Wild Life Spoilers: Session 2 Alliance Report:

Teams:

The Spanners - (Mumbo, Grian, Skizz) - formerly the Sub One Club, immediately forget their idea of using crawl mode and lament that they can't be sub one anymore. Mumbo then decides they are “The Floaters” due to them becoming obsessed with the levitation ability. Luckily this doesn't stick because I could not handle an alliance that changes name every session. Mumbo and Skizz built their “base” as a series of bridges, leading to Mumbo calling them “The Spanners” since “they span things”.

Speaking of levitation, they died from that. And starvation. This was not Mumbo or Skizzes session, with Mumbo losing two life's and Skizz losing 3, halfing his amount of lives in one session. If Skizz loses one next week he will be yellow. Seems Grian's curse of outlining his alliance has started early.

The Bam-Boozelers - (Scar, Lizzie, Jimmy)

I normally have a lot of faith in all life series teams. I think anyone can make it to the end. I think this so long as it is not abundantly clear that they're doomed. I never say someone is Doomed from the star-

This team is doomed from the start. Immediately they decide that the Wild Card is that he can't heal from hunger, now this is a good first thought and is shared by other teams, though those other teams immediately realised that if that were the Wild Card everyone would die of hunger and started looking for other options.

These 3? They stuck with that idea and started making boats to travel. When they realised that their hunger reduced passively, they panicked until Grian saved them by telling everyone in chat that they could eat anything. Now, armed with this knowledge they just have to find a good and easy to use food source.

They chose stone shovels. An item that cannot be stacked and required way more effort and resources to make than was worth it. And they stuck by this even as others told them about better foods. They only stopped using shovels because of the randomisation.

How is Jimmy the most confident member on his team?

In other news, they're theme park is going well and Lizzie's Parrot is cute. Jimmy also apparently has “Big Mascot Energy”.

Renwood - (Martyn, Ren)

These dogs are just vibing. They each lose a life each, no big deal. A far cry from previous seasons, Ren is just chilling, Not going after anyone unless they go after them first and trying to get Martyn to do the same. And he actually does, not attacking anyone this session at all. He even gives up going after Jimmy for stealing their cows (an action which was by every account deserved.)

The Tuff Guys (Tango, Etho, Bdubs) (not technically together (?))

Ah yes, Team B.E.S.T without Skizz …. Considering Skizz was the only person keeping Team B.E.S.T from imploding, this can only go well!

Yeah this team is not staying together. Technically they're already breaking up, with Bdubs saying they should only look out for themselves and insisting they live in different houses. Bdubs even cements this mentality by fully encouraging Scar to help kill Tango for no reason.

As for the “Tuff” part, Etho has decided that they need to be tougher and take what they want from people. You know, not to be nice or polite.

Luckily we can see how this works in practice, as Gem encourages him to go be tough to the Final Girls, let's see how Etho is an not being nice:

● he greets Scott and Cleo

● makes small talk

● politely asks for copper

● tries to stop Pearl stealing from them since he doesn't know she's on they're team

● takes more of the stuff he was told he could have

● gives them obsidian in return anyway

● and still feels bad about it.

Yeah not only was this the least tough Etho had ever been, the Girls almost certainly didn't notice and probably won't even care when they do. Great job Etho.

The Fast And The Furious (Gem, Joel)

This session, Gem announced her plan to make friends so people don't judge them based on 5 seasons worth of going insane every time they go red. This lasts for 3 minutes before other people arrive, Scar misunderstands instructions, Etho lets the cops out and the Final Girls partake in their favourite pastime of miscommunication and insisting their own teammates are doing something they aren't.

Other attempts to make friends do go better, with Gem arguably being on good terms with everyone except two people. So that's good.

Gem also builds a cute little Bard that I give a session before it's burnt down or has a Creeper hole in it. Joel spends all session building a car. Everyone on the server thinks it's hideous, mainly because it is hideous.

The Final Girls - (Scott, Pearl, Cleo, Impulse, Bigb)

Somehow the most stable team here, even if it is mostly out of spite. Yeah this team will stay together, the core four have never betrayed anyone unless an outside faction is involved. They're safe. Even if they continue the tradition of forgetting all the bad stuff they did and only reimbursing bad stuff their teammates did (what do you mean Pearl doesn't trust people based on what happened in previous seasons? That was you, Cleo!)

Oh Bigb also joined this session. Though I imagine this will be a Heart Foundation situation where he bases alone despite being on the team.

Scott and Cleo spend a lot of time this session fixing the mistakes Pearl and Impulse make by acting how they always do. A house and wall are built and Pearl and Impulse prepare revenge plans on Grian and Martyn. Pearl encourages Impulse not to tell the others, seemingly forgetting that Cleo and Bigb are addicted to revenge and would have no problem with this.

Alliances and Friendships:

Lizzie and Gem

these two agree to team up if their teammates die. Since their teammates are idiots.

Remember, Lizzie is the one who made the stone shovel plan.

Spanners Vs Bammers

The Bam-Boozelers still hate the Spanners, dropping their reputation all the way to zero. Mumbo and Skizz either don't realise this or don't care. Grian was gone almost all session mining so can't really say what his thoughts on the situation are.

The Family - (Joel, Etho, Gem)

Etho is indoctrinated into yet another family, though he seems more willing to be present for this one. When Tuff Guys breaks up like 5 minutes into session 3, we all know where he's going.

Also Scar might also be part of the family though every else seems to just ignore this.

Spanners Vs Tango

The Spanners are really angry at Tango for accidentally killing Skizz. They seem satisfied with manifesting his death through belief, but it seems they haven't let him off the hook yet. We all know Bdubs won't help him

Joel might also be mad at Tango since he ate the wheels of his ugly car.

Mumbo & Jimmy still hate Renwood

Mumbo still doesn't trust Martyn after the enchanter fiasco and Jimmy attempts to get revenge for the cow theft. Ren and Martyn have chosen to ignore this, Mumbo seems to have forgotten he was angry, and Jimmy is satisfied that he got revenge.

Ren buys his friends

Ren bought Gem and Tangos friendship through iron. Will this hold up? No.

Gem has beef with team oblivious

Gem hates Pearl and Impulse this season. They are at the top of her inevitable murder list.

● The Final Girls came round for a visit

● Gem took this as him amusing her of stealing

● Scott cut him off before he could explain himself by saying he was purposely antagonising them

Pearl also made it worse by trying to Poison Gem 30 minutes later. Woopsie.

Neither Pearl nor Impulse notice that Gem hates them and the others refuse to tell them.

so i've just finished watching all the first episodes, so i wanted to give my thoughts on the first Wild Life session:

-so much fun i love it so much. i'm so glad they're all still having fun and continuing the series, and that Mumbo and Lizzie came back, despite dying early in Secret Life (i was a tiny bit worried they might get a bit dejected and pass on this one). also thrilled Ren is able to play this time; he's a blast

-there is a lot of mistrust going around which is very curious to me. most of it stems from previous seasons and has no bearing on what was happening at the time. Pearl straight up telling Cleo she expected her to betray her; Mumbo and Skizz not trusting Martyn, and then Grian; and then not trusting that Martyn just wanted to use their enchanter; the huge immediate aggression towards Scar when he came out of the mountain into Grian, Skizz and Mumbo's base; Mumbo not trusting Skizz (his teammate!) when he asked for someone to pass him a diamond; Scott, Cleo, Pearl and Impulse assuming Joel stole their cows, probably more i'm forgetting. it's definitely obvious to me that these people have learnt how the games work and learnt from the pain (as we do). i'm very curious to see if the general server mistrust grows, and the impact it has on everyone and the people

-i love JImmy, Big B, Lizzie and Ren forming a dnd party and Ren (in true bardic fashion) has a guitar within reach and is willing to break into song at the first campsite (this honestly might be my favourite moment from all the life series at the moment. the guitar within reach, Ren's beautiful voice, how much the others thought it was great. fantastic vibes all around)

-i really want Scar and Martyn to team up. they are both instantly mistrusted, to the point that both of them (in their first episodes, no less) expressed that if people are going to treat them like a villain, then they may as well act like it. if the two of them team up to take revenge on everyone being mean to them in a new series i think they would be a force to be reckoned with

-Skizz and Mumbo is a fantastic team-up. both very genuine people who are so funny together

-i hope they get the lag fixed, or that it was just from the size-changing mod and they don't have to deal with it for the rest of the series

-Gem and Joel's partnership - in the early days Gem is going to be a fantastic counterbalance for Joel; help keep him calmer and curb his wild ideas. But once Gem gives in to her own urges... oh boy

-does Big B know that he can go caving with people? cause he seemed to be under the impression that he had to get geared out before he could make friends and it would suck if he ended up alone all the time because it hasn't occurred to him that he can go caving with people right at the start

-double life thought: i know most people count Pearl as the winner, but did Scott technically win as well? cause they were the last pair alive, and died in the same tick. it probably doesn't matter at all, but i wonder about it sometimes (especially in how it would affect Martyn's lore but that's not canon)

-i don't think Jimmy has broken the canary curse. i subscribe to the theory that cause Lizzie died in the End, the Watchers weren't able to perceive it and then he was the first to die in the Overworld (i'm not counting Real Life as canon; it happened and i enjoyed it but it wasn't a full series and they were deliberately playing it silly as an april fool's joke. very glad that Cleo won though. hope they get a full series win as well)

-i'm glad that Tango and Skizz (deliberately) didn't team together, but i kinda wish Tango had ended up in a different group. him, Etho and Bdubs are fun, don't get me wrong, but a whole lot of the fun of the series is seeing people interact and work with people they don't usually. Tango and Jimmy was a top tier pairing in Double Life, and Tango is hilarious. i would love to see him branch out more and work with some more people

-there is more than just the wild card. Grian said he wasn't going to explain it, and i didn't notice anything else happening (but i'm also not expecting it to be much until they get to the late game). i think that there will be a wild card that affects the players, and then also something that affects the world? we'll see, i guess

-now that everyone who has played is playing (i'm pretty sure? if i've forgotten someone i'm gonna be sad) who is gonna sub in if needed?

-i love Mumbo's "that was sub-one intelligence mate" when they all fell 🤣

-i'm not sure what the purpose of including the creakings or whatever they're called? nevermind i just looked it up and they're going to be in the game at some point. weird. i'm not sure how i feel about creakings coming to minecraft though

-very glad they've got six lives this time. it will both allow them to not worry so much about mistakes and accidents (as evidenced by Pearl) and encourage them to take risks, which will be fantastic

Secret Life if everyone had only one life

Most health losses remain the same as they were accidents: mobs, heights and generally being a little dumb.

Scott never stops Jimmy and Scar from talking as Jimmy has done severely better in this continuity never being out first, maybe he even joins in the conversation for a while before walking off.

With Third Life being completely different Scar never gives Grian the cactus monopoly as that has no significance. Perhaps he gives him sugarcane as Double Life has taken Third Lifes place as the birth of Scarian? Thinking about it Scarian would probably be referred by fandom as Bamboo duo or Panda Duo having been created in Double Life.

Session 1 remains basically the exact same for everything else mostly, same for most of session 2.

Martyn still goes to the Nether and is killed by the piglin, he is the first player out of the game.

Session 3 is where the changes start...

Joel doesn't reroll his task for a hard one as failing would basically mean being extremely close to being out, so he sticks with the deja vu task...which he likely fails as its a task that realistically I can't imagine someone being able to do at all without luck... This means he doesn't die failing the bucket clutch.

Jimmy still dies to the drowned and is out second, the big dogs never happen for obvious reasons. Gem still dies to an enderman while trying to do her task and is the third player out. Lizzie still dies to a skeleton on the water slide and is the fourth player out.

Martyn Isn't there to guess Tango's task so he likely succeeds, he gets 3 hearts and 7 items.

Grian's session 4 task is different as there are no yellows, the same is applied to all tasks that are based on the green-yellow-red life system from here on out, each of them has been slightly changed. In this case he simply needs to convince anyone that singing is his task, which he succeeds. This is easier as it allows for more people to be target but harder since It's harder to be sure you have fooled them without them calling you out as a yellow life...so it evens out. He still joins Cleo and Etho later.

Martyn is also not there to make Scar's life more miserable as he can't cause him to fail, Scar succeeds getting 6 hearts and 4 items.

Etho also never gets his task from Martyns suggestion so aHa Etho never happens.

The same that happened to Grian applies to Skizz, Skizz likely fails either way.

Lizzie is out so she also never makes the paths which means movement across the server is technically more difficult. Also Scotts task is likely failed without Lizzie.

Importantly, without Gem and with everyone having only one life they can't risk the dragon is likely never slain and Bdubs fails his hard task losing 10 hearts.

Without Gem there is also no tower off so no questionable mounder towers, Mumbo never climbs the now Gemless Scotts mountain to judge which is tallest and never falls to his death in the process.

BigB's task is different as stated before, so he probably doesn't betray the heart foundation. No trust issues this time around.

Tango and many others also never lose lifes because there are no red life tasks. Cleo race against Gem is also not a thing which means Cleos task is to simply get people to hand their doors.

Joel can't use Jimmy or Lizzie to target Scott (aka basically two of the few people willing to) so he likely fails his task.

Bdubs is still pushed in the zombie pit by Scar, Mumbo still falls in lava, Skizz still dies to something as his health is extremely low and BigB still dies while fighting the wither. They are fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth out respectively.

With only one life Grian likely doesn't run in front of the wither to press the button, he doesn't die yet... however he does likely have extremely low health so he probably dies against the wither anyway. He's the ninth player out. (Or eight if he dies before BigB)

Scott has the charisma to still complete his task without Gem, so he does. Scott also has 1 heart, he probably dies even without trading his life to Martyn.

Gem is already out of the game, there is no boogeyman/zombie apocalypse in session 7 so ... nobody dies, not even Tango who is never killed by BigB's dog as BigB is out and is later also not killed by the non existant zombie army.

There's also no Angel Jimmy as Grian is out of the game and can't get the task.

At this point in time there are 7 players left in the game: Pearl, Joel, Impulse, Cleo, Etho, Tango and Scar.

Everyone also has very little hearts each as there have been no respawns... Which means when that creeper explodes next to Pearl...she probably doesn't survive it, tenth player out, 6 to go... Knowing Joel erratic behavior gets worse without his teammates he's likely to accidentally kill himself sometimes soon... 5 left.

The last 5: Impulse, Tango, Cleo, Etho and Scar. I can see Impulse and Tango working together... Seeing the weird competition between Scar and Heart foundation I think Tango and Impulse target and kill Scar, 4 left...

Cleo does the nice vs naughty thing, I don't think she gets to kill anyone but I think someone kills them in response... Maybe dogs if she's accidentally punched... 3 left.

With Impulse working with Tango I think they work together to kill Etho putting him in third leaving those two to fight for the win as the finalists... I think Impulse has a higher chance to win...just slightly, the difference isn't that severe, but I think in this case Impulse wins.

Can i propose a wild thought to you that I'm rattling off as I just thought of it

Have you considered the lizzie-scott parallels/contrasts?

One of my favourite things about Lizzie is her perpetual "i meant to do that!" attitude she approaches everything with. She thinks herself the leader of sorts and the only compitent bamboozler but my girl is just as big of a loser and klutz, she's just gotten slightly luckier so far. Its why I love her and Jimmy, they both think they're the responsible one when really they play hot potato with the braincell except neither noticed the braincell was replaced with an actual hot potato. She's better at certain things (remembering things and deduction in particular) but none of those things are surviving and its completely negated by her curiosity.

But anyways my point is that like Scott she tries to pretend she's competent and the smart one who is babysitting her teammates, keeping them under control, when she isn't any of those things and actually she cares a lot and is internally screaming all the time.

She's just capable of dropping the mask to be vulnerable. Or, yknow, aware it is in fact a mask in the first place. At the end of the day Lizzie can open up and apologize when she does something silly or says something a bit too mean. She'll just find something new to puff up her chest about.

She's also a sweat, she's just really bad at it.

(Sorry I could probably compare seablings vs fh more to emphasise my point but im trying really hard to keep to the point of this ask without going on tangents and I don't trust myself to not spend 3 hours writing about seablings and forgetting the whole point if I do (also you could also probably compare joel/lizzie to your scott/pearl stuff but 1) i think that probably works better comparing joel and scott more than lizzie and scott and 2) i think comparing their relationship with the same person even if its a different type of relationship might be more revealing and 3) i'm bias))

I ACTUALLY HAVE PONDERED SCOTT AND LIZZIE BEFORE. Not to any level that I feel is worth its own post or anything but they definitely do have a handful of common points that have sent me spiraling in the past (<- guy who really, really likes death games in general and totally didn't try to map out a full hunger games AU at one point. and put scott and lizzie in district 1 together because it just makes sense and has horrifying implications for both of them).

Anyway this is all very true, I hadn't even considered it in the context of their relationships with Jimmy but it makes a lot of sense with the whole. Awhhh I have to Keep Him Alive oop there he goes I guess he'll be die next session 🙄🙄 sort of energy they both try to embody. And how it's kind of performative for both of them, but I think I'll have to let the season play out a bit more before I form any sort of opinion on Lizzie's treatment of Jimmy. (I'm forever sad that Lizzie missed out on three seasons I feel like she might've been a smajor level blorbo to me if she was just there more)

This is a little on the meta side but from what I understand Scott pretty much started off his youtube career with Lizzie's guidance post-WoW-party so I suppose it makes enough sense that he takes after her so much on a persona level as well. Except he's a lot worse at embracing the tongue-in-cheek insincerity. That thing you said about the mask.

I do think Scott is at least acutely aware of his performative nature too, just less willing to acknowledge it for what it is. Lizzie is lying to you, Scott is lying to you but more importantly lying to himself. And that's the difference that I think makes Scott so much more. Dangerous? I suppose would be the word to use. Other than the fact that he is just overall a lot better at being a sweat in general but I'd argue even that could be seen as part of his constant need to keep up his perfect image.

Anyway I'm very unfamiliar with Lizzie and Jimmy's dynamic so I'm excited to see how it goes and even moreso with the comparison to my guy now planted i n my mind. Cheers I loveee stuff like this.

Also sidenote I do find it very entertaining that I'm as predictable as I am <-- has thought about scott/pearl and joel/lizzie as foils alot especially in LL

Grian, Pearl, BigB, Martyn and Jimmy all were something between paranoid and miserable during the Life Games.

Grian couldn’t handle the sight of Scar’s spirit with a hurt look, and ended it right then and there, Mumbo being a spirit in DL didn’t help. Pearl struggled during Double Life, and Lizzie would egg her on, who was none too pleased with the way Pearl was being treated. BigB was glad that he died before in LL Cleo, he didn’t want to figure out what would happen then. Martyn was usually pestered by Jimmy after he got out, because he knew Martyn was the only one able to actually Hear Jimmy. During LimLife, Martyn also had the added pain of hearing Ren along with his former husband, Mumbo. Jimmy is just glad that there’s one upside to being out first consistently.

Scott knew about the ability. Jimmy had disclosed it to him back in Third Life, when their lives were so closely intertwined. He often felt bitter that Jimmy died first. At least if it were the other way around, he'd be able to talk to Jimmy still.

He's always had his suspicions about others, but it's probably rude to outright ask. Scott gets the feeling Jimmy wasn't supposed to tell him to begin with, but it was hard to miss something bothering his husband. And Jimmy has always been an awful liar.

He should've guessed Martyn had similar abilities. Scott had noticed before the man sometimes seemed unfocused, but it's even worse living with him in Limited Life. The moment those first deaths happen Scott is constantly fighting for his attention.

Scott wouldn't mind it, but Martyn needs a nap. He can't have one if ghosts are pestering him all the time.

So, he picks up a broom (such a silly thing for a death game, but Scott would rather die than have an ugly base.) Waving it around, he tells whatever ghosts that may be hanging out this is a ghost free zone until Martyn's slept. Otherwise Scott will hold a reaaaaaaaaaalllllllllyyyyyyy long grudge. And try to hit them with this broom.

He thinks it works, because Martyn sleeps perfectly that night. He's tucked against Scott's side, cradled by his arm. Scott smiles at the sight.

(The betrayal still hurts, but he knows Martyn well enough not to be surprised. Yet... he doesn't think it was the ghosts speaking to him, then. He doesn't know what it was.)

And I've said it before and I'll say again, Scott drops everything to make a deal with Jimmy that only benefits Jimmy. Scott has not ONCE made a deal with Jimmy that didn't benefit Jimmy in some way

Limited life being one of the better examples.

Like when it comes to life or death Scott doesn't discuss it with his team he's running over to Jimmy's house throwing a life at him and telling him it's the last time it will happen before making him Strawberry Shortcake

And as much as I personally want Jimmy to win, it seems so unlikely that he will ever win that people have gone out the the way to get him out the game quicker for fun, and Scott knows this and still gives him a life regardless or gives him something of equal or greater value regardless

Like Scott knows he's going to die when he gives him the chance to live at least one more time. And the only of a person to ever do this was Ren in limited life, and he did it because he felt bad I knew that Jimmy was going to be out the game (I can't remember if he felt bad about 3rd life or not)

Scott willingly made deals that disadvantage him to give Jimmy a chance, and the only other person to do this, to give him another chance has been Ren who did it out of pity and Lizzie who did it because she knew he would die and it was dangerous outside.

I'm in that moment in Scott's episodes Jimmy was going to ask Scott for a life before Lizzie came running back saying that it was too dangerous outside and that he needed to take hers which he agreed.

In that moment JIMMY WAS GOING TO ASK SCOTT, AND WE ALL KNOW THAT SCOTT PROBABLY WOULD HAVE SAID YES

ok i was wrong in this post about one thing and it was just the fact that lizzie was the one to die first and not martyn but. man.

the interesting thing is that jimmy not dying first feels like the result of...a couple of flukes.

jimmy ended up with an extra half heart at the veeery start of secret life due to martyn gifting it to him after the friendly punch. as such, he started off at the smallest possible advantage (but an advantage nonetheless) to everyone else. this pushes his ensuing deaths just the tiniest bit forwards, to the point where martyn goes both yellow and red just moments before he does. that was the first fluke.

the second fluke was him killing lizzie at the end of session five. it wasn't for a task, so it technically shouldn't have happened, but it went through anyways and lizzie ended up on red because of jimmy. by all technicalities, this means that lizzie shouldn't have been on red in the first place. and if you think about it, if lizzie wasn't on red, she wouldn't have been in the end trying to kill scott, so she wouldn't have fallen off the platform. but everything else that session, with the warden and the wither, would have happened in the same way due to them being tasks. so if lizzie wasn't on red, jimmy would have died first.

it's just...so interesting. the only reason jimmy wasn't first to red was because of what was probably a glitch (martyn instantly being jettisoned off of the platform in the end) and the only reason he wasn't first out was due to breaking the game's rules (killing someone without the instruction of a task). it's really no wonder that everything fell apart immediately after lizzie died; it broke the game's code. something glitched.

With the new life series out now and the first teams formed I have some thoughts

Gem and Joel: Like either they end up in a 1v1 and one of them takes the win this series or they die first in a glorius fight. This is based on them being good at the game but also impulsive. They will hopefully join forces with Scar, Jimmy and Lizzie because that would be so much fun to see

Scar, Jimmy and Lizzie: They will probably be the dominant team when it comes to politics. Scars plus 10 in persuasion and deception with Jimmys ability to romance every man in the series and Lizzies charisma(I do not know what Lizzies thing is) they will probably be able to survive

Mumbo, Grian and Skizz: It seems like we have the team that will definitely survive to the end…. if it werent for the simpel reason that all of them have their own way to spontaneously combust. Mumbo will get into a fight with someone that he sould not fight and then killed, Skizz will sacrifice himself for some reason to save someone and then die and Grian will be alone and then dispatched of quickly. But hey, they will be fun to watch until that happens

Ren and InTheLittleWoods: This is just fan-service in a nut shell. Easly the team that will be the most loyal until death. That might not be true based on Martyns Limited Life betrayl but I am more thinking of Third Life. For the conclution of their series I want them to do the most dramatic reanactment of Romeo and Juliet but gay

Impulse, Pearl, Scott and Cleo: The girls, the gays and their granpa. I have not seen any of their perspectives but I have seen some glimts of them from other perspectives. I think this team has a high chance of breaking apart due to having some internal problems or atlest thats what a lot of people seam to think

Tango, Etho and Bdubs: This seams like another team with a high chance of breaking apart. Once more I have not seen any of their perspectives. I have heard that Tango might get betrayed by somebody on the team. This is what I have heard from people that have seen their perspectives

BigB: He is alone in the Pale Forest so that is intresting. He has no teammates right now but hopefully he joins somebody sone

Life teams I reaaaaaallly wanna see

Disaster Squad (Jimmy, Scar, Skizz, Bdubs): Grian's worst nightmare, probably. These guys all have hilarious reactions / an interesting sense of humor that I think would mesh well and create maybe the funniest moments in the entire series. (Just imagine the out of context videos)

Guaranteed Win (Cleo, Etho, Gem, Joel): one of them wins, I just know it. Redstoner, builders, and PvP gods?? The other teams can kiss the win goodbye. Probably targeted first for being an absolutely goated team, but they win anyway cause they're just that good. They're probably the last 4 players alive too. Make them all fight it out cactus ring-style.

PIT (Pearl, Impulse, Tango): overall wholesome vibes. No one can harm them they're just too cute. Probably incredibly underestimated until it's too late and they've killed everyone. If this team happens i might just sob real ass tears

How did this happen? (Grian, Lizzie, Mumbo, Ren): somehow all got grouped together unknowingly. Maybe they're all loners who consider the others their alliance?? Who knows! At least they know the others have their back... for the most part

Gaslight (Scott, BigB, Martyn): Gaslight

GIGGS (Grian, Impulse, Scar, Gem, Skizz): GIGGS in life series!?!??!?!!? i would die. please let this happen. for me

Shadowrot + Bdubs (Lizzie, Cleo, Bdubs): i feel like there would be. so many jokes made by just implications. Bdubs is supportive bug lizzie and cleo keep in their house. What does he do? Who knows. just bug.

Wolf imagery (Pearl, Ren, Etho): are they normal or do they cause problems? We'll find out. Ren causes drama, Pearl partakes in drama upon occasion, Etho does not know what a "drama" is. They probably win

BigBeans (Joel, BigB): Please tell me someone sees the vision?? I can't explain it... it'd just be perfect??? They'd get along so well i think. Two very different play styles I'd love to see interact more

What (Mumbo, Martyn, Jimmy, Scott, Tango): Just watch them all fight tooth and nail over jimmy each other. Does this team even like each other??? Mumbo is oblivious to it all. The return of AHA but it's like. uhu.

A few days ago I mentioned having and idea for a hermitcraft/life series/empires au based off of some songs that I have been listening to lately. Now while I didn’t get much feedback on the idea I figured after having a few days to mull it over I might as well post it since even if it doesn’t get a lot of love, I’ll never know until I post it and it would be a good to free up some head space before going back to school. Though I do want to thank the people who did like it as I really appreciate it! It kept me from scraping the idea all together.

Given how long the story is turning out to be I might break it into parts to make it more manageable to read. It will probably be at least three parts with the synopsis being the first part, the prologue/background being a second part, and the actual story being the third part. I will break up the story more if I think it needs it, and I will link all of them here

Ok first off! This au is inspired by multiple songs! So I am going to quickly give a shout out to them and their creators.

Elements of Royalty au:

Most of the prologue is based off of Tower of Ai by Vocaloid and animatic by Kaurnival. As it features most of the life series group. (i.e. Grian, Scott, Pearl, Scar, Bdubs, Joel, Gem, Cleo, Lizzie, and Jimmy). Beyond this point is spoilers for the Tower of Ai song as well as basic run though of what the story for this au will be. So go watch/listen if you don’t want to be spoiled before you see/hear it.

Prologue:

I will go more in detail when I write the Prologue for this au but basically the world where these characters live has fallen into ruin because The Ancient Builders wanted to stop relying on the Watchers to protect them. Since the cost of the Watcher’s protection was that selected people would have to fight in death games. In response to that when the next time the Watcher’s became bored the next time they just threw every natural disaster in the book at them. When it seemed like everyone was going to die the Watcher’s decided to send a prophecy that chosen person (Grian) could go retrieve 9 gifts that relate to the world and restore the balance, but he would have to travel to a tower at the ends of the earth to do so. Not wanting to go alone Grian asked around and Scott, Pearl, Scar, Bdubs, Joel, Gem, Cleo, Lizzie, and Jimmy were the only ones who would go with him. As they travel the group gets extremely close as they face dangerous situations together and only survive thanks to their friendship. Once they finally reach the tower Grian goes to relieve the first gift only for Scott to come in at the last second and steal it. This sets up a pattern where each of the nine people who came with Grian steal one of the nine gifts Grian was supposed to receive In the end Grian is left alone feeling betrayed and like he failed to save the world. Climbing up the tower he finds that the nine gifts are actually waiting for him there and it’s revealed that this was all an elaborate trick set up by the Watchers. The Watchers had sent all of the others a vision of what would happen if Grian took the gifts. Basically the original gifts were traps, and whoever took them would be killed as a kind of sacrifice to reveal the real gifts. So each member of the group decided to sacrifice themselves in hopes that once the real gifts had been revealed that Grian would be able to use them and save the world. None of them informed Grian of this as they knew he would try to stop them if he found out what they were doing. Each of the members of the group died in a way that related to each gift. Scott drowned, Pearl was burned alive, Scar basically had all of the water drained out of him a dehydrated, Bdubs went insane and since the song doesn’t make this clear probably died of sleep deprivation or disappeared all together. Joel was torn apart by vines, Gem was struck down by lightning, Cleo was torn apart by blades of wind, Lizzie froze to death, and Jimmy was consumed by lava. When Grian receives the true gifts he also gets to witness what happened to his friends as well as being shown why they did this. At this Grian is devastated as now even if he does manage to save the world he will have to do it without his friends and the he was basically the cause of their demise. So in misery he tries to fulfill his friends last wish to bring their world back to glory all the while mourning the lost of those he held dearest.

This is basically where the Tower of Ai ends and my au begins. This story was created when I tried to figure out the the other members of the life series (Ren, Martyn, Etho, Impulse, Skizz, Tango, and Mumbo) would fit in, and they would possibly met the other members of life smp if they had all died. So I’m this au when Grian tries to restore the world his desire for his friends to be alive is stronger than his desire to fix a already decaying world. So the Watchers run with that and offer to fulfill his desire since he won their game. When he agrees the world that the group has lived in fades away and all the people basically have quick painless death as they fade into oblivious. When Grian gets angry and confused at what the Watcher have done they explained that his desire was for his friends to be alive and since their souls were now trapped in the gifts they bestowed upon him they had to clear away the old world in order to create a new one where his friends could be alive. Grian is stunned to hear this but before he can do anything the Watchers take the gifts and use them to create the new world. In the process each member of the group is revived as they become the immortal spirit of their element.

Scott becomes the spirit of water able to control the ocean, rain and anything else made of water.

Pearl becomes the spirit of fire with her dog Tilly (who is going to be with her in the full story) as the embodiment of smoke.

Scar becomes the spirit of light, able to not only control light but magic and luck as well (gambling man)

Bdubs becomes the spirit of darkness, able to control the monsters of the night.

Joel becomes the spirit of the earth, able to create massive earthquakes.

Gem becomes the spirit of lightning, usually only showing up during stormy weather.

Cleo becomes the spirit of the winds, able to guide ships along their course.

Lizzie becomes the spirit of ice and snow, able to create blizzards.

Jimmy becomes the spirit of lava, he doesn’t have a vary big role in the overworld but with a new nightmarish dimension added into this world he had dominion over the nether.

Grian is overjoyed to see his friends alive again but the he stops when he realizes that while the Watchers did make a new world they didn’t put him in it. They instead left him on the remains of his old world which was just a singular tower on a floating island in the void. The Watcher’s tell him that as compensation for having to take his gifts away they we give him three new ones. The first is the remains of his old home which they refer to as the End dimension, the second is the ability to have control of death in the new world they created. However this will make him unable to visit the new world as since he is the embodiment of death now if he goes there the world will wither away at his presence. Lastly they give him the gift of being able to Watch over his friends for all eternity. With that the Watchers leave grian to his cruel fate. Forever knowing his friends are alive but being just out of reach of them as he sit in a dead world.

This is where the main story kicks in. After centuries have past the rest of our main cast (Ren, Martyn, BigB, Etho, Impulse, Skizz, and Mumbo) are born into the world that was created by Grian’s wish. I won’t go too in depth here since this post is already long enough. The last things I will cover is this first Mumbo won’t be making a appearance until late into the story. I have a good role for him it just won’t show up till later. Secondly Tango isn’t initially a blaze hybrid. I know that odd but I have a good reason! The only people who are initially hybrids are Ren and Martyn. Lastly I have been really into Fabric Fsntasy SMP so for this au Martyn with be a Ice Dragonborn.

Main Story Synopsis:

Prince Ren had been on the brink of death after being kicked out of his kingdom by his greedy father and his ruthless citizens. If he hadn’t accidentally stepped into Martyn cave he probably would have given up long ago and just let himself be consumed by the elements. As it was now though he and Martyn had found a surprisingly loyal group of companions and were spending their days traveling the land and hunting down new and exciting challenges. It had been months since his exile and Ren could honestly say he had never been happier. While he still held onto a few fond memories of his time growing up his fathers castle, deep down he had known that the kingdom hadn’t been his home in some time, if it ever was to begin with. He had easily discarded the idea of trying to go back and reclaim his thrown, However, after months of nomadic lifestyle and dungeon crawling he was starting to become desperate for a sense of stability for not just him but the companions he had made during his exile. With the only skills he had being the ones taught to him as the crown prince, Ren was unsure how to give his new friends the comfortable life he desired for him. So in a bid that was probably caused but what little bit of childhood naivety hadn’t been stamped out by father he made a wish on a falling star that he could be given the powers to create a paradise where he and his friends could live out the rest of their days in peace. Unfortunately for Ren there were forces out there that had been Watching over him for some time. Hearing his wish They decided to grant it but in a way that he would come to regret.

Last Life if it had soulmates... And Had Gem as the 18th player.

(Couples are chosen by a randomizer, their lives are equal to the average number of lives +1 [Gem was randomly chosen to have 6 lives] )

The random couples are: Martyn and Tango (6 lives). Cleo and Rendog (3 lives). Impulse and Grian (4 lives). BigB and Joel (5 lives). Scar and Skizz (6 lives). Mumbo and Bdubs(5 lives). Jimmy and Scott (3 lives). Pearl and Gem (7 lives). Etho and Lizzie (5 lives).

Session 1 starts much the same way, Grian tricking a life our of Scar and then dying to Bdubs boogeyman kill... except when he dies Impulse dies as well. Scar and Skizz go to 5 lives and Grian and Impulse stay at 4.

Scott still meets Pearl and offers his alliance in exchange of a life, together they search for their soulmates. Scottage still forms as Scott, Jimmy, Pearl and Gem base together... Their team is called by fandom "The girls and the gays". After the deal Pearl and Gem drop to 6 lives and Scott and Jimmy go to 4.

Grian and Impulse settle in the place the Southlands would have been though only the two of them do as Jimmy is with Scott, Martyn is with Tango and Mumbo with Bdubs... Martyn, Mumbo, Tango and Bdubs probably make their own team.

Scar and Skizz settle on magic mountain with Joel and BigB settling closeby.

Tango still makes "you bet your life" and Bdubs, Etho and Joel bet 1 life each. Tango and Martyn get 9 lives.

Mumbo still dies to the piglin meaning he and Bdubs drop to 3 lives at the start of session 2.

The Boogeymen remains the same so Joel still tries and fails to kill Lizzie, dropping himself and BigB to 3 lives. I don't feel Lizzie still dies to a zombie as that happened because of the damage Joel did to her which would have been reduced by around half with Etho eating.

Joel still tries to get Martyn and fails and is still killed by Mumbo meaning him and BigB drop to 2 lives, Lizzie still bets on Joel bringing Tango to 10 lives.

Joel still kills Scott (putting him and Jimmy at 3 lives) and is then killed by Pearl and Gem causing him and BigB to become red, having won the bet Lizzie gets the 4 lives bringing herself and Etho to 9.

Lizzie, Cleo and Ren make the faerie fort together and Etho is kinda forced to join them. Lizzie still gives Cleo and Ren a life bringing them to 4. She then gives one life to Scott and Jimmy (who go back to 4) and one to Pearl and Gem for the enchanter (who go back to 7).

Lizzie is still the next boogeyman and she still kills Pearl by luring her to a narrow corridor. Gem doesn't take it well.

Ren still trades his life to Scar and goes back to 3 lives, in the next session so does Bdubs (2 lives) bringing Scar and Skizz to 7 lives...just in time for Ren killing Skizz as a boogeyman.

BigB doesn't live in fairy fort this time so he doesn't kill Cleo...he probably goes after Scar. Scar and Skizz are back to 5 lives.

Joel still shoots Grian off the platform but Impulse and Grian just go to 3 lives...not red.

Cleo still dies to the trap and them and Ren go down to 2 lives.

BdoubleO still falls to his death in the nether so he and Mumbo both go to red, we have a fun switch up where Mumbo is red and Grian is green.

Scar still gives Bdubs a life bringing him and Mumbo back to 2 only to be boogey killed by Etho immediately. Scar and Skizz now have 3 lives.

The shadow alliance doesn't really make sense in this context so it just... doesn't happen.

Scar still gives a life to Joel (2 lives) bringing himself and Skizz to 2 lives. He does NOT die to the Southlanders trap as they don't exist in this timeline.

By the end of session 5: Martyn and Tango (6 lives), Cleo and Rendog (2 lives), Impulse and Grian (3 lives), BigB and Joel (2 lives), Scar and Skizz (2 lives), Mumbo and Bdubs (2 lives), Jimmy and Scott (4 lives), Pearl and Gem (6 lives), Etho and Lizzie (6 lives).

Mumbo and Bdubs are soulmates so Mumbo doesn't kill him to get the boogey kill, he probably kills Etho instead. Joel still tries to make a trap and explodes himself going to red only to kill Lizzie later anyway. Bdubs still kills Tango to get the boogey kill putting him at 5 lives. Scott still kills Impulse too while Scar still dies in Scott's elevator. And Jimmy still accidentally blows himself up by touching Lizzie's base's trap only to kill Lizzie in revenge. Lastly Scott still ender pearls into a wall. Skizz isn't attacked by the reds as Scar dying put him on red.

Gem and Pearl gives Scott and Jimmy one life to put them back to 3.

By the end of the sixth session: Martyn and Tango (5 lives), Cleo and Ren (2 lives), Impulse and Grian (2 lives), BigB and Joel (1 life), Scar and Skizz (1 life), Mumbo and Bdubs (2 lives), Jimmy and Scott (3 lives), Pearl and Gem (5 lives), Etho and Lizzie (3 lives).

Mumbo never kills Impulse as he has no reason to, Grian never kills Jimmy and Mumbo for much of the same reason.

Pearl still leaves halfway and Martyn becomes the boogey, he still tries to kill Grian but his kill is still stolen by Joel... And then BigB sets off Pearls trapped chest and him and Joel are out of the game. Joel is out first 2 times in a row.

Martyn never kills Tango as their soulmates so he targets Etho or Lizzie... Either way they go to 2 lives.

Grian still summons the wither, Bdubs dies and so does Impulse. Impulse and Grian are out of the game too.

By the end of session 7: Martyn and Tango (5 lives), Cleo and Ren (2 lives), Impulse and Grian (0 lives), BigB and Joel (0 lives), Scar and Skizz (1 life), Mumbo and Bdubs (1 life), Jimmy and Scott (3 lives), Pearl and Gem (5 lives), Etho and Lizzie (2 lives).

Etho is still killed by a creeper...yep

Scott as the boogey as a bigger incentive to kill someone this time around so he targets Martyn or Tango as they have 5 lives. He likely succeds.

Scar still almost kill Pearl only for her to die to a skeleton.

Tango still kills himself with his own trap.

The reds still kill Pearl and Ren still kills Scar putting him and Skizz out.

Without Grian and Joel the other deaths of the session don't happen, by the end of session 8: Martyn and Tango (3 lives), Cleo and Ren (2 lives), Impulse and Grian (0 lives), BigB and Joel (0 lives), Scar and Skizz (0 lives), Mumbo and Bdubs (1 life), Jimmy and Scott (3 lives), Pearl and Gem (3 lives), Etho and Lizzie (1 life).

The green lifers are the first to be targeted, one way or another they go to yellow probably the order is: Jimmy goes down, then Pearl and then Tango.

Gem gets Etho in self defense, I don't have an explanation for this it just feels right. In the same vein Mumbo gets a kill on Pearl and is then killed by Gem. Gem then kills Martyn or Tango and Scott let's himself be killed to have a fair fight.

4 couples remain: Pearl and Gem, Martyn and Tango, Ren and Cleo and Scott and Jimmy. Instead of a all vs all they decide to have the strongest fighter of each couple fight eachother which of course leaves Gem, Ren, Martyn and Scott.

We know how this fight ends, Scott wins* meaning he and Jimmy are the final 2 players left... I really want to say that Jimmy wins but in a fight Scott is the better suited to win if they have weapons... And without having won before I don't know if Scott just let's Jimmy win. If we assume Scott wants it to be fair and they fight with fists which does even the playing field a bit then maybe... Maybe Scott has a moment of hesitation and dies. It's hard to say but since this is my what if ...

We’ll talk about Scott (1/18 traffic analysis)

I’m gonna start by saying if you’re a die hard Scott fan you probably won’t like this, I’m not the biggest fan of his. Please go look at my other posts or just ignore this.

I’m starting a new thing where I just don’t want to ruin something for someone but I am a little hater.

I’m also so incredibly biased and not in his favor.

So with that out of the way……

Scott!!

Honestly I think people mischaracterize him a lot. Which who cares do whatever you want forever but for the sake of this you’re wrong <3

Let’s start with 3rd life!

I don’t like how he treats Jimmy. I’m so sorry flower husband fans I totally get the appeal!! It’s like yeah Jimmy is a goof and he’s bad at stuff but like Scott doesn’t think Jimmy can do anything right. He berates him and makes fun of him to other people. He’s nice to him only for the benefit of himself, so he won’t drag down their team.

He expects his death.

Isn’t that tragic? He makes a widow’s alliance like he can’t wait for him to die. Like it’s expected. Jimmy’s not cursed yet. It’s not likely he’s going to win or anything but you can’t believe in him at all? You have zero faith he can live past you?

It’s so demeaning. It comes across as him thinking he’s better than Jimmy and I think he does believe that.

Of course in the end Scott seems pretty heart broken but the reason he doesn’t go through with his new alliance is because Cleo died.

Then we have the home scene at the end which is sweet but doesn’t make Scott any less annoying to me.

Scott never gets overcome with bloodlust which is interesting because of how many kills he has. That’s all him, no revenge, very little red/boogy bloodlust, he kills because he can.

What is the bloodlust just not strong enough for you? Too good for that too?

Okay he teams up with Pearl in last life because he hopes she will give him a life. Just for teaming up with him? And she does of course.

At least Ren had something to offer undying loyalty and willingness to die for Lizzie.

Like that’s a deal worth taking.

Pearl at least is like you gotta prove your worth somehow?

Then again he’s trying to team up with Cleo like real shit I guess, I would too. it just feels shity to me. If I was teamed with Scott I’d question whether or not he really cared about me at all.

He just comes off as selfish in any situation he can. I should probably give him a little credit, he is in a death game.

It’s the way people portray him as this guy who’s very morally superior and doesn’t play dirty.

But he’s ALWAYS playing dirty.

He’s constantly manipulating everyone around him.

He’s such an asshole to me idk

He’s telling Scar that they’re friends and allies but he never does anything for Scar or spend any time with him. Ditching him when Cleo tries to stay aligned with him after they get a life from him.

He very easily lies to whoever he wants to and gets away with it. His actions never catch up to him. He’s never held accountable and he’s constantly being rewarded for lying and manipulating the people around him.

Anyway the start of my hated journey is double life because he’s the worst in this.

I don’t understand why Cleo and Scott are so butt hurt about not finding their soulmates, it was funny though so I’m not upset about that.

When Pearl comes and finds him, he expects her to grovel like Martyn does. They didn’t really do anything wrong though? They were both properly geared up and it’s not like they were the only people trying to get recourses?

It’s nonsensical after listening to their explanation to still be upset, but they don’t listen or hear them out they just want to be begged for forgiveness.

Pearl of course was not going to do that and she of course is not innocent and antagonized him after that.

He’s not forgiven by me for what he did to Pearl for letting her win. She should have killed him.

That is not Scott’s only sin, what kinda douche builds a ranch specifically so you can make one better than your friends? The ranch by the way was also created to break up other peoples relationships while gaslighting them about that very fact.

Cleo and Scott spend all of double life trying to manipulate the different soul bounds because they are unhappy in their own.

Scott’s defining characteristic is being petty.

Limited life we have all the sacrifices he does, overdone at this point.

He’s so cocky. I feel like people miss that. He antagonizes and tries to get people to want to kill him. Which is how Scott has killed Joel so many times.

Scott is annoying so Joel will want to kill him but he keeps getting him.

In limited life specifically it’s so jabansksjsjsj

Because Joel is just trying to stay in the game longer he’s getting desperate and a little deranged and Scott just keeps killing him. I don’t how many kills but it was over kill.

Ugh and how he acts around Jimmy, like respect his boundaries. MAYBE theirs a good reason he doesn’t want to be around you, FREAK.

Keep the stupid pufferfish to yourself he’s over you!!

All of his actions became unforgivable when he didn’t let western duo team up, genuinely wanted to strangle him.

God again with the thinking you have some authority with what Jimmy does and thinking you know better than these grown people.

MAYBE some people are here for a good time, a loyal time, a fun time! Not a long time, but YOU wouldn’t know anything about that.

I appreciate the growth this time the final self sacrifice kill did have drama, but it was mostly Gem sounding genuinely devastated about killing him. (Idk know why that’s devastating I’m still upset about Jimmy and Scar not teaming)

I honestly don’t remember anything about real life really don’t count any of that as canon besides Cleo being a winner and Joel getting motion sickness really easy.

My hatred might actually be mostly the Jimmy and Scar thing and the fandoms interpretation.

I feel like he’s either worse than you think or just as bad but in a different way???
