been thinking about the backrooms levels as being vaguely sentient, with most being neutral but some being benevolent or malevolent.

like they're consciously trying to mimic the frontrooms for various reasons, but don't understand the use/meaning of objects/places so it's garbled and Off.

specifically, i've been watching GeoNosiS's playrooms level videos, and the constant repeating "kids only, must be under 18 to enter, no adults allowed" signs feels protective. this is a safe place for kids. maybe the level wanted to make a fun n safe escape for kids in bad situations...a kid hiding in their closet finds themself no-clipping through the floor and into a giant play area, full of chuck e. cheese-esque bad food and all the games and climbing structures they could dream of. there's even quieter rooms for reading or napping.

everyone knows i'm a sucker for entity/creature/being that protects kids but i think it's an interesting way to look at the backrooms levels.

they're copying on purpose bc they're curious, bc they want to help, bc they want to hurt....i think it could be really fun to see ppl write some levels like that

maybe it’s bc i’m better at it than before but it’s just such a peaceful part of the art process and i really like giving my lines all the weight and detail jjsndnf it’s just rlly fun and i rlly like it

guys i have so much homework this week:(

#and none of its even FUN i never have fun assignments this semester #i have to finish this huge maze for perspective drawing on tuesday. and i have my midterm essay due for art history on wednesday #thats it basically actually i finished all the other stuff today #it just is a lot i rlly am not sure if i actually have time bc i also have work tomorrow #like if i knew i could spend all of tomorrow after class working on the maze id feel a lot better abt it but i will probably have to do a #decent chunk of it on tuesday before class... hate that #god i was trying to vent abt it but now ive stressed myself out i need to go to SLEEP so i can wake up and work on it before class. OKAY #heres the plan. I can do at LEAST 2 hrs before work. 2 hours after. That is a decent chunk done and then I can wake up early the next day #and i have until 5 to finish it. EASY #THEN after class i can start the essay. next day wednesday i have literally the whole day. its only two pages it doesnt have to be good #also i have to do laundry that day bc on thursday im going to visit erik for fall break:) it will be a good relaxing break i hope

i wish society as a whole could slow down. only way i can explain is rn we’re like emails when we should be like faxes 😔

#personal #why does every service have to be faster than the last? why do places brag about being 24/7 all year. can we all relax a little #fax machines are the devil but letting the thing scan ur paper and take a minute or two to send the documents it’s nice #gives you a natural break in work #emails are like i know ur available this very second and can keep being available and no escape #i hated her but i do miss faxxing at office depot #i just miss print work in general but also my other jobs were divine and surely when i leave this job won’t become divine in my eyes as well #honestly it probably won’t which. hm. let me romanticize something at my next gig #i can romanticize the slow days i can say that #and the work itself assuming it’s for my department is actually rlly fun! usually. except certain devices i wish we either #had a team dedicated to them or they would all blow up #several people included have asked for and rsvp for more training with them but they keep canceling the class #so whatever 🙄

More food for thought they are hanging out toegther in some crappy apartment avoiding Miguel because he’s annoying and overstimulating most of the time . BLANKET NEST!!! maelstrom can spin their web into like a cocoon/hammock that they usually chill in but spot does Not like the texture of it (it is itchy and not nice ); to him at least), so they compromise and spot uses his portals to snatch a bunch of blankets from some random wherever and they have snacks and talk about old video games from 2004 ❤️ honestly just wanted an excuse to draw them both scrunched up like that
