Jacob and trust issues
I'm reading a fanfic on Wattpad, and I'm 104% (juno reference) sure that Jacob has trust issues. Like when Barron was pretending to me his therapist he probably never ever is going back to therapy (even though he REALLY needs it). He scarcely mentioned at the beginning of DoDA that he was a bit superstitious about trying to kill a hollow at Grandpa Abe's house because he didn't want to end up like Abe (dead). So like I feel like almost anything thing that happened in book 1 he won't do again because he knows the aftermath when he did it (the aftermath was bad). So like trusting another therapist is a big no. Like I think the closest thing he'll get to therapy is venting to his family, and using their advise to his appeal.
P.S. I feel like yeah, Abe wanted to protect Jacob by keeping all these secrets and all that but did he think about what would happen when he found out, and the aftermath of what would happen when he found out? Because Jacob has a bunch of trauma and it's all connected to Abe. When Abe hid all of this stuff from Jacob, he got Jacob thinking about if he really loved Jacob cause he kept all these secrets.
Abe is literally "gatekeep, trauma, kms"
Abe just makes me so mad. He really though he's protecting him, but he carried a lot of the weight om his back and didn't know what would happen whent the weight was found out.

Hello!!!
This is an updated version of my introduction, which will unfortunately replace my original one since I have a lot more followers. Feel free to skip it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Welcome to my blog!!
I often post about stuff on my mind or when I'm bored, meaning my blog doesn't have a certain aesthetic at the moment.
More often than not, I post about Lana Del Rey, but I still love other movies and may make references too.
Harry Potter 🪄
Melanie Martinez 🧚
Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children 🏚️
Fear Street 🪓
The Hunger Games 🏹
The Tudors 🗡️
The Virgin Suicides 👑
Scream 🔪
Priscilla 💄
Thirteen 🚬
Tumblr media
Along with that, I often just use most words, and I very recently started making mood boards.
Now for more details about me.
I am 15 years old
I am Bisexual.
My MBTI is ESTP.
Tumblr media
I do like fan fiction so feel free to message me snippets of any work you are working on, and I will judge it fairly.
With that also said, I will not be reading any fan fiction with pedophelic relationships; this includes any universe where a person is originally 18 or older but, due to time travel, is aged down to a minor.
I will also not be reading NSFW content, and any of that content will result in you getting blocked.
Tumblr media
I won’t be having any of my social media accounts in this area due to the creepy men and women on the internet, but I do have Pinterest and TikTok with some of my pins and fun reposts.
So if you're interested, please message me, and I will give you my username.
But I also recently found a master post with every unreleased Lana del Rey acapella, cover, demo, instrumental, monologue, music video, album, and song.
Message me if you're interested.
I also have two Spotify playlists for just-released Lana and Mel music that I have been listening to lately, so message me if you want the link to that.
Tumblr media
My blog is supposed to be a safe place for everyone of any race, gender identity, or lifestyle.
So please dni if you are racist, transphobic, or homophobic.
Please don't bash ships in my comments or show hate to those who support them in my comments.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have, and I promise I will answer them.
I also love getting messages from people, so don't hesitate to message me if you're upset about something or just to say hi.
Anyways, thank you for reading all of that have a great day!!

[Note, this is referring to the book version of this character, not the movie version]
Reasoning: She's never been shown to give a damn about sex or romance, instead focusing on the familial love she has for her charges.

I'm putting some things togetherrrr!
Nosferatu, the famous 1922 silent film - which was technically illegal because the director, F. W. Murnau didn't have the rights to Stoker's novel - featured a character called Knock. Knock was very clearly supposed to be an interpretation of Renfield. Of course, our dear bug-eating boy spends a lot of his time noshing on spiders and tending to his master Dracula's every need in the novel and its various film adaptations.
Might I now ask you to cast you minds now from Dracula to Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, the book series by Ransom Riggs. Those who have read MPHFC may already see what I'm getting at here, but allow me to further elucidate.
Caul Bentham, the big bad of the series, has a loyal right-hand man by the name of Percival Murnau. Who is so loyal, in fact, he occasionally refers to Caul as 'the master'. He also eats a shit ton of bugs and rats whilst imprisoned in Devil's Acre.
I really hope this isn't just a coincidence!! It's really cool that Murnau's Renfield-esque even if Caul isn't quite a vampire, and the fact that he could potentially be named to pay homage to F. W. Murnau is too perfect to not be deliberate.

“Once Upon A Time”
A/N: Hello everyone! Damn its been awhile! hope everyone’s having a great day! Happy new year! Heres a oneshot for now! btw this song called “Once Upon A Time” is in the oneshot! the link is here if you want to listen to it! Also, would you guys mind if I start writing for different fandoms? Please answer in the comments :D Summary: You tell the children your past with a rhyme. Alma overhears this rhyme and talks to you. Warning/s: some angst, undertale/deltarune spoilers kind of?? Fandom & Relationship/ship: Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children, Alma Peregrine x Reader.
︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶
“Please tell us Miss Y/n! We promise we wont be disappointed!” Fiona and Claire said. You were currently amidst of almost all the younger children. Horace was reading outside under the tree, while all the other younger children are around you, begging to know your past. You were an... interesting peculiar as someone might say. You did just come into the loop unplanned, nor did anyone knew you. Horace’s dream didnt even show you coming into the loop. “Alright, alright. What about a rhyme to go with it hm?” You said, finally giving up to the children's begging. You walked over to the living room and sat down. “Alright then, everyone ready?” you said, making sure everyone is ready to listen. “Every good rhyme starts with “Once Upon A Time!” You sang, clapping your hands. The children clapping along with you. “Long ago, Far away, Centuries before our day. Humans lived, monsters roamed, both shared earth and sky as home.” You sang once more, remembering the time you saw a few monsters in the sky, and also seeing another one near your house. Luckily, for you, they didnt see you. The reason being the next line in the ‘rhyme’ you were currently singing. “Yet this peace came undone, war was waged and humans won.” You were scared during that time, the main reason being, this happened during the war. You were lucky you even survived that one. Thanks to a friend, you managed to become immortal. You looked like a regular 24 year old, but in reality, you were an estimated 400-410 years old, and thats before you factor in the years you were in the loop. “Forced below, monsters fell. Humans trapped them with a spell.” You remembered the time you saw this happen with your own eyes. You were going to the village and took a wrong turn. There, you saw the countess with the guards. As you heard the spell itself. “Cape eas, in eternum sub monte vivent, non salvabitur.” The countess said, the monsters being put in under the cave.  “Listen children, to my words: Ebbot will eat you, beware the curse!” You sang, as you remembered the warning the countess said. Since the countess asked for everyone to come to the townhall. That exact line was what she said, unfazed that the children might be traumatized. “Monster teeth go clack, clack, clack” Your mother, sang this rhyme to you when you were 7 years old. And kept on singing it until you were 10. Now your singing it to a bunch of younger children. “If you climb the mountain, you wont come back! Human child, human child, wont turn around. Human child, Human child - oops they fell down! ” You sang once more, now changing the rhyme your mother once told you. Now it basing off your actual past, and not a rhyme your mother told you. This way they can enjoy your past, even if its dark. “Human child, human child, look out below.. down underground where the monsters go.” The serenade you were singing were currently bringing back memories. You recalled the time you failed to follow your mothers rules, and went to Mount Ebbot. You saw the monsters. They clearly were mad at humanity. “Oops dropped your heart, be careful in the dark. Someone might take it, break it apart.” Now this line, was a reference of the monsters powers. They could absorb human souls. The reason humans won was, that almost all of the monsters equal to just 1 human soul, and the monsters surrendered. That’s the main reason why the humans won. “Trouble on the left, Trouble on the right... Will you spare them, run, or fight?” You were still clapping, after all, this was considered a nursery rhyme after the war. And this helps with the children not fully understanding it. “Oops dropped your heart... Be careful in the dark. Someone might take it, break it apart. Trouble on the left, Trouble on the right, Will you spare them? Run or fight?” You sang, finally ending the song. The children were surprised, they didnt expect this, not the song of course, but you? singing? They were baffled. But while the children were happy, now having a vague description of your past, one thing you didnt know, was that, your girlfriend, Alma, overheard this ‘rhyme’ and unlike the children, she understood the meaning of this. You went about your day, trying to clear your mind of these, instances. ≪•◦ ❈Time skip to dinner! ◦•≫ “Miss Y/n, may I talk to you please?” Alma said, in a stoic voice, it being clear that this is a command, not a request. “Of course Miss Peregrine.” You said. Starting to stand up and follow Alma. You went into her office. “What is it Alma?” You asked. “Y/n, I heard your rhyme earlier, and wanted to talk about it.” She sighed, clearly disappointed. You were afraid, afraid she might dump you and throw you out of the loop. “O-of course Alma.” You said, your voice being shaky. “I’m not mad. I just wish you should’ve said it to me sooner darling.” She said, tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to fall. “I’m sorry” You sobbed, going forward, to keep her close to you. “Dont be sorry darling.” ︶꒦꒷♡꒷꒦︶

MISS KALAW
Real name: Purita Carpio
The half-human daughter of Mariang Makiling, goddess of time, earth, and tradition. Inherited some time manipulation powers herself. She and her younger brother Bernardo lived peaceful lives during the colonial era, but their relationship fell apart when he wanted to rule over humans and became a rampaging giant as a result. She and her mother were able to stop him, and he became imprisoned under a mountain.
She heads a School for the Gifted, taking in swellbloom kids who are rejected by society.
+
Miss Kalaw features in my "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, but make it Filipino" premised campaign! It was a lot of fun including all sorts of references in her lore:
She has time powers just like Miss Peregrine and other ymbrynes. Her name is also after a bird, the hornbill (called "clocks of the forest" and the symbolic animal of her mother as well in Swellbloom Kids canon).
Her first name (Purita) combined with her pseudonym forms Purita Kalaw, a reference to the real-life writer and art critic.
Of course, her surname is Carpio because her brother is Bernardo Carpio.
She's a bit of a tragic figure, missing her imprisoned brother but also feeling that it's for the best. Her daughter Marcela is attempting to mend the rift, which only causes more friction in their relationship.

The Fallout TV Show Is Good – Season 1 Review

The Fallout TV Show Is Good – Season 1 Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am not a Fallout fan. I’ve always admired the games and dabbled with them for a few hours here and there, but it was never a series that inspired excitement in me. I am, however, a fan of the Fallout show’s creators, Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy. The two worked together on Westworld and though my fandom faded over time, I will always hold up the first season as some of my favorite television ever. I went into Amazon’s Fallout adaptation with unsure expectations. Video game movies and TV shows have improved in recent years, but I will always be hesitant. And time has frequently proven that one successful project from a creator (or a pair in this case) does not automatically equal success in another. Thankfully, however, the Fallout show is scary, violent, funny, weird, intriguing, reverential, and somehow also optimistic – a feeling I have not received from apocalyptic fiction in some time.
[embedded content]
Following a few disparate characters and taking place along a few different timelines (in typical Nolan fashion), Fallout primarily follows Lucy MacLean, played by Ella Purnell (Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children), who exits her comfortable underground vault to enter a horrifying wasteland. Through her eyes, we learn how this world works and how absolutely terrible it can be, and I enjoyed watching her optimism crest and valley throughout the show.
Every other primary character is exciting to follow in different ways. Maximus (Aaron Moten) is a motivated apprentice in the Brotherhood of Steel, and learning how the powerful cult functions through his perspective is educational and often surprisingly funny. Lucy’s intimate knowledge of a nearly safe, functional underground world and Maximus’ education on how to survive in a hellscape lead to surprising overlap and unexpected comedy.
Beyond its overall tone – a world filled with violent delights in a science-fiction setting – Cooper Howard, played by Walton Goggins (Justified), is perhaps the most direct line to Westworld. He is reminiscent of the Man in Black in Nolan and Joy’s sci-fi western, a violent cowboy with intimate knowledge of the world that he puts to frequent, terrifying use. Goggins is the kind of actor who effortlessly stands out in any cast, and even behind Ghoul prosthetics, Fallout is no exception. Goggins has one of my favorite lines in the show, citing the danger of getting distracted by bulls*** when trying to complete a primary mission. It is effective as a standalone joke and a reference to the inspirational video game.
An unexpected highlight for me is Thaddeus, played by Johnny Pemberton (Superstore). Arguably the fourth lead, Pemberton is representative of my favorite thing about the Fallout show: the comedy. Pemberton is one of many comedic actors and outright comedians who appear in the show, but they are not overt punchline machines winking to the audience about the absurdity of the world. Instead, they play straight-ahead characters doing their best to survive who occasionally have lines that catch me off guard and make me laugh out loud. One of my favorite scenes in the show is later in the season when Pemberton’s Thaddeus is chatting about fiddle music with an actor whose appearance I won’t spoil. It’s a small, quiet moment that is hilarious, tense, and dangerous all at once. It’s the kind of moment and tone that lends Fallout a surprising amount of needed levity in a world filled with look-away-from-the-TV violence at nearly every new location.
And then, on top of all that good science fiction comedy and the time-jumping stories coalescing in an exciting finale, is the Fallout of it all. The Fallout wiki mods will make the call after the show has completed, but from my perspective, it feels like it could all be canon. Not a separate universe or a retelling of a known Fallout story, but rather a series of events that could conceivably take place before or after any of the games, which is what I want from a good adaptation. I like Fallout as an extension of the games rather than a retelling or something separate that happens to look familiar. The rewards for Fallout players are frequent (as my Fallout fan wife excitedly pointed out often), but for those like me with a passing interest in the franchise, what exists here is an excellent, original story in that established universe. Plus, some good jokes.
Additional thoughts:
Does the Dogmeat die? No. But she does get injured. A newborn puppy is also killed in the beginning of episode 2.
The jokes about the dangers of corporate structure hit especially hard in 2024
The violence is extreme, but is often so over the top, that you can’t take it seriously
The Brotherhood of Steel Power Armor actually looks cool!
It is fun to see Michael Emerson (Lost) play a character with opaque motivations again
Between Fallout and Oppenheimer, it is weird that brothers Jonathan and Christopher Nolan have taken different roads to discuss socialism and the dangers of nuclear disaster
I hope a potential season two focuses more on Thaddeus, my favorite character

Millard Nullings in the books is so autistic coded.
It all makes sense.
His intense interests and knowledge: We know he is one of the smartest characters in the whole series. He spent years of collecting data on peculiar history and wrote many books! Also about their loop, he wanted to know about everything happening on the island, down to the smallest details. I'm pretty sure Emma says something about how he spent 3 years just studying the pigs around the island. Does that sound neurotypical to you?
The loop studying gets us to the second reason:
Need for routine: Millard's research and documentation are highly methodical. His dedication to order and structure is something he values deeply. Which just shows in the way he tries to keep everything written down happening in their loop.
Sensory issues: We know he rarely wears clothing and I'm pretty sure that it is mentioned that it's because he wants to appear invisible more often. But I think his hate for clothing could also be related to sensory issues!
Literal Thinking and Social Quirks: Millard is blunt and matter-of-fact in many of his interactions. He sometimes struggles with social norms, coming across as aloof or odd to others. This could be read as difficulty navigating neurotypical social expectations.
Preference for Solitude: He often isolates himself to focus on his work or pursuits, which could reflect the need for alone time to recharge, common among autistic individuals.
he is my fave character from the series and I'm autistic and I relate to him a lot so i thought I could make a little something!

Hello, I'm an aspiring author whom you may refer to as Mallory! I use they/them pronouns and enjoy creative writing. I'm experimenting with writing fanfiction publicly, and in this post I'll explain what I write for so you know what to request. Please before sending me a request read what and who I'll write for, as well as what I won't write!
⋆˙⟡☾ About Me ☽ ⟡˙⋆
☆Mallory
☆They/them
☆Minor
☆Bisexual and nonbinary
☆Autistic
⋆˙⟡☾ Things I will write ☽⟡˙⋆
Note: I write both x reader (in both a platonic/familial and romantic context) and not x reader fanfictions!
Additional note: Even if your desired fandom isn't on this list, if I'm familiar with the media I'll try my best to write it! This list is always changing and expanding :).
Final note: I prefer not to write about characters in a romantic setting if they are more than a year younger than me, since as an older teen writing about people younger than that means I'm writing about a character with a different level of maturity than my own, and I'm not comfortable with that.
Fandoms:
☆Alice in Wonderland (2010 & 2016)
☆Arcane
☆Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water
☆Baldur's Gate 3
☆Lord of the Rings
☆Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (books and movie)
☆Slashers (Important note- just because I enjoy slasher films does not mean that I condone violence, nor that my enjoyment of these films bleeds into real life. I condemn violence in any way that impacts real people, and will never, ever condone such actions)
☆Star Trek: The Original Series
☆Star Trek: The Next Generation
☆Stranger Things
⋆˙⟡☾ Things I will not write ☽ ⟡˙⋆

Rust in the Root, by Justina Ireland
Tumblr media
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Laura is a young Black mage in 1937 America, a land reeling from the effects of the Great Rust and the Blights that cover huge swaths of the country. While the country has put its trust in Mechomancy, an industrial discipline, Laura sees a way forward using traditional magical arts to manipulate the forces of Dynamism. But her path to a mage license will take her into the oldest, bleakest Blight of them all, confronting both their origin and the enduring threat they pose.
Justina Ireland has done it again. As in her previous series, the world building is top-notch, with constant references to real-world events encountered through the lens of her own alternate history. For example, the Great Rust stood in for the events immediately preceding and concurrent with our own Great Depression. While obviously nothing quite so magical had happened in our own world, the impact on the economy and mental state of the country was similar. Some of the references were jarring. For example, when I neared the end and a character described having seen a tree with "strange fruit" hanging, I stopped reading for a second and said, oh no. It was most definitely a Billie Holiday reference, and the author did not pull punches with the eventual depiction of said tree.
The magic system was interesting as well, though I feel like the theme has been done before in YA. Maybe that particular use of the "chosen one is better at everything" trope wasn't what the author was going for, but it was unclear, because most of the characters spent the majority of the book barely able to use their magic. We hardly got to see anyone other than our main character ravel! I would've liked to explore deeper, especially at the intersections between types of magic.
I enjoyed the way the story was told, alternating traditional chapters with fragments of mission reports, diary entries, and so on. The scrapbook pages, however, did not work for me. They were very interesting photos, and I can see why they were inspiring for the author, but they felt shoehorned in. I've seen this gimmick used before to better effect(Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children(the first one) immediately comes to mind), so it overall fell flat for me. I think I might have appreciated it more presented as an appendix of sorts, rather than integrated with the story.
I was appreciative of the casual queerness in this book. The main character is sapphic, but doesn't have a romantic side plot, she just is that way even though it "doesn't matter" to the story. This is something you'll sometimes see with straight characters but it's more rare for queer characters, especially in YA. There's also two secondary characters who are gay men in a relationship together.

What the World Thinks of "Wednesday"
Tumblr media
A compilation of some headlines about Wednesday from various publications since the series debuted in November 2022, showing different views of the series.
Since it's debut on Netflix on November 23, 2022, Wednesday, a live-action supernatural coming-of-age comedy horror series, has been all the rage online. Thanks to its unprecedented popularity, those on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, Tik Tok, and Tumblr, in thinkpieces, and elsewhere, have reviewed the series, providing their own views and perspectives. This reception often focuses on potential queerbaiting, anti-Black undertones, or something else entirely.
Reprinted from Pop Culture Maniacs and Wayback Machine. This was the nineteenth article I wrote for Pop Culture Maniacs. This post was originally published on January 9, 2023.
A major point of contention for reviewers has been the lack of LGBTQ representation, especially when it comes to the protagonist, Wednesday Addams (played by Jenna Ortega). For example, Petrana Rudolvic of Polygon argued that "Wednesday doesn’t need a love triangle, she needs a werewolf girlfriend", referring to Wednesday's roommate, Enid Sinclair. Their romantic ship, popular in the show's fandom and in fanfictions, has been dubbed "Wenclair" by fans which embrace it. This ship has been embraced by Ortega herself, something which some LGBTQ newsletters have pointed out.
Others, like Abby Monteil of Them magazine, have declared "Let Wednesday Addams Be Gay". Monteil added that Wednesday is a "queer icon" due to her close friendship with Enid. These views are reinforced by those fans who believe that the series is queerbaiting because their Wenclair headcanon did not happen.
However, such claims are tricky. This is because, as David Opie of Digital Spy admitted, the show "never really promised anything queer outright", at least not the way that Wenclair fans had hoped for. Additional fans pointed to chemistry between Wednesday and Bianca during the scenes where they act side-by-side.
There is undoubtedly chemistry between Enid and Wednesday, and nice scenes of them together, including when they hug each other, or when Enid saves Wednesday from the monster. However, it is clear that both characters were intended to only be friends in this story, and nothing more. Furthermore, Enid and Wednesday have romances with men. Enid has a short-lived relationship with Lucas and off-and-on relationship with Ajax Petropolus (played by Georgie Farmer). Wednesday has a relationship with Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan), who is the the son of Sheriff Galpin. The latter falls apart when Wednesday learns that Tyler is the monster, the hyde, who has been haunting the school and killing people.
On the other hand, some fans believed that there were clear asexual, or even aromantic, vibes from Wednesday, citing that she detested friendship and connecting with people. Wednesday prefers solitude, even though her burgeoning friendships with Enid, Eugene, and Xavier indicate that invisible walls she erected around herself are coming down. It is possible that Wednesday will have a LGBTQ storyline in a second season, exploring her possible asexual, lesbian, or bisexual identity.
youtube
The series has also been hit with accusations it is racist, and with anti-Black undertones, on Twitter and elsewhere. The latter is reinforced, in the minds of some, by previous comments from Tim Burton defending his casting choices in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children, which had a cast with little diversity. Some went further, claiming that his previous films featured token characters of color, downplayed Jewish cultural elements, or had stereotypes of overweight people.
Various social media users have criticized portrayal of Black characters as "villains and bullies" of Wednesday. This includes a focus on Bianca as a mean girl and Lucas Walker (portrayed by Iman Marson) as a bully. The latter is the son of a corrupt mayor of Jericho, Noble Walker (portrayed by Tommie Earl Jenkins) who owns Pilgrim Land. As a result, the strong Latine representation in the series is offset by the Black characters painted as a villain.
While the criticisms of racism in Wednesday is well-intentioned, they distort the reality. For one, Bianca and Lucas are redeemed by the end of the series, which is only eight episodes long. Both help Wednesday fight off Joseph Crackstone and capture the suspected hyde. Crackstone is many times worse than Jack Skellington in The Nightmare Before Christmas, a film by Burton, a character which some have described as a colonizer.
Also, the deputy of Sheriff Galpin, Ritchie Santiago (portrayed by Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo), is a Black woman. Bianca has more depth in her character Callie, a mean girl in Cleopatra in Space. For one, viewers learn about how Bianca fell out her mother, changed her name to distance herself from the Morning Song cult which her mother is a part of, and joined the Nightshades. She is integral to the story because she is Xavier's ex-girlfriend. Lucas assists Wednesday by providing information which helps her recognize who the monster really is, and he connects with Bianca.
Mayor Walker, a Black man, stands out as a negative character. He is easily manipulated and propped up by Principal Weems, who keeps him in power to hide the reality of Nevermore Academy. Near the end of the series, he is killed by the hyde because he was about to meet with Sheriff Galpin. An interview with his actor, Jenkins, could shed more light on his character.
youtube
Beyond possible anti-Black undertones and lack of queer representation in Wednesday criticized by reviewers and fans, some have said the series was two-dimensional, similar to CW dramas, and noted its appeal to Generation Z. There is a case to be made that Wednesday uses elements employed in the Harry Potter films, based on the Harry Potter books by transphobic author J.K. Rowling.
Such criticisms were reflected on Rotten Tomatoes, New York Times, The Wrap, The Independent, and elsewhere. In contrast, some reviewers described the series in generally favorable terms, calling it as a "rococo romp" that is delightful, visually appealing, and praised the deadpan humor of Ortega. This is in line with those who argue that Wednesday's eyes convey emotional truth as she is never shown blinking, not even once, in the series.
However, Wednesday's appearance is not unique. Characters such as Kaisa in Hilda and Amity Blight in The Owl House are likely shown in black-colored clothes with for the same reasons. Furthermore, Wednesday's demeanor has caused her to become an icon, especially to those in the LGBTQ community. The franchise itself has been popular enough to influence series such as Dead End: Paranormal Park, and designs of characters in The Flintsones and The Simpsons.
The series, listed as one of the best TV shows of 2022, garnered various award nominations, and certain scenes became a viral sensation. This included Wednesday's dance scene, shared on TikTok by celebrities, and as a song on Spotify.
Songs used in Wednesday, like the 1981 song "Goo Goo Muck" by the Cramps, surged in popularity. The Guardian argued that the viral dance trend, which mainly spread on Tik Tok, "may have single-handedly revived Gothic subculture for Gen Z", causing the show to become a "pop culture phenomenon".
On the whole, despite the fact that Wednesday has achieved immense popularity, its reception is varied. It is hard to know how if this popularity will last or whether it will become passing fad like The Queen's Gambit and Mrs. America in 2020 or Maid in 2021. With a second season now ordered by Netflix, we shall see if it’s popularity can endure.
