I'm debating trying to run a character week for Leaf from April 22-28 so it falls on Earth Day, but I don't think anyone would care 😭 Nobody likes her...in a game where the protagonists are just avatars, how do you flop as a character so bad and even when you're finally canonized, to be so meh to people they decide her and Green just *have* to be different characters, 100% same design, role in the trio, bag, and battle pose just colors inverted who? Featured merch with Squirtle, Gengar, and Clefable who? LGPE Red looks different from FRLG Red too, that's just how updated graphics for Gen 1 designs go. You'd think that would mean the fandom would care about just the LGPE interpretation but there's nothing for Green either lmao. So instead I'm here to tick off as many people as possible who go looking for Reguri fics and Dad Lance and Silver specific content by straight up refusing to write Leaf as a bubbly airhead, a girlboss wingwomen, or literally any other way I disliked regarding women in fic...though, it wouldn't be false advertisement to begin with. I think the trio deserves to be an actual trio, and that dad Lance can't go being a dad/weird older brother who left for college to Red and Blue and just. exclude Leaf. nobody may care about my vision but that is ok, I need to be the change I want to see in the world and maybe I will convert some people along the way.

I'm very happy to hear you're enjoying yourself despite my own low opinion about much of what I put out. I'll do my best to answer!

Hmm I always dislike picking favorites because I'm bad at picking eheh... But the ones I liked most... I honestly enjoy T&I and COA (1-5) even more than the main story. So I think I might pick... Atropos' Ropes for T&I and for COA, thats harder... 3-5 are my faves but I might pick 4 just because of how it felt it had the most story/details given than all the rest. Even the *SONG* had story. I loved it.

Least fave, eh... Orfeo and Zinaida immediately come to mind, though Orfeo I'd say was worse... COA 1 is another primarily because of how DIFFICULT it was for me to figure it out enough to put together an analysis. And I had to rewrite that thing at LEAST 3 times to the point I'm just hoping it's good enough and leaving it alone. Time of Reunion I think is another that comes to mind, mainly because I didn't appreciate how they treated Norton in there, especially in the videos (but at least those aren't canon like the in-game event was). So based on all that, I might say Orfeo if I really had to pick 1. Then rank ToR 2nd and Zinaida/COA1 3rd.

FF14 and Honkai Star Rail especially I'm playing actively these days, but I honestly like a lot of stuff. Like Persona (espeially 4), 999 aka Zero Escape, and Star Ocean Til the End of Time. Least in terms of games.

Hmm... Maybe because the 1st reason I play a game is because of the story, and gameplay is always 2nd to me. If the story and characters are good, that gets me interested. Issue with IDV is we only get bits and pieces. Really need to look deeper to really understand some of the characters. I actually only started analyzing because I challenged myself (partially out of curiosity for the answer) to see if I could prove if Norton wasn't as evil as people thought (based on all the comments I saw when I 1st joined the fandom a long while ago). From there, there was Jose who I wanted to analyze because he honestly had so many plot holes I couldn't (and still can't completely) solve. So I get the most enjoyment analyzing something that doesn't have a clear answer. Which is why I don't always post for every letter. A big part of it is I enjoy history and culture and such, so it's fun for me to learn about different foods, or time periods, or how bad the environment was for miners or sailors back in the day, etc... I dont think I have an easy answer (I can see I'm rambling). Norton I actually only began to like because I was spending so long working on my 1st analysis for him (and my perfectionism made me analyze all of Norton's essences before i could call it finished). Jose was because I love Captain Hook, and then after because of the plot holes that bothered me. Then for others, I think I enjoy making analyses to... try to sometimes change people's opinoions/beliefs. Like with Margaretha or Vera. With Edgar was because I was more interested in his story and him as a character only once I put together all his lore. Sort of goes on from there. I could ramble on but I'm going to get even more guilty. I hope this helps somewhat, but let me know if it doesn't and I'll keep going. Maybe the simple is A) I like history/culture/research, B) I like to convince people that certain characters arent as evil as they think or change beliefs I think aren't quite accurate, C) I like solving puzzles and I love story, D) I already think too hard about literally everything, and combined with my perfectionism, we get analysis

for some reason i literally cannot stop thinking about mlp!stone with a broken horn. because in gen4, im 99% sure there was literally only 1 occasion on camera where we saw a pony with a broken horn (aka tempest shadow/fizzlepop berrytwist my QUEEN) and she was in the fucking movie and girlie got mauled by a literal magical bear then, as a literal child. so now im going down a full thought rabbit hole of "what if pony horns are like human skulls. very soft and moldable for the first little while until it solidifies" cuz like maybe thats a reason the magical bear managed to rip it off, cuz they were literally thought to be indestructible (in fanon) before then!!!!!! idk i am very much so thinking way too deeply about this. and that brings me to pony!stone. because. how the fuck would be manage to get his horn shattered? i mean. theres an onslaught of OP magical beings in the mlp universe (read: the fucking magical space bear from before). and like. the only thoughts that come to mind are either like. it happened because a certain awful father. or. in the caunterlot royal guard. if thats where we're even placing him. and an idea just came to me where hes a changeling and simply takes on that body to appear like an easier target (which he absolutely is not. this horse has a license to kill). but idk if changelings as a species even fit him. cuz they all get reformed in the end and stuff. so back to horse he goes. but that still doesnt answer the question. tirek and king sombra are still in the equasion though. but sombra's a weak ass bitchbaby so that means tirek is the answer. with his freaky ass 12 year old side-kick. and i mean. there was that one epic fight scene going on with like a shit tonna magical energy so yknow. he couldve been gotten hit. if it werent for the fact the fight took place in fucking NOWHERE. so now im mad again. and unfortunately the falloutxmlp crossover books arent canon. cuz that sure wouldve made this a whole bunch easier. so. back to a certain father we go. sorry stone, into the meat grinder with you </3. wait wouldnt a damaged horn count as a disability. so. would he even be allowed in the horse army. what. oh no. eh fuck it hes already fucked up in canon and that version of him gets to be there. so. why not at this point

i feel that, i know it's not all black and white, but the thing is that their fates are kinda woven into the plot as these inevitable main plot points, and what deviates is only how they get there. it mirrors the ancient greek philosophy that "everyone ends up in hades", no matter what you do, you'll die anyway.

how i think about jason joining luke would be like this, and yeah its a lot that i didnt mention in my original post, but i'd like to offer my thoughts anyway:

a) as a greek+roman demigod (the ONLY ONE in the whole series, mind you, so its hard to tell if this is applicable at all) he wouldn't feel at home anywhere. not in chb, not in cj. sure, cbh in the later hoo books felt like home most of the time, but id like to think his roman upbringing made him yearn for freedom. using that logic, if he was brought up in chb, then the rules and strict training would actually help him, as opposed to canon. (hard to explain, but everything he doesnt like abt cj would be what he likes (EXCEPT CHILD SOLDIER-ING, OBVIOUSLY) and vice versa).

b) his childhood. yeah, if he was born greek, he'd be brought up by chiron and the others at chb. that didnt stop luke though. his dad being a total dick sure all hell isnt going to stop him. luke had trauma due to his mother going insane because of hermes and thats what drove him, along the hope of being recognized by his father and having value to people in general. luke is an extremely complex character, and while i understand most people dont like him for the murder part, as a literature student i understand him on a very deep level. growing up in a world where the only way you can be recognized by your own father is to either die heroically or complete an extremely traumatizing quest is NOT the best. jason, who we know likely has those same frustrations (with cj specifically, especially when he's the son of jupiter/zeus), it would likely eat at him for years. never being sent on quests, never having his value proven. add that to the fact that he's a child of the big 3, and you've got a big problem on your hands. i like to think he wouldn't be killed because he was brought to camp so young by beryl (instead of lupa). isolation, frustration, admiration-- all of that inevitably leads to resentment, just like luke. thalia is a WHOLE other deal, but i like to think that if jason was born greek, thalia would be born roman. not a 1:1 switch, but of the sort. maybe not, even, and it could only get worse because thalia "dies" before they can be reunited, and the image of cruel gods is only reinforced for jason and luke. it's something they could bond over, since luke and thalia lived together on the run for several years.

c) kronos. okay yeah. you were right on that one. he's cruel. he's deceptive. he's a total asshole. but there is a reason why luke tried so hard to recruit percy to kronos' cause despite all the things he's done. percy couldv'e been an asset. if nothing else, he's a weapon. in the end, i believe jason would betray luke in a similar fashion as ethan or silena. information, or just turning the tide. maybe he'd die then. maybe he wouldn't. but the fact that he exists at all is an asset even kronos cannot ignore. the leaders of the titans killed their own soldiers, yes, but they didnt kill luke, even if all he brought was a body to be used. it's all about assets in war, especially with cruel gods like the titans. you cant forget the original gods either. everybody and their mom are assholes. kronos, just for trying to "bring justice" to his children (we know thats BS, but luke and jason didn't), would get on jason's "eh" side. but the thing is, we dont know exactly how he acted during the titan war. we dont have his kill count. we have percy's, and his fatal flaw is literally loyalty, and hes killed in the thousands. jason's fatal flaw is built on his childhood memories, and whos to say he wouldn't kill in order to be recognized (as anything? luke was regarded as a hero as he died. maybe jason would just want to be seen by his father, at all). who's to say he HASNT killed in the legion? we dont get enough of NR's pov for the titan war and that makes me mad, but i am CERTAIN there were demigods protecting the throne on othrys. maybe that loving personality youre talking about is what destroys kronos in the end. it has jason noticing kronos is taking advantage of all of them, and he cant have that.

anyway big fat rant. i get your point, i guess, but with all the right circumstances, jason does have one of the biggest chances at being on luke's side. most of the posts like this also get me cringing a little, including my own (and this one by extension), but ive been thinking about it since i read TLH. pulling the amnesia card was so wrong of rick to do imo, especially since we never know whether he does end up remembering anything.

if nothing else, i'd like to believe jason would at least understand where luke was coming from (like percy did in the end), and maybe empathise with him. if greek jason didnt join him and sided with percy instead, he would still understand luke and what he did and why he did it. because he's nice like that.

(maybe jason betraying them would be luke's final straw before he killed himself. having the one guy you thought fully understood you and shared your anger stand with your enemy.)

there are so many loopholes in my thinking, but most of them are because of the actual canon plotholes. who led the people on othrys? was there a roman equivalent to luke? who defended othrys in general? like i cant believe all of kronos' forces were ONLY in manhattan at the time. there's just no way.

IF JASON GRACE WAS BORN GREEK HE WOULD'VE BEEN ON LUKE'S SIDE. i am in shambles.

his mother was abusive and left him for dead as an infant. thalia left him too, and ended up dying before they could meet again (pre-ttc). he grew up with wolves or at least had to fend for himself since infancy, so he'll always be the odd one out even in a camp where kids just Do that. he's the son of a god who wanted kids just to one-up his brothers. hes the son of a mother who wanted glory and not love. and even then, through wars and quests, he would still do whatever his dad wanted him to to just get that sliver of HOPE to be recognized. thats just how he is.

and then when he realizes his father will never love him the way he wants him to, he'll lose it.

this isnt as coherent as i wish it was but i just realized and it hurts. they are so similar and yet so different.

When I started shipping them:

Right around when JJK season 1 anime started, although I actually wasn't watching the series but rather serendipitously stumbled across a complication of Gojo and Utahime interaction clips on youtube...the rest is history

My thoughts:

For Gojo, despite the teasing about her being weak its really his way of flirting because his other methods dont work (as far as getting that kind of direct attention from her). It's implicitly implied he trusts and cares for Utahime- going directly to her about the mole investigation and his train of thought immediately assessing her situation after he used purple hollow, among other things.

As for Utahime, i love how informal/combative she is with him despite him being the world's most powerful (and possibly unhinged) sorcerer- that doesnt seems to factor at all in their interactions and suggests to me a comfortable familiarity in their relationship.

Overall im just a huge whore for these two idiots- their chaotic dynamic reminds me very much of my relationship with my own himbo XD

What makes me happy about them:

I like to think Gojo's been madly in love with her for so long and his plan all along is to annoy her to the point where she becomes madly and homicidally in love with him which is a dynamic i LIVE for XD

What makes me sad about them:

Having been scarred by many a male shounen mangaka, i highly doubt they'll be made officially canon but a slut can dream eh?

Things done in fanfic that annoys me:

I havent read anything in nearly a year (currently suffering from readers block as i try to write my own fic) but does seem like a prevalent fanon is that Gojo is...uh, how to put this delicately.....rapey? (As far as smut fics go anyway, i dont read anything else lol). Not judging if thats what youre into, but anyone who knows me knows i have a mutual respect kink so its hard for me to invest in those kind of fics. Im a whore for my stupid soft simpy himbos :D

Also with Utahime 30+, i like to think that a) shes old enough to be comfortable with who she is as a person and wouldnt be insecure around an idiot like Gojo b) not a virgin/wasn't waiting just around for him. Mainly because im not into the "purity" culture or the whole notion of remaining a virgin makes a character objectively "pure" or "good"- it reeks of misogyny/patriarchal social conventions and i just cant vibe with it

i never respond to posts that i disagree with, i usually just block and move on, but this one irritated me. especially since i agree with a lot of points said, but theyre surrounded by stuff that i feel like is super misleading the way you phrased it. im just gonna go point by point

i almost thought this was going to be a post i agreed with until i finished the first paragraph. its fine to not like the real time sonic fandubs, but saying Snapcube has been "spamming" them for four years is harsh -- over the course of six years, a total of four sonic fandubs have come out. say what you want about their contents, but i think its unfair to frame it like they were a constant stream of content. additionally, in recent years a lot of people have been singing their praises of early modern sonic; i dont usually see that much hate for games like Adventure 1 and 2, the storybook duology, etc. hell, even 06 has been getting a lot of love recently (though i also dont really venture outside of tumblr. maybe things are different on other platforms? i know that youtube was especially harsh on early modern sonic)

i also havent seen many people praise the new voice cast, though again, that could just be the bubble im in. in general, though, i think that things like the characters voices just comes down to personal preferences, and thats fine! im more of a 4kids sonic x dub voice cast fan myself, and i have my own opinions about the current cast, but thats just how preference works.

Ian Flynn has been writing for the sonic franchise since 2006, when he started writing for the Archie comics. whether or not you like his writing isnt an issue (like ive been saying, personal preference is its own thing, even if i disagree), but Flynn isnt, like, the sole writer when he works on sonic -- thats just not how writing works, especially not for a franchise as large as sonic. writers work under mandates and are given notes for everything. in Flynn's case, hes stated before that specifically the TailsTube scripts are all reviewed by Takashi Iizuka, the creative officer for sonic and the head of Sonic Team. additionally, it's been said before at the end of Tails' 30th anniversary comic that SEGA double checks everything with the comics -- from scripts to thumbnails to finals, they have a close eye on the whole team's work. Flynn isn't just doing whatever he wants, and hes not writing these alone. using one writer as a scapegoat for why you dont like the franchise as it stands currently is unproductive at best when the writing for Sonic is an extremely collaborative process

(im not going over all of the bullet points you listed, but i have never once seen someone say the sonic fandubs are canon. like, not once. theyre literally listed as fandubs? as ive stated before, we may just be in different parts of the internet, so im willing to believe that some people just dont know what theyre talking about)

New Fans also praise the current voice cast, which sucks because a majority them don't fit the characters

Also a lot of people seem to forget that the franchise was niche/hated during the 2010s, people didn't give a flying fuck about Sonic and even if they did, they brought it up just to shit on it, it was especially worse when Forces and the Ugly Sonic design came out, everything about Sonic in the 2010s was mocking it, nonstop memes and people saying the franchise only works in 2D (What's worse is that Sonic Mania indirectly proved them right)/was never good, etc

Sonic hate is a lot less common nowadays due to the movies, (mocking Sonic 06 is still brought up to this day tho), however i feel like most of it is people pretending to like Sonic, majority of Sonic praise nowadays comes from the Movies or Frontiers's vocal tracks (because of Kellen Quinn), it also goes back to my previous point with people liking the mischaracterised versions of the characters better

The big two Sonic content coming out this year are Sonic x Shadow Generations and Sonic Movie 3, which has a lot of people hyped because of Shadow the Hedgehog, but it also goes back to my previous point of people pretending to like Sonic, Shadow was heavily disliked by critics and the general audience for being a "edgelord" and looking like a Deviantart OC, so why are people switching up now?

Also from a majority of reactions I've seen, they'll say shit like "Shadow has always been my favorite character" but they don't even know his backstory and when see Black Doom, Maria or Gerald, they go "Who is this!?" (Or make an obnoxious Snapcube joke), I've even seen people ask for Silver, who is a character who was more hated than Shadow and know less about, I doubt they even know he's from the future

All this shit makes me scared that by the time both of these come out, that I'm gonna have to gatekeep the fuck out of this franchise, which is something don't wanna have to do, I just wanna live in a world where the franchise isn't a laughing stock and people actually the franchise unironically

i got this ask and then forgot about it for like 2 days. anyways.

IVE ANSWERED THIS BEFORE BUT. GOD. LEON. ok so like....... long story short last year was when i first played resident evil........ bc we got a copy of re2remake in and.... jesus christ. i hyperfixated so fucking hard for the better part of a year going on into this year. and then i watched hl/vr and well. we know where that went. but now i am once again hyperfixated and now im back to where i was in like.... june of last year LMAO. but anyways i am once again going to ramble under the cut about them <3 (seriously. its very long and doesnt go much of anywhere. also spoilers)

tl/dr:

OK. SO. resident evil. the last time i answered this ask i either hadnt played some of them or just completely forgot the plot of others LOL but now upon beating/playing a large majority of them (besides 6 which i have not touched yet, and 7 is first person and im not rly interested in it rn)...... well others have said this as well but if you like cheesy b action movies you would love resident evil!!! 

the orig 1-2 are more survival horror which is what i like the most. 3 is where it starts branching into more actiony stuff but is still survival horror. but 4 and after is just like..... cheesy action stuff which is fine but not really like.... my thing. altho i do think that they are fun in a “this plot is hilariously bad” type way because i do enjoy horrible things. but people who like resident evil dont like it for the plot they like it for the characters. and for me i latched the fuck onto leon kennedy and tyrant t-00 aka mr fucking x

listen.......... you guys know me relatively well enough to know that i have a type......... and i would define leon as not really fitting under it usually because he is 1. under 6 foot 2. human and 3. very much not a villain. but something about (mostly remake) leon hits fucking different!!!!!! hes kind and means well, thinks about others constantly, looks like an actual fucking person in the in game graphics instead of being some manufactured perfect model, nice voice, etc....... i fucking care him so much. also gameplay wise i find his weapons to be more enjoyable than claires so i always end up playing his route/2nd route the most compared to hers. but i do also like claire :) shes nice and epic

i dont really like the newer leons (4 and afterwards) as much.... i mean a lot of it has to do with trauma and general “growing up” after what happened in re2 but hes just so constantly... snarky? jaded? constantly spouting lines to make him seem cool? when in my head hes very much like... a loser LMAO. i mean dont get me wrong hes a badass. he survives a fucking zombie outbreak and nearly gets murdered dozens of time. thats the definition of badass. but also you cannot change my mind that hes also a anxious loser twunk. there is literally nothing you can do to convince me he is “cool” like the games and movies want to think. this is probably heresy to re fans but this is my truth

but yes ive basically decided to ignore all characterization from re4 and onwards regarding leon at least. every leon after that is not my leon (except in special cases when im thinking about something like leon/jd from re damnation..... they did jd so dirty and they should have fucking kissed. or how cute he looked in vendetta sometimes)

so basically there are these enemies in resident evil called “tyrants” that are manufactured by the evil capitalist company umbrella that are near indestructible save for like.... rocket launchers or super heavy artillery that youre not buying at your local gun store. and in re2 one of them get sent to the police station where leon and claire are and is told to wipe out all witnesses. (i also do think that 2 or more were sent there... or at least in the area when this happened due to some very obvious plot hole stuff on each route no matter how you play, even tho the devs have come out and said that only 1 existed in the game and that each route is like “a parallel dimension” to each other. i wont go into it more than that but i choose to ignore that)

and well. when i first played it i knew of mr x but didnt like... know much about him other than that he was a monster and Tall (like 7 or 8 feet tall) and that he chased you around. that already sold me on him but then. well. you first encounter him because he lifts up an entire goddamn helicopter and then proceeds to chase you. and it was then that i knew i was in deep shit because he fucking stomped his way into my heart and never left.

mr x basically has serious Side Character Disorder where (even tho the remake made him very cool and epic and did him really well compared to nemesis in re3 remake which is an entire different can of worms) he has LITERALLY no personality or like. thoughts. or anything. hes only there to chase you around and be on screen for like 10 seconds for a couple of cutscenes and then not show up again until the very end of the game for you to fight on leons route. but god. he means so fucking much to me. 

you know how people latch onto random side characters that have no personality and essentially flesh them out more than the creators ever will? thats me with mr x. its gotten to the point where certain songs come on on my spotify and i actually get EMOTIONS or even TEARS because they remind me of him, but its not even really HIM, its the fucking ideas that ive come up with regarding him because all he ever does in game is chase you around and punch you and then die and is never brought up again

but anyways. mr x is a tall monster who chases leon and claire around in their routes but mr x is leons main monster in the game (claire has a different one). he chases leon around, literally never stops looking at him as he chases him, gets hit by an entire fucking car which then explodes BUT THEN chases him down into the sewers and into a secret underground lab just to get to him like a fucking bloodhound who, once he has the scent, will never stop chasing him

(you can see why this made me kind of insane)

just. AGHHH. the tyrants in this series get treated so dirty. i desperately want capcom to give us some sort of tyrant that can actually fucking like.... go against orders and brainwashing or whatever and actually have emotions and thoughts!!!!!!!!!! but capcom would never do anything with it cause its a rough and tough action series and people arent here to see tyrants have some sort of thought process beyond punching and killing and people only want to shoot guns at them instead of thinking about the possibilities of a tyrant that goes against its programming.

i so desperately want an au where mr x got the transmitter shot off of the side of his head (and while capcom never mentioned this ever many re2 fans have since decided that it is what feeds info/orders to him. i flip flop between thinking that it either is near controlling him and prevents free will and thought or that its just giving him orders and that hes just burying/hiding/not showing free will and thought in fear of being killed. either that or someone at umbrella is “piloting” him but also the whole point of tyrants is that theyre supposed to be smart enough to think for themselves somewhat so... eh). GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyways please play re2 remake at least, you dont have to know everything about re1 to like it, just go into it knowing that a few months ago in the mountains outside raccoon city claires brother chris and a few members on his team went to a mansion where they discovered umbrella doing shady zombie shit there. re2 remake was hyped up for years for a reason and it is really good, even if its short (altho i do appreciate short games in this day and age cause not every game needs to be like 60 plus hours long).

Its the thing i was teasing at in that post last night, and technically for like... four months? five? huh its been a bit since i second changed my url huh. Im not gonna go check or anything. If I were a bit more patient i wouldve waited for the archive collection become canon but im not. funfacterdroid is just more of my bran! Anyway! This post is my first impressions and opinions on each song on Back to the Egg! The Wings album i temporarily renamed myself after. (told ya i was gonna ramble wasnt i ydbfyufjd). It also happens to be the only wings album i havent listened to yet. And sure theres a bunch of singles and b-sides i havent listened to either, but this is the last one! I figured it should get some of its own treatment! I know that its gonna sound different to London Town and the two before it, cause McCulloch and English arent here. I’ve also heard that this album is bad and people called Paul a sellout because he transitioned to New Wave. New Wave is my favorite genre and I guess Wings werent ever that far from it? But they’re still a rock band at heart so i dont know how that change is going to fare. Enough introduction: Lets just go track by track! -Side One: Sunny Side Up-

I didnt expect such a threatening title to be so upbeat. Like... opposite of Beware My Love. I do think its odd that there is barely any backup singing? Its not horrible just weird that this song, out of all the openers, doesnt. That outro is very much meant to be like a darker part of the song, like the dream sequence from A Day In The Life, but god dammit this song is just so upbeat! so weirdly cheerful and gentle! And... only 3 minutes? Rockshow and Jet were 4... eh those albums had a lot less songs, this one has 13 not counting Reception! Same as London Town, which i also really like! We’re Open Tonight: Oooohhh!! Very soft, I think I know what its about but when taken literally, to me it sounds like a quaint little shop trying to lure you in, sinisterly. I think the bass is making it sound evil to me, but thats a great thing! Clearly its trying to be like another I’m Carrying but that song fucking sucks!!!!!! I also really like how its only 1 minute, something so haunting about it. Not sure if thats positive or negative but the songs cool! Spin It On: hHEHEYEHY!! Getting Closer.... 2! kinda. Its much much faster and i can barely understand the words hes saying... or what hes spinning. The backing vocals are really cool though. the lyrics mention a pinball table? Y.. you know pinball doesn't spin right? it falls.... Questionable lyrics aside, theres really not a lot of SPEEDY Wings songs! Glad that one of the few is also extremely good!

Again and Again and Again: WOW OKAY! this is sung by denny, all of these songs start pretty fast unlike a good chunk of their past work, but i really like that! But it also means i cannot process a single thing denny is saying, i think he said something about a school? and being in a bad situation? ah whatever. Denny used to be in an R&B band and i really think thats going to work here! This isnt an exactly a Rhythm-y or Bluesey song, but He’s clearly having fun! thats why i love wings in general, its easy to tell that the band was having fun recording a song! Old Siam, Sir: A-hmm. Paul’s doing his squeaky voice again... I guess that can work sometimes but its absolutely not complimenting the piano in the background. Also, I feel like a squeaky voice wouldnt work the best for a story song. A story thats pretty incomprehensible too? Who is this lady! What the fuck is this village!! This is the song you wanted to make 4 minutes? and it fades out too... how much did they record... Arrow Through Me: So this is the one that the critics liked? Its the most synth heavy which i understand why people like, I like synths too! I like how the bass (which i think is also from a synth?) lines up perfectly with the horns! Its alright, it might grow on me later, but now its just a passable song. One i wouldnt skip. Plus I really like the reverb effects, the whole album has em but this one really makes use!! Kinda bad overall though.

-Side Two: Over Easy- Rockestra Theme: Just an instrumental. But one thats really important to music history! I don’t actually know the full story to this one, but I do know that i really like it! Plus the vocal effects on Paul’s... Scatting i guess you could call it? Whatever it is, it works! To You: This sounds... eerily like Getting Closer. But bad... Eh I like that organ. Not much to say really... theres only like one verse. After the Ball / Million Miles: Oh cool another medley. Last one we got was two albums ago! I guess since this is technically two songs id have to... review them both? After the Ball is exactly what it sounds like. A gentle rock song about seeing your love after a party :)! Why Ben Solo Died

So I have quickly fallen into the Ben Solo hole. Literally as of January 10th I hadn't read a single thing about Reylo or Kylo Ren beyond having seen The Force Awakens in 2015. I had a son in 2016 and my husband and I didn’t love Rogue One so when The Last Jedi came out we shrugged and went on with our lives. Now we did visit WDW in 2018 and had pictures with Chewie and Kylo (my husband is a Kylo/Sith fan) - me it was a cool story but that was it. Come January 14 - my company does a massive firing and to cope with it I go to my Everlark A03 list and start to read. I had been on Tik Tok earlier and someone had posted the “I Need a Hero” video with Ben Solo kicking ass. so  I had this thought - “let me look up Ben and Rey on A03.”

I was hooked - started reading all of this fanfiction, looking up fanart, got back on Tumblr just like in 2014 when I fell for Everlark. Now I talked to a couple people at work and knew I needed to see the movies and finally talked my husband into watching the Sequel series and watching TROS in theaters on Saturday (1/25). I know why everyone is hurt. Ben had his redemption but his Happily Ever After - or even the acceptance by those who knew he had turned his back on the darkness was cut short. Everyone is blaming JJ Abrams for crap writing and Disney for rushing the sequels but in watching all three last week its a really good story. Here’s why I believe they killed Ben off and didn’t say goodbye in the end:

Now I’m going to get yelled at by someone who says thats bullshit or unfair or whatever but let me explain.

In the original trilogy they made a strong female character in Leia as we know its takes reading into older movies to find the #girlpower but its almost always there - just gotta realize what the women are doing - they are all strong in their own way BUT Leia was not the main character - Luke was. 

In the prequel trilogy again another strong female character in Padme but the issue here was she didnt have a lot of screentime - Obi Won and Anakin were the focus of these movies. 

So when Disney decided to continue what did they do? Write a strong female character in Rey but instead of the man being the focus they wanted Rey to be the saviour and leader with the help of Leia. Here’s where they found issues - they made the character that everyone knew from Canon and his history very appealing. They did not expect to have the redemption of Ben Solo be of focus. They knew they needed a bad guy and fans loved him after TFA - evident when you go to their merchandise or parks but the plan was to kill him or do a quick save like Vader at the end of the movies - but he wasn’t ever going to survive because they needed that final shot to be of Rey. To show a woman could carry a series and live without a man.

The only reason we got the redemption we did (again all my speculation) is because of Rian Johnson and the story he started in TLJ and the storyline of the Skywalkers - he couldnt end up bad. Now I do believe they have left the door open to continue Rey and Ben’s story but the question is will they because of comments made “This is the end of the Skywalker story��� etc. Also do Daisy and Adam want to continue the story? I DO NOT want to see anyone else play those characters but with Adam’s rise in fame its going to be hard to get anything done - and they cant wait. I do agree a quick series in Disney+ like the WandaVision would be the best option. Showing her getting him back from the WBW if thats possible. 

I purchased the extended version books this weekend to continue my obsession and if you notice I am all about posting this right now. I cant wallow any longer but i wanted to put my thoughts out there as to why Ben was killed as quickly as he was once he truly showed who he was and had nothing after.

Edit: Additional thought- JJ’s initial goal with Kylo was to create another Vader. No one refers to him as Anakin (prior to the prequels) but as Vader. The fact that he came back to the light for his son didn’t matter to anyone - he was always known as Vader. He’s one of those classic villain characters. JJ supposedly loves Star Wars and probably wanted to create a character just as memorable as Vader. That was his goal with Kylo Ren but unlike Vader who really has very little humanity until the very end we got Kylo/Ben and saw his humanity in TFA. This is why his redemption had to be stronger than Vader’s- Kylo had more humanity and we as humans want humanity to thrive. This is why we are upset about how quickly Rey gets over Ben. It’s not the fact that he died, had no lines, or whatever it’s that his mourning did not fit his plot line in the story. JJ had to bring in Palpatine because Kylo wasn’t strong enough to just flip at the end or be the evil baddie that Dey beats to have eternal happiness. he needed to do more than just take one second to throw someone off a cliff as Vader does and giving of his life to someone who is dead is so much stronger - plus it’s groundbreaking in Star Wars and ties back to Anakin so well. But again this conversation wouldn’t have happened if we had gotten one more minute of Rey grief or a quick force ghost from Leia saying thank you for my son. Something that says one of Rey’s goals is accomplished because honestly them laughing and hugging at the end said none of that. Even her taking the Skywalker name was an “eh” moment. I didn’t need Ben as a ghost or with her at the end but I wanted a tear something more than “Ben!” And move on. That’s where I think JJ got his wish.

Also you can tell Ben Solo was never end game because there is a decidedly lack of Ben Solo merchandise. Come one Funko just one figurine if Ben Solo doing their shrug in the black sweater - is it too much to ask for?

Birdie is like “should we invite him?” to Luke because she feels bad and he’s just like 

Ashton is piss faced drunk, and gets a little tired and is like, “Cal we should let Michael do something” and Cal would not be happy about it, and Ashton would be like “oh so Luke’s more chill than you? seeing as he let you fuck Birdie-” so Calum gives in, and Ashton had seen Luke being super like NO to Michael so Ashton feels bad. 

Michael is a pro with his fingers from gaming, so that and his mouth have Puppy going wild and everyone looks, even Luke and Birdie stop to look cuz wtf. and Puppy has a death grip on the sheets and his hair, and Calum is pissed because he’s supposed to be the king, and suddenly Puppy is making sounds like that. and she’s trying NOT to be loud, and to hold it in for her boys, but JESUS.

Legacy Prologue - Kalos

1) That first part DEFINITELY reminded me of the XY chapter, except Y is being the Hikikomori (shut-in) and X is trying to drag her out... It’s a good role-reversal!

I also wanted it to be like the time in XY where Y found out what happened to her mother and she got super depressed. Except this time, X tries to do something about it. Finally.

It’s like a big Dex Holder family! ... But not too big, since there are far too many of them nowadays! And despite Platinum not really wanting to get involved, she helps out anyways, as “foretold” by the Headcanon Chronology!

5) While Moon really should rest, the idea of her getting that Spirit of Vengeance team you posted about on your Tumblr sounds way too awesome. ...Also Umbreon bias since it's my first (and only) shiny, but yeah.

Poor Blue - it really is probably only going to hurt her the longer she keeps it in. Wonder how that is going to play out, since I guess Platinum's now put things in motion. I think the first scene in this chapter is the one I enjoyed the most.

Damn, for Moon's Pokemon to die like that...that's gotta be traumatizing. I have to admire that determination though, even though she's shaping up to be a revenge-obsessed character from what I see.

No, it’s not canon. What is canon is that Yellow has a crush on Red. What’s also canon is that Red is uncomfortable with the idea. And of course he is. He thought she was a guy the whole time and then suddenly found out all at once that she was a girl and had a crush on him. His response is not going to be positive. And again, this is not dark. ... Though I guess that depends on your sensitivity.

Moon’s overhaul is happening now, yes. For that, she’ll have to go to Galar too. And I don’t know sh*t about that region, so... that’ll be difficult. Hehe. And much later in the story when she meets her foe... oho, Rage Unleashed Moon!

The local boy with the malasada had the same fate as Lillie. Two stretchers with a body on top, with the white blankets pulled all the way up.

17) I figured that now would be the best time to give a review for one of your works. therefore, I should review my personal favourite.

I been a consistent and long-time reader for numerous years now without ever leaving a review. I simply didn't have an account until recently just so I can give my thoughts on some of the series that you make.

Regarding Legacy as a whole, it truely showcases your ability to take the wide variety of dexholders and thiee different personalities and place them in situations that would absolutely never occur in the actual story. I have always loved the way you portray each individual character, improving thier teama and strategies and having genuine character growth. Although Sun and Moon are my uncontested favourite characters so far, I adore the way you use Platinum B in your stories, giving her a genuine personality and character traits.

You also generate a wide range of different and creative settings for each of the characters to go through. Legacy is the perfect example of this in terms of one truely coherent story setting. by using the opportunity of the highest stakes that these dexholders may ever face, you use the opportunity to explore all of the aspects of each character amazingly and how they would face this danger.

Since Sun and Moon are my favourite characters, the wait for this chapter absolutely killed me. Although it sucks that due to the lack of reviews for these characters I will get few opportunties to read your way of presenting the characters What I am trying to say is that the way you write your characters makes them feel REAL. I genuinely believe that these are the actual characters as they personalties are replicated and refined to perfection The way both Sun and Moon react in this chapter is exactly the way I would have expected them to. Being a Deliveryshipping day 1, seeing even the slightest interactions in any media, especially in your stories always brings joy to me. I have regulary reread most of your works such as Special Chronicals and Distinct Events becuase each story is chapter is amazing in its own right.

Your amazing work has inspired me to possibly start my own project one day. I am sorry for the stress that you have gone through this year and the issues with the Discord. It will get better this year. Aww, thank you very much! <3 And while I don’t know about Sun, but Moon is going to be in the spotlight quite a lot, so enjoy it! Since Platinum is my uncontested favorite, she gets plenty of development in my stories, with new character bonds, teams, battling style, etc. And unlike in DPPt, she actually gets to do things against the enemy.

Of the three major stories I’ve written (SA, Destiny, Legacy), Legacy has the lowest stakes. But I think it’s also the most personal, which I guess means it’s much more important for individual Dex Holders. Well, we’ll see as time passes. And yes, these are kind of things that would never happen in the actual arcs, so the Dex Holders get to be stress-tested. How would they react given their personalities, tics, relationships, etc, in a realistic situation?

Oh. ... Ahem. Sorry for making you wait 7 months. Ehehe... And while it’s true that Sun and Moon currently have the lowest “viewership”, that changes as time passes. Like Black and White in SA and X and Y in Destiny. As the “meh” torch is passed down to Sword and Shield, Sun and Moon might rise in popularity, thus increasing the chances of them appearing in my stories.

I don’t really know if this was how Sun would react though. But I also don’t know how he would’ve actually reacted, so this might not be outside the possibility range. I kind of had him act like Black, really, but without being as sweet... or loud. Well, there will be more Sun & Moon interactions for you to enjoy in the upcoming chapters, so... there you go!

You should start your own project! Go for it! And eh, Discord. Sh*t happens. I wouldn’t call that stress. Anyways. Yes, I use the review count as an indicator of how many people have finished the chapter. Of course, there are plenty of people who read the chapter to the end without reviewing, and the number of people who review after reading tends to fluctuate. But if there is a trend, that indicates a trend in viewership as well. And that is what I look at. Hence the charts. And yes. We’d all like to see how the story ends. Me included. Keep up with the reviews and we’ll all see it by 2021.

18) Just found this story and am enjoying it thoroughly. Big fan of your Blue characterization as well, I used to enjoy shipping Red with Yellow, but recently, I've come to enjoy Blue with Red.

A small nitpick - Did none of the juniors comment on Red and Blue sleeping in the same room/bed while they stayed in Red's house in the last two chapters? I would assume the female juniors already know Blue likes Red and so won't say anything unnecessary, but I guess the guys are a little more tactful than we give them credit for?

Heh. The girls... already know, since the girls who are in the house were Platinum, White, and Y, and they already know of Blue’s crush and all that. So White and Y would just snicker at the fact that Red and Blue are sleeping on the same bed, while Platinum would just smile. As for the boys... Diamond might notice something if he spent more time talking to Red and Blue before and after. But I doubt Pearl or Black would notice anything odd. They’d probably just assume that Red and Blue are sharing the bed because a ton of guests were sleeping in the living room, so there were no other options.

Of course, all that’s assuming that the juniors know that Red and Blue are sleeping on the same bed. I don’t recall having Red and Blue give them a tour of the house, so as far as the juniors know, there might be another bed upstairs. ... Though a house tour is generally the first thing you do, but... heh. Ambiguity. No one knows for sure.

2) Well that was...brutal alright. Thugs deserved it though. I'm mildly surprised no one died, but I think that's more because I'm used to seeing that from your old "doom hammer" chapters.

I admit the Santa part was an amusing touch, and I guess that explains why you needed to release this by the end of the year. Heh, Blue's gadgets are useful as always and very effective - that's a nice disguise. That action scene was awesome and easily the best scene in this chapter. The situation aside...it was nice to see Red be a hero even without his Pokemon.

You were right - this is an enjoyable chapter and I like this "brutal Red" experiment. Can't wait for the next chapter!

All Hell Breaks Loose pts 1&2

I believe these are landmark episodes for every SPN fan. Im going to treat this like one episode because it really seems like one single episode. 

A little back history, I came to this show late, it was already in S11 when I started binging fron the beginning. It was by the request of my friend, who had tod me a few times that she thought Id love the show, and I didnt believe her. fanatasy/horror/super hero shows are not my genre. I like dramas like NCIS and House MD but this? This is kid stuff.... not my thing. But I took her advice and watched. She made me promise to watch the first 2 seasons and if I still didnt like it by the end of S2, we could move on. So I did.  I didnt think seasons 1 and 2 sucked, I liked Sam Dean and John a lot but, the monsters, acting, and overall story was meh IMO. S2 was better, at least one or two more episodes from then made it to my top 30, but this one sealed my fate. I had heard a lot about this amazing, unmatchable chemistry these two had, but I wasnt really feeling the love. They fought constantly, Dean seemed too clingy and Sam seemed to not want to be with him much at all. and I wasnt really seeing this epic bromance I had been told about. And then All Hell Broke Loose! Sam mysteriosuly gets zapped away to demon camp, and Dean is desperate to find him. Sam’s side of the episode is very interesting, we are really seeing his leadership skills in action, and how he can be totally freaked out and not let it show. Jake, was such a good character, Im still upset he didnt stay around for a while, even as a bad guy. 

Of course, the most important part of these episodes is that Sam is killed, and Dean’s brokeness and despiration. Im very shocked at first that Sam actually dies. I had thought since the show was in its 11th season at the time, that Sam and Dean cant/don’t die ever, so I never really had much concern for their well being. I learned they could be beat to hell and next episode they’re shiney and pretty as new, and if they’re still on the air, they obviously cant die right? And in a sense its true that they cant die, or stay dead, they still somehow manage to make their deaths very traumatizing. I learned here, that its not so much that one brother died, its more about the reaction of the other. Sam and Dean never know its not final. We may know, but they dont. 

Jake and Sam have this big fight. Jake  is strong af but Sam manages to hold his own. This solidifies the notion I had, that even though Dean is the agressive one, and much faster to punch or kill, Sam Winchester is NOT a wimp. not a “damsel”. He is also strong af, a damn good fighter and has a very high pain threshold. He knocks the super charged “benched 800 lbs stone cold calm” Jake out cold. Almost kills him, but decides against it.... he wont make that mistake again eh? Walking away with apparently a broken shoulder, or arm, he hears Dean and sees him in the distance. DEAN!!! Sam smiles and releif washes over him, Dean isnt dead!! But right in front of Dean, Jake comes in from behind and stabs Sam in the back, and slices.... and severs Sams spinal cord WTF?? This scene is etched in every fans mind forever. Jensens acting here is nothing short of oscar worthy, but lets take a minute to appreciate Jared’s also. He doesnt have a speaking part right here, but he is truly portraying someone with a severed spinal cord. He falls to his knees to be imediately caught by Dean. He cant hold his head up, lift his arms, or even keep his eyes straight.He cant talk or even gasp for breath. Dean knows but is in complete denial. He’s gonna fix it, thats his job!! Take care of his pain in the ass little brother!! Deans shock and denial, along with his honest helpless greif, destroys me! The way he holds Sam and screams his name... and then burries his face in Sams hair and cries. I just cant! Next, we see that Dean has carried Sam’s body to an abandoned shack, and laid him on a mattress. Dean has laid Sams hands on his stomach like he’s resting. For a day or more, Im not sure, Dean stands there and stares at his dead little brother. He refuses to bury or burn him. Bobby doesnt want to leave him alone, he obviously cant handle this situation, but Dean has no shits to give. The person he loves most in the world is gone. Screw everything else.  Dean starts talking to dead Sam and this is heart wrenching. These 2 episodes change everything as far as their brotherly relationship goes. Its no longer just close, and deep its psychotic, irrational, dangerous, and the most beautiful thing ever! Dean doesnt know what to do. This is the absolute worst part of losing someone you love. The next step, what do you do? How can you even begin to try to continue to live?  Dean is beyond desperate. He goes and sells his soul to bring Sam back. And he doesnt get 10 years or even 5, he gets 1 year. 1 year and then he’s damned to eternal torment in hell. They cant try to break the contract or Sam dies again. A terrible trade off, but Dean takes it. When he sees Sam standing there in the room, alive, he gives him such a great hug!! This begins my obsession for brohugs!! Fast forward to the cemetery scene. A lot is going on here, Azazel is griefing them, Jake opens the hell gates (though the boys are blamed for this forever) Azazel asks Dean is Sam is REALLY the same old Sam?? We all wonder if Sam is ok when he stone cold shoots Jake repeatedly, with that one little blood drop on his face. Overall, Sam seems like Sam, but we at least know hes a little more killy now lol.  We get a bonus reunion with John, he touches Deans shoulder, gives him a tearfilled smile, and looks at Sam. For a long time, I was a little bit bitter that John didnt show any affection to Sam, but then I realized, or maybe its just a head canon, but John may have known that Dean sold his soul for Sam, and Joh was silently telling Dean he understood. John sold his soul for Dean, so he was like “The things we’ll do for love, right son?” John did some crappy things, but no one will ever convince me that he didnt love those boys with all his heart.  Sam figures out that Dean sold his soul for him, and hes pissed. But he finally comes out with what I needed to know for 2 seasons “Youre my brother... theres NOTHING I wouldnt do for you”. Yes... Sam is just as irrational, psychotic, and dangerously in love with Dean.And with that.... I was sold on SPN. I dont regularly go back to watch these episodes, but when I do, it still tears me up. Even moreso now that so much has happened because of it.  Sometimes, something big happens on the show and the negative people say that it makes this, or Deans trip to Hell, or Swan Song lose meaning, and it truly doesnt. It makes those things have more meaning. Everything that unfolded after those events up till now makes them more critical and adds the question “if they had known, would they still?” And knowing the answer would be “yes” just makes it all that much more brutally wonderful,  Now, go watch these episodes again, keeping in mind everything that transpired from it, and when Dean sobs at losing his little bro for the first time, allow your heart to break more for the big picture.
