I find it very interesting that Sebastian “cannot tell lies” Michaelis claims that he was “born this way” in reference to the face he has. I shan’t elaborate, it’s just a very interesting observation that this millennia old demon just so happens to have been born with a human face. Kinda silly and goofy yk? What a silly guy. This is definitely not an indicator of a long running theory I have in my lil brain. Im very normal about this. Just a lil panel. And Yana’s comments about how she’s probably never going to reveal Sebastian’s true nature. Which implies something possibly subversive about his true nature. Which maybe ties into the fact that he’s apparently really weird compared to other demons. Whom we have met none of. How silly. How goofy. I’m very normal about this-

crazy how the sanshee plush is one of the few actual direct confirmations on what a non-act 2 Natsuki’s home life is like because of how cagey she is on literally everything. I think one of the reasons why I love to explore the idea of the Prison Dimension and especially Leo being trapped there for considerably longer than canon is that, well, literally anything is possible. Time could pass the same or it could pass faster or it could pass slower or it could go so slow for years and at random outshoot earth by half a decade or vice versa like-?? It’s such a malleable concept.

And I think that very same malleability is what makes it so horrifying.

Because you can toy with the concept of death to its utmost there. You can choose to keep it as with the outside’s reality, where death by injury or sickness or even old age may occur. Or you can assume it is a place that simply won’t let its prisoners die, and that whoever enters is doomed to eternal life in endless void. Or even still, maybe you can die, but you’re rewound, or your soul can’t escape (or is kept there), and now you’re in a cycle, back and forth between life and death.

That doesn’t even touch upon whether the inhabitants can age, or grow, or if they need sustenance, or sleep, or if there’s any other life in there at all aside from who you’re thrown in with. And, if there is other life, is that life friendly? And could you even come across it in the vastness of the space?

How big is the Prison Dimension, even? If you went forward one direction for as long as you could, would you never run out of space, or would it cycle you back around to the other side? Gravity seems to be both there and not, so I wonder if the dimension is random in regard to how that works.

And, further, I wonder about the possibility of the dimension being even slightly sentient, and the potential horror that could imply.

The Prison Dimension is an endlessly fascinating concept to me, and the thought of Leo being trapped there, and not getting out when he did…that’s horror, really and truly.

Karasu and control

I've been thinking about this for a while, and this part of Hiori's novel (previous reblog) just brought it back to my attention.

Karasu really likes to control things. I'm not saying he's a control freak, of course, but he certainly likes to feel a safe base beneath his feet. You can see this in his play style (when he gathers all the available information and acts only after that; his choice of France) and his fear of water (if I remember correctly, the thing that scares him the most in it is the unknown). AND also from the whole Marisa (his childhood crush) story (assuming it's true lol) - he's not the type to rush into anything: neither in relationships nor hobbies. I don't think he would have chosen to join Blue Lock if he wasn't really sure in his abilities. He's really mature about things like that.

I was thinking in the context of him probably going to university (data analysis please!) in addition to his sports career, since he seems like a really rational guy when it comes to serious stuff? He gives Hiori some great advice about not wasting his time on something he doesn't like, Ego mentions that his greatest skill is his analytical ability - he never acts because-he-just-feels-it, he was the one who argued with the referee in the U-20 game about Rin's injury (so responsible!), and generally acts very logically (except for the whole Hiori and his legs theme lol). I don't think he would be able to fully relate on the sport, he certainly knows about the statistics of failures and broken careers.

He loves football, of course, but he is really right about "people who only play football can't become great players". But that's more because for Karasu, it's unrealistic to be stable (which is sometimes a deciding point in the game) when your whole life depends on it. When everything relies on you winning. Karasu really has a glimpse of Snuffy's philosophy in that, and it's great to see that in the character: Failing at one thing doesn't say anything about you. And you should always be more than one thing to have the right mental balance.

That's what makes him so strong - not that he'll never fail. Of course one day he will.

But rather the knowledge that he has done everything to be stable in case of failure; that any possible failure will not ruin his life. 

Because he has made sure that his back is covered.

Also, like, if they do eebie Blue, you have to realize how much of a BIG DEAL that would be in the Pokemon World. Cuz ok, Anabel didn’t really leave anyone behind, no canon family and she even got to keep her mons. Ingo left behind his brother Emmet and his team, so that's more distressing of course. But Blue?

Blue wouldn't just leave behind a sister but also a GRANDFATHER. Y'know, motherfucking Professor Oak. AKA possibly the Biggest Name in canon, THE quintessential Pokemon Professor. And for all we joke about him forgetting Blue's name, lbr, he definitely loves both his grandchildren deeply. So if one suddenly went missing, there's absolutely no way he wouldn't cash in every favor and pull every string to bring them home safe.

And that doesn't even touch on Blue's connection with the Kanto League as both a former Champion and Gym Leader, his legendary friendship with Champion Red, and of course their work in the Battle Tree.

Blue Oak disappearing would be a National fucking Emergancy across numerous regions, the likes of which we have yet to see in Pokemon.

Part of why I hate this fandom's take on Autobots vs Decepticons is ppl (mainly 'con fans honestly) who can't have any nuance of the situation whatsoever and love to write plots like "oh the humans are racist and abusive towards Cybertronians so this is how Megatron is right" no actually I don't think colonialism/imperialism and racism are justified so long as you can point the finger and say "they were the aggressors first" or "their hands are no cleaner than ours bc their society sucks too" sorry. Please come up with better sociopolitical narratives in your war story.

For as weird and wrong as they are often being, at least the people who try to over inflate the quality and artistic value of fanfiction ("most of the time it's better than Real Books!" etc) are clearly acting out of insecurity. Whereas the only explanation for why someone would feel the need to post about how fanfiction will never be real art 😏 and everyone who likes it is a brain dead slop consoomer is just like, genuinely enjoying being mean. And I know this will be controversial to some but I truly believe that one of those things is much worse than the other.
