Soooo, this might be out of left field lol but I would love to play Steve Harrington in a Twin Peaks universe. I have a snippet of what once supposed to be a ficlet of Steve falling in love at first sight of Shelly Johnson at the Double R diner, but I never quite had the pull to finish it. Steve's aloof goofiness just feels right for the vibe of that town, a fun dichotomy in the midst of the other teenagers in Twin Peaks:P

🍌 In your opinion, what’s the funniest joke/reference/pun you’ve made in a fic?

If I've said it once, I've said it a million and one times, but my roasts of Jason originate from my first fic Do or Die, and this joke that never fails to make me laugh (still) in Ch 8:

Jason softened his voice just slightly. Chrissy cringed at the memories of purging and the lies she told to cover it up. Jason's voice got even quieter. "You were my first, Chriss. I even showed you my collection of GI Joes and let you touch the rare edition Lady Jaye with her shoulder patch. You know how private I am about my collection." "Yes, I know.” Chrissy responded back in a calm, matter-of-fact tone. 

Like, you have no idea how many trials of weird things I made up for Jason to like, but choosing a GI Joe collection felt the best lmao. It also broke up the tension of the scene in context where it's actually extremely serious lmao.

yes, doctors suck, but also "the medical ethics and patient interaction training doctors receive reinforces ableism" and "the hyper competitive medical school application process roots out the poor, the disabled, and those who would diversify the field" and "anti-establishment sentiment gets applications rejected and promotions requests denied, weeding out the doctors on our side" and "the gruesome nature of the job and the complete lack of mental health support for medical practitioners breeds apathy towards patients" and "insurance companies often define treatment solely on a cost-analysis basis" and "doctors take on such overwhelming student loan debt they have no choice but to pursue high paying jobs at the expense of their morals" are all also true

none of this absolves doctors of the truly horrendous things they say and do to patients, but it's important to acknowledge that rather than every doctor being coincidentally a bad person, there is something specific about this field and career path that gives rise to such high prevalence of ableist attitudes
