It was stupid honestly. He rarely played online in open rooms. A part of him was paranoid that someone might recognize his voice. So he stuck to playing in private rooms with just the boys from the band and some of the mutual buddies they shared. That was however until one evening it ended up being just him and III and playing, one on one was pretty much impossible. So after some convincing from III Vessel had finally given in.

The lobby wasn’t big, only a couple of people joining in. “Good evening team”, III spoke into his mike. Earning a couple of hellos back before a female voice joined in making Vessel’s ears perk up. “Do we have a girl among us?”, III teased, earning a slight giggle, “Are you opposed?”, your voice drifted back into Vessel’s headset making the apple of his cheeks turn pink. He felt pathetic almost. But their schedule left little time for dating and the lifestyle brought a handful of fake people into their lives.

“We splint in teams of two?”, someone called out, followed by agreements. “Fire, I set the random pick”, the guy called, “May the best duo win”. A part of Vessel wanted to protest but before he could say anything his screen switched, generating the new room for just his teammate and him. He waited for it anxiously. Partly hoping to see III’s name popping up. What were the odds?

But they were not in his favor when the tiny camera flashed in the corner of his screen revealing your face. He felt like a teenager with a first crush as he stared at you. “Hello, stranger”, you smiled at the camera, waving, “You’re not putting your camera on?”, fixing your headset you looked straight at the camera and straight through Vessel’s heart. “Uh… Broken?”, his answer came out more like a question than a statement making you chuckle once more. “Okay, stranger danger, I guess I will have to trust that you are not some weirdo who’s trying only here to snap pics of me”, you frowned playfully but it still made Vessel panic, “No, I… It’s not like that, I just”, he ranted on. “I’m only joking”, you cut into his thread of thought, “It’s good if you don’t want to turn it on, I used to play with no camera for a while”, you reassured him. “Really?”, Vessel asked, leaning closer to his screen. “Yep”, you smile popping the p, “It can feel strange but maybe if we land in the same lobby in the future you might be more down for it”. He smiled slightly at the inclination of future games without even realizing it. “Now let’s kick some ass please, your friend seemed too cocky for his own good”, you wiggled your controller in the air, making Vessel chuckle, “Tell me about it”.

Time truly escaped you both, especially when everyone settled on keeping their teams as they were for the next rounds. It felt easy. Natural. From a lot more silence in the beginning to light conversation flowing through almost the whole round. And where Vessel got nervous you would naturally cut in, filling in the silence and for the first time, Vessel didn’t mind it. Didn’t mind the noise of someone talking.

“That was fun”, you said after the last round everyone agreed to play, “You’re really good, but then I had a feeling that you would”. Vessel frowned slightly, “What do you mean by that?”, “Just knew that you had something in you to play along”, you waved him off, pushing a strand of hair behind your ear. “I like your eyes”, Vessel blurted out, eyes going big at the realization of the words that had slipped out, “Sorry, that's bloody creepy”, he grunted. “No, I…”, you muttered, “Thank you, I never thought that they were anything special”. “They are really pretty”, Vessel was quick to reassure. “Can I see your eyes? Eventually I mean”, you looked hopeful as you glanced up, making Vessel swallow, “Sure”, it was barely audible but you seemed to catch it as the smile spread onto your lips, “Well then I will look forward to it. I’ll drop you a message so you can find me here”, you smiled, making Vessel smile too, “See you around, pretty eyes”, he breathed out, genuinely looking forward to playing along with you.

so... is there actually an overwhelming amount of evidence that Chucky is more maga/conservative than the other 90% of hockey players? I've been looking at quotes and posts and... seems within the average for NHLers. am I missing something big? i feel like the narrative and political theater of four nations is pulling the discourse away from a clear picture of what that tournament was and what the NHL is.

this is a very politically charged moment in the fandom because the USA (continues) to be shit fuck ass. i'm honestly wondering if people really want to talk about the politics of hockey. maybe not, and that's ok.

don't get me wrong, I wish all teams in the US would be like the eagles in 2018 and fuck off on the "mandatory" white house visit. let's get to that place! let's move beyond the need for it! but like. if the Panthers were scheduled to visit the white house back when Biden was still in office, would we have the same picture of Chucky now? are people leveling criticism evenly to the other conservative-seeming and actually conservative players? maybe that's not even a practical or helpful thing to do. idk I have questions! I'm not seeing the same vision as a lot of people.

hockey can just be catharsis. we can just be playing with dolls. I wouldn't be friends with my favorite players and I don't assume they are my political allies. it's a game, yeah? well, there's a certain point at which games are no longer playing pretend, because these games and this media spectacle exist within the real world. there are lines that take us out of enjoyment of the fandom, and that's hard and completely understandable.

personally, I'm far more interested in the politics of hockey behind the theater curtain. my local hockey team is owned by the company that owns half my city. C*m**t has played a huge role in city sport politics among everything else, and those politics affect our neighborhoods. what does that mean for me as a fan? I am in community with people in and tangential to hockey. I do have to figure out how to live my politics in all areas of my life, including this sport. it's tricky.

if people want to talk about the politics in hockey, I'm honestly very down for that. I am still very much learning about these leagues. I don't mean via Tumblr post, I've never seen that work, but private conversations are good.

a few years ago, someone in university told me she didn't want to be friends (we had met up for coffee once) because I'm *xyz sign* and her experience has been that *xyz sign* tend to be emotional master manipulators, they like to play the victim in situations where they caused the drama. Obviously every person is entitled to whatever boundaries they want to have for friendship and dating but it's not ok to just accuse me of being a certain way on grounds of... the date I was born lol.

Like I used to think this stuff was ok as long as people didn't take it seriously, and as long as it's just "oh I'm a *xyz* that is why I'm artsy :-)" but now I honestly just want nothing at all to do with it, and I don't want to know anything about it either.

Astrology is a form of bigotry, after all. Assuming that a whole demographic (people born in x time) share a series of personality traits, assigning those personality traits to people you've never even met because of this aprioristic belief about their demographic. It's the definition of bigotry.

In Western society, astrology is less of a problem than other discriminatory systems (racism, sexism, homotransphobia, classism, etc) because it's not as widely believed and hasn't become entrenched in the societal organization to be a systemic issue present in the social, cultural, and legal spheres and interpersonal relations that affect us everyday. (That is not the case in other places like, for example, India, where astrology might dictate who you can and cannot marry and where the victim's astrological sign has been used in court to refuse justice to women who have been raped, justifying the man who raped them because women born under certain star positions are believed to be astrologically "bringers of bad luck" and even bringers of death, so they're free game to abuse!)

So I'm not comparing it when it comes to the effects it has, but on a personal belief level it's just as discriminatory. It's as stupid to say "I don't want to be friends with this person because they were born at X time so I assume Y bad things about them" than it would be to make the judgement based on someone's gender, ethnicity, class, etc. There have already been people (in Western countries where we don't traditionally have an astrology-based oppression system) reporting discrimination for their astrological sign: I've heard experiences similar to you with that "friend", but some have even explained how they were not believed about their pain when they could have found out earlier about their illnesses and refused renting a room because the flat bans people of certain astrological signs!

It can seem like it's harmless fun, but this is what the belief is promoting. It's only a logical continuation of believing in horoscopes to start making these generalizations. It also contributes to normalizing these patterns of thought according to which it's "normal" and "truthful" to consider that whole demographic groups share the same traits (that is: bigotry; lowering our guard in front of more serious ones like racism, sexism, etc).

I don't think we should go around shaming people who talk about it, but I am certain that it is a responsibility not to contribute to spreading this form of bigotry, especially now that it's on the rise and becoming more popular among young people. For example, it goes against our interests as queer community to make space for astrology in our events (making people introduce themselves with their name and their sign, or painting astrology as some kind of radical queer thing somehow just because it's trendy??), I think we should stop promoting these beliefs in magazines, and start challenging our friends who believe in it to think of how it works (and how it prepares them for other forms of discrimination).

the voice immediately had you and dokyeom’s eyes enlarge as they made contact with one another. you had been watching seokmin respond to a few fans on weverse, the boy having been recording a cute video of himself before leaving, when a group seemed to enter the hybe hallway.

“calm down-” could be heard in the echo, but you interrupted the voice before the rest of the sentence could be heard.

“can’t use that take,” you made sure dokyeom very carefully clicked the delete button rather than the post to ensure no fans overanalyzed the mystery situation. somewhat hypocritically, you did the same thing you wished others not to do and came to a conclusion as to who one of the voices would be.

joshua was not one to display his anger.

in fact, he was noted as one of the calmest members when it came down to a hasty situation. he was the one to deal with jeonghan’s games and call junhui cute and pat vernon’s head. 

and he liked his reputation, he liked being someone that could comfort. only, you knew that even he could get stressed out sometimes, and you knew this very well.

(“it’s so fucking annoying sometimes, like, even if they know i’m the mafia, can’t they just pretend they don’t? maybe they just pick me for fun! i’m a pretty good actor!”

seokmin’s phone clicked off and the two of you finally were in the presence of a seething joshua parallel to a side-by-side seungcheol and jeonghan.

that was definitely concerning.

joshua scoffed. “why should i when i have literally every reason to be upset?”

this particular trio did not often find themselves in disagreements at all, so it was more subconscious for both you and dokyeom to intervene.

once closer, you took in the situation as dokyeom started with a far too happy, “hey guys! what’s going on?” he walked directly among the trio while you kept some distance, a bit behind joshua so he wouldn’t be distracted by your presence.

jeonghan looked a bit uncomfortable, seungcheol had his lips pressed in a thin line, but joshua turned to seokmin. “i wouldn’t know, because these two go everywhere without me recently. have i even seen you guys in the dorms? is it because you two are older than me? are you dating?”

the last one made you cover your mouth with your hand for a moment, dokyeom’s eyes widening and the two oldest members furrowing their eyebrows. seungcheol shook his head and trailed towards joshua’s side. he held one shopping bag in one hand, the brand miumiu, while jeonghan held another, dior. on the way to joshua, he slipped the bag handles out of jeonghan’s fingers, gripping both before presenting them to joshua. 

it didn’t take a genius to understand the brands’ significance to joshua. his face fell slightly blank at the epiphany.

“we’re so busy around the time of your birthday, shua, that’s all. we don’t mean to leave you out, never.” he threw an arm around jisoo’s shoulder, and your gaze shifted to jeonghan’s. jeonghan made eye contact with you as if he predicted you would check on him, eyes more relaxed than before. seungcheol started walking, so jisoo starting walking. jeonghan walked a bit in front, looking back at you once. once.

“don’t think so fast. we love you, why would we do that?” cheol continued, joshua’s pursed lips curled into an upside-down smile, not meeting his eyes as much as they usually do.

you could tell there was plenty of room waiting for jisoo to respond, apologize, accept the sweet gesture for his birthday. he seemed to know this too, mumbling an apology for swearing and getting upset. seungcheol nodded and rubbed his shoulder.

you walked further away until you could only faintly make out the second eldest’s, “we wouldn’t date without you, shua-ya.”

joshua was being irrational, jumping to conclusions before even processing what was going on. a bit after you sat back down with seokmin, your phone lit up with a text notification. the expansion read, “im so pissed rn do u know what just happened wait i can tell u if u come over later,” and you pretended your giggle was in response to a funny post rather than his obliviousness. at least shua knew how to manage his anger in a way that left him content.

you didn’t mind it either, what, him fucking you relentlessly instead of actually ranting? why wouldn’t you text him with a confirmation, and why wouldn’t you rummage through your closet for lingerie?

Random thoughts down below!

Last four days I have been very productive I've noticed. Just interesting to see, I do manage to work on my projects when the time is there (I always worry I am incapable of working properly, whenever I see all these self employed artists that seem to manage well enough). I specifically took two days off work to clean my apartment and work on stuff. Still have to add something to furniture and wait for my new bookcase but- is going.

Tho I clearly seem to be afraid of paperwork, that fear keeps festering. Hm, I at least have therapy today, hope new therapist will be OK.

I always seem to work on something every day, tho I also have been living alone for years and it sometimes feels very lonely being in my apartment on my own (Tho I am also very used to being alone, sometimes I prefer it). Yesterday, my uncle told me I can turn to him to talk about anything etc. But I just know, if I talk about my feelings too often, he'll get offended at some point.

While I draw is the only time I can finally shed a tear, sometimes at least. It is therapeutic in some way. Also I started listening to a German youtuber hyper analyse every 5min of the first harry potter movie yesterday- She has like 30 episodes that take around 40-60min each. It's wild but also very interesting to listen to while drawing. (German folks may know about Coldmirror) Freaking giggled at some parts, a friend of mine joined the vc session and listened along, was fun.

But ye I hope I can go back to having proper therapy the coming months and sort some problems, I'm too scared to talk to anyone with. I think one topic that makes me feel incredibly awkward, that I have mentioned a bunch of time already? Is probably about love, but it makes me feel very weird. I still remember as a child where I got a crush on cartoon characters and it wasn't really bad. Tho I stopped trying to have that feeling after I obsessed over my chem teacher at the age of 16-17. It makes me feel very awkward to this day and sometimes feels very painful.

I'm turning 23 in about a month, which is wild to think. So much happened, since I left my uncles house. (for context I have two)

But I think developing a crush on a fictional character now makes me feel very weird. I don't know how to feel about it because I avoided having such feelings for ages, because this entire topic among other things has a lot of bad memories attached to it. There is some trauma that is waaaayy too personal, that I couldn't say here. At least not in the near future. But ugh I get emotional just thinking about it, for some reason it brings me back to child me playing uno on my own. Didn't really have many people to play with. Instead I hung out with my imaginary OCs and did stuff with them. They still help me out, whenever I need to overcome a challenge. Or me just imagining them, following me along in the mall. My favourites atm are Edwin and Kirsten, two of my Bus OCs.

Seems therapy, art and just writing my feelings down somewhere online helped the most. I tried doing a diary, but it sadly didn't work long term. If I could have a family member I can vent to instead, I'd be happy to but don't think it's given. I think even a partner scares me too much, I firstly want to be on my own rn.

Hello <3 Listen I've started playing re8 and i've had my first encounter with the Dimitrescu family and I am here wondering why the hell didn't I play this sooner so I could obsess over this even sooner, but oh well. So I know you're cooking up a story where they meet the Denalis and I was like walking through the castle and my mind started asking questions. So ofc I imagine you don't wanna give away details of your story because then you wouldn't be able to tease us with lil spoilers and where's the fun in that, right? ;P So instead lemme write down what came to my mind and ask your opinion on that, let's dive into my delulu-land vision XD Tbh is nothing like super elaborated bc you know just rnadom throughts that came to mind so bear with me bc it probably makes 0 sense ok? SO it made me think like in a more kind of "modern" set up, where the Denalis are already vegetarians, they've lived a veeery long life, yk kind of like things are in the Twilight movies/books. In my mind it was like for X reason they were moving from Denali to another place to live, be because the Volturi, bc they had been exposed and therefore they need to gtfo before shit hits the fan (I blame the drones if that's the reason tho) IDK it could be literally any reason, it is unimportant. They somehow end up finding the castle, they meet this vampires who are like super different from them (In my mind I think is cool they can eat human food and sleep and shit eve n though perhaps they don't need it so I'd probs keep that for all vamps in any possible story but that's out of the question XD) and they ofc live very differently from them, the castle ofc doesn't mantain itself, so they have ppl working there for them and they probs dispose of them as soon as they stop being useful, they drink human blood, they make a game out of their hunts and seem to enjoy the pain they inflict before actually drinking the blood. Meanwhile the Denalis started drinking animal blood to stop killing the humans they slept with (With other reasons in the mix too but in the end it was to rpeserve human life) and they've lived away from humans, living in secret and all that shit, like is two complete different worlds they live in. Now all that to make this questions: Say Lady D offered them a place to stay in the castle for reasons unknown bc I hadn't actually thought about it tbh, I don't think she'd mind if they kept their boring vegetarian lifestyle, but they have a choice now to keep it or instead go back to human blood, which honestly seems more tasty and the better option, do you think they'd take it? Would they agree and stay in the castle? Would they leave? Idk f there would be any consequences if they decide to leave though, and in case of staying what about the coven itself? I mean Tanya's the leader, but it matters little I think her title in the castle bc I am not sure if Lady D gives a duck about it honestly, it's her castle after all(?) And final question I promise: How do you think they would adapt to this "new life" in the case they accept Lady D's offer of staying? You think someone might have more of a hard time with it? Will they talk/argue about it among themselves? Consider their options? I have a feeling that Tanya would not take any offer without speaking first to her coven, they are family after all and whatever they do will affect all of them, so yeah. Also this probably makes no sense as I stated before, it was a bunch of random thoughts that I poorly put together so yk don't feel like you gotta answer to all that nonsense XD And I still have not finished the game, just barely started it so idk, perhaps I'm missing some important lore, or something is inadequate, anyway thanks for reading my delulu-bible and for recommending me to go play the game <3 <3 Have a nice day :D

I love your thoughts on this. Especially because it´s a lot more serious than what I originally came up with, lmao. Like, this thing I got cooking rn is pretty much a total crack fic (for now). Yknow, stuff like portals and time travel and whatnot seems entirely possible there, but I haven´t reached that part yet (the explaining part), so it´s still rather unclear how they got to the castle.

Like, it never occured to me that the Denalis might just find the "real" village in Romania (which is where the game is set). But now that I´m reading your thoughts on it, this seems pretty plausible to me. Defo something I can see happening. With that said:

Lemme start by giving some canon info (which hopefully won´t spoil anything for you):

the Dimis aren´t actual vampires

they are what they are because of a parasite aka The Cadou

they need to sustain themselves on human flesh and blood because of it (for survival & to maintain their powers)

Lady D will grow to the point she mutates out of control if she doesn´t (I´ve read that somewhere)

the Daughters are made entirely of flies

those flies will die if exposed to the cold (yet another thing that´s entirely different from Twilight vampires, who can only be fully destroyed through fire)

Lady D has no such "weakness"

the pain they inflict upon their victims is not necessary for feeding

they just enjoy being cruel

they turn their staff into wine at some point

or use them for experiments ("Moroaicǎ")

With all of that said: I totally agree that it´s a clash of two entirely different worlds. But that´s what makes it so interesting.

I also kinda HC that The Dimis see vampires as some kind of role models? In a way? Like, they clearly enjoy this lifestyle (a bit too much), so I feel like meeting some actual vampires - the real deal - would be like meeting a popstar or smt. At least to the daughters. (Dani would swoon.)

Lady D would be a lot more skeptical about it ofc, but there´s no way she would be able to hide her curiosity. I mean, how many beings pose an actual threat to them? Not that many. Which means Lady D would be quite hostile at first. She got her daughters to think of as well, after all. There would be the usual threats of "slice you to ribbons" and such, until she realizes-

As for the Denalis-

Tanya would never make decisions without discussing it with her coven first. Not those that could be life-altering, at least. They'd only stay if everyone agreed to it. And, even then, I'm not sure it would be a permanent stay. I mean-

It's difficult.

I'd say it depends "which" Denalis we're talking. If we take the more deranged ones from my story (The Sisters) then I can defo see them agreeing to a permanent stay in the castle. Human life means next to nothing to them, aside from being their food source ofc. And while they might not agree with everything that's happening in the castle (some of the things going down in the cellar are...tough, even for them), they'd never judge the Dimis for their lifestyle, seeing how they're far from being saints themselves. One as corrupted as the other, I´d say.

If we take the veggie/modern Denalis, on the other hand-

I mean, the sisters killed ppl before. Loads of them probs. Therefore, the Dimis sustaining themselves on human blood and flesh isn't as appalling to them as it would be to your usual human. But it's how they do it (torturing their victims and basically getting the most out of it before they deliver the final blow) that makes them feel...conflicted. Most of their kind (as in: actual vampires) usually don´t draw it out longer than necessary. Mainly because they´ll succumb to their bloodlust almost immediately, sucking their victim dry in a matter of seconds. That (thankfully) doesn´t leave much room for any kind of torture.

With that said-

It´s still difficult, lmao.

I feel like our modern Denalis would defo be intrigued by the Dimitrescus. Then they´d be appalled. Then Lady D comes in with all that charm of hers, laying it on real thick yknow, basically downplaying the things that are happening in that castle full of blood and death. Then the daughters come in with their buzzing personalities. Then the Denalis would be intrigued again. And so on-

And before you know it, years have passed.

That´s the only way I can see our modern Denalis stay in that castle over an extended time period. Cause time works just differently for vampires, yknow. Years are like seconds to them. All one and the same. Doesn´t really matter. Not when you got eternity anyway.

Now, that was pretty much me rambling and fangirling without any kind of order, lol. So lemme try and give some more direct answers:

Would the Denalis switch to human blood during that time?

I think that´s entirely possible. That castle is pretty much filled with human blood - it´s everywhere: In the cellar, in the kitchen, in the storage rooms, in the wine glasses, etc. It lurks around every corner, constantly putting our sisters to the test. It´s like waving a piece (more like a bar) of chocolate in front of someone who´s been living on dry toast. Resisting becomes almost impossible under such conditions.

And the Dimis know that.

Am I suggesting that Lady D and her unruly daughters might try and seduce the Denalis back to human blood by deliberately leaving it out in the open, ripe for the taking?

Why yes, yes I am. That´s totally something the Dimis would do in order to gain numbers (and other things).

Would there be any consequences if the Denalis decided to leave?

As I said before, the Denalis pose an actual threat/challenge to Lady D. Neither her nor her daughters could do much to stop them from leaving, if they decided to do so. Doesn´t mean they wouldn´t try though. Lady D is a narcissist and rejection isn´t something she handles well. Her daughters share that sentiment.

"So you don´t love me?!"

Yup. That´s totally smt Dani would say in that situation. The poor baby.

Anyhow-

The Dimis would probs try to stop them because rolling over just isn´t in their nature. But I´d like to think one of the following things would happen then:

A) The Denalis use their vampiric charm to convince the Dimis to let them go without a fight.

B) Lady D puts a stop to things herself once she realizes the only ones to get hurt during this would be her daughters and herself. (She´d never admit that openly ofc.)

To sum it up:

Even if there were consequences, it´s highly unlikely the Denalis would be affected by them.

Would the Denalis adapt well to their new life? Would they struggle at all?

I think my fangirling pretty much answered that, lmao.

Unhinged Denalis: No problem with adapting. (More like they cba as long as they get their fill.)

Normal (modern) Denalis: Depends on the Dimis´ efforts I´d say. There´d defo be times of struggle and self-doubt. But then there´d also be times of "yknow what, why tf not". It´s a constant back and forth and it really depends on how well the Dimitrescus play their cards.

As for who might struggle the most:

Lemme start by saying Kate would struggle the least. I mean, the struggle would still be there, but she´s never been one to back down from a challenge. She´s also not one to shy away from the unknown - on the contrary: Out of the three of them, Kate is probs the one most likely to go "only one way to find out", YKNOW?? No risk, no fun, and all that. That´s why Cass and her get along so well. Whenever the two of them are together, the whole castle holds its breath.

Tanya would probs feel quite torn because, above all else, she has a duty to fulfill: ensuring the best possible outcome for her coven. So there´d be this constant nagging, telling her that all of this is kinda wrong and that, just mayhaps, it´d be better to haul ass. But then there´s time where she´s actually enjoying herself when she´s having "wine" with Bela, giving each other some advice on how to best handle their younger sibllings and such. That nagging fades for a while then. Until it´s back. But so is Bela. And that nagging fades again. And so on.

Irina would spend most of her time with Dani probs, gushing about finding true love and such. She sees a lot of herself in the youngest Dimitrescu daughter, albeit a lot more...unhinged, lol. They get each other, as crazy as it sounds. It also really helps taking her mind off things, makes her forget what´s going on in that castle. For a while, at least. Until the doubts start creeping back in. Dani notices though, she always does. And she´s always there to manipulate cheer her bestest friend up.

this week on "why men are scary" i was riding the 3 train back to my missed stop (long story but tldr: some guy was getting high on the train, cops got called, it was a little bit scary but no big deal, i just got distracted and missed my stop by a long shot) so i get off at one station and then get back on going the opposite way. as i'm walking onto the train this guy with a bike is standing in the doorway (why i didn't just go to another doorway, i don't know, i was very tired at this point) he moves his bike enough for me and the person behind me to walk onto the train. i sit down and mind my own business and work on something on my phone when this guy waves his hand into my vision to get my attention (mind you, i had headphones on), and I think "ok maybe i dropped something or he has to tell me something" but he just awkwardly introduces himself and tells me he just moved back home from living in japan/overseas so he has to get used to the social customs here and at this point, he seems nice, but i want to get back to what i was working on and I feel uncomfortable with the situation. but i am so bad at shutting people down in situations like that so i just sit and converse with him. he's complimenting my style and my hair and keeps saying that he wants to hang out and be friends. i tell him that i'm leaving tomorrow (got home yesterday) and that i can't hang out. eventually he asks for a way to stay in contact, and i had been dreading this the whole time, because a) i am uncomfortable already and do not want to be friends with this guy, b) we are in a public area and i feel the pressure to be nice to him because there are people around, c) i don't know if this guy is actually going to hurt me if i turn him down. i try to talk him into just following my cat's instagram which is a public page and i feel more comfortable with strangers following that account. but he says "oh, how do i know you aren't just after the clout? like everyone else?" and i fake laugh and say "oh i'm super lame i don't care about that, i only have a few followers" and he says "i'll follow your cat if you give me your phone number" and i really didn't know what else i could do. i'm trapped on a train car with this guy who is making this big show of playing the good guy, asking about my interests, giving me compliments. so i gave him my phone number (not happily). naturally, a few hours later he sends me a message on my cat's instagram and i give a short response. then he sends me a shirtless selfie of himself holding his cat. and this is it, i finally think "ok i really really don't like this situation" so i block him on everything. then, last night after i got home i start getting messages on Whatsapp and from another number cursing me out, calling me names. so one day with this guy i'm "really genuine" and "not like everyone here" and the next i'm a "fake ass b!tch" and a "fat whore" hmm. and now he's threatening to dox me. so i've blocked him on Whatsapp and the other number he texted me from. i disabled my cat's instagram account so people can't find it. i keep getting phone calls from a "private number" which i'm sure is him. does anyone have any other suggestions on how to keep myself safe? i'm not in the same city as him anymore (even if i was, idk if he'd even find me among 8 million people). it's scary out here guys, be safe and be smart.

I find it fascinating to think of what the restaurant can make with the plants and meats found in each duchy that cannot be found on Earth.

I like how you managed to show the differences of culture, what the nobles expect to experience vs their real customer service experience, and the way the people who become regulars adapt to it in their own way.

I especially like how you’ve incorporated the regular order nicknames to each person. Once I remember who is who, it’s interesting to think of how the scenarios will play out with those present.

How did you come up for the favorite meals of other characters and do you have a list of them?

My favourite part has to be writing about the Nobles meeting Mestionora, there just this delicious sort of (idk what to call it, karma maybe?) Thing in the air where Nobles are getting treated the same way most of them would treat the commoners you know what I mean, if face of a metaphysical cosmic entity they are *nothing* and the realization of that feels like such a juicy thing to write.

Yes, Mako and his fellow chef Leo are always trying to find ways to incorporate local food from Yurgenschmidt and the other world into their resrurant menu, Rozemyne traded a few fruits and veggies for cacao and coffee beans in the beginning when Alexandria's country gate wasnt connected to the land of sand. Now Rozemyne only imports cacao and about a kilogram or natto every week.

It's a bit of an Urban legend amongst merchants, especially travelling merchants, some don't belive it, others swear they saw it, benno makes a lot of money from all the new exotic foods Rozemyne brings with her to Alexandria and traveling merchants (atleast, the ones who found it) make it a point to find and label all (or as many) Nekoya doors they can find on their way (because food is essential to traveling merchants and their families) tho it's mostly not mentioned in the story itself cuz its a bit irrelevant to the plot (aka: I can't figure out a way to incorporate it without sounding forced it)

aaaa ok thoughts on the new among us update

First of all, new roles! I kinda knew about these already aha, but I can finally talk about them! I like the idea of noisemaker a lot, it's so silly haha. Tracker seems kinda neat, idk how much I'll end up using it, either a lot or not much I can't tell yet, but I will absolutely use it to keep watch of my friends when playing with them lol. I was a little bit worried about the balancing of phantom but it seems you can’t kill while you’re invisible so I feel like it will work out.

Public lobbies are going to be interesting now for sure, but I don't see anything being too gamebreaking.

Second, new lobby music! It sounds very piratey, l like it a lot (although it does feel a wee bit out of place at points). Very glad we got more music tho I enjoy it. When it comes out on Spotify I will be adding it to my playlists for sure.

Finally, call me a nerd but what I really wanted to geek out about is the new Ul?

Like it's certainly going to take a little getting used to but I really like it!

It's a lot clearer and it just has ✨character✨ idk how else to describe it. The icons are cute and it matches the main menu now, and it's easier to see the important settings. The presets are an interesting idea, I think that will be helpful for new players/people who haven't played in a while especially since we got a bit of a role soup going on now.

love how it says who the host is and how the most recent chat message pops up at the top, and how much information is easily accessible without being too overwhelming. You can stay chill with the presets or you can micromanage everything you want, and you don't have to scroll through a long list of text to find the settings you're looking for. It seems more accessible too!

Idk maybe this is just my game design & ui design background making me pay attention more to this stuff, but it's very neat!

Although it was the first time he and Miyashita Yuya co-starred, they got along the best

He really liked him and they had alot of drinks together

He thinks they had very similar personalities and ways of thinking, and that's why they got along so well - he clarifies that this is all one-sided though

I think he said seikaku (性格; personality) but someone in the chat wrote they thought he said seiyoku (性欲; sexual desires)???

Apparently the choreographer for the Tensura closing theme was the same one as the one in SekaNeko!

He thought it was gonna be difficult for Benimaru and Souei to fit the last dance part but it was alot of fun in the end

The make-up departments for Tensura/Suehiro/Furuba and their routines were all completely different; even if they all had the same base (his face), he thinks they were completely different

The wig and make-up artists all belong to the same team

He particularly liked the red tear drop for Benimaru's make-up 🩸 Maybe it should have been a bit more red though

The line was very fine and every day it looked a bit different

It was fun wearing hakama and wielding an ōdachi 🤗 He thinks having a sword is like having a friend ww

It wasn't difficult to wear the hakama - that is, if you learn the correct way to walk while wearing it

Benimaru's hakama is double layered after all and the haori (?) on top

The chat mentions how his sandals flew in one performance and the scabbard in another performance

It seems he ripped the hakama at two different occasions (as seen in senshūraku, but then also during the final battle scene with the Orc Disaster?)

Keeping the theme of mishaps, there was also the incident during Furuba where the juzu beads got scattered on stage (I'm assuming from Kyo's bracelet when Kazuma ripped it off in the beginning?)

Apparently they were torn two days in a row (thankfully no one tripped on them). Perhaps they acted as a substitute for protecting him 📿

Although Aya did trip backwards in the second to last performance (when he bumped into one of the ensemble members) 😭

There seems to have been a miss in communication because Hiroki didn't think he was gonna be there when he was

But he handled it like a gymnast doing a backflip

It was the first time he's ever bumped into someone so beautifully 😂

Someone asks him how long it took to make the Aya doll but first, as for the "Yuki-chan who loves his brother 100%" cardboard standee, he drew it all by himself after everyone had left the performance hall for the day

Since he had about an hour off-stage for each day's performance, he had alot of thinking time

Then the cardboard standee was destroyed in an instant lol

He thought it would've been nice if it had been destroyed by Yuki himself but Kyo is Kyo after all

They would pay it if he asked them to, but he did it because he wanted to

It might have been better if he spent his money on other props since it was finished off with a single blow, but as long as that moment leaves a lasting impression on alot of people, he thinks it's worth the time and money spent

As for the scene where he held the kabutomushi (Japanese rhinoceros beetle), he doesn't even remember how it came to be

It had only been a few days since they had gotten to the rehearsals (they hadn't even gone through the rehearsals or practiced yet) and on the second day, they were already in costume

He's never done anything in that condition before

They gave him free rein to do pretty much whatever he wanted

He's not sure why he came out with the beetle in that really moving scene but it received lots of laughter during rehearsals

Hiroki himself barely even realizes that he held a beetle, he just wanted to convey that specific line

It was actually a stag beetle apparently - it might have been because Tooru called it a stag beetle in another scene. Maybe Ayame had picked it up first then let it escape

Needless to say, none of this was in the script lol

At one of the performances, there was a man in the audience who did a snorting laugh so Hiroki almost lost his composure

(Note: snort laughing is butappana (ぶたっぱな/豚鼻) which uses the characters for 'pig' and 'nose')

The spotlight had only just hit him but he hadn't said any lines yet

He was happy to receive that response even though it wasn't the right timing

"If I'd laughed in that scene, I wouldn't be a professional anymore"

In that sense, they're really making the performances together with the audience, it's different every time

He mentions snort laughing senpais like Shunri and Yuya - and Yuya truly is a pig nose ww

At the very end in Tensura when Geld begs for forgiveness from the Ogre clan, apparently Yuya found it very funny that his pig nose was basically pressed into the ground 🐽

He seemed to have been struggling quite alot with that nose (not to mention they had to get rid of the tusks before the performances had even begun)

B*z*n and Ts*r*m*r* had the same make-up artist for Suehirogari 🤫

Unless their make-up sessions didn't fall within the same timeslots, he doesn't know who had their make-up done together with who

Someone asks "what about Michu-niki?" and he thinks they meant Murata Mitsu since they said -niki (from aniki; older brother) but they actually meant Hayashi Mitsuaki (Onimaru's actor)

He's not sure if he should say this but he can't help but think Mitsuaki looks like Menjo Kentaro (!!)

He thinks they're both wild, old-fashioned, a bit clumsy, close in age (Mitsu is born in 1990/10 and Menjo is 1990/11), and have similar face structure

Many of the Chaba thought they weren't allowed to touch the partition screen or they were too embarrassed to touch it

I dreamed that I had to go to the bathroom at school, but the layout was so weird and nonsensical that I thought 'wow, this looks like something I'd dream about'. I did a reality check and I was, indeed, dreaming. I woke myself up and feel asleep again to hopefully have a more interesting dream. I'm not sure if I actually woke up irl or if it was part of the dream because I remember nothing

Either way, when the next dream started I was in either kindergarten or elementary school, I wasn't part of the class but I liked the activities so I stayed. I met a boy with curly blonde hair and glasses with a thick black frame and we started talking, I explained that I was dreaming so I'd have to go eventually, he was chill about it.

I sat at a small table with him and other 2 kids I can't remember, and the boy asked why I hadn't answered his texts. I said that I didn't remember anything before this interaction because I was half awake and that messes with your memory. Then the teacher gave us a card each for a game. I can't remember exactly what they look like but I know they were color coded, they had one big rectangle with rounded corners, presumably to put tokens or something, and 6 circles. Idk how this game is played but it seems plausible enough.

At some point there was a complete change of scenery and I was in my aunt's house. I think it was a family gathering. Anyways, a Minecraft raid started and we all ran away to hide. I took my youngest cousin with me and we went upstairs, but we were spotted from a window so I went to another room that was close to that one. There we hid inside a closet with turquoise doors but I couldn't close the door quick enough and someone saw it moving at the last second. It's hard to close doors without a handle ok.

One of the raiders was one of my cousins?? And she started saying that I would have gotten away with it if I had been slightly faster and I ran away while she talked. I don't think she noticed

So I went back upstairs and let my youngest cousin go with his brother, and I spotted phantoms in the sky. The Minecraft ones. And we all panicked because there were too many people and we couldn't all fall asleep so they would attack us. I think the dream ended there

Now, there's some parts I remember but I don't know when they happened so I left them out of the main story

Me and my brother were at my aunt's house and we wanted to explore. My logic was that because it was a dream, the outside of the house looked nothing like it does irl, so we had to find a way out that's not through the door because I was too familiar with the front door and it would lead us to a replica of the irl place. (thinking about it, it would be fun to explore areas based on irl places, because they'd eventually turn into places my mind made up)

So me and my brother decided that we should climb the wall that leads to my uncle's garden (that's actually how it works irl. They set up stais and all. The stairs didn't seem to be present in the dream but the wall also seemed a lot lower so it's fine.) I can't remember what happens next, I think we had to be stealthy for some reason?

At some point it starts snowing and for some reason I feel like snowflakes had the shape of Among Us crewmates. It might have been specifically an Among Us crewmate my brother made in Minecraft once. I don't remember what I thought about the snow but I eventually decided to go inside so my glasses wouldn't get covered in it. When I took them off to check they were super wet but for some reason it wasn't visible when I had them on?? And I also wasn't able to clean them for whatever reason.

Now, for another part that might have been at the beginning of the dream, or right after the part I just said:

I was exploring in Minecraft. I was riding a horse, and the terrain seemed amplified because of how ridiculously close together everything was, but the hills and cliffs weren't super tall. My brother might have been with me but I'm not sure

At some point I found some sort of wooden water tank in a taiga biome. My main world's pillager tower is in a taiga biome so, of course, I immediately got attacked by pillagers in the dream

Maybe the order of events was

Bathroom thing, I wake myself up/dream that I wake up

Minecraft exploring, killing some pillagers

Talking about exploring with my brother

Going inside, accidentally starting a raid

Raid starts, everyone hides

“Wait, wait, wait, what did I miss?“ I say as I hop into the Discord call and the Among Us server, running five minutes late since I got carried away reading my chat. My fans tend to do that to me - make me lose track of time and everything else. That’s why I usually try to connect to the call and game before I turn to look at my chat. Unfortunately, I forgot that bit today.

“Omg, Y/N! Put the cat ears on! It’s for the greater good, just trust me!“ Rae commands urgently. Amusingly enough, in the background, muffled a little by her voice is Corpse’s, telling me not to.

“Not that I need a reason to wear cat ears...“ I trail off, equipping the cat ears both in-game and IRL. Yes, I own a pair of cat ears, is that so surprising? “But can someone fill me in on what’s happening?“

“’Cat girls are ruining my life’ just surpassed twenty million views on YouTube, so we’re celebrating! And Mr. Popular Pants over here keeps being a party pooper, saying it’s not a big deal and refusing to put on cat ears.“

That’s when I notice that Corpse’s avatar is the only one wearing a different accessory than the rest of us. It’s this kind of tantrum-throwing-toddler that gets me laughing my butt off every single time. Add to it the witty sibling banter between him and Rae, fun for the whole family. Well, ok, not quite for the whole family with the curse words they sometimes drop left and right.

Speaking of cursing, I don’t do it. I was raised in a household where a curse word would earn me and my siblings a punishment - always different and never not creative but most importantly - always intense enough to make us regret saying a no-no word with our parents or grandparents around. That’s kind of stuck with me and I can’t really get over it. Even when I’m upset, the first thing that comes out of my mouth is that censor word YouTubers use to not get demonetized. I’ve been using those words all my life: shoot, freak, frick, crap, darn etc. - so my channel is always kept kid-friendly in that aspect.  Now with that context in mind, you’ll understand better the shock I received for this next move I made.

“Corpse, Corpse darling, listen to me. It’s not a big deal, it’s a HUGE deal. Don’t play the humble card with us, we know you too well. Allow us to be as excited as you were when you find out!“ I start off sweetly enough, “Sounds good?“

Corpse hesitates for a second, mumbling something under his breath before replying, “Ok, I guess.“

“Great!“ I clap my hands together, “Then put on the fucking cat ears!“

To say everyone in the call, especially Corpse, is stunned would be an understatement. Hell, I’m even stunned for a second or two, my eyebrows raising at my own out of character words. And, as a person who’s only cursed a countable-on-the-fingers-of-one-hand times in her life, boy did it feel freeing and relieving. Why haven’t I been doing it sooner, for fuck’s sake?!

This must be a huge success for everyone present, once again - especially for Corpse who’s been trying to get me to curse basically since the start of our friendship. He seems too shocked to even claim and flaunt his win over my willpower to keep my language clean, which I honestly appreciate.

“Well, when you put it like that...“ He finally mutters, his voice barely reaching me through the ‘oh my Gosh‘ squeals from Rae, Poki, Lily and Leslie who never thought their tries would lead to success. On the screen, I watch as his little black colored avatar equips the famous cat ears, “...How could I possibly complain?“

“Hell fucking yeah!“ I shout, clapping my hands together, “Wooo fucking hooo!“

“Ok, how the hell are we gonna stop her now? Is there a switch we can flip?“ Toast asks, faux concern in his voice.

“Shut it, Toast. I’ve worked far too hard to have her going back to being an angel!“ Corpse retorts, sending me and the rest of the players in a fit of laughter.

It’s true! He’s been working hella hard to get at least one curse word out of me, bribing me with immunity, threatening to kill me first in Among Us, offering an alliance or being my bodyguard or whatever else I could possibly fall for.

Hey, at least I didn’t get bribed into it, right?

ok this is straight up just a personal post but it's too long for my private twitter so i'm putting it here. somewhat tmi i guess and it's about some pretty hardcore / lifestyle kink stuff, so. read at your own risk

ANYWAYS. last week i started texting with this guy near me who had very similar kink interests and stuff, and to make a very very long story short, it turns out he has two other subs and is now looking for a 24/7 D/s thing with a service sub / slave who likes domestic work. basically just like a maid he can put into bondage and fuck, which just so happens to be precisely the kind of service i really enjoy but haven't had an outlet for in a long time (especially enforced domestic work), essentially since i stopped living with my previous owner (who is my best friend still who i love so, so dearly, that is not a sad story)

obviously if that were to happen, it would only be after we got to know each other extremely well and knew we clicked enough to sustain that kind of relationship, but idk, he seems genuinely super cool? unlike most cis guys LARPing that kind of relationship, he hasn't been all "if you're my submissive you must do what i say and be devoted to me and only me always", he communicates like someone who's actually done this before and knows that one-note, no flexibility dynamics like that really don't work except for a tiny, tiny number of people. he seems very understanding that i have other people and things in my life that i care about, and any move into something higher protocol would involve looking at what is a reasonable amount of time i can give him in person each week while still being able to maintain those things i care about in the rest of my life, and what expectations would look like when i wasn't there in person, check-ins, responsibilities, etc. which seems incredibly minor but is very much not among cis guys looking for 24/7 D/s dynamics lmao

and, like. a confusing part of my relationship with kink is that while i have 0 romantic interest in men, i can very much find them attractive and enjoy playing with them, and it seems like neither of us are looking for a romantic aspect to this even if it were to go full on high protocol shit, which is just such a relief, it feels like a lot less pressure that way. i've been into kink for over a decade as my almost exclusive form of sexual relationship (and most of my romantic ones), so i know what i want and what i need, and he at least talks like he does too, in a way that feels genuine and not like someone bullshitting. and also he used to foster kittens and has 4 cats and a dog!! this is somewhat unrelated to the previous information but it was a big green flag for me so i'm putting it here.
