The Plan

"Okay so what are we gonna do about Y/N and Vernon?"

The group of 12 decided they have had enough of the weird tension between their two friends. They all gathered at Mingyu's apartment to come up with a plan that could get the two to reconcile.

Of course they also made this meetup an excuse to get Mingyu to cook them a meal and for Seungcheol to buy them some drinks.

In fact the meetup was starting to look like one of their bbq nights.

Chan, who was currently making himself a wrap, spoke up, "Yeah we gotta figure out how to get the two to make up. I can't work under these conditions anymore!"

Jeonghan nodded his head. "Yeah and I don't think I can play another round of Dress to Impress with Y/N. One can only troll so much on Roblox."

"No yeah we definitely need to get them to reconcile."

"I've had enough of seeing Vernon eat Toast every lunch"

"Yeah I don't know if I can do another Taco Bell run with Y/N. Everything tastes the same to me know"

"And if I have to listen to Vernon explaining which Shrek movie is the best out of the whole franchise again I'm gonna crash out for real"

With a mouth full of rice, Soonyoung made a sound of agreement. "Whaf ebenf haftend-" he let out muffled.

"I don't know but I'm guessing it happened after work on Tuesday. They were fine with each other during their closing shifts that day, but when they came in the next morning they were acting so cold to each other." Dokyeom said while continuing to flip the meat on the grill.

From across the table Junhui was eyeing the biggest piece pork belly on the grill.

Joshua made a displeased face. "Maybe they were just mad they had to open after closing"

"Nah" Seungkwan started, "They were both being normal to everyone else. Plus the two of them play games til like 2 AM everyday so it doesn't make a difference if they closed the night before.

The piece of pork was one flip away from being grilled to perfection.

"WAIT THATS IT!" Wonwoo exclaimed.

"Huh"

Seokmin flipped the piece of pork.

Wonwoo stood up to explain, "Tuesday nights are when we work on our Minecraft neighborhood."

"Nerds" Seungcheol interrupted.

Wonwoo rolled his eyes. "Anyway. They were fine before I left the discord call and the Minecraft server and that was a little after midnight. So something most likely happened after that."

He then looked over to Soonyoung and Seokmin. "You guys were still in the server with them after I left right? Did anything happen?"

Soonyoung shrugged. "We weren't there for long after you left.."

"Yeah we got kicked out of the call and the server since we kept arguing because Soonyoung killed my horse!" Seokmin glared at the so called horse killer.

"THAT WASNT MY FAULT AND YOU KNOW IT"

"THE SCREEN LITERALLY SAID 'KING KONG WAS SLAIN BY HORANGHAE96' OF COURSE IT WAS YOUR FAULT"

Junhui finally picked up the precious piece of pork and put it on his plate.

"I was just trying to ride your horse." Soonyoung pouted. "I didn't know I was hitting him with my sword"

"There's literally a button to get on the horse" Jihoon interjected.

"HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW!"

Right as Soonyoung yelled out his defense, he stood up with his arms out, bumping into Junhui's shoulder in the process making Jun drop the piece of pork belly he had almost brought to his mouth.

"Wait you named your horse King Kong?" Joshua quesy Seokmin.

Junhui now stares at his piece of pork that is now on the floor.

"Whatever. It doesn't matter" Mingyu said as he brought in some more bowls of rice. "Let's just figure out what happened and how to fix it."

Seungkwan agreed. "Yeah! We're losing the plot!"

"Why don't yall go back on the server and see if anything happened." Minghao suggested.

Jun settles for the next best piece of pork.

"Oh what the fuck"

"It says Vernon made the world private"

"What does that mean?"

"It means only he can he join the server."

"Tell Vernon to come over right now. We need answers!"

15 minutes later

"So yeah. Basically I accidentally led a creeper into the underground tunnels we have connecting our houses together and Y/N got too close to it and it ended up blowing up part of her house. Specifically Dumbledore's room." Vernon explained.

"Dumbledore? Like the wizard? I thought you guys were playing Minecraft?"

Wonwoo sighed. "Y/N named her cat in Minecraft Dumbledore"

"Ohhh"

"So that explains why she's mad at you" Minghao concludes. "Now why are you mad at her?"

Vernon runs his hands up and down his face.

"So after the creeper exploded Y/N got mad at me because when she went to go look at the damage she noticed that Dumbledore was gone. And because she got mad at me she went to my house and destroyed my bed and then she started chasing me around with her netherite sword. Before I knew it she killed my character and I had to respond at the default spawn point because she destroyed my bed. At least I had the coordinates but Y/N turned them off so I couldn't go back to the neighborhood. So then I got mad and we started arguing and then it ended with me kicking her out of the server." Vernon ended with a frown on his face.

"I'm not even mad at Y/N, it was just in the moment. Now I feel so bad because her house is destroyed and Dumbledore is gone"

"Yall are really fighting over some stup-" Jihoon starts.

"What Jihoon means to say is that we can fix this." Seungkwan says as he covers Jihoon's mouth before he could finish his sentence that could have potentially made Vernon even sadder.

"Yeah just spawn a cat that looks like Dumbledore and say that he was outside and not in his room." Joshua says.

Seems reasonable.

Vernon looks at the group with an unconvinced face. "I don't know guys. That just feels wrong."

Jeonghan pats the younger boy's back. "If it makes you feel any better, that's probably the 9th Dumbledore we'll replace"

Vernon looks up at him.

"WHAT"

Jeonghan nods. "Yeah the original Dumbledore was gone a long time ago. It got in the way when I was trying to shoot arrows at a skeleton and I ended up hitting him instead."

Vernon's jaw dropped.

"I accidentally left his door open once and a zombie got to him." Soonyoung admitted.

"Pretty sure Mingyu killed him once too because he thought it was a mob"

Vernon looked to the group with his eyes wide. "So you guys have been replacing Dumbledore with a clone every time you get him killed?"

"Yeah pretty much"

"Do you think Y/N will believe us?"

"How do you even have the cat spawn egg? We turned off the option to switch to creative mode."

"I have my ways"

"OH MY GOD! Dumbledore was outside in the garden Vern! He's perfectly fine!" Y/N cheered over the discord call.

"Thank goodness he's safe." Vernon says slowly.

"Aw I'm sorry I made you go back to the OV spawn point." Y/N says apologetically. "Here let me turn on cords so you can get back and we can keep expanding the tunnels!"

"Down! We should rebuild Dumbledore's room first!"

"Right!" Y/N laughed. "Let's go!"

As the two were playing and chatting over discord, the rest of the 12 boys looked over at Vernon smiling at the computer screen with a fond smiles on their faces.

Balance was restored.

Just finished the game and ahhhh. I'm totally gonna buy the DLC. It was just a comfy experience and now when I listen to the track 2:23 AM I remember back to how I felt comfortable chatting with Casper, feeling at peace. Man. This might become a comfort song for me when I'm feeling down.

Ah, also I got the Sealed with a Kiss ending. Pretty CG. Even though I'm asexual and it didn't trigger anything sexual I can appreciate how he looked, his hair all around him and his face when he was waiting for a kiss is so GAH.

Very very cute.

Once finished I looked up what achievements I'm missing and I see 2 of them are bad ends which nope Don't want to see a sad Casper so, not gonna do them now. Maybe later once I feel it might not hurt as much. But, on another note, I am gonna go for the marriage ending, that I am SO curious of what it'll look like.

Aw geez, Casper is so sweet. Willing to run away from his job and possibly be eliminated if he's caught. I was real worried that he'd have to do something more extreme. Here's hoping that we'll be fine together in the DLC. I swear if there's an ending where he gets caught and is terminated I am going to be devastated. There probably is cause otome games love that delicious angst in bad endings (and sometimes good endings too). I hope that while on the run he also brought Azrael. Our pet and Azrael can become buddies! Other than that It's been a while since I've played an otome and gosh did I miss them. The giggling and all around good time. I've mostly been playing games that go on for a while or don't have an end point (Twisted Wonderland, Fields of Mistria, Minecraft, Shining Nikki). It's good to actually finish a game, even if it means I have to say goodbye for now to Casper.

hi starry!!! <3 i've been seeing so many stick men on my dash, and i've gotten super curious. the fandom wiki page answered none of my questions, so i thought i'll turn to the resident expert <3 <3 <3 whomst may be these characters and where do they come from?

RESIDENT EXPERT SJDLFJSKDJ THANK YOU I GUESS?? i'm just very autistic abt these silly sticks, i don't think i'm much of an expert

the stickfigures are from Alan Becker's Animation Vs series/franchise (calling it a franchise seems wrong but there's multiple series under the umbrella so idk how else to describe it) on youtube! i'm gonna go into more detail on that but i'm putting it under a cut because i don't know how long this'll get to be completely honest

also sorry if this takes a while to get answered i wanted to collect screenshots and visuals

So i'm not gonna get into a full play-by-play, mainly to avoid spoiling you, but the series can be kinda split up into a few different categories (the first two being the "primary" series of the overarching series)

ALSO the creator refers to all the sticks with he/him but a lot of people tend to headcanon differently (it's me i'm people) so i might use my own hc pronouns for characters. honestly part of the series' appeal is the fact that there's wiggle room for headcanons to emerge.

anyway! starting off with the og:

Animator vs Animation

animator vs animation starts off with the simple question of, "hey what if my drawings came to life and fought me", which is somewhat of the overarching question through the first 3 installments

the fourth one winds up turning that question on it's head by the end because of this silly li'l guy, The Second Coming (usually called second or orange by the fandom)

by the end of ava 4, second (and the friends they found on a website) have reached an understanding with the animator (who's also alan, it's a bit confusing but i try to think of it like mcyt rules where there's the creator and then the character), and are now friends with him. ava 1-4 were recently bundled into being animator vs animation season 1, i'd recommend you start with these four if you want to watch the other series.

ava seasons 2 and 3 (season 3 is currently ongoing) take a bit of a different turn, delving into the previously left up to question fates of the past three sticks that alan had made in ava 1-3, along with also dropping some bombshells of lore here and there. semi related side note i'm taking the chosen one and shaking them in a tupperware violently.

Animation vs Minecraft

this one is the longest of the different series, with 35 episodes (36 counting the original). it also pulls off the "mainly filler eps until everything suddenly spurs into motion" thing very well. it's also funny because the series started out named as "animation vs minecraft shorts" when episodes in season 3 would get up into at least 20 minute runtimes.

this series is where we start to get personalities developed for the four sticks that second befriended in ava 4, through the lens of different minecraft niches, from animal care to potions to redstone to noteblocks.

avm seasons 1 and 2 focus more on exploring the different aspects of minecraft (such as build battles), though season 1 does have a very brief arc involving this other stick, purple

(purple shows up in later episodes as well)

speaking of purple, if you're watching animation vs minecraft as a whole, make sure to watch animation vs leauge before you get to season 3 otherwise there could be a brief moment of confusion.

"but starry idk anything about minecraft-" THAT'S OK!! sorry for yelling i got excited. the series does a pretty good job of laying down the basics of the more complex mechanics before the stickfigures proceed to take it to heights that are probably not achievable in vanilla.

"starry what about season 3-" I'M GLAD YOU ASKED sorry got excited again. season 3 takes a hard pivot from "semi-unconnected episodes with maybe a few overarching elements" to "fully episodic adventures that will genuinely make you a bit emotional at times near the end". it also starts with blue going to find netherwart before the escalation escalates and trust me once you know how the season ends that seems so much funnier.

season 4 goes back to the less sequential episodes, just with a few status quo updates from the end of season 3 added in, namely the occasional addition of two characters from season 3 that people go feral over seeing included.

I'LL ALSO USE THIS SPACE TO TALK ABOUT THE ACTUAL SHORTS, which, as stated, are shorts that don't have a runtime over a minute or a minute and a half. they're somewhat of a mix between minecraft themed and being themed around other aspects of the series (there's one where the sticks and alan try to max out a clicker game, for example).

animation vs education

these ones are a bit less "plot" and a little more "hey look at this cool thing". the only character we're familiar with to be in this is second, and we essentially follow them going through these various black spaces exploring different educational concepts. right now we have avmath, avphysics, and avgeometry.

they all manage to be engaging and interesting even when the concept being explored reaches the point where you might not understand what the heck is going on (a big example for me being when avphysics started getting into more theoretical stuff, the sequence was cool enough that i didn't even care that half of it was going over my head).

i also feel like these are the ones that people unfamiliar with the series are likely to find? at least when i mention the series usually if someone's heard of it it's cuz they've watched avmath or avphysics.

even though these don't seem to have any connection to the main series (though a lot of people hc that they're second's dreams), i still recommend giving these a watch if for no other reason that they're really cool!

influencer arc

this one's the newest bit added to the umbrella! it's a 3-episode arc about one of the sticks, green, making a youtube channel with his friends and also exploring adobe products. we only have one episode of this so far, and it was funny because everyone was literally going feral over it when it released.

this one's also fun because there's an actual youtube channel for green, so you can see the full version of the videos they make in the episodes! the channel was leaked before the episode release so everyone went feral over that then too. the videos on the channel are very much "kids messing around with a camera" vibes.

the one-off eps

there's quite a number of these that explore different things, like animation vs youtube, where second and green manage to tick off a video player, or the team trees and team seas videos where blue gets the ability to grow trees and remove trash with money (at least in second's dreams). like i said, for understanding one aspect of avm season 3 (namely why everyone's fairly chill with purple when meeting them), i recommend watching animation vs leauge before reaching season 3, purple shows up there.

if you want me to go more in depth about the characters themselves (with some of my headcanons bleeding through a li'l), let me know and i can make a part two! i recommend giving the series a watch if you want to understand better but you'll likely want to break it up into more managable chunks

I wanna... genuinely try my best to actually tell a potentially interesting, engaging story with an OC I've held near and dear to my heart for the last decade and a half. Draco's my pure-hearted little boy who can do no wrong but embodies the autism creature to a T.

I will try my damn hardest to keep consistent activity on this blog unlike many other muses I just kinda get a big boon of energy for, then immediately drop. Thank goodness I've had this OC for as long as I have, eh? Means I'm actually invested.

The plot will be rather slow burn, a clue here, an event there, but I want to tell a story that other people can not only get invested in, but potentially even turn in different directions. Draco is a very malleable person who trusts more than he should, so pointing out the flaws in his thinking or giving him guidance towards certain choices can drastically affect my plans here. And I want that.

It will start with low stakes. It will steadily ramp up to rather personally dangerous "medium" stakes, and the planned climax's many outcomes will have SELF-CONTAINED high stakes that cannot, nor will not affect anything but Draco's own canon. They will be world-changing, not world-destroying. Whether that's a good or bad thing is grounds for you all to find out more through Draco's experiences.

Ok so I've been seeing a lot of critique posts on The Realm and how things are being currently run and I figured I might as well throw my hat into the ring as a guy who is generally passionate about game design. I wanna go over all the moving parts in the server so far and talk about why I feel they do or do not work. Does that sound fun? I hope so. I'm gonna start with the factions, because if I'm being completely honest they are. the root of the problem. If you consider most if not all of the issues so far, they can all be looped back over to the factions as a sort of "inciting incident" to everything. so. Whats up with the factions? How did this all happen? The big issue with the factions that we are still seeing the effects of happened on day 1 of the event. They did something that they should NOT have done, and that's tying the gameplay mechanic to the pre-established cliques in the server. By no fault of the players who were just doing whatever they felt like at their own pace, the Kingdom of fools just so happened to become the most noticeable thing from the moment you spawn in, with foolish already recruiting people in long before the factions were ever established. Now, as a result, the factions are highly unbalanced, with yellow having a much greater number than blue or green. Along with this, there is now the red faction which is also imbalanced against blue and green, and to my understanding, there was also no choice in the matter of whether or not they had to actually be in this faction. For the undecided players, they have to choose a faction whether they want to or not. All of this is what kinda snowballed into literally everything else. Such as!! The weekly item collection quotas.

At a surface level, having a weekly quota to complete to incentivize people to play on the server each week seems like a really good thing! But this is offset by a couple of things right off the bat. The teams are of course imbalanced, and while that doesn't really matter competitively, it has led to the item amounts being increased for yellow to try and balance things back out. But this does something that's kinda becoming a theme on the server, which is instead of going back on one bigger problem, they tack something new onto the problem to fix it. But as a result, all it does is create another problem, or worse, two problems!! Put a pin in that since we got an example of it later. The other issue is that the punishment for failing is a pretty big one; that being losing a life. The reward for completing it is kinda boiled down to short-lived relief until you gotta run it back and do it all over again. And that kind of gameplay loop can be pretty stressful to deal with due to. The many issues regarding the life system.

Once again, I feel like the life system on its own has no issues! It's essentially a different flavour of hardcore minecraft, which encourages players to be more cautious and risk-averse, while also making them do something high-risk in order to get their lives back. On its own, it's a pretty good, straightforward system. But. This is quickly offset by how many things can fucking kill you. For starters, mobs are already more dangerous. I believe they're at hardcore difficulty at the start and that's already a lot, especially if you aren't a hardcore player, but on top of that, there is the threat of losing a life if you can't complete the item quota, and NOW there are other players who are supposed to just go out and kill people, adding yet another thing to worry about. The life system is starting to become a little bit too intense as a result, with there being more and more things you have to pay attention to and worry about.

And maybe all this isn't so bad. But there's an issue I'm beginning to see and it loops back to that thing I said about adding new problems as means to fix old ones. Snails?

As funny as it is to take a page out of wild life's book and give players with too-high levels immortal snails that decrease their levels, I think it is planting seeds for a much bigger potential issue, and that is the introducing of constant new gimmicks in what is essentially supposed to be a vanilla+ minecraft server. Instead of going to the root of problems and reworking them from the ground up (which, mind you, is very possible to do this early on in the server's run), gimmicks are introduced to get rid of the problem. The more problems there are, the more gimmicks there will be. And too many gimmicks will stop being fun and start being hard to keep track of and annoying. Gimmicks are a longevity killer. So. What can be done to fix literally all of these issues?

It might disappoint some to hear that the answer is sadly and simply put; you have to kill your darlings. Take it from me when I say that sometimes, getting rid of the aspects you love most can sometimes be the very best thing you can do for a project, and can even result in something that you love even more. So let's take this from the top here. Here is my jot list of things that could be done for each of these problems to fix them (this post is long enough as is):

change how the factions are structured entirely. Don't split them up based on cliques, and instead, make people group up with whoever they want, granted those groups are evenly split.

each group has to collect the same item every week. same item, same amount. OR make them all collect really similar items, i.e; one group collects oak saplings, one collects spruce saplings, and one collects birch saplings

Instead of punishing players for not completing the weekly item collection challenges, reward them for completing it! give them tons of skill points or helpful items. have players race for first second and third!

Don't limit the challenges to multiples of one item. Spice things up every week! First team to collect every music disc! First team to complete a scavenger hunt we made! First team to conquer a bastion together! Get creative with it so not every challenge is just grinding for objects!

make the challenges optional! You don't have to participate at all if you don't want to, and your only punishment is getting a smaller share of the team's reward.

please just let people decide for themselves if they want to be in the hostile faction. Or no faction at all! don't force them to choose. That's no fun.

if people are too high leveled, make a lower level cap and slowly increase it as time goes on or players complete more challenges! maybe increasing the cap can even be a reward!

The biggest problem right now is that a lot of the current decisions are squishing down the initial concept of player freedom by forcing them into factions, not letting them level up how they want, and punishing them for being good at the game. These kinds of issues can't go unnoticed for long, especially if more issues start to pile up on top of each other. If the players are ok with how things are then that's all that matters, but these are just my personal critiques as someone who really wants this server to be able to stay alive.

i was gonna come in here with a Really Cool crossover idea w/ another game i've been playing recently, but then i realized i've only been playing minecraft (other than ac), which then led me to the idea of all the assassin's creed charas on a server together, and then i realized that the Normal, Logical thing would be for it to be a modern au, but the Hilarious and Chaotic option would be if it was, instead, that the server just. magically exists in all time periods. there's been weirder Isu BS before, i'm sure.

Man, can you just imagine this though?

The Gray is a vast empty space. It’s boring.

So when Desmond and Clay got stuck in it because Juno has a sick sense of ‘reward’, that bitch, they’re about to go crazy when they see something pop into existence.

It’s Altaïr just the way he looked when he had gotten married to Maria.

Altaïr had sorta-kinda maybe been fiddling with this little coin-like thing to get away from the mountain of paperwork that needed his attention because he had just been hopping all around the nearby area with his then-sorta-girlfriend-sorta-we’re-not-labeling-it before finally returning to Masyaf. They found the coin in one of the hidden rooms in Alamut. The Assassins there just sent it to ask if maybe Altaïr could figure out if it’s related to the Apple or not.

And Desmond and Clay are like “Isu bullshit?” “(nods) Isu bullshit.”

They try different things out and figure out that Altaïr could create small blocks of white light if he rubs the coin.

And he disappears when he drops the coin.

He visits again a few minutes later and they realize that rubbing the coin in ‘the real world’ transfers him to the Gray and he returns to the real world if he drops it here in the Gray.

They experiment some more. They learn time does not pass if Altaïr stays in the Gray and he can’t take any item with him to the Gray nor can he drop anything he already has.

Altaïr: If that’s true then why am I still wearing my clothes?

Desmond: Isu bullshit.

Altaïr: Are we truly making that the excuse for everything we cannot explain?

Desmond: Clay…

Clay: We believe that your real body isn’t being transferred here, it’s your mind. And it’s your mind that’s telling this place that you need clothes so you get clothes.

Desmond: In other words: Isu Bullshit.

Altaïr: (stares at Desmond for a moment before turning to look at Clay) He’s going to say that every time he thinks it’s too much of a pain to explain things, isn’t he?

By the time Ezio ‘visits’ the Gray, they’re halfway on their way into making their first ‘home’ because what else are they supposed to do with Altaïr’s block-making coin anyway?

Ezio has so many questions and Desmond just goes “help us with this and we’ll talk”.

By the time Ratonhnhaké:ton gets there, they’ve just finished creating the walls of Monteriggioni and he had to play third vote as to what their main home would look like: Villa Auditore or Masyaf Fortress.

Ratonhnhaké:ton (at this point used to the weirdness because of Juno’s whole ‘drink this drug so we can communicate’ thing with the crystal skull) just shrugs and went “why not just combine the two?”

Edward was pretty sure he was sooooo drunk he was dreaming the first time he got there. So when these weird men ask him what he wanted to build, he went “My ship!” and proceeded to give them a rough description of his ship before dropping his coin because he was SO drunk.

The next time he got there, he was definitely sober and absolutely confused why he needed to build the Jackdaw in what he assumed to be the afterlife or purgatory.

All he got was “We already started it so we’re finishing it. This was your idea, drunk or not. You’re helping!”

When Arno got there, he was greeted by a ‘oh my god my eyes!’ glowing walled town that he can walk into. At the edge of the walled town stood a large fortress.

… Arno is SO confused right now.

When he entered the fortress, there was a large training ring with a castle keep up ahead that leads… to a mansion… with a forest behind it???

… And there was a ship in the middle of it.

The glowing walled town had a forest AND a ship as well???

Arno is so confused and his confusion only grows when he is greeted by a heated debate by two Assassins he was sure were cosplaying as the two great mentors of the Brotherhood (just how drunk was he right now???) about what to build next.

A chill dude sees him and says, “Why don’t we just get the new guy to pick our next project?”

And that is how the Gray starts the development of the courtyard of Versailles on the empty space to the left of the glowing town of…

Desmond: Monteyafport.

Altaïr: We are not calling it that.

Ratonhnhaké:ton: This place doesn’t even have anything from the Davenport Homestead?

Clay: Well, you picked the forest near your village, not Davenport Homestead. That’s on you, buddy.

Evie lets out a loud squeaking sound and grabbed her brother’s arm so tight he shouts, making everyone look at them.

In the end, they decided to add Big Ben next to the villa. (“And a pub!” “Yes, Jacob. You and Arno can renovate one of the houses in town to be a pub.”)

Is it me, or are long text posts just better when the text is shrunk? It's just very pleasing to me for some reason, and I really really like it. Makes me feel calm. I'm trying to recreate that, but uh. I'm running out of things to say. So I'm gonna tell yall some stories. But ✨️aesthetially✨️

First story - so I like playing minecraft. And a while ago I was playing this one survival world(I think it's deleted now but I'm not sure). I'm just wandering a snowy biome and trying to get out of it because I fucking HATE snowy biomes. So I eventually come across this ravine thing? It was like a cave with an opening at the top with a river at the bottom I guess? And I was crouched at the edge of the ravine thing, just looking down it because why not. While I'm doing that, a fucking POLAR BEAR comes from behind me and hits me into the fucking ravine, into the water, so that was fun. I almost drowned because that was a really deep river and a very high edge of the ravine so I almost drowned. :) 👍

Second story - so it's like may of 2020. It's covid, we're at home, etc etc. On our front porch, we have a roof thing over it with pillars at each corner of it. In the corners, where the pillar met the roof thing, a couple of birds made some nests. The one closest to our door was beginning to be made by a chickadee or a finch before a bluejay kicked it out and claimed the nest for itself(that's what my dad said he saw idk). The bluejay hung around for a while, occasionally flying away and bringing sticks or going to eat or something. This went on for like, 2-3 weeks. Then, one night, when my sister and I were waiting on the front porch to be picked up by my nana for a sleepover that weekend, we heard some tweeting from the nest. I saw maybe two baby bluejays, but a couple of days later, my mum said she saw at least four. That was pretty cool until a grackle came by and killed and ate three of the babies. I was pretty sad about that. But after that, I was very careful about watching that last baby when the mum wasn't around. After a good week or so, the baby was pretty grown, and I called him Baby because I was a stupid idiot baby then, and I thought, why not. My mum sat on the porch to smoke a lot in the spring and summer, so she saw the baby try to jump out of the nest multiple times, same as my dad when he sat out there with her, just talking. But one rainy day, I noticed that the baby bird was missing from its nest, and I had thought that he had jumped out and soon figured out how to fly. Or so I thought. Because couple of days later, when it was sunny again, I asked my mum if I could go on my bike. She said yes, so I grabbed the keys to the garage and the side gate. I grabbed my bike out of the garage and walked down the short path while talking to my mum(she sometimes sits out on the deck to smoke) about this dead baby robin I found on the sidewalk while biking one day when I realized I almost RAN OVER THE FUCKING BABAY BLUEJAY. the little fucker was just sitting right in the path without a care in the world. I told Mum, and she went inside to get a towel so we could move him out of the backyard because we had three very big dogs(rest in peace, Tank, I will love you forever) that would probably eat him without a second thought. After about 10 minutes of chasing him around, Mum says to leaving him alone where he was(being in the neighbors front garden, I think). So I go biking for a while and when I come back the little fucker is sitting in the path to the side, on one of those things you'd find in garden shops with bags of dirt on them ig? They were proped up against our garage, and the baby was sitting on the bottom part of it, scaring the living shit out of me. After I put my bike away, I come back to him, and I just sit on the ground in front of him. You know what happened. I fucking pet him. Like the awesome badass i am. He didn't even try to bite me or pull away, either. A few days pass by, and every night, he tries to fly out over our fence(and failing, resulting in faceplanting into the fence). After a while, he managed to climb into our lilac tree and hopped/flew into a bigger tree, and left. Didn't see him again after that. I also renamed him BJ. 👍👍👍

Black Flag - Revenge: i've been trying to rediscover my love for some of my favorite hardcore genres, so i took it all the way back to the early days and reconnected with one of my favorite bands. i encountered this song in high school when trying to find clean black flag songs that i could put in a piece i was writing about the history of metal (which the band is not, but hardcore is significant in the history of the genre anyway). it's a great thrash-and-basher and apparently has not been in my playlist until now, which i was unaware of lol

The Beatles - Strawberry Fields Forever: once again i must admit to listening to the beetles.... alas. look it's a really good song, the lead-in to the chorus is fucking amazing, the instrumentation is really interesting and unique, it just washes over you like waves of sound. plus it's goofy as hell

Girls Rituals - Hole/The Used: okay funny story on this one. this was the first song i ever heard from any of devi's projects, it was before i even really knew who black dresses was. this song appeared in my release radar and i was like "who the fuck is this" and i'm convinced it only happened because the title is the names of two bands which i WAS already listening to at the time. and i listened to the song and said "this is really bad, and i don't understand why anyone would listen to this." and then i mostly forgor about it. skip forward to recently - i am obviously a big fan of devi's work and plenty of other projects adjacent to this. i get a big new batch of songs in my playlist (hello again to violet shoutout violet) and this song is in here. i listen to it. it's good :) take that, me from two years ago

NEVER LIKED THAT IT PUSHED THE "POPULAR VS NERD" NARRATIVE, I HATE THE FACT THAT THEY KEEP ON MAKING IT LIKE BBH WAS THE WORST EVER AND THEY WERE PERFECT LITTLE DEFENSELESS VICTIMS, THEY LITTERALY GIVE ME PTSD FROM HIGH SCHOOL FROM THE WAY THEY TREATED AND STILL TREAT OTHERS, I HATE HOW THEY KEEP ON REWRITTING THE STORY TO MAKE IT SEEMS LIKE THEY HAVE SUFFERED WAY MORE THAN OTHER TEAMS EVEN TO THIS DAY.

If you haven't guessed, all my mains were on team soulfire, but i still watched a bunch of Bolas POV (mostly Foolish, Slime and Etoiles later), and I think I can talk for a lot of soulfire defenders or at least viewers when I say that social medias had been terrible during that time. But I was naive and thought that since it's all roleplay, all q! characters are gonna realise it was for the eggs and reunite like before, cause all that mattered were the eggs, right? right?... Well, now purgatiry's over, and it still feels to me like it's gonna be popular vs nerd for at least a while, and it makes me sad.

I'm not saying everything q!bbh did was ok and should be forgotten, but some Bolas members said they couldn't RP in Purgatory when all q!bbh, all q!Tubbo, all q!Aypierre... and basically everything soulfire did WAS RP ! All that ever counted for q!bbh was the eggs, so of course in RP he would do anything authorized to get them back. q!Aypierre turning against q!Tubbo because he felt betrayed by the other teams was also very RP and it's sooo easy to see that it was. When Bolas gave up on the cursed team, q!Tubbo was cooking hard with the lore and tried talking to Bolas, but they made it impossible to have a normal RP conversation. And well, that's legit and that's their choice, nothing to blame here, just please don't complain about lack of RP because imo they were the one refusing it, or belittling it.

Of course every qsmp character is the main character from their pov, but the forced "found family" portrayed by bolas that was actually just excluding people doesn't sit well with me.

Even now, ignoring other character's lore that they in game, in lore, should be aware of just to keep on playing victims or demanding reparation with no real prior communication makes me upset.

Sorry for that, I try to keep it very general, because every exemple I have could be justify in their own pov, and i get it. Just... Well i hope we could go back to how it was before I guess...

Hi! Your Hivecraft server looks really interesting! I've seen someone play on a server modded with what is essentially a first person rpg version of Sburb, but I've never seen anyone do an Alternia based map before! That's really cool!!!!! I have a few questions about it tho:

1. Will you be able to choose if you're a Human or a Troll?

2. If you can, will you be able to choose your blood colour as a Troll? Or is there some kind of mechanism for that?

3. Will Trolls have lusii? And if they do, can you choose what they are?

4. Will the server be private?

5. If it's not, will it be only PC accessible or will there be PC and Mobile versions?

6. Will you add the Minestuck mod or is this more of a 'Slice of Life, Living on Alternia' kinda thing?

7. Any unique resources like Sopor Slime?

8. Will there be any Persterchum or Trollian-like thing on to allow players to communicate?

9. Even if there isn't, can the players still have speech quirks?

That's all of my questions for now! Hopefully you'll have time to answer them!

Thank you! I've heard of people doing stuff like that but I was always more of a fan of the alternia themed world building etc. This is my first time playing Minecraft though so this project is sort of a learning experience.

Lots of good questions here so I'll do my best to answer

1. I don't think that's something I'm gonna manage for people, they can change their skins if they want or make custom models but I'm not sure that I could implement that for other people myself

2. As far as I know I don't think Minecraft has any sort of blood effects unless a mod or resource pack is installed but I don't have anything like that here so far. I AM planning to make some placeable items that look like blood splatters in different colors though

3. I can make mobs of lusii in the future that just act as animals do in game so I'm sure people could tame them and give them name tags so they don't despawn. I've already made some purple bees and I do wanna play with custom mob models later

4. I think I'll probably make a discord for it later where I can see how many people are interested and get it opened once things are more built out. It'll be open publicly then but I don't wanna pay for server hosting every month so it can only be open if I'm actually online

5. I think Minecraft in general is capable of cross console play?? I could be wrong but I'm working on PC so idk how well mobile would work especially with resource packs

6. I've never heard of that mod before tbh but I'm trying so far to not use mods and only use resource packs I'm making because that way everything can be server side and people don't have to download to join. This might change depending on what I wanna put in though. I sort of imagined more as a "slice of life thing" in survival mode. Just a fun alien sandbox for people to play in

7. FUNNY U SAY THAT I did TRY to make a sopor liquid in MCreator and technically succeeded. It had its own properties and everything

Unfortunately, MCreator only works on 1.19.2 and I've been making everything else on 1.19.3 😔 I tried testing it out in a 1.19.2 world but it just didn't wanna cooperate. I'll probably just have to wait until MCreator updates to 1.20...

8. I think just the current in game chat will be what's used or people can discord each other if they like

9. They can if they type that way sure! I think there's websites where u can basically "translate" whatever you type into a custom quirk but it won't be implemented in the server specifically. People will have to type that way themselves, same as making skins

Gosh I don’t know… oh! He doesn’t know nothing about cooking! I feel like a lot of people have this idea that he’s Good at making meals, but I just don’t see it. He can’t cook nothing, man! A lifetime of immortality can’t change that! It’s ingrained into his very being.

He can, however, make incredible tea.

Everyone is embarrassed about it except Tommy, who gazes at himself with pure adoration and loudly declares that Phil should have more pictures of him.

Wilbur is more sad than anything, really. He looks around and sees who he used to be, and he knows he’s not that guy anymore. He kinda misses old-Wilbur.

Honestly? I can’t remember!

Now that I’m thinking about it, I find it strange that I like Wilbur so much in the first place; he’s not really… my type, as far as fictional characters go. I don’t typically like the dramatic, main character-esque guys, which Wilbur most definitely is.

Most heroic moment

I think that time where Wilbur heard Schlatt being awful to Niki and decided to hurry down, showing himself in plain sight, and told Schlatt to leave her alone and hurt him instead was really heroic. Wilbur knew that if he showed himself, he could be captured or killed, but he did it anyway to try and save Niki. Just… yeah. Cool moment.

Drink of choice (not just alcoholic)

Hot chocolate! He loves that stuff! He dislikes tea, which angers Technoblade a Lot, but he will absolutely consume a mug of hot chocolate, even in the middle of summer. Tommy think it’s weird and wrong.

I saw a post one time that was like, “c!Wilbur is the type of guy to say ‘this water is spicy’ while holding a can of coca-cola” and I think about that a lot.

If they were a scented candle, what would they smell like?

Like… smoke and spring rain and coffee and a teeny bit of chocolate and whatever food he’d had that day (he is a messy eater so he constantly Smells of Food)

The candle would also smell dirty, because Wilbur does not shower (cc!Wilbur has confirmed this). It’s a problem.

Most annoying habit

I don’t find this annoying—it’s kinda fun—but he’s a messy eater. After every meal, he’ll either have food smeared on the edges of his lips or fingers covered in crumbs or spotty stains on his clothes or bits of food stuck between his teeth, or all of those things at once. He gets significantly more messy after he’s revived, and it annoys Tommy greatly.

True, Dream is the one who made things so bad, but Tubbo still put Tommy in Exile to begin with. It’s still his fault.

Sleeping habits

Very quiet sleeper! No snoring or sleep-talk or anything.

It always takes him a while to fall asleep; the blankets are too hot or too rumpled, and he’s not comfortable enough, and his pillow is too flat. He’ll wrestle with the bedding for a good while before laying flat on his back, breathing hard and staring at the ceiling.

And then he still can’t fall asleep, because his mind is racing.

Very long nights for Tubbo, yep yep.

He also has a habit of not realizing how late it’s getting, so he’ll stay up until 2am working on a little invention before Ranboo makes him stop.

But Tubbo always wakes up early! He hardly ever sleeps in!

Their favorite season

He likes spring because of all the flowers, and he loves summer because of the bees, and he likes autumn because of the cool weather, and he likes winter because of the snow.

Hmm.

I think I’d say he likes summer the best. Everything is green and colorful, and there’s bugs everywhere, and Tommy is always going on walks and exploring and he brings Tubbo along, and there’s swimming and shady trees and picnics with Ranboo, and Michael gets lots of ice cream :D

Sometimes, he doesn’t know when to stop. He gets so caught up in the thrill and excitement of doing something that he fails to see how it could hurt someone in the future.

Honestly, one of the first things that comes to mind is when Ghostbur’s about to die; Ghostbur is really panicking, and he’s scared and crying out, and Tommy is also really hekkin scared, and it’s awful.

But even in the midst of all that, Tommy still takes the time to help Ghostbur calm down by counting to ten. He didn’t have to do that, but he did.

I don’t know, I think that’s pretty heroic.

And also when he gave Dream the discs so that l’manburg could be free! I could tell it was really hard for him to do that, but he chose to be selfless and give them up anyway :’)

I feel like Tommy is pretty honest with himself and wouldn’t not admit something he’s done wrong. Hmm…

Maybe that he caused Ghostbur’s death, albeit indirectly. The only reason Ghostbur died was because he was doing what Tommy wanted him to do.

I think that probably weighs on Tommy a bunch.

Scars

A stab wound in his back from his first death, an arrow puncture in his chest from his second death, and lots of scars scattered about from his third death (he doesn’t like to pay attention to those).

In addition, he has lots of smaller scars from smaller fights, including a little line across his middle finger that he got when he was a kid. He… quite likes that scar lol

I think when he got his first scar as a little kid, he was pretty excited about it, and would flaunt it around and brag about it.

But then, once he realized that the scar would be there forever, he got sad :(

Tommy just seems like the type of guy that always has a bazillion band-aids on him. That’s one of my favorite headcanons, actually :)

Eating habits

Contrary to popular belief, he’s quite a neat eater! He doesn’t get all messy like Wilbur does.

No no, Tommy eats (most) of his food with a fork and he’s very polite and makes sure to wipe off all the food residue from his face with a napkin. Very polite Tommy Innit.

He really likes pasta, and fresh fruit, and burgers. He’s kinda lost his love for hot dogs, but they’re okay. He loves ice cream. He really likes sweet tea. He Dislikes lemons (gross!).

So basically he’s from South Carolina.

A memory they’ve blocked out

Like I said before, I think Tommy is very honest with himself and doesn’t try to hide things away.

Wilbur probably didn’t mean to do it, but he did, and it hurt Tommy, but Wilbur would never do something like that, so Tommy had to have imagined it, and the mark on his face is just a coincidence, and it’s not real, Wilbur would never do this, he wouldn’t… he wouldn’t do this? Would he?

Not to victim blame, but if u got traumatized on the internet as a kid, it's kinda ur fault. Hear me out here ok hear me out.

I've had unrestricted internet access my whole life, my parents never had any type of lock or control on my phone or whatever. Keep in mind that I've had this access since the third (ish) grade. The rule was if they ever caught me looking at something I shouldn't, I'd lose it forever. And I believed them lol.

The worst thing I ever saw as a kid was stacyplays and graser10 playing the drill, which is a minecraft horror map, if you're wondering. (I just looked it up to rewatch it just now and I can't find it so. You'll just have to believe me. I can't actually find anything at all about it, so maybe this all is a very elaborate hallucination on my part.) Anyway, the drill is a space station type, Alien sort of deal. There's a creature in there w you and it makes all sorts of spooky noises and I remember there's a really big jumpscare in the middle that terrified me as a kid.

I watched cinemasins and the kill count later on which can be a little worse but honestly the drill is the only thing that I can explicitly remember.

And don't say "well obviously you were ona different side of the internet than I was" aright Dr Main Character, calm down. We're all kids here, somewhere someway you trained the algorithm. Remember that the algorithm is based on you.

Of course I watched film theory too, which, duh, leads back to things like ddlc and fnaf. Here's where I start to get maybe a little controversial, because I watched Mark play a lot of the FNAF games as a kid, a whole bunch of em. I don't really love horror. I remember at the fair once there was a big decal on the side of one of the rides of a man getting eaten alive by zombies with a slit throat and that sorta put me off. So whenever FNAF got a lil too edgy for me, I clicked off the video.

Same thing with DDLC, and Silent Scream and Her Last Words and all that other bullshit that was on youtube in 2015 or whatever. There are warnings and I listened to them, I feel like that's to be expected.

Well apparently not lmao. Maybe I'm doxxing myself a lil here, but I'm in one of my classes we had this presentation project where we'd all pick a topic we know a lot about and make a lil PowerPoint on it and then present it to the class. Super cute and fun, I had a lot of fun with mine and I think the class had a lot of fun listening to me too. One kid did his presentation on the lore of FNAF, which of course brought up this whole discussion. The general consensus in class that day was that the kids are not at fault for seeing the whole Springtrap Ordeal, and that it was fucked up and yadda yadda, so traumatic. I didn't say any of this then because I'm honestly a little afraid a kid in this class who I'd be debating up against, but I'm gonna say it now.

Watching Something Else is the easiest thing to do on the internet. And I'm not saying that it was right for your parents to allow you on the internet so soon. I am saying that if you're reading this right now, you have the ability to Watch Something Else. Kids are dumb, that's not your fault that you were a dumb kid, I was dumb too. boruto gets back from the exams and Naruto has possibly one of the most awkward father-son conversations ever. boruto goes up to his room and hears a knock on the door. he says fuck off mom I'm playing minecraft!! but it's naruto! actually im gonna transcribe it cause it's so funny

Naruto: ... yo! um... ....i, er.... ... heard you passed... round two.

boruto:... yeah...

and oh no, we don't have time to deal with that because the aliens show up!! ahhh! they want narutos beast chakra for blah blah blah who cares. so they kidnap him. and sasukes like hey boruto let's go get your dad. 5kages like ok we're coming too so sasuke and the 5kage AND THIS RANDOM ASS GENIN... go get him in dimension 20 or wherever the fuck they go. OH YEAH. naruto yells at one of the aliens for relying on "doping" for power when they take some ninja pills or whatever. (COMPLETELY ignoring choji's whole thang of food pills. whatever. I <3 retconning) yeah I get its s'posed'a parallel what boruto is doing with the tools, but it sucks.
