How I think the Bakusquad would react to you pulling away from a kiss (part 1)

Katsuki Bakugo

This man would go crazy "What the H#LL do you think you're doing?" if you ever pulled away when he tried to kiss you, you wouldn't hear the end of it for at least a week even when he does forgive you before then he'll make little comments about it (cause we all know he holds grudges)

he'll proceed to go on a rant about how 'this is the dumbest s##t you've ever done' no matter your excuse whether it's valid or not you definitely won't be getting any affection for a good 30 minutes at the least. when he does decide to forgive you though (after a million begs and pleases) he'll pull away when you try to give him an apology kiss and as you sit there with an offended face, he'll just smirk and say: "yeah how's it feel dumb#ss?" you can't help but hate him and love him at the same time. oh and no doubt about it you'll get the most passionate rough kisses from him the entire week.

Eijiro Kirishima

He would be shocked at first but then it would slowly morph into sadness and as you quickly try to explain why you didn't give him a kiss, he'd already be ignoring you (not on purpose) and thinking in his head what on earth he did wrong and how he could make it up to you. the poor guy just wants you to be happy :(

after the incident (and you saying a million times how it was because you got distracted and that you weren't mad at him) he'd spend a good two weeks giving you random presents to make it up to you even though he didn't do anything wrong "baby? I got your favorite snacks while I was out" "hey baby-shark! I bought you a plushie!" this man will always try to make you happy whether he did something wrong or not and you better give him lots of kisses for his sake and your's.

Denki Kaminari

I think he'd gladly do skincare stuff with you if you were into that sorta thing, but he would also forget that stuff couldn't get into his mouth so when he tried to kiss your cheek when you had a face mask on and you pulled away from him.. he just rolled himself into a little ball on the floor and cried his eyes out. he would do an ugly cry too red eyes, snot and all.

you would immediately be surprised by this and ask him what's wrong and when he was able to finally speak, he'd look up at you and in the most dramatic voice say: "you don't love me anymore!" and thats how you would end up cuddling with him on the couch and stroking his hair and giving him little kisses while you both watched his favorite show (probably something having to do with cars) as a way to make up for not letting him kiss you. this how it ended every time he didn't get his way though so you were used to it and you didn't mind it

Sakura is so irrelevant in Sasuke's life that he doesn't even bother to call her by name and most importantly he devalues ​​her for being useless (as usual) so this pink useless scum is prefered to fall into the lava and die because she doesn't have the slightest value in Sasuke's life.

That's Sakura in Sasuke's life. Irrelevant enough to devalue her without even mentioning her name. He ends up shading her again when he tells Naruto to implant the Rinnegan into Kakashi OR the others. There was only Sakura and he didn't mention her name - again - that's how irrelevant she is and Sasuke is obviously just making fun of her. How funny. I love the canon manga. It just shows what Kishimoto thinks of Sakura and he despises her just as much as we all do. :)

Because in no way shape or form did he allow Karin to destroy the whole Gedomo-stature all by herself, something that useless pink garbage could never. ;)

Oh wait, he did :) And in Gaiden he brought up Karin again and proofed to us, Karin is the Anti-Sakura. She is mature while Sakura is immature. Karins love is selfless while Sakuras is selfish always "me, me, me". Don't forget the title "Scarlet spring" - scarlet = red = Karin. Even the title hints at Karin. Kishi could easily just use "cherry blossom spring". Japan is known for it's Sakura trees in spring time but nooooo, Kishimoto went all the way to call it scarlet and hint at Karin - AGAIN -

And Sarada is Karins child too. ;) Kishimoto clearly hates Sakura and SS in general and Gaiden was a way to spit in their faces.

It didn't take much.

A smile, a greeting. Asking about her opinions and experiences. The time he asked if she needed help carrying her bag (and she had to run away because if he came any closer he would notice the smell of blood coming from inside it), the time he asked her if she was coming to lunch (and she blushed so badly, Junko later said her face looked like one big zit). Or maybe it was nothing to do with her at all; maybe it was because of how he was with everyone else, or how they were with him.

Maybe it was even as simple as the fact that she was used to traveling light, used to picking a few things she could carry and disregarding everything else.

She could carry him easily.

"Uh, Mukuro?" he said. "Are you okay?"

Right, she'd been staring. He'd taken the time to ask her if she wanted to join his group for ice cream after school, and she was being weird.

How embarrassing. She was definitely blushing again, now.

Well, it wasn't like that mattered. She was weird. She was socially inept and ugly and useless, and none of that mattered. Because the world was going to end soon, anyway. Maizono or Kirigiri could take him to a school dance, but Mukuro could pull him from the school before it turned into a warzone.

"Go on without me," she finally said. "I need to discuss something with Junko."

"Oh, okay. See you tomorrow!" Makoto and his friends vacated the classroom, leaving only...the 'despair sisters'.

Junko was sitting in her seat, filing her nails. Mukuro walked over to her and just stood there, waiting to be acknowledged. There was no doubt that her sister already knew everything she was feeling. She always did.

"Well?" Junko eventually said, her eyes meeting Mukuro's with cool amusement. "Are you too scared to ask, or do you just love wasting my time, skank?"

"I'm not scared," Mukuro answered. She did have a heightened awareness of the seriousness of this situation, but what she felt wasn't fear. "And...I'm also not asking."

"Gadzooks! Could it be that the worm has grown a spine?!"

"He can easily be spared from the plan. We don't need him in order to do what we intend to do."

"No sh!t, dumb*ss! The despair doesn't kick in when it's fvcking necessary!"

"The despair doesn't kick in if the plan doesn't happen, either." Mukuro's fingernails bit into her palms, as she forcibly steeled her tone and held her sister's gaze. She'd never threatened disobedience like that before. "You have everyone else in the class. You have me. You don't need him. Really, for a guy like him to keep his memories and watch them die that way...it would be more despairful than losing his memories and getting killed in the first or second round without understanding anything."

"So. You're suggesting he languishes in the data center while the killing game plays out, then you collect him in your nasty little arms once it's all over? Once the world is in ashes and there's no one else to love but you?"

"Essentially, yes."

Junko's lips curved. "And what's your contingency plan for how he'll react to knowing your designs for him?"

"He won't know about it until it happens."

And Junko's expression went blank, as though she found Mukuro's answer terribly boring. She rolled her eyes. "Fvcking atrocious. I can't even hint with you. Hey, Ultimate Soldier. You didn't secure your perimeter. Kind of a rookie mistake, dontcha think?"

"What?"

She dipped her head to the side, indicating a desk a few seats away where a familiar composition book lay open. "He forgot his notebook, smart*ss."

Mukuro wheeled around and heard a gasp from the doorway, and then retreating footsteps.

She broke into a sprint. Naturally, she was able to catch him, hand-gag him, and drag him into an unoccupied classroom before he could even think to yell.

Makoto's ineffectual squirming, his kicking and his elbowing, his growling and his vain attempts to speak...Mukuro was sure that she was blushing again, as she allowed more of her body to touch his than was strictly necessary to subdue him.

She was restricting his airflow, so he was going to pass out very shortly. And then she would have to contend with her sister. But for now...

"H-Hi," she said awkwardly, as he struggled in her arms. "Um, sorry. Sorry that I, uh...If I'd known that this would happen, I would've laid down a rug here. And maybe worn some perfume. I mean, I guess you can't breathe anyway..."

Fortunately, Makoto lost consciousness before she could say anything else.

She let go of him, so she could watch him slide out of her arms and rest on the tiles, all helpless. She took stock of what he must have overheard. Jeez, she must have sounded like such a pathetic, lovesick...

She heard Junko coming before the door moved. Immediately, she positioned herself defensively in front of him. Her sister was not allowed to kill him. That was the one thing in the world she wasn't allowed to do.

"Well, this is a clusterfvck, isn't it?" Junko deadpanned. "I guess not much of a cluster. It's just him. This one tripping hazard of a guy. I could just bite his little cheeks."

"I've never asked you for anything. Just him."

"Au contraire! You're not asking, remember? Where did that spine go? Did your body reabsorb it?"

"I-"

"This is boring. Take him to your dorm room, keep him there. I'll figure out what to do about this, as always. Can you manage an iota of stealth this time, you troll?"

Mukuro's heart soared. "Yes. Thank you."

"Oh, shut up. Out of my sight."

She princess-carried him to her room.

Tw: abuse, suicide and sh

Long ass vent!!:

I don't know where else to post because they have me everywhere else but I need to say something. My ex was and still is abusive. No he didn't hit me, but he sure did a lot. Before we were dating he was amazing, we were friends for so long, we had such a good friendship. He had an "abusive" gf when we met. I hated her. He broke up with her and got with me the same day. That should have been my first red flag but it wasn't. He started telling everyone I was "abusive" as a joke. Saying I hit him, we were online tho so I couldn't have. He slowly started ignoring me but talking to everyone else, he also started doing stuff and would tell people how I reacted but never what he did. It just got worse from there. He would constantly make me feel like shit, he would ignore me, make me angry on purpose, argue with me then say we weren't arguing and he wasn't mad to make me feel bad, told me shit was a joke when I got upset, wouldn't listen to me when I shared how I felt, gaslit me a lot. He even stood up for his gbf when she called me ugly. He made me feel crazy. I wasn't perfect either though. I was jealous a lot, didn't trust him and was getting upset with small things even when he did nothing. Well I found out he was showing our conversations outta context to make me look horrible, and if he can't show our conversation because he'd look bad then he just says one thing or completely lies. There were a few times he was in the right though. I was in hell for 6 months. I didn't break up with him sooner because I thought he was gonna kill himself or hurt himself really bad so I just stayed because I didn't wanna be responsible for his death, but I also felt like and still feel like the issues are my fault. Eventually I just said I was lesbian (I'm not im bisexual.) to break up with him. Now he's telling everyone I was abusive and they all believe him. His friends cussed at me,called me slurs, and basically harassed me. I told him to make it stop and he didn't. I asked his ex about their relationship and found out he did the same thing. I feel like I can't back myself up tho because he has SS but won't show the content behind them. I feel like this is my fault. Like I shouldn't have reacted. I'm having panic attacks everyday because of him and his friends. I know I shouldn't have been angry and jealous so much but it hurts so much. I just want this all to be over. Idk if this post was because I wanted to call him out completely, get help or just to vent but ya I'm done now.

People don't realize the reason why the ending sucks is NOT because kishimoto is a bad writer. He knew damn well why he did what he did. When they took away his freedom to do the ending like he wanted, he fucked it up and bless him that he didn't destroyed Taka. Look at naruto, he looks like shit, his life is shit, he wasn't even attending his hokage ceremony. Does that make kishi a bad writer? No, because it was done on purpose!! He hates his own ending and that's why he didn't gave people what the wanted. Look at sasuke. He looks like shit. Is this how anybody expected sasuke to look? Or naruto? I always imagined naruto as some minato looking hot dude as an adult. I expect sasuke to become more hotter than he's now. But they worse. Because kishimoto didn't gave ss and nh what they wanted. Look at gaiden. A masterpiece. It's not badly written at all.. He destroyed ss completely, showed how dysfunctional they are. He still let Naruto call Sakura -> Sakura chan!. He fucking killed NH with that... Why would a married adult man call a woman, at this point not even a friend anymore with the suffix of "chan"?

He showed us a glimpse of Taka and they look HOT. They look mature unlike those of Konoha.

Look at sakura. A miserable piece of shit. Look at Hinata. They both life without their "husbands" cuz they don't want them. The ending seems more like an infinite tsukuyomi of these two than an actual ending.

It's good Kishi didn't showed Taka and didn't brought them back again. He knew, whatever he shows will not be allowed by SJ. Taka were Sasukes real friends. Do you think karin moves on that easily? Jugo let sasuke go away like that? Suigetsu going back to orochimaru?

I love Taka but I rather not see them in that bad light like Konoha.

If he really hated Taka then they would never play a role in gaiden which means he really liked them. Gaiden proofed 2 things. Bonds are more important than blood relation which makes Salad

a) Karins child or

b) a clone.

nothing in between.. and sasuke giving zero fucks about salad makes me thing it's b but Karin caring about salad makes me think it's a.. why would a stranger woman take care of a strangers child who is supposedly the child of the love of your life? Which normal woman would do that??

People really never understood Karin and her character and how kishi used her to show us how fucked up their lives are.

And people shipping Karin with Suigetsu are probably ss tards who really think with that they get away from Karin. Karin will always be part of their dysfunctional shitshow.

SS is a shitshow and Kishimoto knows it. That's why he makes so much fun of it. Gaiden also proofed something else, that Sasuke fucked Karin back when they were in the hideout. And he used Suigetsu for that. that Suigetsu who already hinted that back then when hebi was created. Kishimoto laughs about ss. He destroyed them completely. SS is a shitshow for shitty people.

how I imagined sasuke and naruto as adults since I was a child and not those ugly mfs we got.. I mean it's not an ending I accept so to me it never happend.

I am really sad that Team Taka (minus Sasuke) didn't get cool new official blank period outfits like the other characters. Especially since most characters looked the best then. Especially the hair!

so. it’s finally time to talk about [my] nano.

i’ve kept my nano project pretty under wraps so far, mostly because it’s been out of my hands. i wasn’t actually planning on doing a for real for real nano; instead, i thought i would dedicate some time to my fanfic (spoiler alert, but i haven’t yet) or work on finishing up revising fairbone (spoiler alert: i did revise one chapter, but i still have like half of it left to go and a nov 30 deadline...rip). if that didn’t work, i thought i would pick a wip i started over the summer or one i had half developed (let’s just say the ideas note i have really boomed over the summer and like...yeah). in conclusion, there were many wips ready for me to work on them, including ash heart, which i really want to write but haven’t figured out how to.

instead i started a new wip.

well, it’s not necessarily new, persay. it’s an idea i’ve had stewing since like late september/early october and planned out a good portion of. however, deciding to start it was a last minute decision - and by last decision, i mean that on october 31st i finished developing the barebones of character development and basic plot lol and then gave it a go. it’s honestly been going crazy well. as of today (november 9th), i just hit 21.2k words. i’m hopeful about this year, while also not wanting to jinx stuff, but like...wow. but writing is has made me realize that, wow, this book is going to be crazy long probably...like i’m 21k words in and we’re still like in the exposition idk what’s going on. but hey, i finished planning out the rest of the basic plot for it today!!!

right. onto the wip details.

honestly, the only reason i haven’t introduced this wip is because a) i want actual stuff done on it and like a proven commitment, because i feel like too often i introduce wips i don’t actually go anywhere with and i hate it, b) i don’t have a set title and c) i actually have no idea how to summarize this.

the novel i’m working on right now is the first of a projected trilogy. i say projected because i have a vague idea that it belongs to a trilogy, but like not a lot of plot except some vaguely connected ideas that should happen in the future. in it, i used a lot of characters from these violent ends, which i tried to write for camp april 2020, but like just their basic barebones; i changed a lot to fit the story, of course. 

not to sound nerdy, but it is like....harry potter inspired, but ONLY in the magical boarding school sense. of course, right now all i have is magical boarding school shenanigans, which i don’t really like because i feel like it unfairly sets the book up as like fun magical stuff when it’s really about murder & politics & student activism (+ a lot of other things ending in -ism). the whole activism part came from watching the trial of the chicago 7 and i was like, bingo, this is what this story needs. 

kay but ANYWAYS. onto the story. like i said, i can’t really summarize it, but there are lots of themes of classism, feminism, the affect on youth and youth’s effect, manipulative adults, revolution, terrorism, sibling dynamics and found family vibes, like all that stuff...packaged into a magical boarding school off the coast of maine setting...recipe for disaster!

mainly i’ve been writing in ophelia’s pov, because she’s my main girl and she’s problematic, but also she’s trying her best and just having a little difficulty fitting in. some other main characters are her twin brother, sebastian, and two other boys, asriel and vincent, who have an initially animistic relationship with ophelia (& kind of each other?) but it’s like enemies to friends (to lovers?).

anyways. here are some carefully curated excerpts below the cut:

i. vincent and asriel meet on a train (ch. 1)

The boy pursed his lips together. “It’s unusual,” he said, finally. “That’s all.” But he was looking at Vincent as if he was noticing him, which meant he was lying, or at least withholding the truth about something. He added, “You’re not from around here, are you?”

“Do you mean geographically?” Vincent replied, raising an eyebrow. “Because I’m from New York.”

A small glimmer of a smile appeared on the boy’s lips, though it vanished as quickly as it had come. “From the Magical World,” he clarified. 

“What gives it away?” Vincent asked sarcastically, waving a hand across his body. “My impeccable taste?”

“Among other things,” the boy said.

ii. sebastian and ophelia discuss grief on a ferry (ch.2 )

“You and mom talked?” Ophelia asked, surprised. She hadn’t exactly been keeping track of them, but she was sure she and Sebastian had spent much of the day together, as they were wont to do.

Sebastian looked at the floor. “Yeah,” he answered, hoarsely. “At least she wants to talk about Des. Dad doesn’t, and neither do you.”

Ophelia sighed, wondering why, today of all days, her sister was haunting them. Maybe it was because there should have been three people heading to Rijevduct, instead of two. Maybe Mother Magic was reminded of the loss of one of her own. 

“I’ve let her go,” she said. “You should too. We have too much of our lives ahead of us to mourn Desdemona forever.”

“I don’t mourn,” Sebastian said, words uncharacteristically sharp. “But I do grieve.”

“Isn’t that basically the same thing,” Ophelia mumbled, closing her eyes and feeling the press of a headache behind them. 

“Sorrow,” Sebastian said, the word a soft shudder. “And sad endings.”

“What?” 

“That’s what makes a good tragedy,” Sebastian answered. “I read it in a book.”

iii. headmistress alexeyev gives a speech (ch. 2)

“Eight years ago, seventy two students were slaughtered here. Some died on the very spot where you now stand today.” Ophelia glanced down at the floor, seeing the motion repeated instinctively around her as well. She looked over at Sebastian, who had closed his eyes instead, a pale flush meeting the faint color in his cheeks. His throat bobbed as he swallowed, tennis shoes scraping against stone as he toed them against the floor, as if he was shaking something only visible to him off.

“It was a tragedy,” Headmistress Alexeyev continued. “I say this because it is the truth. It was a tragedy, and not one that should never have happened.” She inhaled; Ophelia saw her chest rise, shoulders with it, in a sharp motion before she exhaled, body rearranging itself into poise once more. “I speak of this to tell you to assure you that Rijevduct is safe. I know there have been continuous doubts over the security of this school since that day eight years ago. I cannot, of course, guarantee that you will not come to any harm here. I cannot tell you that Rijevduct is the safe haven you were taught it was growing up; events have already proved that it is, in fact, not as impenetrable as one might think.”

Ophelia frowned, confused as to the line of reasoning. She had thought the whole point of the year of transition was to make sure that Rijevduct was infinitely more safer than it had been—and they had all been under the assumption that Rijevduct was virtually impenetrable until the massacre, which had led to the heightened security measures they saw today.

“I can, however, promise you that I, and everyone here today, will do anything in their power to keep you safe,” the Headmistress said. Next to Ophelia, Briar bowed her head, lowering her eyes and swallowing, the action almost a convulsion of her throat and mouth. Ophelia brushed her hand, lightly, in question, and the other girl just shook her head, looking away purposefully, so that Ophelia lost sight of her face and her sad eyes.

“These next three years will be far from easy. Gone are the sheltered lives where your parents could kiss your injuries goodbye, or sing you to sleep at night. Rijevduct is far from the cold, real world, but it is close enough when it comes to not asking you what you want first. This is an adjustment period. This is learning how to survive—and I will tell you this; surviving means many different things to many different people. You will have to decide on your own what this will mean for you, and how you will apply what you are taught here to your futures. Be wise. Be proud. Be humble. Cry. Laugh. Live. As your Headmistress, I, along with your professors, will be here throughout your time.” She raised her glass, “To the worthy,” and then drank, turning and walking back to her seat, which she lowered herself into gracefully.

iv. sebastian pov! (ch. 3)

There was a dead girl in Sebastian’s first period Magical Theory class. She was sitting diagonal from him, on the Glass side of the classroom, in an empty chair, staring straight ahead at the chalkboard. Sebastian tried not to look at her too obviously, his eyes straying from the open book in front of him to her cautiously, beneath the sleeve of his sweater.

She was sitting blankly in the chair, scraping her shoes against the ground, though they could not leave any scuff marks. Though she was the same faded shades most girls were, Sebastian could make out her pleated pale blue plaid skirt, which brushed around her knees, and the stained white blouse that might have once been spotless, but had been marred forever by the circumstances surrounding her death—objectively, that was to say, with blood. Her dark brown hair fell into loose curls around her shoulders, little silver studs glinting dimly, unable to catch the light. Her knee high socks now pooled around her calves and ankles, revealing a rotting bandaid on one of her knees. One of her tennis shoes was peeling at the toes, looking as if it had been ripped apart. 

Her fingernails had all been pulled off. Sebastian was good at analyzing ghosts by this point; he recognized the bloody flesh and bone of the nail bed. There was also blood matted across her head, trickling down her temple, with bruises covering her body; they peeked out from beneath the collar of her shirt, blackened across her cheekbones with a sunken quality in particular to one of her cheeks, as if the bone had begun to cave.

Subjectively, she was far from one of the worst that Sebastian had seen.

Were both having lunch, it was their anniversary, Yeonjun was so happy about this date, he planned it for a long time, but things didn't always go the way one planned.  One ss discovered Yeonjun, she was taking pictures of him without his consent, he didn't try to resist because he wanted to be nice to the situation.

But you will not accept this again, you were so angry that the ss does not allow you to have a normal date with him.

So you got up and went directly to the girl, you were standing with your boyfriend, teaching the ss that she will not have to be in your life or she will have serious problems with the police since you had a lot of evidence of harassment.

Yeonjun was in shock, he didn't know what to do, so you touched his hair to calm him down.

"Oh honey, you shouldn't have done that, you know I don't have a problem with that," he said gently.

Then you explained to him that this type of situation hurts you too and that you were already fed up.

"Sorry I didn't imagine this situation hurt you too, I'll always make sure you don't feel bad too."  He hugged you and kissed your forehead.  While his eyes were shining from seeing in front of him his new savior and his only one.

We know that Soobin is someone calm and introverted, but not incapable of defending himself.  One day when Bin was doing a Live with you, he realized that they were people commenting some things out of place about him;  He looked a bit painful, sometimes he didn't say what he thought so as not to create problems for both.  But you were already sick of seeing people say silly things.

"Soobin looks ugly, his nose looks bad" you read aloud with a mocking voice.  "You don't know that he's been featured in major magazines? He's so perfect just the way he is. You sure have so many insecurities about yourself and that's why you complain about everything."  You said for certain, but inside you were anxious about doing something you shouldn't have.

Soobin quickly said goodbye to the spectators to cut the live.

"I don't know how they will react, but that doesn't matter to me, I'm grateful to you honey, thanks for standing up for me."  He hugged you tightly, you started to rub his back, both were safe places for us.

The Villainess Needs A Tyrant/The Villainess Needs Her Tyrant - I feel like this is a slightly more coherent version of The Villainess Becomes the Leading Lady or like My Fiance is In Love With My Little Sister but slightly less tragic. Great art and I like that she knows her bae is a tyrant but likes that about him lmao. Great art but the hairlines are sus. On Tapas and translated by SS and LS.

The Wolf The Picked Something Up - started as animals and now its humans and cute. one of the few chinese comics I read. The translator is being a bit annoying atm but whatever sis. Good art and nice short stories that are funny and heartwarming. I feel healed by this. Not licensed to my knowledge. Translated by GW

Under The Oak Tree - this is so good. like bitch. Its so good. A little problematic at the start but now....these baes. On Manta, no fan translations.

Recording Hall/Viridescent Crown/The Viridescent Tiara - I like this one quite a bit. Some shy away because the assumed incest [when something like Lady Devil exists which is literally twincest but I digress] but the art is nice and the plot is pretty tight. I think this is the best done 'Author transmigrated into her own work' type story in the genre. Fantranslated by SS and on Tapas officially

What It Means To Be You - yo....yo....if you are sensitive to abuse and suicide....don't read this. Just don't. Save yourself. If you aren't - this is a good read. Winter is an exercise in frustration and why are you so stupid but as a veteran of the yaoi genre, he's no worse than say Eri Yuki in Gravitation or Usagi in Junjou Romantica. This is setting the bar subterranean but at the very least, Winter isn't a rapist [yaoi keeps the bar low and grabs a shovel to start digging. Kids these days know nothing about the predecessors to dokuyuusei and yuri on ice. Everything was rape back then and that was all we had] This is MTL by some shitty group but is on Tapas.

Olympic predictions

Warning: I've only been following figure skating since 2020 grand Prix. I'm not the most knowledgeable on the technical side (or the pcs) but I do try to listen to podcasts and commentators who actually know what they are speaking about. So this is my opinion. Don't go to a betting house with this predictions.

If you think I'm delusional I will inform you that I cheered for Rafa Nadal for 5 hours last sunday, he won but the important point here is that I stick with my choices even when it doesn't seem logical. I'm aware I'm delusional 2. We can give Nathan silver as long as he doesn't flunk like he did in the previous Olympics. Unlike t/m I think he has overcome what happened last time and will do some great skates 3. Between the two, whoever skates cleanest. That's it. Shoma can be great but he has been a bit inconsistent and doesn't have stable triples which affects his base value....

Also, at this point I can see Mark continuing his rocket trajectory and wining bronze. It wouldn't be the weirdest thing AND he is one of the few male skaters who's short program I like (even if the costume is ugly imo)

Lysitheas mentality is very much about doing the best with the time she has and not letting herself be limited by her traumatic experience despite the toll it took on her health. All she wants is to provide for her parents and she never once blames the Church for what happened to her in canon. Captain is just butchering every single character and uses their corpses as mouthpieces for his headcanons. I dont understand how you can manage reading this, I can barely get through you notes.

A lot of the times I don't even really like calling them headcanons really - that implies that it can be congruent with the canon work. So often we see ideas Cap'n spits out that flat out go against canon, so at the most generous they'd be parts of an AU more than they'd be headcanons.

Like, for example, Byleth losing their humanity in SS is flat out wrong. Period. That is explicitly not what happens in that route. They're worried about Rhea and are happy to find her alive - from just that alone, that's not how someone "without humanity" behaves. Cap'n saying that that is what happens to Byleth, even as a headcanon, would be wrong, since the idea is actively shot down by canon. Same as Byleth "neutrally drifting" to the Church's side being the reason why they side with them and not Edelgard. Again, that's not what happens - just because the default for the player is SS doesn't mean that it's not Byleth as a character deciding to stand against Edelgard and side with Rhea. This one at least has the problem of "is Byleth an avatar or a character" muddying the waters, but hell, even with that mud, when you have the choice, you can still actively choose SS. The headcanon is still wrong.

Like... it's like saying "Sylvain was never really abused by Miklan, he's just lying about Miklan to make himself look like a victim to manipulate people," as an off-the-cuff example of something similar to get my point across. That's how incorrect some of these "headcanons" of Cap'n's are. It's flat out wrong and only serves to severely mischaracterize a character for XYZ reason. It doesn't even qualify as a headcanon - it's just mindless character bashing.

Reading through it is... something lmao. Not even just the mischaracterization, but like. The fic itself is just of such low quality, on as objective a level as writing is allowed.

Below the cut since it got long lmao

The prose is just so much to read through - the majority of it is just Edelgard feeling sadge about how horrible her life is and how everyone hates her and how she's so ugly and how she's so lonely, but there’s rarely anything of real substance. Her thoughts are rarely about her actually doing anything, and the rare times that they are ("I'm gonna help Jeralt, and this is how I'll do it") they rarely amount to her actually doing something (she doesn't actually do much to save Jeralt). It goes around in circles without there being much actual progression in any regard, repeating information that reader already knew and has known for a while.

Her actions are acknowledged as something that she knowingly and willfully chose to do, until they make her too mean, and then she was "outmaneuvered" and she "didn't know what TWS were doing." Then the fic pretends that it didn't sweep Edelgard's agency out the door and that Edelgard totally grew as a person, even though she tossed all accountability in the trash and proved that she has improved 0% as a character. It never has Edelgard take a step back and realize "huh, wait, maybe I wasn't betrayed by my friends, maybe I wasn't left behind and maybe I left my friends behind through my actions" - it's just a half-hearted "I'll do better!" without actually doing better (she stopped using Demonic Beasts - in this fic - but she's still working with TWS, which is the core problem but is something she just handwaves away). Same with Kronya - she's willfully mean, she's actively despicable, until those actions make her too mean, then she "didn't know what she was doing was even wrong," she's "almost an innocent."

Epithets. Ohhhh my god, the epithets. Cap'n wants to make a distinct difference between Edelgard being the Flame Emperor and Edelgard being El, which ey, neat idea! Playing around with identity is interesting! But not when you can't be consistent - that's when things get needlessly convoluted and annoying. Flame Emperor = Edelgard doing bad meanie mean stuff - except she calls herself that casually all the time. El is slightly more consistent (more innocent, nicer, etc.), but then you have Edelgard referring to herself as a "girl" - that thing that El is, not Edelgard - constantly. Flame Emperor is a shell of dogma and ideologies that protects the inner core of Edelgard, which is... El. And Edelgard. But Edelgard and El are two separate identities. Until they aren't. And then the Flame Emperor is just another epithet referring to Edelgard, not a shell. Until it is again. And then the question "wait, so is Edelgard both El and the Flame Emperor, similar to how Dimitri is both a "boar" and a prince? Is Edelgard still El deep down, and the Flame Emperor nothing of Edelgard's true self? Is Edelgard a separate, third identity with her own characteristics that differ from El or the Flame Emperor? What exactly is going on?” Like, this image I showed my sis sums up why this is so confusing:

Back to back, the Flame Emperor is used as a shell hiding the true Edelgard (as in, not the true Edelgard, but a tool she is using to hide her true self) and also just another way to refer to Edelgard, the same as saying "the young woman." Not only is it poor form to use the same epithet immediately following each other, but now the Flame Emperor's role in Edelgard’s identity is unclear.

This isn't even getting into how confusing it can be to a reader to constantly use epithets, even without the identity crisis angle Cap'n wants to go down, especially constantly using different epithets for one person. Waaay back when I first took a peak at Chapter 52 when that was the most recent chapter, the passages I looked at had Edelgard and Hanneman speak with each other. Edelgard was called the Emperor of Adrestia and the Flame Emperor. Hanneman is called the man, the scholar, and the academic. In snippets of one scene. With two people in it. And there are five different epithets between them. And they're used a good bit too. I've legit never came across something that uses so many epithets to refer to the same person - because remember, this is just one scene. That chapter as a whole, skimming through it, also has Edelgard be called Emperor, Emperor of Adrestia, and the Flame Emperor - oh boy, just what I wanted, three different versions of calling Edelgard an emperor! Two of which are constantly said in one chapter! Because that’s not repetitive at all! And this is what happens to pretty much all of the characters - can’t just say their name or a pronoun, nope, just slap on a title for that person. You have to keep track of every single epithet that applies to every single character, and every single character has so many epithets.

Character arcs are dropped immediately upon arrival all the time, or aren't focused on at all. Ferdinand, for the former, is presented with the horrifying realization that his father - and most of the notable nobility of Adrestia - have been involved with torturing children, and he's understandably distraught by it - until he instantly gets over it after one pep talk from his romantic love interest. Ingrid, for the latter, has had her whole "but do I really wanna be a knight tho" shit brought up often enough, but it's never really been developed much at all. There's no gradual change in Ingrid's beliefs, it's just "I believe this, then you tried to kill me and now I'm considering changing my lifelong dreams to conform to what you told me after not really budging on the idea."

Not showing a lick of the SS timeline but just saying that there was totally development in and between the characters (before the post ts portions hit that timeline) that gets transferred over to the CF timeline is just lazy writing. Period. It barely even qualifies as the "tell, don't show" misstep, since it's not even the text itself that's telling the reader this, but the author himself imposing Word of God to try and justify his poor writing decisions. How are we supposed to genuinely feel invested in Edelgard and Byleth’s relationship if the actual beginning of it - the one they had in the SS timeline - is never shown? That beginning which is crucial in the reader’s understanding of why their relationship seems to speedrun past any actual development? We’re given the sequel of a story, told the first installment was very super duper mega important to how the sequel goes about its story, and then never given the first installment. We have no context, we have no buildup, we have nothing, but we’re supposed to just accept that their relationship was so good until it just wasn’t.

And speaking of - Edelgard and Byleth’s love story makes no sense. Okay, so we’ve accepted the idea that CF’s romance is going better because of a residual connection the two of them formed during the SS timeline being so strong as to withstand the forces of time. If that is the case... why did Byleth kill Edelgard? Why did she side against her? What stopped her from saying “nope, I changed my mind, I am siding with my fave student ever”? Why did she agree to be the one to kill Edelgard? Sure, with this fic’s version of Edelgard that lacks even the knowledge of what agency is, you can maybe argue the case for her not trying to fix anything with the two of them (she’d probably Sadge and then do nothing to help herself, as she has been doing the entire fic), but what’s Byleth’s justification? Why’d she just go along with killing her lover? Why didn’t she just... not? Do that? Again, we just have to accept that Edelgard and Byleth were “unfairly torn apart by fate” when everything points to the two of them as individuals not caring enough about their relationship to try and amend anything. And remember, this is the critical component of this fic. Edelgard and Byleth’s love story is arguably the most important thing about this fic, being connected to most things Edelgard and Byleth do in the story, but their “love story” is flimsy, needlessly complicated, weak, and, for the most important parts of it, entirely hidden from the reader. This is the crux of the fic’s emotional investment, and yet we’re never given anything solid to anchor said emotional investment with.

These are the actual writing writing flaws - as in, even as its own separate work, the fic fails - I can think of the fic commits at the moment, when ignoring all the problematic aspects within the fic that I’ve talked about before. TEatG is an interesting read partially because there’s just so much wrong with it, both as a fanfiction of a media and as its own literary work. It really is like Twilight, in that something this objectively bad managed to become so popular and influential, (though obviously, this fic doesn’t have as wide an influence as Twilight, but the idea’s the same). So in that regard, it’s neat to look at the fic and point out exactly what is wrong with it. As much as this fic is grating it’s been a ride as well lmao

I just saw someone shipping InoSaku while shitting on SNS, which I find hilarious, considering InoSaku is just a bootleg SNS with way less development and Sakura being overall very terrible and dismissive to Ino. OP was also saying Sakura and Ino were apparently queer coded (😂😂) and had an amazing queer dynamic (lol) but Kishimoto didn't make it canon because he or/and the fanbase is homophobe. They may be right about the fanbase being homophobic, but like... InoSaku had no interactions in Shippuden (except for when Sakura wanted Sai to call Ino ugly)??? They barely interacted in part 1 too. And they are both so painfully straight it hurts to see it. InoSaku will literally watch some fillers, use some shitty novels and argue that it should've been canon lol, while having the guts to shit on SNS, that has way more canonical development. WTF.

People can ship what they want and I used to not care about this ship but since half of their fandom rides on sns and acts like they are the same because of the rival tropes (that aren't exclusive to these two relationships) and the other half bashes sns while acting their ship is "better" I have started to dislike it a lot. Ino also deserves to be in a ship that's not one-sided on her part. Sorry for upcoming long post.

Since I focus on canon (manga) their first interaction is in the chunin exams. It's about Sasuke of course and establishes their main conflict.

Their next interactions are Ino stepping in to save Sakura in the Forest of Death, which is a nice friendship moment. It's not romantically coded whatsoever, Ino is hesitating but realizes she can’t let someone she cares about die even if she feels she’s possibly not strong enough to beat the sound trio. Then we get a flashback on how Sakura ended their friendship over Sasuke, because they liked the same boy.

But then, they go back to the Sasuke rivalry.

Then we get to the match which has the most “moments” between the two of them, and includes a longer flashback of their childhood friendship. After this they barely interact and Sakura’s entire character revolves around men as well as Ino’s.

Sidenote, but Kakashi again showing how he doesn’t know Sakura at all. She has shown to be cruel multiple times, she literally bullied Naruto. But this is the guy who spends his time reading porn and thought pushing SS was a good idea.

Rivalry. But it lacks the depth and complexity of Naruto and Sasuke’s bond, and most of all it lacks the longing and the passion. It revolves around a boy. Naruto and Sasuke have the entire manga, while Ino and Sakura have even less interaction than Naruto and Hinata but sure they were "queercoded". Their entire relationship revolves around Sasuke unlike with Naruto and Sasuke, where Sakura is a third-wheel. I have also seen people compare this ribbon to Sasuke’s headband and I find it insulting to be honest. Valley of the End is longer by itself than all of Ino and Sakura’s interactions and it’s so complicated and heart-wrenching, while this is ultimately about Sakura’s insecurities and petty rivalry over a boy.

Even after their most important moment, all of the tiny moments they get are about Sasuke and how Sakura is thinking about Sasuke. Since when do lesbians think about men when they’re with their crush?

And you’re right, their only moment in part 2 is Sakura wanting Sai to call Ino ugly.

Seriously, look at these girls, they are genuinely attracted to Sasuke.

My hope is that if D does end up at Trevor, it'll be handled similar to Spirit Day. He can go, take pics, but no have to give interviews where he's forced to lie. And even though M was there, he didn't have to take RC pics with her & her presence wasn't really publicized. His tweets after were even appropriate and as authentic as he can be in his situation. That being said, I never expect anything less than complete sabotage when D's team is involved. But I'm hoping for the best anyway.

Anon, I am not going to lie, I really, really hope he does not attend. BUT as our fav news site/d’s shitty team said they would be looking out for him, I have to assume that he will attend.  Plus i know SS does the PR (only reason he got out of it last year was DEH). 

And you and I both know if D is going, she will be tethered to his side. We certainly would not want to rock the boat and have people questioning whether there is an issue prior to the big bar opening.  

So I am going to 100% concur with your hopes and wishes.  We all know the last trevor live was ugly (at the time I was much less aware but i have reason to suspect his  interview was caused by a lot of periphery things going on that I can’t discuss as I cannot verify it, but something that the pics have lead me to believe).

I really hope for him that they just avoid interviews or if there is an interview, i hope the questions are pointed and do not steer into uncomfortable territory. And i hope beyond hope she will remain off the RC (but sadly you and i also know even when uninvited she often appears, DEH is in fact a perfect example of that happening).  Because the last place a beard needs to be is on a RC where the theme is LGBT+ youth and that you are not alone and it gets better.
