just realising that so much about me can be explained by the fact that my answer to 'what's the best gift you've ever been given' is

Dremel 4000

#guess who used the cat food containment shield they made by cutting the sides out of an ikea storage container with said dremel #as a spark/debris containment shield while cutting off screw heads #from the wrist of a articulated hand mannequin that will become a bathroom hand towel holder #with a heavy duty cut off wheel and smoothed down the cut edges with an aluminium oxide grinding stone attached to my dremel at 35K rpms ba #SPARKS A FLYING YEEAAAAHHH!!!#i was very safe #gloves apron protective gear and aforementioned containment shield #but i was having a lot of fun

i feel like a lot of the 'i hate kids' crowd would be more tolerant if they understood that due to a kid's limited experience of the world that 4 hour flight might just be the longest they've ever had to sit still for or that trapped finger might literally be the most pain they've ever felt in their short life or they might not have ever seen a person with pink hair ever so of course they want to touch it or nobody's told them yet that they can't run around the museum and they only just learned cheetahs are the fastest animals so of course they want to put that to the test. how were they supposed to know etc etc.

#like majority of the time kids are not just 'being naughty'. they have big feelings inside little bodies it's a lot #also like.#it should be illegal to dye your hair fun colours if you aren't prepared for kids in public to ask if youre related to a my little pony #EDIT: the notes on this post are an absolute cesspool. i don't care about your reasons for hating kids you sound like a disney villain

I finally took the time to photograph my vintage dip pen nib collection, and I need to share with you all how wonderful and diverse their designs are.

These two are my favorite. Just look at them! One of them is named Gorille and the other Mephisto, but to me they're little pumpkins.

And of course you gotta love the Pinocchio nib. You get to write with the nose of a tiny guy! Just not something you get to do anymore.

#I collect them because they come in fun shapes but they're also incredibly nice to use #all the ones I own write impressively smoothly #even the most flexible and fine pointed nibs #I have a ton of modern nibs as well (like a lot) and smoothness plus flexibility is not a common trait combo #good object #dip pens
