RPG where the main quest will helpfully refuse to progress beyond any relevant points no return if you have any open side quests, thereby preventing you from failing side quests via accidental plot progression, except that side quests are numerous, very easy to accept by accident, and can't be abandoned once started. In some cases, the steps to avoid starting a particular side quest may be more time-consuming than just doing the quest; this is intentional.

what ppl defending kids on ipads don’t seem to understand is that there are other ways to keep kids occupied. my mom had a whole bag full of little toys and games for me to play with while waiting in lines at disney world. once your kid is like 7 or 8 they can read a book. they can color. or they can literally just sit there and imagine things. i did that a lot as a kid.

I still think the most devastating enshittification I've ever seen has been picrew. One of the few dress-up game websites left that's not flash-based and it's become DRENCHED in ads. You can't open the home screen without being blasted by at least three or four ads. You can't open two picrews in a row without watching a video ad first. When you have a picrew open the ads cover up the different options and sometimes even stack on each other so you have to hit like 2 or 3 different x buttons to get it to go away, only for more to appear seconds later.
