Hi bb!!! How are you!?? I hope you're having a good day and resting between uniš„¹
I had this question(four actually) I wanted to ask cause I just remembered it and I don't wanna forget it(them lol)
Sooo the first one isss at the time of mma 2019 when ateez performed blood sweat and tears, was it known to the fans that hima was yoongi's adoptive sister cause I would love to see the reactions of the bts memberss to their amazing stagešš
Second one isss have ateez met bts personally, as in talked to them or sat with themš espically knowing how close hima is with the bts member as they are like her older brothers
Third onee isss has hima ever appeared on suchwita and if so did any of her members go with her or did she go solo, plus was she their for the same reason as jungkook(to eat lolšš) or did she go to promote their album(by my calculations I'm guessing it's golden hour since they always record the episodes before the albums are released) , and did they bring up any childhood memories they had of themselves
Fourthhh and last onee issss did hima visit jin after he was out of the military and did she by any chance film any thing with him(run jin, dance challenge, etc...)š„±
Please bb take care of yourself for meee stay healthy and hydrated and remember to always rest even when uni's annoying okay??? Or I'll scold youš«µš„š„
OMG MY SWEET I MISSED YOU!! š„°I actually recently started working so I'm a little tired but otherwise resting whenever I can don't you worry!
ā¢ People found out around November 2019 that the two are related (someone leaked medical information since Hima asked Yoongi not to say anything as she didn't want her debut to be attributed to their relationship) so the news was fresh during the MAMA awards! She had some partner work with Wooyoung and San during their 'Blood, Sweat and Tears' segment which Jungkook and Jimin were so happy about but Yoongi looked about ready to kill them both. RM was shocked during Wonderland because since when did she become part of the demon line, the 11 year old who couldn't even get angry ?? J-Hope was cheering the entire time...maybe even a little teary eyed too but he'll never admit it. Taehyung was so happy to see her on stage after seeing her go through exhausting training for so long and was holding his phone up with 'our tiger cub' flashing across the screen. When came her part of 'Good-bye Baby' Jin made the most dramatic shocked face. Since both groups were sitting relatively close to each other (I think ATEEZ were in front of them ?) she hugged her brother right after getting off stage and J-Hope gave her a kiss on the forehead
ā¢ ATEEZ have definitely eaten with BTS more than a few times which at first was very awkward, the first few times would have them crumpled in their chairs unsure of what to say to their seniors while Hima was being her usual bubbly self. They were kind of surprised since she never really talked about any member other than her brother and they were under the impression that she was simply acquainted with the others. Her, Jimin, Seonghwa and Yeosang even went shopping together at some point (FYI him, J-Hope and Taehyung have gotten in trouble with gossip columns because they spoil her too much and 'reporters' thought that they were buying clothes for their girlfriends...no it's just their friend's sister who they were told not to coddle too much even tho her own brother would buy her a whole country. When fans asked about these incidents - at different times - they just ended up sending pictures of Hima in the clothes on Weverse)
ā¢ Hima actually made three appearances on the show; J-Hope brought her along during episode 12, Taemin insisted she come with him in episode 20 (since she was the main producer of 'Guilty') and episode 28 was to promote Golden Hour. The siblings talked about a few memories; playing basketball together, her visiting his studio when BTS had just made their debut, the first time she came to one of their concerts, etc. They did several dance challenges together, sang a few songs (by 'a few' I mean almost 20 minute worth that the editors had to strategically cut), talked about their respective long term injuries briefly, discussed the production process of the album, and Hima fell asleep on camera after one too many drinks
ā¢ A few days after his service ended she went to get something from her brother's studio and they accidentally ran into each other, which led to a very long scolding about how it was rude that she didn't come to see him earlier. They didn't get to spend much time together due to the comeback schedules followed by their North America tour, but he secretly came to one of their fansigns (he came backstage to not draw attention to himself). On Chuseok she came to his house with homemade food, giving both a chance to reconnect with each other after a long time apart. He knows she's been busy lately with personal projects, group schedules and the filming of 'Road to Kingdom' so he hasn't asked her to be in 'Run Jin' yet because she would likely accept even if it meant overexerting herself
(For relationship references she's best friends with Jungkook, slightly more distant from Taehyung since the age difference makes it a little hard to connect (but they still love each other), very close to Jimin because of their personalities, RM and her tend to connect over books that he recommends and go to bookstores together often, J-Hope is almost an older brother to her and Jin is more like an uncle)
Don't worry I'll keep taking good care of myself and you do as well okay ?? No scolding necessary here š¤§Love you Mina, as always thank you so much for your questions!! ā¤ļø

Hi. Not the same anon but the mental health talk with this album has been bothering me or annoying honestly. Like I have some problems with the whole being trapped in a mental asylum imagery too but idk. I don't mind her singing about it cuz we know she struggled in the past. I think my problem with it is everyone's saying how sad this album is yet I'm not feeling any actual emotion about it or what she went through except in some songs..So Long London, The Black Dog I guess. But like it's more in the manic non serious way than I'm actually depressed and wanna die..that I guess I can't really relate to..idk. something like ill crash on the rocks which is kinda dark but it's more in a desperate way I just don't believe really..instead of like This is Me Trying, Hoax or Evermore. I know I can Do it with a Broken Heart is supposed to be more upbeat and jokey I guess and we've all been there so it's fine. But I just wish she had one song that actually explained how bad it was for her and her feelings, similar to Evermore. I'm biased cuz that's one of my favorite songs but still. Also the way she talks about Joes issues..like sometimes it is hard being with someone like that, and I guess she couldn't handle it anymore but she excuses it away by saying she was bored. It makes me feel kinda bad about myself sometimes cuz she would find me so boring and my entire life a waste lol. Also like even if you do work on it, it's mostly still there and even if she did leave, it wouldn't fix all of the issues either..so she didn't love him enough to stay or he didn't love her enough. Like my mom makes my mental health worse at times and maybe it would be a little better if I left, but it wouldn't get rid of it completely either. But literally in the album in the Alchemy, she has the lyric the hospital was a drag and she's out of it now.. because she met Travis and now she's completely fine. She doesn't owe us anything or to talk about it of course but idk why she erased it from her life like in the Time article or blamed some of it on Joe. But I'm glad at least that she didn't pretend that they weren't in love for all that time either. I'm glad she's happy now but I have to remind myself it's okay I'm not as healed as Taylor. Even in the worst time of her life, she had someone falling in love with her lol and now it happened for her again and that was never my experience at all so I need to stop trying to relate to her anymore or compare myself to her I guess. I still mostly like the album though. Sorry idk why I typed all this and I'm really nervous sending this ask. I hope it's okay.
First of all, it's a brave thing to share your experience so please don't feel nervous about it, this was a very insightful read (and it's absolutely okay btw!! Thank you for trusting me) and I completely agree with you, at first I thought it's because I haven't played the album in full or just sat with it enough to fully absorb it but it's been a week and I definitely don't think it's her saddest or most harrowing work so far. A lot of times it seems as if she's dangling a dark lyric for shock value and then immediately switching it up with a follow up that's not entirely relevant to the line. Even though a lot of people insist that context is important, some lines still rub me off as insensitive, and despite it (probably) not being her intention the locked up in an asylum imagery comes off as not much more than an aesthetic to me, at the very least. She was much more vulnerable and meaningful in evermore, and I can't help but feel a little cautious of the work she puts out post renegade because it has disillusioned me from my previous perception of her work.
#you ask for the tab*#I actually get a little upset every time I think of renegade. Same with some parts of so long London despite my loving the song

I really hope this won't come across as a way to compare different kinds of illnesses and struggles cause it's not, it's just stuff I thought about while listening to the great impersonator that I needed to share. at the end of the day, I'm just a mentally ill bitch lol
i still need time to process this record well enough to be able to fully put into words the amount of things that im feeling, but this whole thing about this album is bringing back things. so im sorry if this is going to be sort of a trauma dump.
in february one of my best friends lost her mother to cancer, and even tho it's not my trauma and my loss to claim it hit harder than i expected (and yes, i do feel like shit for expecting it to hit less). my friend and i grew up basically as one, we've been together since we were three years old, we spent so many afternoons in her room playing with her mum. i knew that woman too well to act like it didn't hurt me as well, but im not going to pretend it's my loss to grieve. she had a family i need to stay closer than ever now.
all of this was to say that when she died something in my brain snapped. i had the kind of reaction that makes you go 'life is short. i can't keep wasting mine. anything could happen at any minute. i dont want to go with these many things left unsaid'. which felt insane, and also kind of bad if i have to be honest, because years ago when my father died i didn't have the clarity of mind to act the same way and i wish i did.
it lasted a few months and then i fell back into my usual mental patterns and old habits, which I'm definitely not proud of, but i really do believe that even tho i keep telling myself that i went back to therapy because i needed an ocd diagnosis and someone to help me manage it (which is something that was and still is definitely very real), i actually needed to know i was working in a direction where i could, someday, be at least well enough to be there for my friends when they need me. because i fear that, right now, I'm not. and it's not fair to them to always have to second guess if they can call me or not when they need a shoulder to lean on, especially when tragedies like that happen. i want to be able to give them my undivided attention, not to have to fight against my brain to be able to barely have the energy to listen to them.
it was weird to listen to this album and realise that I can (in my own personal way, i dont want it to sound like i know the exact same pain h experienced cause i didn't go through the same things she did) relate to both of the points of view. my chronic illness is not nearly as debilitating as what she had to go through, but in my tiny way I've been both the 'heavy heart' that's 'too much to hold' and the one that wanted to try to be there for someone else and couldn't because of my own issues. and I swear im trying so hard to not repeat the same mistakes. im far from perfect, but I'm trying to show up more for the people that i love.
I'm not the kind of person that needs to do something big with their life or to give meaning to it etc, but i do need to know that it's worth it, that the bad parts are balanced by something positive. and, right now, i still dont know how to hope for things, cause a future is still not a concept i feel comfortable in yet. if i have to be completely honest i never pictured myself getting this far, but now that I'm here i might as well try to *actually* be here, at least for the people i care about. I can't do that if i dont start seriously working on things i avoided for ten years, and grief plays a huge part in this because spoiler: no matter how much time it passes, it still hurts.
i wish 13yo me didn't shut down completely and was able to process things instead, but apparently it's a job for 23yo me. i still need to fully accept that it is ok to miss my dad now even if i didn't let myself feel it for years, but i'm getting there. i have a million questions for him and I'll never get the answers. i still have to learn how to deal with it. this record hit like a ton of bricks.
so once again, after saving my ass with both badlands and manic at the most perfect time, h art came in at the right moment. i feel like something in me changed after listening to this album, exactly in the same way i felt in february. i felt my perspective shift again, for the better. I hope it'll last.
i might not be able to stitch my brain back together as fast as I'd like to, this shit will take time. i still have to fully convince myself that i can use the word 'will' instead of 'could' because i still dont really believe I'll make it lol, but one step at a time. I'm tired as fuck, but I'm trying.
i'm just so glad that i can do it while listening to the great impersonator. i needed this record so bad, it's unbelievable how someone who doesn't even know me is always able to give me exactly what i need when i need it. I'll forever be grateful for what she did and keeps doing for me through her music. this album means so much more than I'll ever be able to express

I found my radio station's collection of old Elvis Costello and the Attractions records and I'm going to share pictures of them because there's so many cool details
First up, Goodbye Cruel World
The radio station uses these stickers to highlight recommend songs, but the DJs love to put in funny little comments as well. Usually these stickers are written on right when the album came out, so they provide a snapshot into what contemporary listeners though of the records. Apparently the DJs of the time liked Goodbye Cruel World, but what does (Don't Ya Wish He Really Meant It?) mean?
Having only seen this album cover at really low resolutions on streaming, I was surprised to discover who those indistinct figures were
Really cool art on the back of Goodbye Cruel World, once again we never get to see this stuff with streaming :/ love the blatant political message of "nuclear ban now"
Lots of weird little in-jokes in the credits to this one. Maurice Worm is one of Steve Nieve's aliases.
Really interesting radio promo copy of Spike featuring an hour-long interview, I have to check if it's been uploaded online before. It also promises "This Town (The Bastard Mix)", which might be the censored version of This Town where "bastard" was replaced with "sweetheart" that I was looking for online but couldn't find. Or maybe it's the other way around?
Recommend songs off Punch the Clock. I'm surprised because none of these are what I would consider the "big hits" of the album.
The back of Punch the Clock. I'm noticing the other Attractions often wind up on the back of these records.
Probably my favorite detail out of everything is the title of "The Invisible Man" being written to look like it's becoming invisible (It's not just faded like Boxing Day above it).
Very green Veronica single. I believe it's just the same version of Veronica on both sides. These weird radio promo vinyls are the ones I'm most excited about because they so rarely see the light of day after their release...I just realized since Paul McCartney was involved with this one I can play it on the Beatles show!
Get Happy!! without the iconic worn-out ring on the cover? I guess the vinyl can just get worn out on it's own...I believe the 7/25/83 might be the date the vinyl was acquired, or perhaps the date it was supposed to be deemed "old" and thrown out (can you imagine?)
The back features this nice art of the Attractions
The song order of side one and side two is reversed from how the album is presented in streaming. Is this an error, or have I been listening to it in the wrong order this whole time??? Also the song is apparently supposed to be called "5ive Gears in Reverse".
Really cute letter from Nick Lowe promising that the audio quality has not been compromised for the length of the album. It's so fascinating to learn about these types of technical limitations that no longer exist. Like if it released today it would just go to streaming and then probably get a double vinyl release to wring more money out of collectors.
The American "paint-splatter" Armed Forces album cover features the Elephant cover on the back. I already knew this but it was still cool to see.
This Years Model! This record features one of the alternate cover photos (probably my favorite one), and it is a genuine demo record complete with a label from Columbia.
They put the runtimes and little recommendation check boxes for the sake of the DJs, but it looks like every song got checked and stared multiple times (except for Little Triggers :/)
Glowing reviews...it's so exciting to imagine being a young DJ in 1978 hearing This Years Model for the first time and correctly calling it a masterpiece.
"Martial more consistent throughout than My Aim Is True" lol.
I can't really read the cursive, but I it's interesting how they called Pump It Up a mixture of old styles (immediately picking up on the Dylan ripoff), and I wonder what the scribbled over parts say?
The back cover, which I'm seeing now for the first time. Love that 70s bedroom.
The Only Flame In Town single has this really striking artwork of a illustrated woman in a real scene. It's dated 12/4/84.
Pump It Up version? I'll have to listen to it. Also glad someone else loves this version of Baby It's You.
Nothing interesting here I just think it's funny they decided The Only Flame In Town deserves to be on a greatest hits compilation.
A collection of Almost Blue era songs, including a note from Elvis.
That's all I was able to photograph this week, but there's still about 5 Elvis Costello /the Attractions records I haven't looked at yet, I will update this next week!

Okay I'll write in points here because it's long
It started with Freddie saying something like they are gonna stay together until they die and I thought how poignant it is in hindsight.
I loved Brian May's insights the starting was very sweet with him telling us that him and Freddie shared rooms for a decade, that he knows him really well and about how shy he was until firmly saying that he was gay even if people don't want to believe it. There was another person saying the same thing, I forgot her name but I think it's unfortunate that it's really common for people to outright ignore or deny any queer artists' identity just because they don't want to deal with whatever biases they have going.
Roger Taylor was really mad about the media/tabloids attacking Freddie and I get it especially The Sun because it's still trash today. Just vile and immoral for no reason.
Then it went to them saying that the band had a guess of what's going on with Freddie because they saw him disappear for treatments and coming back with scars but not wanting to believe it so they just never brought it and made a whole album before Freddie ultimately told them.
All the pictures with Jim Hutton were really cute I have to say and his sister saying that she was told that he was the gardener but he was around every time she went to her brother's house so she put 2+2 together lol.
The minute Anita Dobson came on screen I was trying to remember where I had seen her then I remembered it was the doctor who clips that were going viral on Twitter. But she seems so sweet and she had really cute story about how she became friends with Freddie and how he introduced her to Jim. She did say that Freddie told her when he couldn't sing anymore he'll die and that's she thinks what happened. She also seemed really sad that she lost contact with Jim I guess they were close.
Also I got more songs from this documentary so I'm really happy about that, I just googled the lyrics.
I didn't know Elton John was really close with Freddie, he seemed so heartbroken in all the videos they played of him.
Also Joe Elliot was there that was a surprise, was he friends with Freddie? I know I have heard Robert Plant talk about Freddie Mercury before. I secretly adore the idea of all these frontman that people like to pit against each other being friends in real life.
I might watch the tribute concert or atleast the George Micheal's part of it, he sounded so good and David Bowie was clapping from the sidelines during the rehearsal ( I get it, he was superb )
I feel like I got insights to the entire band' dynamic so thats nice because we have all heard Bands going like oh we like each other, we are a family but when one of you is gone and how the rest treat their memory is the true test of that.
I'll respond in bullet points lol
Brian was great in the documentary, and is one of Freddie's most consistent defenders, especially in regards to his sexuality. I love when Brian talks about knowing Freddie so well through sharing rooms and talking about his shyness, because you can just feel the fondness there and get the distinct sense that he loved Freddie the human being as opposed to the showman, which can't be said for everyone who knew Freddie
Yeah, The Sun was particularly vile, and the band really hated the press. Brian wrote the song "Scandal" in 1989 for the album, The Miracle, because the press was hounding Freddie (and Brian about his affair and divorce, but that's another story). I can't remember if this documentary mentioned it, but the fact that the press had set up a camera to see into Freddie's bathroom is just so vile
The Miracle is the album that they made before Freddie told them the truth. If you listen to the album, there are a couple songs hinting at what's going on, because as you saw, the band knew something was wrong. Fun fact: one of Brian's favorite songs that Freddie wrote is "The Miracle" because Freddie was able to write about beautiful things while he was sick
Lol yes, Kashmira knowing that Jim was Freddie's partner was funny
Yep, Anita was in Doctor Who! Her most famous role was in EastEnders in the 80s. There's another interview where she talked about an episode of that show being viewed by millions of people, and overnight people knew her face, and Freddie called her up like, "Guess who's in the paper, darling ;)" Anita was a true friend to Freddie and visited him while he was ill with Brian. Yeah, her theory that Freddie stopped fighting when he couldn't sing anymore lines up...Freddie's last song was "Mother Love"; Brian was the one who wrote it, but Freddie had to go home before it was finished because he was feeling unwell. He said he'd be back, but he never returned to the studio...And yeah, that doc revealed that Anita kept in touch with Jim to some extent. I really wonder what that relationship was like
Yes, Elton John was very close to Freddie! He still tears up when he talks about receiving a Christmas gift from Freddie a mere month after he passed...
I can't remember with the Joe Elliott thing tbh. I think he knew Freddie? I also feel like I'm remembering that he called up Brian after Freddie passed to check in on him, so maybe he was on friendly terms with the band, yeah
The doc does show how close the band was towards the end and how protective Brian and Roger are of Freddie's memory at the very least, yeah. It's really a great doc and I'm glad you watched it and got something out of it

It really bothers me that people feel like JA is floundering without Jared around to clean up or cover his messes for him. As if Jensen is unable to manage his own career or do things unless Jared is there to help him thorough it like a helpless child. I love Jared and think he is doing great post SPN but to think Jensen is only able to make good decisions if he has Jared involved is ridiculous to me. Jensen is his own person why do ppl feel the need to belittle him like he is not smart.
I mean, I'm guessing by people you mean Jared stans obsessed with the whole idea of competition between the Js. Like the hellers/AAs, neither group is happy with their fave being successful alone, the Other!J has to be actively failing to prove just how inadequate they always were compared to Fave!J. In their heads, Other!J was always just a lesser sidekick who is ridiculous for thinking they could succeed post-SPN without Fave!J to make their projects a success. Everything they've both done since SPN proves this is true!!11!!!
Jensen said a few different times there were various things he'd wanted to do while filming SPN that couldn't be fit around it and still maintain a decent work/home balance, and his approach since SPN ended seems to have largely been to take anything that crosses his radar that sounds cool. Make some albums, voice act Batman, do a western, work with Kripke/be a live action super hero, play a sheriff, do a live action version of a video game character, etc.
Of course, if Jensen is Other!J to you? Well, he can't possibly be doing a bunch of different projects because he wants to. Nope, he's broke and desperate and taking literally anything he's being offered because he has no judgement and is probably secretly having to beg for offers. Putting aside TW, which is a whole tempest in a teacup on its own, but ultimately just a CW-typical YA fantasy drama on a network that no longer wants to be the CW?
When there's really nothing controversial, they go with shit like: The Boys is a terrible show and Jensen was both awful in it and had a blink and you'll miss it role anyway! Actors doing albums is always a pathetic joke, enough said. He only did animated Batman because no one would hire him for the real thing and he's only pretending to like superheroes now after never mentioning it before (lol), and superheroes are a stupid tired trend that is so over.
When there are questionable aspects to something, they're more than happy to bolster any controversy they'd dismiss and/or mock if it were Fave!J: Didn't you hear how Big Sky is misogynist for its first season centering on women being abducted and racist for not making those misogynist abductions Indigenous women because it's filmed in an area where a disproportionate number of abductions have occurred within that population, so it should be about that instead of the novel the show was already being loosely based on?! Obviously there were problems on the set of Baldwin's western, anyone should have known when they were looking for a replacement actor that late something awful was going on and never taken that job (and that's about the least shitty thing said on that one). Why didn't Jensen do in depth research into a game company before agreeing to do a trailer to make sure a random FPS game in a bog standard sci fi setting wasn't controversial? He's just so dumb/careless/desperate and actually a terrible person that he would take such awful, awful projects!
See? See? He's incompetent and literally all of his choices are bad and/or pathetic. This is, of course, COMPELTELY DIFFERENT than hellers/AAs claiming the exact same thing over everything Jared does. Ours are all totes valid complaints, theirs are just bitter stans whining because they refuse to admit they know our fave is better than theirs! Nah, everybody in this bar is ridiculous.

I would love rap recs if you have any. I remember enjoying Sage Francis many many years ago, and I tried to get into aesop rock around the same time but his voice is so gravelly I couldn't understand most of the lyrics (bums me out cause I really appreciate smart clever songwriting! But alas I do not have the best audio processing).
My tastes are pretty underdeveloped (I like the Hamilton soundtrack a lot lol, and also Bottoms Up by Trey Songz always made my ears weirdly happy tho I guess that's more R&B) but I think a big part is I like there to be a lot of instruments involved in the music, or at least like a strong focus on melody layered over the rapping? And also of course being able to parse the words without a lot of struggling is pretty crucial.
If you are not interested in making bespoke recommendations that's totally reasonable, just figured I'd ask in case that sounds fun to you :P I've tried to find rap I enjoyed over the years, but it's been hard to even figure out what traits matter to me, let alone find music that has those traits.
oh man this is a fascinating ask lemme think a bit
1) keying off of e.g. the Hamilton thing: thereās no shame in enjoying more mainstream-ish rap.Ā eminem was popular for a variety of reasons, but one of them, imo, is that most his songs had a strong hook and a pretty āsingableā chorus, which makes it more accessible if you are Not Super Familiar With Rap.Ā similarly, like, i find a lot of 90s/00s era Jay-Z to be really accessible for the same reason.Ā pretty much every track on The Black Album rules, for instance.Ā in particular iāll point out āLuciferā from that albumāit has a *very* cool backing track, which is catchy/interesting, but also very *instrumentally sparse*āwhich makes it much easier to hear the lyrics, if "muddy" production is the thing that causes the audio issues.Ā (if you end up digging that one, iād probably try dropping it into a Pandora radio station or something to try and find more like it, because while i canāt think of a rapper that *exclusively* does that kind of sparse-ish style of production, thereās definitely a lot of *individual* rap songs that are done in that style (kanyeās done a ton of them), and you could probably get a good mixtape of 'em.)
2) i really liked team teamworkās video game music / rap mashup albums and alex kresovich's "gold n' fly" Goldeneye 64 soundtrack / rap mashup album!Ā like they played a pretty big role in me getting as into the genre as i am.Ā but seriously theyāre quite good.Ā if you happen to know the particular game soundtrack then you already know you like the music; even if you don't know the music these are high-quality enough they still work well with the vocal samples; and if you REALLY like how a particular rapper sounds, you can just go look up the original dude and have a blast. (e.g. i first heard Busta Rhymes on this mashup of his "Don't Touch Me" with the Gerudo Valley theme, and was like "this dude rules", so then i looked him up and discovered i liked "Put Your Eyes Where My Hands Can See" even more, became obsessed, etc)
(relatedly, if you're a linkin park enjoyer: you know there's a whole official album where they mashed up with jay-z? it rules)
3) so deltron 3030 was like a meme / indie darling on /r/hiphopheads for a while, and for good reason.Ā del generally has a slower flow than a lot of comparable rappers, plus pretty clean production, plus he is just rapping about being a cool mech soldier in the year 3030. fun as heck.Ā so like if youāre trying to get a slightly ādeeperā cut than what you'd hear on top 40, this is a pretty good starting point
4) this is very much a ymmv thing / i VERY possibly listen to the whole genre very wrong, but thereās classes of rappers where iām less concerned about hearing the each of the lyrics clearly and i'm more, like... thinking of the voice as an instrument with sonic properties that may-or-may-not involve hearing the words clearly?Ā like, twistaās flow is just very aggressive and percussive and absolutely *thrilling* to listen to ("helicopter" style), but did i catch every word in there?Ā absolutely not lmao. and i think that's part of the point! like yeah if you listen a million times you'll eventually pick the words up, but there's plenty of rappers where i only enjoy their wordplay after i enjoyed the sound/vibes on the first listen or whatever
5) i think it helps if the song and/or music video is funny lol. "just a friend" is so fun. "damn it feels good to be a gangster" is so fun. damn weren't the late 80s / early 90s fun as hell. maybe we should all exclusively just listening to hip-hop from that era
anyway yeah HOPE THAT HELPS. if anyone else has ideas sound off

i present: yuichi's playlist! [spotify] [youtube]
(as of 3/14/2024)
as with most of the playlists i make, some songs are readily applicable, some just have the right Vibe, some are sorta funny... and in yuichi's case, there's a lot of a rain theme going on lol
(also, some are ones from my own tourabu mood playlist that i just had to bring over)
because i've always wanted to do this i'm gonna go through all the songs and maybe explain why i put it there or something?? yolo! playlist guide under the cut lol
i recommend having this going while you listen!
most songs (on the youtube version) have lyrics/translations where available!
there's a lot of kpop don't judge me lol
Dreamcatcher - Full Moon this is a song from dc to their fans on their first anniversary lol, so the themes of a somewhat-new bond are pretty relevant!
Seventeen- Campfire do i even need to explain? sobs this song makes my heart warm ... just thinking about yuichi & all the toudans sitting around a campfire having *sniffles* precious moments... ; A;
Rihanna - Umbrella LMAO this one is very on-the-nose but also just thinking about it's hilarious, i couldn't resist. (plus like... it's a jam. also lyrically it actually does fit!)
Dreamcatcher - Boca be prepared to see a lot of dreamcatcher w/me, they're my Favorite(TM). anyway Boca is about protecting someone from harsh words (better translation is "if those thornlike words / start to hurt you / i won't let them open that boca (mouth)") AND has a very rainy/stormy atmosphere which makes it perfect. yes i know my toudans are Sword Warriors yes i still want to protect them as best i can!! (it's more about like. bullying and hate but yknow. similar sentiments...shhh...)
The Weather Girls - It's Raining Men ...............i don't think i need to explain myself on this >.> (THO HAHA IMAGINE IF THIS WAS HOW SWORDS MANIFESTED IN HIS HONMARU i'm dead)
ToppDogg -Annie (Anniversary) another 'anniversary' type song, i think it speaks for itself. saniwaštoudans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Clean Bandit - Rather Be lyrically, yes!! being a saniwa is not an easy or peaceful job by any means but yuichi wouldn't want to be anywhere else <3 also the song makes me think of rainy/cool moist days!
Seventeen - Home seventeen shows up a decent amount too, but what can i say? the songs fit lol. saniwa-toudan relationships might not always be 100% sunshine and rainbows, but... they are home, no?
Twice - Feel Special GOD. this song came out while i was very into tkrb a few years ago and so that plus the song itself made me actually cry when i first watched it lol. it's so fitting though, i think from toudan or yuichi's perspective. for yuichi, he clearly struggles with his self-worth, and is...well, he's no stranger to a breakdown. but ... he's got so many touken danshi around him who love him
Girls' Generation - Talk Talk no explanation needed methinks! <3 just comparing a love to the rain
SF9 - The Beat Goes On okay this song is just like... pure beach episode, everyone gathering in the sunset and having a great time being free with each other. i include it on so many playlists where i just want to imagine a joyful time with the whole cast of whatever, it just has to go here too, even if you'd be hard-pressed to get yuichi on a beach lol
Yuju - Play this is just strictly for the vibes. i don't know that yuichi has someone who dipped and hurt him like that (but it could be interesting i guess lol). the song just is perfect for the rainy atmosphere
Dreamcatcher - Piri i told u prepare for dreamcatcher lol. anyway this song is literally about like... depression and getting to a point where you need a lifeline. very yuichi, unfortunately
New Politics - One of Us another "do i even need to explain?" song ;u; it's definitely on my tkrb playlist lol. also the lyric video is kinda fun lol imagining it as different toudans at the table
Gfriend - Summer Rain just very nice rainy vibes.
Super Junior - Why I Like You this song (the whole album really) has always given me rainy/humid vibes. but also... love <3 (ofc not necessarily romantic in yuichi's case! but yknow what i mean)
Flo Rida - My House almost a joke addition but like... also almost not a joke LOL
David Cook - Come Back to Me okay this song is tkrb playlist because it's like... 100% kiwame send-off vibes. i initially added it after watching hanamaru, thinking about kashuu sending off yasusada, but i think it also suits most sendoffs very well. i wanna cry. sobs....
SF9 - RPM So I don't have a good reason for adding this to yuichi's or my tkrb playlist other than it makes me think of using time travel to go on a mission. also i just REALLY like the song... and listening to it with the rain going is mmmwah *chef kiss*. just imagine a team going up to the [time travel device] all ready to fucking GO, looking all badass in the mist and shit. and then PPEPWWW they go! and now they're ready to fuck shit up (to un-fuck the timeline)... it's the VIBES AGAIN
Darren Hayes - Bloodstained Heart no words needed <3
Dreamcatcher - Over the Sky another anniversary fan song from dc! this song just makes me so happy and like. energized. spring time. anime conventions. so it's on my tkrb playlist, but it's also a sweet and fun song so, yknow, puts it on.
Ravi - Lean on Me is this yuichi talking to a toudan? or a toudan talking to yuichi? or ? who knows, but either way, i like it. sweet and reliable.
Seventeen - Thanks just... a song about being so grateful to know and love someone.
Major Lazer - Cold Water (the one song with justin bieber i listen to unironically lol)
Seventeen - Holiday oh man just LISTEN to it, even without the lyrics it's just like. fun!! party!! chill!!
SF9 - Bibora a jam. a rainy jam. but also maybe some parts of it speak to yuichi.
Jinsoul (Loona) - Singing in the Rain KNK - Rain Super Junior - Raining Spell for Love Strictly for the vibes.
JBJ - True Colors oh man. this song makes me cry too. my heart...
Starley - Call on Me Another song that I think explains itself lol
Dreamcatcher - Reason yet another anniversary song from deukae but it fits. through all the triumphs and hardships, despair and joy, the toudans in this citadel have become his whole reason for being and they inspire him to keep going and do better and be someone they can depend on and be proud to call their saniwa.
#sounds:yuichi#thats yuichi#honmayu#i'm not very insightful so the notes for each song didn't really go how i hoped LOL but yolo right#i doubt i will do this for the rest of the playlists for this blog jsdfjkdfkjldkfl

Hi!I need your opinion on the vault tracks for Speak Now TV!!! I somehow guessed a while ago that there would be collabs with Hayley Williams and I even guessed it would be on Castles Crumbling which is a song we've known about for a while. It really reminds me of their song Brick by Boring Brick so I hope it's similar to that. Or I always thought it could be the heartbroken version of Love Story..so maybe it will be slow and more similar to the Nothing New collab which I would also love!!! I guessed Fall Out Boy cuz she said they were a heavy influence on her at that time and she even sang Sugar we're going Down on the Speak Now tour..so my emo heart is so happy even though I know other people didn't want collabs. Also they both had really great albums out this year and I love them so much! Okay so I was reading out the track names with my sister and trying to pick them which ones we'd like for fun..then I saw When Falls in Love and freaked out. This confused my sister..who thought it would be like a Folklore old fashioned love song like Pride and Prejudice or something like Betty I guess . Am I fucking crazy for thinking this could be about Emma and Andrew??? We know they went to the Speak Now tour together and besties at the time!!! This apparently didn't even cross my sister's mind..lol so maybe it's just me. Like..she didn't even think I would wanna pick that one haha and the funny thing is..even if it didn't say the name Emma..she isn't a romantic at all. The weird thing is..I somehow maybe manifested this a while ago..thinking what Taylor thought of the relationship at the time..and if she wrote a song about it and I imagined it as a slow piano love song so i'm hoping for that! I could be wrong though..lol like what if it's nothing like that? Cuz idk if she would release it if it was about that. I'm also interested in I Can See You...and also all of them! I was hoping maybe she might post this soon for my bday next week and now we still have to wait a month. Apparently this got leaked though and we couldn't have a vault puzzle either. I was also surprised Battle wasn't on there but maybe she wrote it with someone and that's why..cuz that's why she left off Drama Queen..but it was also pretty similar to Better than Revenge. Idk which order to listen in. I was doing in order cuz I don't usually play her old albums in full or anything and it's been a while. But then I thought I could switch up order since we've heard it before..like listen to vault tracks first or one on shuffle..and see if it changes something about the album. So I might listen to vault tracks first for this one! I can't wait to have new favorite songs again..I'm so excited!
hi!! I immediately thought of you with the features and the emma discussion! I remember seeing a rumour that castles crumbling is about her parents getting divorced (which I'd definitely enjoy) but I have no idea if there's any truth to that or if it was just speculation.
obviously the Emma could be a fictional one or just someone we don't know about but it does feel like there's something there that the only Emma we know of her being friends with was Emma Stone! if it is about her and Andrew then that really doesn't help me in trying to get over a couple of celebrities that I don't know and that are long broken up š I'm probably most curious about that one because it's such a specific title, but I'm looking forward to all of them. also it's fun that the genres are quite mysterious since there's presumably a bit of a pop punk vibe, plus it's probably quite country heavy still.
I may get tempted by the vault songs and I do think it's a fun opportunity to sort of experience the album in a different way, but I'll probably end up going for mine first anyway. it's exciting having new songs to look forward to and I love the whole original album so I'm sure I'll love this!

Ń ŃŠ¾ŃŠ»Š° Ń ŃŠ¼Š° by tatu - poppy's cover of the english version of this song is one of the best covers out there imo but nothing beats the original. it hits so different in russian too even though i don't understand most of it (but the bits that i do ? omg)
i hear you calling by gob - think this song is on an old chel soundtrack which is cool. one of the many bands i got into through looking at old tour posters (eternally grateful i figured out i could do that when i was 12 i've found so many good bands this way). this whole album is fuckin amazing but the guitar riff in this song is soo nice. always gets stuck in my head
(@smolpieceoftoast @memphisbelle @fagdeniro @fiftysecondstreet @emuchipmunk @rocket-eighty-eight plus like. anyone else who wants to do this)
#also @ everyone i tagged: plz dont feel any pressure to do this at all :)#dont do these often cuz i forget but this was nice

Tuesday, August 6th 2024, 8:10 p.m
Haha. It's really rare for me to write an entry title in other language than English. I am currently learning Korean but not fluent enough to write the whole blog with Korean so, yeah.
Yesterday was Monday, August 5th 2024. I woke up around 8 a.m and I felt this strange comforting feeling. I felt that the weather was the most perfect that I've ever experience.
I never really like summer. I never like hot weather. But yesterday, I found that the weather was perfect. I woke up with slight sunrays coming through my window. The air was fresh. The sunlight was not really hot, but rather warm.
The vibes really reminds me of this song, YeYe - ćććć. It's also funny that I listened to this song for the first time around 5-6 years ago when I went back to Tumblr. I completely forgot the existence of this song until around a week ago. I remember there was a song with a slow summer vibe that I used to listen but I couldn't remember the title. I thought the title was "KuraKura" but I couldn't find it. Turns out it is "YuraYura". It's strange that I one day I just woke up randomly remembering the part of a song that the existence I've completely forgotten and suddenly remember the title.
After a few minutes, I enjoyed the song and I remember another song that captures this feelings best for me. It is YOASOBI - ćć®å¤¢ććŖćć£ć¦ (Tracing that Dream).
Actually, Seungmin's cover was the first one that popped in my head because it has this youthful vibes in it. But I ended up listening to the original version for only God knows how many time.
I don't know what possessed me, but really, I can feel everything deeply. I was so grateful for the sunlight and the fresh air. Like, it was rare. I'm not sure if anyone else can feel it too. I feel like I'm on weeds lol, but I'm not. I cried for a few minutes, just sitting there in my window feeling the sun. I was grateful to be exist and the feeling of it was beautiful. It was just a mundane thing but it was the best feeling ever. That's what it feels to be alive.
Lately I've been feeling down because of my unemployment and I don't have anyone to talk to. I can't go anywhere because I don't have the money. But when I was sunbathing, I had this thought that if I'm not unemployed, I may not be able to feel this kind of luxury of just doing nothing, enjoying just being exist on a random Monday at 10 a.m. This is another level of gratefulness.
Anyway, here's some pictures from yesterday.
Another reason why I could feel that way was maybe because I'm watching this K-Drama called Summer Strike. The story is about Yeoreum (ģ¬ė¦) who was formerly an average office worker relocating from Seoul to a suburban called Angog after a series of unfortunate events as a "strike" towards life. The Korean title is also kind of cute, ģė¬“ź²ė ķź³ ģ¶ģ§ ģģ (I don't want to do anything).
I feel like I did what Yeoreum does two years ago after I resigned from my toxic-kinda-job. I had this phase of doing nothing, just healing from whatever holding me back at that time. It was really worth it. I could never even replicate the feeling of freedom and healing I had back then.
I am grateful for everything, I'm grateful that I am healed right now. But now I am also full of hesitation of where should I go next because I can't afford another trauma lol. I don't know where I'm going, again. I guess, I am the stray kid. Lol Lol. This poem describes me perfectly right now.
Anyway, I don't know what else should I write so I'll just end the story here. I write this blog while listening to Hyunjin's IG Live. He's painting and playing a few songs from Ate album. I don't completely understand what he was saying the whole time but hopefully I'll get better in Korean this year.
Bonus: He just got his hair permed today. So cute. (too lazy to crop them)
Bye.

Hi! I liked Schmicago more cuz it also had a lot of my fav musicals referenced and I was more familiar with it like Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Hair and Jesus Christ Superstar and Pippin too. I also think the cast is good and had a lot of theater actors unlike most things and the songs all fit or made sense like a musical. I'm sad it got cancelled! I have not been keeping up with musicals as much but did see the casting of the other Gatsby I think and was wondering what you thought. Other than that, I've only seen snippets from new musicals so I have no idea, including the Jeremy one. Maybe I will go back into it at some point. I feel the same way about reading honestly and I hope to start again soon. I've just been busy for the last few months lol. Unfortunately I don't really have recommendations for anything cuz I've been focusing on Taylor instead.
So I was talking about the twenty one pilots concert haha but I did think about getting tickets to his tour cuz seeing Maisie would be a plus. I was surprised she was an opener for him. I really enjoyed the album which has a very 80s sound. I really enjoyed his song Found Heaven..its one of my favorite songs of the year so far!
I've only listened to the whole album with the anthology part like 3 times so far but my first impressions were that I really liked it! Like in the first few songs I was like whoa this isn't what I expected but then I also didn't know what to expect really. I had a hard time keeping up with lyrics and felt the first few songs felt like a lot for some reason. I also think my first impressions have changed a little already the more I listen to it and cuz I couldn't remember all the songs at that point. I was very surprised about the double album! There's always theories about a double album and it didn't make sense cuz we already knew about the bonus tracks. I hadn't even started the album at that point lol and couldn't play it more than once cuz it got late. But my favorites from the first 16 are the title track, although my prediction about it was off, Who's afraid of little old me, Guilty as Sin, and Fresh out the Slammer, which I thought would be one of my least favorites, but I love the way it sounds, and Down Bad. I also like I can do it with a broken heart and Fortnight a lot more cuz of the video. The anthology I expected it to be more like Folklore and it was in sound with somewhat more abstract lyrics. However I also thought it might be telling connected stories like Folklore with all the names which threw me off but I get it now. I was way off with that. My favorites on are I Hate it Here, How Did it End, The Prophecy and the Black Dog. So I predicted the Black Dog was gonna be one of my favorites, so I guess I was kinda right, except it wasn't what I thought it would be..like I don't think it was about depression the way I thought it would be. I also predicted there was something different to the bonus tracks having the that felt so different than other tracks and it was actually part of a different album! The Manuscript is one that I thought I would like but I had a really hard time understanding the song at first so I was disappointed. It's one that I like the message of the song more than the actual song. I made the mistake of reading other people's opinions and analysis which sometimes helps, like with that song, but sometimes it doesn't and I would want my own interpretations first. I also didn't have a lot of stand out absolute favorite songs on either part but I'm still getting used to it. It was more that I liked it all but some songs blended together too. I'm still not sure how the albums go together and I think it would be cool to hear her talk about how it all fits together. However my sister said she loved the second part a lot more and it had a lot of good lyrics. The album also didn't feel like any of her other albums to me either but I think I liked it more than I liked Midnights when I first heard that but also might have to grow on me too. I guess it's like rep and Folklore in a way but different than I thought it would be. It's a really honest album and she also plays more into a character on some songs. But Daddy I love him is an example and was also one that stuck out to me cuz it was kinda different than anything else on the album but I was so confused at first. I will keep you updated if I have new favorites or I notice other lyrics
Also I had no idea you were that sick and had Covid! I hope you recover and get plenty of rest cuz that sounds so awful! I hope the musicals are helping and you're enjoying the album. I'm pretty sure you're familiar with all of my favorite musicals already like Les Mis, Sweeney Todd, Wicked, Newsies, and West Side Story, but I will recommend Rent again which Aaron Tveit has sang songs from lol. I'm sorry if I forgot anything but I hope you feel better and have a good week!
hello!! happy friday š¤ i am starting to feel a lot better (tested negative for covid yesterday, but still coughing a bit ā it'll take me a while to get over it as it takes me a while to get over anything with my victorian child immune system/asthma/etc)! are you doing anything fun this weekend?
i am a terrible theatre person, and admittedly just watched sweeney todd yesterday. i watched the movie a few summers ago, but didn't really care for it/retain much, and so i finally sat down and watched a bootleg of it last night! very fun to see in hindsight, the schmicago references (although i did pick up on a fair amount of them). wondering if i should watch cabaret too ā and then backtrack and watch brigadoon and then do a schmicadoon / schmicago rewatch to see how many more references i can spot! i have also never seen jesus christ superstar, or hair. oops? i wonder what season 3 could've been; i was talking to one of my best friends about it and i was like oh les schmiserables or into the schwoods would've been cute!
i'm SO excited for art gatsby; i was reading the interview with ben levi ross about how they've intentionally made nick gay, and i'm really really intrigued by it. and just everything about it. the casting, the creative team. i cannot wait to hear about it. i think i'm going to do a gatsby reread soon ā i've been talking about doing it for ages, and all of this gatsby news has me itching to reread! i was reading the gatsby reviews last night and well... i am not surprised by them!
ooh! i'm glad you got tickets to 21p! my bad for misreading š¤ i still haven't listened to conan, but i will soon!! i need to focus on learning the music for the lizzy mcalpine, since her concert is in like two weeks and i ... have only listened to the album once! oops!
did you see that she's rehearsing a TTPD set? i'm shocked, but also shouldn't be. i wonder if she'll cut songs out, what she'll add ā do you have any predictions? i'm thinking i can do it with a broken heart, but that might be too meta for the eras tour? but also i think but daddy i love him, guilty as sin, fortnight, could be fun on stage. and who's afraid of little old me ā or clara bow? but maybe that's too similar thematically to some of the other songs she has right now. hmm! but also all this and no debut set :(((((((
i have listened to aaron tveit sing one song glory (on his album) and i love his cover! i need to sit down and watch rent one of these days, but did laugh at you pointing out that aaron has been in rent because if something will get me to do anything ... it is that man. unfortunately. and i have been meaning to rewatch newsies (my beloved) š¤ i think i am going to rewatch les mis soonnnnn and then go from there!

Loved reading how much your thoughts on the albums have changed. I'm glad you're enjoying golden more now (:
My top 3 albums and songs
1. Golden - Somebody, yes or no, and Seven
2. Indigo- Still life, Lonley, and Closer
3. Layover- Love me again
On my initial listen, I liked Golden, but I was unsure if I truly loved the album or if I was being slightly biased. Flash forward to the TSX stage, and I realized I absolutely love every golden song. I just can't explain how much excitement I felt and i wasn't even there lol š Although I do agree with people who critique it because it lacks cohesion and story, all the songs are a vibe and are def meant to be performed live. I officially became JK biased this year so I'm hoping he finds time in between group work to release another album and possibly tour later on. Ugh I'm just not ready to move on from Golden lol
You mentioned that no album was a masterpiece, but I honestly believe Indigo is. I just found this album to be perfect in every possible way. I have not heard such a cohesive album in a long time.
Layover was a pleasant surprise for me. It's just the perfect chill album. The only con for me is that it's too short lol it left me wanting more.
D-day- I really like SDL, people pt 2, and snooze. I don't really play the album that often, but the songs I listed make it in my playlist rotation often.
Face- I hate saying this but I didn't really enjoy Face... I know this is such a Fandom favorite but I just couldn't connect to it š I'm hoping he goes in a different direction for pjm2
JITB- I'm not really a rap person but there's something about hobi's flow that's so addictive. That being said I did enjoy his previous album more than this one.
What do you want to see the members do next year in terms of albums and singles?
Rumored albums- rm, jimin, jin jhope
Rumored singles- JK, V, Suga
Hi! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! The thing with Golden is that I'm JK biased so of course I would grow to love an album my baby loves. But besides that, Jungkook's voice is my favorite in the whole world. It's so addictive, and all the Golden live performances made me love the songs pmore. Yes or No, for example, sounded better live.
Golden doesn't have a story, true, and I wouldn't call it vibey like Layover, but Golden is also the kind of album you just know not to expect much of in terms of artistry tbh. Pop albums can be cohesive, but Golden is just not that kind of album. If you like pop and listen to Golden without expecting more just because it's BTS, I doubt you're even disappointed in the lyrics and lack of flow. But Jungkook is more than capable of releasing a fun album with good lyrics.
My favorite songs are SNTY, Somebody and 3D (Alternate Ver).
Indigo is cohesive, and I guess when it comes to Face and Indigo, maybe I can't appreciate them properly because I didn't dive very deep into the lyrics. I don't mind thinking about lyrics, but I don't like it when lyrics seem vague and too poetic. I know how that sounds, but I like Suga's lyrics because they're so straight to the point, and I like relating the lyrics across his work. No one else makes me want to do that.
JITB seems to be a fan favorite along with Face. But I guess I'm not a big rap enjoyer. And Hobi's tone can be too much for me.
I've no idea what the members will do. At this point we can assume every rumor is true because they nearly always are, even when they're off a bit. We know V has a song with IU next, and I wouldn't be surprised if he has more collabs or solos lined up. Jimin has that song with Ryan Tedder and maybe an album? RM has his project, and probably tons of collabs knowing him. I remember an anon telling me Jungkook would release a collab with Katy Perry? And I'm pretty sure there is a Latto collab too? I didn't hear anything about Suga. But he might have done a few collabs and produced a couple of songs? I guess Jin and Hobi are a given. They'll definitely release something when they come back, and Hobi has an OST album coming up?
Thanks for the ask! I loved reading your thoughts! Thanks for reading mine āŗļø

I wanted to give my ideas/interpretations into this cos i find yours very interesting :0
Tho mines on the opposite end with it a bit. [None of this is like, dissing your interp btw i just wanna also see how different ideas of Soul can be]
I agree that Soul doesn't like Heart & Mind, but that it's during most of TSE & The Bidding. I feel like they couldn't all ever be whole if any of them really hated the other or anything.
Most of his anger comes from the fact that throughout the first half of the album, Heart & Mind either push him to the side or only view him as a vessel or something to control. Which makes sense to be angry at the people that don't view you as your own person. Soul is especially hurt by it since he's all about the Self & Identity. āYou must be so arrogant to think that either of you can control The Soul so wholly when to be one whole you canāt hold solelyā rlly says that to me.
[This is from a different rant i was going on once but it also fits here]
And the only reason he ever wanted to kill either of them is when he starts to think that they're all never going to get better & he doesn't wanna be in this state of Cacophony anymore.
The entire stanza from āSee how the brain plays aroundā to āDoctor I can't tell if I'm not meā is Soul admitting he has no idea what to do or how to fix this and it just keeps getting worse. And as he has that breakdown, Heart & Mind ignore him completely and still only care about proving the other wrong. Which is finally when Soul gives up completely and starts to think that there's no point to keep going anymore. [The line āHeart Mind Slay Soulā from Dream(OfC) also rlly shows how, although unintentionally, the two of them are pushing Soul too far and in turn killing him which gets him to the point of Tridential Regicide. Which the next lyric in Dream, āBlood falls Threefoldā foreshadows]
The entire last three stanzas show how apathetic Souls become now & he more or less says that if we can't ever be whole then there's no point in us living. Which then goes into The Bidding. Soul gives the two one last chance to again state their problems & to have the other respond with some sorta feedback that isn't just them yelling an insult at the other [Even if the problem seems like an insult].
And when both of them still continue fighting, Souls lines are āTime is short, life even more yet you wage this silly war. Going twice, Going thrice. Guess this means we'll tie the rope todayā. Him now having completely given up and, tho my interpretation, is likely about to die. Seeing that even when told that they have one last chance to live, Heart & Mind still refuse to fix anything.
Tho at that LAST SECOND do the two halves panic realizing how far everything's gotten do they finally talk about their problems properly, not fight back against the other, & actually sing in harmony.
I wish the album went into more of the fact that Souls' answer to everything was likeā¦death. Which is not a good answer obviously. Tho it might just be due to the metaphor for the album & that Vol. 1 is mainly Heart & Mind centric [Soul technically wasn't a character still the upload of Two Wuv I believe so makes sense why he doesn't have as much as M&H. Sucks but it just happens when the story is actually made once almost half the album is out. Not CJs fault lol]. Tho its makes me very interested in what Vol. 2 could do since all characters & story will be brought into it fully now. But that's not happening till way way later.
Soul is a very interesting character to me tho & I like seeing others ideas of him, so I like yours a lot
Soul Hates Heart and Mind: A Message To The Chonny Jash Fandom (which dives into theory territory near the end)
Sorry guys, but I donāt see enough people talking about this, or enough fics that acknowledge this, so just in case I have to remind you:
You do remember that Soulā¦ doesnāt like Heart or Mind, right?
No, seriously. He calls them parasites in The Soul Eclectic, is borderline forcing them to try and become Whole again (that one part of The Bidding), and heās clearly only giving them the time of day because theyāre the key to making him Whole: something thatās only important to him because it would basically kill them.
Not to mention, he also fucking sends death threats to them on a daily basis- death threats that he would absolutely carry out if doing so wouldnāt also kill him. Hell, at the end of The Soul Eclectic he plans to do it knowing it would also kill him.
If Heartās problem is that heās too emotional for his own good, and Mindās is that heās an arrogant jackass who bottles up all his emotions and judges people, then Soulās is that heās too obsessed with the past.
He doesnāt like whatās happened to his head, he wants things to go back to the way they used to, and he takes that anger out on Heart and Mind because itās easy for him.
Hell, Iād say itās not a bad theory that the only reason why Heart and Mind want to be Whole again is because Soul keeps telling them they have to.
And when Vol. 2 comes outā¦ I think itād be a pretty good plot twist that that obsession is what started the fighting in the first place.
So with that saidā¦ out of all three of them, who deserves it most? Who must pay the toll?
Not Heart, nor Mind, but the Soul.
#this also seems like a mini hate rant against heart & mind i swear its not lol#i wanna go into them more at some point but this was soul centric so just wanted to talk about how they affectted him by accident#im not good at explaining things well but i hope it all made sense#As much as I love Two Wuv [i love that song WAY too much i have like. 820 plays last i checked damn]#I wish there was another Soul song that more talked about him & how he thinks of and works with Heart & Mind more#TSE is rlly the only one that does that#He does have SpAAS & NMtK but they aren't as detailed as like Be Born & Just Apathy#Tho his two songs do have a lotta stuff you can get from them its just not as much as id like#again not CJs fault those two songs are literally the very first TH songs he did. no story/idea was there yet#Dream(OfC) tho.....ough thats a whole other Soul song & rant i could go on#anyways sorry for ranting sm OP i just love the complicated mess that is Soul#moss post#also the āwho will pay the tollā line is very interesting for a much different reason since CJs answer to that was in future tense#as in one of them will play the toll in Vol. 2
