i hear you calling by gob - think this song is on an old chel soundtrack which is cool. one of the many bands i got into through looking at old tour posters (eternally grateful i figured out i could do that when i was 12 i've found so many good bands this way). this whole album is fuckin amazing but the guitar riff in this song is soo nice. always gets stuck in my head

i definitely understand the anxiety that comes with starting out on the kinky side of tumblr! i think the most important starting point is setting your boundaries up front + curating your dashboard :) (simplest example is making a pinned post with a DNI ((do not interact)) list + if you feel like, you can outright state that you're looking for friends + to build a community here! + you can always say you're not looking for romance, but are open to flirting with friends!)

in my experience, the best way to become mutuals/become friends is by reblogging + leaving tags on creators' posts, sending asks when/if they share ask games or post about wanting asks/anons, and understanding that behind every blogger is someone with a whole life! it is very fun to be mutuals with people on here, but i think it's really important to not put too much weight on it. it can be really easy to grow parasocial relationships with people on here- so just remember that while people are owed kindness and respect, they don't have to meet your expectations of them/have to match how you perceive them, if that makes sense. idk, sometimes i feel mutual culture can lean toward the toxic side if you put too much pressure on it. unfollow people who make you uncomfortable, if their blog changes + you're not into it anymore, etc etc. i also recommend blocking any tags for content you don't want to see!

as for gaining confidence with your body- follow creators with bodies similar to yours! in fact, follow creators of all body types!! there is so much beauty in everyone, celebrating others definitely lends to celebrating yourself :) never feel pressured to post your own photos if you don't want to- a simple tag like "hey my body is like this!" or similar is also a celebration of yourself! for me, curating my dash/following a wide range of people has helped my body image *so much*!

i want to reiterate making your own DNI + posting limits. there are people here who will try to push your boundaries and many more who don't even look at people's pages before interacting with them. block anyone! block everyone! protect your space on here!! i try my best to look at every blog/post i interact with before liking/reblogging- to ensure they're not a minor/don't allow minors in their space, to double check im not crossing their boundaries/if the content i share is on their DNI, to vet if they're terfy/swerfy, to see if they tend to share stolen/uncredited content, to see how they treat other creators.

and also!! while it is a lot of fun to flirt with others on here- be selective and flirt with those who will value you.
