Sleep is one of the few things that even Chrollo Lucilfer cannot escape, although the length of time he can delay it might fool many to think otherwise. It is in inevitably sooner or later ( both in a temporary state such as naps and sleeping as well as in the more permanent sense of death itself) that he will cave. It just happens sooner than he expected while tucked into the window seat of the library he has in this particular hideout. It was a feature in many of them, but not all. He could spend hours lost in the pages - which was precisely what had happened here. At least, until his eyes had fallen closed, dark lashes like cobwebs resting against the fair skin of his cheeks, a page still delicately held between his fingers as if he might wake and turn it any moment. ( He would not even if left undisturbed. Not until he woke again. )

The slightest touch has Chrollo's eyes opening, less like a started animal and more like an observer. Should anyone else witness it, they might indeed believe Chrollo had been awake the entire time and merely offering a ruse. But those close would know the truth that he had indeed been dozing off where he had been perched.

" Shalnark - " Chrollo only mildly attempts a noise of protest and is far from surprised at Shalnark's cheerful, if chastising, response that there'd be plenty of time for reading later and that he should get some rest. He's also fairly certain that there's a lighthearted threat in there. Not to cause harm of course, but to ensure Chrollo did go to bed and remain there an appropriate amount of time. All he can do while Sharnark carries him is offer an amused, tired smile.

The silk sheets are comfortable and cool against his skin as he's set down and opts to simply crawl into bed rather than change or otherwise discard layers beside the coat that hadn't been put on to begin with. He sinks against the pillow and feels a blanket being pulled over top of him as Shalnark smoothes out the rest of it. "...Thank you.
