So, recently Davis spoke out on a situation that came up in The Lunar and Earth Show fandom.

From what I understand, Kat, Earth's voice actor, is receiving a lot of hate, not only against her characters, but also against her for one of the most recent videos.

I never give my opinion so publicly but I think it would be good to show support for Kat.

It's stupid. All those people who come here to talk nonsense about Earth stepping out of her role of being the good and positive one are very stupid.

All or most of the cast have been through morally negative situations. Moon has abused his own brother for many years, and continues to do so. And it seems like the fandom is constantly covering its eyes to ignore this. But hey, Earth can't deny someone a hug because she becomes the mean girl and the worst character ever. Can you see how stupid this argument sounds?

Maybe, I understand that when the character was introduced it got negative reviews. Literally, they never worked with anyone other than Davis or Reed and introducing a new VA was to take you out of your zone. But, continuing to look at Kat in a bad way is the behavior of a child.

You can't expect an amazing story either, guys, specifically this group of people who are attacking Earth so much, you're not paying for a video service. You're not spending a single cent. As far as I know, Davis, Reed and Kat have spent money to maintain quality content day after day. The show has been updated every weekday for over two years.

Kat has done her best to adapt to the audience's tastes, not the other way around. She has done her best not to be an empty character. But the people who attack her don't even bother to see how their characters have evolved positively. Earth has such an empty story because the audience doesn't even pay attention to it.

You can't expect to have an amazing, original story if every time Kat holds the mic you look away. It's stupid.

Kat has been a great support for the story of like three different shows. I think these people who just want to hate something don't realize how boring the show would be without an intervention.

It's a disgusting thought to hate a fictional character just because she's a woman. And it's repulsive to hate a VA for being female. Are you stupid? Because that's the first thing I think if your main argument is "She's a woman, we don't need that"

I'm not a fan of any of the three VAs. I don't like them personally, but I'm going to defend them, especially Kat if they get any hate for this.

You can't put Bloodmoon, who tortured, manipulated, and murdered so many people, on a pedestal and throw trash and hate at Earth just for existing. It's stupid.

I understand if Kat has distanced herself from the fandom and doesn't want to have contact with the audience directly. Just because you are a public figure doesn't mean you have to swallow all the hate and keep smiling. Kat is not just a source of entertainment. She is a human being, who has emotions, thoughts and a limit.

If you have crossed her line, the only thing you can do is step back and leave her alone. No one would like to receive immense amounts of hate because their character is not to everyone's taste.

If you are part of this group of horrible people, I ask you to please leave. I don't want those people here.

Thinking about sukuna and

that one "Kitty you better not be dead" song.

Like imagine him finding this abandoned cat (In the modern au) and laughing at it because it looks absolutely repulsive, drenched and dirty in a cardboard box but then it starts following him- making cute noises (it sounds like screaming rather than meowing) as if having a conversation.

He lives in a shitty apartment above a convenience store. Technically he doesn't have to, but he simply doesn't care enough to find somewhere else, let alone have the means to maintain it.

And then he realizes the poor thing is limping! So now he has to take it to the vet but- OMFG are cat medical bills expensive, and he was just a drug dealer on the low, but now he's gotta sell some REAL stuff 🙄

This guy would flop on the sofa after meeting with ONE buyer and let out the biggest sigh as if he just slaved away at a 9-5, cussing out the cat for being, "So fuckin' needy."

Now he has to do his research on public forums about the best cat food and gets pissy when the normal one he gets is out of stock. At some point he has enough and either buys in bulk or cuts a deal with the shop owner bellow (he is friends with) and pays them to add it to their shelves which he can now do because the cat encouraged him to start working seriously.

At first it was the vet bills, then he realised that food was expensive, and to set up basics like litter boxes, bowls... And of course the cat needs a leash? The vet said it would be best for his kitty to be an indoor cat and so outside appearances must be special, meaning their leash must be decorate and on brand. Don't get him started on the cold- the poor baby needs clothes too.

He unintentionally raised up the ranks in his "job", then got noticed by one of the higher ups in the underworld. Now he is doing the real dirty work. That also means his hours are more demanding and he simply can't have that. What was his kitty supposed to do all by themselves?

Now he has to take the kitty into torture rooms with him. Make sure they are strapped in when he does a drive by and tells the person he kidnapped in the boot to shut up because his kitten is sleeping peacefully in the backseat. What a pain.

There are only a few people Sukuna trusts with his pride and joy, two of them being Nanami Kento and Uarame, who were more than amused to see the ever so infamous man take such careful measures with the small creature. That being said they quickly put anyone else who openly acknowledges it in their place and have also formed a bond with the cat, even going as far to send gifts on its birthday and Christmas.

Sukuna would end up hunting down the person who left the kitty by getting into the street cameras.

He'd rather kill a thousand people than go a day without his cat.

Depending on someone's level of familiarity his entire life is a fun tidbit but I will do my best.

(Art piece of The Red Bee that adorns one wall of the Superior City Historic Society) Richard "Rick" Raleigh would have appeared to anyone who knew him as the most stand up kind of guy that existed at that time. The assistant DA in the booming pacific port town of Superior City. His only major quirk was a fascination with bees but hey, everyone has to have a hobby right? No one knows for sure what caused his turn to crime fighting, as I've stated before it really was just something in the air during those days. If people like The Sandman and The Atom could do it, and make the jackals preying on vulnerable communities shiver, then anyone would with the right willpower.

His abilities were modest. A motorcycle, a "stinger gun" (which in reality was just a souped up BB pistol but sting it did indeed do) and his secret weapon. A trained bee named Michael. Those of you who do not know this story just balked at that. How does one train a bee? Don't bees live like, two months at best? I need you to look at me when I tell you a couple of things and then the best guess we have. I am NOT fucking with you. 1. That bee is still alive, and has recently reunited with Raleigh's time displaced sidekick. 84 years after Raleigh's debut. Michael sat, and waited until Ladybug returned to the honey farm where he was housed and upon her return instantly flew up to her acting with direct recognition of the young woman after 8 decades.

2. Michael is able to sting multiple times without any ill effects on his person. (Bee-son. You know what I mean) Our best guess? The bee has a metagene.

A random mutation in this seemingly random worker bee has given it, what is from its perspective superhuman abilities of intellect, longevity and invulnerability. It is a theory because under no circumstances are we ever going to get to find out unless for some god forsaken reason the two heirs to Raleigh's estate pass it off to science when and if it does finally die.

Perhaps the discovery OF Michael's abilities were of partial inspiration for Raleigh's career. Truly we may never know.

Raleigh himself died in a battle with Nazi war criminal Baron Blitzkrieg in 1944, distracting the Baron long enough for his teammates in the Freedom Fighters to free themselves and turn the tide of battle. His memorial rests in Raleigh Park, Superior City for those curious. Note that it is a somber place of respect, those who have gone in an attempt to trivialize or joke on Raleigh's legacy have found themselves suspiciously targeted by the park's many large bee hives. The local superstition is that Michael has made it clear to all his fellows in the thousands of following generations who made their undisturbed home possible. I mean I definitely think it's worth it to sign petitions for these causes, because it's a fairly easy way to demonstrate to the federal government where the Australian people stand on these issues. and like. a lot of politicians are much more likely to respect these traditional forms of political participation more than anything that happens on social media

that being said, it's definitely not the be all and end all with regards to communicating to politicians about Palestine. it's also important to call representatives or send an email or a letter! it's also important to go to protests! political movements are multifaceted things, and the more ways we talk about Palestine, the harder it is for it to be ignored. if your local member holds office hours or town halls, you can also go along to those and talk to them in person if you're able to

that being said, I also encourage people to stay on top of Australia's other actions with regards to foreign policy, beyond just in Palestine. Australia is a major colonial power in Asia and the Pacific, and it's important that we resist against our involvement in colonial projects that have led to the displacement of First Peoples around the globe. I think it's particularly important that Australians, as citizens of a major settler-colony make sure we're well-versed on anticolonialism anti-colonial projects

Regarding the Accepted, I agree they were a poor choice for the task, but from the perspective of someone trying to be discreet and keep things under control, they were the only option. The sisters being displeased is just subordinates bitching. There are only a few dozen Accepted, if that many. There were about 40 novices when Nynaeve & Egwene went to the Tower a generation later, and there are going to be fewer Accepted by virtue of the more stringent requirements and winnowing process of novice training. The Aes Sedai might be upset, but it's not a disruption to the actual work of the Tower, as opposed to keeping the student body of a tiny school occupied. The Tower does not have a school year or a schedule for the training of their initiates, so a few days lost is meaningless. They don't have to get to a certain point in their lesson plans by the end of the marking period or the holidays.

And you don't just hire up a dozen skilled workers on a temporary basis in a preindustrial society, especially in a city in a war zone. Where do they come from? How do they get to the Tower? What are they doing if they are already in Tar Valon at the time? Employment in such a setting is not strictly transactional, it's a relationship, as we see with Moiraine and the dressmaker.

The problem with the Options suggested is that they are not true and Tamra is bound by the Three Oaths. Also, they are easily checked. Who is doing these studies? The Tower is a rather small community, and they all know each other. There are less than 1500 members of an extremely unique profession, world-wide, and all based out of the same headquarters, all graduates of the same school and citizens of the same political system. Even if they aren't friends or close, they are aware of what each other is doing in a general professional sense, if for no other reason than to maintain the custom against interference in each other's affairs. The benefit of her cover story is that it is true - she actually is giving out the bounties - and is an actual reason for gathering the specific data, that is, the name of the family and how to find them. You'd need a lot more for any sort of study.

As for sending the Warders, that's a HUGE amount of ground to cover for a lone agent, and a ton of people to question, many, even most, of whom would not be inclined to talk. Remember, in WoT, there are delineations between spheres of activity and some people are firmly seen as having no business in some areas. A man has no business investigating matters of childbirth, or bothering new mothers. The most credence he would be given would be if he was a father searching for his partner & new child, but that also means no one would bother telling him about women who had, or claimed to have, a specific father for their baby. Like the wife of an Illianer officer. No need to mention her to this man who seems to be trying to find his baby & baby-momma. An obvious warrior inquiring about child births not his own is flat out weird, and would be more likely to instigate a conspiracy of silence to hide the woman in question until they knew his interest was benign and welcomed by the subject, as well as bringing even more attention to the matter. The benefit of the bounty announcement is that it draws the mothers to the searchers, because it is presented as beneficial. People who hear about it are going to help hook up the moms and searchers, and would be more likely to encourage shy or reluctant women to come forward, than help them maintain discretion.

Of course, in this particular case, with hindsight, it's pretty easy to guess why they didn't luck out. Tam & Kari would have sufficient money already (recall what Egwene says about how lucrative military service is, and that's for a recruit off the farm, compared to the blademaster second-in-command of an elite royal bodyguard unit) and as the adoptive parents of an Aiel baby, they would absolutely not want to expose their parental relationship to any sort of scrutiny, especially by the Aes Sedai. And frankly, those cover stories about sisters conducting studies would be even worse in their case. Either they might want to make a special examination of an Aiel baby, or maybe Tam & Kari think they shouldn't taint the study with an outlier subject.

As for Tamra herself, that would be a pretty indefensible course of action, vis a vis compulsion, it would be impractical, which is the reason Jordan explicitly gave for giving up the practice and even moreso if you are going to be employing this reluctant badass warrior with the security of the infant Dragon Reborn. The whole reason for secrecy on Tamra's part, according to Siuan & Moiraine, is that she didn't want to cope with trying to bring reluctant sisters on board. Compelling a warder to help is just the same problem, concentrated. And from a meta perspective, we know that A. using evil methods to fight the Shadow or defend the Light is counter-indicated, and B. basically bonding a warder would not have accomplished anything other than getting him killed when she was taken by the Black Ajah.

All of which is to say, I heartily agree with the thrust of your arguments, its just that the little mechanical details are things I find interesting and important. Not so much here, where we come to the same conclusion from different positions, but very often they are the key to understanding seemingly small issues in the story from a diegetic perspective.

While we're at it, I really need to vent about how foolish this whole hunt for the baby dragon was. The illogic of Hears prophecy -> wants to hide prophecy -> starts manhunt as poorly disguised baby compensation program just annoys me.

The baby compensation amount is ridiculously high. Yes, to attract any woman who perhaps wasn't very interested in the money, but it screams desperation.

The method of acquiring data is sloppy. Accepted are NOT good scribes, as evidenced by Moiraine having to transcribe most of the entries. They also focus on the wrong details, because they don't know what is actually important, because keeping the birth of the Dragon Reborn secret is really important. But here we get stuck in a quagmire of casting a large net -> too much data with not enough detail, while casting a tighter net -> getting caught and losing the secret. Which is why using Accepted to accomplish this task was foolish.

What would have been a better plan?

First option that comes to mind is to do nothing. This has the advantages of not signaling that you are looking for someone important to the Black Ajah. It protects your secret most thoroughly.

Of course, then you can't protect interfere with the Dragon Reborn as he grows, because you don't know who he is. (Not that they succeeded in this goal anyway, which leads us back to Do Nothing as a reasonable response.)

Really, if the goal was to find Rand secretly, sending your Warder seems like the best course of action. In the moment of the prophecy, this should have been the very first response. Oh, what's that? She didn't have a Warder? (Gnashes teeth. Unprepared Aes Sedai, as usual.)

But back to the census. If what they really wanted was a high-quality list of babies born on Dragonmount, it would have been much, much better to have actual clerks do the work. White Tower wants a census, they have their reasons, no one's going to be suspicious about such an academic pursuit. Clerks doing clerk work? Also very not suspicious. Normal boring stuff. Nothing to see here.

All of this to say, Tamra doesn't impress me as being very slick. She painted a target on her back unnecessarily, especially since Do Nothing was a perfectly reasonable strategy.

I wish I wasn't so exhausted and I could make more art.... I even planned out a whole prompt-a-day month for Saigenos/Genosai, TWICE, but the first time no one seemed like they could participate when I asked about it, and the second time I friggin lost the damned plan. I could remake it a third time, but I just....I don't know.

I've been really struggling to get along for a while, and I think if it didn't hit it off--or even if I just got really productive and it seemed like I was reaching crickets--I'd be so incredibly discouraged that it would bring me down even further. It usually takes my stuff a few months to a year to get reach, and that really doesn't do anything for me when I need the support immediately.

It's not that I don't have a billion ideas for so many different things, but my battery has been taking longer and longer to charge up and it's been running out faster and faster, and it's been like this for....a year?? Ish?? Maybe longer, I don't know.

Hello! After this tournament is complete, I have no plans to run any further tournaments on this blog.

As for other tournaments, I have no plans to add any additional Pokemon tournaments beyond the ones I'm already running:

@ultimateunowntournament - Currently polling for 3rd place winner with plans to go to 5th place. @regionalpokemontournament - Ongoing @pokemonunderdogtournament - Nominations, will begin after this tournament completes.

While the Underdog Tournament will include many sub-tournaments with many different themes (one of them being Legendaries/Mythicals), it also has a limited contestant pool.

Doing tournaments with all the Pokemon that aren't legendaries would be a large undertaking, and in polling we've seen that a Pokemon being legendary doesn't really give it much of an advantage when it comes to this more popularity-contest style of tournament. A best legendary tournament could be more interesting, but I have no plans to run something like that myself.

And yes, the three legendary birds from the Kanto Region/Generation 1 are Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres (not Zapatos, ahaha, though that is a fun coincidence, since their actual names end in 1, 2, and 3 in Spanish). There's also Mewtwo and Mew.

This protest had solid intent but it's unfortunately really frustrating to read about. The article above does a good job of framing it positively, but most of the articles from more widely-read sources maintain focus on the Gala itself rather than the protest, because of course they fucking do; you are not going to have the reach doing this that you think you are unless you actually make it to the location where the event is held and can disrupt the photos, as we saw success with last week at the White House Correspondents Dinner. The odds of making it to the door without a plan are extremely slim, and sure enough, it did not happen this time. Protesters lingered in Central Park; those who did attempt to march on the Gala were blocked by police at every turn. If you're protesting an event as big as this one, you need a way to get your people to disrupt the event itself. At the bare minimum, you need an extensive network of media contacts pushing pushing pushing this on social media and in the news, or you are going to be drowned out by the spectacle.

I am absolutely not saying Don't Protest At Celebrity Events, but for fuck's sake, part of protesting is pushing your cause higher into the public consciousness and that is not going to happen here and it just drives me up the wall. You have to make sure you have laid the groundwork for your voice to be heard when you do something like this! You're marching against the goddamned Met Gala with no strategy to make you bigger and actually get you to the Met Gala? What?

I dunno. I see what they were trying to do, and it did get some news articles. But it does not seem to have succeeded in generating focus the way it would have if they had, you know, actually made it into the crowd at the door. I'm not reading that they had any plan to that effect and it's just so frustrating.

ANYWAY "nobody better be posting about" etc. etc. without also posting a link to a local bail fund if possible. In this case, that'd probably be the Action Bail Fund, which supports protesters in New York. Bucknell has a multi-state list of bail funds as well, though many of these are cause-specific.
