look I get where you're coming from, and I don't know who else needs to hear this, but I can guarantee that there is no written legal document in any country on Earth dictating that it is illegal to fuck your brother's evil twin lmao

It’s wild running into a mutual again after you’ve changed your name & became a completely different person. I’ve been through entire character arcs since the pandemic started basically! Like hey yes you may or may not remember me but it’s wonderful to see you again! 😸💜

thinking about how in s4 sayid and desmond were stuck on the damb freighter and technically all they had was each other and how desmond managed to keep so much hope within him in the present because of penny (who believed him and didn't give up on him) and sayid was the one who helped desmond connect to her
and how in s6 the thing that snaps sayid out of his weird catatonic state was confronting desmond in the well which turns into desmond confronting him about whether or not what he is doing is worth it
sayid helps desmond become himself again by helping him reconnect with penny—the woman he loves, arguably the only reason that kept him going, the very thing he held onto to keep living. and desmond helps sayid become himself again by helping him realize that even if sayid is able to bring back and be with "the woman he loved", at what cost would that be?

masato/aoki has been a hyperfixation of mine for almost 3 years now unfortunately he's a little worm in my brain slowly killing me off. this is half a response to some asks i've seen, a sort of explanation to aoki looking different to masato (which is definitely nonsensical in ways) may be because he's somewhat healthier than when he was as masato, hence he's not deathly pale, tired looking and a bit of weight gain maybe? (personally love his hamster cheeks as aoki). as a disabled person myself i don't think rgg really thought much through in his disability and the shit it can bring?? hoping yakuza 8 brings more context for him though i doubt it. again unfortunately,,, he's important to me regardless and ngl the hate he gets makes me upset sometimes. like he is definitely awful awful, especially aoki. my autism could write a whole deep dive essay about his character that no one wants to hear lmfao. also your masato art is a joy, just to let you know <3 as a fellow daigo enjoyer,, masadai ex boyfriends is the most valid and superior ship for masato lmao. ty for your service in this fandom 💪
damn im honored to be gettin a letter from THE ceo of ryo aoki themselves.. even if its anonymous ill still frame it on my wall hiii ty for writin <3
BUT YEAH that's what i figured in how drastic masato is from aoki- like his eyes notably lose that dark ring and his skin and lips get more color (tho that could be because he's in the sun more but who's to say it can't be both).
i really REALLY wish RGG wasn't so flippant about his disability, i go insane trying to figure out exactly what it is or what it could be so i can approach it better when portraying him and also just thinking about him. 'weak lung syndrome', surprise surprise, can mean a lot of things
it's already p cringe that they just poof it away with a lung transplant and get rid of it all together in ishin when there was no real reason to have him stand at all. like. he's literally in two scenes, one where he is sitting but the other he's just talking to the air while takechi sits in the room.
never mind im curious if he ever had to deal with his body potentially rejecting the new organ for a bit since that is a very real concern when it comes to organ transplants, but i get not really finding the need to dive into it since that transplant would have been 20 years ago and the chance to talk about it is slim. still, they could have at least give his initial illness a proper name or diagnosis if they were just going to make it disappear literally one chapter later
anyway, ty again for writin !!! i'm happy i can feed the worm that lives in your brain 🥰🥰🥰

And I highly recommend actually reading primary sources instead of combing through wikipedia because literally half of what you said is factually wrong
JSTOR DID NOT HAVE SWARTZ ARRESTED
JSTOR DID NOT CALL THE COPS ON HIM NEITHER DID THEY ENCOURAGE MIT TO DO SO
THEY DID NOT "OVERREACT" TO A "BUMP" - He was downloading so much, so fast the requests were CLOGGING THEIR SERVERS and risking RENDERING THEM INCAPABLE OF OFFERING PROPER SERVICE
JSTOR DID NOT "DECIDE TO PUNISH HIM". THEY LITERALLY ONLY ASKED HE RETURNED THE DATA AND NEVER AT ANY POINT PRESSED ANY CHARGES. They literally dropped the matter entirely after he turned in the data and only cooperated with the prosecutors because they were subpoenaed
THERE WERE NO JSTOR CHARGES TO BE DROPPED IN THE FIRST PLACE
JSTOR DID NOT HAVE SWARTZ ARRESTED OR PRESS CHARGES
THIS IS LITERALLY ALL THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA'S FAULT The case is literally called "United States v. Swartz"
Please for the love of god Swartz is rightfully an icon and deserves to have his legacy respected and remembered and I am completely behind his good intentions but he did it in a way that not only caught JSTOR's attention incredibly fast but also put their infrastructure at risk of being rendered useless to other users which literally gave JSTOR no choice but to investigate? Had he literally put a throttle on the download/request speed it might've even gone unnoticed.
What you said about JSTOR and MIT collaborating and just calling it done???? THAT'S LITERALLY WHAT HAPPENED????? THE INVESTIGATION WAS CONDUCTED INTERNALLY BY JSTOR AND THEY ONLY BROUGHT MIT IN BECAUSE THEY HAD REACHED THE END OF THEIR ROPE AND THEIR SERVERS CONTINUED TO BE STRAINED
You didn't even get the investigation part right they didn't "ask around" they set up a camera to find him out
I am not saying he deserved it, he did not!!!! This man should be alive and well and had a lot to contribute and I fully support the idea that knowledge be free and accessible and think the IP laws in place are bullshit and have to go down, but spreading misinformation and blaming innocent actors instead of THE REAL CULPRIT, THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE PROSECUTORS ORTIZ AND HEYMANN. By not blaming the real culprits you are doing them a favor, but you will get absolutely nothing from blaming JSTOR???
ok so tumblr also really needs this reminder based on some posts ive seen around lately, the "babygirlification" of JSTOR is bad. like Bad Bad. did you all just collectively forget history? did you alll just forget they have blood on their hands? just because they publish science stuff in an ever so slightly more ethical way than springer and are a little silly on social media sometimes? JSTOR killed aaron swartz (wikipedia). in his fight for freedom of information he downloaded papers off of jstor (with acedemic access from MIT) to share and make freely accessible (as all information should be), for this he was charged with wire fraud, computer fraud, unlawfully obtaining information from a protected computer, and recklessly damaging a protected computer. he was facing up to 50 years in prison and a 1 million USD fee for a simple act of downloading files he lawfully had access to. with this court case the US government drove one of the most important online activists and programmers (he is behind so much stuff you all take for granted) into suicide in the name of JSTOR.
JSTOR isn't the cool girl on the block. this isnt a call to boycott them (though please learn how to use things such as sci-hub and fight for open science and freedom of information in general please <3), but please dont glorify them as some sort of cutesy platform.

True, true. Essay time!
For the sake of writing, the offensive part is in how your characters act and react towards your clockable trans person. If they're respectful about it, then everything is fine. It's just realism, at that point, and that sort of positive portrayal might make it a little easier to encounter someone like that in real life.
The same can be said of a visual medium: draw women with adam's apples or slight beard-shadow or strong jawbones, because some of us have those traits, cis and trans alike. Then, someone who's never seen a trans woman before sees your artwork and if they finally do see a trans woman in the wild (or just a cis woman with masculine features), they'll be less taken aback by the fact that some women have adam's apples and/or etc. This is an important part of destigmatization.
Must I, once more, direct our attention to Ticker (Warframe)? She's very masculine, and y'know what? It's not a big deal. Nobody fucks with her. She's unabashedly a woman in spite of the clockability, and that fucks severely. Because it's real. It resonates with people who are like her. It gives them hope that there are people out there who are willing to accept them in spite of it, while simultaneously creating those accepting people in the first place.
As cliché as it is to say, representation matters. Especially when it's realistic and respectful. I remember when I was still cis and transphobic, I absolutely had my world view move slightly to the left when I had to accept that she was a woman and there was no issue with that. And that's pretty impressive given how little dialogue Ticker actually had when she was introduced. Imagine what can be accomplished with an obviously-trans character who's thrust directly into the spotlight as a side-character who is frequently interacted with and maybe even talks about they're experiences! But if we can't have that, just give the women an adam's apple and the men a soft face every now and again. Just for us.
to cis artists, yr allowed to draw trans characters to be clockable, in fact i encourage it. it's not politically incorrect or offensive to depict trans people as being obviously trans, especially if you're drawing cartoons. its not a stereotype a lot of us just look like that

No but what cracks me up about this post is that the op deleted/replaced their post with an image and several links with the funniest display of zero reading comprehension in the tags, presumably because the two (2) people in that reblog chain dared to disagree with them. lmfao
