if you follow me, or simply see this and have 1 free minute, could you read this post please? i'm in desperate need of as many and as varied ideas as possible from different perspectives and people
i cannot bear to stay where i am much longer, living here is killing me from inside, i'm clawing at the walls. i want to move countries, cut ties with almost everyone, have the freedom of marrying anyone i want, adopt, change gender marker, work in a region where my preferred job field is much more progressive and valued, and stop holding myself back from living. i know what country i will move to and which work program i will go through for it. but in order to do that i need savings and money to get shit done like documents and gender affirming stuff. to do that faster i need a job with as high of a pay as i can get. i really want to get the fuck out of here in 6 or 8 months
i want to kindly ask, please if you have an idea of a job that would be a possible fit for my needs, no matter what it is, leave it in replies here or in anons. might be something innovative and unusual, or might be something obvious that i haven't thought of before
further info under the cut
- note, i live in Kazakhstan so almost any eu/us/nz/au jobs are considered high paying to me because of our enormous difference in the currency value. in case of a possibility of remote job done from faraway i can figure out the taxes issue
my skills and characteristics that can be helpful to think of something, but also not limited to those: - fluent in 2 languages (russian and english) - adaptable, very fast learner, good at finding things and doing varied tasks, analytical - fast to make people open up to me, charm them - good at promoting stuff, but it's fully self-learned from experience - good with computer shit, passable in photoshop - conventionally attractive (it has been helpful in all customer service jobs) - almost completed a childcare degree, have all skills that come with handling kids - though i do not have a degree yet. i quit astrophysics major a decade ago and will only finish my bachelors in early childhood education this summer
jobs that i have done before:
- the most successful and longest one: store chain manager where my position combined responsibilities of offline store manager, sales manager and internet store manager. promotion of top-price brands and their growth in popularity, training personnel, working with vip clients, working with suppliers, choosing and purchasing all products, social media advertising, fully taking care of online store too - various sales - real estate agent
jobs i do not consider: - jobs that will require me to go to another country and exchange stuff. i specifically need money so i can do that in the future, and the whole problem is i cannot do that right now without a security blanket to to fall on. or rent funds - childcare jobs (the field is in the ditches here, the aim is to earn money, not put myself into debt) - teaching jobs, same problem - persuading people to buy anything - translating text. i am horrible with written speech, very very poor writer's skills - the kind of customer service where you have to prostrate yourself to customers. i don't have patience to take shit anymore - please don't suggest sugar dating. done that. trauma
i can easily find a job on my own but i wanted to be smarter about it this time and consider everything, use all resources including this blog. if you thought of anything, please tell me

hey! been searching the blog but found nothing- do you have any advice for people wanting to have a cigarette/joint put out on them and/or care afterwards? i know how to treat burns, it’s just preventing lasting or excessive damage i’m worried about.
Hi! Great question.
I'll be the first to admit this isn't my speciality. I'd actually recommend looking online for a class, or even locally but I do have some advice.
If your concern is not treating the burns, but preventing damage, my first advice is to try to keep the burns quick. You want them to be first degree if possible. Those are the easiest to take care of, quickest healing and least likely to cause excessive/lasting damage.
I'd also pick areas with more fat if you can as it helps prevent lasting damage. Keep in mind certain areas scar worse, like the chest (specifically upper), shoulders, joints, and ears. Also avoid around the eyes and be careful of around the groin.
Be careful of how many times you're burnt/burn someone. Just like with any other type of pain play, you want to give yourself/them time so both of you can get used to it and figure out your limits.
I'd also recommend letting burns heal nicely before doing more because if you don't, you can accidently turn a first-degree burn into a second-degree without meaning to. Its also stacking pain on top of pain, which can make it harder to be sure of you/your partner(s) limits.
As always, a good thing to also be aware of is whether you/your partner(s) have any disabilities/health issues because that can affect things like this! (For example, your partner could have asthma; this means you might need to take extra precautions with burning to prevent aggravating their lungs.)
For anyone else wondering, this article has some info on treating things like burns and bruises after scenes.
Hope this helps, Anon! Let me know if you have any other questions. <333

favorite photo of ethel cain. you can only choose one
now why would you say this to me...
if i'm being real, my answer probably changes a lot over time! if i were to choose an all-time favourite, i feel like it has to be one where hayden is in all white in a vaguely pastoral setting because that imagery made me really resonate with the ethel cain project when i first discovered it. it may have to be this shot from briscoe park because it hits the white dress requirement and also reminds me of discovering inbred (ethel cain - inbred (official audio) you will always be famous....)
Tumblr media
name-dropping some additional photoshoots as honourable mentions because i love being too much:
moni haworth for paper magazine – i love when hayden has a boy drag moment, and i love how she looks with a bleached brow
jason nocito for hommegirls – bleached brows! and i love the use of the veil
shots from the punish music video by silken weinberg – i loved the eeriness of the all black veiled figure we first got to see during the childish behaviour tour. it's a throwback to a moment of time for me!
(edit: adding a link to a post that includes the photo if you also love it and want it on your blog in a cuter format than this ask)

Hello, love! I l absolutely adore your blog, I was wondering if you have any tips/notes on writing someone else's biography? In my case, this is a living person I am very close to, but anything would help. Thank you so much!
Writing Notes: Biography
Biography - A detailed third person account of another person’s life story.
Contains basic information about the subject’s life—like their place of birth, education, and interests.
May also chronicle relationships with family members, as well as major events in the subject’s childhood and how those influenced their upbringing.
Details the various accomplishments and life events of a real person, but it’s more than facts and figures—it comes to life with great stories told from beginning to middle to end.
Tips on How to Write a Biography
To write the story of a person’s life, you need to know more than just the basic facts. A good biography delves into what is really interesting about a person’s life—noteworthy achievements, moments of adversity, and major turning points. The best biography can encapsulate a subject’s entire life in an engaging way and provide enough personal details to give the reader an intimate look at their character. If you’re interested in writing a biography, the following steps can get you started:
Get permission. Once you’ve chosen the subject of the biography, seek permission to write about their life. While in some cases it may not be necessary (like if the subject is a public figure or deceased), getting permission will make the research portion of your writing process much easier. If the subject is willing to be biographied, they may provide significant details about their own story up front that will help make your writing about them more compelling.
Do your research. Regardless of how much you know about your subject, an extensive amount of research is necessary to paint a thorough picture of this person. If they’re a historical figure, include information about the time period they lived in and how it affected the way they lived their life. Primary sources are firsthand accounts of your subject’s life and tend to be the most reliable sources. These can include journal entries, emails, interviews, or memoirs. A primary source can also be any other information the subject has provided, such as a personal website, Twitter bio, social media account or professional bio. Secondary sources, like magazines or documentaries, can also be used if the information is proven accurate.
Visit significant places in their life. A place, whether that’s a city, a rural house, or a bodhi tree, can carry a particular energy that you can only truly experience by being there. In putting the pieces together about someone’s life, it may be useful to go visit where they grew up, or where other significant events of their lives happened. It will be easier to imagine what they experienced, and better tell their story.
Form your thesis. Your first paragraph or chapter should inform the reader what they will learn about this person from this biography. A thesis makes a declaration about the biographee which the rest of the biography will provide relevant information to support.
Choose your focus. Knowing how you'd like to divide the story and what points you'd like to discuss will help you determine what information is most important. For example, if the focus of your biography is on someone's service in a war, then you wouldn't need to spend a lot of time on their early career as a salesman, unless that had an impact on their actions during the war.
Make a timeline. A biography usually structures the main points of a person’s life in chronological order. Knowing the order of key events before you start writing can save you the hassle of having to reorganize your whole story later.
Use flashbacks. While writing the text of your biography, you may want to intercut between an experience from your subject’s adult life and one from their high school days. Using flashbacks allows the author to introduce relevant past information to the reader without bogging them down with paragraphs of background exposition.
Include your thoughts. A biography isn’t just a transaction of facts. A biographer can share their own feelings and opinions on their subject’s life. If the subject did something noteworthy, the author may include why they feel that moment was significant, how it was affected by the time period, and what it meant for society as a whole. This will support why this person deserves to be written about and keep the audience reading from the first sentence to the last.
Consider your audience. The key to writing a great biography is really found within this idea: choose facts that are both relevant and interesting to your audience. In order to do this, you should consider why the biography is needed and who will be reading it, then focus on those areas of the person's life that the audience will likely want to know about.
Get feedback and polish the text. If you’re going to publish your own biography, you’ll have to polish it to professional standards. After leaving your work to rest for a while, look at it with fresh eyes and edit your own manuscript eliminating passive voice, filler words, and redundant adverbs. Then, have a professional editor give you a general assessment. They’ll look at the structure and shape of your manuscript and tell you which parts need to be expanded on or cut. As someone who edited and commissioned several biographies, Tom Bromley points out that a professional “will look at the sources used and assess whether they back up the points made, or if more are needed. They would also look for context, and whether or not more background information is needed for the reader to understand the story fully. And they might check your facts, too.” Importantly, make sure to include a bibliography with a list of all the interviews, documents, and sources used in the writing process. You’ll have to compile it according to a manual of style.
Some basic facts about the person:
date and place of birth (and death, if applicable)
current location of residence
educational background
professional experience
area of expertise
major achievements
These elements don’t all have to be included in every bio. Consider what makes the most sense in light of the story of the person the bio is about and the purpose for which the bio is being created. Use that information to determine what parts of a biography need to be included.
In-Depth Information. A few key components you may want to include in a longer biography are:
birth and childhood - Providing details about the time and place someone was raised will give your readers historical context.
adult life - The majority of your biography is probably going to focus on the subject's adult life, when significant events started to unfold. Focus on notable events, such as the start of a relationship, a dramatic life change or another major turning point.
death - If the subject of your story is deceased, you'll probably want to cover the events that unfolded before their passing. What legacy did they leave behind?
interesting facts or anecdotes - Share interesting stories about the individual’s life story, selecting things that will be engaging to readers or particularly relevant to the purpose for which the biography is being written
quotes about the person - If the person has been the subject of articles, books or news stories, consider working in a few quotes illustrating what others have said about the individual.
photograph of the person - Include a photo of the person.
Writing for an Unknown Audience. Of course, you won't always know who your target audience is — if you're writing a book, for example, you can't always tell who will read it. In these cases, it's safe to assume that those who will read the biography are interested in the person, and that's why they're reading.
In such a situation, a good approach is to focus primarily on what makes this person special, and target your research accordingly.
A biography about someone who achieved a great scientific discovery may focus on the person's education and early experiments that led to the great discovery.
It may also talk about how the discovery impacted the person’s life, the lives of others, or the individual’s profession or field of study.
These are the things that people reading about the subject are probably interested in learning.
Examples of Famous Biographies
No Ordinary Time: Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt: The Home Front in World War II by Doris Kearns Goodwin
Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow
Churchill: A Life by Martin Gilbert
Her Own Woman: The Life of Mary Wollstonecraft by Diane Jacobs
Hans Christian Andersen: The Life of a Storyteller by Jackie Wullschlager

Thanks so much for your kind words, you are too lovely! Here are some tips and notes from different sources. Choose which ones are most appropriate for your writing. All the best with the biography!

In all honestly, I don't like the ugly comments and have lost a lot of respect for you because of them. And no, I don't expect you to care about that, but I do expect you to care about why it happened.
Yes, your comments are nowhere near some of the hate that gets thrown around, but they are very similar to the comments about Nicola and Luke "not being attractive enough to be the leads" or about them just being "ugly" in general. So unless you are advocating those comments as well, you are being hypocritical whether you believe it or not, and you shouldn't be surprised that people don't like it. They shouldn't like it. Not because you are insulting Jake - he'll likely never know - but because you are insulting people who have similar features to him or people who do find him attractive. You make it sound like there is something wrong with them. You are insulting anyone who has ever been called ugly and made to feel like they deserve less because of it ("she can do better"). You don't think he's attractive? That's fine. Neither do I, particularly. We all have different tastes. But you make it sound like it's a personal flaw that makes him beneath Nicola.
So, no you are not as bad as the people who have said vile things about Antonia or the people who say these comments directly to their target, but that doesn't give you a free pass to"be a hater too sometimes". You are not bullying anyone, but you are insulting them for no reason other than appearance. We, as a fandom, should be better than this.
I understand your point of view. And well, I never expected people to like the comments, quite the contrary to be honest.
But at some point, I think I’ve figured that being “the better person” than the haters isn’t doing shit so I might as well give those weird Jake fans a taste of their own medicine and just speak my mind. The pettiness came from being tired of Jakolas putting down Luke to glorify a random man who doesn’t even look good enough to evoke such admiration as they seem to treat him with.
It also came from the fact that I’m shook Nicola is with a man like this as yes, she could do much better. Both in terms of looks and status. Age too, really. I don’t know about you but I think many of us had the experience of being disappointed by a man our friends chose to date. This is such a situation for me.
Finally, I don’t really believe in being nice and respectful for the sake of it as this fandom has already shown that’s not enough. Being quiet didn’t work so I might as well allow myself to be petty once a few months on my personal blog. No one else has to like it but my tumblr is a place I’m fully myself. No censorship or unspoken things left.

what a cool idea, thank you for tagging me @tomorrowsgardennc !
🌱 current garden 🌱
what season is it currently? Winter, and Very winter at that. It's still full of snow here, spring is a ways off. Last frost in my area won't be until April 25th
how's the weather been? normal or unusual? This year there hasn't been much snow. We finally got our biggest snowfall this week, which is late for us. Usually we get a few in December/January.
what's growing the most successfully? Nothing right now haha
what's struggling the most? Everything!
any garden animals? :c
how much space are you growing in? When I'm able to put things outside again I have about 2 square feet to plant in (containers) so not much at all, but I can also hang a couple plants on bannisters.
are you happy with that space, or do you want more? I crave more space for sure, but sadly I have only a very small balcony to work with so I'm making the best of it.
✨️ future garden ✨️
what's next on the to-do list for the garden? I'm patiently waiting for March 6th to come along, that's when I'll be planting my tomatoes indoors!
new plants you want to try and grow? This year I'm trying cucumbers for the first time. They're an heirloom variety so I'm hoping they'll do well. Overall, there are a ton of medicinal plants I'd like to try but I'll have to wait until I have the space.
new garden skills you want to learn? It will be my first time starting seeds indoors and transplanting them out, so hoping that goes well!
new tools you need to buy? Fertiliser isn't really a tool I guess but I will need to get some!
📝 dream garden 📝
top of your wishlist? I would love to have a medicinal garden one day. I grow a few herbs currently, but I don't have enough room for them to really thrive (they're just in little pots).
first plant you're buying if you win the lottery? I would buy a TON of native trees and plant them using the Miyawaki method.
if you could change growing zones, which one would it be and why? Honestly I wouldn't, even though the growing season is super short here I have very little heat tolerance lol
what do you want to grow, but can't? why not? I would love to grow ginger and turmeric! I don't have the climate for that unfortunately. I feel like I could figure out a greenhouse situation maybe but I would need the resources.
👀 admit it… 👀
how many spare nursery pots you have: About a dozen lol
how many plants are still in it's original container and need to be planted: All my succulents D:
how many seed packets do you have: At least 20 because I also save my seeds
how many more seeds did you buy this year anyway: only 6, i was very good this year lol
💚 garden favorites 💚
favorite flower plant? I think my favourite right now is Calendula!
favorite vegetable plant? Green beans! They grew so easily last year.
favorite fruit plant? Tomato!
favorite pollinator? Definitely milkweed.
favorite garden noise or texture? When the wind rustles the leaves
favorite gardening book or blog or podcast? Not really gardening more herbalism, but I've been watching a lot of HerbRally lately!
