READ VERSTAPPEN!YN HERE
The neon lights of Las Vegas blurred through as you rushed through the paddock, your heart torn between two directions. Behind you, the thunderous celebration at Red Bull's garage continued – your brother Max had just sealed his fourth world championship. Any other day, you'd be right there, spraying champagne and screaming until your voice gave out.
But right now, all you could think about was Charles.
You found him in the Ferrari cooldown room, still in his race suit, head in his hands. He looked up when you entered, those green eyes stormy with frustration.
"Mon coeur," he whispered, and despite his evident pain, his lips curved into a small smile at the sight of you. "You're here."
You crossed the room quickly, wrapping your arms around him. He buried his face in your neck, breathing deeply. "Of course I'm here. Always."
"I had it," he mumbled against your skin. "I had the pace, the position... everything. Then they called me in at the worst possible moment—" His voice cracked slightly.
You ran your fingers through his hair soothingly. "I know, baby. I watched the whole thing."
Charles pulled back slightly, cupping your face with both hands. "You should be celebrating with Max, though. It's his championship. I don't want to take you away from that."
"You're not taking me anywhere," you said firmly, pressing your forehead to his. "I choose to be here."
He kissed you softly, gratefully. "Je t'aime. What did I do to deserve you?"
"Existed," you smiled against his lips. "Come on, let's get you out of here."
As you were leaving the cooldown room, hand in hand with Charles, you nearly collided with Max in the corridor. Your brother was still in his race suit, championship cap askew, smelling of champagne and victory.
"YN?" His voice was smaller than usual. "Where were you? Everyone was asking... we were all celebrating and you just disappeared."
Guilt twisted in your stomach. "Max, I'm so sorry, I—"
"She was with me," Charles said quietly, squeezing your hand.
Max's face fell slightly, though he tried to hide it. "Oh." He looked between you both, jaw working like he was trying to find the right words. "I thought... it's the championship, YN. Our fourth championship."
"I know," you said, stepping forward to hug him tightly. "And I'm so, so proud of you. You were incredible out there. But Charles needed me."
Max returned the hug, but you could feel the tension in his shoulders. When he pulled back, his expression was complicated – hurt mixed with resignation.
"Sure, whatever. Stay with your boyfriend." He shook his head, jaw clenched. "It's fine. Not like it's my fourth world championship or anything."
The sarcasm in his voice cut deep. Before you could respond, he turned on his heel and walked away, leaving you and Charles standing in the corridor.
The next morning, you found Max in the hotel gym, pounding away at a treadmill despite probably being hungover from the celebrations. You knew your brother well enough to recognize when he was working out his frustrations physically.
"Max," you called out softly.
He didn't look at you, just kept running. "Shouldn't you be with Charles?"
"Can we talk? Please?"
He jabbed at the treadmill controls, slowing to a stop. When he finally turned to face you, his expression was guarded. "About what? About how you ditched your own brother's championship celebration to comfort your boyfriend? Because he finished P4?" He grabbed his towel, wiping his face roughly. "Real nice, sister."
"That's not fair and you know it."
"Kelly already gave me the whole speech last night, you know," he said, "Something about 'understanding love' and 'being supportive' and how she'd do the same for me."
"And?"
"And I told her she's supposed to be on my side," he said, but there was less heat in his voice than before. "She just laughed at me."
You sat down on a nearby bench, and after a moment, he joined you. "I'm still mad," he admitted. "And it's still weird as hell that my sister is dating Charles bloody Leclerc of all people."
"Could be worse," you tried. "Could've been Lewis."
"Don't even joke about that," he groaned, but you caught the tiny smile he tried to hide. His face turned serious again. "Kelly made some good points though. About how she'd choose to be with me if I was struggling after a race, even if it meant missing something important. Still doesn't mean I like it."
"I really am sorry about disappearing like that."
"I wanted my sister there," Max's voice cracked slightly. "You've been there for every important moment in my career. Every single one. Until yesterday. It's like ever since you started dating him, I'm losing my little sister bit by bit."
"You're not losing me, Max. You're my brother, nothing will ever change that. But Charles...I love him."
Max was quiet for a long moment. "You really love him that much? It's that serious?"
"Yeah," you whispered. "It is."
He sighed deeply, running a hand through his hair. "I still don't like it. And I'm still mad about yesterday." He paused, then added grudgingly, "But I guess I need to get used to sharing you. Just... don't disappear on me like that again, okay? I had to listen to Helmut asking if you were sick or something. Do you know how awkward it was explaining that my sister was too busy consoling a Ferrari driver to celebrate with us?"
"Did you actually tell him that?"
"No, I told him you had a headache. You're welcome, by the way." He paused. "But seriously, YN. I get that you love him or whatever—" he made a face at the words, "—but you're still my sister."
"And you're still my annoying big brother," you leaned against his shoulder. "So... fourth championship, huh? Getting a bit boring now, isn't it?"
"Never," he grinned, then added more seriously, "Would've been better with you there though."
"I'll make it up to you. Plus, there's still family dinner tonight."
"Yeah, about that..." Max's expression turned mischievous. "I might have told Mom to make that really spicy Indonesian dish Charles couldn't handle last time."
"Max!"
"What? If he's going to be family, he needs to build up his tolerance," he said innocently. "Besides, it's payback for making me miss my sister at my championship celebration."
"You're impossible."
"Yeah, but I'm a four-time world champion impossible brother," he smirked, pulling you into a headlock like when you were kids. "And don't you forget it."

Drunk temptations - Matt Sturniolo
Re-upload!
Paring: bsf!Matt x drunk! Reader
Contains/warinings: reader is a virgin, dry humping, no p in v, mentions of alcohol and loss of virginity, maybe more stuff...
Summary: You and your best friend Matt are going to a party. You get extremely drunk, and despite your bratty resistance, Matt insists on taking you home. Somehow, you end up on your best friend's lap, kissing him and confessing that you want to lose your virginity to him...
——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————
You and Matt have been best friends for many years now. You’re also friends with his brothers Nick and Chris. Tonight you guys are going to a party. Matt went to pick you up.
Knocks on the door
You quickly went downstairs to open the door with your hair and makeup ready but still in your pijamas.
Laughing, he raises an eyebrow at my pajamas “You’re not ready yet?”
“Sorryyyyy, I just need to get changed and we can go” you explain.
He chuckles. “Alright, but make it quick.”
“Okay okay, come in, I promise.” You say laughing a bit as you two go upstairs to your room. You get in the bathroom and Matt sits down on your bed waiting for you.
He leans back on the bed, looking quite at home in your room as he waits. His eyes roam around, taking in the posters on the walls and the messy piles of clothes scattered about.
You quickly change onto a black mini skirt, a red tight and a little revealing top, some jewelry and a ton of perfume. You take one last glance in the mirror and exit the bathroom. “I’m ready!”
He looks up from where he was lounging on your bed, a slow smile spreading across his face “Whoa, you look amazing tonight.”
You smile at his compliment. “Thank youuu! It’s a new outfit, I bought it today.”
"Oh yeah? I can tell. It looks really good on you." He stands up and walks over, taking a closer look at the outfit. "Hey, is that a new perfume too?" He asks, leaning in to sniff at my neck.
You feel something fluttering in your stomach as he leans in, his hot breath hitting your neck. “What?… oh yeah it’s a new perfume.” You feel your face growing hot and you’re also feeling nervous. But you quickly throw those feelings away, reminding yourself that he’s your best friend.
He pulls back and flashes a grin at your flushed face, noting your reaction yet deciding not to comment on it. Instead, he gestures towards the door. “Shall we, m’lady?” He teases, offering you his arm like a gentleman.
You laugh at his tone and actions. “Always a gentleman, right?” You tease and take his arm.
"Only for you, my lady," Matt replies with a playful smirk. He leads you out of the room and down the hallway, his hand gently patting at yours on his arm.
You laugh and roll your eyes jokingly as you nudge him with your shoulder.
He chuckles and nudges you back, his eyes crinkling at the corners as he smiles. As you guys head down the hallway, Matt can't help but steal glances at you, admiring the way the dim lighting highlights your features and makes the colors of your outfit pop. As you step out into the night air, the cool breeze rustling your hair, Matt can't help but appreciate the way the city lights reflect off the curves of your body. He opens the car door for you, gesturing for you to get in.
“Ooohhh, opening the door and everything.” You say teasingly.
He chuckles and gives a mock bow, "Anything for my queen," he says with a smirk, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he waits for you to get in the car.
You chuckle and roll your eyes. “Ohh shut upppp.”
He laughs, shaking his head as he closes the car door. As he walks around to the driver's side, he can't help but grin at your teasing.
As we drive to the party, the music is playing softly in the background, and Matt can't help but tap his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat. He glances over at you, a sly grin spreading across his face. "So, are you ready to party tonight?"
“Oh I'm definitely ready to get drunk.” You say with a chuckle.
He laughs and shakes his head, "Well, let's make sure you don't do anything too crazy, yeah? I don't want to have to carry you home over my shoulder."
“I won't, don't worry. I just want to have a little fun.” You say.
"Alright, alright, I trust you," he says, still grinning as he pulls up to the party venue. "We’re here."
As you guys walk into the party, you can feel the energy and excitement in the air. The music is loud, and people are dancing and mingling all around. You guys go to say hi to Matt’s brothers Nick and Chris.
After a while you see some of your friends. “I’m gonna go say hi to my friends.” You tell Matt.
"Sure, go ahead. I'll catch up with you later." He says as he watches you walk away, his gaze following you until you disappear into the crowd.
You approach your friends and greet them. Then you all decide to get drinks and dance.
While you're busy having fun, Matt is talking with his brothers and some of their old friends catching up. He occasionally glances over at you, letting out a small chuckle as he sees you dancing and having fun.
As the night goes by you keep ordering more and more drinks, getting yourself drunk.
Matt notices you stumbling around and laughing loudly, and his expression turns from amusement to concern. He excuses himself from his conversation and starts making his way towards you. "I think that's enough drinks for you." he says, as he approaches you.
“Maaatt! Hiii I've missed youuu.” You say slurring your words as you hug him.
He chuckles and hugs you back, holding you steady as you sway slightly. "I've missed you too," he says, his voice low and gentle. "I think you've had a few too many drinks," He says with a chuckle, trying to keep you steady on your feet. “Come on, let’s get you home.”
“Whaaat? Whyyy? I'm having fun.” You whine.
He sighs and wraps his arm around your waist, guiding you towards the exit. "You're slurring your words, stumbling around, and you're not making any sense," he says firmly but gently.
“Noooo I want to stayyy.” You pout.
He gently but firmly continues guiding you towards the exit, his grip steady on your waist. "I know you're having fun, but it's getting late and you're too drunk to handle yourself."
“You’re so boringgg.” You slur out.
He laughs softly and unlocks his car door for you. "I'm not boring, I'm just responsible," he says, helping you into the passenger seat.
“Yeah yeah, same thing.” You say.
He gets in the driver's side and starts the car, keeping a watchful eye on you as he drives. "You know, you're going to regret this hangover in the morning," he says with a smirk, but his tone is soft with concern.
“I had sooo much funnn” you start laughing.
He chuckles and gives you a knowing look. "I can tell," he says.
He pulls into your driveway and turns off the engine, turning to face you with a gentle smile. "We're here," he says, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Time to get you inside and into bed."
“Noooo I don’t wanna go to bed.” You whine.
He laughs softly and shakes his head. "Come on, you'll thank me when you're not suffering with a hangover tomorrow," he says as he carefully gets out of the car and walks around to your side, opening your door and offering his hand to help you out.
He sighs and helps you out of the car anyway, wrapping his arm around your waist to support you as you stumble a bit on the driveway. "Let's get you inside and settled, okay?" he says, leading you towards your front door with a gentle but firm grip.
“Fineeee” you slur out as you roll your eyes.
He chuckles and shakes his head, helping you up the steps and to the front door. "You're going to be a lot of fun to deal with in the morning," he says with a teasing tone, digging out your keys from your purse and unlocking the door. He opens the door and ushers you inside, switching on the light and helping you stumble into the living room. "Sit down," he says, guiding you onto the couch. "I'll get you some water."
He disappears into the kitchen and returns with a glass of water. "Drink up," he says, waiting for you to take a few sips before setting the glass down on the coffee table in front of you. He then plops down beside you on the couch, watching you with a mixture of amusement and concern.
“Thank youu” you say as you lean back.
He smiles and leans back with you, wrapping his arm around your shoulders and pulling you closer to him. "No problem," he says.
You start laughing a little bit remembering things that happened at the party. “I had so much fun tonight, best party ever.” You say, still slurring your words.
He chuckles and pulls you closer, his arm tightening around your shoulders. "Glad you had a good time," he says, his voice low and gentle.
You turn to look at him and realize how close your faces are.
He grins then, his eyes sparkling in the low light of the room. "Yeah, it was a good party," he says, his voice dropping even lower, almost to a whisper. His eyes flick down to your lips before darting back up to your eyes. He swallows thickly and the room suddenly becomes much quieter and more intimate.
You don’t know if it's the alcohol taking over your mind but you want to kiss him really bad. You know it isn’t right because you’re drunk and you guys are best friends, but you can’t stop thinking about it. ‘Fuck it’ your mind says, you lean in and kiss him.
His eyes widen in surprise for a split second, but he doesn't pull back, instead, his lips move against yours, soft and gentle at first, but then deepening into a more passionate kiss. His arm around your shoulders tightens, pulling you closer to him as he angles his head to fit your lips together perfectly.
You keep kissing him, your mouth opening just a nudge letting his tongue in. He responds eagerly to the invitation, his tongue slipping into your mouth tasting the alcohol in your system and tangling with yours in a sinfully good way.
As you get more into the kiss you start to kiss more sloppily and drunkenly. You’re body now controlled by the alcohol and lust moves to sit on his lap straddling him.
He groans into the kiss as you shift to straddle him, his hands immediately moving to grip your hips to steady you. The feel of your heat pressing against him, even through the layers of clothing, sends a jolt of desire straight to his groin. He breaks the kiss long enough to breathe. "God, you're killing me," he mutters, his voice low and husky, his eyes burning with intensity. "Fuck, we shouldn't be doing this," he says, his voice rough with need, even as his hands continue to hold you tight against him.
“Why?” You ask.
Matt's eyes search yours, a mix of conflict and longing evident in their dark depths. "Because this isn't right, not like this," he says, his breath coming in short gasps as he fights to maintain control. "You're drunk off your ass, and I shouldn't take advantage of that." He hesitates for a moment, his eyes searching yours before he admits, "And we're best friends, and this could change everything between us." His grip on you tightens as if he's trying to hold onto the friendship despite the heat building between you two.
“But I want to.” You say kissing him again and ignoring his words.
He groans into the kiss, his resolve crumbling under your persistence and the intoxicating effect of your body pressed so intimately against his. "Fuck, you're making this hard," he pulls back. “We can’t do this.”
“Please.” You whine as you start to kiss his neck.
His hands grip your hips, his breath hitching as you trail kisses along his neck. "Fuck," he swears, his grip tightening as he resists the temptation you present. "You're killing me, Y/n."
“Please Matt, I- I want you to be my first.” You whisper.
His whole body stiffens at your words, his hands gripping you harder for a moment before releasing you, he looks at you with eyes full of surprise and a mix of emotions. "Shit, y/n," he mutters. His hands move to cup your face, making you look at him.
“Please Matt, take my virginity away. I'm ready.” You look at him with doe eyes filled with lust and a little red from the alcohol.
"No, y/n, you're drunk and I don't want to take advantage of that," he says, his voice strained. He looks at you with a mix of desire and guilt, his hands still cupping your face gently. "We've been friends for so long, and this could change everything.
“You’re the person I trust the most, I want it to be you.”
"God, y/n, you're killing me. I want this, I want you so bad, but I can't just take your virginity while you're in this state," he says, his voice rough with need. He takes a deep breath, trying to compose himself.
You ignore his words and start kissing him again.
He hesitates for a moment, then relents, his hands moving from your face to your hips as he deepens the kiss. But after a few moments, he pulls back again, trying to break the kiss. "Y/n, we can't do this."
“mmh please Matt” you whimper and kiss him again.
He groans, his resolve weakening as he feels you pressing against him. "Y/n, no," he says, but his voice is weaker this time, and it's clear that he's struggling to resist.
You continue kissing him but this time your hips start to grind against him. “Mmh” you moan.
He hisses through clenched teeth, his hips bucking up to meet your grinding motions. "Fuck, y/n, stop," he growls, but his words lack conviction. His hands slide down to grip your ass, pulling you harder against him as he rocks his own hips up in response to yours.
“Mmh Matt feels so good” you whimper against his lips.
He lets out a tortured groan, his body trembling with restraint as he tries to hold back. "Y/n, please...I don't want to hurt you," he whispers, his voice barely audible over the sound of his own ragged breathing.
“Matt I need you” you let out as you keep kissing and grinding him. Your hands move to remove your top, revealing your lace black bra.
His eyes widen at the sight of your bra, and he swears under his breath as he tries to fight his growing arousal. "Y/n, we can't," he repeats, his voice hoarse with desire.
You start kissing his neck again.
He groans, tilting his head to give you better access to his neck as his hands move up to cup your breasts through the fabric of your bra. "Fuck... You're killing me,"
You grab his hands and lead them to your back where the clip for your bra is.
“Stop this," he says firmly, though there's a strained edge to his voice. His hands remain frozen on your back, the clip of your bra still untouched. "Y/n, no. We can't. You're too drunk, I won't take your virginity like this." He pushes his hands away from the clasp of her bra, his own breathing heavy and ragged as he struggles to maintain his composure. “This has already gone too far.”
"No buts, y/n. We can't do this right now. It's not right." He says firmly, still holding onto his composure even as his body is begging for release from the arousal coursing through him. "I care about you too much to take advantage of you in this state.” He takes a deep breath and stands up, pulling away from you completely.
"Y/n, let's... let's get you to bed," he says, his voice calm but strained. He offers you a hand to help you up, his eyes never leaving yours as if gauging your reaction.
You don't say anything, just take his hand and follow him to your room.
He watches out for you as you move to your room, ensuring you don't stumble and hurt yourself in your inebriated state. Once inside, he guides you to the bed, sitting you down gently on the edge.
He gives you a big t -shirt big enough to cover up your knees. So you put it on and take your skirt off and sit on the bed again. He kneels down in front of you, pulling off your heels and placing them beside the bed.
"There, that's better, right?" He says, looking up at you with concern etched into his features. He really cares about you, more than he wants to admit. He gently pushes you back onto the bed, helping you lay down, making sure you're covered up before he stands back up.
“Good night” you slur out and quickly doze off.
He watches you for a moment, a soft smile on his face as he sees the exhaustion and alcohol finally catch up to you. He nods to himself, satisfied that you're safe and comfortable, before turning to leave the room. He quietly closes your bedroom door behind him, the soft click echoing in the silence of the house. Taking a deep breath, he tries to calm the storm of emotions and desire that still rages within him. He knows he did the right thing, protecting you from a mistake you wouldn't remember.

pairing/warnings: 6.4k,, sunghoon x f!reader, brothers best friend, smut, jake and his sister are lowkey spoilt children!!
a/n: my og bias!!! i love sunghoon so so much omg, literally the prettiest boy ever.. hope i did him justice with this trope cause school is kicking my butt😓
masterlist
It wasn’t a secret to say that you wanted your brothers best friend.
You remember the day that Jake brought him over to your house. He was skinny and awkward looking but Jake, the ever-giving saviour, took him under his wing.
Sunghoon truly was innocent before he met Jake. Your brother corrupted him, turning him into a carbon copy of himself.
One time you asked him if he ever missed his old self and he responded harshly asking if you were crazy. Who knew that adopting a fuck boy persona could change a person so drastically..
Sunghoon was over at your house constantly, after school every day, every weekend, every holiday. You were convinced he didn’t ever spend a dinner at his own house.
At first it annoyed you because having two Jake’s at home wasn’t very appealing, but you knew that there was still a part of the old Sunghoon, deep, inside his now cold heart.
Your senior year was an absolute whirlwind, no annoying Jake to pester you and complain about your outfits, no claims that you were slutting yourself out to get the attention of his friends, no Sunghoon.
You didn’t really miss Jake’s presence while he was at university but you truly did miss Sunghoon.
Maybe that’s why you began to act out, screaming at him when he spilt milk down your top (you’d pushed him), calling him every name under the sun and ultimately teasing him relentlessly.
Jake pretended to be oblivious, ignoring your shouting as he focused on the video game in front of him.
He wanted to enjoy his summer, not deal with your new excessive stress reliever.
When he heard Sunghoon start screaming back at you, he got up with a loud groan.
He grabbed your arm, dragging you away from the kitchen.
“What the fuck are you doing?” he glared.
“He spilt milk onto-”
Jake was seething.
“Shut it.” he threatened. “Stop messing with Hoon and go clean up your mess. Dinner will be ready in 40.”
You grumbled under your breath as you stormed up the stairs.
Your parents were on yet another trip, claiming that they needed another break.
They had terrible timing as the day after they left, the shower in your en-suite broke.
You stomped your way over to the main bathroom on Jake’s floor, still jealous at the fact that they built the whole third floor for him and him only and that he had the shower with the best pressure.
Sulking, you peeled your clothes off and hopped into the shower, letting the hot water pierce your skin. Annoyed thoughts slowly trickled out as you scrubbed the milky scent away.
Not keeping track of time, you grabbed a fresh towel off Jake’s stack and wrapped your body.
As you opened the door, Sunghoon seemed to be reaching for the handle, about to open it.
“Sorry.” he grumbled. “I didn’t know you were in there.”
He waited expectantly for you to move out of the doorway but instead watched as you followed his every attempt to walk past you.
“I need to fucking pee, can you get out the way.” he groaned.
“Oh come onnnn, Sunghoon.” you shook your head. “Can’t I have a little fun?”
You dropped your towel at the last word, feigning shock at your actions.
Sunghoon immediately covered his eyes taking steps back.
“What the fuck is wrong with you!” he screamed blushing heavily.
“It was an accident!” you screamed back wrapping your body.
“Yn!” Jake shouts from downstairs.
You ran down the stairs, narrowly missing Jake as you launched yourself into your room and locked the door.
With a laugh you got dressed, calling your best friend as you dried your hair at the messy vanity in your room.
“So.. you’re telling me that you purposely let go of your towel to get a reaction out of him.” Sunoo laughed.
You hummed confidently.
“You’re such a freak, yn.”
“You say that like you don’t already know.” you joked.
“No trust me, I know.” he rolled his eyes.
Yes, you had slept with your best friend a few times, but he had a dick and you wanted experience, so who better to trust than him?
“Well I gotta go, Jakey said dinner would be ready agessss ago.” you laughed. “Bye Noo, love you.”
“Love you more.” he blew you a kiss before ending the call.
You calmly made your way to the dinning room and sat in the seat that Jake had set up for you.
“Ramen, again?” you groaned. “How did it take you so long to make this…?”
Jake shot a deadly glare your way.
“If you want to complain about my specialty why don’t you make dinner tomorrow.”
“Gladly.” you accepted.
Sunghoon was silent the whole time you all ate.
Jake waffled on to him but he kept his head down, feeling the pressure of your stare.
You raised a leg onto his, testing the waters before you raised your foot slowly, letting it make its way further up.
“I can’t do this!” he shouted grasping his head.
“Huh?” Jake was confused, scrambling after Sunghoon as he put his shoes on, your own legs following after him.
“Hoon! You said you were staying over!” he complained.
“Yeah, Hoon!” you mockingly whined.
Sunghoon shoved past you.
“I’ll be back tomorrow.”
He snatched his car keys from the living room table and slammed the door behind himself.
“Wonder why he’s in a fucking mood.” Jake grumbled.
“Let’s just go eat..” you pushed him back to the table, hearing Sunghoon speed away.
~
Sunghoon kept his promise, returning the next day bright and early but camped out in Jake’s room the whole day.
Ear on the door, you heard him say “So, is Yn gonna stay away…”
“You know,” Jake trailed off. “Heeseung was over the other day and she didn’t act like that so I just think she hates you.”
“There’s a big difference between hate and lust.” Sunghoon shook his head.
“Ew! That’s my sister.” Jake gagged. “I truly don’t think she wants to fuck you.”
You sighed at how wrong he was, mentally giving him points for the protective act.
“Right.” Sunghoon rolled his eyes. “Not like i’d want to hit anyways.”
“Doesn’t matter. She’s still off limits, don’t try it.” Jake firmly said.
You heard them both shift around and out of the fear of getting caught you knocked on the door.
Sunghoon opened it, glaring down at you.
“What do you want?”
Your palms pushed his chest away from your intended path. Taking note of the fact that he was a lot more muscular than the previous summer.
“I’m not here for you,” you grumbled.
Jake tilted his head as if to ask you what Sunghoon had already said.
“I’m going shopping, gonna take your car because I’m outta fuel.”
“You can’t just take my car, let’s take yours and fill it up.”
“Let’s..?” Sunghoon grumbled.
“I have no money.” you lied.
“How’d you already finish your allowance?” Jake shook his head. “What was the plan when paying for the shopping?”
“Dad’s card.”
Jake hesitated before agreeing. “We’re all going, in my car.”
“I’m driving!” you ran out of the room, Jake following behind you as you raced to get the keys.
Sunghoon was in agony, sulking in the back seat as you and Jake argued over what songs should be played next in the cue.
“Siri, play Stay by Rihanna please.” Jake grinned in satisfaction as the song blasted through his car.
“Fuck you, I want Sticky! Siri play Sticky by Tyler the Creator.” you grumbled as his assistant didn’t listen to your voice and instead chose to snatch his phone and type it in.
The anger in his gut was slowly building up.
“Fuck! Yn keep your eyes on the fucking road, it’s a green light!” He shouted.
Both you and Jake jumped in fear.
Fingers shifting gears and feet pushing down on the pedals, you whipped into shape at the awareness of your surroundings.
“Jeez, Hoon.” Jake checked his ears for blood.
The rest of the ride was absolute silent, bar the music playing, you and Jake didn’t dare to speak up.
Sunghoon jumped out at the first opportunity, storming away with the shopping list leaving the two of you to trail after him like kicked puppies.
“I’ll go get the steak, it’s best from the butchers market down the road.” Jake pulled you in before he left. “Don’t do anything i wouldn’t..”
You nodded, giving him the sweetest smile.
He shook his head, pulling you in for a hug. You felt his lips place a peck on the top of your head.
“No funny business.” he threatened Sunghoon who grumbled in response.
“Sooo…” you dragged on. “Now that Jake’s gone- Hey! Don’t walk away while I’m speaking to you!”
The rest of the shopping trip was quite annoying.
All of your attempts to have Sunghoon squirming failed, he was blatantly ignoring your presence.
“Uh.. what’s Foie Gras?”
You giggled at his butchered attempt of pronouncing the item.
“Fattened duck liver.”
He physically recoiled. “Why would anyone wanna eat that.. ew.”
“It’s good, you’ll like it.” you persisted, leading him towards the correct aisle. “Sunoo??”
Your best friend stopped looking for salmon and embraced your hug.
His hands gripped your waist as you snuggled into his neck.
“Here with your new boy toy?” he laughed, pulling away from the heat of your body.
“I’m Sunghoon, nice to meet you.” the older boy leaned over you, holding a hand out for Sunoo to shake.
Sunoo gripped it firmly, greeting him with a smug grin.
“I’ve heard about you.”
“Good things I hope..”
“Well…” Sunoo laughed.
You pulled their hands apart, choosing to get all up in Sunoo’s personal space.
“Noo, are you coming to Heeseung’s party?” you poked his toned chest.
“Of course,” he grabbed your finger, the end of his sentence coming out as a whisper. “Kazhua told me that Yujin’s gonna be there as his plus one.”
It had been 3 weeks since you stopped talking to your friend Yujin after finding out that she’d slept with Sunghoon despite knowing that you had dibs on him.
Your expression immediately turned sour, very close to acting on the urge to drop kick Sunghoon then and there.
He’d always claimed that you were too young for him, despite there only being a years difference between the two of you, but then went behind your back and slept with a friend of the same age.
“You should see the look on his face right now.” Sunoo leant in closer, “He’s seething watching me get close to you. What a freak.”
Mood dissipating as an idea popped into your head, you took Sunoo’s hands and placed them on your ass. Letting him shamelessly grope you in public.
“Don’t be mean, I like that he’s kinda desperate sometimes.” you laughed.
Sunghoon fought to rip his vision away from you and your friend, slowly gaining the courage to grab the Foie Gras before storming over to you and yanking you away from Sunoo.
“Hey! I didn’t even say bye.” you turned your body to wave at your friend in response to the wink he sent you.
You watched in bewilderment as Sunghoon slammed the basket items onto the conveyor belt, scaring the cashier.
He whipped his wallet out of his pocket and took a card out to pay.
“You don’t have to do that..” you looked away in embarrassment.
You knew that Sunghoon wasn’t as well off as people like you and Jake. Taking up a summer job just to keep up with the lifestyle.
“Well Jake took your dad’s card, so unless you want to return all this, i’ll pay.” he pressed his lips together tightly.
The lack of refusal on your part led him to tap his card onto the scanner.
Watching him wince at the high transaction go through had you clenching your thighs together. You couldn’t tell if the hormones rose from Sunoo or Sunghoon but you didn’t really care.
He bagged the shopping and walked off to the car, not even bothering to look back at you.
Once the bags were in the boot you stood outside waiting for Jake.
“Jake wouldn’t have liked that.”
“Jake or you?” you rolled your eyes. “Sunoo’s my best friend.”
“So you just let your best friends fondle your ass in public?” he scoffed in disbelief. “Hee was right, you really are a slut.”
“Excuse me!”
You both turned to see an elderly lady coming over.
“Please could you help me load my shopping into the taxi?” she pleaded.
“Of course!” you beamed pushing down your anger with a gentle laugh.
Your parents had raised you right in some ways.
Sunghoon followed after you, keeping himself surprisingly close to your moving figure.
You both helped the lady transfer her bags from the trolley to the car, nodding with respect at her praise.
“What a cute couple, thank you for helping me.” she beamed, waving as she got into the passenger seat.
One look at Sunghoon’s face and you could tell he was torn between annoyance and embarrassment.
“Where the fuck is Jake?”
As if on cue Jake showed up.
You wiped your thumb at the lip stain on his cheek.
“You’re so nasty.”
He held a finger up to his lips before wrapping one arm around Sunghoon and the other around you.
“Sooo what did I miss?”
~
“PartyNextDoor? Really?” Sunghoon muttered walking into the dimly lit kitchen. It was clear that you were trying to set the mood.
Jake had sent him to help you out of fear that you’d burn something while he stepped out to meet some girl.
“He makes good music.” you shrugged seemingly unaffected by the lewd lyrics. “Aren’t you here to help?”
He nodded.
“Load the pasta into the oven dish, please.” you instructed. “Then put cheese on top.”
Sunghoon picked up the cheese block.
“Where’s the cheese grater?”
You told him that you’d get it, purposely bending over in your miniskirt so that he’d get an eyeful of the way your panties clung to your puffy folds.
“Oh… got it.”
Turning around you saw that Sunghoon was clearly distressed, pinching the top of his nose bridge.
You passed the grater over, internally laughing at the way his body jolted when your hand brushed against his.
“Aww Hoonie..” you pouted. “Do you want my help?”
Not even waiting for a response, you squeezed his crotch.
A low groan left his throat watching you drop to your knees with his trousers and boxers.
You impatiently began to suck him off, revelling in the fact that his cock was just as pretty as him.
Sunghoon’s head fell back, knuckles paling at the pressure of him gripping the counter.
“That feels so good.” he praised.
Sunghoon was big, too big even.
You swirled your fist at the parts you couldn’t reach and suckled on his tip, the praise doing something to you. Spurring you on to make him feel good.
“You shouldn’t be doing this.” he moaned.
“But you like it.” you sat back onto your knees.
Something about the look in your eyes had him whimpering.
“I knew the old you was in there somewhere!” your smile widened as you took him into your mouth again.
“Why are you still on that?” he seethed.
His long fingers scratched at your scalp, guiding your head off and on him. The vibrations of your gags had his knees buckling.
Sunghoon experimentally pushed your head fully onto his length. Your nose begged for air, buried in his abdomen and your throat constricted, feeling his dick push past your uvula.
“Come on, yn.” he coaxed. “Take it all.”
Tears streamed down your face, drool seeping out of the corners of your mouth.
“I’m so close, keep your throat open.” he groaned.
“Yn!” Jake shouted from the front door.
You slid off Sunghoon with a cough, scrambling to grab a tissue, wiping your tears and drool away as he pulled up his pants before running to the downstairs bathroom.
“Is dinner ready?” Jake asked poking his head into the kitchen.
“Just need to put it in the oven.” you croaked out.
“Cool, gonna play a game! Send Hoon my way when he comes back..”
Dinner was just like the day before except this time you and Sunghoon both couldn’t make eye contact yet Jake still waffled on.
The air felt thick even for you, trying your hardest to give Jake enthusiastic answers so he wouldn’t suspect anything.
You jumped up and down in happiness when he told you that he would clean the dishes so you could relax, dashing up to your room to get rid of your own problem.
The next few hours passed by rapidly as you tried time and time again to get yourself off, still throbbing from having Sunghoon in your mouth, but nothing was working.
“Ugh!” a quiet groan left your throat.
Your hands reached for the phone on your bedside table immediately clicking on Sunoo’s contact.
You: fuck i’m so horny
You: tried getting off but it won’t work
Sunoo: u want me to come over ??
You contemplated taking up his offer.
You: that’d take too long
Sunoo: is park over ??
You: yh.. i uh kinda sucked him off earlier
Sunoo: yeah I am NOT contracting an std
You: fuck you 😭😭😭
Sunoo: js send him a nude?? or smth 🫡
You: UGH ILY THANKS
You slipped on a thin nightgown, purposely pushing your chest upwards letting your hardened nipples peek through, taking a picture then taking another of your dripping pussy.
Fingers swiftly moving onto his contact, you pressed on the chat.
[1,000 from yn💋]
Sunghoon: so you had money the whole time..
Yn: [2 pictures attached] can you help me…?
seen
Sunghoon wasted no time in stumbling over to your room. Sending explicit pictures to him while he was staying in your brothers room was very insane.
He didn’t even knock on the door, storming in them locking it quietly after he got in.
“You can’t keep doing this.” he shook his head.
You gave him the best innocent look you could muster.
“Do what? What did I do, Hoonie?”
He ran a hand down his face, immediately losing all composure.
“Stand up.” he demanded.
You complied immediately. Yes, Sunghoon had shown his anger through badly timed outbursts but in that moment he seemed furious.
“You can’t keep trying to make me jealous.” he continued. “You don’t understand!”
“But-”
“You’re all I can think about anymore. I wake up and you’re there, I go to sleep and you’re in my dreams!” he whisper shouted, clearly being tormented by his own thoughts. “Sometimes I just can’t stand you but being away from you was absolute hell for me. Trust me, I am also trying to understand how this shit happened.”
“Hoon-”
“Please.” he begged. “Please just let me finish.”
He took a step forward, cradling your head in his hands.
“For years, I have been infatuated with you. Forced to watch from a distance so that I wouldn’t lose you and Jake.” he shook his head. “There really isn’t anything that I wouldn’t do for you. I..”
You placed your hands on top of his significantly larger ones.
“Hoon, what are you trying to say?” you pushed.
He closed his eyes in pain.
“Don’t make me say it.” he frowned. “If I say it, we can’t go back to how we were.”
“I think I love you.” you teared up.
His head whipped up. “What?”
“Sunghoon, I love you.” you repeated firmly.
You’d always wanted Sunghoon since the day you laid eyes on him, but his words put a new perspective into your head. Is this why you were jealous of anyone that got close to him? Is it why you very harshly cut off Yujin? Is it why you felt butterflies every time he was around?
You had let your lust cloud your original feelings for Sunghoon, letting him believe that you only wanted him for sex because you knew that you could never have him romantically.
Sunghoon truly was out of your league. He was genuinely kind and a respcted person. He was everything that you couldn’t be. But none of that mattered when he pressed his lips against yours.
Pent up emotions of the past 10 years released as you kissed back just as passionately. Kissing Sunghoon with as much angst and love as he gave.
You never ever opened your eyes while kissing someone else, but you peeked an eye open to see what he looked like up close.
The perfect mole on his nose, his thick furrowed brows and perfect hair.
He kept his eyes closed for a few moments after you pulled away, taking in the feeling.
“Hoonie.” you called out. “I want you.”
Sunghoon complied, throwing you onto your bed and getting comfortable between your legs.
You attached your lips onto his as he rutted his hips against your warm heat.
From when you sucked him off earlier you already knew he was big, but feeling his so close had you gasping.
“Shhh.” he whispered. “Keep it quiet baby, we can’t let Jake hear.”
Shit. Jake. You hoped that he just wouldn’t wake up or else you’d both be out the house till your parents came back.
Your head bobbled in response.
“Sunghoon,” you moaned. “I don’t think I can wait any longer.”
Hearing you moan his name had his pushing a particularly harsh thrust into you.
“Fuck. Where do you keep the condoms?”
He got off you briefly, taking the time to strip himself as you bent to reach into your desk drawer.
You jolted forwards as his palm made contact with your ass, impatiently begging you to hurry up.
Letting him roll the plastic on while you stripped down had you feeling a little scared. Being naked under his watchful eye was nothing like sending him a nude because you had to witness his reaction firsthand.
“You’re so beautiful.” he repeated, kissing up and down your body.
“Sunghoon please.” you whined.
Pushing your legs into your body, he lined himself up.
“Tell me if it hurts and I’ll stop, okay.” he nodded.
You wrapped a leg around his waist, pushing him into you, drooling at the delicious stretch he gave you.
“Fuck, I can’t.” he groaned into your neck, lapping at your skin, flicking his tongue onto the bruises he formed. “Your legs are shaking so much.”
He wasn’t wrong, this was the fastest you’d ever come close to orgasming instantly and he hadn’t even moved yet.
Two thrusts in and you were clamping down on his dick, mouth covered to muffle the string of moans leaving your throat.
“Oh my, I’m cumming. Fuck.” Sunghoon twitched as he groaned lowly in your ear. “Pussy so good, tight, fuck! I’ve never come this fast.”
You didn’t know if he was talking out of his ass but the fact that he wasn’t ashamed did things to you.
Once you’d both recovered, you realised he was still fully hard and that turned you on even more.
“I want more.” you begged. “Please give me more.”
“Fuck. You’re so hot.” he groped at your chest. “Where do you want me?”
You guided him to lie down near your pillows, discarding the condom before hovering your dripping core over his length.
“I want you raw.” you whined. “I’m on the pill, please.”
Sunghoon closed his eyes again.
“Please.” he begged. “Shit. Never thought i’d hear you say that.”
Your legs burned as you sat down feeling the burn ten times more in the new position.
“You’re so big, so big Hoonie.” you babbled.
He could see that you were struggling to bounce yourself so he sat up and guided your hips in time with his thrusts.
“Do you feel me here, baby?” he pressed the spot where his tip poked into your your lower abdomen, both moaning at the feeling.
“Fuck, Sunghoon, I can’t.” you cried.
This time around it felt so much more intense, the intimacy was off the charts as he forced you to look into his eyes. Tears were fully streaming down your face at the overwhelming pleasure.
“Don’t you wanna make me proud?” he frowned. “Doesn’t my little slut want me to fill her up? Give her my baby?”
His words had you moaning louder and louder causing him to kiss away the noise.
He smacked your ass harshly.
“Quiet pretty, you don’t want Jake to hear? Do you?” he growled.
You shook your head, falling into his embrace.
The squelch of your juices and the repeated slam of the bed against the wall made you realise that Jake probably already knew what was going on.
Your teeth dug into Sunghoon’s shoulder determined to keep quiet.
“I’m so close..” you sobbed. “Please can I cum?”
He lifted your head, forcing you to look at him.
“Of course, baby.” he groaned. “Let go for me.”
Your eyes rolled back, body going limp as the orgasm ran through you.
Sunghoon came after a few thrusts, filling you up to the brim.
He rubbed your back, waiting for you to come back to him.
But you just couldn’t stop crying, tears rolling down his collarbone.
“Yn?” he inspected your face. “What’s wrong?”
“I’m sorry.” you sobbed, palms digging into your eyes. “Sorry that I was so mean to you just because I couldn’t control my feelings.”
He clicked his tongue, fingers tracing up and down your arms to soothe you.
“It’s not like I was an angel either.” he sighed. “I didn’t mean to make you feel like you couldn’t come to me.”
His lips pressed a soft kiss to your temple, bringing you into his embrace.
“I love you, Yn.” he whispered. “I think I always have.”
You gripped onto him a little tighter at his words, checking to see if the moment was real.
“Can you stay here?” you looked up at him with glassy eyes. “Please. I know that Jake-”
“Yeah, of course.” he relaxed. “I’m not gonna leave you.”
~
Over the next few days, you and Sunghoon had fucked like rabbits. Nowhere was safe, not your dad’s office, the living room, dining room, Jake’s bathroom, the outdoor AND indoor pool, even Sunghoon’s own room had been attacked.
You’d almost been caught by Jake on a few occasions but he still seemed to be oblivious. He didn’t even notice when Sunghoon fingered you under the table at a very public restaurant.
Maybe he was pretending, you just didn’t care. Sunghoon was way too good to give up, even for your beloved brother.
Now it was the night of Heeseung’s birthday party.
You hadn’t seen Sunghoon since he left your room that morning to go shopping with Jake and you were experiencing withdrawals.
The two of you had spoken about boundaries, with the impending doom of your parents coming back the next day but for now you wanted to have him as much as you could.
“So, you’re telling me that while I was on the phone with you, he was quite literally eating your out?” Kazhua grimaced. “You two are perfect for each other.”
You laughed swatting at her arm in fake offence.
“Uh oh….” Sunoo pursed his lips.
The three of you looked in the direction he was facing, watching as Yujin felt up and down Sunghoon’s buff arms, Jake and Heeseung looking away awkwardly.
“Yn! Wait!” Kazhua called after you but you were already storming over.
You pushed Yujin out of the way causing her to stumble and placed yourself in front of Sunghoon.
“Woah, Yn..” Jake laughed.
“Can we talk?” you asked Sunghoon.
“Well.. I’m with my friends right now..”
You forcefully grabbed his arm, dragging him outside not stopping till you got to his car.
The cold summer breeze nipped your shoulders, sending shivers down your spine.
“What the fuck is your problem?” you seethed. “Letting her touch all up on you when you know how I feel!”
Sunghoon just leant forward and kissed you.
You pushed him away, flustered.
“Hey!” you whisper shouted. “What if Jake just came outside right now?!”
“Shhh..” he laughed. “Come here then.”
He pulled his keys out of his pocket, and got into the drivers seat, patting his lap.
If you had checked your surroundings before you hesitantly got in then you would’ve noticed Riki, your brothers minion, dashing off to find Jake.
Sunghoon pushed your hips down onto his so you could feel him.
“This is how you make me feel.” he moaned, brushing your hair out of your face.
“Fuck.” you moaned. “I’m still mad at you though.”
“Take it out on me, pretty.”
Your lips attacked his neck, leaving as many marks as possible, you wanted everyone to see that Sunghoon was clearly taken.
He pulled his dick out of his pants, rubbing it along the slick of your panties.
You smacked his hand away, pulled your panties to the side and suck down onto him by guiding yourself.
Tears threatened to spill, body already covered in a thin layer of sweat.
Sunghoon wrapped his arms around your waist, thrusting up into you rapidly.
The whole car shook while the windows fogged up.
“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Hoonie, faster please!” you moaned.
“You think you can run your mouth whenever you feel like it, huh pretty?” he seemed to go even faster.
“I’m sorry!” you cried, nails digging into his biceps for stability.
“Oh you’re sorry? Prove it.” he growled. “Scream my name.”
“Hoon.” you whimpered. “That’s too risky.”
“Hm.. that’s not what I asked.” he rubbed circles on your clit, going even deeper than before. “I know that you can be louder than that.”
Having him hit the spot time and time again was sending you over the edge, you lost all composure the second he started sucking on your sweet spot.
“Sunghoon, fuck. Ah, right there! Fuck Daddy, please go faster!” you screamed out.
“Daddy, huh?” he groaned. “Gonna make you feel so good princess.”
You cried out as he continued to thrust into you at a faster pace, skin slapping erotically.
“I’m gonna-”
He told you it was okay to let go.
“Fuck, look how much you came for me.” he moaned in admiration, feeling true bliss as your essence leaked down to his balls. “So good for me, baby.”
Static filled your ears as he came inside you, waves of fire burining through your limbs.
Sunghoon’s head hit the headrest and you slumped onto his body.
His fingers scratched at your scalp soothing you.
“Will you be my girlfriend?” he asked softly.
You nodded, too tired to respond.
“I need you to use your words, princess..”
Your lips pressed light kisses on his neck.
“I’d love to.” you sighed contentedly. “Can we stay like this for a bit?”
You felt him nod, head falling on top of yours.
Sleep almost overtook you but a knock on the window woke you right up.
“Sunghoooon.” Jake sang.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck!” he whispered.
You immediately shot up, looking for something to cover your face.
“One second.” Sunghoon shouted back.
He gave you his jacket so that Jake wouldn’t notice your outfit as you slipped on a cap from the car and faced the other way.
“Can we talk through the window?” Sunghoon asked nervously.
“No…” Jake groaned. “Open it.”
Sunghoon reluctantly pushed the button, internally cursing when Jake claimed he’d been hit by a whiff of sex.
“What’s up, Jake. I’m kinda busy.”
“Yeah.. I can see.” he gestured towards you, believing that you were just some random Sunghoon decided to fuck. “Have you seen my sister?”
He felt you tense beneath him.
“Um.. no.” Sunghoon shrugged. “I haven’t seen your sister.”
Riki walked out from behind Jake.
“He’s lying!” Riki shook his head. “That’s your sister, right there!”
Jake looked at him in disbelief, finally noticing that the girls hair looked a lot like yours.
Sunghoon tried to swat his hand away when he reached in to take your hat but failed miserably.
“Oh my…” Jake stumbled back.
Your head slowly turned to face him, a sheepish smile on your face.
“Hey, Jakey.”
“Oh my.”
He tried to grab you and pull you out of the car but the loudest whine left your mouth.
“You’re balls deep in my SISTER?!” Jake was furious. “My sister? My little sister!”
The two of you flinched.
“Fucking hell, Sunghoon! You could’ve had anyone else! She’s off limits!” Jake frowned. “Forbidden even!”
“Jake you don’t need to-” you started.
“You shut it.” he shook his head. “Both of you get decent and get out.”
Sunghoon rolled the window up so you could have privacy as you lifted your body off his, cum spilling out while he cleaned you up.
“Riks you can go now.” Jake dismissed the boy who had a smirk on his face.
You and Sunghoon stood infront of Jake, silently taking the verbal beating.
“We’re going home now.”
“I’ll drop her off.” Sunghoon stood his ground.
You pleaded with your eyes to get Jake to agree.
“Fine.”
You couldn’t help but laugh on the drive home.
“That was seriously bad timing.” you sighed, spotting Jake outside the door of your house, waiting for you.
Sunghoon got out first, opening the door for you.
You pulled him in and kissed him goodbye, ignoring Jake’s gags in the background.
“Come over for dinner tomorrow.” you pleaded. “Mother wants you there. So do I.”
“Okay.. I’ll be there.” he smiled. “If Jake tries to hit me though, I am swinging back.”
Jake cleared his throat loudly.
You said your goodbyes to Sunghoon as he watched Jake wrap an arm around you and guide you into the house but not leaving before throwing a middle finger up at him.
“So unnecessary.” Sunghoon sighed.
~
Sunghoon and Jake didn’t even try to hide the fact that they were arguing.
When your dad had told them to set the table together they argued in hushed whispers, fighting over forks.
Even your eldest brother, Noah could tell that something was up, he’d come home and intended to stay for a week after not being around for a whole year.
“Sunghoon?” you mother asked plating up caviar. “Has your mother said yes to the trip?”
Sunghoon nodded in response.
Right the trip. Your parents announced that they were taking you all to Greece, Noah was just there for the free holiday.
“You’re a leech, get a job.” you poked at him.
“Med school is kicking my butt, and who’s gonna pass up a free holiday?” he shoved you back.
“Yn.. you don’t have a job yourself either..” your father teased.
“She doesn’t need a job, I’ve got her.” Sunghoon caressed your shoulder.
Jake began to hysterically gag.
“Stop being so dramatic.” you sneered, body relaxing as Sunghoon rested his palm on your knee.
Everything was going well, Jake and Sunghoon didn’t interact and your parents didn’t pick up on a thing.
Sunghoon tried Foie Gras, he didn’t like it and begged you to let him go to a fast food restaurant but other than that he was enjoying himself.
That was until Jake dropped his fork under the table and noticed how shamelessly close the two of you were under the table.
“Oh my I’m gonna throw up.” he cried out.
“What now, Jake?” Noah sighed.
Jake leaned over the table to whisper at you and Sunghoon.
“Footsies under the table is fucking disgusting.” he sneered.
“What are you talking about?” Sunghoon frowned.
“UGH!” Jake shouted.
“Jaeyun Sim.” you mother scolded. “Sit down.”
“Mumma, no!” he whined. “Those two were fucking behind my back!”
Your dad choked on his wine as you dropped his fork.
“I mean we all thought it was gonna happen soon..” Noah trailed off.
“What?” Sunghoon raised his eyebrows. “What do you mean by all?”
Your mother ran round to the other side of the table, pulling you and Sunghoon into a hug.
“Aww my baby is growing up!” she wailed. “Who better to bring into the family than Sunghoon!”
Your dad shook Sunghoon’s hand.
“Careful with that one.” he joked. “She’s a handful.”
“You’re supposed to be on MY side!” Jake glared. “I found out that my best friend is sleeping with-”
“Dating.” your boyfriend corrected.
“Ew!” Jake shivered. “My little sister, my baby sister who I tried SO hard to protect from the men of this world.”
“Even I don’t care this much, Jake?” Noah snickered.
Jake stormed off to his room and slammed the door.
Despite having ups and downs with your brother you truly did love him. Seeing how much he hated the situation made you feel sorry for your actions.
“He’ll come around.” your dad assured.
You waited until the table was cleared to go bring Jake the rest of his food.
“Can I come in?” you asked softly.
He grumbled.
His figure lay on his bed, playing catch with a ball.
“What do you want?” he mumbled.
You placed the food on his desk and sat next to him, ignoring how he aimed the ball at your head.
“Jakey.” you started. “Why are you so against me being with Sunghoon?”
He rolled his eyes.
“I knew him first.”
“Yeah but..” you had to take a deep breath to stop yourself from crying. “I just don’t want you to be mad at me.”
“I‘m not mad.”
“Right.” you pursed your lips together. “I just wanted you to know that I really do love Sunghoon and that he loves me and I just want us all to be happy..”
A tear slipped out of your eye.
He sighed.
“Yeah, I get that. It’s just..” he wiped the tears that ran down. “He’s my best friend and you’re my little sister, if anyone hurts you i’d naturally have to go after them.. I just can’t bring myself to do that to Sunghoon. I love you both too much..”
Now you were both crying.
“Why didn’t you just say that?” you laughed through your tears.
“I thought that if I delayed the conversation it wouldn’t have to happen.” he smiled sadly. “But i’m not mad, I really am happy for you.. change just isn’t my strong suit.”
“He isn’t lying.” Sunghoon laughed from the doorway. “He’s couldn’t sleep for two months when we first got to uni. Claimed it was nerves but I think he just missed you too much.”
You pulled Jake into a hug, both sobbing gently.
Jake grabbed Sunghoon, pulling him in.
“You’re both so emotional.” he whispered, letting you both cry on his shoulders.
“Yeah well, you have to deal with this forever because you’re not leaving now.” you cried.
“I wouldn’t even dare.” he smiled.

The Dellamorte villa was alive with warmth and laughter. The golden light of the kitchen illuminated the flour-dusted counter, where Rook stirred a bowl of batter with a bit more enthusiasm than technique. Her hair was tied loosely back, strands already falling free to frame her flushed cheeks.
Lucanis Dellamorte leaned against the counter beside her, his dark eyes brimming with quiet amusement. He was dressed in casual crow attire, nonetheless a bit intimidating to outsiders, though the frosting smudged across his sleeves made him look just a little less intimidating than usual.
“You know,” he drawled, his voice smooth and laced with mischief, “if you whisk any harder, the bowl might retaliate.”
Rook shot him a look, one brow arched. “I’m trying to make this perfect. You’re the one who insisted on cake instead of pie, so…” She trailed off, gesturing to the mess of ingredients around them.
Lucanis smirked. “Don’t blame me for your ambitious standards, tesoro. You’re the one who said you wanted to impress me.”
“Impress you?” Rook laughed, pausing to flick a pinch of flour at him. “Amorino, I think you’re already impressed enough.”
He tilted his head, watching her intently as though agreeing with that sentiment entirely. Then, without warning, he reached into the nearby frosting bowl, scooping a bit onto his finger and dabbing it across her nose.
“Lucanis!” she yelped, dropping the whisk and swiping at her face.
He was already laughing, the low sound resonating deep in his chest as he stepped back. “You’re much cuter when you’re messy, you know.”
“Oh, you’re asking for it now.”
Rook grabbed a handful of flour and flung it at him, hitting his dark shirt square in the chest. Lucanis stopped short, glancing down at the pale smudge on his otherwise pristine attire.
“You’re going to regret that,” he said, his voice low and teasing.
But Rook wasn’t waiting for his retaliation. She darted around the counter, laughing as Lucanis chased after her with a determined gleam in his eye. They ended up tangled in a playful scuffle, smearing frosting and flour on each other’s faces and hands as they stole kisses in between bursts of laughter.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The cake batter was forgotten for a while, though neither seemed to mind.
It wasn’t until much later, after the cake was baked and half-decorated, and Rook was perched on the countertop with Lucanis standing between her legs, their foreheads pressed together, that she glanced at the clock on the wall.
Her heart sank. “Andraste’s ashes,” she muttered, pulling back.
Lucanis frowned, his brows knitting together. “What is it?”
“It’s one in the morning,” Rook said, sliding off the counter in a panic. “I was supposed to be home by eleven. Viago’s going to kill me.”
Lucanis caught her hand before she could rush away, his expression softening. “Stay,” he murmured, brushing his thumb over her knuckles. “I can smooth talk Viago tomorrow, save you some trouble.”
She sighed, torn between the warmth of his touch and the dread of her brother’s wrath. Finally, she leaned in, pressing a lingering kiss to his lips.
“You’re impossible,” she whispered against his mouth before pulling away.
“And yet, you keep coming back,” Lucanis said with a smirk, watching her gather her things.
Rook rolled her eyes but couldn’t help the smile that crept across her face. “I’ll see you soon. Try not to miss me too much.”
Lucanis chuckled, “try not to get scolded too much,” his gaze following her as she slipped out into the night.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
The De Riva villa was quiet as Rook climbed through the open window of her room, carefully lowering herself onto the floor. She thought she’d gotten away with it, until the light flicked on.
Rook froze, turning slowly to find Viago sitting in a chair by the door, his arms crossed and his dark eyes narrowed. He was still dressed, his usual sharp crow attire despite the late hour, though his expression betrayed his annoyance.
“You want to tell me where you’ve been all night?” he asked, his tone deceptively calm.
Rook scrambled for an excuse. “I was out with Teia,” she said quickly.
Another chair turned, and Teia spun into view with an equally unimpressed look. Her brown hair was loosely braided, and though her expression was softer than Viago’s, it was no less effective.
“Wanna try again?” Teia asked, arching a brow.
Rook winced. “I… was baking. At a friend’s place.”
“Baking,” Viago repeated, his tone flat. “Until one in the morning?”
“It’s… a very complicated recipe?” she offered weakly.
Teia exchanged a look with Viago, her lips twitching as though she were trying to suppress a laugh. Viago, however, didn’t seem amused.
“You know I don’t like it when you’re out this late,” he said, his voice softening slightly but still firm. “Anything could happen.”
Rook sighed, guilt creeping in. “I’m sorry, Vi. I lost track of time, that’s all. Nothing happened. I was perfectly safe at the Dellamorte villa.”
Viago’s brows furrowed, but his expression softened slightly. “Lucanis, huh?” He leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms. “Look, I’m not going to lecture you about seeing him. He’s… decent, as far as men like him go. Better than I expected, even. But, Rook—” His tone sharpened, the protective older brother coming through. “One in the morning? At his villa? What were you thinking?”
Teia gave him a small nudge, her tone gentler. “Vi, let her explain. She’s fine. Don’t make a scene.”
“I’m not making a scene,” Viago shot back, though his raised voice said otherwise.
Rook held up her hands, trying to de-escalate. “We were baking. Baking, Vi. I wasn’t sneaking off to plot assassinations or rile up the Antaam!”
“That’s not the point,” Viago said, standing now, his dark eyes locking onto hers. “The point is you said you’d be home by eleven. If you’re going to see Lucanis, or anyone for that matter, you don’t just vanish into the night like some teenager with no sense of responsibility.”
“Vanish?” Rook repeated, indignant. “I didn’t vanish, Viago. I was with someone you know and trust.”
“I trust him to keep his blades sharp and his secrets buried,” Viago said. “That doesn’t mean I trust him not to make a bad decision with my little sister.”
Teia sighed, cutting in before the argument could spiral further. “She’s not a child, Vi. She’s more than capable of holding her own. And it’s not like she’s going to take any nonsense from Lucanis or anyone else.” She turned to Rook with a wry smile. “But maybe let your brother know next time if you’re running late? He gets… dramatic when he’s worried.”
Rook couldn’t help but grin at Teia’s dry humor, though she turned back to Viago with a more serious expression. “I’m sorry, Vi. I didn’t mean to worry you. I just lost track of time, that’s all. It won’t happen again.”
Viago exhaled, the tension in his shoulders easing a fraction. “Good. Because if you keep sneaking back at this hour, I might start sending messages to Lucanis about curfews.”
Rook’s eyes widened. “You wouldn’t dare.”
His lips quirked into a sly smirk. “Try me.”
Teia snorted a laugh, nudging Viago toward the door. “Alright, that’s enough. She’s apologized. Let her sleep, papa corvo.”
Viago huffed but relented, though not without a final glance at Rook. “Just… take care of yourself, okay? And next time, send a message through a crow.”
As the door closed behind them, Rook sank onto her bed, letting out a breath of relief. Her brother could be a pain, but at least he wasn’t trying to put Lucanis on some sort of watchlist.
But the lecture was worth it, she thought with a smile, the memory of Lucanis’s flour-dusted grin still fresh in her mind.
———————————————————————————
I wanted to write something with a little bit of comic relief, sprinkled with a touch of protective older brother Viago (My headcanon for crow! Rook).

I don't know if this has already been asked before but has Stcmo Ford ever had to intervene in a world where Stanley took the journel(where that world's Ford wasn't sent through the portal) and planned for it to be the last thing he'd ever do before dying?
As he was trudging through the snow back to his car, Stan couldn't help but hear Ford's words play on an endless loop in his head, drowning out everything else. Stan had wanted so badly to shove the journal back at Ford after his brother had branded him, but he couldn't. Ford was right, he was always right.
So he kept the fucking diary and stormed out.
Ford didn't follow, so Stan must've said something about giving in to his brother's will before leaving, but he couldn't remember what had come out of his mouth. His head was swimming in a nauseating way as his shoulder screamed at him, his body shook violently with every gust of wind.
He already knew that he wasn't going far. He just needed to get to the car, then he'd burn the stupid fucking journal and drive himself off the nearest cliff. He was tired. So very tired and hungry and cold. He had dropped everything just to come when his brother called, hoping against all hope that maybe they could finally talk.
He should know better than to entertain hope by now.
He didn't even realize someone was in front of him until he literally ran into them, stumbling back with a curse as he clutched his arm, a new burst of pain surging through his shoulder. He blinked the black spots out of his vision, squinting at the weirdo who was wearing a flashy all-black getup in the middle of a blizzard.
He would've noticed that something was off sooner if he hadn't been so worn down.
But, as it stood, he heard a sharp twang before a bolt was rushing past his ear from behind. Stan stiffened, adrenaline flooding his body when Ford yelled at him, ordering him to run to his car and get out of town as fast as he could.
He took a total of three stumbling steps toward his car before an arm was curling around his throat, getting him into a firm headlock. The stranger wasn't choking him though, so small mercies. Actually, it seemed like the guy was actively avoiding his brand, which was weird because why would that matter if he was gonna take Stan hostage anyway?
Stan tried to hold on to the journal, he really did, but the asshole pulled it away from his icy fingers with ease. Stan choked on what might've been a sob, devastated that he had failed the one task that he'd been given. How did he manage to keep fucking everything up so spectacularly? He should've never been born.
"Stanley!" Ford shouted with no small amount of distress, clearly upset about his journal falling into the wrong hands on his front lawn. Stan couldn't look at him, couldn't bare to see the disappointment and anger that were surely coloring Ford's face right now.
"You can either have the journal or your brother." The stranger's voice carried over the howling wind, Stan's wide eyes darting to the book in the man's other hand with a sinking feeling in his gut. Stan already knew what Ford would pick, he had proved time and time again that he cared about his research more than he loved his brother.
"Let him go!" Ford seethed, the anger far more familiar to Stan, who finally braved a look at his brother. Ford was surprisingly close, only a few feet away with his crossbow loaded and aimed at the stranger. His expression was a mixture of terror and fury, his bloodshot eyes darting from Stan to the stranger several times.
He didn't look at the journal once.
"Is that your choice?" The stranger asked, the arm around Stan's neck slowly tightening, Stan's hands frantically prying at the dark fabric and flexing muscle with a pitiful wheeze that had Ford making an aborted movement toward him.
"Yes! Yes! I choose him!" Ford's voice cracked, face crumpling like he was about to burst into tears. Stan grit his teeth and swung his elbow down to bury it into the man's kidney, the grip on his neck loosening just enough that Stan could twist and punch the asshole right in the chest, knocking the wind out of him.
Stan lunged for the journal, wrenching it from the man's grip as he kicked the bastard's knee, hearing the joint pop out of place. The guy grunted in pain as he went down, Stan scrambling toward his brother, who had lurched forward to meet him. Stan couldn't see what was happening, but he heard another bolt fire and then Ford was dropping the weapon to grab at Stan.
"He's gone! He's gone! He left!" Ford gasped as he dragged Stan to his feet, using his body as a crutch to keep Stan upright as the two of them unsteadily made their way back to the shack. Stan's legs gave out on him as soon as they were inside, Ford slamming and locking the door behind them with an urgency that bordered on manic.
"Ford..." Stan panted, slumped against the wall, and Ford was beside him in the blink of an eye.
"What? What is it? Did he hurt you?" Ford asked in rapid-fire, shaking hands fluttering over his body. Stan caught one, Ford flinching at how cold Stan's hand was.
"I... the journal... I got it back." Stan said breathlessly, weakly raising his other hand to offer it to Ford, who looked stunned as he stared at it. Maybe he didn't think Stan would bother to grab it? Just how little did Ford trust him?
It was Stan's turn to be speechless when Ford took the journal from him and carelessly set it aside before he was back to fussing over Stan, who was too busy blinking dumbly to stop Ford from accidentally touching the brand while searching for wounds.
Stan cried out, hunching on on himself as Ford profusely apologized, scurrying away after assuring Stan that he'd be back with his first aid kit. Stan kept his head down as he nodded, teeth grit against the pain. He was used to waiting. Waiting for the millions to miraculously come pouring in, waiting for Ford to reach out first, waiting for his next meal, waiting for those rough hands to stop touching him.
Always waiting.
He heard Ford making a racket further in the house and decided that he could wait just a little longer.

... I want to start by this art is utterly amazing, so much so that I needed to write a scene of what is going on inside this world.

Miklan was rifling through the kitchen cabinets, looking for something to eat, when he heard the key turn in the back door. He looked down at the mostly empty box of protein bars he knew Sylvain was saving for lunches and the jar of peanut butter they had no bread to spread on and shut the cabinet. When he turned around, Sylvain was standing in the hallway, wiping his snow-covered boots on the black dirt-encrusted doormat that was here when they first moved in. There was a radiator by the back door.
Miklan watched as Sylvain pulled off his gloves with his teeth and put them on top of the radiator. Sylvain shivered as he pulled the zipper on his jacket down. He was wearing the outer layer of Miklan’s coat. The zipper was broken, so Miklan couldn’t very well use it, now, could he?
Sylvain looked up and saw Miklan watching him. He smiled one of those corny little smiles that made Miklan want to go over and smack him. “Hey,” Sylvain said as he stepped out of his winter boots and into their kitchen. The floor was linoleum that had once been white, dotted here and there with blue flowers. There was dirt strewn all across the floor. In black socks, you didn’t notice it as much, but Miklan did notice Sylvain kept the jacket on.
Sylvain stroked his red hands up and down his upper arms before he buried his hands in his jacket pockets with a shiver. “Did you manage to get the heat working?” Sylvain asked, his chestnut eyes twinkling like he knew the answer already and was asking just to be annoying. Typical.
Miklan grunted as he turned around to inspect the other cabinets in their tiny kitchen. “No,” he huffed. “The landlord said he’ll come by tomorrow.”
Sylvain chuckled. “You don’t sound convinced.”
“He hasn’t come over the last two times he’d promised to.” Miklan opened the fridge and studied its contents as his annoying little brother draped himself against Miklan’s lefthand side, like leech. “What the hell, brat.”
“You’re warm,” Sylvain huffed into his ear. “How was work today?”
Miklan made a face at the jar of mustard and the carton of eggs with three eggs remaining in it. “It was work,” Miklan said, noncommittal.
“Dorothea told me you scared the piss out of some dude.”
When Miklan looked down at his little brother, Sylvain’s eyes were laughing. Miklan sighed and then shook Sylvain off his arm so he could crouch down. Inside the vegetable drawer was one lonely wilted head of lettuce. When Miklan opened the drawer and pulled it out, it was wet to the touch.
“Well? Aren’t you going to tell me what happened?” Sylvain asked.
“What’s there to tell? Besides, Dorothea probably already gave the whole story already. What’s the point in retelling it?” Miklan moved around Sylvain to toss the wilted lettuce into the trash can, Sylvain moving with him. They hadn’t been here very long, but Sylvain always had a sixth sense for where Miklan was in proximity to Sylvain. Miklan supposed that was his fault. He tried and failed to dredge up anything other than tiredness.
“I still wanna hear it,” Sylvain said as Miklan pulled out their only fry pan.
“He was an ass.” Miklan said as he reached for the last of the vegetable oil. “I dealt with it. End of story. Pass me the eggs.”
Miklan didn’t jolt as Sylvain pasted himself against Miklan’s back. “You’re no fun,” Sylvain whinged. Through the black leather jacket Miklan was wearing, he could feel Sylvain’s body heat. The kid was like a walking furnace.
“Then you tell it,” Miklan said, disinterested. “Hey, I asked you to pass me the eggs. Can you do that, or should I tell Dorothea her boytoy is broken?”
“You’re so mean, Miklan,” Sylvain grumbled. He put the eggs on the counter next to Miklan’s hand. Miklan clicked on the gas stove as Sylvain jumped up on the counter on the other side of the stove. Miklan glanced at Sylvain’s black skinny jeans with the purposefully ripped holes in the knees and wanted to scoff. He held his hand above the pan to see if it was hot yet.
It was not.
Miklan fried them both an egg each as Sylvain rattled on about anything and everything under the sun. After the eggs were cooked and sitting on a clipped blue and white plate they’d found at the local thrift store, Miklan turned and went to go cook the rice. It was broken short grain rice, the only kind they’d been able to afford when they went to the store last weekend.
Sylvain trailed off into silence while Miklan was washing the rice in the sink. Miklan flicked water off his fingers, his hands growing numb from the cold, and looked up at his little brother. Sylvain was wearing that brittle smile that meant he was thinking too much about dumb things.
“What?” Miklan said. “I got something on my face?”
Sylvain didn’t rise to the bait. Miklan stood there, waiting, as Sylvain leaned forward, one elbow on his bent knee, his chin resting on his fist. “Hey, Miklan,” Sylvain said softly, his brown eyes uncharacteristically somber, “Do you ever regret it?” What It was laid unspoken between the two of them, like a dead horse you could smell but had to pretend wasn’t there.
“No,” Miklan said. “And neither should you.”
Miklan turned and put their cheap Aroma rice cooker to boil. From behind him, Miklan heard Sylvain sigh. Miklan looked down at the thin scars running criss-cross up and down his thick paper white wrists, the sleeve of his blood red cotton shirt not long enough to cover them to his satisfaction. He felt a brief surge of the anger-hatred-pity, then pushed it back down again.
Miklan had left that all behind when he took Sylvain and ran. He didn’t have time for it, not when Sylvain was trusting him to keep them warm and safe. Miklan swallowed thickly. “No,” he said, softer, “I don’t regret it.”
Miklan was staring at the little pinkish-orange light on the rice cooker, listening to the sound of rice beginning to boil when he heard a loud thump. He was about to turn around and ask, What the fuck was that, Sylvain, when Miklan got slammed into the sharp edge of the counter by his annoying little brother. “Ow, fuck,” Miklan cursed. He twisted until he was facing Sylvain.
Sylvain was clinging like a limpet, Miklan’s leather jacket clenched so tightly in his fists it was making a weird creaking sound, and Sylvain’s nose was smashed so closely against Miklan’s skin-tight shirt, he could feel it stir when Sylvain breathed. Miklan didn’t know what to do with his hands. His hands hovered uncertainly in the air before coming to rest hesitantly on Sylvain’s back. Sylvain took a long deep breath in like just this much was killing him.
Slowly, Miklan tucked Sylvain’s head of hot dry hair under his chin. He brought up one hand and stroked the back of Sylvain’s head, wavy curls springing back into place after each pass of his heavy head. Miklan’s heart felt like it might be breaking, like a vase someone threw a rock at.
Miklan remembers his mother holding him like this, once, after a nightmare. It was before Sylvain was born. Miklan doesn’t remember anyone holding him like this after Sylvain was declared heir. He wonders if he was supposed to be watching out for a reaction like this from Sylvain. They haven’t been gone that long. Long enough for Sylvain to pick up a girlfriend and for Miklan to pick up a job beating others black and blue for entertainment.
When Miklan had gone back to pay his little brother back for all the times their dad looked at him like he was a disgusting little spittle barely worth his time, he hadn’t expected Sylvain to ask him to leave with him. And now they’re here, in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, in an apartment with no heat and no food and no dad riding their asses to kingdom come.
Miklan holds Sylvain tight against his chest and tries to pretend that it’s enough, that the inside of his brain isn’t a hellscape few dare tread, that his anger isn’t molten lava waiting to overflow, that Sylvain isn’t going to get himself killed one day, stealing another guy’s girlfriend. It’s cold and dark outside, but for one single blindingly simple moment, Miklan tries to believe that good things can happen to bad people.

Alastor X Reader
Warnings ⚠

Alastor felt like he was at the end of a shotgun barrel.
He froze, his hands shaking slightly and his undead heart thumping rapidly.
Quite a daring thing to say...
Husk stared at him in slight shock and something else. Something that the deer demon couldn't decipher. The two stood still, not moving an inch, just watching who would make the first move. Almost like an old west duel.
Finally, after a long silence, one of them spoke up.
"Leave them alone."
In all honesty, the cat demon had no idea what to do about this...situation, but he knew the Radio Demon. His boss was nothing but a cruel, insane, egotistical man who wanted power and control.
"I don't give a shit about what you do to me, but I know if you hurt me, they'll hate you.", Husk said before turning to leave the radio tower. "Whatever thing you've got? It's best to get rid of it now."
And with that, the feline left.
Now Alastor was alone, just like he wanted but he couldn't get rid of the thought of what the ex Overlord had said.
He couldn't deny it any longer.
Sighing, he ran a hand through his hair before making his way over to his chair.
I'll avoid them like the plague... He decided.
He stayed away for two weeks.
Leaving a room whenever they stepped foot inside, staying in his room, office, or radio tower when he didn't know where they were in the hotel.
And then something snapped.
The thought was screeching in his mind, clawing at his chest, a never ending cycle of want.
He had to-
No.
Needed to tell them.
Maybe confessing would help stop that feeling.
With the last of his sanity, Alastor stepped out of his radio tower and went to search for them with the help of his shadows.
.
You were confused at first by the absence of the red dressed demon but thought nothing of it since your brother seemed happier.
Charlie had given you the new job of welcoming new guests at the front desk but well...its been very boring.
No one checks in.
Like at all. The demons that do come in ask for directions and then there's Cherri Bomb, Angel's friend who stops by for a second or two. So, you spent most of your days talking to your brother at the bar, leaving a "ring the bell for assistance" sign at the check-in counter.
You held a glass of very diluted iced catnip tea, your brother made sure to make it that way so you don't run around the hotel like last time.
"Ugh.", you hid your face in embarrassment.
I can't believe Husk planned that. That jerk! You sighed. I did enjoy the nap after though..
Then your thoughts continued until it wound up to the last conversation you had with your brother about the red dressed demon.
After telling him what happened, Husk stood up real quick and said he'd be right back. Then he came back with snacks and his poker face.
What your brother doesn't know is that you can actually read his poker face. It's very, very faint, but his ears give him away. Depending on the way that it flicks, you can tell how bad a situation is.
And his ear flicked back twice.
Which means he doesn't like the current cards in his hand.
What did he get? You wonder and sip your drink.
Some more time passes and the next time you see Alastor in the same room as you is when the King comes to visit the hotel.
Keekee is in your arms and hops out once Lucifer stops hugging Charlie.
Things take a turn after some random flapper shows up and then there are shark sinners.
"MY WINDOWS!", Nifty screeches in horror.
It goes to shit really quickly, everything is too loud, everyone is running around and trying to stay out of the shooting range of the flaming boulders, and you were overstimulated with all of the things happening at once.
"GET BEHIND THE COUNTER KIT!", Husk grabs you by the shoulders and pushes you towards the bar.
You make a face once seeing the flapper, the reason loan sharks are attacking the hotel, is hiding behind the counter.
"Oh fuck this.", you sigh and walk away.
No wonder your brother said not to come here.
Its too loud..
The banging on the door didn't stop until the Radio Demon stepped out and the screams took over.
Too loud.
"I will devour each and every one of you!"
You covered your ears in pain, wishing you brought your headset.
"ITS TOO FUCKING LOUD!", you yell out.
.
Alastor reminisces when these feelings solidified.
It was when Lucifer and Mimzy showed up at the hotel. He had his fun messing around with the King, making the short blonde feel jealous.
Then Mimzy barged in, which is not a surprise, and started chatting up with the others.
What annoyed him was when Husk mentioned the deal that he, the Radio Demon, had made. Reminding him that he too needed to stay within range so his collar didn't choke his neck.
Then after taking care of Husk, he made his way downstairs to take care of Mimzy's mess.
And that's when it happened.
As he was ripping apart some of the loan sharks, he heard screaming from inside the hotel. Turning to deal with the ones that managed to slip past him, he finds a shadow creature with multiple eyes dragging the left over sharks into the darkness.
"NO! No, no, no, no, no! AH-!", a shark screamed before the shadow tore open his stomach and ripped out his intestines.
"Kit! You gotta calm down!", Husk yelled out.
"That's your little sibling!?", Angel screeched. "What the fuck happened!?"
"It was too damn loud, that's what happened!"
The two continued to bicker as they tried to move the shadow out of the hotel.
A piece of rubble fell and Mimzy side stepped away from it. "Oops. Sorry about the mess. I'm sure the little bug can handle it."
"Mimzy.", Alastor went back to his normal size and made his way towards the hotel. "I believe it's time for you to leave. Now."
"What-? Come on, you don't mean that~", the flapper laughs. "This dump doesn't mean anything to ya! And you love taking care of me!"
"I can't have you making a mess here.", he replied. "You can stay if you want to be redeemed.", he turned to look back at the short woman. "But we both know that's not your style."
"Fine! I don't need you! Have fun at this ritzy dump and-!"
Alastor ignored the rest and walked into the hotel lobby. Husk was the only one taking care of the shadow beast, while Angel was watching whatever was going on between the two royals with the others.
"It's ok now, calm down.", the cat demon said to the shadow in the corner.
"What or who is this?", the deer demon asks and points to the shadow creature.
"Pretty sure you ain't deaf, you heard Angel yell it out.", Husk said and started..purring?
"My! I didn't know you could make such an adorable sound!", he grinned.
"Shut up!", the cat hissed quietly. "They need to calm down, loud noises only make it worse!"
"Well, why didn't you say that sooner?"
With a snap of his fingers, he teleported the three of them into his room in the greenery area.
"The only sounds in here are nature, will this do?", Alastor asked.
"Yes, this is fine.", Husk nodded before getting focused, and pulled the shadow closer. "Kit? Listen. You're ok now.", he said and started purring again.
Their shadow figure was still too large, so the radio demon decided to add in some of his white noise static, earning a look from Husker.
"It helps.", was all he said.
Slowly but surely, the shadow got smaller and smaller before going back into a familiar figure. The darkness on their form began to fade away, starting from the tips of their feet/paws.
Before the shadow fully receded, Husk held out his hand.
"Give me a blanket or somethin'."
"Whatever for?", he asked with a raised brow.
"You wanna see them naked?"
Alastor quickly took off his coat and handed it over.
In a quick motion, the cat demon covered his sibling in the red fabric and wrapped an arm around their shoulders, holding them securely as they passed out.
A few moments passed before the demon in red decided to ask his question.
"What exactly happened?"
Husk was quiet for a bit and then sighed.
"I'll let them tell you."
Now, Alastor stood in front of your hotel room.
He felt like it was as if it was his first broadcast all over again. His nerves were all over the place and his hands felt tingly.
Clearing his throat, he prepared himself and knocked on their door.
"Dear? Are you there? There is something I wish to discuss with you."
A few heartbeats later, the door opens.
"Come in."
*flops over* I'm done for now. Stay tuned.

Rule number one
Dealer!Chris x Fem!reader
— tags;; drug use, a lot of curse words, no use of y/n, arguments, angst
— wc;; 1.7k
— author‘s note;; my take on dealer!chris since I find it concerning that people think it‘s a good idea for him to be a druggie, hope you enjoy <3
Rule number one is clear. You are aware of it, Chris is aware of it, everyone knows. The dealer does not take their own stuff. Because what happens then? It goes down way too fast. It is too dangerous.
Everyone knows. With an almost infinite supply of more, always more, it is a risk you cannot take.
And yet, you’re here. Standing in front of Chris, with a deep and dark pit in your stomach. Fuck. His eyes are clearly dilated, and his heart is racing—you can feel it through his shirt when you press your hand against his chest. He mutters something incoherent, a smile dripping from his lips.
“What was it?” you mumble, more to yourself. At least you’re alone with him, away from his brothers or customers. “What did you take?” you ask again, louder this time while gripping his chin and forcing him to look at you.
No. Wrong approach. Violence doesn’t help. But fuck, you need to know what it was.
“Was it K? Ketamine? Chris, did you take Ketamine?” you ask, slowly rubbing his shoulders. Oh, please let it be Ketamine.
He laughs and launches forward, embracing you tightly. “Shush Ma, you’re making me all worried,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to your head. “It’s alright. It will be alright, trust me.”
The pit in your stomach deepens while the machinery in your mind runs at full speed. Racing heartbeat. Emotional closeness. Dizziness maybe? From the way he is swaying, you can tell he is more than a little lightheaded. **
“What do you feel?” you ask him, pulling away a little to look at him. “How are you feeling? Are you disoriented? Drowsy?”
Chris shakes his head, sighing deeply. “Doesn’t matter,” he mutters, his voice getting a slight slurred edge.
“Do you have a headache? Or an increased appetite?”
“No?” His voice is disinterested—he clearly could not care less. Unfortunately, this is all you care about at the moment. Increased body temperature, sweating, slurred speech…
“Chris, did you take MDMA?”
“Mmh…” he says, pulling you close again and peppering kisses to your head. “No, it was a longer name…”
“Ecstasy, Chris.” A slight undertone of desperation lies in your voice. How does he not remember the simplest things? “MDMA is Ecstasy. Did you take it or not?”
“Why does it matter?” he asks, pulling away to look at you. His movements are unpredictable and confused—clearly, he does not see the way you do right now. Even if just through his energy. “Come on, let’s go back inside and have fun. Dance with me, pretty girl, yeah?”
He grabs your hands, but you refuse. “You can’t go back in there,” you say sternly.
“But the party isn’t over,” he complains. “I still gotta dance… and deal.”
“You can’t. Deal, I mean.” A lump forms in your throat at the confused look he shoots at you through half-lidded eyes.
“What? Sure I can! Look, I still have-” The second he pulls out a small bottle of pills, you snatch it out of his hand. And you were right—it’s X, MDMA, clarity, whatever you want to call it.
“Chris you have to stop dealing.”
“I know you’re always worried about me, Ma,” he says with a sloppy grin. “But you know I have everything under control. No one’s going to get too dangerous.”
“That’s not what I’m talking about,” you sigh, stepping closer. “Chris, you have to stop dealing. You broke rule number one. You have a practically infinite supply of drugs, and you just started taking them. What do you think is happening now?”
He frowns, clearly having difficulties concentrating. Fuck, how long does Ecstasy last? You go through your memory, trying to find anything about it. From one up to… was it five? Six hours? Fuck.
“We’re going,” you say, grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the room you searched for shelter from the party.
The second you step outside, into the main area, the music clogs up your ears. Smoke burns in your lungs, mixed with the smells of alcohol and sweat. You’ve never been a fan of parties like this, but you came with Chris more and more often, wanting to look out for him—even though you wouldn’t be able to do anything in an extreme case.
But today, you’re infinitely grateful for having come with him. Who else would force him to go home and not take another pill? His brothers don’t even know what’s going on behind the scenes, he’s taken care of that.
Back at your car, you force him into the passenger seat. Now looking at him, restlessly playing with the decoration on your glovebox, you’re almost relieved he did it. Just because it means he has to stop dealing. As soon as he’s sober, he’ll realise that too.
After getting into the driver’s seat, you lock the doors and reach out a hand. “Give me your phone.”
“Huh?” he asks, pulling out his iPhone.
“Not that one. The burner one.”
Frowning deeply, he crosses his arms. “No.”
“Yes. Chris, do it.”
“No way. That’s the only contact I have with customers and the supplier,” he protests.
“Exactly. Hand it over, I’m not asking you again.” Your fingers move twice in your direction, a sign everyone knows. Come on, you think, don’t make this more complicated.
“A’ight,” he mutters, pulling it out of his back pocket and going back to fiddling with something he found in your car. You couldn’t care less what it is.
“Good,” you mutter, quickly chucking the phone into the backseat from where you’ll pick it up later. For now, you need to get Chris home.
The drive back is silent, except for when he occasionally starts humming a melody and then abruptly stops, grinding his teeth.
“Don’t do that,” you mutter, watching him out of the corner of your eye.
“Stop telling me what to do,” he replies, staring ahead like a pouty kid. “I can take care of myself.”
“Clearly,” you scoff, a wave of anger bubbling up in your chest.
How could he be so careless? How could he possibly have thought that taking drugs as a goddamn drug dealer is okay? That it works? He knows the dangers of every drug. He’s seen people get completely wasted, slowly destroying their lives and the ones of the people around them.
Why would he do this to you? To his brothers? His friends and family?
Tears are burning in your eyes and you blink rapidly to focus your gaze on the street.
“Ma? ‘re you crying?” Chris asks. His voice is softer but clearly slurred now. The drug seems to be kicking in.
You open your mouth to say something, but not a single sound escapes your lips.
“Why are you crying, love?” he whispers.
“Why would you do that?” you finally ask. “You know drugs. You know what they do. You know they destroy lives. Fuck, Chris, what’s going on? Why did you take it?”
The car is silent, and nervosity settles in the pit of your stomach.
“Chris…?” you ask again. “Why did you take it?”
“I js wanted to try,” he mumbles. It’s clearly not the only answer, but now is not the time to figure out what exactly led him to be so stupid.
After stopping the car in front of your house—you won’t let Nick and Matt see him in this state—, you force Chris outside, into the cool air. He doesn’t react, even as you start shivering. You quickly fetch the burner phone from the backseat and lead Chris inside, pushing him through the front door and to the couch. He seems restless and refuses to sit down, so you let him wander around.
While he’s still in his drug-induced haze, you sit down at the kitchen island and open the flip phone. The first number is his suppliers’, you know that, saved simply as G. It rings only once before he picks it up.
“You run out this quickly?” he asks. No greeting, no nothing.
“No,” you reply. The tension is palpable, even through the phone.
“Who are you?” G asks cautiously.
“You will not supply C anymore,” you say, careful not to use Chris’s name. “Do you understand me?”
“Tell me who you are and I’ll consider,” he repeats.
“That’s none of your business. If you sell to Chris-” Fuck, fuck fuck. “If you sell to him again, I will find out and send the police after you.”
The guy chuckles. “Easy. I’m sure we can talk about this. You his girlfriend?”
“Yeah,” you sigh, running a hand over your face.
“You worried about him or something?”
“Obviously,” you scoff. “I don’t want him to become an addict. That’s normal, I fear.”
“He wouldn’t. I’ve been supplying to him for a while, he does it for the money, not the drugs,” G says, apparently unimpressed. “Just stay out of his business, yeah? This is no place for little girls.”
“You listen to me, you little fuck,” you hiss, jumping up from the chair. “I know who you are and from where you supply. I know the faces of all the little dealers around here, and they’re all connected to you. I know what parties you go to, and what people you know. I’ve seen you. And I will get you if you deal with my boyfriend again. He took Ecstasy today. And trust me, I know what happens next. I’ve seen it happen. So if one of us ever hears from you again, you will be caught, I promise.”
A stunned silence fills the phone. The only sounds you hear is the clock on the kitchen wall ticking… and heavy breathing behind you.
You whip your head around. Chris stares at you with confused eyes. He reaches out for the phone, but his movements are too uncoordinated, and you dodge his hand.
“Is that G?” he asks, slurring his words more than before. “Why would you- what are you doing?”
“Making sure you don’t go down that path,” you say sternly.
Since you have no more to say to G, and you don’t care to hear his answer, you hang up the phone and guide Chris upstairs, leaving the burner phone on the kitchen counter.
“Come on, let’s go to bed.”
“But ‘m not tired,” he protests, still energised from the Ecstasy.
This is going to be a long night.

Mom Friend - Kenma (Angst-ish)
“You don’t love me and I’m being really brave about it.”
-
The air is soft and cool, like a blanket made from silk. You take it as a good sign, smile up at the traffic sign above you like it’s a flower or an ornament.
How silly that love can make ordinary things bloom.
Tonight you feel good in your clothes. No need to worry about tomorrow.
Your phone buzzes in the pocket of your jacket but you don’t want to pull it out right now. You want to stay in the moment, right here, enjoy that buzzing feeling inside of you.
Maybe tonight, you think. Maybe tonight something will happen.
You’re not insecure, not questioning, not doubting anything.
Just waiting, patiently, for something that sure will come.
-
You spot him first, head buried in his hoody, eyes on the phone in his hand.
Knowing Kenma, he’s playing a game to pass the time.
You don’t wave, but keep your eyes on him as you come closer. It’s rare that you get to enjoy that sight for yourself, that you can watch without being watched.
He’s pretty. Always has been, you think, even though you’ve only really had a chance to befriend him lately. But you’ve seen the pictures, and besides, you can’t imagine him being anything but.
Just a few more steps to go but he raises his head and spots you without hesitation, the pupils of eyes growing smaller.
You’ve read about it, you can’t help but think. How the size of one’s pupil tells about their attraction.
A first seed of doubt begins to sprout but you push it down with a well-practiced smile.
“Hi,” you greet him, your voice weirdly breathless. You’re not that out of shape, he just does that to you. Do you shake his hand? Hug him?
He makes no move to greet you other than a quiet nod so you think that’s it and push down the disappointment. Kenma hugs Hinata.
Well, everyone hugs Hinata, you tell yourself, and look for something to say.
“Are we early?”
“No,” he dips his nose deeper into his hoody. “Kuroo’s not coming.”
“O-oh,” you pull out your phone to check. He’s right. The message is there, in the group chat. Right below it is another one, from Hinata.
“Can’t make it tonight, sorry guys. Rain check?”
“Should we-?”
“I’m going to watch the movie,” Kenma interrupts you, voice level. He doesn’t sound angry, or annoyed, or even bored, he just… sounds. Is flat the right word for it?
“Okay?”
His eyes, big and round and golden, move toward you and back to the sign above the door. “You can join me if you want.”
-
The movie isn’t bad. You like action movies, even the dumber ones. There’s a reason why Hinata still invites you to these hangouts, after all.
But you know you’re missing a crucial part of knowledge about the game this movie is based on.
There are jokes you don’t get that leave Kenma chuckling to himself and you can’t help but wonder what he thinks of you. Does he know you’re- Well, he has to, right?
You know he’s a little more on the shy side. Or, not shy, but more… private?
Maybe this is his way of getting a date with you?
The thought electrifies you.
But no. Kenma’s not acting like a guy on a date. He’s not sharing his food with you, has not even tried to pay for yours or initiate any conversation so far.
If you’d have to describe it, it would be like… getting to come along with your big brother.
Your face twists into a scowl. That is not the kind of thing you want to associate with Kenma.
-
“Do you wanna eat something?” You ask once you leave the cinema, dust your clothes off and get rid of the last remnants of popcorn and stray skittles.
Kenma hesitates for a second.
“Yeah, why not?”
You follow him out of the Cinema and down the street.
The wind is soothing on your warm cheeks. A couple walks down the street, facing you. Your heart squeezes tight when the guy swings their joined hands.
As they pass, Kenma steps out of their way, bumping into you.
He does not apologize.
It feels like a sign. A different one this time.
-
The restaurant is small but private and Kenma finds a booth at the back, orders like someone who’s been here before. You need a little longer to figure out what you want but then there’s nothing else to do but wait.
Kenma pulls out his phone, looks at the unlit screen and puts it face down on the table.
“Do you have a crush on me?”
His voice is even, like he’s reading from the menu and it takes you a second to register the meaning of the words.
Your mouth opens, but you can’t bring yourself to say it.
Nonetheless, your silence is answer enough. Your eyes fall back down to the table.
“I’m sorry,” Kenma mutters and there’s almost warmth to his words now.
He says nothing more for a while and you swallow a bout of tears that’s threatening to spill.
Silly you, you think.
Doubts and insecurities raise their ugly heads.
“Kuroo thought you might be into Shouyou,” Kenma starts anew. When you look up he’s staring out the window. “Cuz you’re always mothering him.”
“I’m not-”
“You’re like Kuroo, in that way,” Kenma adds on, as if he’s not hearing you. “Always bothering people. You bring extra water bottles and extra pain killers and a snack in case someone gets hungry and you remind them of their appointments.”
Your fingers clench around the utensils that are useless without any food but you need to hold onto something real if you want to survive this.
“Why are you telling me this?”
Golden eyes turn back to you and you wonder how it has taken you so long to realize that gold is not warm. Gold is a metal, heavy and cold, and not at all made for cuddling.
“Shouyou is my friend,” Kenma points out. “He doesn’t mind being mothered.”
“So?”
“You’d do better with a partner that likes that part of you. We all want-” He stops for a second, the first time you’ve seen him hesitate. “It’s not good if you have to change who you are for a relationship to work.”
“You could have just said you’re not interested,” you point out, petulance winning over the hurt. Or maybe the hurt is triggering it.
Kenma blinks slowly. “I am trying to be a good friend here.”
“Who’s friend?”
He opens his mouth to answer but the food arrives and he pulls back again, stares at you silently, like a cat stalking its prey.
“I’m not good at verbalizing my thoughts,” he begins again when the server has left. “You remind me of Kuroo in some way. I think-” He hesitates again. “If you want a partner that you can mother, you should try dating Shouyou.”
“I don’t want to date Hinata.”
Kenma sighs. “You could try Kuroo but I think-”
Your chopsticks dig into your hands as you interrupt him, pointing them at him like a weapon. “Stop it,” you hiss. “You’re not interested and that’s it. You don’t need to push me into someone else's arms like I’m something too valuable to throw away but not valuable enough to actually cherish.”
His face goes slack. He tries to speak again but you turn your face away and begin eating, stuffing your face with a pace that can’t be healthy but you just want to get out of here, out of this conversation.
Quiet settles. Your cheeks sting as if sensing the coming tears. But you don’t cry.
You finish first and get up, squeezing the handle of your purse so tight in your hand that it hurts.
“The bill is on me,” you tell Kenma. “Have a good night.”

summary:
In the midst of an unfortunate run-in with the enforcers, you meet the young revolutionary Silco, and by extension, his friends Vander and Felicia. Growing close friends, you get through life in the undercity together, determined to make Zaun a better place. Until tragedy strikes, and betrayal and carelessness stabs hard enough to turn you bitter. Years later as time solidifies the scars, Silco proves to be a thorn in your side. You, in his. Hatred festers. And your world cracks further open.
Chapter Two:
You didn’t have anyone.
You were looking for company.
The Last Drop was loud and rowdy- just as you’d expected of a bar. Although you didn’t go to many very often.
You pushed through the crowd, resisting the urge to shrink in on yourself and instead holding your head high, setting your jaw. You’d made it to the counter, and you firmly planted your hands on the wood, pushing yourself forward to catch the bartender’s attention.
The burly man looked at you, and came over. You had to raise your voice to be heard.
“I- uh…” you looked around, words suddenly lost.
“What’ll it be?”
“Silco…”
The bartender stared at you. “What?”
You pursed your lips. “I’m looking for Silco. Would he happen to be here? By any chance?”
The bartender raised an eyebrow. “He didn’t tell me he had a lady friend.”
“A lady- what? No, I’m just an acquaintance. Is he here?”
The bartender shook his head, letting out a chuckle which was drowned out by the din of the bar. “He’s a close friend of mine. I can tell him you were looking for him tomorrow. Any message you want to relay?”
You thought for a moment. “…Not really. Although-“ A smoke on the rooftop would be nice. “I’d rather talk to him myself, actually.”
The bartender raised his eyebrow without another word, and nodded. “He always hangs around here in the afternoon. Has nothing better to do with his time, the man,” he joked. You made yourself laugh, and thanked him.
You squared your shoulders. “And while I’m here, I suppose I might as well get something. So, uh… gin and tonic, please. Without the gin.”
The man looked at you rather askance at your peculiar request, but didn’t say anything as he served up a glass of tonic. You smiled thinly, looking around at the establishment as he wiped down a glass.
“So how do you know Silco?” He asked you.
You turned your head towards him. You didn’t expect him to start conversation. He looked at you with a glance of curiosity.
“I don’t,” you say. He frowned.
“So how come you’re asking for him?”
“Well, I mean- I do know him. We met yesterday.” You took a sip of the tonic, and it took the bartender a moment to realise you weren’t planning on elaborating. “How do you know him?”
“He’s pretty much my brother,” the bartender said simply. He extended a hand, and you shook it. “I’m Vander.”
You nodded slowly. “…Vander.” You thought for a moment. “I’m [name].”
“Nice meeting you. Stop by at four tomorrow, will ya?” He watched as you downed your cup and set it on the counter, tossing him the money and nodding.
With that, you left the Last Drop.
-
You found Silco sitting on the steps outside the Last Drop at four in the afternoon the next day. He looked up at you, and you raised your eyebrows in surprise.
“Silco!” You gasped. “Oh, uh, what are you doing here?”
A languid sweep of his hand brushed the hair out of his eyes. “You asked for me.” He said, voice sounding bored. But there was a twinkle of amusement in his eyes.
You scoffed, shuffling your feet. “Hardly asked.”
“You were looking for me.”
“You told me to stop by!”
He stood up, dusting off his clothes. “Indeed I did. Lonely, are you?”
“As I’ve said already,” you muttered, following him as he made his way through the street. Before long you’d both found yourself on a rooftop, a cigarette in between you.
“Who’s Vander?”
“He’s like my brother.”
Wow.
“Right.” You looked out across the streets. “Did your… business from last night get…resolved?”
He nodded, a small smirk playing at his lips as he thought back. “It did.”
“And you're sure it wasn’t a prostitute.”
He scoffed, as you giggled at his reaction. “I’m sure.” He turned to watch you laugh, back pressed against the rusted tin as you laid back, and blew a steady stream of smoke into the air.
And then he sighed.
This became a usual routine. One or the other of you would find each other on the rooftop, and would sit there talking until one person had to leave. He wasn’t half bad company, you realized. And sitting there against the sky and smoke felt nice. It was nice to have someone to talk to for reasons other than necessity or business.
One day on a walk home from an errand, the dark blue of the night sky creeping behind the clouds, you heard whimpering from an alleyway. You froze, unsure of what to do. Run? Stay? The sniffling picked up, descending into sobs.
You burst into the alley.
A little girl, scraped and bloodied, stared at you with wide glassy eyes. You looked back at her.
“What’s your name?” You asked gently, crouching down and wiping the tears and dirt from her bruised face.
“Alice,” she choked out. You felt a tug at your heart, a painful wrench that was hard to ignore. You swallowed a lump.
“What happened, Alice?”
“Th-they… my mommy…” she started trembling again, and you exhaled slowly, hushing her. “They took her.”
“What about your daddy?” You whispered, carding your fingers through her mousy brown hair.
She raised her head. You followed her gaze.
Piltover.
You lip curled in disgust. Some Piltie must have had an affair with a trencher- a Zaunite, and wanted to get rid of the evidence. No doubt. You gathered the girl in your embrace.
You could hardly support a child, let alone take one in…
“The men were following me,” she told you.
“Let’s go,” you replied. You could hardly support a child.
“Where?”
“Home.”
-
You found him perched on the roof, and climbed up to meet him.
“Silco!” You hissed. He looked at you, frowning at your expression as you collapsed in a heap next to him.
“What’s wrong?” He grabbed your shoulders, eyes welling with concern.
“Silco, there’s a girl. Her father’s from Piltover and they had her mother killed and they’re after her, and I found her and I have no idea what to do with her-“
“Shh, calm down.” He stopped your exhilarated rambling short, and leaned back, taking a moment to think. You watched him, unable to speak.
“Well, if you can’t raise her…”
“I’m not leaving her to die,” you said sharply.
He looked at you skeptically. “And what exactly will you do then? Can you even afford to raise a child?”
“I’ll figure something out.” You sounded unsure.
He looked at you tiredly. “[name]…”
“I’m not leaving her to die,” you said with finality.
He looked at you silently, then nodded. “I’ll… I’ll help where I can.”
You flushed. “You don’t have to.”
He took your hand, and shook his head. “We’re friends.”
You flushed deeper, and looked away, taking a shaky breath. “I’m sorry.”
He looked at you. “What?”
“I’m sorry, all you’ve ever done is help me and all I’ve done is… steal your cigarettes.”
At this he laughed, but one look at your face and he realized you were being serious. “It’s not like that.”
“But it is.”
He fell silent, and you knew he couldn’t deny what you had stated was the fact. But then he spoke. “You give me company.”
You laughed. “That’s it?”
“I don’t care about the enforcer chase, or the cigarettes. You know if I didn’t want to be around you I wouldn’t bother. So stop saying random shit and just…” he took a deep breath and dragged his hand across his face. “God, you’re insufferable sometimes.”
Despite the insult, your insides glowed, and you smiled. “Thank you, Silco.”
“Did you just hear me? I called you insufferable.”
You nodded, still beaming. “Thanks.”
He scoffed, a small smile on his face. “You idiot.” He took out another cigarette, and, as usual, you held out your lighter. He looked at you, and passed you the lit cigarette to have first.
“And you’re sure you don’t consider me as charity work?” You said before a long drag of the cigarette. You passed it back to him, and he stared at you, confused.
“What? I- of course not.”
“Why are we here then?”
“You’re my friend. You were looking for me that day, remember?”
“You immediately decided we were going to…” you waved your hand around. “Whatever this is. Hanging out. What if I wanted something else?”
He rolled his eyes, blowing out some smoke. “What else would you want? I told you to come find me if you wanted company.” He jabbed the cigarette in your direction. “This is company. And I believe we just talked about this?”
You ignored his last comment. “Well, why are you keeping me company?”
He laughed. “You’re my friend. And I get bored too, you know.”
“You have Vander. I’m sure you have others.”
He suddenly looked at you piercingly. You squirmed. Had you said the wrong thing? But then he shook his head slowly, visibly relaxed. “Right, but none of them are…” he stopped himself, face turning slightly pink. “What I mean to say is, it’s nice to know some other people.”
You leaned close and gently prised the cigarette from his fingers, and he looked up at you. You grinned, then placed it in between your lips. Inhaled. Took it from your lips. Exhaled. He blinked as the smoke billowed in his face.
“Thanks,” you smiled. He looked away, miffed.
“We won’t talk about this anymore.”
“‘Course.”
“You know my answer.”
“I do.”

The Arrangement - Part 12
Summary: Jake's done a lot of things to keep his sister, and then his niece, safe from his parent's influence and manipulation. If he wants to keep them safe, he has to marry you.
Warnings: Anxiety, Bad parents and siblings, Talking about abuse. Let me know if I missed any!
Part 11 - Part 13
Series Masterlist
It had been just over a week since your wedding. You and Jake have improved your communication. He's also managed to really set himself up in the home theater where he'd spent that first night. Apparently one thing your parents got right was the massive pair of recliners specifically for that room. Jake swears they're more comfortable than most of the beds he's slept on over the years. It makes you feel better about taking the master bedroom for yourself. Clay had visited again bringing a few duffel bags of Jake's things, including his computer. The massive screen for the theater worked really well for his setup.
While you were cooking, Clay had made sure to update Jake on the status of his family. Things were working pretty well, but there were going to be a lot of paper trails to hide so that they couldn't be followed. Or at least, not followed easily. Aisha and Cougar had both caught a couple of people following his family around that were confirmed to be employed by his parents. Hopefully now that Jake had his computer he could get some better intel on the parents' finances and connections.
But you weren't privy to that update. Jake and Clay agreed it was safer to keep you in the dark about the details. Though Jake didn't doubt your sincerity, there were still too many unknowns about you.
You really didn't mind that they got quiet whenever you were near. Your mind was already at maximum anxiety with Travis, your brother, still being in the Intensive Care Unit. Your parents had been acting unusually as the week progressed and Travis didn't get better. According to the police report he'd been seen drinking heavily with friends before trying to drive home. Usually one of his friends would be the designated driver and keep everyone's keys but, somehow, Travis had gotten his keys.
And now your parents seemed to be readjusting their life plans, and yours as well. The one time you were allowed to visit the hospital you'd overheard your parents murmuring about "he can't be seen like this," "he'll be seen as weak," and other similar thoughts. It made you worried you and Jake would be even more under their scrutiny, set to even higher standards. Your breath hitched as you realized they may demand a grandchild to help change the public perception of the family to one of hope or something like that.
You and Jake were getting ready for your first public event as a couple. You're helping Jake pick out the right suit while doing your best to answer his questions about what to expect, what is appropriate conversation, how much both of you needed to talk to others before you could leave. You know you're missing things. Jake does, too. But neither of you can think of the questions to ask so you establish a silent signal for help. Jake squeezes your hand three times and you either step in or whisper some advice in his ear. It's not a great system, but it's all you can do for now.
Jake hates how he looks in all of this but he knows it's not about him or his comfort. At least he doesn't have to wear the torture device you call a dress. The thing looks impossibly tight on you. He's worried about your ability to breathe. And the stiletto heels have you warning him you'll be on his arm all night to help you keep your balance. Jake actually takes comfort in that because he really doesn't want to be left alone at this event. Probably any event, but this first one especially.
As the car pulls up Jake takes a deep breath and you attempt the same.
"We can do this, right?" He says quietly.
"I believe we can," you nod. You gently squeeze his hand in reassurance like you did that first morning with the parents.
He nods, "let's do this."
As soon as he's able Jake is out of the car and opening your door for you. The last time he did so you were scared of each other. Now you make sure to give him a small smile of thanks as he takes your hand. The elevator ride to the party is as quiet as the one you took together your wedding night, but less oppressively so. It isn't until the elevator doors open that you both put on your fake smiles. Both of you taking small comfort in the fact that neither of you is suffering alone.
After the first couple hours Jake is ready to punch someone, anyone, just so he can be forced to leave since he's not allowed out yet. He's incredibly grateful you insisted on eating a little something beforehand. The food here is barely edible and dissolves faster than cotton candy. He hates the wine? Champagne? Whatever the hell it is, he hates the taste of it but, in following your lead, he knows he has to at least sip often enough to warrant a replacement glass every 30 minutes or so. Jake was grateful to have your weight on his arm to help keep him grounded.
Especially when Charles Blackwood, a "friend" of his from high school, showed up. Charles had been nothing but a leech throughout all of high school but Jake was desperate for some kind of friendship.
"Jacob! Where have you been?" Charles holds out his hand and Jake grips it firmly.
"I've been okay, Charles. You?"
"Holy crap, you're married now? Is that why you finally came out of hiding?"
"Sort of," he admits.
He goes to introduce you but Charles stops him. "I know this lovely lady quite well," he admits. You avert your eyes. "We were engaged for some time."
"You were?"
"Didn't she tell you?" Charles smirks. "Would've been married for two years now if her parents hadn't stepped in."
"For once I'm glad they did," you interject. "You're a conman who shouldn't be here."
Charles gives a small laugh, "well look who finally grew up. Too bad you didn't pick up on what was going on before I got you into bed." Your cheeks burn with embarrassment. "How are those dolphin projects going?"
"Sharks," Jake snipes. "Her focus was on sharks."
"Ooo, nerd standing up for nerd. How cute."
"You need to leave us alone," Jake fumes. "She is my wife and I won't let you insult her."
Charles scoffs, "since when can you fight?"
"Since boot camp."
That gives Charles pause. He searches Jake's face for tells that he's lying but finds none.
"Yeah, alright," Charles concedes. "Just don't ruin this party for me. Lots of other potential targets."
As soon as he was out of hearing range you let out a breath. "I'm so sorry," your voice quavers. "I should have...I should have told you."
"Told me what? That your ex-fiance is an asshole? That's not something you need to divulge."
"No...that...that I'm not..."
Jake leans in so that you're the only one who hears him. "You're more than just your virginity status. I'm sorry your first time was with him, he doesn't seem the type to make your pleasure a priority, but I'm not upset that you've had sex before."
You take as deep a breath as you can to steady yourself. "Thank you for that."
"So, can we leave the party yet?"
You check Jake's watch, trying not to be obvious about it. "We've got at least another half hour."
"When we do get out of here, would you be up for going out for some real food?"
You chuckle, "maybe delivery? Or take out? I'm not going to be able to eat much in this dress."
"Fair. And thank you for helping me get through all of this."
"Thank you for listening to my advice," you counter.
"Always," Jake affirms.

For Thy Sweet Love
Umemiya Hajime x F!Reader

about: There's someone new at the park today. Umemiya, happily married with two kids, isn't a fan of how this man gravitates towards you
“My nephew loves this park,” says a voice to your right. You glance over, unsure if the young man is talking to you or into a phone you can’t see. He catches your eye and grins—no phone, then. “Last week, he said the swings were his favorite, and now he claims the slides are the most fun he’s ever had.”
He sticks out a hand in greeting. “Nishida Hideo. A pleasure to meet you.”
There’s no harm in making a new acquaintance at the park. It’s nice, knowing the other frequent visitors, making your trips here less lonely on the days Hajime’s stuck at work. Puts you at ease, surrounded by people you can chat with. You accept his handshake, offering your name in return, silently appreciative his touch doesn’t linger once you gently pull your hand away. “How old is your nephew?”
“Six. He’s the little terror currently reigning as king atop the slides,” Hideo replies, tilting his head in the direction of said slides. You follow the gesture, eyes landing on a little boy whose black hair has the same cowlick as his uncle’s. His tiny fists are planted atop his hips, mouth moving as he explains the rules of whatever game he and your son—also six—have created. At least, you hope it’s just silly rules, instead of something rude or the age old you can’t play with me.
You squint a little, right hand raising to shield your face, and see the smile on your Yuzuru’s face. That same wide, open grin he inherited from his dad. Your lips quirk up as you turn back to Nishida. “He seems to rule his subjects well.”
“Is that your son up there?”
“Mhm. Also six. He loves making new friends.” Yet another thing he inherited from Hajime. Nishida’s nephew shouts something, raising his tiny arms up and stepping aside. Yuzuru, with a loud laugh also courtesy of his father—honestly, you’d hardly know Yuzuru was also yours if he hadn’t inherited your hair color—positions himself belly-down on the slide. Pushing himself with his arms, he goes flying, landing in the woodchips covering the park ground, giggling like a maniac all the while. You sigh fondly; you’ll be cleaning woodchips off him until bath time tonight.
Nishida’s nephew follows suit as soon as Yuzuru stands up. They brush themselves off, then climb back up the staircase next to the slides, presumably to do it all over again. A handful of woodchips cling to the back of your boy’s shirt, and his fellow conspirator has one stuck to his cheek.
“To be a child again,” Nishida says wistfully. “They make me tired just watchin’ them.”
A small snort escapes you. “Try parenting. It’s just as exhausting as you think it is, and yet, there’s nothing in the world I love more. Do you watch your nephew often?”
Nishida gives you a sidelong glance, like he doesn’t quite believe how people could willingly love something so tiresome. “Every couple weeks or so. My sister and her husband own a shop on market street. I try to help out by takin’ him off their hands.”
Yuzuru flies down the slides again. This time, when he pops back up, he gives you a wave. You eagerly wave back; some days, you can hardly believe the tiny baby you once cradled in your arms every night has grown into such a big kid.
“That’s kind of you. Which shop—” You begin to ask, cutting off as movement catches in the corner of your eye. A newcomer has arrived at the playground in the form of your three and a half year old daughter. Shiori’s tiny pigtails bounce as she toddles along, calling for her big brother. You smile again—she’s fearless, so long as Yuzuru’s around. The boy in question momentarily abandons his game, turning towards his sister. You tilt your head, looking for Hajime. He shouldn’t be too far behind your runaway girl.
Nishida, now busy shouting a hello to his nephew, misses the commotion. Just as well; despite the sunny day, a shiver unexpectedly runs down your spine as you finally spot your husband’s approaching figure.
Umemiya Hajime is not a jealous man.
Protective, certainly, and fiercely loyal to those he loves. Never once in all the years you’ve been together has he acted out of jealousy.
Yet now, you feel the same aura that so frightened any and all who opposed Bofurin and commanded the utmost respect from his fellow members. You think Nishida asks you something, but all your focus rests on Hajime, wondering what, exactly, has ruffled his feathers.
He grows closer, features becoming distinct, and it’s then you notice the edge to his smile, the hard glint in his eyes. The tails of his coat snap behind him, in time with his purposeful strides. He doesn’t look like a father who just spent the last twenty minutes calming down his tearful little girl from a scraped knee.
Umemiya Hajime looks every inch the former leader of Bofurin.
An arm wraps around your waist before you can think of anything to say. His right arm, you note, which he uses to tug you closer. You spare a glance first for your children—slides abandoned, they happily chase each other up and down the jungle gym steps—then to Nishida, whose face has gone carefully blank.
“Haji—” You begin, then stop. You don’t know what to say.
A rogue piece of hair has come loose from its usual slicked back style. Normally, you’d brush it aside, laughing as he uses your proximity as an excuse to kiss you senseless. He’s not feeling play now.
In mirror to your own greeting earlier, Hajime sticks out his left hand to Nishida. Sunlight glints off the golden wedding band adorning your husband’s ring finger, and you know he was planning this the moment he began stalking over here.
“Great day to be at the park, isn’t it? Umemiya Hajime. My wife’s such a great conversation partner, isn’t she?”
Nishida stares at Hajime for a heartbeat, then slowly accepts the offered hand. From your place tucked against his side, you can feel the tense line of his muscles, a snake coiled to strike if provoked. You don’t have anything against Nishida, and his nephew plays quite nicely with both Yuzuru and Shiori. You want to be annoyed, even a little angry, but you know Hajime. He wouldn’t act like this unless he had good reason.
“Y-yeah, she is,” Nishida replies, quickly retracting his hand. Nervousness has replaced his earlier ease, and you don’t miss the way his eyes dart over to the children, who have commandeered the swing sets. Yuzuru must have helped Shiori onto one; now he’s twisting her round and round while she kicks her legs in delight. One of her pigtails has started to come loose. Nishida’s nephew propels himself on the other swing.
A throat clears. Nishida’s, you realize, as he casually slips his phone out of his pocket. “I should be getting back. Thanks for chatting with me,” he says to you, phone still in hand. Another look at Hajime. “…I’ll see you around.”
“Have a great day!” Hajime calls as Nishida scurries away. His nephew pouts. Your children halt their own game, offering loud farewells of their own. There’s a moment where you think someone will start throwing a tantrum—Nishida’s nephew, mainly—but the man quickly scoops his young charge into his arms and carries him off.
Hajime releases you with a sigh once Nishida’s retreating figure disappears, all that coiled tension dissipating in a puff of air. He smiles at you like nothing happened. “What were you thinking about for lunch?”
You stare at him in disbelief. Is he not going to say anything? It takes a moment for your tongue to unstick from the roof of your mouth, and when it does, you can’t stop the hiss that escapes. “Hajime, you didn’t have to scare him off like that!”
He tilts his head, gesture almost boyish. You know better. “He said he had to leave.”
“Because of you!”
“Baby—”
“Mama! Mama! Pus’ me, p’ease?” Shiori shouts. You sigh, glaring at Hajime to let him know this conversation isn’t over. Plastering a smile on your face, you happily trot over to the swing sets. Yuzuru has claimed the one left empty by Nishida’s nephew, leaving his baby sister to wiggle pitifully in her seat. A bright, floral patterned bandage sticks to her right knee.
“How’s my brave little girl?” You coo, planting a kiss atop her head. She giggles, sticking her leg up while you set about fixing her loose pigtail.
“Dada fixeded me!”
“He’s quite talented at patching up owies, isn’t he?” Against your better judgement, your hands still, chin tilting up to find Hajime standing alone where you left him, hands tucked casually into his pockets. He’s watching you and the kids with undiluted joy.
You’re still upset with him, but the look on his face tempers some of your annoyance.
“Mhm!”
“I’m glad, my love.” Pigtail fixed, you gently take her tiny hands in yours, placing them around the metal chains holding up the swing. “Ready? One, two, three!” On three, you give her a light push, sending her soaring into the air.
Twenty minutes later, everyone’s safely buckled in their car seats, hands thoroughly cleaned courtesy of your stash of baby wipes in the glove box. Hajime passes around a water bottle from the driver’s seat, while you stand at the back passenger door, shaking woodchips out of Shiroi’s shoes.
“Mama, can we listen to Bluey?” Yuzuru asks, idly running a toy motorcycle up and down the car window.
“In a minute, baby,” you reply. Shoes free of debris, you shimmy them back onto Shiori’s little feet. She’s clutching the metal water bottle in both her hands.
“T’anks, mama.”
“You’re welcome,” and it’s accompanied with a loud smooch to her forehead. You take the water from her, stealing a quick sip. She giggles, waving as you close the passenger door. You clamber into your own seat with a relieved sigh. Park days are fun yet exhausting.
Yuzuru, never one to forget anything, pouts. “Mama, can we listen to Bluey now?”
The car engine roars to life. You fiddle with your phone, queuing up the latest Bluey album while telling Shiori yes, you did see how fast she went down the slide, and you know she’s hungry, reassuring her that lunch will be made as soon as you get through the door at home. She kicks her legs out again, pretending she’s still on the swings. Your hand snakes between the car door and the seat, questing fingers latching playfully around one small ankle. “Got you!”
She squeals, delighted, kicking harder now. “Shake her off,” Yuzuru encourages, and now you laugh, releasing your hold.
“You’re too strong for me, my love,” you say, shaking out your hand.
“’Cause I eats my gebtables,” she replies seriously.
Haji laughs, grinning at you as he backs the van out of the parking spot. It soothes the remainder of your irritation—that smile of his always makes you melt. “That’s right, baby,” he agrees.
Shiori asks for more water. You oblige, passing the bottle back. Yuzuru starts humming along to Bluey. Hajime rolls slowly to a stop at the intersection. It’s all so normal, so perfect. Almost enough for you to forget about Haji’s odd behavior.
Yuzuru may have inherited most of his father’s looks, but he got his knack for persistency from you. Gently, you prod Hajime’s arm. “What was all of that about, earlier?”
He sighs. Flicks his eyes up to the rearview mirror, looking at your children in the reflection. They aren’t visibly paying attention, although your son listens to far more than he lets on. Scary, how often he asks about things you were positive he wasn’t within hearing distance for.
Hajime’s hand flexes around the steering wheel, like he’s fighting off the urge to rub the back of his neck. You squeeze his shoulder this time. He’s the most responsible driver you know—and it makes your heart ache whenever you think of why.
“I was a little jealous,” he admits, softly.
“A little?”
“…a lot,” he concedes, flicking on the turn signal. “I didn’t like the way he was looking at you. Something about his manner set me off.”
You frown in thought, playing back your interaction with Nishida in your head. Nothing struck a warning bell inside your own head. Other than the strange look he gave you when you said how much you loved being a parent. Overall, you’d considered Nishida nice enough. Not someone you’d want to become best friends with, but a decent enough park companion.
“I thought he was gentlemanly enough,” you say carefully, trying to see the interaction through your husband’s eyes. Maybe Nishida ended up a bit too far into your personal space, towards the end of your conversation. Half of your attention had been on Yuzuru by that point; the other half was worried about Shiori’s wounded knee.
“It’s how he kept watching you when you weren’t looking. Like he was sizing you up.”
You didn’t feel anything untoward coming from Nishida. Then again, Haji’s always had a gift for reading people and their intentions. You lean over, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “I’m yours, always and forever.”
Those impossibly blue eyes of his land on yours. “I love you.”
Yuzuru, no longer occupied with Bluey or his motorcycle, blows a raspberry. “Gross!”

TECH
Tech, even for all his difficulty deciphering traditional displays of emotions, can feel the ire rolling off of his brother in waves. “I do not understand why you are angry with me,” he admits, trying to match pace with the cadet who seems determined to stay several steps ahead.
“It wasn’t your fight, Tech,” Crosshair snaps.
“Your fight is always my fight,” Tech argues. “We are a squad.”
“You are a di’kut!” Crosshair groans, putting his hands to his head and grabbing fistfuls of pale hair. “Hunter is going to kill me.”
“Why?”
“Because I can’t keep my mouth shut, can I? And now look at you!”
Tech has no ability to look at himself as directed; however, he is aware that he does not look as he did when he and Crosshair left the barracks. He is trying to ignore the obvious crack in the right lens of his goggles, and his injuries likely match Crosshair’s: bruises, swelling, and split skin now covered in bacta patches. The Kaminoan medics had not been pleased when the trainers brought in an entire class of cadets.
“We will tell him it was my fault,” Tech says.
Crosshair stops walking, grabbing Tech’s arm to make him stop too. “Why would we do that?”
“It isn’t entirely a lie,” Tech tells him. “After all, you only said what you said because of me.”
“Stop trying to save me, Tech.” Crosshair shoves him. “You don’t always have to be the hero.”
Tech stares at him. “What?”
“I made my choice,” Crosshair hisses, shoving him again, hard. “You shouldn’t have to pay for it.”
“Why are you doing this?” Tech asks. “Why are you pushing me away? Why won’t you let me help you?”
Crosshair lunges forward, catching the front of Tech’s uniform shirt in his fists, pulling him close, and snarls, “I didn’t ask for your help. I told you to run. Plan 88. Did you hear me? Plan 88!”
“Plan 88? What is Plan 88?” Tech tries to pull away, prying at Crosshair’s grip with shaking fingers, frightened by the sheer hatred in his brother’s voice. He’s never been scared of Crosshair. Not until…
And then Crosshair isn’t a cadet anymore. He is in the Empire’s armor. The Empire. Order 66.
“Crosshair,” Tech gasps out, and he wraps his desperate, trembling fingers around his brother’s wrists instead. “We’re coming for you. We’re coming!”
“I didn’t ask you to,” Crosshair reiterates, but some of the hatred has leaked out. “I didn’t ask you to die.”
“I’m not dead,” Tech tells him.
Crosshair tips his head. “You look dead to us.”
Tech wakes gasping for breath, Crosshair’s voice raw and sharp still echoing in his ears. He moves to sit up, and while his entire body protests the movement, he doesn’t care. The pain means that he is awake. That he is alive. That he isn’t dead.
You look dead to us.
“Tech?” Kandria is standing a few meters away from him, her arms wrapped around a bundle. “Are you alright?”
“I’m fine,” he tells her, but his voice betrays him. He swallows and glares down at his hands still trembling in his lap.
“Okay,” Kandria says. She steps closer. “I brought you some clothes. Real clothes, that is.” She sets the stack on the cot beside him and lifts the top article. She holds it reverently, her thumbs brushing over the heavy, knitted material. “This sweater was my father’s.”
“Thank you,” he tells her, and he hopes she can hear the depth of his sincerity.
“Do you need help?” she asks, replacing the sweater to the stack.
“I think I can manage,” Tech says, offering a thin smile.
Kandria nods. “I’ll come back in a few minutes then with your breakfast. And Uncle Garo wants me to make a list of the parts you’ll need to build a transmitter radio.”
“Excellent. Thank you, Miss Kandria.”
The use of her name seems to surprise her, and she grins. “You’re welcome, Tech.”
He waits until she has left the room before attempting further movement. He examines the clothing. The trousers look like they will be too wide and too short; however, they are in far better shape than his blacks. The sweater is softer than he anticipated. It is mostly dark blue, but the collar, cuffs and hem are edged in an earthy yellow design.
It takes him far longer to change than he would like, and it makes him realize just how far he will need to come in his recovery before he is in any position of escaping himself, let alone with the girl in tow. He knows that he will not be allowed to freely make contact with his brothers, let alone simply leave.
There is a tentative knock.
“I am done,” Tech calls out.
The door slides open and Kandria comes in with a flimsi notebook and a bowl of something that somehow smells both savory and sweet. He is sitting on the edge of the cot, and Kandria sits next to him, handing Tech the bowl.
“It’s porridge,” she tells him, then whispers, “My own special recipe.”
Tech takes a tentative bite and is pleasantly impressed. “It is surprisingly good.”
“Thanks,” Kandria says, smiling.
Tech continues to eat while Kandria draws little doodles on the edges of the flimsi.
“Crosshair is your brother with enhanced eyesight, isn’t he?” she asks suddenly.
Tech nearly chokes on the bite he was swallowing. “Pardon?” he asks, although he knows exactly what she said; he just needs a moment to compose himself.
“You said his name in your sleep,” Kandria explains. “You sounded so sad. Did something happen to him too?”
“Too?” Tech echoes.
“Well, something happened to you,” Kandria says, as though it is obvious.
And it is.
“Oh,” Tech says.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to,” Kandria tells him gently. “I just know sometimes it helps to talk about things when you’re sad. But not always.”
Tech stirs at the remnant remains of his porridge. “Crosshair is a prisoner of the Empire. We were trying to get information as to his location when…when I fell.”
“Your other family was with you?” Kandria asks.
Tech nods, because the words catch in his throat.
“So they think you are dead.” It isn’t a question. There is no question. Who could survive such a fall? Tech isn’t even sure how it is possible…and he was there…is here…
You look dead to us.
“I’m sorry,” Kandria whispers.
Tech clears his throat. “I will not be lost forever, and neither will Crosshair,” he tells her firmly, because verbalizing it might somehow make it true.
Kandria nods, and there is a certainty to the action that Tech appreciates deeply. He wants to tell her that he intends to take her with him, that he will not leave her behind; however, he isn’t yet sure how she would take such information, if it would be well received. She is not safe here, and her uncle does not deserve to have her in his care. It is in her best interest that she be rescued. Victims don’t always realize.
“I suppose we’d better get started on this transmitter then,” Kandria says.
KANDRIA
“Why don’t clones have normal names?”
Jaunt laughs. “What’re you talkin’ about, kid? You saying my name ain’t normal?”
“Yes,” Kandria tells him unabashedly.
“Rude,” Jaunt huffs, but the grin on his face tells her that he isn’t actually mad. She doesn’t think she’s ever seen him mad. “You know, my name wasn’t always Jaunt. We used to have to go by our CT numbers. Still do on official documents and all that; however, unlike you natborns, we get to choose our names…or at least get given a name by our brothers that matches our charming personalities.”
Kandria smiles. “Did you pick your name?”
“Nope! It was given to me by one of my batchmates. We did a training exercise where we had to go on a thirty-six standard hour hike off-world. Afterwards, I said, sarcastically of course, ‘Well, that was a nice little jaunt.’” Jaunt uses both hands to indicate himself. “And just like that, my name was born.”
“Do you like your name?”
“Not at first. I was hoping for something more hardcore like Droid Slayer…but it’s grown on me.”
“What name would you give me, if I were a clone?” Kandria asks.
Jaunt stops walking to look down at her thoughtfully. “You want a clone name?”
Kandria nods eagerly.
“Well, then, you’ll have to earn it,” Jaunt tells her, then turns on his heel and continues on his patrol.
Kandria gapes after him for a moment before jogging to catch up. “How?”
Jaunt shrugs. “I don’t make the rules, kiddo, I just follow them.”
“Will you tell me when I earn it?”
“‘Course I will. You can bet your bottom credit I’ll have a clone name picked for you by the end of the war.”
Kandria grins and wonders what her clone name will be.
“Can you tell me about your name?” Kandria asks.
Tech does not look up from the wire he is stripping. “What do you mean?”
Kandria hesitates, then rephrases her question. “Did you pick your name or did your brothers?”
“Ah,” Tech says. “Our names more or less identify with our enhancements. They are rather obvious.”
“Oh.” Disappointed by the short answer, Kandria continues stripping her own wire, carefully following Tech’s example.
Tech hums thoughtfully. “You seem well acquainted with clone culture.”
“I was friends with a clone trooper,” Kandria says. “He told me a lot.”
“What was his name?”
Kandria hesitates. “Jaunt.”
“I assume his name has a humorous backstory,” Tech comments.
“When he was a cadet, he called a thirty-six hour training hike a ‘nice little jaunt’.” Kandria is surprised at how nice it feels to talk about him.
Tech chuckles. “That reminds me of my brother Echo…he was not originally a member of our squad; however, his name was similarly acquired. He had an unfortunate habit of echoing information to his original squad. He still does, if I am being honest.”
“Echo,” Kandria says. “That’s a nice name.”
“He was not always fond of it,” Tech says. “But he seems pleased with it now.”
Kandria laughs.
“Our sister, Omega, was named like a natborn in a way,” Tech continues. “As far as I am aware, she was decanted with that name. You and Omega will get along well, I think.”
Kandria nearly drops the wire and blade in her hands, turning to look up at Tech. He has gone still as well, his dark eyes wide. “Ah,” he says, almost to himself, and she hears him swallow. He puts down the wire. “That is…I think that if the two of you ever met, you would get along.”
A question burns on Kandria’s tongue, one she hadn’t even dared to hope to ask, hadn’t even considered a possibility. “You’ll take me with you?” Her voice comes out as a breathless whisper.
She isn’t sure Tech heard her until he gives a single nod, a lift and drop of his head. “That is the plan.”
“The plan,” Kandria echoes, and she feels the thrill of terrified excitement.
“I have not been given the impression that you are safe or happy with your uncle and cousins,” Tech says, and his voice is quiet, even though they both know that the men in question are away from the warehouse.
“My father would not have wanted me with them,” Kandria says, moving her eyes to the floor. “Jaunt tried to protect me, but…he couldn’t forever.”
Tech nods again. “I know that it is a lot to ask, but I hope you will trust me.”
Impulsively, Kandria drops her wire and grasps his now empty hand, gripping it tight. “I do!” she insists.
Tech looks surprised by the sudden contact, but he does not pull away. “It will not be easy,” Tech tells her, “and there are risks.”
Kandria nods. “I know.”
“Good,” Tech says. “Then I can count on your discretion? We must not give Garo any reason to believe we have any sort of scheme.”
Kandria nods again.
Tech’s hand until this moment has been slack in hers; however, now, he curls his fingers around hers and squeezes briefly before pulling away. “I will give you information as you need it; otherwise, it is safer that you remain in the dark.”
“Okay,” Kandria agrees, even if she longs to ask more questions. She does trust him. She has to trust him.
Because there is no one else left in the galaxy for her to trust.

Give it Up Pt. 1
18+ Dark Content. f!reader. step brother!Bucky. college student reader.
~
Dear Diary, Is it bad that I had that dream again? Fuck its been going on for years but it still makes me wake up wet and aching to be ruined. Its always the same. He sneaks into my room to find me touching myself (I'm always touching myself before bed every night lets be real) and just locks the door before coming over to move my hand away. "No touching my pussy without permission, sis. Do I make myself fucking clear?" "Yes." Every time he teases me, circling my clit light enough that I can't cum. "Yes, what?" No matter how guilty it makes me it also makes me want to cum so hard. "I won't touch your pussy big brother."
"Bucky!! Mom said she found more gift wrap, you can leave it." Bucky nearly jumps out of his skin, tearing his gaze away from the raunchy words in your neat handwriting. You'd filled page after page and the diary was nearly full. You liked free use, roleplay where he blackmailed you into being his slut, humiliation play, anal.. the more he flipped through the pages the harder he got.
"Bucky!! Did you hear me?" You called again, sounding so sweet and innocent like you usually do. Except now he knew the truth.
Innocent my ass.
"Yeah sis, I heard ya!" He called back tucking the book back into its hiding place behind the towels in the hallway closet.
When he came back into the living room you were on your knees, arranging the presents under the tree and looking every inch like the casual college student. But now that he knew what was really going on in that head of yours? He couldn't stop looking for outward signs of your perversion.
"Something on my face?" You asked when you noticed your brother staring at you with a weird intensity.
All Bucky could think about was painting your face with his cum in response. He had to shake himself before he could smile somewhat normally.
"Nothing. So about the tree.."
~
He never caught you writing in the diary, but new pages kept showing up every few days when he checked the closet. So he started to plan. Because there was no way he was going to be able to rest, your words had invaded his dreams.
Every spare moment was spent jacking his cock until he blew his load all over his fist, thinking of you and your filthy fucking fantasies. You'd written that you were technically still a virgin since you didn't think all your toys counted. The thought of you fucking your own ass with a fake cock usually is what got Bucky off more often than not. It agonized him wondering which hole to fuck first. Because he knew your pussy would be heaven too. Had to be attached to such a wicked girl.
If he was going to be tormented by this then you were too.
It started small, little touches that you wouldn't bat an eye over. Hands on your hips to help you reach the top of the tree, tucking a curl behind your ear, a kiss to the top of the head.
But then he ramped it up, a hand a little too high on your thigh until you were squirming and making excuses to move. A slap to your ass with a joking grin and a distracting question to leave you flustered and flushed. Lingering a second too long after kissing your cheek before pulling away and acting like nothing happened.
It was slight, but he could see it now. The faraway look in your eye and the way your thighs clenched together every time. You were lost in your own head thinking something depraved and god he needed his hands on you for real.
~
Christmas Eve was the last straw. You had a party to go to, something with some asshole called Walker who Bucky didn't know but didn't like on principle. But when he saw how you were dressed? A deep green excuse of a dress wrapped around your body like it was molded to your curves, and stopped mid thigh. Your tits were nearly spilling out before you quickly covered up with a jacket when your mom came closer.
"I'll drive you." Bucky said close enough in earshot of your parents that your mom agreed instantly, just like he'd wanted.
"But mom, its a date, why would you do that to me?" You whined. But your mother just smiled brightly at you.
"Keep complaining I'll have him pick you up too." You groaned and glared at Bucky playfully, mumbling as you walked outside. "Lets go then."
~
Bucky's car smelt like him, and the leather seats seemed to hug you back. It was always too intimate for you and you hated that he was clearly enjoying himself.
"You didn't have to say it so damned loud. You know how she gets." You complained as he blasted the heat before starting to drive, just snorting at you.
"Who knows if this guy is even worthy of you sis? It's my job to protect that pretty little pussy of yours." He spoke casually, but the way his eyes cut to yours was boldly intentional before he turned his attention back to the road was hard to misunderstand. This was him making a move.
"Bucky! What- you can't just-" You spluttered completely caught off guard.
"Can't just what? Talk about your pussy? You talk about my dick enough in that black book you keep in the closet." And just like that you were throbbing between your legs from being caught, the embarrassment making your clit throb along to your heartbeat. All the previous teasing touches flooded your brain, and you groaned as you hung your head in embarrassment. Had you really not noticed the way he'd been hunting you?
"We're gonna make a quick stop before your party sis. Gotta give your gift." His words were a purr, and you would later deny you ever whimpered from his voice alone.
"You better not give it up to any guy but me unless I say its alright, you got that? Can't just have you spreading your legs for anyone I don't approve of. You're my little sister and its my job to protect you" He continued to give you the big brother lecture, twisted as it was. And as much as you hated it, since you knew the bastard was doing it on purpose just to highlight how taboo it was for you to want him, your mind was running wild and you were drenching your panties.
You should've been ashamed of yourself, but all you wanted was for him to pull over and fuck you over the hood of his car.
~
Steve's studio apartment was practically Bucky's as well and you knew this, but still the fact that your brother had a key turning the lock without even having to stop kissing you made you realize how often he was over here.
"So this is how you dress when you're not doing the innocent college sweetheart routine." He groaned as he palmed your ass cheek through your dress, his erection pressing into your hip with no remorse. "Might have to fight Walker if he sees you in it though."
"Don't care about him," you gasped as he kissed down your throat and sucked a hickey into your skin. Every touch of his made your desire burn brighter, driving you insane like his fingers had on the drive over tracing the slit of your pussy over and over without touching your clit.
"No, you're saving yourself f'me right?" He unzipped your dress slowly, like he was unwrapping a present. Your matching black bra and panties looked sinful on you.
"Bucky," you mumbled shyly as you tried to cover yourself.
"Don't hide from me. If we're gonna do this sis, you play by my rules." His voice was rough and husky but completely serious as he watched you. And your clit throbbed from his words, your hands falling to your sides as you let him look.
"Good girl." The praise made you wanna preen under his attention. "Now take it off. All of it."
You unhooked your bra easily, watching how Bucky's eyes were locked on your tits as soon as they were free. He twirled his finger when you reached for the band of your panties so you turned and let him see exactly how much he affected you as you bent over.
The weight of his gaze threatened to break you before he even laid on a hand on you. You heard his foot steps circling you as you straightened up, trembling with anticipation. Wondering where he would touch you first.
His arm snaked around your waist before pulling you closer, his mouth sucking hot kisses up your neck.
"B-Bucky," You moaned brokenly in his arms, clinging to him like you'd always wanted to.
"You have no idea what your little book did to my brain baby. Can't stop thinking about all the ways I can ruin you, especially now that I know how much you'll like it." Bucky started walking you to the bed, never letting you out of his arms as he bite and licked and marked your throat.
Then you were airborn with a squeak bouncing on Steve's bed as a tiny box bounced with you. It was wrapped with a bow and had your name on it. "Is this?"
"Open it." Bucky started to tug off his clothes, and you were torn between finally getting to see his cock and the present in your hands. But curiousity got the best of you and you opened it, the mistletoe with a tiny bell attached jingling as you lifted it out of the box.
"You hold onto that. Drop it or shake it if you need me to stop, or something happens that you don't like." Understanding dawned on you, even as it made you clench your thighs together. "Unless you drop it, I'm not stopping. Even if you beg for a break, or make me work for it. I'll fuck what's mine."
"Bucky.." Your voice was barely above a whisper, taking in everything he'd said as finally, he unbuckled the belt of his jeans.
You closed your fist around the mistletoe tightly.
"Knew you'd like that, perv."

My Heart, My Ruin (Chapter 2/?)
(sorry if this chapter is on the shorter side, I got back on a med I hadn't had in a while because my doctors weren't refilling it, and one of the side effects of this med is making me tired and fatigued. I honestly didn't even know if I would get chapter 8 of The Red Queen so I'm really sorry if this is short, or not written well or anywhere near as well as I try usually, I'm just trying to stay awake to get this out. sorry for the rant I'm gonna let you read now lol)
28 ac
Rhaellas Pov
I try not to fidget as Papa makes a speech, it's my sixth nameday which means I'm officially a big girl.
“I warn you all, our little girl is a curious one. She will ask about the gift you have given her and want all the details. There is a reason we call her our curious dragon.” Papa says making all the lords laugh and making me blush and hide my face in my hands.
“So let us feast on this great day as we celebrate my sweet little girl, my firstborn, for her sixth nameday!” Papa finishes making everyone cheer as they take sips of their wine.
He bends down and kisses my forehead and whispers. “Happy nameday my curious dragon.”
“Thank you, Papa.” I say making him smile before he and Mama walk down the steps of the high table to talk to some of the lords.
“When will you get to open your presents?” Rhaena asks picking at the food on her plate.
“Yeah, we're bored!” Aegon my little brother exclaims. He's only two but he's very smart, Mama calls him her little genius.
“I'm sure Papa or Grandsire will announce when I can open them.” I say grabbing Aegon's arm before he runs off. Have I mentioned he also never stops running! How he can run into a tree head first and laugh before running again is beyond me. I hope the baby in Mama's belly is a girl, I can't handle another brother.
“I want to see the dragons!” Aegon demands stomping his feet.
He always throws tantrums if he doesn't get his way so I try and find Mama or Papa in the crowd of lords and ladies.
“Don't speak to your sister that way boy.” I hear the deep and cold voice of Kepus.
Aegon stops and turns to look up at him just when I do too. I know Kepus must be mad from the scowl on his face.
“I just wanted to say hi to Quicksilver.” Aegon says sheepishly already turning to hide in the shirts of my dress.
Kepus only hums before taking a sip of wine from his chalice. Thankfully for Aegon and Rhaena Papa and Mama seem to have had their nursemaids come to get them as it's time for them to go to sleep.
Once my siblings are taken away Kepus sits in the chair next to me that was previously taken by Rhaena.
“Happy nameday, ñuha prūmia. I got you something.” He says as he reaches into his jerkin pocket. He holds something in his fist holding it out to me. “Hold your hands out, ñuha prūmia.”
I do as he told me, holding my hands out under his. When he opens it I'm ready to catch something but nothing falls into my hands, but when I look at his hand I see he's dangling a beautiful necklace from his pointer finger. It has purple stones that appear almost like tear drops, and the metal looks like a darker silver.
“Happy nameday, ñuha prūmia.”
“It's wonderful, where did you get it?” I ask, reaching out to feel the cool metal against the skin of my palms.
“It was in our family archives, supposedly it was Daenys the Dreamers. It's made of Valyrian steel and is encrusted with amethysts. Daenys was always said to love amethysts.” He says with a soft smile.
“Daenys? she wore this?” I ask excitedly, he knows how much I adore Daenys the Dreamer. I've probably made him read me the story of her more than a hundred times by now.
“That's what the Maester said, now turn around let me help put it on you.” He says in that tone that I know means he's not asking, he's telling.
So I do as he says turning in my seat so my back is to him and grab my curly hair hoping I got it all. I feel the chill of the metal against my throat as I feel Kepus clip it.
“There, now let me see.” I hear him say as he gently takes my hair out of my hands so it can fall down my back once more
I turn and look up at him watching as he smiles fondly. “Lovely, it matches your dress wonderfully, but it matches those eyes much better.”
I smile touching the pink velvet dress Mama gave me for my Nameday. It has gold dragon embroidered along the skirt and at the neckline. But for some reason his words about my eyes is what makes me blush. But my joy is soon cut off my none other than Ceryse Hightower.
“I see you've given her the present you chose.” She says resting her hand on Kepus's shoulder.
I watch as he tense something dark, something cruel flashes in his eyes before they become the stoney ones he lets the world see.
I like the ones he has with me much better. I think before turning to his wife.
“Yes, it's a wonderful gift.” I say trying to stay kind even though I don't like her.
I never knew why I didn't like her, she's kind, gentle, sweet, but she's so boring. Her idea of fun is sitting and sewing, my idea of fun is running in the fields or flying with Papa or Grandsire.
“That's wonderful, I'm glad you like it. Maegor worked very hard to find it. Had to be the perfect one, he said.” She says smiling at Kepus but he only seems to be getting more and more upset.
Cersye seems to catch the tense atmosphere and hands me a black leather journal with red ribbon to tie it. It seems to be imprinted with the Targaryen symbol on the front and back.
“As you are six namedays you'll start your studies with a Septa. I found having a journal helped me to remember my lessons and to take notes. I hope it helps you as much as having one helped me.”
I can't deny that it's a thoughtful gift, and one she seems to have commissioned just for me. She obviously didn't just pick this up at some random book store in a rush. I think, feeling the soft leather against my palms.
“Thank you, it's a lovely gift. I'm sure it will get much use.” I say setting it back on the table.
I'm about to ask if Kepus will dance with me when I hear the music start but his wife beats me to it.
“Dance with me, darling? You know this is my favorite.” She asks, already pulling him out of his chair.
I watch as he walks away with her to dance, I don't know why it hurts my heart seeing him with her, but it does. I hear a dragon roar from outside, it gives a pull at my soul like always.
“Come to me! I'm waiting!” it's starting to sound desperate, if only I could find out where it is. No, where she is.
This is the necklace Maegor gies Rhaella, or at least what I see lol
Special thanks to @sugutoad for making the header for this fic! I swear I'd be lost without you girly!

Hello
See Me Through You Series
You had me at hello
Synopsis: The day that you met the love of your life and didn't realize it until almost a year later
Series Masterlist
Stepping onto the sidewalk as you had just left the building where your journalism class had just ended, your phone suddenly vibrated in your back pocket. It took you a minute to grab it, seeing as both of your hands were occupied at the moment. Doing a balancing act with your purse, backpack, keys and your binder that contained your notes, but was too big to fit in your backpack, you finally had a free hand.
Pulling it out of your back pocket, you saw it was your younger twin brother by three minutes Ja'Marr calling on facetime and took no hesitation to answer it. This was his fifth call to you today and knew that about four more would come your way and the worst part about it was that it wasn't even noon.
Not that you were upset about it. If your little brother called and needed you, he always became the priority and everything would be dropped at that very moment.
“What does your ugly ass want?” You asked him as his face came into view. He promptly rolled his eyes and sucked his teeth before saying anything. You could tell that he was in the gym and was probably waiting on you to get there since you had promised to work out with him.
“If I'm ugly, so are you because we're twins, stupid!”
“No, that's what mom and dad tell you but they actually found you in a dumpster and felt sorry for you and took you in.” You told him as you laughed and started to make your way back to your car to head to your apartment that was off campus.
It was only a few miles down the road which you were thankful for and the good part is that you could also drive home to see your parents on the weekends if you wanted to.
You were relieved when Ja'Marr decided to attend LSU with you because the two of you had never been apart in your entire lives. Deep down you knew that you would have eventually adjusted to him not being at the same college as you, but also glad that you didn't have to go that route.
“Y/N!”
“Just kidding! What do you need assistance with, little one?”
“Little one? I'm 6’1 and you are BARELY 5 feet on a good day. Try again.”
You were suddenly taken aback as you saw someone come into the frame behind him and did a double take once you recognized who it was.
Growing up in a sports filled household, college football as well as the NFL was not foreign to you. You watched both of them and knew players as well as their stats forwards and backwards. So to your surprise, you were actually seeing him in real time. You heard of the transfer happening, but it was different seeing him right in front of you.
So the rumors were true, he was really here.
Joe Burrow
Who used to play for Ohio State apparently was now playing for LSU.
“Ja'Marr, I will hang up. State your business or move on.”
“I thought you were supposed to meet me at the gym to work out AND bring my headphones that I know for a fact you stole.”
“YOU CAN'T PROVE IT!”
“Hmm, funny. I recall you asking me to use them last week and I haven't seen them since.”
“I threw them away.”
“WHY DO YOU ALWAYS DEMAND ON STRESSING ME OUT? And I have someone here I want you to meet.”
“Who?”
“Will you just hurry up and get here and stop arguing with me!? I can pick your ass up and throw you across the room.”
“Hmm, sounds like a threat. I'm calling mommy. Bye.”
“Uh hold on, WAIT! DON'T CALL HER!”
Click.
Once back in your apartment, you quickly changed into your pink and black Fabletics workout set with your matching HOKAS and went on the search not only for Ja'Marr's headphones, but also yours. Since he let you borrow his, you didn’t bother trying to find yours even though you know you should have.
The both of you worked out with each other several times a week and it was important seeing as he played football and you were on the gymnastics team with your best friend, Erin.
Putting your curly hair into a high bun since you didn’t have time to straighten it this morning, you grabbed your wallet, water bottle, and keys before making your way back down to your car and heading to the gym.
Walking inside, you spotted him along with Joe in the corner next to the weight rack and promptly came up behind him and attempted to pick him up as you saw Joe's face giving a small smirk because of the gesture. You admit that you didn't realize how tall Joe actually was and you noticed that he was taller than Ja'Marr when they stood next to one another.
“HEY! Oh, it's just you. Joe, my big little sister by three minutes and she will never let you forget it, Y/N and Y/N this is Joe. And you are never going to be able to pick me up.” He told you while patting the top of your head as you were now trying to pick up his left leg.
“Just you watch. It's going to happen one day when you least expect it. Anyway, Hi Joe, and Ja'Marr you should know better. I already know who you are.” You told him and he looked a little confused before greeting you.
“Hey, you do gymnastics right? I saw you compete over the summer.”
You smiled before nodding, taken aback that he knew who you were also. Not a lot of attention was put on gymnastics unless it was during the Olympics. Your goal was to go to Tokyo in 2020.
“Didn't take you for a gymnastics type of guy.” You replied while attempting to fix your hair that had now fallen out of the bun you put it in. You blamed it on not being tight enough the first time.
“It's entertaining to watch.”
“Hmm, because of the outfits?” You asked as you were trying to feel him out and you could've swore you heard Ja'Marr mutter something under his breath.
“No, I just think it's insane how you can do all those different types of exercises and routines just like it's nothing. You can literally visualize where you're going to land before it happens.”
“It's the same with football when you think about it. You're a quarterback so I can imagine that before you decide where you're going to throw and who you're going to throw to what the end result will be.”
“Something like that.”
“Stop interrogating the man! Sports journalism is her major and she thinks she's smart. So she of course knows all of the players and their stats. I’m convinced she’s going to start memorizing playbooks and try to get on the field with us.” Ja'Marr said as he turned to Joe and you pinched his arm resulting in a yelp as Joe let out a small laugh.
“I'm smarter than your dumbass. That's for sure and are we going to work out or stand here all day? Besides I wasn't interrogating. You can't get to know someone unless you talk to them and ask questions.” You told him as you gave him his headphones.
“I'm ignoring you and what are we working on today?”
“Hmm full body I guess. I already did my legs, back, shoulders and arms this week.” You answered as you shrugged and put in your headphones. Flipping through your phone, you tried to find the perfect playlist in order to get through the workout and hopefully finish strong.
You usually hated working out with Ja’Marr since he would always want to add on something extra at the end of it when you were ready to go home and crawl into the bed.
Joe and Ja’Marr quickly agreed and it was decided that the three of you would warm up by running on the treadmill for three miles before going back to the weight rack.
On your second mile, your music was suddenly cut off by your phone ringing. Looking down you saw that it was Trevor, your boyfriend of one year who happened to play baseball at LSU and that was one of your primary reasons for going there. Also having your brother there was a plus.
Deep down you knew that your brother didn’t like him, but to you he was the best thing since sliced bread and could do no wrong in your eyes. But what you didn’t notice was Ja’Marr glancing over at your phone and seeing it was him and rolling his eyes.
You simply finished out your third mile before going to call him back leaving Ja’Marr there along with Joe who had turned down the speed to a brisk walk as he had done the same.
“I fucking hate her boyfriend.”
“Wait, what? He’s here too?” Joe asked as he was looking around.
“No, I saw that he called her and I’m guessing that she went to go and call him back. I can’t fucking stand him and she could do so much better. But she’s happy and the last thing I want to do is ruin that for her. He honestly treats her like shit from what I’ve seen, but I guess she doesn't see it that way.” He confessed as Joe had his eyes on you as you were standing in the corner. He figured that you were on facetime by the way you were holding it and making gestures with your hands.
“But he makes sure to never do that shit in front of me because I will take his ass down. I’m always going to protect my sister. I honestly wish that she was with someone who respected her and didn’t take her for granted like his ass does. She is honestly the sweetest most generous person despite how much we might bicker and she doesn’t deserve someone who takes her for granted. But you'll eventually be able to see how sweet she is for yourself. She literally lives up under me. When you see me, nine times out of ten she’s not too far behind.”
It was at that moment, you walked back over to them and Ja’Marr could tell that you were visibly upset.
“Pebbles, what’s wrong?” Ja’Marr asked but you simply waved him off.
Ever since you two were about six months old, your aunt on your mother's side started to call the two of you Pebbles and Bam Bam and the nicknames had stuck. It also was no coincidence since your mom used to love watching the Flintstones when she was small just like you and Ja’Marr did.
“Nothing, I’m fine. Let’s hurry up and get this done.” You responded as you felt tears forming in your eyes and you did your best to quickly wipe them away.
“You aren't fine so don't stand up here and lie to me. Did he upset you?”
Joe could now see that he was visibly upset which was in turn making you more upset.
“Don't worry about it, I just want to get this done so I can go back to my apartment and study.”
“If you need me to kick his ass, I stay ready.”
“JA'MARR! NO!”
“And Joe will back me up too. You should see how much he can bench press. No one will know.”
“I… I appreciate both of you very much for offering even though you literally just threw Joe in there without giving him a say in the matter, but I promise I'm good.”
“I'm here for assistance if needed.” Joe said and that put a small smile on your face.
“Yeah about that, show me how much you can bench press.”
“Oh lord, Joe you got her started. Now her competitive ass is going to see if she can beat you. She might be small, but don't let that fool you. She also eats like a grown ass man.”
“Bam Bam, keep talking and I will throw that 60 pound dumbbell at your head.”
The workout was winding down and you wanted to work on your pull ups a little bit more since the upper body was your weakest area. You stood in front of the pull up bar and noticed that Ja'Marr was in the middle of his set, so the only other option was to ask Joe for help to reach the bar since there was no way in the world that you would be able to get up there on your own. But he beat you to it as he walked over to you.
“Need some help?”
“Hmm, definitely yes since there is no way in the world I'll be able to reach it by myself.” You replied as you both laughed.
“I got you. Jump up and I'll lift you the rest of the way.”
Nodding your head, you turned around and felt Joe's light touch on both of your sides. You couldn't quite explain it, but when his hands made contact with your skin, the feeling that it gave you felt unreal. Almost if it was something out of a movie. Shaking it out of your mind, you focused on the task in front of you as you jumped up.
As promised Joe helped you the rest of the way and stepped back once he saw that you were hanging onto the bar.
“Do you mind just standing there to spot me? Pull ups aren't my strongest thing.”
“Yeah, I'll be right here. Go ahead, you think you can do twenty?”
“Hmm, let's find out. I think I can.”
Fifteen of them came with ease and when you started to struggle, you once again felt Joe's hands on your waist and he helped you do the rest of them. You let go of the bar with him then catching you and placing you on your feet.
“Thank you for that.” You told him and you received a cheeky smile in return.
“Any time.”
“By the end of the semester, my plan is to be able to bench press the same weight or more weight than you.” You playfully told him and the smile that he had before became wider.
“I'd love to see that, princess. So let's put some money on it.”
“How much? 50?” You asked not really knowing how much he was willing to put up.
“Nah, you can do better than that.”
“Okay, 500.” You said as you shrugged.
“Damn, I didn't think you would go that high, but okay. Ja'Marr also mentioned to me that since you're the oldest, what you say usually goes between the two of you.”
“He's teaching you well.”
“Hmm, we'll see if that holds up between the two of us.”
“Looks like we just have to see then, won't we Burrow?”
The next day, you found yourself yawning at five in the morning absentmindedly taking small bites of your protein bar as you began to stretch with Erin coming over to sit next to you.
You hated that you had gymnastics practice so early in the day, making all of your classes be in the afternoon or late at night. The campus itself was huge and you didn't always necessarily feel completely safe when you had to walk back to your car late at night.
“So, did you break up with Trevor yet?” She asked as she began to stretch her arms.
“Uh? Good morning to you too, Erin.”
“Good morning, now did you two break up yet?”
“No, Erin.”
She sighed before rolling her eyes and looking at you in disbelief.
“Nobody likes him! Dump his ass! And I don't like the way he treats you. Truth be told, I've never liked him.”
“But I like him!” You exclaimed and she gave you a blank stare.
“Yeah, only you and his bald headed mother. You could do so much better. Oh! Who did you meet yesterday when you went to workout with Ja’Marr? I guess you fell asleep and never read my text.”
“Joe Burrow. He plays quarterback.”
“Oohh, he's cute! I heard about him transferring here. Break up with Trevor and date him! There, problem solved.”
“ERIN!”
“What? You have addressed me by my name a lot this morning. I like my plan and I think it'll work. Besides, he's a sucky ass baseball player. My goal is to get my best friend to become a WAG and being with him is not going to get you very far. He didn't even get a scholarship here. He was a walk-on!”
“I have literally only met that man one time and yeah I've said your name a lot because how do you wake up this unhinged!?”
“So? Love at first sight is an actual thing. I wasn't there, but I know it happened. And it's been that way since we were three.”
“And he did help me with my pull ups yesterday.” You told her as you shrugged your shoulders.
“I'm going to start planning the wedding when we leave. My class doesn't start until one today.” She replied as she smiled at you.
“I…-”
“What are you two going on about over here?” Your other friend Alisha asked as she sat her bag down to the left of her.
“Y/N is getting married to Joe Burrow! We have to start planning!”
“Erin, shut up!”
“Oh, but he's cute. Do you know if he has any brothers?” Alisha replied as she sat down on the other side of you.
“I.. don't but I will find out for you.”
“And slip them my number while we're at it.”
“He helped her during their workout yesterday. At this point, we can say it was their first date.”
“Erin telling everyone's business as usual.”
“Hey! I'm just good at storytelling! And he had the perfect view of your ass if he helped you with your pull ups now that I think about it.”
“Sometimes I honestly cannot believe you're my best friend.” You said as you couldn't contain your laughter anymore.
“And you aren't getting rid of me any time soon.”
Gymnastics practice was always long and draining so you knew what to expect every time. They typically lasted for three hours and when you were finished, you either got breakfast on campus or went back to your apartment to make something as Ja'Marr would also be blowing up your phone to feed him even though he was on an entire meal plan just like you were.
After taking a shower and throwing on some leggings along with an LSU sweatshirt and your converses, you started to walk out the building with Erin since Alisha had to hurry up to get to her class on time, when you spotted Joe.
Of course, Erin noticed too and squealed.
“Ooh, there goes your man!”
“Erin, be quiet! I don't want him to hear you! You are too loud for it to be eight in the morning!”
“Why not? And I'm always loud. I'm responsible for this love connection and I'm going to be the maid of honor. He NEEDS to know me.”
Joe had turned around and once he spotted you began making his way over.
“Oh shit, here comes your husband!”
“I hate you. I hate you so much right now.”
“You'll get over it.” Erin said as she smiled.
“Morning princess. Just got out of practice?” He asked as he came up to both of you.
“Morning and yes. Now I'm going to stuff my face. Oh Joe, this is my best friend Erin.”
“Hey Erin, pleasure to meet you.”
“You too and the pleasure is all mine.” She said and you couldn't help but laugh quietly to yourself.
“I was actually going to get food if the two of you wanted to come with me.”
“Y/N will go! I have class but she is free ALL MORNING. So I'm going to go and Y/N, I'll text you later. Have fun you two.” Erin practically yelled and you looked at her as if she was crazy.
“And then there were two. Where did you want to go to eat?” Joe asked as Erin had started to walk away.
“You're from Ohio, so you need to get a taste of some good southern cooking that makes you feel like you have just gained ten pounds.”
“Lead the way.”
“We're going on a little adventure off campus, my car is just over there. I think you'll like it.”
Less than a mile from campus was Louie's Cafe that had amazing breakfast as well as brunch foods. Anything that you could possibly think of they served.
On the ride over, the two of you just made small talk and when both of you had placed your orders for your food, you wanted to see how he was feeling for his first game that he would be playing in on Sunday because you already knew Ja'Marr was a nervous wreck.
“How are we feeling about Sunday? You nervous?” You asked as you took a small sip of orange juice.
“A little bit and I can admit it. I mean I played when I was in Ohio, but I was the backup. Now I'm actually starting. A lot of pressure on my shoulders and I feel like I have something to prove. I want them to be able to see that they made the right choice.” Joe told you and you were clinging to every word.
“But that's so exciting! What made you transfer here though out of all places?”
“I didn't want to be sitting on a bench for four years. I wanted to be able to play. I know that I'm good, but I just need a chance to show it.”
“Hmm, I do love a man with confidence. Well I'm very excited for you and my brother. I hate how you guys aren't playing here, but I'll make sure I'm watching.”
“Always confident, never cocky. And I'll try to get my first win as a starting quarterback for you.” He responded as he gave you a small smile.
“I can't wait to see it happen so once you get back here, we can celebrate. I can cook, so I can make you something.”
“I've been craving something my mom makes all the time, Snickers Salad.” Joe replied and you looked at him confused.
“Um? Is that an Ohio thing? Because I have no idea what that is.”
Joe nodded as he laughed and your waiter had set your plates down on the table in front of you.
“It is, but I can always text you the ingredients you need to make it. I figured you could do it justice since Ja'Marr never stops talking about how well you cook.”
“You need my number to be able to do that.” You Cheekily said, but he fired right back.
“Mine is in yours, already. I put mine in when we first got here since I want to be able to see more of these special spots you know about.” Joe confidently told you as he was pouring syrup on his banana pecan pancakes that had been recommended by you.
“I've literally only known you now for about 36 hours and I can say that I like being around you.”
“Good, because I like being around you too.”
Just then your phone rang and of course it was no one other than Ja'Marr.
“Pebbles! Are you at Louie's Cafe!?!? And you didn't take me!? I checked your location! I'm hungry too!”
“I took Joe instead because he doesn't get on my nerves like you do.” You told him as you stabbed your eggs.
“WAIT, you took Joe!?!?”
“Yes, say hi. You're on speaker.”
“Hey Ja'Marr.” Joe said as he was trying not to laugh.
“Joe, just make sure my sister gets me something to go. I'm about to starve messing with her ass.”
“I got you.”
“Bye, baby brother.”
“Wait! I didn't give you my order!”
“Text it to me, bye.”
Once you hung up and placed your phone back on the table, you looked back up at Joe to see him staring at you.
“When do you have class?”
“Not until one.”
“You want to do some more exploring with me? I feel that it's now my obligation as your unofficial tour guide.”
“I get to be around a pretty girl so I'm all for it.”
“Joe, you do know that I have a boyfriend right?” You asked as your face heated up.
“Someone as pretty as you, I'm not surprised. But what does that have to do with me?” He asked as he winked at you.
This is the first time in your life that you were speechless.
