𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭 ! “can i request a fred weasley x slytherin!reader? with her being draco’s older sister?” thank you to the lovely anon who requested this <3
𝐬𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲 ! your brother and boyfriend’s twin end up in a brawl, but fred considers himself the real winner.

─── ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ・ 。゚☆: *.☽ .* :☆゚. ───
You quietly sigh to yourself as you look at the two most important men in your life standing before you.
Both your brother and boyfriend look like they’ve been through the mud—or rather, the wet grass of the Quidditch pitch; but the former is clearly faring worse than the latter.
You’d watched the whole brawl go down—the whole school had, staff included.
The only reason Fred isn’t bleeding like Draco or sporting a busted lip like his twin is because his teammates had held him back.
Three of them.
He’s not hurt, but he’s furious—and while he’s been good on leaving Draco alone since you’ve begun dating, the look in Fred’s eyes right now tell you that he’s still reared up to go.
And you can’t say you blame him. Your brother had been out of line and you know it.
Which is why you cross your arms and focus on the blonde, staring into an identical pair of your own grey eyes as you frown.
“I don’t even know where to begin with you.” You say quietly. “Not only do you insult my boyfriend’s mother and his family home—but then you go and get into a brawl with his brother!? And then get them both banned from playing Quidditch!?”
Draco is immediately on the defense. You know your little brother. You see it in the way he stands up straighter, face growing contrite and indignant—he’s going to argue back.
And sure enough, “He hit me first! What was I-”
“I don’t want to hear it.” You cut him off sharply, and he instantly quiets. Years of being a big sister and essentially second mother for him during the school year has taught him when to back down.
“You deserved it, and we both know it. You insulted the Weasleys first. George might’ve thrown the first blow, but you threw the first stone.”
You shake your head slowly as you look down at him. “After everything our family has been through, Draco—I really thought you would know better than to attack another person’s.”
He swallows softly as he hangs his head, his fists clenching at his side—a habit he does whenever he’s angry at himself. And your father.
You can see that your words have hit home for him. Good. You know your little brother is an arse, which is putting it lightly—but you also know that there’s still good in him.
“I’m sorry.” He says quietly, and you shake your head.
“I’m not the ones you need to apologize to.” You say pointedly as you raise a brow.
Draco’s face morphs into an angry scowl and for a moment, you almost think he’s going to take it all back—but then he lets out a soft sigh and looks at Fred.
“I’m sorry, Weasley. It was wrong of me to attack your mother’s character and home like that. Or get you banned from Quidditch.” He says quietly. He looks like he’s just swallowed a sour lemon as he says it—but his tone is genuine and you know he means it.
You look at your boyfriend then, to gauge his reaction.
It’s his decision whether he forgives your brother or not, and you’ll support him in whatever choice he makes. Draco messed up, and you won’t allow your brother to get away with his wrongdoings like everyone else does.
What kind of a big sister would that make you?
Fred’s still angry, you can tell. His jaw is clenched and he’s taking deep breaths. He seems to grow taller as he stares down at the younger boy, and his fingers twitch at his side—like he’s fighting his body to keep still.
“I’m going to say this once, so listen up, Malfoy.” He starts, his stare growing more intense as he continues to look down at your brother.
“I don’t like you. I probably never will if you keep up the way you are—but I do respect you. You’re my witch’s brother, and whether you like it or not, I’m marrying your sister one day.” He steps closer, the height difference becoming more apparent as he does so.
Draco’s tall, but Fred is just simply taller.
“I’m here to stay, mate. We’re going to be in each other’s lives forever. So stay in your lane, and I’ll stay in mine.” He nods slowly.
“But speak on my family like that again, disrespect the Weasley name—your sister’s future name; and I’ll show you why you should consider yourself lucky it was the other twin that got his hands on you today.” He finishes quietly.
Fred’s words even make the hair on the back of your neck rise. You know he means it, and from the way Draco swallows and casts his eyes to the side—he knows it too.
The blonde nods slowly. “Understood.”
Fred seems to ease up a little then, as he takes a step back and then another. He doesn’t stop until he’s beside you, arm securely wrapped around your waist.
Draco turns to look at you again and you instantly see the question in his eyes.
Are we okay?
You sigh softly and nod as you move to wrap your own arm around Fred.
“Apologize to the rest of the Weasleys by tomorrow.” You narrow your eyes, “I will know if you don’t.”
Draco lets out a quiet sigh and nods. “I will, Y/N. I promise.”
You step away from Fred to pull the younger boy into a hug—one he returns reluctantly, but within seconds he’s squeezing you tight and resting his chin on your shoulder.
He needs this hug. Deep down, your brother is sensitive—his craving for love and belonging steep. He always needs reassurance whenever you two have a row, always afraid that that’ll be the day you walk away from him forever. Thank you, dad.
“We’re okay, I promise. I love you, even though you’re a little shite sometimes.” You whisper softly, and smile when you feel him squeeze you tighter.
When you pull away, he returns your smile with his own—albeit smaller. “I love you too, Y/N.”
He nods to Fred and then begins to head to the dungeons.
You smirk softly as you make your way back into Fred’s arms, watching your brother go. “Staying with Fred tonight, cover for me with Snape! Thanks, love you!”
You hear a faint groan of complaint as he rounds the corner and you smile triumphantly.
Fred rubs your arm up and down gently as he chuckles, the sound vibrating through his chest and into yours.
You tilt your head up to him and smile apologetically. “I’m sorry for what he did today.”
He shakes his head instantly as he rubs your back soothingly. “Don’t apologize for him, love. You did nothing wrong.”
“I know, I know, but still. He said awful things about your mum and got you banned from Quidditch!” You sigh softly as you loop your arms around his neck and begin to fiddle with his hair. “He’s my little brother. My responsibility.”
Fred grabs your hands and brings them to his lips, kissing them gently. “Your brother, yes. Your responsibility, no. But your efforts are appreciated, love.”
He smirks softly as he pulls your hands back around his neck. “You had the git apologizing quicker than it’d even taken for the brawl to get going.”
You shake your head in amusement as you roll your eyes playfully. Normally, you would gently chastise him whenever he makes a snide remark about your brother—but you figure you can let it slide for today, all things considered.
“I hope you didn’t accept his apology for my sake, though. You have every right to be upset and not forgive him if that’s how you feel, Freddie.” You say softly.
He shakes his head gently. “I know, love. I chose to forgive him for exactly why I told him.”
You melt as you recall his words about marrying you and someday giving you the Weasley name. “I can’t believe you said all of that.”
“And I meant every word of it.” He murmurs softly before gently pulling you into a deep but tender, lingering kiss.
When he pulls back, he smiles, thumb caressing your cheek as he cups your face. “Besides, the way I see it—the bloke hates me and I’m dating his sister. He can still play Quidditch, sure, but who’s the real winner here? And I didn’t even have to touch a single hair on his pointy head.”
You burst out laughing before leaning into his chest. “The real winner of the brawl, huh?” You play along.
He just smirks softly. “Damn right, love.”

how dare you? - Draco/Harry
=> A Drarry oneshot inspired by the song "Wicked Game"
=> In which Harry questions why and how he fell in love with a man who just wants him dead... (or so he thinks).
=>Draco's no better.
=> Canon until the Battle of Hogwarts, where Draco makes the RIGHT choice.
Full of angst until, like, the ending scene. Ends with Ginny/Luna's wedding, so if you want a little bit of 'Draco with the Gryffindors' fluff, go ahead! Enjoy reading!
Tumblr media
I fell in love with your smile. Once, twice. I never fell for this man behind a Death Eater's mask.
How dare you make me fall for you? How dare you make me dream of you?
How dare you give me hope?
Harry found himself screaming himself and the rest of Grimmauld Place awake yet again with another nightmare.
"Mate, you alright?" Ron sat up in bed, running a hand through his hair as he ran his eyes up and down Harry as if checking for blood. "Is it the scar?"
"I..." Harry frowned. No, it wasn't the scar. Unlike everybody assumed, his nightmares weren't always Voldemort; nor were they always losing Sirius and Cedric either.
It was a certain arch-nemesis. Not him dying, but him killing Harry with his own hands, like he claimed he would oh so happily do.
Would he, really? Would Malfoy actually kill him?
... Harry knew the answer. And it hurt.
"Yes. Yes, the bloody scar," Harry lied, wincing. "The pain’s fading, I'll be okay. Go back to sleep."
Tumblr media
Several months later, Harry found himself storming into the Breakfast Hall after another nightmare. Last night had been a ruthless mess in his head, one he hadn’t been prepared for.
✦✧ ★ ☆ ✶✡︎✦✧ ★ ☆ ✶✡︎ (the nightmare)
It had started with the night at the graveyard in fourth year. Except everything went in reverse. Harry was shoved against the Riddle gravestone, Cruciatus curses had flown around the graveyard freely.
“Kill the spare.” Cedric had been thrown aside like he was nothing.
“Good luck,” he had wished Cedric silently. Cedric had nodded back.
Everyone cheered when Harry broke through the surface. He had found himself searching for someone… he had spotted Cedric shooting him a proud grin. And then he had seen Malfoy leaning against a tree, rolling his eyes at the heroism.
“Haha! Having fun, Harry?” Cedric had called out to him mid-waltz, just like he did to the other champions.
And then somewhere to his right, as the couples started flocking the dance floor, he heard the most beautiful laugh.
“Barely started and you’re already tripping! Ow!” Draco Malfoy muffled a shriek as Pansy stepped harder on his foot.
Malfoy was smiling.
He looked around at the others dancing, and for a split second, they held eye contact: the smile on his face flew away like the wind.
And then all at once, Harry found himself back in the lake, but this time he was drowning. Gasping for air, choking on murky water, spluttering, coughing. Ah, there was Malfoy, seated by the water, holding out his hand. The same breathtaking smile on his face.
Harry reached for it with a gasp of relief, gripping it tight — only for Malfoy to push him back underwater.
✦✧ ★ ☆ ✶✡︎✦✧ ★ ☆ ✶✡︎ (the nightmare ends)
Harry sat beside Hermione, brows furrowed in frustration and pain. Fourth year had been Harry Potter’s gay awakening. It had been a shock when he had realised it was Cedric he liked, not Cho. Not his fault they were always together. But the one crush had led to so many… discoveries. Like on the night of the Yule Ball, when he had fallen for Malfoy’s genuine smile for the first time. He had told himself it was just his recent understanding of his sexuality messing with his head. For Merlin’s sake, had he been flustered when Bill appeared for the Third Task (looking dashing in his wizard’s suit). “Surely it’s just the hormones.”
Harry scoffed.
“What are you up to now?”
Hermione’s annoyed glare was focussed on him with full power. “Erm… Hermione?”
“What?”
“Are you alright?”
“Of course I am, not like I have anything to be mad about now do I!”
“…nope, not at all.”
Hermione punched his shoulder with a book. “Harry! You’re mocking me.”
“Am I?” Harry grinned, his tense shoulders relaxing for a moment. His best friends always made him feel better (even if Ron was being a brat these days). “Come on, what happened?”
“Nothing,” she grumbled aloud, despite her eyes darting towards the diabetic-ally sappy couple seated somewhere down the table. Lavender was too busy feeding Ron his pudding to notice.
“Ah, don’t worry, I hate it too.”
Hermione smirked, satisfied, before going back to her revision notes. “You ought to be studying…”
“Later,” Harry mumbled. His eyes latched onto a bob of sleek blond that had just arrived at the Slytherin table. The instant Malfoy sat down, his gaze drifted away from his ‘friends’ and locked onto Harry’s.
Harry bit back a gulp. Malfoy’s sharp eyes gleamed as bright as the stripes of silver on his tie. How ironic it was that his eyes and Harry’s would make a perfect Slytherin pair.
Harry found himself glaring back, holding his stance against Malfoy’s challenge. But really, he was enjoying it. The silent glare-contest that let him stare at Malfoy’s face for as long as he liked. Let him watch all the little blond strands flutter in the gentle wind that always kept the Hall cool. All the edges of his jawline, the little dark flecks in his silver eyes, the rosy blush on his nose… The faded scars from his ‘Sectumsempra’. Like a worshipper devoted to his idol, he etched all of it into his memory.
It wasn’t until Malfoy’s glare softened did he notice the faint grey lining his eyes. Was he not getting enough sleep? Was he facing some sort of trouble? His cheeks were hollower than before, his neckline sharper. Relative to the ‘rich boy smothered in luxury’ aura he gave off before… all he radiated now was gloom. (And beauty, but gloom.) Harry felt his eyebrow raising in concern, eyes asking a silent question he wouldn’t dare ask aloud. “Are you alright?”
Malfoy looked away.
“Harry? Harry! Cut it out!” Hermione whispered beside him, shaking him back to reality. She shot Malfoy a glare, which he deftly ignored. “What is it now?”
“Nothing,” Harry shook his head, downing a mug of iced water. “It’s nothing. He pisses me off, is all.”
⚡️ -> Shift of POV -> 🐍
Draco didn’t want to look away. Far from it — he longed to be able to wake up to those eyes, fall asleep to those eyes, drowning in their perfect green everyday. His anger dropped when he felt Harry’s gaze searching all over his face. Was he curious? Was he judging how terrible he looked? He couldn’t possibly be ‘checking me out’… Haha, perhaps in my wildest dreams, Draco scoffed internally. Definitely judging.
Potter raised an extremely judgemental eyebrow, his eyes questioning him. Here I was happily staring into his eyes, and there he is mocking me for looking sick. You’re pathetic, Draco, he chided himself and looked away. He’d rather lose the staring contest to bloody Potter than endure the mockery in those beautiful eyes.
It hurt.
Hurt as bad as every nightmare where Harry hit him over and over with Sectumsempra, even an Unforgivable or two.
Draco shook his head and went back to staring at the tattoo edges he could see peeking out of his sleeve. He wasn’t surprised Potter hated him, loathed him, detested his very existence. And maybe so did Draco. Long long ago, back when he was still a petulant child mad at Harry Potter not being his friend. Long before he felt the first pangs of jealousy when Potter brought Patil to the Yule Ball, long before Potter went around snogging a sodding Ravenclaw. Back then, they were equals, absolutely repulsed by each other. But now… it was worse. Draco fell for the Potter that saved a French girl he didn’t even know. Draco fell for the Potter that cried over a Hufflepuff he only befriended that year. Draco fell a third time, for the Potter that stood up to Umbridge.
Draco loved the Potter that hated him.
Can’t blame him, he laughed at himself, covering the Dark Mark and the wounds all over it with a glamour.
Tumblr media
“Don’t kill him! DON’T KILL HIM!”
“Like it hot, scum?”
BOOM! Another bookshelf tumbled as the wood of the racks caught fire. Yellowing pages of old spells and potion recipes were set alight, burning into ashes in an instant under the heat. The Fiendfyre roared, spreading its wings like a dragon, drowning the entire Room in amber, racing forwards, chasing after the intruders.
Draco ran for his life.
He could hear Goyle sprinting too, only a few steps behind. A flame shot out and latched onto Goyle’s pants: the idiot ran past him, screaming.
A bookshelf came crashing down, and they slipped underneath, missing death by a hair’s breadth. Faster, and faster… The fire crept closer and closer, roaring louder and louder…
“DRACO WATCH OUT!”
“Goyle..?” The smoke and the adrenaline were too much: he couldn’t see a thing, let alone the boy supposedly beside him.
Let alone the tall cupboard that was toppling onto his path.
All he could hear were the dozen crashes all around him, and one loud ominous ‘Creeeeeak’ that crept closer and closer—
And a sudden ‘Swish’ — before he could yell, he was plucked off the ground and thrown onto a wooden log… A broom. He was on a broom.
Down on the ground, he could see the cupboard that had fallen being devoured by the flames… He realised just how closely he had escaped it.
“Goyle!” He bent over the broom to grab his Stunned friend. He looked back up.
A dark raven’s nest sat atop a flushed face, his back bent to steer the broom faster out of the Room.
He’d rather I be crushed to death… or burn. The heat must have gotten to his ginormous head, Draco bit back a sigh, tapping the broom with his wand. The dusty old thing shot out of the doors like a lightning bolt. With a wave of Granger’s wand, the doors slammed shut, right in the Fiendfyre’s face.
Gasping for fresher air, the trio sat down against the wall, exhausted. Draco slumped to the ground nearby, after having leaned Goyle against a pillar as well. They watched, horrified, as the beautiful diadem in Harry’s hands broke apart with a scream.
The Dark Lord lost another Horcrux. Draco lost a friend. Draco also now owes Harry sodding Potter his life.
And maybe he didn’t mind that one bit.
Tumblr media
“Draco… Come.”
Narcissa Malfoy’s words bounced off of the stone all around the Hogwarts courtyard. Draco curled his fists in tighter, fully aware of the hundreds of hateful eyes, as he stepped out of the crowds and made his way across the courtyard. Voldemort [no, Draco refused to call him the Dark Lord anymore, he was just a bloody maniac] began grinning, big rotten teeth as ugly as the rest of him. Instead of maybe walking into Voldemort’s outstretched arms for a bloody stupid hug, he walked on towards where the old half-giant stood, stood stock-still before the body of the one man he dared love… and fell to his knees.
Time slowed, the one tear trembling on his lashes taking ages to sneak its way down his pale, grimy face. He could hear others behind him scowling, gasping, wondering. He couldn’t care less. A hundred memories flashed through his mind within the few seconds it took for the tear to fall.
✦ ✧ ★ ☆ ✶ ✡︎ ✦ ✧ ★ ☆ ✶ ✡︎
“Malfoy. Draco, Malfoy.”
“I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks.”
“You wait till my father hears about this. This is servant's stuff.”
“If I didn’t know better, Draco, I’d say you were scared.”
Draco scoffed. “Scared, Potter?” He spat the name as if it were a curse. Which it was. “Did you hear that?”
“Hear what…?”
“I thought I heard hooves…” Why did Potter’s voice sound so close…? Draco looked down to find he had subtly hidden behind the boy. Throwing himself further away, he shuddered. “N-Never mind, it’s probably nothing.”
Draco felt satisfied to turn the context around this time. “Scared, Potter?”
“You wish.” The Gryffindor’s eyes glowed with determination and anger. It pissed Draco off, seeing the anger he felt every time he saw Potter, reflected back. Was he mad over what happened with the mudblood?
Tsk. Draco swore to use the worst jinxes he could think of. “SERPENSORTIA!”
A Firebolt crashed into the pit, smashing into smithereens.
“Potter’s broom!” Parkinson smirked.
“Look!” A roar of cries ran across the stands as a limp body came crashing down beside the broom. The Headmaster raised his hand just in time: Harry Potter now lay mid-air, body as limp as a… a corpse.
Draco shook himself, correcting his expression into his most smug smirk yet, wary of his classmates jeering at the unconscious Seeker.
“Potter. Potter! Is it true that you fainted?”
Somebody at his table mimicked a dramatic faint, mocking Potter. The rest of the Slytherins cracked up, sniggering beside him, reminding Draco to stay in character. “I mean…” he scoffed, flashing a scornful grin. “You actually fainted?”
Weasley pulled a face at them, Granger pulled an annoyed Potter away, an arm wrapped tight around his back. Draco frowned.
“Barely started and you’re already tripping! Ow!” Draco muffled a shriek as Pansy stepped harder on his foot. Snarky Parkinson retaliated, making him laugh. Oh how wonderful the night would have been had he kept his eyes away from the centre of the dance floor. For right beside where Diggory was twirling Chang, Potter was watching him: judging, probably. In a way, it could have been satisfying: the Gryffindor Patil girl was all over him, but his eyes were on Draco.
Except they were scrunched up in hurt.
Almost like… Almost like Potter was hurt to see Draco dancing with somebody else…
It confused Draco. And Draco hated being confused.
“Father will kill you, Father will kill you,” Draco chanted inwardly — begging himself to not punch Umbridge in the ear. Sure, she was sodding torturing Potter. But his father really would kill him if he went against the Ministry…
Draco, for the first time in his life, regretted ever being born a Malfoy.
“No,” Draco denied recognising the captive. He wasn’t lying. The Potter he knew was breathtaking in his own Potter-y way, not blown up and blue like this wretch crouching before him. But he’d know those pretty eyes anywhere — but neither did his prick of a father (whom he now officially loathed), nor his unhinged aunt deserve to know that.
Besides, the trouble was worth it when Potter gazed back at him with nothing but pure gratitude.
Draco sat against the wall, watching the Horcrux break apart. The diadem was beautiful. It wasn’t worth Crabbe’s life, though. Voldemort was a sick scoundrel, just like his father.
Potter and Malfoy clashed eyes for a bare minute.
I save you, you saved me. Guess we’re even now. Nothing more between us.
Something snapped inside him. He had hoped the life debt would have dragged on a bit longer.
Draco nodded silently, pulled Goyle up, and stumbled away, sulking.
✦ ✧ ★ ☆ ✶ ✡︎ ✦ ✧ ★ ☆ ✶ ✡︎
Draco shook his blond head, refusing to cry. Potter — no, Harry — had once looked so innocent and charming and bright. The day he had first seen the frizzy-haired boy, Harry had been full of toothy smiles and sparkling green eyes.
“Draco~” Bellatrix’s voice twisted his nerves.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Voldemort hissed. “The boy’s dead!”
No. He refused to believe the light was gone.
Without a second’s hesitation, his wand shot out a brilliant blue hex towards the wraith.
A round of gasps. A very satisfactory “Ha!” from the only Weasley twin left.
“That’s right. Harry’s not dead, not to us.” Longbottom? The sound of a sword being pulled out.
And with a loud ‘Thud!’ the body in Hagrid’s arms rolled over. Draco’s arms shot out simply on instinct, catching the body just in time.
Green eyes stared up at his, wide in shock and glistening in… relief. Quiet joy. A very silent ‘Oh, there you are.’
Draco scoffed in response. As if I’m the one who returned from death. “Get up!” He shouted, pulling them both to their feet as Longbottom, Granger and the Weasleys led the Light Army into attack, while cheering for the Boy Who Did Indeed Live.
Lucius Malfoy was fuming. Oh, the glee in Draco’s heart.
He’d have to fight now, try and sneak his mother away too. He’ll find his way back to Harry later. Just like he always did.
Tumblr media
“You know,” Parvati Patil stretched her arm (which was covered in shiny bangles up to her elbow). “I really did think Ron would be the first to marry from our lot. Who’d have thought his little sister would beat him to it?”
Draco Malfoy scoffed, taking another sip from his white wine. It was a wonder a Weasley wedding even HAD the muggle drink — just as much of a wonder it was for anybody else to see a Malfoy enjoying it. “He’s a bloody idiot. I wouldn’t be surprised if he hasn’t even asked Granger yet.”
“Right?!” Parvati burst into laughter. “So dense, honestly! Oh, but I’m so happy for the girls! Aren’t you?”
“Yeah.”
“Oh, there she comes! Hello, pretty bride!”
Luna Lovegood waved, giggling, her blond locks flying in the summer breeze. “Hi! You know, I had somebody ask me if the gentleman over there was my brother.” She chuckled, patting Draco’s head for no reason.
“I wouldn’t mind being a Lovegood,” he swirled his glass.
“Join the family?” Luna grinned.
“Too late,” he held up his left hand, flaunting the sparkling silver ring.
“Put it down, put it down! The aura of richness is blinding me,” Ginny Weasley cried, linking arms with her new wife, pulling a face at Draco. “Hey, Parvati, come dance with us!”
“I will, in a bit.”
“Malfoy, find your drunk fiancé and come dance, yeah?” She asked, already dragging Luna away to join the others.
Draco watched them leave in silence before downing the rest of his glass. “So.”
“So?”
“Have you found your… person?” He felt awkward asking after Lavender Brown, given it was Greyback, one of his father’s old lackeys, that bit her.
“Lav? No. I think I’m close, though. Maybe I’ll find her soon, and bring her to your wedding this winter,” she sighed with a distant gaze.
“Maybe.”
“Have you found yours?” She smiled knowingly. Draco falling to his knees over Harry’s corpse had indeed been quite the dramatic memory for everybody present.
Draco smiled back (he had learnt it felt oddly good to do that), eyes drifting over to spot Harry laughing his heart out with Neville Longbottom. “I have.” He placed his glass on a floating table nearby and rose to his feet. “Excuse me,” he bowed to the lady before strutting across the tent to find his partner. “Ahem.”
“Oh!” Harry jumped. “Hello, Dray~”
“You’re drunk as hell.”
“Wasn’t me! I tried to stop him,” Neville held up his hands in surrender, slinking away to escape.
Draco sighed. “I was about to ask you to a dance but… You’re a mess.”
“Am not! I can dance!”
“Yeah? And if you fall?”
“You can catch me!”
Draco chuckled. Harry seemed to like being caught by him, ever since the day of the Battle. “Fine. Let’s go, your ex is waiting.”
“Hey, we both have our own beautiful blondie partners now,” Harry laughed.
“Yeah yeah, whatever,” Draco gripped his hand as Harry dragged him off to the dance floor, his heart soaring with joy, feeling himself falling for him all over again.
He had once been mad at the universe for this. For making him fall in love with Harry James Potter: so despicably, idiotically, and wholly in love.
Now, he could only be grateful for the ring he now wore, the hand he now held… the heart he now owned.
Somewhere in the back of the tent, sat a lonely Weasley twin. Chink! A coin rolled along the floor to rest at the Weasley’s feet.
George sucked in a gasp, picking it up. “Five galleons,” he muttered to himself. He looked up just in time to see Harry dragging Malfoy to the dance floor, joining Ginny and Luna, and Ron and Hermione. He chuckled, a tear slithering down. “Told you I’d win, Fred,” he patted the empty seat next to him. “Bet closed.”

Note
HEY omg I absolutely adore your writing - finished reading if the bees know and my GOD it grabbed by entire HEART it was so freaking good!!!!!!!!! [lil Scorpius owns my entire heart ;-;] For the ao3 wrapped thing, maybe 3, 17 and/or 28? <333
hi!! ahh thank you so much! i'm so happy to hear that! 100% agreed about lil scorpius, he is the absolute sweetest.
thank you for these!
3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?
hmmm, i think i'd say The Star Splitter, even though it won't be done this year! it's def the most complex fic i've taken on since Close Behind and i'm really enjoying writing it, while keeping up with a new sort of format (writing as i post). it's been a great fic experience and i'm proud to be staying on top of it!
17. Your favorite character to write this year?
harry in along each garden wall, hands down. for not being a POV character, i put so much of him into that fic and just have so much backstory and understanding of his emotional mindset in my head, and i love the life he's built in that story. his storyline is honestly deeply sad; harry spends the entire fic truly believing that draco knows how in love harry is and just doesn't love him back, and then he still won't take advantage of draco's predicament and pain to get a shot at what he wants in the end. he's so good, in a way that makes him exactly suited for the good, decent life draco has built.
i answered 28 here!
send me AO3 wrapped asks!

📸 END UP HERE
synopsis. when a guy keeps harassing his best mate’s cousin, there’s not a single thought on his mind that would make theo feel bad about wanting to beat the shit out of him.
theo nott x lestrange!reader. PLEASE. request more things for theo or mattheo. i’m literally in need.
Tumblr media
theo couldn’t remember the exact moment, when his mind filled the urge to hit cormac mclaggen as hard as possible. on second thought, he definitely could.
theo’s been watching you ever since the party started. you were standing in the corner of the room, trying to get as little attention as possible — you wouldn’t even been there if amelia didn’t beg you to be her emotional support, so considering you were the best roommate (and friend) she could imagine, you said yes. maybe it was just the start of mistakes you were supposed to make that night, or so you thought.
you had a tight, dark red dress on you that hugged all your curves in the places it should. your make up just made you stand out from all the girls there, that’s what theo thought when he saw you. of course, you didn’t want to be there, but you couldn’t just pass on an occasion to dress up a bit, since you were going anyway. maybe your clothing choice was another of those mistakes.
nott’s attention was fully on you — a girl tried to hit him up? too bad, because she wasn’t even half as pretty as you were, and he knew you didn’t even try. it became obvious to all his friends that you were… quite a distraction. he would engage in a conversation, trying hard to have his focus on his friends, but then you would do something, and he felt obligated to look at you, but you were clearly oblivious to his gaze averting and coming back every once in a while.
“can you stop eye-fucking my cousin?” draco groaned, leaning on the wall behind them, bringing a cup to his lips, taking a small sip of alcohol. “it’s disgusting.” he added.
draco malfoy was the only reason that kept theodore from getting his hands on you, at least that’s what he would always tell people he bluntly ignored, when you walked into the room he was in. just because draco treated you like a sister, people thought nott would get a hold of his hormones.
but how could he, when you always looked so gorgeous?
“i’m not eye-fucking her, i’m a cultured man.” he said, getting lots of mocking laughs from mattheo and lorenzo (“you? a cultured man? never heard that much bullshit in my life.”). “i’m admir— ouch, c’mon, malfoy.” his fingers massaged the place that the blonde boy punched.
it all happened later that night, when nott was already a little lightheaded from a blunt he was smoking with mattheo. even if he didn’t want to concentrate on you, it was pointless, so he just watched you, shamelessly, being teased for it by his friend at the same time.
he noticed that cormac fucking mclaggen cornered you, and you had no possible chance to run away from him, your eyes scanning the room, looking for help until your gaze landed on theodore’s face, and he knew immediately. you watched him get up from the couchy, mumbling something to riddle before he made his way towards the corner you stood in.
he didn’t even say a thing, the discomfort in your eyes was enough to assume everything. he tapped the gryffindor’s shoulder, quickly throwing his fist forward, and you could’ve swore to god that you had heard bones crushing. theo just grinned mischievously as cormac looked at him a confussed expression, brushing his lip with his thumb.
but nott didn’t stop himself there, starting a fight. while mclaggen’s friends tried to pull the poor gryffindor away from theo, mattheo and enzo just stood behind him, with wide, prideful grins on their faces, shouting once in a while to encourage theo to “crush his skull”. if it wasn’t for blaise, who finally appeared (with amelia right beside him), the fight would go for probably even longer until one of the teachers didn’t interfere.
“stay the fuck away from her, mclaggen.” dark-haired spat at his opponent, the adrenaline running through his veins, so the bruises didn’t hurt at all. not until he was sat by the edge of the bathtub by you, when he realized that his face was throbbing with pain.
“theo.” you whispered, stading right between his legs, trying so hard to focus on patching him up more than the burning sensation of his hand on her hip. hearing the way you said his name almost made him groan — you were so perfect in his eyes that if he manned up, his hands would be everywhere, not just your hip. “could you please lift your head for me?”
there was something so incredibly intimate about that moment. he just fought for you, and instead of getting mad, you were right next to him, cleaning his face and hands off the blood, speaking so softly and touching him with such a gentle manner that theodore thought he died and woke up in heaven.
“i thought you said you wouldn’t be fighting random guys anymore.” you began, brushing his hair back, so you could press the wet towel to his forehead. “was he making you uncomfortable?” he asked, his tone a little raspy.
“well, yeah but–”
“then it wasn’t random.” theo shrugged, and if you two were in different circumstances now, you wouldn’t be able to stop yourself from crashing your lips into his. “he should’ve known that you’re my girl.” he mumbled as his hand slipped down on your thigh, his fingers digging into your soft flesh.
“you looked so good tonight.” he muttered after a minute of silence as you kept trying to concentrate on helping him first. a sigh left his lips as he pulled you a little closer. “i want to rip that dress off you, jesus. what are you doing to me?”
it took him one more swift pull to get you to straddle him. his fingers traced soft circles on your outer thighs as you were silently finishing up your job. your entire body was burning. unfortunately, your face was revealing the effect he had on you, and you hated it, because theo always made it his mission to make you blush as hard as possible.
the thing between you two was… indescribable. you weren’t a couple, but you acted like one, you weren’t friends with benefits, but you weren’t just friends. there were feelings involved and neither of you denied. there were mutual attraction, desire, urgency and neither of you could see themselves with someone else. if soulmates existed, then theodore faustus nott was yours and no one else’s.
“alright.” now, it’s your turn to sigh. you put the towel aside, cupping his cheeks, scanning his face for more bruises to patch up. when you were sure that you treated every single one, you let yourself relax, getting a soft chuckle from theodore. “you worried me, theo.”
he mumbled something under his breath, but you couldn’t pinpoint what it was, since he found his face nuzzling in your neck, leaving small kisses in the spots that he knew would make you shiver. he inhaled the sweet scent of your shampoo and perfume. oh, and did it drive him crazy.
he picked you up, your legs wrapped around his hips as he walked the two of you to his bed, merlin help how weak he felt, but carrying you around was something he did every single time you were at his dorm. theo put you down, letting you get comfortable in his sheets (he bought them, just because you said it looked pretty — so now he had floral themed sheets). on the other hand, he was searching for some clothes you always wear, so you wouldn’t suffer in a tight dress.
maybe he never directly said he loved you, but his actions and behaviour towards you was enough to tell you he did.
you’ve changed into clothes he gave you, allowing your… situationship to help you unzip your bra, and you fell down on his bed. it took you a brief moment to realise that you were still in your goddamn makeup. a long sigh escaped from between your lips. theo’s face lit up with confusion, although he understood why you were lazily getting up from his bed.
“you don’t have to go back.” he smirked, looking you up and down, admiring how gorgeous you looked in his shirt, pictures of him ripping it off you started playing in his head. god, the things he’d like to do to you right now. “i hated how you complained about your makeup stuff. bottom drawer is all yours. everything you need.”
and to be honest, you almost cried upon seeing what he prepared for you. any possible kinds of makeup remover (creams, lotions, gels), tissues, pads and tampons, cotton balls, all those products that he noticed you used for your hair and skin-care essentials, he even stocked your favourite shampoo that you told him wasn’t produced anymore. there were even the same exact products you used to put on your makeup, perfect matched foundation shade, all kinds of eyeshadow palettes you liked, lipsticks, chapsticks, lipglosses, even the glitter and gems you used for yule ball once.
“theodore faustus nott, you are so incredibly pussy whipped, i’m shocked it’s possible.” your laughs filled his chamber, when you got back from the bathroom. “at the same time, it’s so attractive that you bought all of that for me.”
“shut up, lestrange.” he rolled his eyes, his hand wrapping around your leg, pulling you onto him. “i would kill for you if you asked.” he mumbled against your skin, leaving a trail of kisses from your jawline down to collarbone.

friends on vacation | mattheo riddle x reader x slytherin squad
mini series pt. 1
Tumblr media
summary: you and your friends go on vacation before you start your last year at hogwarts. Let‘s just say it get‘s interesting between you and your best friend Mattheo.
warnings: modern slytherin group, vacation to spain, cursing, making out, touching a little, lap dance, hickeys, kissing pansy as friends in game, english is not my first language
Enzo, Blaise, Draco, Theodore, Mattheo, Pansy and me. We all sat together at my house around a big round table. My parents and I had a big house in New York, living there when the wizard world got a little too much.
It wasn‘t the first time that I had all of my friends over, we were inseparable. Everybody knew. So after a few years I showed them a little of my second world, leaving them no choice but to like it. Just like me, they liked to escape our world sometimes, leaving all the monsters and unicorns behind for some relaxing. Just like now.
"So.. where do we wanna go, huh?" Theodore asked into the round, lightning his cigarette.
"Why don‘t we think about what kind of vacation we want first?" I said, taking my Ipad in front of me and opening my vacation apps. " Please somewhere near the beach. I wanna tan and we‘re around the forest and mountains all the time in Hogwarts." Pansy said, stretching her legs over Draco‘s and Blaise‘s laps who were sitting on my garden couch.
"Yeah I agree, If I see one more forest I‘m gonna die." Blaise joins the conversation with a dramatic sigh at the end.
Mattheo and Draco teased each other at the meantime like little kids, throwing their cherry pits at each other.
"What about Italy? There‘s beach and sun." Enzo asks, sitting on the grass beneath us, playing with my dog. "Nah, I already live there that‘s no vacation for me." Theo answers, shaking his head and blowing out some smoke while speaking.
"I have an idea! Spain is beautiful and it‘s really hot there too, perfect to tan. I was there a few years ago with my parents. And the flight from there back to Hogwarts isn‘t that long. 2-3 hours I think." I suggested and looked around the table, all eyes on me now.
"Where exactly in Spain?" Mattheo asks me, sitting right next to me on a second couch, throwing a pit at Draco again. " Alicante is a great vacation spot. Lots of palms, beach, great fruits and sun. You guys will love it." I smile, already looking for flights for the next days.
"Sounds fine to me." Enzo shrugs, smiling up at me while the rest of our group joins in with "great idea" and some "let‘s do this".
2 days later
" Oh my god its beautiful! " Pansy says, stunned at the apartment I booked for us. "Wow, what a view. You really did a great job y/n." Blaise agrees.
The apartment has indeed a beautiful view, you can see the ocean right in front of us even tho it‘s night, you could see it because of all the lights from the little shops and restaurants along the ocean.
"Soo I booked this apartment with the balcony, 3 bathrooms which should be enough for us and 5 bedrooms. Pansy and Draco will share due obvious reasons." I started looking at them. "Also a kitchen so we can.. i din‘t know, have breakfast or have some snacks if everything is closed at night. And this big fat living room we‘re standing in."
" Blaise is right, you really did a great job at that." Mattheo grins, standing right next to me and looking around the living room.
We all settled in and unpacked our things. Pansy and I marked the biggest bathroom with our makeup and skincare stuff so the boys directly knew its our territory.
"Hey guys Theodore and I are going to a store, getting some groceries." Enzo shouted trough the apartment before walking outside the door with Theo.
"Pansy and me are showering!" I shouted so they‘d know what we‘re up to.
Mattheo and Draco looked at each other, before storming off the couch and sprinting to our bathroom only to realise the door was already locked. "Ugh."
I laughed at them together with Pansy as I shook my head. I took off my makeup as Pansy already got in the shower. "Mattheo is so smitten by you it‘s obvious." She laughs, shampooing her hair.
"You know we‘re just friends, Pansy." I say, cheekly smiling. Mattheo and I are best friends since first grade. All of us got friends real quick. Mattheo and Draco knew each other because the Malfoy‘s raised him for Voldemort. Pansy got a crush on Draco and didn‘t leave his side. Pansy and I had to share a dorm in Hogwarts which made us best friends too really fast. I met Enzo at my first class as he was my partner for the whole year. Blaise met Draco in the common room as they battled for the coolest broom. That‘s how we kind of found our way to each other and I wouldn‘t want to change it for a second.
"Yeah but he looks at you different as he looks at me for example." she answers. "Yeah because you‘re with Draco and he would chop Mattheo‘s dick off!" I laugh before joining her in the shower.
"No y/n, because he likes you a little more than just friends do. And hey I‘m not saying he loves you but all I‘m saying is that there is a little spark between the two of you."
Mattheo and I liked to flirt with each other a lot but we never really did something about it because we‘re just friends. And we just like to flirt for fun. Thats it. I think..
As we were ready we put on some clothes and walked outside the bathroom, our hair still wet from the shower. Pansy sat next to Draco, putting her head on his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around her. I had to smile at them, they always made me smile no matter what they did. Draco always acted cold towards eveyone around him, besides from his friends of course, we are like family. But he acted really warm around her which made me happy for both of them.
I sat down between Blaise and Mattheo, making myself comfortable laying my legs over Blaise his lap and my head on Mattheo‘s tigh. "Why am I always getting your girls legs?" Blaise complains with a little smile on his face. "Oh shut up you love my legs." I say winking at him which just made him laugh and shaking his head.
A few seconds later I felt a hand in my hair, massaging my scalp which made me purr a little. "Like that?" Mattheo asks, grinning down at me. "You know I do, Matty." I sigh, closing my eyes and enjoying his touch. "Your hair smells really good when it‘s wet. What is it, peach?" he asks me and lowers his head a little bit to my hair. " Oh so my hair only smells good when it‘s wet? But yes, it is peach indeed." Mattheo chuckles at my answer. "No it always smells great. It just smells more intense when it‘s wet."
Suddenly I heard a gagging noice which made me lift my head and see Blaise fake gagging. "Can you two take a room?"
"You‘re just jelous because you‘re alone." Draco snickers from the side, stroking Pansy‘s back. I laugh at his comment before I get a death glare from Blaise.
We all get interrupted by our phone‘s ringing. I take mine out if my pocket just like the rest did and saw a notification from our group chat. Yes, I made them get a phone a year ago but they all only used it between the holidays. Never in Hogwarts. But I did and I also made everyone of them an instagram account a while ago but Theo, he only joined this week.
Theodore: Yo guys we‘re on our way with all the groceries get ready for some drinks! And aye y/n this app you showed me is fuuuull of hot girl why didn‘t you show me sooner dude! *picture attached*
Tumblr media
I laugh at his message just like the others do and answer him.
Y/N: I told you but you didn‘t want to join! 😤 I‘m getting the glasses 👀
As i send the message i stand up and walk towards the kitchen to get some glasses and shot glasses. "I‘m gonna help." Mattheo speaks as he stands up from his spot and follows me.
As I grab some glasses from a shelf above me, I feel his presence behind me. "Are you smelling my hair again?" "Yeah it‘s kind of addicting." He admits and kisses the top of my head before he grabs some glasses too and brings them back to the living room and sets them on the table in front of the couch.
I turn on the tv and switched to netflix putting on some random show for some background noises. Just in time Theo and Enzo came trough the door with bags full of alcohol and some food. "Hey guys, just put it on the table, glasses are ready."
"Yo Y/n we got something for you." "What is it?" I wondered as Theo pulled out a big bowl of fruits, handing them over to me with the words "here principessa, you talked the whole fucking flight about the food and especially the fruits here."
"Oh thank you thank you!" I hugged them both tightly and opened the bowl exited to eat some fruits right away. As the first piece of melon hit my tounge I moaned dramatic, sitting back down on the couch. "Ugh I love it so much. Here guys, try some fruits."
They all laughed at my behavior and took some fruits out if the bowl. "Wow these are really good." Blaise nodded, eating a piece of pineapple.
I took out a strawberry and put it to the half into my mouth, slightly sucking on it as I looked over to Mattheo, holding the bowl out to him as he was the only one who didn‘t take some.
He sat down to my left and took the other half of my strawberry, eating it while looking into my eyes. My cheeks flushed a light color of pink and I had to look away which made him smile.
"Come on guys let‘s drink something." Draco says standing up and taking the first bottle, looking towards me. "What‘s that? Jim Bean. There‘s an green apple on it, does it taste like that?"
"Uh- a little bit, it‘s strong alcohol like firewhiskey but with a hint of green apple." i tell him.
"Sounds fire." he says and pours something into our glasses, mixing it with Coke. We all took one, cheered and took our first sip. "And? You like it?“ i ask Draco with a smug face on my face. "Yeah i like this muggle stuff more and more." We all laugh at that and continue drinking and chatting, also planning a little bit what we‘re gonna do the next few days.
A few hours later we are all drunk, sitting on the couch and on the floor, but all around the table, playing uno. It was only Pansy against Blaise, the rest of us already lost. Blaise lay‘s down a wish card, seeing Pansy has only left 1 card. He thinks for a sec and says "blue" before Pansy springs up happy and dancing, throwing her blue card on the table. " Uno! ha!" Blaise groans in annoyance and lets himself fall back onto the couch.
"Let‘s play something more interesting guys!" Pansy suggests." Somethink like.. never have I ever or.. truth or dare!"
"Truth or Dare!" I giggle, taking an empty bottle from the ground. " I have a perfect app for this guys! It‘s called piccolo." I took out my phone and put all of our names into it so it could give us our first quest.
Draco and Enzo tell us about your most embarrassing story ever.
We all look at them, waiting for them to tell. Enzo tells us how his pants ripped at a date and Draco claims nothing embarrassing has ever happened to him but Pansy tells us how he sneezed into her face at the first dinner with her parents.
Theodore, choose someone‘s glass at the table and drink it all.
Theo groans and try‘s to take the glass with the least drink in it and chooses Mattheo‘s who has a little less in it then mine.
Mattheo, fill up your glass again.
Now Mattheo‘s the one who groans and does as the phone tells him to.
Y/n, choose your left or right for a at least 10 second kiss.
My eyes widen as I look to my left and see Mattheo grinning and to my right Pansy. "Sorry Mattheo." I giggle as i turn to my right and look at Pansy. She has to giggle too and comes near my face.
"Damn boys am I dreaming or are you seeing the same thing I do?" Theodore asks as he gawks at us.
"Shut up and be quiet!" Draco hisses and looks at us too. "Let‘s give them a show." Pansy giggles and pulls me closer. Our lips meet and I can‘t help but smile against her lips.
"Shit.." i hear Enzo whispering. She giggled against my lips as she hears him too and as the 10 seconds are up we seperate and look around us. They all look at us with big eyes and drooling mouths. "God what is it with boys that they find it so hot when teo girls are making out." Pansy asks.
As I lean back into my spot, Mattheo leans right next to me, his lips beside my ear as he whispers inside it "i don‘t know if i should be jelous or lucky to see something like that." My cheeks heat up again but I try to hide it with rolling my eyes and answering " you‘re a little pervert, mattheo." But I still have to laugh.
"And they‘re gone." I hear Blaise saying, which makes me look at them again to see the last bit of Draco and Pansy before they leave the living room and stumble kissing inside of their shared room.
I shake my head chuckling, Theo shouting "Use condoms my kids!"
Enzo, choose someone to drink against you, loser has to do the cleaning.
Enzo looks around the room and grins at me. "Oh my god why.." i half laugh and half whine as I take my glass and start drinking as fast as I can but Enzo is way faster and smashes his glass back down onto the table it almost broke. "Ha! yes!" Enzo celebrates.
Theodore, choose someone in this round and give them an interesting task.
Theo thinks for a moment before his lips curl up into a devilish smile. "Y/n.. " he starts "choose someone of us to give a lapdance to."
My face heats up at his words and my mind starts to think who to choose as I stand up to walk over to Theodore, but a pair of hands grip my hips and pull me into their matching lap. "Don‘t you dare pick someone else than me little peach." mattheo‘s deep voice echoes in my ear.
I look over to Blaise and tell him to put on a song for me. "Damn she really is gonna give him one." Enzo chuckles as he watches me standing up again in front of Mattheo.
Blaise puts on a song which comes out of the music boxes beside us.
I take a deep breath in and out, hoping not to embarrass myself in my drunken state.
I take his hand and leat him to an empty arm chair besides the couch.
I start slowly circling the chair, my finger gazing his shoulder and his chest as the music starts. When I stand behind him I grap his hair and softly pull on it so his head throws back. I arch my back and lower down a bit until i tease him with brushing my lips against the skin of his neck, making him shivers in his seat. I get back up and walk around the chair again, still touching his arm softly.
When I stand in front of him I put my foot on his chair between his spread legs, slowly tracing it with my own fingers. I know how much he loves me legs, he always told me. That was the real reason why Blaise always got the legs. Because I wanted to tease Mattheo.
I saw him gulping and his hands twitching as he trys not to touch my leg. I take my leg back to the ground and arch my back again, pushing his legs together and sitting on his lap in one smooth motion.
I hear the boys whistle at my move and I have to hide a smile. I slowly start to grind on his left tight, after a minute on his right but not with too much pressure, always just brushing and gazing touch.
I looked at Mattheo, him biting his lower lip and looking down at my hips grinding. I stand up again, turn around and bend over with an arched back, shaking my ass.
After that I took a few steps towards him but still with my back to him and sat down on his lap this time, leaning my back against him and slithering one arm around his neck so his head was at my shoulder. I started grinding my hips slowly but this time with more pressure. "And you wanted to do that on one of them?" Mattheo whispers in my ear, laying his hands on my moving hips.
Without answering him I stood up as the song was over. They all cheered and clapped their hands together which made me laugh and blush. I sat back down on the couch looking over to Mattheo who stood up, his hands hanging in front of his crotch.
He walked over to me, sitting beside me with a little frown to his face which made me gulp. "What‘s wrong?" I asked him quietly so the rest wouldnt hear, even tho they were already distracted by something new. "Nothing." he mumbled and looked at the still running tv. "Come on tell me, we‘re best friends. I can see somethings wrong."
Then he looks at me with sharp eyes, taking my hand and putting it on his lap. "Does this feel like nothing to you, y/n?" he asks with a low voice, my eyes going wide as I felt him hard in his pants, because of.. me?
Without even thinking I grabbed him trough his pants, making his eyes go wide. At first he looked at the boys, then at me. "Y/n.. " "Mattheo.."
Suddenly he grabs my shirt pulling me towards him and crashes his lips against mine. This time my eyes go wide as I feel his lips against mine. They feel soft and full, tasting like the apple whiskey we drank all night long. His hands roam over my body, feeling almost every inch of me.
I lick his bottom lip before I let him explore my mouth with his tounge. "Fuck you taste so fucking good." he breathes against my lips.
My hand is still on his lap, feeling almost paralyzed as i didn‘t move out of fear what would happen next If I continue. But I could feel how much harder he got from our little makeout session.
"Mattheo.. we have to stop." I whisper against his lips, my forehead against his. "But it feels so good.." "I know it does, but we will regret it If we don‘t stop, okay?" He groans and takes me by my hips, pulling me on top of him.
"Y/n, please. I beg you. Just make out a little more with me, I need this." he slurrs, obviously still as drunk as I am. That‘s why I blame my next decision on the alcohol.
My hands grab his shirt and I pull him even closer to me, brushing my lips against his. "Tomorrow we‘re normal friends again okay? Nothings going to be awkward or different, because we just make out a little.. like friends do, helping each other just to ease a little. Promise me." the words come out as a whisper and he nodds, agreeing to them. ".. I promise."
Desperately he closes the space between us, taking my lips in for a heated kiss again. My hands were on his hair, slightly pulling on some strands. "Do that again.." he groans. I pull again and a strangled moan leaves his lips making me shiver on him.
He arches his back a little, bucking his hips against mine. He shudders when my hips move back against his, still sitting on his lap.
"What are you even doing to me, Peach – huh?" I hear him say before he traces down an invisible path down my neck, leaving light and wet kissed.
– thats all I remember before waking up in my bed in the morning with my head hurting like hell. I groan and try to get up, wanting to take a shower. It sounds like the rest is still asleep so I walk into mine and Pansy‘s bathroom, taking off my clothes to get into the shower. With one last turn I see myself in the mirror, my eyes widen. What the fuck.
I had a hickey right between my breasts and one on my collorbone but it was really small and almost bot noticeable. Who was - shit Mattheo.

path to you
Tumblr media
• pairing: theodore nott x reader
• now playing: war of hearts by ruelle
• word count: 7.3k
• genre: angst, fluff every now and then
— not proofread, i wrote this on a whim the other night and only finished last night.
Tumblr media
Theodore Nott stood amidst the crowd of returning students aboard the Hogwarts Express, his heart heavy with a blend of emotions.  His eyes were ablaze, lit with determination in search of that one familiar figure with locks he spent nights running his fingers through. However, as the last call to board the train echoed through the station, his hope was diminished when there was still no sign of you.
In truth, he knew it was futile right from the moment the both of you had left Hogwarts. The incident— if that was what he would even call it for that— was the moment that Voldemort had truly begun making his appearance known to the students of Hogwarts.
He was no innocent bystander to this, the mark that burns on his right arm is a constant, painful reminder of that. His father had mercilessly subjected him through the initiation process, appointing him watch of Draco to ensure he would follow the Dark Lord’s order just as others had been compelled to do.
However, in the brief moment that he knew your eyes had latched on to an exposed skin of his sleeved arm, a fear struck him, unlike the familiar one that had long been instilled by his father. He decided that he would rather weather the searing pain that seemed to burn deeper for every day that Dumbledore roamed the grounds than prove he was no trustworthy person to you now. He would ignore the ache that pried into his very soul as you steer a conversation away as he picks you up from your friends.
Despite this, in the dark and dreary summer, he is left terribly alone with only thoughts of you entangled in his mind. The old days of sunshine only remain in memory, as he supposes is a communal thing for all of you as Voldemort continued to infiltrate and pollute the magical world with his influence.
Theodore had written you a myriad of letters over the many days, his heart engraved with every droplet of ink that marks the parchment.
I miss you.
I beg of you to tell me that I’m not as forgettable as your silence otherwise makes me feel.
But every owl that returned carried nothing but itself. No words from you. Not a single one even from your friends, a choice he made in desperation, regardless of the consequences if his father found out he had been in contact with one of you.
He knew that they knew where you were, even if it might not be the entirety of it. If there was one thing he truly regretted before, it would be his cowardice. His fear runs deep in the thick crimson inside of him that dictated his every move. Though he shares a strong companionship with Mattheo and the others, Theo remains in awe of the camaraderie that you have with your friends at this time.
Driven purely by the need to be a catalyst; to make an end of this war.
With the sudden void torn into his at your disappearance, Theo found his heart crystallising once again, trying to preserve what little warmth is left by you.
Praying to a god he doesn’t believe in, begging that there will never come a day that he won’t know your last words.
Tumblr media
You exhale slowly.
The morning had barely started, and the sun was still but a ray in the dim sky. You tug the blanket over your face, blinking once, twice. The stream below the knife-like hill they had taken camp in, continued its hum.
It has been roughly three months since the start of the school year started, and four months since you have made the decision to accompany Harry, Hermione, and Ron in the hunt for Horcruxes. Four, lengthy months since you’ve last exchanged words with Theo, afraid that you would let this mission slip, Merlin knows he knows you better than you did.
If circumstances were different and he was not tied by that horrific mark, maybe he would be even with you. But reality is unforgiving and you are left in sorrow for the easy times you’ve taken advantage of.
There were times it felt ghastly to keep certain things to yourself, for so long it had been you and Theo, sharing the deepest truths. Then in a snap of a finger, it seemed most of what came out of you were lies, all in the name of protecting your friends. But it was paramount to be cautious nowadays, even if Theo was careful and dedicated to keeping crucial information, you couldn’t shake off the fear that Voldemort may attempt to pry on his mind.
Harry, with all his strength, is no exception to Voldemort’s manipulation of the mind. What more of Theo?
You wouldn’t be able to forgive yourself if everything came crumbling down the moment Voldemort sought Theo’s memories.
Sometimes, you couldn't help but feel the urge to apparate for even just a moment. Just a minute. You found it difficult to get rid of the nagging feeling that he now despised you for doing this, for running away and leaving him, despite the promise you made only a year ago. It was a constant tug-of-war of the heart and the mind, most days leaving you drained in addition to the physical exhaustion.
I miss you.
I hate this uncertain silence that does nothing but bring you forth.
“Y/N? Are you awake?” You hear a voice call out.
You snap yourself out of your thought
“What time is it?” You mumble. Hermione’s sharp ears are used to your morning voice by now. “It’s already 8 in the morning, Y/N. Get up.”
“Goddess!” You shot up, “Why didn’t you wake me up earlier, my shift was supposed to be an hour ago.”
With one less person in your team, as Ron left in his fury, the rest of you had to take shorter rests now.
“It’s fine, I couldn’t sleep anyway,” Hermione reassures her. You stand and make your way down to the table where a cup of steaming tea is left for you. “Are you alright?” You ask.
She merely hums in question but makes no indication that she will answer. Instead, she walks out of the tent to sit on one of the rocks nearby.
“He will be fine, mione.” You say, following her. “Ron has been through so much in the past, I think by this time, he would be able to get by on his own.”
You pull her into a side embrace, holding her close without saying anything as she rests limply underneath your arm. She needed it. Sacrificing the risk of her parents forever forgetting that Hermione was their daughter had taken a heavy toll on your friend. Leaving them in the house she deemed her sanctuary from the destruction, the madness that reigned outside.
With Ron having left the three of you. Although you weren’t as close with the redhead, you knew he had been Hermione’s shoulder— ever since forever. You understood how she felt or even a spectre of it, for you, too, had left someone behind.
Someone that you could only beg the gods remains breathing and unsullied by the encroaching darkness that seemed to follow him.
“And what about you?” Hermione whispered softly, the tears that lined her cheeks dry now. “What do you mean?”
“Nott.” Hearing the name instantly formed a small, melancholic smile on your face.
“I’m your best friend, Y/N. You can stop pretending to be the shield for us now, Harry and I will be here for you. You can cry.”
Your gaze remains fixed on the sight before you. Atop the hill, the pale gold ball of sunlight emerges and bathes the cold stone in warmth. Reminiscent of the days before the Triwizard Cup, before Cedric died. It all seemed so far away now.
“I’ve exhausted all the tears from me already, Hermione. I miss him terribly. I may just crumble beneath his feet the very moment that I see him again.”
“It’s difficult what you had to do. I can’t even begin to decipher it. The both of you had consistently defied, and will likely continue to do so, every misconception that the others had of you back when you were still friends."
“I hate how there was not a scintilla of hesitation and doubt in me when I had to keep so many things from him when I had to lie to him.” You croak out, voice barely above a whisper.
“You did so because you knew that in the end, it wasn't just for the best of the wizarding world that you deliberately did all of that, it’s all for him. You did it because you wanted to keep him safe from that vile, bald head.”
You nod. It's true. Ever since you found out about the abuse that Theo’s father inflicted upon him, you knew that there would come a day when he would pay the price for it. Knowing that he couldn’t escape him before he turned 17, the only solace you can provide is your unwavering companion.
It only weighed on you heavily that Theo would have to endure it all alone again so that you could work to permanently sever the ties between him and his malevolent father..
“We’re kids.”
Tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to spill over, and you clenched your fists in frustration. At Voldemort, at Theo’s father, at your parents who left you all alone, at the lost innocence of your childhood.
“We’re supposed to be ripping our hair off for NEWTS, preparing for life after we leave Hogwarts, dancing and drinking our teenage years away. Why did we have to make all these choices? The storybooks on my shelf speak nothing of this.”
Then, her gaze unwavering firmly set on you as she sat up straight. “We’re doing this so that Voldemort, or any wizard that dares follow his steps, may never inflict the kind of pain on anyone else, the way he did to us and our parents.”

Heart heavy with foreboding and unease, Theodore stands among the students of Hogwarts in the dimly lit Great Hall. The room, devoid of its warm glow and chatter, was bathed in eerie silence where Snape, now the headmaster of Hogwarts, had summoned every student. From the tense shoulders of the man, Theo could only surmise that it was something important. It was rare to see Snape truly bothered.
“Many of you are surely wondering why I have summoned you here at this hour. It came to my attention that earlier this evening... Harry Potter was sighted in Hogsmeade.”
A murmured thrill fills the Hall. Theodore’s eyes widened, as he waited for a sign. If Harry Potter was nearby, it could only mean that you were too.
Snape continues, raising his voice a tad bit to quell the noise. “Should anyone — student or staff — attempt to aid Mr. Potter, that person will be punished in a manner consistent with the severity of their transgression. Rest assured: So long as I am Headmaster at Hogwarts, Harry Potter will never again step foot in this castle.”
Theo only hears the latter of what he said, mind distracted by the idea that you could be in the castle. His feet itched to run out and find you himself. Not an ounce of care for what the man in front is saying.
“Now then. If anyone here has knowledge of Mr. Potter’s movements this evening... I invite them to step forward now.”
However, the sound of footsteps catches his attention in the dead silence, and the younger Slytherin students near him exchange glances with each other. Then a figure appears from the shadows at the back of the hall. Someone that brought forth a sigh of a blend of relief and disbelief from Theo. An action that the younger him would probably scoff at.
“I think I can help you out with that…” Harry exclaims, “It appears that, even with all your thorough defensive measures, you might have a security problem, Headmaster”
The students all stare in utter perplexity, each wondering when and how the bespectacled boy had entered the castle. A vacuous question really for Harry has proven countless times that he is, in several ways, a gifted person who is filled with more courage and resolve than anyone in this room. Even Theodore, who’s good friends with Draco, can admit that fact.
The sight of Harry struck a spark of hope in a place that had grown increasingly bleak since the death of Dumbledore— Diggory’s death if you will. But the spectacle wasn’t yet done there when the doors of the Great Hall swung open, revealing the members of the Order. Their arrival further sets a ripple among the unexpecting students, though from the looks of Harry’s friends, it seems that they were the ones to aid them.
His gaze shifts to watch as one by one, they line up in a defensive pose behind Harry. He Recognizing a few familiar faces like the Weasleys, Hermione, Lovegood, Professor Lupin, Fleaur from Beauxbatons, and even some members of the Ministry.
“How dare you stand where he stood.“ Harry shouts. “Tell them the truth of that night’”
Theodore’s breath catches in his throat. The air becomes suffocating at the reminder of those times, days that still hunt him and the others. He takes slow inhales and exhales to calm himself, knowing that now is not the right time and place.
Snape with his eyes like shards of ice, faced Harry Potter. Theodore watches as he moves as if to retrieve his wand, but before he can do so, McGonagall comes forward and sends a blast in Snape’s direction. Snape pivots and barely rebounds the spell in defence,
Chaos ensues as the rest of the staff leaps forward with their wands out. A short but intense exchange erupted in the middle of the room, making the students shuffle to the side to avoid being hit by the spells and curses that flashed through the air like crackling lightning.
Snape, ever the formidable wizard despite his attitude, held his ground with a stoic determination. But Theo couldn’t help but notice how his old professor merely deflected the curses thrown upon him and never cast his own. It piqued his curiosity knowing that he was a master of the dark arts, prominent in the way lectures were replaced by dark arts in his headship.
In the end, Snape yielded, a moment that sent shockwaves to many.
“A coward, that man.” Professor McGonagall proclaims, before turning to Harry. “Mr. Potter, do you mind telling me what you’re doing here, which, I trust you realise, is an act of complete lunacy?”
Harry replies by simply telling her that he is a Gryffindor which comes to no surprise to the woman. McGonagall then turns to the rest of the students, calling them to settle down after the whole debacle.
Just then, Harry suddenly winces, pressing his palms to his temple, before a rumble rings throughout the Hall. A dark cloud swarming in the Enchanted Ceiling, imminent that the beginning of the war will begin any time now. It is the screams and face of pain that confirms it.
A familiar voice to Theodore sounds off in a deathly whisper in his head. And by the looks of everyone, it was the same for them.
“I know that many of you want to fight. Some of you may even think this is wise. But this is folly. Give me Harry Potter. Do this and none shall be harmed. Give me Harry Potter and I shall leave Hogwarts untouched. Give me Harry Potter and you will be rewarded.“
With that, the whispers recede followed by the dark clouds evaporating into thin air. For a moment, silence ensues. Pansy’s screechy voice scratches in his right ear from where she stands beside him.
“Harry’s right there! Somebody grab him!” Yet nobody gives her a second thought. Everyone’s attention shifts instead to Filch who loudly enters through the Hall, screaming that everyone’s out of bed. The man made Theo chuckle inwardly, making a tiny smirk form on his lips.
“They are supposed to be out of bed, you blithering idiot!” McGonagall tells him off. “Oh right, sorry.”
“Now, as you’re already here, I’d like you to lead the rest of Slytherin House from the Hall to the dungeons.” She adds on before Filch can leave.
Theodore’s thoughts returned, as they always did in the past months, to the one question that haunts the very corners of his mind: Where are you? In this whole happening, his eyes had been moving back and forth towards the group that stood near the large double doors. Trying to catch a glimpse of you in between the still figures. But as you had tortured him, you were still nowhere to be seen and he began to question if you had truly disappeared and left him questions unanswered.
As they were being ushered out of the Hall, he, like many others, was vacillating between insisting upon fighting for Hogwarts or to keep their loyalty to their Slytherin roots. But really, the prevailing choice for him is neither of those. He desperately wants to run towards Hermione and just ask her of your whereabouts.
But before he could approach a decision, Hermione made it for him. He jolts when a hand grasps his forearm, taking him by surprise.
“Nott.” Hermione begins before he cuts her off. “Where is she?”
It must’ve come off louder than he intended to from the way she jumped and the stares from the clutter of students from all directions. But he couldn’t care less, and it seemed that the girl in front of him had just now remembered when he didn't offer an apology.
“Well, it’s nice to see you’re not much different.” She sarcastically says. “Granger. Hermione. I frankly don’t have the time for this and I doubt that you do too, so I beg you to answer me now.”
Theodore’s impatience taking over him, he could not endure another moment without having you within his sight. It was a bit of an uncharacteristic burst of urgency for him and he knew it, but you were different. You, who holds all of his vulnerable entirety in your hands.
“She’s somewhere in the castle, searching for one of the remaining Horcruxes in the castle,” Hermione explains. “Y/N had suggested that we split and she began the search while we had to ward off Snape. We will be doing the same thing now, so if you have any idea of Ravenclaw’s lost diadem location, then that’s where you’ll find her.”
With a simple nod and a meek expression of gratitude, he runs off to a place where he begs must hold such a priceless object. It would be somewhere close by but nowhere that it can be easily found.
In the corner of his eyes, Theo caught a glimpse of Harry sprinting towards a distant hallway before rounding a corner. Knowing that by now he must have an idea of where it is, Theo makes a sprint for it. He cautiously peers around the hallway where he sees a door materialising in front of Harry.
Before he can approach Harry to accompany him inside the Room of Requirement, he sees the unmistakable form of his two friends, Draco and Blaise, along with Goyle, discreetly following Harry inside. He muttered frustrated curses under his breath, knowing that those three would make trouble.
He enters through the door, where he makes a dash along the stockpile of objects that seemingly never seems to lessen with every step he takes. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, but still a lingering tension persisted, as he saw Harry’s figure running.
“Potter!” He calls out to the boy, casting aside any lingering apprehension he once held for the boy. “Did you find it?”
Harry halts in his run, taking a moment to catch his breath before responding to Theo. In truth, he wasn’t surprised that Theo was here with him, but rather, more so that you weren’t the object of his first question to him.
“I think so, the sound keeps getting louder.” He answers.
“It should be somewhere near now.” He continues. “Let’s go then.”
Theo quietly takes his place beside Harry as they weave their way through the maze of ancient objects and furniture. They continue until Harry stops, causing Theo to freeze in his step.
There you stood, a presence that seemed to penetrate his very being. The only person who plagued his thoughts, you had woven yourself into every conscious moment and every corner of his mind.
Now that you were a mere five steps away from him, he couldn’t conjure the nerve to move forward, feeling himself paralyzed.
Was it the fear that held him back? The nagging thought that this might be just another dream of his? He couldn’t grapple at an answer, but by the length of your hair that now sits at your shoulders, he would like to believe that maybe this was indeed you. This was you, and before he realised it, he was all but standing still.
A sharp gasp escapes your lips as you nearly lose your footing, feeling a heavy weight press to your back. The sensation of those familiar long arms enveloping you in a tight embrace sent your heart racing, the shock of it sending a rush of emotions through you.
For a fleeting moment, it felt that your body had become one with the ground, immobilised by the torrent of emotions surging through you. But then when the realisation finally sinks into you, the tension that seemed to course through you suddenly dissolves and you willingly surrender yourself to the warmth of his embrace.
You turn, your hands tracing a graceful path across his back. It had been far too long, and you couldn’t imagine being apart from him for such an extended period ever again.
The background fades into obscurity. Harry was forgotten, a distant blur that moved with the others. Your eyes filled with relief and that soft, affectionate expression that he adored. All he could see was you, the person he had yearned for and feared losing in the world you both live in.
Theo’s defences crumbled, and he finally surrendered to the weight of his emotions. He couldn’t find a part of him that would care if others saw him right now. Tears flowed freely down his flushed cheeks, like a torrential downpour.
“I’m here. Theo, I’m back with you.” Your arms held him, gently rocking him as you tried to soothe his nerves.
“Never leave me alone again.” He choked on the words, his voice raw and rugged with pain. “I beg you.”
“I won’t be going anywhere, I promise. I’m sorry for having to leave so suddenly.” You whispered, your voice filled with genuine remorse. Out of the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of movement behind some cabinets— a flash of white.
“But we’ll have to talk later.” You continued, turning your focus back to Theo. “We need to get rid of this Horcrux.”
“Horcrux?” He asks, pulling back from the crook of your neck. “Hermione mentioned that when I asked about you.”
“It’s one of the many things that Voldemort has done to ensure his immortality.” You explained, your tone carrying a sense of urgency. “But if we get rid of it, we’re one step closer to finally banishing him for good.”
He opens his mouth to say something but before he can, he is interrupted by Draco, with Blaise and Goyle, stepping into view. “Well, well, what brings you here, Potter? And Theo, what are you doing with them?”
Your gaze shifts back at Harry who had only realised that you had some other company. “I could ask you the same.” You retort.
Theo, however, pays his friend no mind. Instead, he leans to your ear, his voice a hushed whisper. “We should get that thing while Draco is still preoccupied with Harry.”
You could make a run for it; it seemed that Draco didn’t care for your purpose inside the room. Rather busy demanding your friend for his wand back, the very one you had accidentally brought back with you from the Malfoy Manor.
“- its allegiance is to me now. If you want it, you’ll have to win it back. Perhaps even kill me…” You hear Harry proclaim. You silently curse your friend for his recklessness, tired of his cavalier attitude with his life simply because he’s braved the risk of death before. You kept your eyes trained on Draco, knowing that despite his hesitation before, he might act on it now.
His wand hand twitches.
Brow conflicted.
Uneasy eyes settling somewhere behind you. You look behind to see a silhouette of a girl with a wand pointed in your direction, before you can see who it is, a ball of scarlet light emerges and briefly lights up her face and hits Draco’s hand.
“Avada Kedavra!” You were pulled back by Theo, landing on the ground with his body catching the fall. You watch as the spell ricochets and sends the diadem, which was sitting peacefully in its encasement on the table, flying away.
You spring to your feet, a burst of adrenaline propelling you forward to catch the item before it vanishes on you in this labyrinth. Your hand barely grazed the edge of the jewelled headband and with a quick nod to Harry and Hermione a nod to escape this room. Meanwhile, you’re confused as to where Ron had disappeared off to.
The red-head gives you your answer when he comes running from somewhere followed by a  twisting serpent made of scarlet flames. “Run! Goyle’s set the bloody place on fire!”
With your right hand clutching the crown, you secure a firm grip on Theo’s hand, which rests lightly on your waist. The five of you dash through the towering heaps of debris that would likely be a pile of smouldering ashes and soot. A quick glance behind you reveals flames that draw closer, mutating into different forms: serpents, dragons, and the like, each following you so closely that sweat beads form on the nape of your neck.
“Keep running!” Harry shouts when Hermione sees Draco scaling a mountain of furniture. You were still running for your life when suddenly Harry spots a stack of broomsticks. TO which you all took one and began to speed across the room.
The flames explode behind you, You and Theo, who decided to share, barely elude the snap of its jaw.
“Wait! What about Malfoy and Blaise!” Harry screams at the rest of you, your head turns to look back at the two who are barely hanging on as the flames continue to destroy the room. It was only a matter of time before it reached them and they would have nowhere to go.
“You grab them!” Theo replied, his voice scratchy and painful from the amount of smoke you’ve inhaled.
“Are you serious? He’s joking right?” Ron asks Hermione, to which you instead reply. “No, he’s not! Go get them!”
Harry and Ron sweeps down, swiftly reaching out to grasp Draco and Blaise’s outstretched hands. While you, Theo, and Hermione went ahead as a giant beam of light appeared in the distance, a radiating beacon. It’s Hermione, hovering on her broom with her wand raised.
Then, with Harry and Ron in tow, you all fly headlong towards Hermione’s beacon. And in an instant, your sight dissolved into a blinding whiteness.

Your eyes flutter open, your senses returning to you in a hazy rush. You felt someone shaking you furiously, and in your disoriented state, you instinctively pushed them away. But arms instead wrapped around you and pulled you into a warm chest.
“You’re fine!” The person evidently shakes in relief, before you feel a gentle bush of lips against your temple.
Blinking away the remnants of confusion, you look up to see Theo’s striking blue eyes already intently focused on you., striking a shiver across your spine “You couldn’t get rid of me that easily.” You joked weakly, a tiny smile on your face.
Theo’s expression softened, and he tightened his hold on you as if he was afraid that you might disappear again. “I thought I lost you there,” He tells you, voice barely above a whisper. “When I saw you just lying there, unmoving… I was utterly terrified.”
You reach up and gently cup his cheek, wiping away the dark ash that sullied it with your thumb. “Like I said, love, I’m not going anywhere,” Your voice filled with reassurance, and you sit properly to kiss him softly, sealing your promise in that tender moment.
But as with everything else, it was interrupted by an awkward cough behind you.
“You guys done there? We still have some things to do?” Ron retorts. To which Hermione slaps him in the chest.
You laugh and hum in tease. “Well, actually I think we could do with some more snogging here.” Ron merely groans. “No, please. I don’t wanna see that.”
The both of you stand from where you sit, your hands still entwined, hearts racing. “Where’s Draco and Blaise, by the way?” You ask Theo. “They ran off somewhere.”
As they all stepped out of the corridor, they caught you up on what happened while you were unconscious. Harry had stabbed the diadem with a basilisk fang which Ron and Hermione retrieved from the Chamber and threw it back towards the Room of Requirement where it blew up into flames.
You look at Harry who was staring into the distance, his face still bearing the trace of the agony he must’ve endured when he stabbed the diadem.
“It’s the snake. She’s the last one. The last Horcrux.” Harry speaks up.
“Where do you think he’ll take it?” Theo asks from beside you. “Somewhere safe. He’ll be keeping her close to him.”
“You should go ahead, Theo and I will stay here to help with the others.” You tell your friends, while Harry tries to locate Voldemort with his mind.
“I know where he is.” He finally comes back. “Let’s go.”
“The three of you keep safe alright?” You remind them as you all run towards the battlefield, where many of your friends stand fighting. They nod, promising you that they will and in return make you and Theo swear you’ll be careful.

In the courtyard, where students and staff trade spells with the Death Eaters that littered across the school grounds, you quickly join them, making sure that you are in sight of the other. The unspoken promise to do so served as a beacon of comfort amidst the chaos you were faced with.
From the upper balcony, your eyes scanned the battlefield, assessing the danger that lurked when you saw a Death Eater poised to send a curse to Luna from behind. Without a second thought, you unleashed a forceful flick of your wand, sending a powerful spell toward the Death Eater which sent him tumbling through the air and straight to the waters beyond the castle.
Luna, whose signature dream-like demeanour was replaced by an expression of gratitude, turns and locks eyes with you. She offered you one of her wide smiles, “Thanks! Y/n, glad to see you back here!”
Your heart swelled with warmth for your friend. “Don’t mention it, happy to see you also, Luna.” You quickly reply before returning to battle when you are hit by a deafening blast straight on the chest. You were raised to the air before you crashed into the floor below.
Tumblr media
Theodore Nott fought valiantly in the courtyard, proving to the others that the dark mark that covered his right arm bore no significance to the man. His wand moved in a blur of motion in the onslaught of Death Eater. His thoughts were empty save for the ever-present worry that plagued him for your safety.
From his vantage point on the ground level, he does a quick scan of the courtyard, his heart pounding in his chest. The grisly sight of students and friends, along with the staff all stood their ground against the dark forces that dared penetrate their home. It filled him with a mixture of pride and fear.
And then, his eyes flicked onto a scene that made his heart skip a beat. From the upper balcony, he sees you with your wand in hand and your expression resolute as you defend Luna, a dear friend of yours. It filled him with a warm emotion at the sight of your strong determination to protect her.
But then in a blink of an eye, disaster struck. A blast struck you square in the chest, lifting you off your feet in shock and sending you crashing down. Theo’s heart which skipped a beat earlier had now wholly stopped, his blood turning to ice as he watched in horror.
With everything in him, he surges forward through the chaos to catch you before you fall down. But as he was still many steps away from you, you dropped full force into the stone ground. Panic fueled his every step as he ran towards your motionless form now with even more speed than he ever thought a human possibly could.
He feels his gut twinge at the bloody sight, a sickly feeling developing in the deep recesses of his body, the wand heavy in his hands then. His lips bore no sound as tried to call your name, his heart was twisted in his throat.
He knelt beside you, pulling you into his lap and checking you for your injuries. To his relief, your breathing was still steady for what had just happened to you and you didn’t seem to take any damage to the head, Still, he carried your disoriented body in his arms bridal style.
As he began to stand, his eyes went back to where you had previously been, searching for the source of the blast that struck you down. And then, with a shock that sent chills down his spine, he sees a familiar old face.
His father.
He sets you down somewhere safe inside the castle, without taking his sight away from his father. By the time he returns back to where you both were, his father is now advancing towards him with a sinister, triumphant grin on his face. It was a face that had been both a source of fear and disappointment throughout his life.
The face that caused his mother’s death.
“Father,” Theodore muttered, his voice laced with a blend of anger, disbelief, and a profound sense of betrayal. That despite all he’s done for him, his father still stood there with not an ounce of recognition that he was faced with his son. It was as if he had truly sunk to the depths of his loyalty to Voldemort and there was no other obligation for him except for his unwavering loyalty.
Their eyes were locked in a moment of tense, silent confrontation. He knew that this battle was only physical but also a battle of his loyalties. He had to protect you, he had to stand against his father, and he had to make a choice that would define the course of his life.
With the courtyard around them paying no specific attention to the father and son, it was only fair to say that everything else faded into the background for them too. Father and son. Standing on opposing sides, driven by their own convictions and beliefs, the younger no longer waited.
He was no, father, not in the true sense of the word. He was merely a shadow of a man, a heartless figure who stood there—grinning as if he had just claimed the grand prize in this twisted lottery.
In that moment, he had not only attacked the one person who held his son’s heart after he took away the other one but he had also torn away the last remaining fragments of the bond that tied the two of them.
His father had no time to react when Theodore raised his wand in a swift manner, hurling him violently to the cold, unforgiving wall across the castle. He rained down curses after cruses upon his father’s assailable body, each blow driven by a potent combination of anger and a fierce desire to defend.
“Stay” He seethed, punctuating his rage with a curse. “Away” Another spell. “From” The onslaught of his attack never ceased despite the dawn that slowly began to fade into view. “Her!” Each word carried the weight of an entire lifetime’s amount of hurt as Theo relentlessly battered his father until he was left into nothing but a fraction of what he used to be.
His eyes are glazed and unfocused as he continues this torture until he comes to a grip on reality when strong arms pull him away. It takes him a moment to realise that the battle has ceased.
The two people behind him dragged him away, from his father's still body. But still, his eyes remained locked onto him, unable to shift it away. The cold fire in him terrified the others that they had passed. They whispered that nothing could compare to the kind of fury and destruction that he was sure to rain upon his enemies.

“Wake up, Y/N. Please.” Theo’s voice quivered, his words trembling on the precipice of his emotions. His eyes, blurred by the veil of his tears, bore a weight drastically different than it did only hours ago.
Eyes that failed to veil the inner turmoil that plagued him. The entire battle against Voldemort had taken its toll on both of them, leaving them stranded from each other for nearly half a year, but seeing you this way…
He watched from a chair beside you as the healers worked diligently, silently begging them to look at you again, despite numerous assurances that you are now stable. His fingers unconsciously flexed at his sides, a manifestation of the anxiety that controls him.
The fear of losing you, the anger towards his father, the overwhelming relief that you are alive– it all left him in a state of disconcerting.
As he waits for you to wake, he couldn’t help but reminisce on all that the both of you had been through. The trials, the secrets, the moments of love and laughter everywhere and anywhere. You were not just some person he loved; you were his best friend, his reason.
His eyes welled up with tears, and he wiped them away hastily. He needs to be strong for both of you, just as you will in your state of unconsciousness. He knew that your love had emerged stronger than ever in this crucible of war. So he made a silent promise to himself that he would do whatever it takes to take you away from any danger that dares creep upon you.
Finally, as if an eternity had passed, your voice broke through the silence. He jumps up in shock at the sound. You had slowly begun to stir in your makeshift bed in the Great Hall, your eyelids fluttering as you emerged from the depths of unconsciousness. The world felt hazy at first. But as your senses gradually returned, you became aware of the hustle and bustle of the people around you and you tried to call attention.
Theo sees that you were trying to say something but from the scratchy tone that instead came out, you were in need of some water so he ran to the nearest jug he found and helped you sit up so you could properly drink.
Then, as your vision cleared, you saw Theo sitting by your bedside and that he was the one that quenched the dryness that lined your throat., his eyes locked onto hers with a mixture of relief and worry.
His face broke into a gentle smile as he saw you recognize him. “Y/N” He whispered, his voice cracking as he began to cry once more. “You’re awake, you’re back. Thank Merlin!”
You manage a weak smile in return, your throat still dry and your body aching from the attack on you. You tried to speak, but your voice came out raspy. “Theo.”
Theo reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair from the side of your face, his touch gentle as ever. “You’re going to be okay.” He says, but it was more like he was also trying to convince himself. “You had me worried there for a while. I am this close to tying you up in a chair because you have caused me nothing but stress lately.”
As the both of you lay on the bed after you guilted him into laying beside you, your memories of the battle and the moments leading up to your injury slowly came back. You remembered Luna, the chaos, and the deafening blast that nearly took you away. But most of all, you remember the face of the person who did this to you.
Tears welled up in your eyes as you reached out to hold his hand, your fingers entwined in a silent, unspoken connection. “You must have been like a hero back there, then?” You gently try to ask him.
“More like a monster.” He mutters, unable to bring his eyes to you. The truth is he felt horrible after he finally calmed down. He was disgusted with himself and how he acted. He let his rage take control and acted like a monster. “What do you mean?”
“I was just like him, leaving him unable to fight back like he did to Mom and I back then. I just fired curses and curses at him. It was like a veil had draped over me and all I wanted was to protect you and destroy anything and anyone that dared harm you. ”
You call his name. But he doesn’t respond and continues to stare off into the distance with a glazed-over expression. You reach out to cup his cheeks to pull his gaze towards you. “Theodore, look at me.”
He hums, now staring at you but still he can’t hide the tumultuous emotions that were a storm inside him. “You are not like your father, Theo.” You said softly. “Just from what you told me, you are a gazillion ways different from him. You didn’t cower behind the fear he caused you. Instead, you faced him head on, and defended not only me but also your mother from his cruelty.”
Theo looks at you, his eyes searching yours for affirmation. “How?” He meekly asks.
“You took away the power that he boasts to have over you. '' You replied. Tone unwavering. “You showed him that you will never, ever, become anything like he is."
Your words hung in the air, a testament to Theo’s strength. At that moment, he realised that he had broken free from the shadows of his father’s influence and that he had chosen a different path. A path that is defined by love, courage, and a refusal to be controlled by his fear.
“I’m here because of you. I strived each day so that I could go back to you.” You whispered, your gaze never leaving Theo’s. “And I'm not going anywhere.”
Theo’s eyes shimmered with tears as he leaned in to gently kiss your forehead. “I love you.” He murmured, “I am in love with you, physically, rhetorically, every -ly.”
You laugh at his cheekiness, “I love you too.” You close your eyes for a moment, allowing yourself to drown in the wave of his love that washed over you. Giving his hands a squeeze as you raise them to lay a kiss upon the back of his hand.
In that Great Hall, amidst the scars of battle and the uncertainty of the future, they had found something precious in the very same place where two 11-year-old kids once locked eyes and found a connection.

It stands to reason that Harry’s holding groceries when he runs into Draco Malfoy for the first time in twenty years.
Well— doesn’t run into, exactly. No, more like peers through a shop window like a right barmy bastard, bits of overspilling lettuce brushing his arm and passers-by on Diagon shooting him strange looks.
Of course Malfoy has to look up from the till— because, yes, Draco Malfoy is a shopkeeper on Diagon Alley apparently— and see him goggling. So, of course, Harry has to step inside, as though he meant to make a stop at— right, yeah, Narcissus Needlework Studio— all along, holding brown paper packages of vegetables.
Malfoy’s frowning when Harry makes his way over to the till.
“I don’t want any trouble,” he says. “I’ve registered the shop, everything’s perfectly within regulation—“
“Trouble?” Harry blinks. “Oh, no. I’m not an Auror. Anymore.”
“I know that,” Malfoy says unhappily. “The whole Wizarding World all over Europe knows that. Only you’ve never left well enough alone, have you, Potter?”
Harry’s forty next month. He’s lived twenty years seeing hide nor hair of Draco Malfoy, and he’s never gone looking. Well, except for that one time when he was twenty one and went to the Manor as a trainee Auror for a— well, it was a routine check, really. And that other time when he was twenty five and thought he saw a man at a club who looked just like Malfoy from the back and was convinced for four months Malfoy was back in London and must be up to something if no one knew about it. And that time when he was thirty two— and, oh, alright, Harry hasn’t ever left well enough alone, not when it comes to Malfoy, at least.
This time, though, Harry really didn’t go looking. And it’s definitely Malfoy.
“I just wanted some— thread,” Harry says. A needlework studio should have some of that, shouldn’t it?
“Thread,” says Malfoy. He looks down, deliberately, at Harry’s lettuce.
“For Molly,” Harry says. “As a, um, birthday present. New shop on Diagon, thought I’d pop by. Seemed the place, you know. Didn’t know it was yours.”
Molly’s birthday, Malfoy doesn’t need to know, is in December. It’s June.
Malfoy continues to stare at him, until Harry’s unsure whether to get indignant about it all or turn tail and flee.
“Well,” says Malfoy before he can make a choice. “Embroidery yarn for you, then, Potter. Come along.”
-
“I’ll see you again, I assume,” Malfoy says at the end of what transpires to be a surprisingly smooth purchase.
Harry nods.
He only realises after he leaves that there’s no reason for him to come back. He’s seen it for himself— what Draco Malfoy’s up to these days. Nothing nefarious or suspicious, just yarn and needles and tapestries on Diagon.
Except, well, he’s committed now, hasn’t he? And Harry Potter’s a man of his word. He said yes, when Malfoy asked— Malfoy asked!— so he’ll be back.
And really, if he has to invent Hermione’s sudden new and passionate interest in needlework— well. That’s between Harry and his lettuce.
written for @drarrymicrofic’s prompt “sewing”. i just personally think harry james potter could be seventy five and still rapidly become obsessed with draco malfoy at any given moment.

Note
hello <3 love your recs and i always look forward to discovering tropes i never knew i liked from this blog. don't know if this has been done before (probably, it's a common enough trope methinks), but anything for draco falling first and harry falling harder? preferably from draco's pov since i loveeeee when the oblivious narrator gets confronted with just how ardently they're wanted.
Hi anon! Sure, here are some recs for you :)
Touch Me Fall by @lqtraintracks (E, 23k)
Malfoy was such a ponce. And he was a complete snob. And he was so fucking fit Harry wanted to jump him where he sat. It would be too easy to forget his objective tonight: to really, really, really get Malfoy out of his system.
Welcome to the Broom Closet by incapricious (E, 23k)
Harry thinks he knows how his life will go: Become an Auror. Marry Ginny. Have a family. But then he sees an advertisement in the paper that no one else can see, and his life is turned upside-down. The Broom Closet: you can be anyone you want while you're there, but you won't remember it in the morning.
Waiting By An Open Door by Femme, noeon (E, 29k)
Draco starts following Potterwatch secretly during the War. He wishes Potter would come save him too. But that sort of thing only happens in fairy tales, and Malfoys don't get fairy tale endings, do they?
Open For Repairs by FeelsForBreakfast (M, 35k)
After the war, Draco works at a tv repair shop and Harry breaks things.
Here's The Pencil, Make It Work by ignatiustrout (M, 49k)
Harry thinks "Why is Malfoy working in a coffee shop in muggle London?" is a much simpler question than, "Are you going to accept that auror offer and, if you don't, what will you do?"
In the Shadow of Your Heart by @lqtraintracks (E, 52k)
And thus began the very strange circumstance of their fake dating in public and real fucking in absolute secret. It was, with no comparison, the weirdest relationship Draco had ever been in – which was to say, it wasn't one.
The Boy Who Only Lived Twice by lettered (E, 54k)
Harry Potter is an Unspeakable. Draco Malfoy is the wizard who shagged him. Adventure! Intrigue! Secret identities, celebrities, spies! It's all right here, folks.
You open always (petal by petal) by birdsofshore (E, 65k)
Harry’s not the kind of person who pays for sex. He really isn’t. Until he is.
We Are Young (I'll Carry You Home Tonight) by Femme (E, 68k)
Harry and Draco have been falling into bed on and off again since the last election five years ago, much to the amusement--and financial gain--of their circle of friends. But when Harry agrees to work with Draco to put Kingsley Shacklebolt into the Minister's office, they can't work side-by-side again every day and sleep together; that would be courting disaster. Wouldn't it?
All Our Secrets Laid Bare by firethesound (E, 149k)
Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.
The Star Splitter by oflights (E, 219k) - Harry falls first and harder, but I think you’ll enjoy Draco’s pov
On a routine time travel assignment to the past, Draco stumbles upon 7-year-old Harry Potter and witnesses his neglect and mistreatment by the Dursleys. In the moment, there is only one solution, even if it goes against all his training as a Time Agent: he has to bring Harry back to the future with him.
A Secondary Education by Thunderbird587 (E, 234k)
Fleeing the aftermath of his recent divorce, Draco Malfoy takes up a post as the new Potions Master at Hogwarts. At first he believes his hopes for a fresh start are dashed when he sees that a certain boyhood rival is on staff there as well. But Harry Potter is being weirdly nice to him, leaving Draco no choice but to play along.

Fake Hatred
Draco x Fem!Reader
Summary: Draco and Reader hate each other. Everybody knows it, even Draco’s friends. But they have suspicions and their gut feelings aren’t wrong.
Warnings: “Enemies” to lovers, bets, mentions of labeling someone “Princess” and “Prince”, one swear/bad word, jealous Pansy, little crying, anger, protectiveness from Draco.
Note: I honestly kinda hate it, but it was requested and/so I hope it’s satisfactory. :/

The voices were muffled, purposely speaking low to not be heard. Their meeting and conversation was hushed to the minimum volume, caution constantly running through their veins so they wouldn’t get caught.
“I bet ya; ten gallons.”
A scoff was heard. “Ten gallons? That’s it? Make it twenty.”
There was a moment of silence so we can only assume the other person shook or nodded their head.
“Come on! We’re talking about the Slytherin Prince and Princess-If I’m right on this I gotta get a better reward.”
Another scoff. “Fine. But I won’t have to worry about it since I know I’m right in this.”
Yet another moment of silence, meaning another head movement of their choice.
“Whatever you say, I know I’m right.”
“Eh? How ‘bout we make this really interesting?”
The person chuckled, and that’s when we can put names to the voices, since that particular chuckle was oh so recognizable. It was Crabbe and Blaise. And Crabbe was the one who laughed.
“What? You already got money involved I don’t know how it can get any better.”
Blaise didn’t verbally respond, so it gave the impression he made a facial expression; a smirk, if you will.
“How ‘bout we give him, ya know, a little push?”
Crabbe made a loud reaction and Blaise was quick to shush, yet another silent moment to tell us that they were looking left and right for any sign of someone being there.
Once they were giving the reassurance that there was no evident difference in the air, they continued.
“Be quiet, loud mouth. Make a sound that loud again and someone will for sure be right at the end of the corridor.”
Blaise was speaking through clenched teeth, voice barely leaving his mouth.
Crabbe let out a sound of annoyance. “Not my fault you picked the most echoey one out of all the school.”
There was a slapping sound then, like Blaise smacked Crabbe’s shoulder. (The slap was followed by a quiet whine of protest.)
“Whatever-anyway, what do ya think? Mm?”
Crabbe thought for a moment. “Nah; let’s drop signs to the princess.”
“Signs of what?”
“Do I really have to spell it out for ya? That he likes her, duh.”
After a moment Blaise made a clicking sound with his tongue as a sign of agreement. “Not bad, Crabbe. Not bad at all.”
The discussion went back and forth on a plan once one of the two plans was favored, but what they didn’t know was that the person Malfoy supposedly had an interest in was right behind the wall they were leaning on, knowing everything they said. She heard enough, leaving her hiding place with a soft smirk on her face.
Tumblr media
“Where have you been?”
Although the voice held annoyance and frustration for Pansy’s eye, she heard concern and worry laced through it like a knitted clothing item.
Her heart softly fluttered at his concern but scoffed nonetheless.
“Like you care.” She snapped back instead.
Pansy rolled her eyes at the usual encounter between the two Slytherins.
“Gosh, won’t you two sort it out? Merlin’s sake.”
“Shut up Parkinson.” Malfoy barked and she instantly sank in her seat like she usually does when Draco orders her.
“Whatever,” Pansy muttered, trying to sound like Malfoy’s remark didn’t affect her. “I’m gonna go find the guys so they can study with us. I just know they won’t do it later on their own.”
Pansy left with a roll of her eyes, robes swooping behind her as she left the Common Room.
As soon as Pansy’s robes were out of sight, his pale fingers laced with the girl’s next to him under the table on his knee.
Tumblr media
“Blaise? Crabbe?”
The sound of hushed talking was heard despite her call out to the student behind the door Pansy was, so she turned around the corner to find the two boys whispering among themselves. She crossed her arms in front of her chest.
“What are you two morons murmuring about?”
The two boys stopped talking immediately at the third voice, both heads snapping in her direction as if they just got caught with their hands in a cookie jar.
“Nothing.” Crabbe said, clearly lying.
Pansy again rolled her eyes for the millionth time that day.
“Whatever. We have to go study for Snape’s test- we have to get back before they kill each other.”
Pansy turned around to head back to the Common Room so she didn’t see the smirk they exchanged before they followed her.
Tumblr media
“I see you guys have already started studying.”
The teasing tone used came from Crabbe, his lips turned into a smirk as well as Blaise’s when they saw what was in front of them.
Draco and the girl were holding hands on the table, but once they heard another presence the fingers separated at the speed of lightning.
Pansy’s face held an otherwise expression, her mouth agape and eyes sightly glazed with tears.
“What the absolute hell?” She barked, pointing at them with disgust written all over her face.
“Yeah, what she said.” Blaise joined in one the teasing, chuckling lightly at Pansy’s reaction.
“Since when did this become any of you guys’ business?” Draco snapped suddenly.
The two boys held up their hands on defense, but Pansy wasn’t having it.
“I could treat you better, Dray. Better than whatever that is.” She said, gesturing to the poor girl sitting at the table, her lips turned downward in a small frown at the other Slytherin’s words.
“Snap that stupid mouth shut, it never knows when to.” Draco ordered, gripping the girl’s hand again once he angrily packed their books together in their bags. He grabbed them in his hand, swooping them over his shoulder, eyes glaring upon them.
“Now, if you guys don’t mind, which I don’t care if you do, we’re gonna go study in some peace and quiet without all you three nagging about what you think is your business.”
He lead the girl out without another word, fingers laced together.
Pansy scoffed despite the tears in her eyes. She walked away quickly, hands coming up to her face when she did so.
“So much for the signs.” Crabbe said.
Blaise smacked his arm for the second time that day in response.
“Shut up, Crabbe.”

Draco paced the halls aimlessly trying to find you, having noticed you disappear for long periods of time.
He tried to wrap his head around the fact that you seemed distant and down. Something changed in you since you both came back from break. Chosen to be the new death eaters had been taking it’s toll, having to be on the wrong side of right without a choice.
The last place he thought to look at was the astronomy tower, you’d never be up there alone with your fear of heights, but he went anyway.
He saw a glimpse of your figure “I’ve been looking for you” relief struck him for a split second as he got closer. “what are you doing?” That relief quickly changed into worry as he saw you sitting on the railing, legs dangling towards the outer side.
Taking a breath you spoke up, not looking back “what’s the point?” The shakiness in your voice gave away the fact you had been crying, but also the fear of being so far up, barley able to see the way down.
“What do you mean?” Draco took a cautious step forward not sure wether approaching you would make it less inclined for you to fall or not.
You shook your head, more tears streaming down your face.
“Im sure whatever it is, we can talk about it together if you come down” he tried persuading you but the thoughts in your head were spinning too loudly to hear anything else.
You and Draco lived very similar lives, shared similar experiences, probably a reason why you got along so great since the very moment you met, at just eleven years old; Even now, the dark side of things was also something you shared desperately wishing it was different.
Like Draco, wanting your parents to be proud of your achievements got you this far except now you’re in too deep and things are getting too real.
“Were followers of one man. All this death and pain because of him, and in the end, if everything goes to plan it’ll all be for him; but what’s left for us? Living in fear for the rest of our lives not having the courage to speak up? Having to see and destroy innocent people’s lives for the rest of ours, and for what?” A sarcastic laugh left you, though it seemed more like a cry “because one man wants all the power, something we’ll never benefit from”. Draco’s eyes watered and his heart raced at the sight of you, not quite knowing what to do just yet, but deciding on letting you finish before he spoke.
“How do we live with ourselves knowing what we know? Doing what we do?” You turned your head to look his way giving him full view of your reddened eyes. “But we’re death eaters right? We’ve ‘earned’ that title… we were chosen” sarcasm crept its way into your voice. You looked back down to the depths, heart racing more than before.
Draco could see your conflicting thoughts as he took one more step closer afraid you’d do the unthinkable. “Y/n” he breathed out in a whisper afraid to raise his voice at your fragile state.
“It’s all been taken away from us, don’t you see?!” You desperately said. “Piece by piece. So slowly we didn’t notice at first, but now… our school, our home, our freedom; it’s all gone.”
You gripped the railing tighter, frustration and sadness expelling through you. “And maybe, if we’re lucky we get to keep our lives. But what’s to keep if we have nothing left?”
He saw as tears fell from your cheeks down to the abyss. If he didn’t act now he wasn’t sure if you’d hold on any longer.
“WE HAVE EACHOTHER” he spoke loud enough to get your attention on him and out of your head.
“You’re right, it’s killing us. But we can’t to this alone, we need each other. I need you.” He took two steps forward this time standing right beside you ready to catch you if you fall. “I can’t loose you, I won’t survive. So please, get down; and I promise I will do everything in me to bring you back to life or die trying.”
Your eyes wandered to his, Draco’s filled with a mix of hurt, hope and fear, yet you felt the security he emulated trying to keep you from harm.
He made sure to hold you tight as you shifted yourself back towards him, having you safely on the ground, he made you one last promise he intended to keep “whatever happens I will always stick by you, we don’t leave each other behind”

People always complain that Harry “forgave” Severus too easily, especially with the whole naming-his-son-after-him thing, and blah blah blah. First, let me make it clear that I think all of Harry’s kids’ names are an abomination. The fact that it seems Ginny had no say in them whatsoever is even more infuriating. I mean, I understand naming two of his kids after his dead parents, but I think it was completely unnecessary for Rowling to go as far as she did with everything else.
That said, I don’t think Harry forgave Severus. I think Harry simply understood Severus in the end. He understood why Snape was the way he was, what had led him to where he ended up, and why he had that awful personality. Harry is a character who shows an immense ability to understand the root of evil and empathize with other people’s motivations when there’s a good explanation behind them.
Harry decides not to testify against the Malfoys because he understands that, despite being a bunch of jerks, they did what they did because they had no other choice. He comes to this realization through Narcissa betraying Voldemort to save Draco and through Severus’s memories, where Snape and Dumbledore explain that Voldemort had given Draco no way out. Harry understands that Dudley spent his whole life being a jerk and a bully, heavily influenced by his parents, and that once Dudley became aware of how awful his behavior was, he regretted it and apologized.
It’s not that Harry forgets what people did to him; it’s that he understands that people have motivations beyond simply being good or bad. When Harry understands those motivations and sees that, in the end, they choose the right path (even if it’s not in the most orthodox way), he just decides to let things be.
I think the same happened with Severus, with an added layer of gratitude for realizing that, despite being a jerk, the guy ultimately worked to make sure neither Harry nor his friends ended up dead. Even though Snape couldn’t stand to look Harry in the eye, he still honored his commitment to protect him and followed through with Dumbledore’s plans. And I think that’s quite coherent on Harry’s part because, as kids, we tend to see things in black and white. But for those of us who’ve had to live with highly dysfunctional adults whose behavior we couldn’t stand, we often realize as adults that the problem came from not understanding the root of those behaviors. Understanding them doesn’t make those actions any better, nor does it make us forget what they did, but it does bring a certain peace because we can finally rationalize a motive. That makes it easier to close those chapters of our lives.
Harry understood why Severus did what he did. He understood that, despite everything, Snape risked and ultimately lost his life for a good cause, that he was willing to bear the role of the villain and endure loneliness for most of his life to maintain his cover. Snape sacrificed everything—his youth, his reputation, his personal ambitions, and his own life—to repay a debt. He always did what needed to be done, especially the things no one else wanted to do. Severus did the dirty work, and Harry recognized and valued that, which is why he considered him an incredibly brave man.
Dumbledore himself said that it takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but even more to stand up to your friends. Severus stood up to both—friends and enemies. He constantly navigated between two worlds to which he never fully belonged or was truly accepted, much like the dichotomy between his magical and Muggle heritage. But he faced it all and kept going. That’s what Harry recognized, that’s what Harry valued, and that’s why he decided to clear Snape’s name and ensure he was acknowledged.
The fact that Harry could understand this while so many people continue to reduce Severus to a creepy, obsessive, and bitter man says a lot about some people’s lack of reading comprehension and others’ lack of empathy.

Drarry Fic Rec List: Us Vs The World
The list I want to show you to day is one I especially adore: fics with strong vibe of "us against the world". They could be good, they could be bad, they could save the world, they could destroy it, they could simply go on with their lives. No matter what, they will always have each other.
- Hell & Other Places (M; 2,5k) by @tepre
OR: 9 times Draco said ‘I love you’ and 1 time he didn’t.
Draco & Harry are sent to investigate a haunted Bed & Breakfast.
- Vis-à-Vis-à-Vis (E; 49999) by @vukovich
Harry's assignment was simple. Close out Draco Malfoy's missing persons case so he can be declared dead.
But who's making withdrawals from Malfoy's vaults? How is a death omen-turned-Unspeakable involved? Is an organization known as the Moirai to blame?
Harry brushes it off until he can't. Until The Prophet is flooded with sightings of dead people. Until Robards throws himself on his sword. Until Ron turns on his own family. Until Harry scarcely trusts his own reflection in the mirror and trusts the stranger in his bed even less.
Until all that stands between war and peace is Harry, a name plate, a stadium of murderers, and Draco Malfoy.
God save the Ministry.
- Basement Level 9 (M; 2k) by @fw00shy
Draco was behind the bomb that blew up Level 10, though they didn't talk about it.
- Stay with Me 'Til Morning (R; 8,4k) by Lucilla Darkate
In a once upon a time world, white magic would triumph over black, good would carry the day, evil would be vanquished, the valiant would stand and be true, and always, always, true love would end with a happily ever after.
- Purple Words (E; 67k) by FangirlWolfie
“High five me.”
James immediately put Harry down and gave him a high five.
Huh?
Oh.
- In Grey Worsted (M; 2,8k) by literaryspell
Harry's only chance at happiness is slipping away, one piece at a time. He isn’t about to give up, though.
- Ever Fixed Mark (T; 1,1k) by @shealwaysreads
In which Harry decides to burn the world, and Draco watches on with adoration.
Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken
Shakespeare, Sonnet 116
- Dead Ends (E; 18,8k) by @toxik-angel & @melcarrianna
Head Auror Harry Potter is the best at his job. Head Auror Harry Potter always saves the day.
But someone has been picking off ex-Death Eaters one by one. Someone has been abducting Harry's friends right out of their homes. Someone is fucking the Minister for Magic.
The Minister for Magic and Head Auror are both very concerned about it.
- Because Potter Is Allergic to Poppies (M; 41,1k) by Lomonaaeren
Auror Harry Potter is in hospital being treated for a curse when someone tries to kill him. Obviously it is up to bored, trapped Apprentice Healer Draco, who was only admitted to the Healer Program in the first place to do the menial work, to find out who did it. Because then they will promote him. No, it’s for no other reason, thanks.
- Toujours pur (T; 21k) by Veralynn
"Malfoy would never confess truth to an enemy, and we’re enemies to him. That’s way I made a plan.”
“A rat,” Harry said.
“Exactly. Someone I can trust one hundred per cent about You-Know-Who. Someone who knows well Malfoy and his past. That makes you the perfect candidate.”
- REVOLVEVLOVER (E; 46,3k) by @firethesound & zeitgeistic
The work Harry does is justifiable. It’s justice. He works for his country, and his country is a republic—the magical side, anyway. It’s not laudable work, it’s not work he’s proud of, but it’s necessary work. Harry has always taken the necessary jobs that no one else has the stomach for.
It’s just that he’s never deciphered a kill sheet and seen Draco Malfoy’s name on it.
Career Choices: Harry: Hit Wizard; Draco: Anti-Government Extremist
- Who we are in the shadows (E; 99,7k) by @quicksilvermaid
What happens when you’re forced to become the very thing you despise?
Ex-Auror Harry Potter, tossed out of the Ministry for something he had no control over, has been looking for a way back to his former life. When he comes across Draco Malfoy in the criminal underbelly of Wizarding London and in need of protection, Harry figures bringing him in to face the Ministry's justice is his ticket back to everything he's lost.
But nothing is exactly as it seems. Not even Harry himself. And as he gets drawn further and further into Malfoy's world of honour and deception he finds himself questioning everything he thought he knew—about his childhood nemesis, the Ministry job he misses so much, and most of all, about himself.
What happens when you’re forced to see that you were wrong?
- Draco Malfoy and the Heart of Slytherin (T; 34,9k) by sabershadowkat
At the heart of every Slytherin.
- The Boy and the Sleeping Prince (E; 26,7k) by @phoenix-acid & @writcraft
Harry is miserable and tired of being an Auror, coasting through life until he’s forced to make some changes. Spurred on by his passion for drawing and working with best-selling author Draco Malfoy, Harry develops a charm which gives children a magical, interactive reading experience. But when it’s time to test the spell, the two men find themselves trapped in a nightmarish fairy tale world. Can they escape unscathed, or is Draco right in his assertions that there is no such thing as a happily ever after?
Career Choices: Harry: Illustrator; Draco: Writer
- When Death Comes Calling (T; 2,6k) by @mystickitten42
It’s All Hallows’ Eve and as Harry investigates a string of seemingly related deaths, there’s one he hopes to prevent.
He looks over Harry’s shoulder and Harry turns too. They both see it, the dark translucent figure making its way to shore.
~ Or ~
Getting together in the face of Death. Literally.
- Servile (E; 68,5k) by calrissian18
“I would love anything you gifted me, My Lord, but this,” silver eyes, the same shade as the dragon that marked Harry's arm, glinted in his direction under the Death Eater’s hood, “is exquisite.”
- The Corruption Sequence series (E; 94,2k) by beren
Harry Potter is captured by Voldemort and the Dark Lord has plans for him that involve the essence of many different dark creatures. What Voldemort cannot know is that the presence of Draco Malfoy will affect the outcome of his plots and change everything.
- More Powerful Then Experience (M; 89,7k) by flightinflame
Harry's life changes when he is three, when his parents are murdered and the Dark Lord takes him to raise as his own.
Draco's life changes when he is six, when he finds himself given to a strange green-eyed boy who speaks Parseltongue and casts impossible magic.
Remus's life changes three years later, when a chance meeting proves to him that somehow James and Lily's son is still alive.
- The Gryffindor Prince (G; 6,3k) by @mfingenius
“Do not come near us again, evil Slytherins!” he exclaims, pointing his wand towards them again. Pansy and Blaise look more amused than anything, really, but they hold up their hands in surrender.
“Alright,” Pansy says, agreeably enough, a smirk on her face. “But Potter, Draco’s a Slytherin, like us. He’ll have to come back eventually.”
Harry’s eyes narrow, and, a moment later, he is throwing Draco over his shoulder, arm tight across the back of his thighs so he won’t fall, and Draco yelps.
Have fun reading!

Hey, if you take requests, can you do series (bcz one-shot would be too short hehe), where reader is female and is really cocky, sassy and whatnot, basically giving off female Sirius Black vibes and she is very close with the golden trio, which makes them golden quartet. Anyway, I absolutely adore book Harry, because he is so SASSY!! So, could you make long imagine/series where book Harry and reader are both so sassy and stuff, but then Harry likes her and asks her out, but that is long time after, kinda semi-slow burn.
If you don’t like the idea or just don’t want to write it, it’s completely okay<3

Part 1:
“Shut up Malfoy.” an annoyed voice rang, interrupting Harry’s conversation with the pale sharp looking boy.
Harry looked to where the voice came from and saw you. Leaning heavily on the right arm of the armchair, one hand pulling at your hair, the other holding a book that you appeared to be reading. “Don’t listen to him, this git has been told his whole life that it's Slytherin or nothing. None of the house are bad or good, they’re just places to sleep and anyone who says otherwise has a stick up their-”
“Enough. I know your parents wouldn’t be very happy to hear either of you speaking like that. Keep it up and I’ll have no choice but to tell your mothers.” Madame Malkin cut you off before you could finish your rant.
“Yes ma’am.” the two tweens said politely, looking properly reprimanded despite the way you stuck your tongue out at the boy when the seamstress' back was turned. The woman finished her measurements and sent the boys to sit in the corner with you with instructions to “play nice”.
You decide to introduce yourself, shaking Harry’s hand with an air of self-importance that unlike Malfoy didn’t make Harry cringe. Harry watched as you interacted with the blonde boy, quick jabs were thrown at each other but they lacked the malice that Harry and Dudley had. A couple moments of ongoing debate later a haughty looking woman came over, “Draco, it’s time to leave.” She said your name kindly, “It was wonderful to see you, you must come by the Manor before school begins. Your mother is on her way, she said she won’t be long.”
You rolled your eyes as you let the woman kiss your forehead, “Thank you for everything, Mrs. Malfoy.”
The woman waved away your thanks and turned expectantly to her son, “It was lovely to see you.” Draco said politely. After ten minutes of watching your verbal sparring , Harry couldn’t help but smirk at how the boy behaved in his mothers presence.
“Bye Draco.”
The moment the pair left the shop Harry had to ask, “Why are you friends with him?” The two of you hadn’t agreed on a single thing, only conceding briefly, most of your arguments had ended in ‘believe what you want to believe, and stay out of my way’.
You flopped back in your seat stretching your arms upwards and yawning, “He’s not all that bad.” Harry gave a flat frown. “No seriously. He’s… we grew up together and we are distantly, distantly, related so it’s kind of an obligation. Also I’m not really allowed to talk to people, he’s one of like four kids our age I’m allowed to talk to. So better have an acquaintance I disagree with than nobody, you know.”
Harry actually didn’t know. He had never had the option, Dudley had always scared off anyone who remotely looked like they’d want to be his friend. His face must have shown his skepticism as you shrugged, “I don’t agree with him but pureblood circles are limited.”
Before Harry could even begin to ask what that meant, a stoic looking man and woman entered the shop calling your name, “Well that’s my cue. It was nice to meet you and I’ll see you around, yeah?” You pushed out of your seat and waltzed into their eye-line before he could answer.
The next time Harry saw you was right before the sorting, you stood beside Malfoy looking disappointed at the boy’s behavior as he taunted Harry and Ron. He could vaguely hear you reprimanding Malfoy as the first years walked into the Great Hall. He watched as you walked up to the hat, back straight, head high, fist clenched as McGonagall placed the hat on your head. There was a long pause as the Hall waited, growing curiouser and curiouser as the minutes passed. Harry heard students turn to each other and whisper “Five minutes.” and later “Nine minutes!” Eventually the Hat called, “GRYFFINDOR!” and the table broke out into applause.
You swiftly walked to the table, sitting beside Neville introducing yourself with a smile when the boy was visibly taken aback that you were speaking to him. “I was thinking this could be a fresh start for us, what happened on the outside is on the outside. What do you think?” you asked, looking hopeful.
Neville’s mouth opened slightly in shock but quickly shook your hand, “Sounds brilliant.”
The sorting continued and the newly sorted Gryffindors ate to their heart's content. You introduce yourself to almost the entire table, smiling freely and brightly. Talking about classes and teachers you were excited for and how you dreaded the winter, despite it only being September.
You only spared Harry a smile and a shoulder nudge as you walked up towards the stairs of the girl’s dorm.
—-
“What did you idiots say to Hermione?” you snapped, strutting up to the pair's Herbology table.
Harry and Ron shared a look.
You had quickly established yourself as young royalty at Hogwarts. Even those that didn’t like you, respected you. Ron said it was because you came from an old family, like the Malfoy’s and the Nott’s. Hence why none of the Slytherin’s messed with you, even though you were friends with most of their targets.
Harry thought it was more than that. It was hard to not like you. You had the majority of the staff charmed, and completed tasks with an easy smile. Always one of the first to achieve a charm or potion. Plus everyone admired your loyalty, it had only been a month and everyone already knew not to get caught messing with Neville, Hermione and Dean.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Dean and Seamus had been innocently horsing around in a corridor when Seamus had shoved Dean a little too hard and he had knocked into a burly boy.
“Watch where you’re going Mudblood-”
CRUNCH!
If it wasn’t for the fact that apparition was impossible at Hogwarts, the student’s in the corridor would have sworn that was how you appeared.
A strong punch right to the bridge of Marcus Flint’s nose had left the boy bloody. “Don’t ever talk like that again! If I ever hear you say that word again, I will personally make sure you never make it anywhere, Flint!” You grabbed Dean’s arm and pulled him away from the older boy before he could retaliate.
^^^^
The story spread like wildfire, the Hogwarts gossip mill adding its embellishments here and there. But the heart of the story changed the same, don’t fuck with your friends.
Hence why Ron looked ready to bolt at the sight of you, “I didn’t say anything.”
“Oh so it was you then huh? I already told you nicely to leave her alone, Weasley.” You said crossing your arms. “Tell me what you said and don’t lie.”
Ron appeared to find his courage saying, “I said she was a nightmare and that no one could stand her.” Your mouth contorted in shock and fury. “But! But, I mean it’s true isn’t it? I mean she’s only got you.”
You smacked the red-head upside the head, “That’s so rude, Ronald! I mean, really!”
“It’s true!”
“I don’t care if it’s true! That’s a terrible thing to say about someone! She’s already getting bullied by Snape and some of the purebloods, she doesn’t need to be bullied by you too. Go apologize to her now, and then leave her the hell alone.” You walked away, linking arms with Neville who had also fallen under your protection after you hexed Pansy Parkinson into a week stay in the hospital wing. (Well technically no one knows it was you, Snape couldn’t find any evidence no matter how hard he tried, but…let's be real it was you.)
Ron looked at Harry for reassurance, but he could only shake his head. Honestly he had been working up the nerve to say something similar for the past few hours. Hermione had been missing for the past couple classes and it didn’t sit well with Harry.
This feeling was only amplified when Quirrel fainted, bursting into the Hall yelling something about a troll in the dungeon. Harry saw you, head bobbing through the crowd of Gryffindors searching for Hermione. He could hear you yelling at Percy, that he didn’t  understand, that “Hermione is missing! We have to go find her!”
Percy grabbed you by your shoulders shaking you as the other prefect herded the Gryffindor students towards the dorms. “I’ll notify McGonagall immediately. But we “ he pointed to two of them “we can’t go looking for her.”
You made to sprint past him but Percy caught you by the arms, shoving you into a sixth year, ordering that they bring you to the common room.
Harry and Ron shared a quick glance before slipping away to find Hermione.
“I see that you’ve been developing some new friends.” Hermione heard your voice sing as you jumped onto her bed.
She couldn’t help but chuckle at your theatrics. You batted your eyes at her, silently asking for details.
Hermione quite liked you, you were the first person to have ever stood up for her. Her entire life she’d dealt with bullying but nobody had stood beside her through it, so she was pleasantly surprised at how you took her under her wing. The first week had been hell, purebloods of all houses jinxing and hexing her but you had noticed.
^^^^^^^
Hermione had been sitting alone at a Herbology table when you waved at her upon entering the room. You had set your stuff down briefly beside Malfoy (you were the only Gryffindor to routinely cross the unwritten house divide) “Why are you waving at her?” she heard Malfoy ask, sounding genuinely disgusted. “Do you even know who she is?”
“No but I’m not going to let her sit alone, that’s not nice.” you replied simply, picking up your things and moving beside Hermione.
^^^^^^^
From then on you and Hermione had been thick as thieves. Hermione had always thought she needed to find her perfect match, someone who was more introverted, more studious, more rule-following; then she’d finally make friends.
And yet she didn’t mind you. Hermione had had her fair share of cocky kids being placed next to her in class. Growing up she was frequently the victim of teachers unofficially assigning her a talkative kid in an attempt to shut them up.
But when you sat next to her, self-assured and cocky beyond measure, she didn’t hate it. She wasn’t annoyed. Perhaps it was because you could back it up, easily being one of the best students. Perhaps it was because you aren’t a bully. Perhaps it was because you didn’t get offended when she asked you to stop talking so she could focus, only smiled and said “Of course.” and actually shutting up.
…Yeah that was a big part of it.
Either way, you had grown on her. (If she was being honest she was a little jealous of your confidence, even if it could be a bit much.)
“You’re the one who told me I should branch out.”
After the troll incident Hermione, Harry and Ron had become close. No longer relying on you as her person, her go-to, had been natural. The boys had apologized and all had been forgiven. Hermione hadn’t even really realized how she had begun to drift from you. No longer meeting up in the library to study or walking to classes together.
“I did. And while I’m glad that you have, being honest here, I didn't think it was going to happen so soon. But I guess when you deal with a troll together, bonds grow.”
Hermione frowned at that. She didn’t want you to think she didn’t appreciate you. She liked the boys but you were her first friend, not only that but you were the first girl that didn’t make her feel inadequate. (At least not intentionally)
She turned from her spot at her desk to look at you staring up at her bed curtains, “We’re still friends. You know that right? I mean the boys are great but you were here first, so that gives you priority.”
“Even with the troll?” you asked, pouting slightly. Hermione could tell you wanted it to sound like a joke but it was doing a terrible job of hiding your concern.
“Even with the troll.”
You were quiet and Hermione almost went on to continue to reassure you but then you spoke, “Well I am way better than those two so I guess I have nothing to worry about. I mean honestly, if you ever pick them over me, I’m checking you into St. Mungo’s.”
Hermione was quick to smack you with the nearest pillow, smiling as she heard you giggle despite the harsh hits.
The year was looking good with you, Harry and Ron by her side.

Author's notes: sorry this took so long anon, I was racking my brain to find ways to insert this type of reader into the story in ways that would actually be interesting and not just rewrites of the story and I think I finally have a couple good ideas.
Lemme know what you think and yes there will be more parts as requested, I don’t know when they will come out but there will be more.
(Note: we will see more sassy harry and reader in later parts)

Year Five (Chapter Eight)
Mattheo Riddle X F!Reader
Warnings: Angsty,
Tumblr media
The summer felt long since you were concerned about Mattheo and no way of getting updates on him. You were finally back at the platform as students were slowly saying their goodbyes and getting on the train. You looked around for Mattheo or any of the boys for that matter. You found Draco first and went over to him, feeling small under his parents’ stares.
“Draco.”
“(Y/L/N).” He greeted formally, most likely because he was in front of his parents. He quickly introduced you to them and you gave a polite greeting back.
“Have you heard anything about Mattheo? I’ve been worried all summer.” You asked Draco.
His parents’ faces changed slightly like they knew something, but chose not to say anything.
“He’s fine. He should be here soon.” Draco answered.
You felt relieved to hear he was okay, but wanted to see and make sure for yourself. You stayed with Draco and his parents as you looked around for Mattheo. The other boys slowly gathered with you guys and chatted as you kept looking around. You finally spotted Mattheo across the platform and made your way over to him, squeezing between groups of students.
“Matty! Mattheo!” You called as you got closer.
He either didn’t hear you or didn’t care because he didn’t even turn towards you.
“Matty!” You finally made it to him and wrapped your arms around him. “You worried me over the summer.”
He tensed under your touch. “I’m fine.” He said simply before pushing you back gently, looking at you. He seemed tired and stressed.
“You just disappeared. I was so worried-”
“I’m fine. Okay? You don’t need to be concerned about me.” His voice was so cold, it reminded you of when you first met him. Before he started slowly softening around you.
“Okay. I’m just glad you’re okay.” You nodded.
He looked over towards his friends and their parents. “I still meant what I said last time. You should stay away from me. For your own good.” He said before leaving you again to make his way over to the group of boys.
“Wait, Matty!” You grabbed his arm to stop him.
“And don’t call me that.” He looked back at you, his eyes full of anger as he tugged his arm from you and left you standing there again. Just like in the corridor only a few months ago.
You boarded the train and found your friends. It was the first year you didn’t ride with the boys and it felt odd.
You made it to the castle and stuck with your friends, sitting at your house table. Umbridge was introduced and you could instantly tell this wasn’t going to go well.
You had your first day of classes the next day and found yourself in Herbology with Mattheo, assigned to sit right next to him. It was the first time in years that you sat in silence with him like that. A silence that wasn’t comfortable. The whole class was you two avoiding looking at each other, but by the end of class, you just couldn’t take it anymore. You caught up as he was leaving the classroom and grabbed his sleeve to stop him. He turned around and looked at you, a sigh of frustration escaping his lips when he realized it was you.
You cleared your throat and shifted. “I know what you said at the station yesterday, but-”
“(Y/N). Please.” Mattheo tried stopping you, pulling his sleeve from your hand.
“No. Just let me say something. I know you want me to stay away, but I don’t want to. It’s not fair for you to say what’s good for me or not. I can make my own choices.” You said, looking over at him with a frown now.
He looked between your eyes before sighing. “It won’t go well if you keep sticking with me. I’m not good or safe for you. For anyone.”
“I don’t care. You’re my friend, Mattheo.”
“Well, I do care. I don’t want you getting hurt because of me.” He started walking away from you.
“Mattheo! Can you stop for a second?” You followed behind him. The rest of the students have left by now, leaving you two alone outside between the castle and greenhouse.
“You’re being stupid.” He said, shaking his head as he kept walking.
“I am not! I’m being your friend!”
“Well, don’t.”
“Can you stop walking? I can hardly keep up!” You groaned in frustration.
“I don’t want you following me anyways.”
“Mattheo Thomas Riddle! Stop walking away from me!”
He finally stopped and you almost collided into him. He dropped his head forward and sighed, taking a deep breath in.
“I have been worrying about you all summer. All summer long. Not one word from you or your friends saying you were okay. You left me in that castle after you stormed off when I was just trying to talk to you. You always do that to me! You always run away and tell me to leave you alone when you’re upset, but I just want to be there for you. And you’re pushing me away now saying we can’t even be friends. Talk to me. What is happening?” You say, anger in every word as you finally snap.
Mattheo didn’t respond for a moment, but you gave him time to compose himself, standing behind him as you watched him breathe in and out like he was calming himself.
“He’s right. Harry is right. Voldemort is back. My father is back. And he…” Mattheo shook his head. “Look, I don’t want you getting hurt. My father is not kind and you don’t deserve whatever he would do to you. So just, please, stay away.” His tone sounded like he really didn’t want you to leave him, but he had no choice.
“So you just don’t want me around because you think it’ll keep me safe from your father?” You asked, a lot calmer than before.
“You don’t need to get involved. In fact, I don’t want you involved at all. So stay away from me and my friends and you’ll be safe.”
“I don’t get a say?”
“Don’t make this harder on either of us.”
“No, turn around, look at me!” He finally turned back around to look at you and you could see the hurt in his eyes. “You don’t get to tell me what to do and who to talk to. I don’t care if it’s not safe. You’re my friend, Mattheo. You’re being so stupid right now.”
“I’m not-”
“You are!”
“I’m not doing this right now.” He turned back around and started walking away again.
“We’re not done with this conversation!” You called after him.
“Yes, we are!”
“No, we’re not!” You shouted back, arms crossed as you watched him walk away. You sighed and leaned your head back to look at the sky.
What do I do?

As you approach Malfoy Manor you find it increasingly difficult to catch your breath.
You were foolish to assume you wouldn't eventually get caught.
You fleetingly consider grabbing Hermione and disapparating, but Greyback's firm grip on your arm prevents you from even attempting to reach for her.
The gates of the manor come into view, and you try to pry your arm away again. A last ditch effort, but it is no use.
The man forcefully holds you in place and you have no choice but to stand in front of the gate.
You make eye contact with Bellatrix as she approaches from the other side, her gaze then shifts to a disfigured Harry to your left, before landing her attention back to you.
A maniacal smile flashes across her face, as if she found the display before her truly amusing, and you have to fight the urge to cower.
"Get Draco."
════════════════════════════════════════════
You stood in the foyer in front of your parents. An involuntary thrill travels down your spine as you study their expressions. You cannot recall the last time you have seen either of them this furious.
"So this is what you have been doing all this time?" Your mother exclaims, gesturing to Hermione and you have to avert your eyes.
Your silence only further infuriates your parents.
You cannot help but feel a sense of embarrassment, being apprehended like a child in front of the other Death Eaters, Harry, Ron, and worst of all, Hermione.
"Have you absolutely no regard for your mother or I?" Your father finally speaks, his voice vibrating with anger.
"We have given you everything. Do you have any idea what we had to sacrifice just to raise you? Your mother and I have provided you nothing but the best." Your father raises his voice, it is sudden enough that it causes you to wince.
"This is how you repay us?" He continues.
"Do you have any idea the shame you have brought upon my name? Upon our entire family?" Your father steps closer but you keep your gaze fixed to the ground.
"I'm sorry." All you could afford to utter.
You hate how you feel in this moment, powerless and meek, only wishing for the ground to swallow you whole, so you never have to face any of the people in this room ever again.
You can feel Hermione's worried stare, but you cannot bear to look at her.
"We have warned you time and time again to end your relations with her." Your mother hisses, gesturing to your girlfriend.
You finally lift your head but your mother harshly grabs your forearm to pull you aside.
"Don't you dare look at her, y/n." She scolds, pure vitriol.
"You must think us fools. Is this all just a game to you?" Your mother taunts but you choose to remain silent.
An effort to de-escalate but it results in the opposite effect as you catch your mother fishing her wand out of her pocket.
"We have given you more than enough chances. More than you deserve." She states, pushing past you, storming directly towards Hermione.
A flicker of fear appears on your girlfriend's face. One you mirror, just as you realize what your mother intended to do.
Hermione tries to retreat, only to bump into Scabior, purposely standing behind her to cease her attempt at fleeing.
"It is time you suffer the consequences of your own actions." Your mother takes a fleeting glance at you before lifting her wand to point it at your girlfriend.
Taking large strides, you manage to put yourself in between Hermione and your mother, just before she gets the chance to utter the spell. You feel your girlfriend's firm grip on your arm as you continued to shield her with your body.
"No! Mother, please, don't." You plead, holding up your hand and she hesitates.
"I am sorry I have disappointed you. I am sorry I went against your wishes."
"But I will not– I cannot apologize for loving her." You hesitate as your voice trembles, but you speak the words anyway.
You hear a cackle from Bellatrix, grumbles and groans of disapproval coming from the Death Eaters gathered in the corner, and once again, you feel more exposed and deplorable than ever.
Your mother remains staring at you, this time with nothing but disdain.
"Love?" She scowls, almost like it disgusted her just to utter the word.
"In love with a mudblood?" Your mother's tone shifts, now incredulous and despondent.
She finally lowers her wand, only to strike you across the face with her other hand.
You hear a gasp from Hermione, but otherwise the room is silent, as you clutch your cheek in pain.
When you finally muster the courage to look at your mother her expression betrays no trace of regret.
"You are no child of mine." She utters, exasperated, and your heart shatters into a thousand pieces.
Tearing your eyes away they naturally fall on your father, standing a few paces behind.
You recognise a tenderness somewhere in his eyes, one you hadn't ever been awarded before. It's jarring and unfamiliar, it makes you want to weep.
"Step aside, y/n" Your mother says, lifting her wand again.
Perhaps it was pity, perhaps now your father was just as embarrassed as you are, or maybe, it is love that compels him to step forward, placing a gentle hand on your mother's shoulder.
"Darling, this is hardly the time or place." He attempts, but your mother doesn't move.
However, footsteps soon approach that causes all of you to shift your attention.
Draco can be seen entering the foyer with both of his parents, interrupting your altercation.
Your best friend pauses at the sight of you, evident concern etched across his face.
"Ah, Draco." Bellatrix acknowledges him and he's forced to look away from you.
The witch walks up to Harry, harshly gripping a handful of his hair to pull his head back, giving Draco a clear view of his face.
"Is it him?" Bellatrix asks expectantly, and the platinum haired boy couches in front of Harry.
"I can't be sure." Draco responds, dismissively.
His father then grips the back of his neck, harshly, and you observed as your best friend flinched under his touch.
You instinctively take a glance at your own parents.
Your mother has since resumed her position next to your father, both of them deliberately avoiding your gaze, once again your chest constricts painfully.
Scabior is standing so close behind you and Hermione, too close, you can both feel his breath against the back of your necks.
"Look closely son." Lucius says.
"If we are the ones to deliver Potter to the Dark Lord, all will be forgiven." He adds, his voice low but it echoes through the large hall anyway.
"Now we won't be forgetting who actually caught him. I hope." Scabior states, finally stepping away from you.
"Mr Malfoy." He continues to antagonize, and it works to set the other man off.
"You dare talk to me like that in my own house?" Lucius raises his voice and Draco flinches again.
"Lucius." Narcissa finally steps forward, extending her arm to calm her husband.
Hermione remained clutching your arm, her grip only tightened the longer you stood watching the commotion before you.
Finally, none of the Death Eaters are in close proximity, so you decide it an opportunity to try and escape.
"We need to apparate." You manage to whisper to Hermione, reaching down to intertwine your fingers but your girlfriend shakes her head.
"We can't leave Harry." She responds and you sigh, defeated.
An answer you expected but it causes your anxiety to heighten anyway. You begin looking for another solution, another way to flee.
"Now, if this isn't who we think it is and we call on him, he will kill us all. We need to be absolutely sure." Bellatrix warns.
"What's wrong with his face?" Draco finally asks with a scowl.
"Yes, what is wrong with his face?" The dark haired witch repeats.
Scabior shrugs.
"He came to us like that." He states simply.
"Something he picked up in the forest I reckon." Another snatcher chimes in.
"Ran into a stinging jinx.." Bellatrix quips.
"Was it you, dear?" She asks, pointing directly at Hermione.
You feel your heart stop as your girlfriend tenses next to you.
"Give me her wand, let's see what her last spell was." The witch orders, and the evident worry that flashes on both of your faces easily gives you away.
"Ah, I caught you." Bellatrix says pointing at the two of you, amidst a cackle.
"It appears your girlfriend is not as smart as she thinks she is." She taunts, looking directly at you, successfully earning a grimace.
You contemplate lunging at the other woman, but before you can act, she halts.
She catches sight of the sword of Gryffindor proudly propped up, next to one of the snatcher's.
"Where did you get that from?" Bellatrix gasps.
"It was in her bag when we searched her, I reckon it's mine now." The snatcher responds with a grin.
Before any of you can comprehend it, Bellatrix sends the man flying into the wall with a single throw of a spell. She then points her wand at the other snatcher in the corner, taking him out too.
"Are you mad?" Scabior exclaims, but the wand pointed at his face in an instant, silences him immediately.
"Get out! Get out!" Bellatrix repeatedly shouts, and the band of snatchers scurry out of the hall, all fearing for their lives.
"Put the rest of them in the cellar." She exclaims, lifting Harry by the collar before grabbing Ron as well.
She shoves them hard enough that they fall by Wormtail's feet.
"I want to have a little conversation with this one." Bellatrix states.
You feel Hermione get ripped from your side, and instinct kicks in.
"No, get your hands off her!" You exclaim, reaching out to grab her but Bellatrix swings her arm, you feel a harsh blow to the stomach that knocks the wind out of you, making you land on the ground as a result.
"Bella!" Her sister scolds, rushing to your side.
"Stop fighting, you will get yourself killed." Narcissa warns, you feel her firm hand on your shoulder as she forces you to stand next to her.
Before you can respond you feel another harsh grip on your collar attempting to drag you to the cellar with the boys.
"No, not her– I want her to watch this." Bellatrix states, gesturing for Wormtail to let you go, and he does.
All you can focus on is the way Bellatrix is handling Hermione, the sadistic smile as she does so, rough and thoughtless.
Your girlfriend looks terrified, and you feel utterly powerless.
She soon retrieves a dagger from her side, holding it up in front of Hermione's face.
"I will give you one chance to answer my question, before I start cutting." Bellatrix says.
Your head is now pounding, your abdomen still aches from the blow, your face stinging where your mother struck you.
Hermione attempts to make an escape but with one swift flick of Bellatrix's hand, she bounds your girlfriend's legs, causing her to fall onto the ground.
You watched as the witch got on top of her, pinning her down by her shoulders.
She then forcefully cuts through Hermione's sleeve with her blade, until enough of her arm was exposed.
"That sword was meant to be in my vault in Gringotts, how did you get it?" She asks, her face an inch away from Hermione's.
Your girlfriend is silent, beyond the whimper that falls out of her lips.
This seems to only urge Bellatrix to bring the tip of the dagger to Hermione's arm. The older witch begins dragging the blade down the exposed skin.
Hermione's sobs quickly morph into deafening screams and you don't feel anything beyond panic.
"It was me! I stole the sword, not her!" You raise your voice, hoping that it would be enough to take the attention of your girlfriend.
"Quiet! I am not asking you." Bellatrix retaliates, merely brushing you off like some pest.
Your eyes followed as she hovered the blade over Hermione's arm again. You see her blood trickling from her wound onto the wood underneath, and you feel sick.
"Please, I didn't take anything." Hermione pleads helplessly, and your chest aches so much you can barely breathe.
"I don't believe you." Bellatrix begins cutting again, this time she's laughing.
Deriving true pleasure from torturing Hermione, and you couldn't stand by and witness it any longer, you had to act.
Amidst your girlfriend's screams you manage to slip past Narcissa, stepping next to her son.
"Draco, give me my wand." You state firmly, as his hesitant stare meets your pleading one, he hands you your wand after a beat.
"Stop lying!" Bellatrix exclaims, you see her lower the blade down to Hermione's arm again and you don't allow yourself to think a moment longer.
You point your wand at the dark haired witch.
"Avada Kedavra!" You exclaimed, survival and wrath, your only goal was to save Hermione.
The bright green light shoots out from the tip of your wand, in an instant, the witch drops onto the ground with a large thud, motionless.
"Y/n, what did you just do–" You hear your mother exclaim but you don't acknowledge her, you refuse to.
Her shock, along with everyone else's; hangs in the air, mute but suffocating.
Hermione is the first to come out of it, she sits up and you rush to her side.
With your arms around her you shut your eyes not half a second passes before you both disapparate, leaving your family behind.
-
You find yourself at the outskirts of Tinworth by Shell Cottage. The location you all agreed to meet at if anything went wrong.
It was meant as a precaution, you never actually thought things could ever go this wrong.
Disowned by your parents.
Murdered another in cold blood.
Your girlfriend tortured and maimed.
"Hermione, it's alright, you're safe now." You state, carefully placing your hands on either side of the other girl's face.
Your girlfriend doesn't meet your gaze, scattered, her mind entirely elsewhere.
"Y/n, we have to go back, we have to help the boys–" She says, you stop her with a firm hand on her forearm before she can stand.
"No, Hermione! It's too dangerous. If we go back they will kill you." You say with a raised voice, unintentional, driven by your heightened emotions, but it works to get the other woman's attention.
"I can't– I can't lose you." Your voice shakes and Hermione finally looks at you.
An expression flashes across her face that tightens the knot in your stomach.
She lets herself breathe and think, she realizes what you had done just moments prior, the significance, its implications.
"You killed her." Hermione states, more awe than contempt but you scramble to defend yourself anyway.
Truth be told you don't know why you had reacted the way you did, you weren't even aware that you had it in you to begin with.
"I had to– sweetheart, she would have continued to hurt you if I didn't stop her." You stutter, but Hermione quickly silences you.
Her lips crash into yours, fervent, anguished, and eager. Your girlfriend's hand rests on the back of your neck, pulling even closer.
Hermione's clinging onto you; with no desire to let go of her lifeline, her love, the only reason she is still here, safe and alive.
You are forced to pull away as your lungs burn from the lack of air.
"I will go back for them myself, promise me you'll wait for me here." You breathe out against Hermione's lips, your forehead resting against hers.
Before your girlfriend can even begin protesting you see Harry apparate in the distance. Closely followed by Ron and Luna.
The ginger haired boy is first to run to Hermione's side.
"Hermione, y/n. Are you alright?" Harry shouts, your girlfriend nods but you don't respond. Your eyes remain on the elf behind him.
You catch sight of Dobby, limping as he clutches his stomach.
"Harry Potter." The elf calls out, weak and frail.
Harry finally follows your gaze.
"Dobby." He says, sprinting to Dobby's side, and the elf collapses right into his arms.
You watched as a distressed Harry pulled something that seemed to have impaled the elf, he finally sets it on the sand next to him and your own stomach turns.
You immediately recognize the bloodied dagger.
How can a single object cause so much damage?
You feel your anger resurfacing, you regret not discarding the blade when you had the chance.
"Just hold on, okay?" Harry says as he tries to stop the bleeding, placing his hand over the wound.
"We'll fix you. Hermione will have something." He reassures before turning his attention towards her.
"In your bag– Hermione?" Harry pleads and your girlfriend merely clutches you tighter.
"Hermione." He repeats, desperate.
"Help me!" The man shouts, you hear your girlfriend let out a sob.
A barely audible "I'm sorry." before Hermione turns to embrace you, burying her face into the crook of your neck.
An attempt to protect herself from the inevitable anguish; witnessing someone entirely undeserving of death, go out so painfully, abruptly.
"Such a beautiful place– to be with friends. Dobby is happy to be with his friend, Harry Potter." The elf mutters, and you are unable to stare any longer.
You make accidental eye contact with Ron, but for once there is a shared regard between the two of you. Grief, sadness, gratitude, acceptance.
The sheer helplessness Harry feels is shared amongst all of you as you watch the elf take his last breath in his arms.
You observed as Luna walked up to him, graciously shutting Dobby's eyes with her fingers.
Hermione remains in your arms, and you hold her close, having no intention of letting go.
"I want to bury him– properly. Without magic." Harry says, fighting back his sobs.
════════════════════════════════════════════
You are jolted awake once again out of a distressing dream. This time your girlfriend is not in bed next to you, you sit up abruptly in a panic.
"Hermione?" You call out, and the voice that responds almost immediately, swiftly eases your nerves.
"I'm here." Your girlfriend says, emerging through the doorway.
"I had to use the loo." She then explains, climbing back into bed.
With the feeling of Hermione's head against your chest you can breathe again.
You spent most of the night lying awake, and when you did manage to find sleep you were merely tormented by nightmares.
The encounter in Malfoy Manor could've gone much differently, in fact it could've ended horribly. You were so close to losing everything that mattered to you. You could only vow that you will never allow yourself to get that close again.
Any relief you felt this morning derived from knowing your girlfriend at least managed to find some sleep herself. Clearly the events of yesterday took a toll on her, but she is resilient, as always, and you adore her for it.
"I'm sorry you had to leave your parents." Hermione says after a long silence.
"Don't be. Nothing good has ever come from me being around them." You state truthfully, threading your fingers through her hair, absentmindedly.
"You saw how they were." You add.
"I know, still, I'm sorry." Hermione repeats it anyway, lifting her head to place several kisses against your cheek, the same spot your mother had struck.
You then reach down, gently grazing her bandaged arm, soon lifting it up to place a tender kiss against it.
The look Hermione gives you in return makes your heart stop and beat faster in your chest all the same.
"You know, I fight so hard because of you." You admit, extending your arm to cup her jaw.
"I never had a reason before you." You add, your thumb stroking her cheek.
You watched as your girlfriend's eyes welled with tears, overwhelmed and consumed by adoration.
Hermione finally leans in, capturing your lips with her own. The kiss snatches the air right out of your lungs, but you don't care. You'd never wish for it to end.
She finally pulls away only slightly before resting her forehead against yours.
"I love you, y/n. So much, more than you'll ever truly know." Hermione says, and the pleasant fluttering that travels throughout your entire body translates to an easy smile on your lips.

Mistakes
Draco Malfoy x Fem!Reader
Warnings: Angst, Fighting,Break Up, minor Fluff,
*Implied Gryffindor!Reader but barley*
Draco Malfoy was anything but a good person. He’d pick fights for no reason, he’d hex people he didn’t like, he’d bully younger students, anything to ignore what was happening around him. He didn’t see a reason to stop until he met you. Draco had absolutely no idea how he missed you for so long, you were there, right behind the Golden Trio the whole time. From the second he heard your voice it was like the curtains of a dingy old manor were thrown open to engulf him in summer warmth.
You were scolding him for how he spoke to Harry and all he could hear was the way his name fell from your lips. Those eyes looking up to him like he was the worst person imaginable was the only thing that could spark a change in the Slytherin Prince. And to your surprise, he actually was changing. He’d learned to ignore things he didn’t like instead of taking control of them as his focus veered toward winning your heart. Eventually the castle slowly became accustomed to peaceful walks in the corridors instead of pranks and hazing as Draco began to realize life wasn’t just about him, everyone was going through something. Including you, which was all he cared about now.
Even though there were times when he’d pick a fight or cast a spell at someone, you always understood that he was trying, that he made mistakes. And he absolutely couldn’t believe it when you finally said yes to his advances, in his eyes, everything he did was a mistake until you said yes to that Hogsmeade date.
But today he had a reason and a good one at that. He’d overheard a Slytherin 4th year talking about your body and what he’d do to you, whether you wanted him to or not. So he of course took it upon himself to teach the twat a lesson, at first he was just gonna scare him with a few choice words but when the boy didn’t back down on his threats, instead doubling down with his obscene comments, Draco decided his fists could do the talking. You however, only saw the tail end as you left for the great hall. Seeing your 7th year boyfriend, who was practically an adult, manhandle and abuse someone who was basically a child, made you sick to your stomach.
You of course didn’t know his reasoning and as you yelled in his face for everyone to hear that you were done cleaning up after him, Draco Malfoy’s heart of stone, shattered into pieces. His whole life for the past year was built on the promise of you being there, and he was going to do anything in his power to get that back.
Saturday morning you woke up to your favorite flowers on your nightstand, “Please let me explain,” written in loopy letters on a paper crane beside them. You threw off your blanket, slipped on your slippers and grabbed them both, the sun had barley risen and the castle was eerily silent as your slippers scraped along the path to the Slytherin common room. As you stared up at your boyfrie- ex boyfriend’s door, you contemplated just crashing in to kiss him, hug him, just talk to him, but that feeling in your stomach from yesterday never left. You let the flowers and note fall to your feet at his door, quickly rushing back to your dorm to cry before he could see you out here.
The next morning was harder to resist, the alluring smell of your favorite sweets filling your nostrils as you woke. Groggily you wiped at your eyes, grabbing at the origami with loopy writing again, “I promise I wasn’t being a git.” was scratched across it this time, making the images of his fight flash in your brain. The thought of him beating on random kids without your knowledge gnawed at you. You’d only ever seen him fight 6th and 7th years, some of them were entirely deserving of it but most of them just happened to exist on one of his bad days. Your brain was trying to understand why, but nothing you came up with warranted beating up a 14 year old boy. So again you made your way to his dorm, determined to stop this.
Your knuckles raked at the wood of his door, shoving your way through as soon as it cracked open. “Okay Draco, I know why you’re breaking in to leave me presents but it needs”your sentence caught in your throat as you took in his dirtied room. He was always so clean, never a sweater on his floor, but now pieces of paper, ink and clothes scattered his floor like pixies came through it.
“I’m sorry, I haven’t had a chance to clean up, I’ve been focused on your gifts,” He sighed, he had bags under his eyes like he hadn’t been sleeping, his hair was disheveled and his school clothes were still on. You eyed him as he watched you, the room going so quiet that the silence became a sound of it’s own as you both waited for the other.
“I need to explain,” Draco suddenly spoke, ushering you to his unmade bed, “I promise you I wasn’t just being a bully I-“
“Draco I didn’t come here for an excuse I came here to en-“ You tired to finish your sentence but couldn’t form the words, watching as his eyes left yours to swivel around his room, a telltale sign he was trying not to cry.
“Please, it’s not an excuse. I need to tell you my reasoning and then you can decide to leave me if that’s still what you want. I just- I’m not gonna sit back and watch you leave, we’re the only thing I’ve done correctly and I’m gonna fight for you okay?” Draco knew he was a disappointment, he knew he failed his father, his aunt, his friends, but every time he looked back on his dark days, all he saw was you by his side through it all, you helping him come to the right side, you teaching him to control his anger, you.
“He was talking about you,” He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose as he spoke, “your legs, your waist, what he wanted to do with them.” His throat bobbed as he looked to you, you felt worse than before, bile rising up your throat as Draco continued, “I told him to stop talking, he didn’t, so I warned him, said that if I heard your name from his mouth again I’d beat his ass. He said he could say what he wanted because you’re an adult and he’s a child so he kept on with his friends and I think you know the rest.”
The room was tense with silence, your stomach turned in anxiety, you didn’t know boys that young thought that way, you assumed he was the victim. You felt stupid and naive for wanting to protect a boy who would gladly hurt you if given the chance. You threw yourself into Draco’s arms as tears grew on your lashes.
