The wizards said the orangutan would be able to lead them back to the dungeon in a couple days.
What a sentence, Chilchuck thought. It seemed to him that he’d been saying a lot of things with full sincerity that weeks ago would’ve been total gibbering nonsense.
The others had wandered off into the city like tourists. Laios was spending the day in some kind of pet shelter for dragons. Senshi had mentioned bringing Izutsumi to check out the local dwarven cooking. Rats were apparently involved, to his total lack of surprise.
He had decided to hole up in the nearest bar that would accept a fistful of foreign coins. He was at the stage of buzz that felt as though someone was wrapping a woollen blanket around his head, and it was loosening his tongue.
“And he’s a good kid,” he was saying. “He’s a good kid, he’s even a good fighter, but he’s got all the social skills of a dead donkey. This is a guy who hears that he has to eat part of his sister, and the first thing he says is-”
THE EGG IS PLACED ON TOP OF THE BACON?
He paused mid-ramble and blinked stickily at the stranger seated next to him. “Sorry?”
WHAT STRUCTURAL SUPPORT DOES THE BACON OFFER THE EGG?
He blinked again. “It’s for,” he tried. “You know. So you can eat the egg and bacon at the same time.”
INSTEAD OF CONSUMING THE ELEMENTS OF THE BREAKFAST SEPARATELY.
“Right.”
BUT IN THIS EXERCISE, YOU WISH TO REMOVE THE EGG FROM THE BACON.
“Right — right! The idea is if we take away the half of Falin that’s a dragon, we can resurrect the human half of her.”
THUS UNFRYING THE EGG.
He screwed an eye shut and tried to make out the face of the stranger through the three images swirling in the hot, lightheaded haze. It looked like a very skinny face.
“I’m starting to lose the food metaphor,” he mumbled. “My point is, the further we go to fix this problem, the worse it gets. And it’s not that i have a problem with resurrection — have you ever been resurrected?”
NO, BUT I HAVE BEEN WITNESS TO PART OF IT.
“Some people are weird about it. Senshi’s weird about it too, but he’s the one who suggested it. Anyways, it’s not that I have a problem with resurrection, I just don’t like the idea of eating an old coworker.”
Another sentence that would have been nonsense barely a week ago. He tried to shrug and missed. “I guess they say, ‘Eat to live, don’t live to eat.’”
A STRANGE THING TO SAY. A PARADOX OF SOME KIND, I’M SURE.
He was beginning to feel a slight headache. “No, it means, like — treat food as a fuel, a necessity, don’t get fussy about the experience of eating it.”
THEY ARE NOT MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE. The stranger plucked a paper umbrella out of their drink. They twirled it thoughtfully between very skinny fingers. I WOULD RECOMMEND A CURRY, they said. I’VE ALWAYS BEEN FOND OF A CURRY.

something i think is really interesting about dungeon meshi is the cast's respective views on food as the story progresses. the way many adventurers get through the dungeon is to eat when they Must, but mostly rely on healing magic to keep going when they're tired or beaten down. death is something you can buy your way out of, here.
having these lower stakes when it comes to running yourself too hard has made a lot of people in this setting kind of devalue food and what it does for you.
im not all the way through the manga yet, but so far i really like how it goes about debunking that mindset.
long post under the cut, cw explicit discussion of disordered eating. textual depiction of unhealthy methods of dealing with it. please be cautious!
it seems like to most folks, food is either a decadent luxury, like when the governor offers mr tance a feast as a show of power and wealth, (although he is the only one who actually eats in that scene as he talks about his ambitions);
[id: the governor and mr. tance talk politics and hierarchies, while the governor eats from a bowl. mr. tance's meal is not visible behind a speech bubble.
"so you believe the sorceror is an elf?" he asks.
"i can't say with absolute certainty," mr. tance replies, "but the spells are not ones dwarves and humans typically use." /end id]
like the painted-royal feasts laios tries to partake in that never actually nourish him...
[id: laios, fresh out of the living painting feast, surprisedly holding his grumbling stomach /end id]
or, to the working class, it's pretty much exclusively fuel. i'm thinking about the scene where kabru's party, ostensibly intended to be our view into how adventuring Typically goes for most people, is shown preparing to go to the dungeon by like. walking up to someone and ordering 'a weeks' worth of rations.' purely functional.
[id: kabru enters a store, and the merchant says "welcome!"
kabru says "i need a week's worth of rations for six, and two days' worth of water."
"sure thing." the merchant then reaches behind him and grabs a large cube-shaped package, wrapped in nondescript cloth and tied in place. it thumps onto the counter in front of them both. /end id]
when kabru hands mickbell his food for the trip, he complains about how heavy it is on his back. it's a necessary liability.
we also see chilchuck, in an early chapter where there isn't much food to go around, grumbling about how he used to be better at not noticing when he was hungry. he's frustrated that he's more attuned to his bodily needs, now that he's starting to fill them with regularity.
[id: chilchuck, the only one awake, sits in his bedroll and glares at the timekeeping-candle burning down in front of him while he listens to his stomach growl. moving to find his canteen and fill himself with water instead, he thinks to himself, "my stomach has gotten weaker. i used to be able to go two days without food." /end id]
(like im not even gonna lie this is a big mood. the healing process is really really annoying)
even laios, early on, working out the logistics of going back for falin, considers his expenses and ultimately the thing he decides to save money on is their food supply. like, even the guy most invested in eating as an experience kind of just assumes he will Figure It Out. its what hes eating, not how hes eating it that matters to him at that point.
[id: marcille looks down at the ingredients they've gathered, the walking mushroom and the scorpion in an unappetizing heap on the ground, and asks laios "so how exactly do we eat them?"
he responds "let's just cook them, like normal." /end id]
but its here that senshi introduces the idea of food as art and as healing. its exciting and its fascinating for laios, getting to taste the creatures hes been reading about and fighting, but i dont think it would ever really help him feel full if not for this.
[id: three panels of laios tasting the scorpion hotpot, looking stunned, and then excitedly telling senshi "delicious!"
senshi matches his energy, asking "isn't it? isn't it?" /end id]
pictured: guy who had resigned himself to kind of just doing his best rediscovers the joy in something tasting really fucking good
what they did last time isnt going to work. falin is gone, and constantly anesthetizing their pain and healing through their weakness is no longer a realistic option for the party. in order to make it through they must all relearn how to eat well, one by one and as a group over and over again, because its either that or nothing.
one of my favorite depictions of this idea thus far is when marcille is seriously low on health and mana, and both of these problems are mitigated by taking care of herself, and trying to get iron and protein
[id: marcille, looking sickly, wakes to laios saying, "marcille, marcille, can you sit up? we've got something nice for you."
she watches senshi grill pieces of kelpie liver on a low fire, while laios ties a bib around her neck. /end id]
and drinking a bunch of dead water spirits. she gets the idea, she's supposed to get in nutrients and it'll help her feel better, but in aiming for the quick, inefficient fix, namely chugging that shit down like she heard it was good to Stay Hydrated and decided that would be the thing that fixes her,
[id: marcille throws back a cup of boiled undine-water, her face red. laios asks, "do you really need to drink it that fast?"
she gasps out "...the magical energy stored in nature spirits is actually quite hard to absorb. even if you drink a lot, the majority of it is excreted without being absorbed," and takes another drink. "that's why i need to drink as much as i can."
laios says weakly "you'll get water poisoning," but marcille only stops when senshi puts a hand on her shoulder and says,
"it's easier to absorb nutrients if ye digest them with food. that's a fundamental rule of nutrition."
marcille says, "senshi..." contemplative
and he holds out a bowl of tentuclus and a thumbs up. "let's get cooking!" /end id]
she doesn't immediately realize the answer is that she needs more than that. she's been working hard. she needs care, and she needs nourishment.
once she gets that, though, she makes her boiled water into a stew, and she works to make that stew as good as she can, and everyone can have some.
because in dungeon meshi, to feed yourself or allow yourself to be fed is treated as performing a kindness for yourself. food is what propels you, but there is also an art and a joy inherent to the process of making it; in the way you feel when you've had enough to eat.
[id: senshi watches as chilchuck and marcille eat and excitedly hash out plans.
"i've got a good feeling about this! maybe it'll work out!" chilchuck says
marcille responds, "well it's easier to feel optimistic on a full stomach!"
senshi smiles, proud. /end id]
^^^ i want to put this image on my wall
when you're working through disordered eating habits, you really do have to keep learning this shit. (in my experience, learning about cooking is one of the best ways to do so.)
i'll have to see if my thesis holds up as i continue, but i think one of the reasons the portrayal here resonates with me so hard is that ryoko kui puts most of her characters at eye level with me on this. they're all working at it, too. the text and i are both commiserating, and encouraging each other, 'have some more, you'll feel better.'
#its late -_- idk if this fullly gets across what i mean but ive been thinking about this for weeks#dungeon meshi#recovery#cooking tag#disordered eating cw#im on chp 31 atm but im like. squinting and steepling my fingers looking for this theme as i go now#meta

okay, general list of different spellings I’ve seen in the dunmeshi fan translations
laios- has never been spelled differently in my experience. that’s bc ライオス is very easy to transliterate lol. (raiosu)
falin- farlin/farlyn were the most common! falin was actually a pretty unpopular/scrapped translation from my memory lol. i think her name is just ファリン (falin) though so. yeah it is the most literal one. i still like farlyn a little more though heehee.
now! their last name- now localized as “touden” was spelled “thorden” in the translation i read.
senshi- always been senshi. this is actually important for a small bit where Falin thinks his name is 戦士 (warrior), lol
marcille- surprisingly, she also had a few different spellings. it was really early in the fan translation so you don’t see a lot of people calling her anything other than marcille. it was like… marshille/marsille/marsil so not too different.
chilchuck- chilchack. i specifically remember a t/n saying they decided to go with chilchack over chilchuck LOL.
Thistle- Sissel. Thissel.
Shuro- THIS ONE IS SO FUNNY ACTUALLY. For a while in the translation I was reading Laios & co would call him “Sureau” WHICH. fuck makes later events so much better. I’m not sure how intentional it was on the translator’s part but it ended up working out if it wasn’t!
Other things:
-Tallmen got translated just as “human” before it became clear that it was the canon term for humans.
-I can’t remember exactly what name they chose, but one translator decided to localize Kensuke to something to sort of preserve the pun. For those who don’t know, naming a sword Kensuke is kinda like naming it “Sir Swordsington” lolol.
#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#dunmeshi#ggp#that’s all I remember for now! lmk if you remember any other examples!

Yandere DunMeshi MBTI: Laios Touden
No one in the world requested this, I just think this man needs to be studied under a microscope and I can't quit rolling him around in my brain. Headcanons based on the Yandere MBTI indicator conceptualized by the lovely ddarker-dreams! Please send them love and feel free to request me for any characters. [Warnings: general yandere scariness]

CRUEL Vs. REVERENT Darling captures Laios's attention primarily because they are kind. They smile at his stories even if he's told them a hundred times before, they ask him questions about monsters and don't shy away when he pulls out a tome's worth of notes detailing each one. Darling always has a terrible look on their face when Laios is injured and has never once made him feel less than. To Laios, darling is the sun.
If darling is part of his party, they can expect to be doted on, fussed over, and guarded to a point where the only time they are truly alone is when bathing. Even then, Chilchuck has to constantly assure Laios that darling is absolutely fine, much to his chagrin. If they are injured or die, Laios almost becomes a different person for hours after they're revived. He's anxious, snappy, even hostile until darling can bring him back down with their calm nature.
If darling isn't in the party, they can still expect to see Laios nearly all of the time. Sometimes it doesn't quite make sense how Laios can go on so many trips to the dungeon and yet still have time to consistently be in darling's personal space on the surface. Darling can expect to receive souvenirs from the dungeon (mostly monster parts, always frightening) and letters about adventures that Laios will simply tell them again in person anyway. He'll insist on walking them home and greeting them in the morning before he leaves to the dungeons again.
AWARE VS. DELUSIONAL
All Laios knows is that the emotion he feels when the object of his affection is around seems measurably different than his love for his sister or love for his friends. Truth be told, there has always been a nagging worry at the back of his mind that he might never be able to feel for a human the way he loves adventuring or studying monsters. That he's doomed to a life of solitude surrounded by nothing that understands him. When darling comes along, they're like a beacon of light that tells Laios he's capable of being normal for once. After all, he finally feels the kind of love he's been lectured time and time again that he should be feeling at his age. A chivalrous need to protect, to treasure, to study and bring gifts and share meals and troubles and maybe, just maybe even taste and touch and devour- It's just what loving someone means.
MANIPULATIVE VS. HONEST
There is no need to manipulate darling because Laios himself doesn't feel that any of his behavior is wrong. He doesn't know how to be anything but himself, and any hint darling or others try to give him that maybe his interactions are bordering on unhealthy and obsessive don't reach him at all. If darling says they'd better get going, Laios is there to walk them home. If Marcille tries to tell Laios that darling is perfectly capable of taking care of themselves, he marvels at how talented darling is and then does nothing to change his behavior. If Namari outright tells him that he needs to give darling space, he'll nod seriously and then decide that sitting across from darling and not next to darling is sufficient. In Laios's mind, everything is perfect.
STRICT VS. LENIENT
As long as darling is safe, or what Laios deems to be safe, everything is fine. Darling can do what they want on the surface, talk to whom they want on the surface, go dungeoneering if darling is part of the party. Problems begin to arise when that sense of security wanes. The look of that gnome chatting with darling isn't one that Laios likes. As a tall-man, it's very easy to keep him from speaking to darling ever again. Darling wants to go on a trip to Kahka Brud, Laios is quick to insist that he come along. After a particularly nasty event in the dungeon, Laios might make it his mission that darling never venture beneath the surface again. Laios is harmless until threatened- that's when his brand of love becomes suffocation.

─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚.───
Laios made a promise to never consume a demi-human, no matter the circumstances. It made sense, they were on the cusp of something that was human but not. They could have similar features like the races they respectively belonged to, could bleed red and have had a beating heart, yet in the end, they were still a monster inside and out. Morally or ethically — whichever which belonged to which — according to Chilchuck, it was still wrong to try and consume them.
He understood that completely once it got explained and stuck into his head, but then you came into question.
When you came into Laios's party during the search for his sister, you were almost attacked from how you meekly approached the small group in one of the dungeon’s levels. They were right to be cautious of course, many human-like monsters had previously attacked them when their guard was down, but once they realized you genuinely meant no harm, they let you join in. Marcille was overjoyed that another girl had joined the party, though both Laios and Chilchuck had their valid doubts about you. Senshi didn't really mind, long as you could pull your own weight and never tried to attack them.
Were you trying to play the long game? Did it make them taste better when you waited to strike? Were you eyeing your pick in the group? Senshi and him both have a lot of meat on their person, Chilchuck was definitely the least desirable since he was so small and had less meat on his body; to be honest, Marcille was in a similar boat as him too.
Food-wise, you ate whatever Senshi made with a happy smile, not even being deterred once from having to eat something that was considered to be closely related to you. He wondered if it was something you were used to, something that you had to be doing in order to survive down here. Then, if it came to other parties that came before them and being forced to defend yourself, did you ever had to... consume them?
Laios hoped it never had to occur, but he couldn't blame you if you had no other choice. He could imagine you being trapped for days before your kind could get to you, maybe one or two bodies from an adventuring party were with you from a previous scuffle and the pangs of hunger were getting to you. The thought of the remaining party members finding the torn apart limbs and strewn, chewed on bones surrounding a bloody starving monster made his stomach flip and a shiver go down his spine. Maybe it's because that's how he last remembered Falin right before she teleported them out of the dungeon, her midst of her body trapped in the toothy maw of that Red Dragon.
Because of this now since your alliance with them combined with the many questions in his head about your diet, there was one that he can't quite get rid of, no matter how much he tried.
What did a human taste like to a monster?
It's been a few weeks since they've ventured in the dungeon and Laios still had some doubts with your intentions for joining. A monster is a monster and cannot be trusted no matter what, but you didn't cause trouble or held them back from their search so he let you be... for now at least. He'd be a hypocrite for not letting you stay since he's been keeping Kensuke around, but it's only temporary and it can't really harm him without the other parts of the Living Armor. You're a moving... person? Half of one. Actually more a third-fourth of one? He doesn't quite know but still rather fascinated by your existence.
You were similar to them in conscious thought and speech, as well as appearance-wise. Well, appearance-wise, you definitely weren't human. Small, bilateral curved horns made their home on the sides of your head, floppy brown ears swung around with every step you took, a long bovine tail whipped around the bottom of your legs, and finally, your legs were curved into two thick cow-like stumps with hooves at the end as a replacement of feet. Minotaur, or that's what you said what you were, though you were smaller than those massive farm animal adjacent beasts, about a few inches taller than Marcille.
And not to sound like a perv or anything remotely similar to that, but you didn't really have udders either, unless your more than well-endowed breasts compensated for the lack thereof.
"Ow! Laios!" He snapped out of his thoughts, looking down at his metal shoe and seeing the fluffy end of your tail on the bottom of it.
"Oh, sorry." Slowly, he lifted his foot off of it, the appendage whipping around and twitching. It wrapped around your waist, almost completely hidden as a fuzzy brown and white belt.
"It's bad to get distracted here, are you hungry? Thirsty? I have some bread and milk in the pack if you want to snack on it." As you walked on forwards, you pulled the bag off of your shoulders and began to rummage through it with one hand. You finally found what you were looking for, handing it over to him without hesitation, slinging your bag back where it belonged. He stared at the milk as he chewed on the bread, the texture soft and light with each bite.
Did... did this come from you? You mentioned to them before in the beginning stages of joining that they can drink your milk if they needed to, but the horrified looks of both the elven mage and the Half-foot locksmith prevented you from trying any further. Both him and Senshi was of course curious, Minotaur milk was both difficult to come across and retrieve, but the two told the dwarf that they absolutely refused to eat anything that he cooked if it came from your body.
"Gross, don't tell me that came from you Y/N." Chilchuck grimaced as he walked on by and you shook your head.
"No! Of course not. I know you people humans are a little weird but I wouldn't give something that came from me without telling you. It's just cow milk, er... not from me." Laios felt a little disappointed as he opened the top of the bottle, wondering if it tasted different from normal cow's milk. According to the Dungeon Gourmet Guide, Minotaur milk was thicker and sweeter compared to the average cattle's; then again, this precious book of his wasn't really that accurate unfortunately.
What about your flesh?
He came to a sudden standstill, almost causing Marcille to bump into him.
"If you're gonna stop out of nowhere, at least move to the side Laios!" She grumbled, moving past him as he stood there in confusion. What was he thinking? Why would he even go so far as to think that? He started moving again, carefully watching you click on forwards. His mind began to wander at the thought again, which parts of you would be edible?
Your legs definitely, there's so much muscle built upon you there. He'd seen you strike down stone pillars and enemies in a single blow without even flinching. Maybe even your thin tail, could be tough and stringy though. Your ears would take a while to feast upon, cartilaginous but still a good source of protein. Horns are a no-go, too small and were most likely hollower than meaty. Cow hooves are a delicacy in some parts of the world, so it was possible that yours were consumable too.
Would the "human" parts of you count? You hadn't revealed if you were full or half-monster, maybe even if you were cursed, so it was hard to truly determine what you were. If you were a full monster, that meant that every bit and piece of you was edible meat.
Meat.
Meat.
Meat.
"Laios, you’re drooling! I can hear your stomach rumbling too," Your giggling voice rang clearly in his mind, his gaze snapping downwards as he wiped his mouth quickly. "I have more bread if you want."
"No, no. It's better if we stop now and make something more nutritionally beneficial to continue forwards," Senshi stopped with the two of you, turning his head around to find a suitable room for cooking. "Think I still have some of those Harpy eggs and Kelpie flesh, would you two be so kind to try and find some more ingredients on this floor? Any vegetation would do this meal some good."
And here the two of you were, walking around the floor's grounds to spot for anything of use. It was almost completely quiet minus the shifting of his armor and the clicks of your hooves echoing throughout the stone hallway, reducing that awkward silence just a little. Your weapon, a sharpened scythe, swung around on your back as if you were a cow grim reaper; the thought of a cow dressed up in a black robe with a menacing skull mask made him chuckle in his head a little.
"Oh! Up ahead, I see something leafy." The hoof-clicking went faster as you picked up your pace, ducking your head from the fallen wooden structures that were in the way. Compared to the average Minotaur, you moved and reacted quicker, most likely because of your smaller stature and having a little less muscle in your body to heave around. That could make you vulnerable on the other hand, having less muscle everywhere else minus your legs meant diminished strength and being unable to defeat enemies in a more timely manner. Interesting.
"Laios, do you think this enough for all five of us?" You shuffled out of the crevice in a huff with bundles of thick purple, triangular leaves in your arms and he took a pinch from one of the leaves, inspecting it before placing it in his mouth. He winced, his face contorting to a pucker as you laughed at his expression. Dungeon oxalis, edible but strongly tasted similarly to citrus.
"We could work with it, could make up for lemons since they're pretty sour. Here, place it in your bag and we can search for other things." You nodded after wiping your eyes from your boisterous laughter, following his instructions and getting back up from the ground.
You dusted yourself off before picking the bag back up, smiling at him as the two of you began to move deeper into the dungeon. "I hope we find some Night Lucernes but I think since we're already so low underground, it's getting more unlikely they can grow here."
"Oh we can't eat those, they make us sluggish and gives us stomach cramps for weeks."
Blinking at him, you tilted your head in confusion. He never noticed how long your eyelashes were, is that common in your kind? "Really? They're like vitamins for me or was it something about the blood—"
"Why are you not like the other Minotaurs?"
"Huh?" The question was out of the blue, interrupting her talking as the two of you had stopped in the middle of the hallway, eyes locked with one another.
"Why are you not like the other Minotaurs?" Laios repeated, not skipping a beat and leaning down closer to you. "You're not massively built, you don't have a cow's head, you don't have large horns. You don't strictly eat vegetation, is it even good for you to eat monster meat so often? There's so very few things that are Minotaur-like on you, are you really one of their kind?"
Your eyelids fluttered in shock, each question wrapping around your brain before you leaned away from him, scratching the back of your neck. "Well... I-I don't really know why myself."
"...What?"
"Uh yeah. One day, when I was still young, I woke up in this dungeon alone without a single memory in my mind. I don't even remember who named me either, but I vaguely remember being told that I'm a Minotaur. Maybe it's the Mad Mage's fault but I'm sorry Laios, I really can't explain why I'm not more like them."
Did that even satisfy his question on whether you were edible as a Minotaur or not?
"I do know is that I am a monster," You put a hand over where your heart is, clenching it tightly into a fist. "I ain't like you people humans and I'm sure not like those other animal humans you coexist with, so I am nothing but a monster. I may look a little different from my kind but inside and out, I have the Minotaur’s blood in me. And the strictly herbivore thing isn't really true, I can eat meat if I have no other choice to, it's not all that bad though. Doesn't really freak me out and I'm always grateful to have the opportunity to eat a good meal."
"So have you eaten other adventurers before meeting us? I won't judge, I'm genuinely curious and I won't tell the others if you have."
You froze, eyes casting downwards suddenly as your fists gripped onto the coat you wore. "I... I don't really want to talk about it Laios, sorry. I'll answer your other questions but some things are better left off unsaid, okay? Please respect that."
His lips were pulled into a thin line, the nagging voice in his head still ever curious on whether you've eaten human before, but you really did seem uncomfortable talking about the topic. "Sorry."
He then put a hand under his chin, thinking about what you've said previously slowly. Inside and out... Does that mean you are edible? I mean, you basically said it yourself, despite you being more on the human-appearance spectrum of monsters. Then again, they met more human-like monsters like the Harpies and the Dryads, and they've eaten them before! (Well... sorta.) The mermen were edible too (despite Chilchuck stopping him from taking more of the parts), so that means—
"Can I drink your milk then?"
"Wha— H-huh?!" The apples of your cheeks glowed a dark shade of red, but his gaze remained determined, sparkling in excitement even.
"You offered it before, didn't you? Chilchuck and Marcille aren't here so they won't judge us and I've been curious since my book said that it's different from normal cow's milk." You looked around, even peeking behind him, before sighing and bashfully pouting.
"I did! I know I did! But, I have to make it fresh since I threw out the ones I had on hand a week ago and I don't have any on my person right now so..."
"It's okay, I can wait." He bluntly replied, oblivious to your wording. Laios just wanted a little taste, nothing more and nothing less.
You mumbled something under your breath, his ears catching a few words of him being 'too eager' and 'quick to answer'. Was he? He was just answering your question honestly, and he’s been ever so curious about it ever since you’ve offered it before.
"Let me find a room, just wait outside for a bit."
You were flushed, clicking away to find a place to hide out so you could produce what he wanted. Of course he followed shortly after you left, staying outside just like you told him to and it would serve as extra security. If Minotaur milk tasted as good as they say, he might just keep asking you for it when some certain party members aren't nearby. Hell, he might even be able to sneak some to Senshi since he's been curious about it too! It's only right to share a magnificent discovery to the best monster chef. Actually, he might be the only monster chef he knew but he was still the best by default.
He waited.
And waited.
And waited…
Laios started to sit down next to the door due to how long you were taking to produce a small bottle. Was it difficult to get milk out of the body by yourself? He had to ask about that too since he’s only seen male Minotaurs depicted in his book; there was nothing but a small and vague paragraph that explained about the female Minotaurs, but it was mostly about their milk.
He closed his eyes, leaning his head against the stone wall. You really were a strange individual, someone that he can’t quite understand. Your very being makes his mouth salivate whenever he thinks about you as a next meal, even if it shouldn’t. Was it because all they’ve been eating has been monster-related? His strange fixation on trying them was slowly being satiated with every step down the dungeon, so he chalked it up to just being morbidly curious.
It has to be that reason, it must be, because what kind of sick individual constantly thinks about consuming his friend?
Opening back his eyes, he took another quick glance at the wooden door. Laios was extremely curious on how the whole process worked, if you really had extra udders or if the hidden parts of your body were furry or skin. Plus, you really were taking a long time, one of the three were bound to come over soon and he wouldn't be able to try the milk! Actually... you know what? What if you had gotten attacked in there by a whole group of Mimics?! Or any other monster group, like the ghosts! You were strong but you can’t take all of them at once, and monsters aren't able to revive here. Wait...
Monsters don’t revive here.
He scrambled up on his feet at the realization, quickly knocking on the door, the sound of stumbling and thuds causing him to immediately panic and start pushing it open.
"Are you oka—" Laios froze, his eyes widening.
Your eyes were wide open as well, mouth partially parted open in dumbfounded shock. At least you looked okay and it seemed there wasn't any harmful enemies around, just some old furniture that had fallen over. It's weird though. There you sat on the ground in the midst of the mess, one arm covering your bare chest while the other was holding a partially filled glass. He stood there in puzzlement as your face grew redder by the second, placing the glass down slowly before reaching for your weapon that was right next to you.
Oh.
Oh...
OH!
"LAIOS!!!"
"I'M SO SORRY!!!" He slammed the door back shut as the scythe made its way towards his head, the sharp blade slicing through the old wood, the tip just barely missing his nose. His heart pounded against the metal chest plate like a beating drum, his lungs completely drained of all air. He began to kneel on the ground for some support since his legs started to give out from the revelation. His body was burning up, like he just got lit on fire from the Red Dragon or was a little too close to one of Marcille's explosion spells.
He just saw you naked. Not completely, but still, he just saw your breasts. He was used to and never cared about seeing others nude or topless, whether they be male or female — monster or not — it's just parts but seeing you?
Despite being here for most of your life, the skin from what he saw was quite smooth and rather mostly unblemished. It's like scars weren't able to attach onto the surface, as if they weren't allowed to. And the curvature of your heavy breasts, the noticeable suppleness of both when you moved and inadvertently squeezed them with your arm. They weren't udders at all either like he thought they were, they were undeniably humanlike, no fur included. He imagined biting into them, wondering if it'll be easy to sink his teeth into the squishy fat while he sucked on both the spilling blood and milk, thinking about the mix of sweetness and tangy that'll occur if he did. He'd be especially lucky to leave any mark on your pristine skin during the process, his body tingling at the idea of being the only one — the only human — to permanently leave something behind.
Laios couldn't stop salivating, a hand over his mouth to prevent him from drooling all over himself. He's shaking, why was he shaking? Was it from the fear of these unstoppable thoughts of his? Because of the leaf he ate not a moment ago? No. It's because of these recent developments and the answers he was getting from them, he was becoming... excited.
What the fuck was wrong with him?
‘•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’'•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’'•.¸♡ ♡¸.•’
The door finally creaked open, a small glass bottle being pushed towards him from the barely ajar entrance. He looked up to where your head would be, your eyes nervously staring down to the side. You started to apologize in a soft mumble as you slowly revealed yourself, now completely dressed.
"Sorry for throwing my weapon at you earlier, but this is all I can give right now. If I had eaten Night Lucernes prior, it would've been better quality. Um... enjoy I guess?"
"Thank you for the drink." Laios smiled and took the bottle in his hands, staring at the liquid. It was warm, which was expected since it just came out of your body, and it wasn't fully white like he thought it would be, the color just had the faintest tinge of yellow that could be missed if he wasn't looking close enough. He took the glass's edge to his lips and finally, he took a small swig of it.
Sweet, precisely as he thought it would be, but not as overtly strong to make him sick or give him an immediate cavity. The book was right to say that it was thick, almost similar to a honey-like consistency but still light enough to not choke at the heavy feeling of it go down his throat. He didn't realize that he quickly drank all of it at once, his tongue running across his lips to catch any remaining liquid left. You said that this wasn't the best quality, but he couldn't imagine it being any better than what he just drank.
"That was..." Laios paused, smacking his lips to try and remember the taste once more. Your face slightly fell, eyebrows worriedly scrunching together. "Amazing!"
"R-really?" The slightly-afraid look melted off in relief, your eyes glowing in happiness. "No one ever said that it tasted amazing before... Actually, no one actually tried it before except you Laios."
He... he was the first one that tried your milk? The fleeting thoughts he had prior ran through his mind again, his cheeks flushing a slight pink. If he really was the first one that drank something of yours... then it's only right that it would be specially reserved for him right? It's really selfish of him to keep this amazing beverage from his dear party, but something like this should be cherished by the one that adores you the most.
He quickly grabbed your hands, holding them up as he squeezed them tightly in excitement. "Can I have more later? I won't tell our party, it'll be our little secret exchange between the two of us."
Laios watched your expression turned from complete shock to shy awe, your tail twitching around and thumping against your legs. You were silent for a bit before looking up at him, a determined glint in your eyes. "W-what's in it for me? I can't just be the only one giving you something.
Shit. That was fair of you to bring up but him as a normal Tall-man, there was very little he could give you in return for your breast milk. "What would you want from me anyway?"
His mind immediately went into the gutter: you wanted to eat something off of him. It could be considered a fair exchange, consumable body part for consumable bodily fluid. Maybe you were getting tired of eating monsters, needing your actual nutrition from people. He started to get nervous, what would he be able to give you from his body? Would a finger satiate you or would you need something larger? Laios can't really give up his arms or legs, he'd need them in order to get through the dungeon and save Falin. Tongue was completely out of the question, he can't imagine not being able to taste food in both normal and monster dishes.
The idea of giving you his dick to consume suddenly popped up in his mind, the thought of trying to cut it off caused him to pale. He didn't use it much compared to his other body parts, only needing it to use to take a leak; he wasn't really the sexually active type either, being able to count the partners he previously had on only one hand. Technically and hesitantly, that would be the only large body part that he can give up for you.
Briefly, he imagined how'd you eat it. You weren't an messy eater when it came to Senshi's food — despite having to learn how to use utensils but still preferring to make use of your hands — so you'd probably be as neat as possible with it. You'd eat it raw, as soon as he managed to slice it off his person, warm crimson slipping down your fingers as you bite down through the layers of skin and muscle.
Or there was the possibility that you wanted to take it off yourself, kneeling right down in-between his legs, hands slowly sliding up his thighs to his hips as you approached his lower half. He'd be forced to watch you take his soft cock into your mouth, probably struggling if he accidentally got hard during the process. The last thing that Laios would feel would be your mouth's warmth wrapping around it before chomping down.
A shiver went down his spine, though it didn't feel as horrid as it was supposed to be.
With your big lashed eyes, you slowly blinked once more as a small smile grew on your lips. "Knowledge. I want to learn about the outside world. I've never left the dungeon before, all the adventurers that came before your party prevented me from ever trying."
Oh... That's actually not a bad exchange request, simple in nature. At least he gets to keep his junk, despite his heart still pounding from what his fucked-up mind just mustered up.
"Okay deal. I'll teach you about my world in exchange for milk." He put out his hand, letting you reach out and shake it. Your eyes relaxed as you smiled warmly up at him, finally letting him go. Laios then went over and patted your head, rubbing the top gently. You stiffened lightly at the gesture, his fingers brushing over the horns. They were smooth with faint ring-like indentations, almost an ivory-creamy color. Truly a fascinating feeling.
"There you guys are! You've been gone for so long that we were starting to get worried." Marcille. You batted his hand off of your head quickly, turned around with a tautly-pulled grin towards the elven girl.
"Must've lost track of time finding what Senshi wanted, sorry about the wait. You guys must be starving by now." The two of you started to chat walking back to the temporary camp, Laios watching and following from behind. You pulled out the oxalis in your bag to show her, a proud expression beaming off your face as you brought up his face when he first tried it. His stomach twisted, his hand resting on the top of his armor-covered abdomen.
There were very few monsters he found cute, most being out-of-this-world frightening to gaze upon, but you truly were one of the cuter ones around. He felt hungry again as your hips swayed from side to side, tail flicking around. He brushed the fingers that he touched your horns with against his lips, reminiscing on the texture. How sensitive were they? You did go rigid when he brushed against them, but it could be just from the shock.
Saliva was building up in his mouth again, and he could only harshly swallow back the feeling.
Deplorable he was with this appetite, the desire to consume you piece by piece. Would you accept that as one of your final fates? Rather than being killed and left behind with little to no chance of being revived, he'd pick up every raw part of you and eat it, savoring each bite in respect for what you've sacrificed to help him find his sister. Laios would try to bring the inedible bits of you with him — bones, teeth, horns, nails, hooves, hair — for the rest of this dungeon's journey and back into his world. Your wish would be granted, despite not being able to fully witness it yourself; you might even thank him for that bit of kindness too.
This thing the two of you had was special, unbeknownst to the others. A friendship that couldn't be understood by the other members of the party, but was completely comprehensible to only you and him. Symbiotic, just almost mutualistic. A love of one's flesh in exchange for the love of another's world.
Love.
Though Laios has expressed his heavy interest and passion in monsters, he never had said he loved them. Most were mindlessly dangerous, no matter how small or large they were, acting on base instinct. Yet, you were different. In fact, he could say that you were the opposite of him. Instead of being grouped together with your fellow monster-kind, you were more interested in being around outsiders. Different sides of the same golden coin.
A realization hit him, his eyes widening. The strange feelings in his body, the perverse, obsessive fantasies he's been having about you... It could only mean that he—
"Jeez Laios, you've been spacing out all day. Are you okay?"
He snapped out of it, staring at the concerned looks of both you and Marcille. Laios only smiled, his golden eyes focused completely on your form. Both your ear and tail tip was twitching, flicking in the air as if a fly was nearby.
"I'm just hungry, that's all."

i clearly have a type for my preferred gremlins. i want a demented, feral little bastard, fully rabid and foaming at the mouth if you just look at their partner wrong, and a guy who looks casually like axe murderer standing behind them with a smoothie, unruffled until somebody gets too close to their demented little man, and then the serial killer vibes come out.
like here, it's steve that's the demented little bastard and bucky is casually an axe murderer, and that's really fun.
like, steve flips his lid over something vision goes red veins throb in his temple as he's shrieking flapping his arms steam coming out of his ears and there's bucky behind him like "i'll give him two more seconds before i put a stop to this." or they're in the club steve's tipsy an affectionate giggly drunk and very pretty so everyone's trying to flirt with him until a shadow falls over them and there's the winter soldier with his full murder face on. he doesn't have to say a word before the pathetic attempt at rivals flee bc of sheer vibes. but when it's all over, steve the demented feral fully rabid little bastard gets topped by bucky the casual axe murderer, so thoroughly he ends up crying and drooling. great dynamic. love that vibe.
but now there's my new set of blorbos, laios and chilchuck from dungeon meshi. and it's the opposite dynamic.
chilchuck is the feral rabid demented little bastard, laios casually looks like a good catholic boy scout that accidentally apprenticed under dexter so now he's weird, but chilchuck doms the shit out of laios, i just know it. like even if chilchuck is literally the one bottoming, he's topping from the bottom. laios has definitely let that tiny little man step on him. his face, his dick, his head, whatever part of him he wants to. but the second somebody starts creeping on chilchuck or just plain offends him, you know laios has got his hand on the hilt of his sword giving them that deep dark unreadably blank look like he knows what human flesh tastes like, all "walk away. now." (does he know? you decide. i think a little bit of canibalism is okay sometimes.) and after they're gone, you know he'd go from using his big boy bark to his happy puppy awoo yay master's been successfully resource guarded in like a split second, like to anybody other than chilchuck (used to this) he'd switch attitudes so fast it'd give them whiplash. and chilchuck would be like "good dog you may have one (1) kiss as a treat" "YAY KISSES" "ONE KISS"
i mean just look at them. you know i'm right.

Dungeon Meshi Chapter 95
Izutsumi gets to decide what she wants to eat.

I bet Yaad didn't even know about Delgal's statement until Marcille told him in chapter 46. Yaad must have really respected Delgal if he's going through all this effort to make sure Delgal's will is enacted.
Yaad becoming king is impractical because 1) he just showed up out of nowhere and has been out of touch with the world for 1,000 years and 2) he might turn to dust at any moment.
This image and description conjured a silly idea for a sequel.
It's several centuries later. Nearly everyone who was part of this story is long dead and no one remembers the true details, only Kabru's embellished retelling.
Some new threat appears and the protagonist is seeking the power of the great demon-devouring king to stop it. Eventually, they learn about someone who knows the truth behind his power and the protagonist seeks them out.
They find this person living in a log cabin inside a dungeon where she's been running her own personal farm growing man-eating plants and dryads, and raising basilisks and slimes. She also has a black and white cat.
When the protagonist asks her about the demon-devouring king, she speaks fondly of their time together, but when asked about his power to turn into a dragon, she becomes deadpan and says the protagonist should not seek that power.
Eventually, the protagonist gains the power to turn into the dragon that devoured a demon, and they and everyone else just thinks "That's not a dragon. Why does it look so dumb."
The focus of this chapter is Izutsumi and what she's going to do next.
I like this little detail where a walking mushroom is helping Senshi and Chilchuck in their recipe diagrams.
Zon picked Izutsumi up by the scruff like she's a kitten. And she's acting like a kitten that just got picked up by the scruff.
HA! That face!
Zon assumes human societies also practice polygamy.
Honestly, marrying Laios shouldn't be necessary. If he becomes king, he'll definitely accept the orcs as his people.
And I can't imagine him being married at all. If he took a wife, she'd be either the craziest-looking woman imaginable, or she'd look like the most unassuming thing who is just as if not more monster-obsessed as Laios.
Chilchuck is such a good guy that he's willing to even take care of scabs like Mikbell.
Chilchuck is vouching for Laios to be king. He's always critical about Laios, but it looks like he thinks Laios does have what it takes to be a ruler.
I amazed Chilchuck is so calm around wargs since Leed tried to feed him to them.
It's the newbies! I don't think they know the first thing about cooking or food prep.
Reminder: Izutsumi is from an eastern culture.
Someone bonked Fleki because of that fingernails remark.
Marcille is Izutsumi's favorite. Izutsumi is more likely to listen to her.
At least, until Marcille gets clingy.
Izutsumi doesn't care that Laios is going to be busy. She's only upset that this means Yaad is going to spend all his time working for Laios.
She was really looking forward to going on adventures with Yaad the talking doll and beating up the magician who turned her into a beastkin.
Would burning the dragon and scattering its ashes in the woods have worked? The phoenix was able to resurrect from its ashes but not from being eaten. I guess the ashes and smoke would still count as dragon remains even if the body would be far beyond recovery.
Izutsumi's theme throughout this story has been about how you sometimes have to do things you don't want to do in order to live a happy, healthy life.
Izutsumi has never gotten to live her own life. She was a slave for as far back as she can remember. When she was purchased by the Nakamoto household, this just meant changing from a cage to a leash. She didn't even join the Touden party of her own volition; she had to stay with them because she'd never be able to escape the dungeon on her own.
While she does like the Touden party more, she still tries to avoid doing anything she doesn't want to do. She cares about them enough that she will come to their rescue and fight alongside them, but she's not going to help lure out a bicorn, clean up a house, or catch a giant block of falling ice.
I talked about how that crossroads moment in chapter 44 was a literal example of how Izutsumi will take the easy path even if it causes her to end up further from her goal. And she still has a lot of that mentality. And the party all know she does.
Every moment of this chapter is about everyone doing things they don't want to do but understand it's what they need to do. Yaad and Kabru want Laios to become king because it's the best option for everyone. Leed is willing to marry Laios to ensure the orc tribe's safety. Chilchuck is going to help all the other Half-foots before running the shop he wants to do, and Marcille is going to jail against her and Pattadol's wishes.
Izutsumi spoke to everyone looking for some ideas because she thought they would all just do whatever they want, but they're all planning to do things they admit they don't like. And Izutsumi's final takeaway on this is that even if they didn't grow up in a cage or raised with a leash on them, there are still things everyone cannot have and things they have to do even if they don't like it.
When deciding what she wants to do right now, Izutsumi decided to talk to Laios. It's probably not something she actually would normally want to do, but he's in the same situation as her. Neither of them know to do going forward. But talking with him might help both of them.
Laios is weirded out by how resigned Izutsumi is.
Their chat with each other really helped both of them out. Izutsumi told Laios how sometimes you don't have a choice about things you don't like whether it be because of prejudices, finances, or politics. And that seems to have made Laios decide that he should accept being a king. Then he can make a place where everyone can come together and share meals they like with each other.
I'm sure this is mostly Izutsumi subtly airing her own grievances. She's a little annoyed that Laios's actions means there's no longer a cosmic being that will move heaven and earth to grant her wishes.
So Laios is going to become a king because it will let him make the place he wants. Meanwhile, Izutsumi is going to eat a meat pie with vegetable because it will let her enjoy his cooking.

GENUINELY I would read an entire fic about your bnha/dunmeshi crossover that sounds like so much fun-
Do you have any other thoughts about it or plans? Or is it just gonna be a nebulous blob that haunts you occasionally? (Completely understandable, I have MANY of those)
I have some thoughts:
I'm thinking Izuku is like... eight/nine when he activates his Quirk. Chilchuck is 23, and his wife has recently left him.
Cilchuck really isn't okay with having Izuku around, but the issue is that they don't have another choice. They tried to speak to other Tallmen, but no one believed them; they thought the thing was a scam.
So Chilchuck is stuck with Izuku. He's not that much of a dickwad to just leave the kid alone, so they start off as an apprenticeship which evolves into parental. Good luck getting either to admit it.
Chilchuck, thanks to helping raise Izuku, is much more open in this AU. He's still our grumpy divorced union man, who keeps secrets and doesn't talk about his personal life. However he is more emotionally open, and actually keeps better contact with his ex and daughters.
Izuku's Quirk is interesting as while he can't bring a lot of objects through both lives before OFA, he does get affected by both lives in each other. His muscle mass increases thanks to his life on the Island in his MHA body. He is healthier then many in his Island body due to the nutrition he gets in his MHA body.
This does extend to his injuries, including deaths. If he dies in the dungeon, he wakes up in his Japanese body and cannot return until he's revived.
Chilchuck convinces Izuku to tell Inko about Bakugou's bullying, and Inko teaches Izuku how to forage.
When Dungeon Meshi starts, Izuku is fifteen. I think it happens when He is training for UA, so he is really getting the gains of both lives.
After Meshi, Izuku gets into UA. He's a battle hardened fighter who is going to kick ass.
Other random notes:
Izuku started joining Chilchuck on adventures when he was eleven, when Chilchuck joined Laios. After a single mission, Chilchuck felt there wasn't a worry about Izuku's health with the party. It helps that Izuku being a Tallman was noticeable by then, which was causing issues in town.
Laios is Izuku's big brother for all intents and purposes. Fallin is his big sister.
I imagine that Chilchuck becomes a fatherly figure to the siblings. This makes him more open to them and makes him care for them more.
Izuku eventually develops the ability to move people between worlds. Which is good, cause I have had a brain wave:
Izuku can carry letters between worlds, which lets Chilchuck and Inko get to know each other. This leads to them developing feelings for each other. Now that they can visit each other, their relationship becomes fully romantic. Both are in the same life stage, both being of middle age. Plus, in this AU, Inko knows she will eventually develop Huntington's as her Quirk makes her ten times as likely, and it runs in her family. The life span issue will not be a problem.
Izuku is pretty shocked by this.
Inko decides to stay on the Island but only after Izuku is done school—at least until All Might offers to house him, when it's easier for her.
Izuku brings his family over to Japan often, and it is a very nice time.
Though Senshi, they're all human. Not monsters.
Izuku gets OFA early since he is strong enough to get it, and it helps in the dungeon.
Izuku is thought to actually be Chilchuck's son who took after a Tallman wife. it causes issues back home since everyone thinks he cheated or something, but his daughters and ex support him. He's doing much better now.

genital headcannons for :
Falin
Laios
Chilchuck
Toshiro
Namari
Venery
Thistle
Falin definitely has a penis, I think hers is probably the biggest out of Laios' party? Namari definitely packs, I would let her peg me for hours omg..... she could ruin me. Ermmm.. Chilchuck probably has a big cock for a halfling, he's fucking TALL !!!! bro has to be packing something. Also shaved or not shaved... Namari body hair everywhere OMG I need her to shove my face into her bush I need to smell her. Sorry I'm being a little too straight (? I am a man but this feels gay idk) ... anyway chil, Namari, and Falin are unshaved, full bush down there. I feel like Toshiro at his best keeps everything trimmed !! but when he can't even shave his face when he's at his lowest... bro wouldn't have the energy to take care of it. Hmm and then Laios could be either way..?? We know he shaves his face and keeps his hair short bc he doesn't wanna look like his dad, but would he even think of shaving his pubes????? Idk. Wait is this a weird thing to think about? Oh wait do elves grow body hair??? I feel like thistle would have some body hair if it's possible, I feel like they can't... unless my DND 5e knowledge is getting mixed with uhmmm. What is it called... DUNGEON MESHI I think I'm starting to dissociate I'm going to stop typing lmfao
FALIN - GIRLCOCK. Whether you are a trans!Falin fan or what, in my eyes after the red dragon thing. She gets girl cock. I can see this as either like, a penis or like T-dick. Whatever you decide. But whatever it is her situation is definitely unique. Also she got a bush frfr
Laios - COCK. (I am also a trans!Laios fan so like. He can have anything in his pants it don’t matter imma eat it but usually when I write him it’s cock). His dick is as painfully average as he is. Not crazy length wise but he got some girth to it. I’m thinking like. 5 inches frfr. Maybe 6 but that’s generous imo. No manscaping just vibes he’s full bush down there. And body hair on his chest/legs/arms and around his groin
Chilchuck - OKAY. His dick is probably like more similar to an average tallman penis. Which is remarkable considering he’s like half their size. I’m gonna give him four inches and he’s breaking other halflings in half with it but with other races. He’s learned how to use it. Chilchuck is a real one. Light on body hair, but would keep it tidy when he’s not in the dungeon (I think he likes to manscape and like. Appreciate himself in the mirror lol)
Toshiro - He is ALL length and so embarrassed about it. (Def afraid he’s gonna hurt you.) He could learn to love it with a supportive partner though. I think for a while he’s rocking bush because like, yknow. That stuff isn’t really talked about…but he figured it out for himself that when he takes his time and shaves and stuff after a anything or whatever he’ll do some trimming down there because he likes the neatness. I like to think he grows body hair but it’s not super dark for some reason (besides on his face people get jealous at the beard he can grow)
Namari - SHE IS JUST LIKE ME I GET HER VIBE SO WHAT IM SAYING HERE IS CANON: SHE HAS CRAZY PUSS BUT IS ALWAYS ROCKING THE STRAP. Namari doesn’t let anyone fuck her hole unless they’re in a committed relationship (she does not play about that either if you insert anything in her sex is over). Insane with the strap too. She’s someone I can genuinely see breaking the bed with her strokes. Also she’s got body hair for days. Like other Dwarf women she can grow a beard too but she usually shaves. (Namari with stubble…I’m bout to go feral.)
Venery - Started off with a human vagina. Now it’s some weird mix between that + hyena + dragon cock. I think he’s canonically intersex due to the ancient magic. But he’s happy about it. Also UHHHHHH…..HE LAYS EGGS. JS.
Thistle - Okay Thistle is so trans to me I think he gives himself top surgery when he’s getting older with ancient magic. He leaves the downstairs area alone because he’s fine with just presenting masc that’s good enough for him. Very low body hair he just sits in the middle of gender ambiguous for REAL.

Delicious in Dungeon scenario with an Eri Reader. She wants adventure and the adventurers are panicking because a child is in the dungeon!
-You weren’t completely sure where you were, it was a little cold, but nothing you couldn’t handle, but it was rather dark as you slowly stood, looking around.
-This wasn’t anything like the place you had been, with Overhaul, this was some place new, the walls and everything around you being made of stone.
-You were in a hallway, and after a brief debate, you picked one direction and started walking, hoping to find someone who might be able to help you and tell you where you were.
-You passed by some suits of armor, and your eyes turned into sparkles, seeing that you were in a castle! Or at least you thought you were, that’s what you saw in your picture books, stone buildings, and suits of armor.
-You wandered around for a while, seeing some glowing mushrooms in various areas, which made you curious on how they were glowing as you continued to explore.
-As you continued, you came across strange creatures, ones that didn’t pay you any mind, as you weren’t a threat and since you were small, you weren’t worth eating, but you didn’t know that. All you could see was creatures you’ve seen in fairy tales and picture books, and you were loving it! It was like you were on an adventure!
-You paused as you came to a large staircase, one that was spiraling both up and down, leaving you to your next decision, on which way to go.
-Believing you were in a castle, you decided to go down, as that would lead you to the entrance, or so you thought as you held onto the railing and slowly walked down, not wanting to fall.
-When you came to a big landing, that led out into various hallways, you decided to explore!
-You came across a round shield that had a lion head on the front of it, it was a little heavy, but you were able to put your arms through it, like a backpack, and you couldn’t help but beam, not really realizing the situation you found yourself in, you were just having fun!
-It was about two hours later when you were starting to get hungry as you held your stomach, wondering where you could get some food before a delicious smell surrounded you.
-You followed your nose and wandered down the hall, seeing it was a little lighter, thanks to floating balls of light that were around.
-You were in awe, “It’s so pretty!”
-You missed the nearby voices, but they instantly went silent, hearing a child’s voice and quickly they rushed towards you, worried about a child being so far down.
-You heard a boot skid and you turned from where you were holding one of the balls of light, seeing a group of people there, a human, a dwarf, a boy who had big ears, and an elf lady.
-Your eyes went wide as you beamed, pointing at the human, “A knight in shining armor!” instantly he had you in his arms, holding you out at arm’s length, “What’s a child doing here?”
-They took you back to their camp and Senshi, the dwarf, made you a bowl of the food, it was stew of some sort and Chilchuck had you on his lap, as he was the only one who had experience with children, helping you blow on your food.
-Marcille was super nice to you, as she asked how you got down so far, which confused you and Laois told you that you were going underground, as the castle was buried, turning it into a dungeon.
-You told them how you woke up in a long and dark hallway, with nobody around and you just started walking. Senshi was impressed with your bravery while Chilchuck was grumbling, annoyed at others, who let you get into this situation.
-When Laois asked you about your family, you got really quiet, pulling your arms into your chest, looking scared but Chilchuck grabbed your arm, gently, as he had seen something, and saw the scars on your arms.
-Marcille quickly had you in her arms, panicking about healing you, while the men were all shouting that they were going to roll some heads for hurting a child like you.
-You calmed them, but also broke their hearts, “They don’t hurt, not anymore. My quirk made them better.”
-After learning that this world didn’t have quirks, after you explained what one was, or at least the little bit that you did know, Marcille was theorizing that you came from another world, as your world was far more advanced than this world, as they asked you questions, and you asked them questions.
-You ended up telling them about Overhaul, telling them what he had done to you, trying to exploit your quirk, appalling them as they couldn’t even begin to imagine treating a child the way you had been treated.
-Laios was curious, wanting to know if it was like magic, and asked you for your permission to show your quirk, which you had never had before and you agreed.
-Marcille and Chilchuck were quickly yelling at Laois while you were sobbing, after he sliced his hand open, you hadn’t been expecting him to hurt himself, while Senshi was trying to calm you down.
-You took Laios’ hand in your own and your horn suddenly grew as an aura surrounded it, and they all watched as you healed the wound.
-Marcille, who was well versed in magic, watched carefully and she spoke, “It’s not magic, and it’s not healing, it’s like Y/N is reversing time, reversing the damage that has been done.”
-They all looked at you, knowing full well that there would be so many people that would exploit your abilities, since it wasn’t magic, but they weren’t going to let that happen. You’ve suffered enough, and now they were going to protect you.
-You threw your hands up and cheered loudly when Laios made the decision to keep you with their group, rather than taking you back upstairs and to a place you could get cared for, like an orphanage, as you didn’t want to leave your new friends.
-Marcille used a needle to alter one of her spare dresses so it could fit you and you twirled, “It’s so pretty, are you sure I can have this?” you were so stinking precious, you were such a selfless child, one they were now going to protect!
-As camp was packed up, Senshi helped you put your shield back on, stating that it was a good thing for you to be protected by it, while Chilchuck said you looked like a turtle, which just made you smile as you held onto Marcille’s hand as the group continued on.

Source: Delicious in Dungeon World Guide - The Adventurer's Bible
by Ryōko Kui
Link to the full Artbook
A young (middle-aged?) half-foot with very sharp senses. He can tell a structure's layout and its trap locations from the way sound echoes, and he serves as the lifeline during dungeon expeditions. He's neurotic and a consummate professional, and he doesn't like people horning in on his work. Since he knows several languages, he can interpret as well. He runs a half-foot guild and uses his influence to connect people with work, but apparently some half-foots don't like him much. He's sarcastic, sharp-tongued, and never loses a verbal fight, but he's also mature enough to apologize properly when he's erred. Who'd expect less from Mr. Chilchuck, age twenty-nine? As an aside he prefers beautiful blondes.
Laios and Chilchuck were introduced through Dandan, a half-foot who belonged to the guild. In terms of age, it happened just as he was starting to think about retiring from dungeon expeditions. However, Laios's group was bound for the dungeon's depths, and there were no other half-foots who seemed capable of getting there, so he decided to go with them. As an aside, the average half-foot lives to be fifty years old. In terms of modern-day humans, Chilchuck's about fifty, so it would have been a rather early retirement. After he stopped adventuring, he was planning to set up shop as a locksmith.
For a half-foot, Chilchuck is on the tall side. That means he's also a bit heavier, and that makes it easier for him to set off traps, so he's very careful to keep his weight under control. However, he's been eating well ever since Senshi took charge of the cooking, and he's currently beating his all-time high.
Chilchuck is a pretty heavy drinker. His father apparently died from drinking too much, but he thinks enjoying the things you like isn't a bad way to go. That being the case, he doesn't plan to cut back on his liquor intake, and he enjoyed the Golden Castle's local beer to his heart's content.
Chilchuck has a wife and three daughters, and all three are grown and out on their own. His wife is a childhood friend his own age; she's currently living with their second daughter. The scene at right is from Marcille's imagination; only Chilchuck knows what actually happened. That said, he's no longer suspected of cheating, and the women's (particularly Marcille's) opinion of him has improved, which is all for the better.
Half-foots have childlike features and are short, so most have a certain charm. Some use their looks as a weapon to curry favor with other races or commit crimes. Acting that way can bring short-term benefits but makes other half-foots look bad in the long run, so Chilchuck hates it.

Idea I had for a Dungeon Meshi swap AU
(Farcille and Chilaios fans why are we yet to make a swap AU where Laios x Chilchuck and Falin x Marcille swap.)
(P.S I only recently got into dungeon meshi like a month ago + I’m going off the anime and a bit of character facts from the manga so beware I might get some stuff wrong 💔)
Recently I’ve been cooking up (pun intended) this idea for a swap AU, ofc I love when ppl swap Falin and laios’s places but I wish they’d swap more characters and their stories, so it got me thinking about different possibilities.
what if Chilchuck and Laios were the ones that met in Magic school and become good friends? (for the sake of the AU let’s just say half foots live a bit longer so they age more similarly to humans). Chilchuck learned magic cause he didn’t want to be seen as weak or greedy for his race, which led him to getting miraculously accepted into a prestigious College for magic (which leads him to later learn Dark magic). It’s not his fault he befriended the “weirdo” human boy from said school and now has to save him (he’s worried sick he’s just emotionally constipated as hell).
Along with all this, after being saved from that spirit as a child, Laios realizes he has a love for monsters and what not; which later leads to his love for magic. When hes able to work with his little sister in their group as a Cleric, he was super excited to travel with friends and see all the monsters they come across, it’s too bad he ends up getting munched on by the red dragon.
Meanwhile Marcille is a half Elf for hire who was never able to master magic; And since elf’s aren’t known for their physical strength, she learned to disarm and detect traps. Ofc she probably had trouble with business because of this, but Falin and Laios found her situation super intriguing and hired her almost instantly.
Finally theres Falin, maybe after saving laios from that spirit as a child she realized she enjoyed combat and instead of going on to do magic she instead took a similar path as Canon laios and left home around 12 and later became the leader of their group. Of course while shes much more “mature” than Laios and is better at picking up social cues, she still has that weird fascination with eating monsters; she’s just way less extreme about it (guess it runs in the family).
Senshi could probably stay the same, but I could see him and namari swapping places (still deciding)
Some other roles that would be swapped (there’s more but I’m too lazy to list all of them):
Shuro <—> Maizuru
Kabru <—> Rin
Izutsumi <—> Kuro
dandan <—> Mickbell
(Note I’ll most likely make Farcille and Chilaios canon in this AU)
In this AU Marcille and Falin would actually get to develop their relationship some more and I think it’d be rlly fun for them to have this kinda awkward little Romance, like “hey ik your brother (and our friend) is getting digested rn but you’re rlly cute…”
Meanwhile Chilchuck is annoyed cause his best friend could possibly not be saved and die if they don’t hurry up and stop worrying about eating monsters and forming relationships (as he totally pushes down his feelings for Laios).
I really need to draw something for this AU, I think it’d be rlly fun.
Anyways hope y’all enjoyed my stupid little idea ramble.
#chilaios#farcille#dungeon meshi#delicious in dungeon#chilchuk tims#laios touden#marcille donato#falin touden#swap au#dungeon meshi swap AU#AU#I was sitting down a few days ago and was like “okay but what if I made like a full on swap AU with swapped character stories n everything#they are all gay#why? because i said so#Chilchuck is struggling with his emotions in this AU it’s lowkey rlly embarrassing#Falin and Marcille can’t relate#they are having a cute slowburn#with a dash of an older brother getting digested by a dragon#as a treat#Chilchuck learns Dark magic#what the hell Chilchuck for a man?#where’s Chilchucks wife?#probably dead#or she ran off with another woman#slay I’d leave chilchuck to

A Rainy Day in the Dungeon | Laios x Fem!Reader
REUPLOAD FROM 2024!!
Desc: You and Laios are exploring the area surrounding your camp until you two are interrupted by a sudden change in weather and pretty red flowers.
Genre: Smut, Sex Pollen
Warning(s): NSFW
Character(s): Laios Touden, Senshi, Marcille Donato
It was the scariest thing you’ve ever seen.
With the body of a lion, tail of a scorpion, and face similar to a human’s, there was no doubt that this was a manticore.
You had prayed that you would never see one of these in real life, but here you were, standing right in front of one.
You grimace as you watch it bare its needle-like teeth, drool seeping from its mouth. There was no way in hell that you were getting anywhere near that thing.
“Laios! What are we going to do?” you cry, turning your head to face the dusty blond man standing next to you.
Instead of a look of terror painting his face, his face had an expression of pure, unbridled joy.
“I’ll kill it in a moment,” he says, looking at you with a grin. “But look at it! It’s a manticore! So magnificent. They’re rare in this kind of environment, but with everything going on, it’s no surprise it got displaced. Poor thing…”
“What the hell do you mean by ‘poor thing’?” you sigh. “That thing is going to eat us alive and leave NOTHING but BONES.”
He lets out a light chuckle and draws his sword. “Yes, but it’s kind of cute. Anyway, I’m sure it will taste great barbequed. But it would be too much work taking it back.”
You nod and watch as he sprints towards the beast, sword shining under the sunlight.
Laios had said that he wanted to check out the places near your camp, and you decided to tag along, for the sake of entertainment. For once, it seemed like you all had free time and weren’t being hunted down by vicious monsters- spare the one that just appeared. Marcille was finally relaxed and practicing her spells, Chilchuck was chugging down some leftover wine, and both Senshi and Isutzumi were taking a nap.
Your party was an interesting one with many different personalities, but you were glad that you joined. Your specialty was combat, as you had trained as a fighter for the majority of your life. You usually stuck with Isutzumi, since she also specialized in combat. Plus your personalities were similar.
But today, you decided to take the gamble and spend time with Laios. You never had anything against him. Sure, he struggled with social cues every now and then, but that was pretty normal. Learning about monsters was always entertaining with him, especially when he got really passionate and started making wild hand movements.
You and Laios have known each other for a while, through Namari. Before she left the party, the three of you often spent time together, along with Falin, Shuro, and Marcille. It occasionally makes you sad, thinking about how everything fell apart after Falin’s.. Incident.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a loud groan, and you look up to see Laios putting his sword back into its sheath.
The Manticore is lying in a crimson puddle on the ground, tongue hanging out of its mouth.
“All done!” Laios exclaims, stepping back from the massive corpse. “I wish we could bring some back with us, but we already have leftovers. Maybe another day.”
“Good job,” you say, moving forward. “Let’s check out some more places and then head back to base.”
Laios nods and jogs until he’s by your side.
“There are a lot of strange flowers and mushrooms here. I wonder if some are edible.”
Something that you’ve always found interesting about Laios is that he somehow finds a way to relate everything to food. One time, Marcille fell down a flight of stairs and Laios said it was because she wasn’t eating enough iron. Marcille then proceeded to yell at him for 20 minutes straight.
“You’re right,” you say, taking in all of the greenery. This place was honestly beautiful, and you might have enjoyed staying longer, if not for the Falin predicament. “This flower is extra pretty.”
You jog a few steps ahead of Laios and crouch down to pluck a fiery red flower. Its petals are shaped like jagged hearts, and it has a bright pink center.
Laios stoops down next to you and also plucks one. “It is pretty. I don’t look at botanical life often, but this is cool. Maybe we should bring some back to camp. It would lighten the mood a bit, I’m sure.”
You nod and smile lightly, plucking more from the ground until you have a small bouquet. “We’ll use a cup as a vase.”
As the two of you venture further and further away from the campsite, you see more interesting things. Laios points out some variants of walking mushrooms, and you listen to him talk about all of the monsters and creatures he’s ever encountered. Even though you were present for the majority of these encounters, it’s still fun to hear him talk about them with such joy in his voice.
Suddenly, you feel a wet drop on your forehead and tilt your head up to the sky. The once radiant sun is overshadowed by angry, gray clouds, and rain is starting to drizzle around you.
“It’s raining. We should start heading back to camp,” you say, pulling on Laios’ arm. “It looks like it’s going to get serious too.”
“Camp is too far,” he responds, holding his hand out and watching as tiny rain droplets accumulate in the lines of his palm. “It’s not too bad right now, but like you said, it looks like it’s going to get serious… we’re better off just finding a small cave nearby to settle into while we wait for it to stop.”
You hesitate for a moment and turn around. True, camp was far. You face Laios and nod, humming in agreement. “Let’s go then.”
You and him walk around for some time until coming across a rather large cave. You feel relief, knowing that your clothes won’t have to get any wetter. By now, the rain has gotten intense, and your clothes are practically soaked.
“In here!” you yell, pointing at the cave. “We’ll stay in here for the time being. I don’t think anything’s living in here.”
When you and Laios enter the cave, there’s barely any light flowing in, due to the grey, rainy sky that has overtaken the sunshine. Laios groans as he takes off his armor, throwing it onto the ground.
“My clothes are still a little dry,” he says, clearing his throat. “If I remember correctly, I have some matches in my pocket. We can get some sticks from in here since the ones outside will be wet.”
The two of you take some time to gather as many sticks and flammable material as you can, tossing your findings into a neat pile.
Laios strikes a match for a while before finally getting it to ignite. He tosses it into the medium-sized pile the two of you made, which consists of sticks and dried moss.
You sit down on the ground, happy that it’s dry. You run your fingers along the smooth cave floor, feeling a sense of serenity as you listen to the raindrops hit the outside of the cave.
“The flowers are a little damaged from the rain. Should I shake the water off, or add it to the fire?”
Laios turns his head to face you and shrugs. “Burn them. We’ll pick up fresh ones on the way back.”
You nod and toss them in the fire, watching the flames rise, rejuvenated by the new fuel.
Laios plops down next to you, having finished laying out his armor and sword in a straight line near the entrance of the cave.
“Let’s hope it lets up soon,” he says, turning and nodding to the intense rainstorm occurring right outside your shelter. “It would be bad if the others worried too much.”
You hum in agreement but are caught off guard by a sudden sickly sweet scent permeating the air.
“Do you.. Smell that?” Laios asks, sniffing and looking around. “Is it from the flowers?”
You gaze into the fire, watching as the flowers burn away, black surrounding their petal edges until they're eventually nothing. Only, it’s not nothing..
As the flowers burn, they seem to dispel an almost transparent hazy red dust.
“Yeah. I think it’s.. pollen.. or something.” Maybe it produces it as some sort of defense mechanism?”
The scent doesn’t last long, and after a few coughs and sneezes, the normal, damp scent of the cave is back.
The two of you spend some time talking about random topics, and he's in the middle of telling you about the origin of his dog impression when you start to feel dizzy.
You turn to face Laios with hooded eyes and before you can even say anything, a sudden weakness overcomes you and you fall into his lap.
“Woah!” he yelps, arms shooting up. “A-Are you alright there, Y/N? You scared me!”
He puts his hands on your shoulders to prop you up, resting you against the cave wall.
“What’s going on? Talk to me.”
“I’m just… dizzy.. Is all,” you slur, reaching for the bottom of your shirt. “And… hot.. so.. Hot.”
Laios watches with wide eyes as you slowly lift your shirt over your head, a dust of blush coating his face. “W-woah! Hey, uh, Y/N, You should p-probably put that back on. You’ll catch cold that way,” he rambles, looking at everything but you and making wild gestures with his hands. “Sickness is bad. Very bad. Like seriously, one time I was sick and-”
“Laios,” you interrupt, tossing your shirt to the side, “I want you to look at me.”
You don’t know what came over you, but for some reason, you were feeling a lot bolder than usual.
He stares at you with wide eyes, brown irises darting from your face to your chest, and then eventually to the floor.
“I-um,” he stutters, cupping his forehead in his palm. “I’m starting.. To feel dizzy too. It’s not food poisoning, so it must be something else.”
He leans against the cave wall next to you and you turn your head to face him. His face is a light shade of pink, eyes sleepy and glossy.
He turns to meet your eyes, smiling lightly. “What’re you looking at?”
You break eye contact and look down at his hands instead. “You.. you just look good is all.”
There’s silence for a minute, and you curse yourself internally for saying something like that out loud.
“You.. look good too,” he says, scooching a little closer to you. “And I don’t know if it’s because I’m cold and wet, but I…”
He sighs. “I want to be closer to you. May I?”
You hesitantly nod, watching as he moves closer and closer until your thighs are touching.
“Is this close enough?” you ask, looking up at him.
There’s an indescribable feeling in your lower body as you watch Laios’s gold-brown eyes look down at you. He looks down at you a lot due to your height difference, but this time it feels different. It’s a feeling that can be described as both good AND bad: good in the sense that you feel like you’re the most confident woman in the world, and bad in the sense that there’s a pressure building up and you feel like you’re going to explode at any given moment.
He pauses for a minute, staring into your eyes and then allowing his gaze to trail down to your lips.
Suddenly, he places a thumb under your chin, tilting your face up and turning it so that you’re looking at him completely.
“A little closer,” he whispers, as you watch a mysterious glint of something swim around in his eyes. “I- Can I.. kiss you?”
Your eyes widen in shock, and all you can manage to say is something along the lines of “yeah-huh”.
Laios closes the distance between both of your lips, and you moan into the kiss, turning so that your entire body faces him. It’s the kind of kiss that’s soul-shattering, The kind that you haven’t had in a very long time.
He moves his hand and trails it down your body, starting from your neck and ending at your waist, eliciting a shiver from you as you feel his warm skin graze against yours. He places his other hand in your hair, pulling away from your lips so he can analyze your face.
“Was.. that good?”
“Mm-hm.”
He leans down and kisses you again, letting his lips slowly and tenderly press against yours. As you prop yourself up a bit so that your arms are comfortably wrapped around his neck, he slowly allows his other hand to land on your waist.
He goes from giving you gentle pecks to crushing your lips together, occasionally taking a soft bite of your bottom lip. He pulls your body even closer to his, trailing a hand down your lower back.
After what seems like an eternity of tasting each other, the two of you pull away and take a moment to stare into each other’s eyes. His hair is messy, his face is flushed, and he’s breathing heavily.
“Laios,” you breathe, nestling your fingers into his soft hair. “I need you.”
He nods and directs your body so that it straddles his hips.
He lets out a small whimper and leans his head back so that it rests on the cave wall. You feel a large bulge resting under you, signifying his eagerness.
You move your face closer to the crook of his neck and start kissing it gently, giggling softly as he makes a noise that can only be described as a cross between a chuckle and a moan. You start to grind slowly, relishing the small moans and whimpers that escape his lips. His grip on your waist tightens as you start gently sucking on his neck, your little giggles causing vibrations against his skin.
The rain outside is getting increasingly intense, and thunder is clapping at a more frequent rate.
“Y..Y/N please,” Laios croaks, his words melting into a loud moan as you start sucking harder.
“Please what?” you ask playfully, not moving too far from his neck so that he can still feel your warm breath.
He moves his hands lower and bucks his hips in a desperate search for more friction.
“Please,” he begs. “Please let me inside you.”
You remove your head from his neck and get off of him.
“Lift your arms.”
He does as you instruct, and you lift his shirt over his head, smiling at the sight of his even messier hair.
How cute.
He moans softly as he watches you pull his pants down his thighs, stopping when you reach his ankles.
You look down at his lower half, eyes widening upon seeing the large bulge he’s developed throughout your time together.
Placing your palm on it, you rub gently as he starts to buck his hips, desperate for friction once again. You trace the outline with your finger, putting extra emphasis on teasing the head.
You reach up and pull his boxers down, watching as his cock springs out, throbbing and leaking precum.
It twitches for a second before you grab the base and position your lips right above the tip, engulfing the whole thing in the wet heat of your mouth.
Laios lets out a large cry, and his thighs tense up.
“Fuck.. Oh shit, Y/N.. It feels so.. Mmph,” he moans, reaching a hand down into your hair.
You pull back, placing your attention on the tip as your tongue swirls around and dips into the slit.
Laios gasps as you graze your tongue over the bottom of the tip, the grip on your hair tightening.
You lick up and down the base fervently, making sure to reach every vein. You reach your hand down between your legs and start to relieve some tension, rubbing gently against your pants.
“I’m- I think I- fuck.. I think I’m gonna,” he struggles to get the phrase out as he pushes your head down towards his hips, making his cock hit the back of your throat. You gasp loudly, but pull your head away from his throbbing member, creating a loud ‘pop’ sound that echoes through the cave.
“Not yet,” you smile as he releases his grip on your hair. “You’re not done yet.”
He’s about to say something back, but he's cut short by you shimmying both your pants and panties down your legs. You observe his face as you position yourself above him, watching as he bites his lip while you sink into him.
The both of you let out a lewd gasp, and he grabs ahold of your waist again.
You moan as you feel him stretching you, the entirety of his length filling you.
It’s only when he’s fully inside of you that you let out an exhale.
“How’s that feel?” he whispers in a raspy voice.
You hum in contentment as you rest your hands on his warm, soft chest, digging your head into the crook of his neck once again. You take a deep breath, cherishing the tranquility of being so close to him. You inhale his scent, a wave of comfort washing over you. He has a light clean smell, mixed with an intoxicating musk.
He hugs you tightly, positioning his hands on the small of your back.
“Just let me take it from here, okay?” he says, moving a hand up to affectionately stroke your hair before reverting it to its original position.
He starts with slow, passionate thrusts, eliciting soft moans and whines from you.
As his hands travel up and down your back, he sucks on the skin of your shoulder gently, nipping hard enough to the point where you feel a little bit of pain, but not too hard to the point where it’s overwhelming.
“Mm~ Laios..”
“You like that?” he chuckles, his warm breath and the vibration of his voice drawing a soft whimper out of you.
“Mmhm.”
He laughs lowly as his grip on you tightens. “Good girl.”
Before you can react, he starts to pound into you with so much force that you can’t do anything but dig your nails into his chest and scream his name.
The sound of the heavy rain outside combined with the sound of slapping skin creates a kind of harmony, one that can only be described with words such as ‘passionate’ and ‘desperate’.
As he snaps his hips back and forth into you, you trail your hand up his chest, pulling his head closer to you. There’s a warm pool forming in your lower abdomen as you pull him in for a kiss. The two of you devour each other, each movement greedier than the last. You guide your other hand down your chest and to the space between your legs, working to stimulate the throbbing bundle of nerves that rests at the apex of your pussy.
Laios releases one hand from your lower back and places it in your hair, tangling it as his tongue explores every inch of your mouth.
He pulls your head back, prompting the both of you to open your eyes and look at each other. His eyes are clouded over with an intense lust, skin warm and beyond flushed.
“I want you to cum for me,” he breathes, refusing to break eye contact. By now, his pace has slowed down, and he’s focusing on your face. “All over my cock. Can you do that, baby?”
You respond by whining softly, and he pulls you into another kiss, this one seeming to steal the very air from your lungs.
He resumes his brutal pace as you desperately rub at your swollen clit, only pulling away from his lips to catch your breath.
The heat pooling in your lower abdomen spreads to the rest of your body, and you feel a tingly, prickly sensation, signifying your upcoming climax.
“Lai-os,” you cry, moving your hand up to tug at his hair. “I’m- fuck- I’m gonna cum..”
He lets out a low chuckle and presses your foreheads together, staring right into your E/C eyes. “I want to see everything. Cum for me, Y/N.”
The circular movements you’re making on your clit are getting progressively messier, and you can hardly keep up with Laios’s pace anymore. As the muscles in your body tense up, you let out a loud cry, feeling as though you’re dissolving in a pool of pleasure, waves of heat and ecstasy washing over you. You gasp softly and your body goes limp, drowsiness mixing with your climax.
Laios slows his pace, allowing you to fully ride out your orgasm, delighting in your involuntary jerks and contractions.
Soon enough, his thrusts become sloppy, and his breathing gets heavier. “F-fuck Y/N,” he groans, squeezing his eyes shut and tightening his grip on both your hair and lower back. “You feel so-”
His words are interrupted by a loud, throaty moan as he thrusts into you one final time, filling you with all of his cum.
“-good.”
The both of you are a panting mess, strands of damp hair sticking to your foreheads. He pulls you in for another kiss, this time a tender and appreciative one.
You giggle softly against his lips and allow yourself to get lost in his taste. As you pull away and nuzzle your face into the crook of his neck, Laios hugs you tightly. The fire crackles in the background, and you can’t be any more content as you drift asleep.
—
As you put on your shirt, you take a look outside and sigh in relief, seeing that the rain has finally subdued.
“We can get headed to camp now,” you say, watching as Laios adjusts his armor’s gorget.
“About time,” he laughs, kicking dirt over the fire to extinguish it.
It’s roughly late afternoon by now, so the sky has gotten slightly darker, though it is still tainted by the gray storm clouds.
As you and Laios make your way back to camp, you take notice of the red flowers again.
“Wait!” you exclaim as you crouch down near them. “How many should we bring to camp?”
Laios looks down at you and squints his eyes. “Maybe.. We shouldn’t do that.”
“Why not?”
“It’s just that..” he hesitates. “..I don’t know, but what happened in the cave..wouldn’t happen under normal circumstances, I don’t think.”
You mutter a low “huh?” and rise to your feet. “What do you mean?”
Laios scratches the back of his head and smiles sheepishly. “I’m saying that I would never be that bold normally. The only time I’ve ever been like that was when alcohol was involved. Do you remember how you got dizzy after we burned the flowers?”
You nod.
“I got dizzy too. And.. we know what happened after that,” he says, clearing his throat. “It’s just kind of suspicious. I’m not saying that the flowers secrete some kind of alcoholic pollen when burned, but notice how everything happened after we inhaled the dust.”
You gasp and nod fervently. “You’re right! Wait, Senshi has a lot of knowledge about dungeon wildlife and greenery. Should we ask him about it?”
Laios mumbles a low ‘uh-huh’ and kneels down to pick up a flower.
When the two of you return to camp, the rest of the party is huddled around a fire, eating leftover dumplings.
“Laios! Y/N! Where the heck have you two been?” Marcille exclaims, jumping to her feet and running up to you. “We were starting to get worried!”
“The rain just made it hard to get back to camp since we were so far away. We just settled in a cave until it let up,” you chuckle, waving your hands in an attempt to calm Marcille down.
She puts a relieved hand on her chest and exhales.
“That’s good.”
Her eyes shift over to the fiery red flower that Laios is clutching. “What is that?”
“Oh, this is something for Senshi.. Y/N and I have to speak to him about it. Privately.”
Marcille nods slowly and squints her eyes in suspicion. “O..kay.”
After the two of you eat your share of dumplings and engage in varying conversations with the others, everyone, except for you, Laios, and Senshi, retire to their sleeping bags.
“What is it you wanted to show me?” Senshi asks, eyes darting between you and Laios.
Laios pulls the flower out of his gorget and hands it to Senshi. “This. What can you tell us about it?”
Senshi grunts and inspects the flower closely.
“This is an Aphrodalia,” he says, gently touching the petals. “I’ve only seen them three or four times in my lifetime, but I’ve heard about them serving as an aphrodisiac.”
Laios cocks his head to the left and raises an eyebrow. “Aphrodisiac?”
Senshi nods. “Mhm. It has an arousing effect on those who inhale its pollen. Normally, they don’t produce lots of pollen, but when they’re exposed to extreme heat, it’s a different story. It’s highly advised that travelers don’t burn them, because combustion results in them releasing immense amounts of pollen. In the cases I’ve heard of, nothing too bad has happened.”
He tosses it to the ground and shrugs. “But it’s better to stay away. These little red beauties bring out the innermost erotic thoughts of anyone who inhales its pollen..”
“..Don’t pick them up again.”
You and Laios nod, now understanding the true nature of these flowers.
After he teaches you two about the Aphrodalia, Senshi pardons himself so he can go to sleep.
Before you can do the same, you and Laios strike a deal.
“Promise to never talk about what happened in that cave,” you say, extending a hand to him. “And promise to never experiment with random flowers again.”
He grabs your hard with a firm grip and shakes it.
“Deal.”
And with that, your eventful afternoon caused by a small, red flower became a secret that neither you nor Laios would ever forget.
Thank you so much for reading!! <3

dunmeshi and sbi!fault :DD
I did briefly consider writing a normal sbi crossover cause ohhh my God it would be good. Honestly Laios did bleed into my Techno in Worth far more than your weight in gold cause Techno also gets into that hyperfixation on creature details (although in a lot more 'to kill them better' way). They are ON that grindset. Although polar opposites on Techno 'eating the same potato recipie for 12 months' vs laios 'new dish every meal'. The Blade is such a lazy cook see: cooking headcanons. Laios would openly speculate on how his meat differs from actual pork. And Wilbur would start explaining the flavor profile/texture difference very accurately to everyone's fascination/horror. The Blade also straight up doesn't know Chilchuck is part of the party because he's so tiny he's like 100% in The Blade's blind spot. Like yeah he can smell and hear him but he just keeps forgetting Chilchuck exists. Also confused that the orphan meter isn't pinging but whatever. Marcille constantly bribes him to get access to his long luxurious mane. Senshi is cool with him bc he's familiar with orcs.
I think Senshi and Philza share one brain cell in that regard. Agressively taking care of everyone else. Cause you cannot tell me Philza hasn't seen so so so many people starve to death in famines...not so much worried about cannibalism. Also. Technically Philza isn't in the mental place for more adoption (read: he's mentally stable rn), but it would be soooo funny if he looked at Chilchuck and was like. Another child? Baby? But that's mostly because I love tormenting Chilchuck so very very much. Probably radiating disappointment the second he finds out Chilchuck is not really in his kids life that much currently due to the adventure. Appreciates Marcille's fireballs and black magic. Philza cannot distinguish between Izutsumi and 14 yo Wilbur that's just the same kid.
Wilbur ADORES all the food omg yes this is fantastic. And Marcille is cringing as it eats increasingly inedible dishes and sarcastically teasing her for not eating it. But Wilbur CANNOT handle Laios 'man I wish I was a monster' like he just can't he will punch Laios if he tries that. Him and Izutsumi have the nastiest kvetching sessions it's fantastic. Instant bonding over being distrusting brats that are desperate to be human. Cannot fathom the picky eater thing. Likes how paranoid Chilchuck is, although Chilchuck is convinced a mimic is going to pop out of its head at any time.
Tommy gets even worse dish duty than normal, but these crazy adventurers like. Are really amazed about his power? About how it can be used to sanitize stuff?? Like passionately going on about the health implications and Tommy is just staring at his hands as a wholesome anime monologue is happening in the background while he's having flashbacks to murder. [Marcille and Tommy would be most insufferable duo imaginable. I think they’d constantly butt heads given how bossy yet insecure both of them are. Tommy would eat mud in front of her and Marcille would have an aneurism. And he’d blow a fuse about her thinking he’s essentially a toddler by elf standards. however. Tommy would be extremely encouraging of her explosion magic to a degree that would cause structural damage to the dungeon.] Tries to show off and impress Izutsumi because GIRL!!1! And is very cringefail about it, she and Wilbur team up to bully him. He thinks Senshi is weird and groans about having two Philzas. Constantly riling Chilchuck up about his height.
Tubbo is like thank God normal people who aren't crazy murderers at first. And then decides they're all weirdos but not Problematic to the degree of Fault crew peoples. Thinks Marcille's magic is freaking awesome, and helps her control her meat dragon homunculous guys a lot better. Grand/kid talking with Chilchuck. uhhh ngl having trouble with Tubbo for some reason lol.
Also. On a very big note I think the world building re: monsters could lead to massive angst and tension between the groups. Especially with things like Laios crossing lines on 'humanoid monsters' as food. Like the entire group is constantly talking about eating monsters, and for the Fault crew that's very dehumanizing, racist, offensive, traumatizing, etc. Very high chance they end of fighting each other, however, the funny dynamic trumps all so that's what I went with.

Izutsumi’s journey to freedom
When we were first introduced to Izutsumi she was one of the many retainers of Toshiro’s father who want by the alias Asebi. She was part of the rescue mission organized by Toshiro to save Falin. She was essentially a hidden face in the crowd who vanished when Chimera Falin attacked. Toshiro thought nothing of it and decided to leave her since she could comeback on her own. What he didn’t realize however she stayed behind so that she could get Marcille to remove both curses on her. One placed by Maizuru in an ill attempt at discipline and another placed by some dark magic user who made her into a Beastkin. She hoped that since Marcille knew black magic and was indirectly responsible for Falin’s beastly transformation, she figured she could do the opposite and make her into a full human.
Izutsumi was mistaken that Marcille would do that for her since separating two souls from one body is not something she was capable of doing. The party didn’t know if they were capable of even doing so for Falin as their main drive was to free her from the Mad Mage’s control. Laios had hope that it could really happen since Izutsumi was capable of human behavior in spite of her Beastkin nature. Laios, Marcille, Chilchuck and Senshi decided to invite her into their party since they figure there might be a spell in the Mad Mage’s tome that might remove the Beast soul out of her.
As difficult as Izutsumi was to the others the party chose the firm but gentle approach to discipline.
Overtime she became a better person because of their teachings and influence.
Spoiler Alert for anime only fans:

When the dungeon got destroyed and Laios became king, Izutsumi realized at that point her journey was over and that means she’s now free to do whatever she wanted. Problem was that she doesn’t know what to do with herself with her newfound freedom.
She realized she’s now responsible for herself since the rest of the party have new goals and responsibilities to worry about.
Because of the journey she chose to go on with the party, Izutsumi became wiser and more clearer on her goals. Because of that wisdom she was able to help Laios come to terms with becoming the new king and all the burdens with it comes with the role.

Izutsumi realizes that freedom means to make choices and being able to live with them.
