Hey do you think Dream like to show off Cori? I mean he is creator and most of creator love to see their work get appreciated but maybe just Dreamer scared Cori is enough for his ego?

I don’t necessarily see Dream as one to really fall prey to ego. He’s definitely proud, and possessive, but I think he sees the Corinthian’s very existence as showing him off. To display him any further undermines, implies Dream could improve by an edit, that there is a need to persuade another to appreciate him and all that does is suggest a deficit.

The Corinthian is the display; a walking line of poetry, an art exhibit, he needs no additions and if you cannot see how perfect he is, well, that’s your fault.

Dream just doesn’t think any extra trappings are needed, the artistry is there already, and he will not show the Corinthian off as if he considers his nightmare subject to the judgement of another’s eyes. Dream submits his work for the approval of no one. I do think it is enough that the Corinthian scares the Dreamers! He created the Corinthian to reflect part of humanity, their darkness and their pain, to give voice to it, and that is a solemn, dutiful thing as much as it is a joyful one. 

That said…

If someone made the mistake of saying ‘wow what a shit creation’ Dream would be like how dare you actually, what the fuck are you saying this is my creation (this is humanity’s shy commission, their souls, their darkness, what they hide and bury so deep in uncertainty and vulnerability, and Dream gave it form with such bold confidence because there should be no shame) 

It’s a personal slight, it’s one far deeper; one against every Dreamer that needs the Corinthian, now jeered at too, belittled, all that have been helped by him caught in that disdain.

How wrong that is, how cruel, to insult both a wound and the salve offered to soothe it.

No but the Hunger Games really said "what do you hate more- the atrocities or the people who commit them against you? Because like it or not there IS a difference. If you hate the people who commit acts of pure evil more than you hate the acts themselves, what will stop you from becoming just like your enemies in your pursuit of justice? What will keep you from commiting those very same acts against THEM when the opportunity arises? And what then? The cycle of pain and suffering will never stop. Round and round it'll go. Nothing will ever change. But. BUT. If you hate the atrocities. If you hate the vile, senseless acts MORE than you hate the people who did them to you. If you are able to see that evil is evil regardless of who does it... The cycle ends with you. No, you may never get justice. But you will never be responsible for making others, even your enemies, suffer the same crimes you have. The atrocities will never be committed by you, never by your hand. And that's the way you change the world. It's the ONLY way" and that's why I am sure it will never stop being one of the most relevant works of fiction ever created
