“Huh?” Kon asks, wrinkling his nose in confusion. Cassie lunges at Bart and yanks him behind herself, presumably to hide the fact she’s clamped a hand over his mouth. 

“Nothing!” she says brightly. “Absolutely nothing! Done with your texting? All good there?” 

“Oh, yeah. Wasn’t a big thing or anything,” Kon says, pushing his sunglasses up into his hair with a shrug. He’s wearing metallic silver eyeliner. Just a little bit of it, but a noticeable bit of it. Like–a bit. That can be noticed. Noticeably. 

. . . noticeably. 

Tim’s brain is definitely not brainable again yet, yeah. 

Cassie makes a strangled noise as Bart phases out of her grip with an annoyed expression that she seems oblivious to, then squints at Kon again. He and Suzie both continue to look very surprised about either what Kon’s wearing or their own reactions to what Kon’s wearing. Cissie just eyes him doubtfully, leaning forward over the table a little bit as she folds her arms on top of it. 

“So like, were we fighting crime on the beach today or did you just decide to rebrand as Power Boy?” she asks with a dry expression, raising a skeptical eyebrow at him. Cassie gives her a murderous look and Kon–hesitates, briefly, just the slightest flicker of self-consciousness crossing the back of his eyes, and Tim’s brain figures out how to work again after all. 

“Arrowette, with all due respect, you literally fight crime wearing less than that,” he reminds her wryly, pretending not to notice the hint of tension that leaves Kon’s shoulders as he says it. “And you’re not invulnerable or solar-powered.” 

“Listen, this getup was not my design,” Cissie says, pointing accusingly at herself. “This is actually an improvement on my mom’s version, in fact, so don’t judge, I’m doing my best here.” 

“Your best could possibly involve more body armor,” Tim mentions, perfectly neutral and objective about it. She gives him a dubious look. 

“Oh, is that why the Robin suit comes in primary colors with T-shirt sleeves and no knee or elbow pads?” she asks with an unimpressed snort. Tim decides not to get into the whole “I need to look enough like an innocent kid that Batman doesn’t forget I technically and legally am one and start getting a little too vicious on the job again” thing. Seems like a bad idea and all. 

She does have a point about at least the pads, admittedly. A hypocritical point, but a point. He could probably look into those. 

“So is this your new costume?” Suzie asks curiously, floating over to circle Kon and peer curiously at his outfit. “Oh! You got a new earring, too! It’s cute!” 

“Um–thanks,” Kon replies stiffly, still looking just barely self-conscious as he gives the sapphire stud a reflexive little tug, and then visibly puffs himself back up and shrugs again, tucking his hands into his jacket pockets. “Naw, not a new costume, just the one I was wearing today got kinda shredded and it was my last clean one, so it was this or do laundry and be, like, even later than I was already gonna be.” 

Tim is perfectly aware that Kon owns much less revealing clothing than the clothing that he is currently wearing, but a) Robin is not aware of that and b) Tim Drake is neither a snitch nor ungrateful for the gifts that the world gives him.

As a result, she's a stranger to lost the townsfolk

Maru: would be an anxious wreck if she weren't medicated. Tried to get close to her half-brother all the time as a kid, but slowly stopped as he kept pushing her away. She does wish they could connect, though she doesn't know how or where to start. She enjoys working with Harvey, but outside work she can't really stand him. Would call him a weenie if she used that sort of language

Haley: is materialistic because that's how her parents spoiled her to hide their not-that-great parenting. Secretly she wishes she wasn't like that, but feels she can't truly change it. Besides, she occasionally gets pretty clothes from her parents and she can't not wear them, even if only once. Even if they are the wrong size, which they usually are. Forced by her mother to take flute lessons at first, but ended up enjoying them. If she crosses paths with the Farmer heading to the mines, she wants to join. Even if the monsters do scare her. Once she dyed her hair purple, not only did it not fade, nothing else sticks. Even stripping the color has it come back the next morning

Penny: wants a large family with someone loyal to her so she can raise her kids right, not the way she was raised. An excellent teacher for young kids, the main thing holding her back from being properly educated and certified to teach is her mother's drinking habits. She wishes she lived somewhere she could feel pride, but instead has the short stick and has to make do. She took up reading to get away from her negligent father and later abusive mother. Educating others was the next step in her mind, and she's doing what she can with what she has. The war doesn't make getting new textbooks easy, however

Sam: does not know how to act now that his dad is back. He's been Man of the House for so long, and now he's not. Focused on making a band and his guitar to compensate. Is actually good at composing music, but his aimless wandering for band type and music keeps him from getting anywhere. He ends up making music for kid's shows because he gets some variety, at least. Is aware that Vincent looks up to him and tries to be a good role model. Barring the skateboarding. He's toned it down a lot since his brother was born, but he's not above stunts

Sebastian: pushed his half-sister away first out of anger that him mom remarried, then because she's a girl and cooties, and now doesn't know how to fix the rift. Has depression, but it shows as isolation. He's seen how Shane gets and does not want to be like that. Better to stay in his room all day. A natural night owl, he chafes at daytime hours. His mom doesn't understand, and his step-father certainly won't. Speaking of, the two only interact as necessary. Sebby does not like him, and made it clear as a kid, pushing him away like he did Maru. This rift he feels is far too late to fix, and doesn't care (he claims) to fix it

Elliott: he has fallen for Leah, but won't admit it. Not after hearing about her ex and how they affected her. While he loves the idea of being the knight in shining armor rescuing her, he's too shy to do so. Even so, he is striking up a friendship with her because her sculptures are beautiful to him, and give him ideas for his novel. He does wish he could buy one, though. Or be gifted one. Is close to Willy as well. Proximity helps, but he's also fascinated by the stories the fisher has to tell. Even if some have been repeated and exaggerated over retellings

Harvey: actually had a hard time keeping up with a lot of stuff in his clinic until he hired Maru. He knows she's the reason the place stays afloat, and does all he can to keep her. In a professional manner, he loves her. In a personal manner, he has respect for her, but does not see her as a potential romantic interest. Has a late girlfriend who died from an incurable disease back in high school, motivating him to become a doctor after his fear of heights and bad eyes kept him from aviation. He won't ever admit it, but he's happy where he's at. Even if his diet is shit. Takes pride in his 'stashe

Shane: despite being Jas' godfather, he forgets about her a lot, especially when drunk. Losing his friends aka her parents, an injury keeping him from remaining in sports, and losing his dreams turned him to drinking to cope, and now he's in a rut he can't get out of. Not without help, anyway. Marnie is worried about him, and also concerned as to how he got her white and brown chickens to start popping out blue ones. What's next, pink chickens??? Constantly has stubble because the doesn't remember to shave. Or he does but since he uses an electric razor, forgets to plug it in, turn it on, or otherwise have it operate

Alex: knows he washed up, won't admit to it. Sims 4 Valicer Outfit Fun III -- Dark Academic Crystals Edition!

Time for another "I've been fucking around in CAS making outfits for Victor, Alice, and Smiler" lookbook post! This time focusing on outfits created in response to me getting the Crystal Creations stuff pack recently! So, without further ado --

This is Victor in the outfit I most wanted to put him in ever since I saw the previews for the clothing you got with Crystal Creations – that vest and shirt combo is PERFECT for a slightly more casual Victor. :) The black pants aren’t bad either, and I rather like the little boots. Another Valicer In The Dark look, I think!

While normally I’m all about the blue with Alice, I really liked the forest-green swatch for this particular dress, so here it is. :) It’s a very pretty outfit (though looking at it, I can understand why some people were like “some of these clothes look like they should have been part of Realm Of Magic”), and I like it in combination with the patterned tights, and the other new set of boots.

Back to traditional blue swatches with Alice here – I had to try this dress on for size as well, and I think it looks pretty on her. Though I suspect this is something I’d be more likely to give a “teen” Alice over a “young adult” one... Maybe if I ever do that save file where I have Alice, Victor, Victoria, Emily, and Smiler all grow up together. :p As I had this outfit replace one of her formals (hence the fancy necklace and bright white stockings), I decided to pair it with the fancy crystalline shoes you get with the pack too – VERY cool-looking. :)

Okay, this is an amusing one – I was using Smiler to hunt down new clothes that I hadn’t clicked on yet from any pack, having thrown them in one of the comfy sweaters that you get from Crystal Creations (in the black swatch, because obviously it doesn’t have a good yellow one – dark academia is not know for its bold colors, after all) – and I stumbled across a pair of ripped leggings from Werewolves that I had apparently never properly clicked on. A pair of leggings –

That came in a “one yellow leg one black leg” swatch that was perfectly Smilerish! :D So yeah, I had to show them off – with a quick pair of mini-shorts thrown on to help hide Smiler’s, uh, bulge a bit better. XD But yeah, don’t those look very them? I’ll have to find a “real” outfit to use them in, instead of this monstrosity. :p

Here's Smiler in some real pants to make a proper outfit for them -- and honestly, I rather like the combination of the yellow slacks with the nice loose black sweater. :) Probably should have gone with black shoes over the yellow ones, but I was literally just messing around in CAS with all the new clothes I could find, so... Oh, and you may notice that Smiler's got something around their neck?

Yeah, it's the new double-strand necklace made in conjunction with Simmer arethabee! You see, I also used Smiler to clear out some of the stuff in the “head” section of CAS (including all the new hairstyles from all my new packs that I hadn’t looked at yet – let me tell you, Smiler does NOT look like themselves if they don’t have this specific weirdass haircut), which meant that Smiler got to be the one to show off this cute little necklace! I rather like it – and not just because it comes in Smiler-appropriate colors. XD It’s simple without being TOO simple, you know? And it does look like something Smiler might wear. Or Alice, come to think of it. I’ll have to play around with it a bit more.

Enjoy this handful of new looks! And be prepared for a few more in the future, because I also did some playing around in CAS in response to the SDX "new swimsuit stuff" drop last week on 5/14. XD First though, another Chill Valicer Save update -- see you then!
