Mid-Autumn was closely approaching District Four.
Harvest in the fishing industry was at its peak and the docks were chock-full with boats bringing in their plentiful catches. The town centre was a bustling scene, crowded with people selling produce and trading for food to bring home to their family's kitchen table.
Last year's autumn harvest was the same pictureâoverflow, hustle, commotion; chaos like this was something you never came to enjoy. So, it was also around this time last year that you had decided to set off in search of the perfect location away from the rest of society. A place where you could be at peace, where you could forget the disastrous world you lived in.
District Four was home to many popular beaches, but the one you discovered was uninhabited, isolated, found after an hour-or-so-long trek through overgrown dirt pathways and a thicket of sea-grape and palm trees. A true paradise away from society. Or so you had thought in the first few weeks.
You weren't too sure when he had started showing up or how he had even discovered the beach.
However, one evening, as you were seated in the sand watching the sunset on the darkening horizon, you noticed a dark figure diving and surfacing in the flat, glimmering water. Their movements were so poised and fluid like the ocean was something they had conquered. You guessed it to be a dolphin or shark because there was no way a human being could move so gracefully.
But then the figure started wading to shore, and the next thing you knew, they were standing on two legs and exiting the water. You knew then that you had guessed wrong. The sun behind him obscured the bronze of his hair and the swirling lukewarm sea that pooled around his pupils. All you could see was the outline of his tall broad figure as he hiked through the sand toward you.
Fear had told you to bolt from the approaching stranger. You were in the middle of nowhereâit was the perfect place to be murdered or kidnapped. But something else, some deep and tangible instinct, also told you to stay.
"Didn't realise I had a captive audience," thestranger spoke, droplets of gleaming water sliding off his body and into the sand as he stood a few feet away.
Taken by surprise, you fumbled over your words trying to form a sentence in response. "I wasn'tâI didn'tâ"
"Easy, honey," he chuckled. The sound was so warm and pleasant that it almost alleviated the slight chill in the air. "Just pulling your leg."
Your mouth formed a small circle. "Right," you said, gaze locked on the golden sand in embarrassment. "I, uh, didn't think anyone else knew about this place."
To be honest, you were pretty sure it was a restricted area. Probably the reason it was so isolated. If a Capitol official found you, the consequences would most likely involve your tongue, a scalpel, and a hell of a lot of pain. All for a wanting a little peace and quiet.
"Neither did I," the man said. "I only come every now and then. Need an escape from the constant buzz back home. Time for myself, you know?"
"Yeah." You smiled, feeling the stranger's words resonate in your soul. "Yeah, I do know."
You thought you saw the corners of his lips curve into a smile, but the shadows on his face were so prominent that you couldn't tell.
"Mind if I sit?" he asked.
Well... if he were going to murder you, he would have done it already. So, you nodded. Sometimes you questioned your survival instincts. Or lack thereof.
He didn't leave much space as he sat beside you. Only an inch or two, meaning you could feel the humidity of body heat and salt water emit from his skin. Even sitting down, he was still quite tall compared to you, but that wasn't what caused your heart to drop into your stomach.
The setting sun, which no longer disguised his face with shadows, now illuminated his entire figure and revealed his identity. His hair was a mess of wet wavy strands, the colour alight like a pale fire beneath the sun's orange radiance. His skin was sun-kissed, no doubt from days he had spent perfecting his swimming abilities. And those dimples... wow.
He was gorgeous. A man sculpted by the gods of beauty, just like everyone in Panem had depicted him to be. Even his sea-green eyes were as striking as everyone said.
Finnick Odair.
The man who was crowned victor of the sixty-fifth Hunger Games at fourteen. Who trapped multiple tributes at once in a net and killed them one by one with his famed trident. A killer.
The man whose reputation in the Capitol was known nationwide. A proud womanizer.
That was what everyone made him out to be.
Only, in the brief interaction you shared with him, he seemed like quite the opposite. He radiated effortless charm and warmth, but not in the arrogant way the media had portrayed him. Then again, did the media ever accurately portray the truth of anything?
It was then that you determined it didn't really matter who people said he was or what he had done. He was a human beingâjust like you. He deserved a chance.
His pink lips stretched into a knee-weakening smile; you were grateful that you were sitting down.
"I'm Finnick, by the way."
The both of you knew he didn't need to introduce himself. The whole of Panem knew his name and face. Though the fact that he humbly did so anyway made you like him the tiniest bit more.
You returned his smile with one of your own and introduced yourself.
Time passed and the sun had set; the moon had risen, but you both remained sitting side-by-side in the sand. Conversation flowed so naturally between the two of you that it was difficult for you to remember that stopping and getting some air into your lungs was an important factor in keeping a conversation going... as well as keeping you alive.
You told him about yourself as he did himselfâsome things that were meant to remain secrets, some things that seemed too strange to tell anyone else.
At some point, he had offered to walk you back to your house. The trek was over an hour long but neither of you seemed to care. The time flew by.Â
When you were standing at your front door and he was gazing up at you from the bottom of the steps, you both promised to meet again the next day. And you did.Â
As you did the day after that... and the day after that... and the day after that...
**********
As soon as the nights carried that familiar chill and the town congested with markets and fervent buyers, you knew mid-autumn had made its return. This meant most of your evenings were spent at a certain secret beach with a certain District Four victor.
Having already finished his pre-sunset swim, Finnick was sitting beside you, fingers weaving dried palm leaves into the mat beneath you. A couple of weeks after you had first met, he had shown up one day holding it all rolled up in hand.
"Made this for you to sit on," he had said with a proud smile. "Took nearly all night and earned me a few good finger cramps, but I think it was worth it."
Pinpointing the exact moment your attraction to him first formed was tricky. However, that gesture was one your mind returned to often. That little palm-leaf mat, the time and effort he put into making it, was scored on your heart.
Finnick was very much a gentleman.
He would always offer you a hand when standing up and whenever you walked back through the overgrown seaside forest. Sometimes he picked fruits for you such as sea grapes and mangos or would climb one of the palms and knock down a few coconuts. One thing he always, always did wasmake sure you got home safe; he never let you out of his sight until you were safe inside your front door.
All those gestures, big and small, added up. Soon enough, Finnick Odair had infiltrated your heart and consumed all your thoughts. You saw his sea-green eyes staring back at you whenever you gazed out at the ocean by your house. Felt the ghost of his hands on yours whenever you picked a grape from the kitchen fruit bowl. Heard his voice calling out your name in your most vivid of dreams.
But there was more to it than innocent adoration.
The guilt came when your gaze started lingering on his body a little too long whenever he left the water at the beach. Shimmering droplets would glide down his beautifully tanned skin; his arm muscles would flex as his fingers raked back his dripping wet hair. It wasn't yourfault he was the walking definition of perfection.
Unholy was the closest word to describe the filthy thoughts that had perverted your imagination. What started as endearing daydreams soon became fantasies that had you seeking relief between your thighs late at night. Your thoughts went wild whenever he dropped you off at your house. It took everything in you not to invite him inside and ask him to fuck you senseless against the front door.
All you had to do was ask. You knew he would say yes.
A year is a long time to know someone. A long time for feelings to grow. It also serves as a lot of time for things to happen between two peopleâthings that linger in your mind even months after they have happened.
Like the times he would walk by you and teasingly whisper something provocative in your ear, then disappear for an hour of swimming, leaving you all hot and flustered in the sand. Neither of you would acknowledge it when he returned. Or when conversations took such a flirtatious turn, the tension only dissipated when houses were separating you at the end of the night.
But that's just what friends do, right? They tease and banter?
Maybe.
However, not all things could be chalked up to being just friends.
Another thing about Finnick's eyes was that they were transparent. You saw how helplessly they clung to you the days you stripped to your underwear and joined him in the water. He had this sort of reaction that turned his eyes into a dark violent sea, like you were some divine temptation planted to test the strength of his resolve.
Sometimes he could resist. Other days it was obvious he couldn't help but reach out and touch.
He would try to be subtle about it. Hands holding yours a little longer than necessary when he helped you stand up. Sitting too closely beside you so that your arms and legs would graze against each other. Brushing off pieces of seaweed that would stick to the dip of your waist and then constantly using the same excuse just to feel the heat of your soft skin.
There was one interaction, though, that you fell asleep to the thought of every night. It was a moment when things almost went too far; an interaction friends definitely did not share.
You could remember it clear a day. Hell, you could still feel it clear as day.
It was a hot summer evening. Both you and Finnick were at the beach and swimming in the water since being in the muggy coastal heat for more than five minutes was parallel to roasting in a thousand-degree sauna.
You were about twenty meters offshore, bobbing beside Finnick as he dived to collect various seashells. That boy could hold his breath for an unbelievable amount of time which meant sometimes you spent minutes alone on the surface, waiting, listening to the calm waves lap eerily around you.
This is exactly how people die in shark movies, said an unwarranted voice in your mind.
As usual, a minute went by. Nothing to worry about. Then a minute turned into two and you were starting to become a little concerned. And then it was two and a half minutes and you were now panicking.
"Finnick?!" you called out, hoping he could somehow hear you from the dark depths.
Three minutes had totalled, and you were pretty certain he had drowned. Just to add to the utter dread coursing through your veins, something slimy brushed against your foot. Most likely a piece of seaweed, but you didn't make that connection at the time.
That very same moment, Finnick burst through the water's surface, only mildly breathless and pinching a small iridescent shell between his fingers.
"Look at thiâ"
Before the words could leave his mouth, he found himself enveloped in your distraught embrace. Your face was buried in the crook of his neck, crying tears of relief.Â
Damn that stupid seashell.
He automatically secured you in his arms, concern palpable in his voice as he asked, "Are you okay?"
You pulled away, an indistinguishable combination of tears and saltwater rolling down your cheeks. Though it was hard to miss the look of distress found in your furrowed brows and trembling lips.
"Don't ever do that to me again!" you exclaimed, gripping his arms to emphasise your urgency. "You hear me?! Ever!"
Finnick's head tilted slightly, surprised by your emotional reaction. He hadn't realised he meant so much to you. The surprise faded into remorse, softening his features.
"I won't. I won't, I promise," he said sincerely. His eyes flickered over the worry lines etched on your forehead. He unconsciously brushed his thumb over the lines, hoping to draw out the anxiety with his touch, and then tucked away a strand of hair. "I'm sorry I scared you."
You took in a deep, shuddering breath in an attempt to compose yourself. A mess of emotions stirred inside youâworry, embarrassment, irritation. You were partially frustrated with Finnick for making you fear for his life. Mostly annoyed with yourself for showing such vulnerability in front of him.
"God, you're an idiot sometimes," you sighed, shaking your head.
He smirked. "Didn't think you cared so much about me."
"No, you just don't think, Finn."
He glanced off into the distance for a moment with furrowed brows. "Well, that's definitely not true," he countered, meeting your gaze again with a half-smirk. "I think about a lot of things, actually."
"Oh? Like what?" you asked, slightly annoyed. "Do tell me what the great Finnick Odair thinks about instead of his own safety."
Slowly, the smirk faded from his lips. Something new tinged the atmosphere and suddenly everything around you seemed hotter than it previously was. Not an uncomfortable or sweltering heat, but one that held an intensity that sparked the air with electricity.
You suddenly became very aware that Finnick was still holding you in his arms. You recognised the confined proximity between you and him and realised that, before this moment, your bodies had never been so close.
Your legs were curled around his hips, pelvis pressed firmly against his. The position of his hands, which were keeping you afloat, was bordering on inappropriate but would only be deemed as such if you cared. Which you didn't. You liked itâhaving his hands on you.
One thing you couldn't ignore was the flickering of his gaze. How his eyes kept dropping to your lips. How they blatantly revealed a long-awaited confession that words just couldn't capture. Still, you wanted to hear him say it. You wanted to hear the purr in his voice as he told you.
Then he was leaning in. You weren't sure whether it was on purpose or if the pure magnetism of the tension between you was drawing him closer. Regardless, you started to lean in closer too, eyes drooping as you focused on his mouth.
And before the short distance between your lips and his became immeasurable, you whispered, "Tell me, Finn."
The hands keeping you afloat trailed up and down your back restlessly as Finnick forced a tense exhale through his nose. He seemed to be wrestling with thoughts. You waited in anticipation, and right when it seemed like he was going to make a moveâ
"I think..."
âyou were interrupted. By no less than a pod of dolphins as they leapt from the water, causing you and Finnick to jolt from each other's embrace.
The rest of that evening was not worth mentioning. Not because you had forgotten what happened, but because the sheer awkwardness between you and Finnick afterwards was so torturous that you wanted to keep the memory squashed in the recesses of your mind. Neither of you acknowledged what happened. Finnick still walked you home, but it was done so in agonising silence.
Surprisingly, you both returned to the beach the next day. You hadn't expected him to be his usual upbeat self, but he was. So, in turn, you too acted like the previous day was erased from history. But your friendship with him was never the same.
Flirty conversations no longer felt like a joke; they now had a deeper meaning. Fleeting touches caused full-body goosebumps that didn't happen before. There was so much unresolved tension, and it was painfully thick. Inescapable.
So, as Finnick sat beside you present-day, weaving dried palm leaves into the mat beneath your bodies, you couldn't help but notice the transparency of your body language and his. The gap between you both was comparable to the size of a pearl and even though neither of you acknowledged it, you kept catching each other stealing quick glances every half-minute or so.
When you were sure he wasn't looking, you found your gaze drawn to his fingers. They were sturdy, yet nimble; curling and manoeuvring in ways that had your face feeling hotter than the heat of any sunburn or warm summer's day. This heat was beneath your skin. Spreading through your limbs in little tendrils and wrapping around your nerves. A dip in the salty sea wouldn't cool you down nor would a gulp of cold fresh water.
As you stared at his hands, you knew only the source of the sensation could offer reprieve. But that wouldn't happen, so there you burned.
The fact that he was shirtless and that his hair was a gorgeous mess of damp bronze curls helped not one bit with taming the consuming desire inside you. God, you were a mess yourself.
You sighed.
The sun, glowing intensely with a divine orange, was beginning its descent on the horizon. Your feet were buried beneath the soft sand, trying to retain some warmth as a slight breeze blew against your exposed skin.
Wearing a short sundress probably wasn't the most practical idea. Embarrassing as it was to admit, practicality wasn't what was going through your mind when you decided to wear it... SomeoneâSomething else was.
"Something on your mind?" Finnick asked suddenly.
Your heart fumbled in your chest, terrified that he had somehow heard your thoughts. "Sorry?"
"You sighed," he said, turning his head to look at you. "Or am I just getting so old that I'm already starting to hear things?"
With relief of his lack of mind-reading abilities, you laughed softly. "You're definitely getting a bit old, Finn," you teased. "Any nursing homes you've been considering?"
"I heard retirement by the sea has its perks," he quipped, subtle dimples present as he returned to his weaving. "Although, I will need someone to make sure I don't fall asleep while swimming and get carried out by the tide. What d'you say, sweetheart? Up for becoming my personal lifeguard?"
Absolutely. "Depends. Will you force me to wear one of those awful flowery swimming caps with a matching tankini?"
He clicked his tongue in disapproval. "I'm thinking more like those little red bodysuits. You know, the ones that zip open down the front?"
You reprimanded him by pushing his shoulder, wearing a betraying smile. "Very charming."
"I just think red's your colour, that's all," he laughed.
Your stomach fluttered. You knew he was teasing you; teasing was basically the foundation of your... friendship. Deep down, you knew there was also some truth behind his words. A truth that was as electrifying as it was upsettingâhow long were you both going to keep up with this whole 'friends' charade? Could you handle it if the answer was forever?
Best not to think about it. For your sanity's sake.
Finnick finally settled into a comfortable position with his forearms locked around his bent knees, apparently having decided to continue his mat-weaving another time. He had been extending it bit by bit ever since he first made it for you. At this point, you were sure he was attempting to cover the entire beach. For now, it was only big enough for two people to lie down on.
Sounds pretty convenient, came an abrupt thought.
And then you fell down yet another rabbit hole of depraved daydreams... A pair of hands interlocking your own above your head. Hot lips pressing kisses to your neck. Tongue gliding up the sensitive skin of your jugular. Your fingers tugging at bronze curls between your thighs.
You were sick. Diseased with immorality. Finnick was your friend. If not your best friend. You're not supposed to fantasise about fucking your best friend.
"Thinking about anyone in particular?"
You almost choked on your saliva. "WâWhat?"Â
How did he keep doing that?
Finnick seemed to find joy in your perplexity. It was written all over his face. God, those fucking dimples. "You've been completely still for nearly five minutes and your legs are covered in goosebumps," he pointed out. "Hence the question: who are you thinking about?"
As you looked down, you found that your skin was in fact riddled with goosebumps. It didn't occur to you then that the only reason he could have noticed was if he was staring at your legs in the first place. It also didn't occur to you that Finnick obviously had the very same debauched thoughts running through his own mind.
Why did you have to wear such a revealing dress? He already struggled enough with resisting you at the best of times.
If you had been paying attention, a simple glance in his direction would have revealed how his ears were pink and his pupils were dilated. More importantly, you would have seen his legs constantly shifting to ease the discomfort tenting his pants. Fortunately, he had mastered the art of winding himself down in a short amount of time.
Unfortunately for you, that ability was not within your skill set.
You scoffed. "In case you haven't noticed, Finnickâit's autumn," you said, a quick snappy lilt in your tone. "I know you've got some weird internal space heater built into you, but normal people tend to have a reaction to the cold."
Well, it's a good thing you didn't sound defensive...
Finnick raised an eyebrow at you, displaying a puzzled half-smirk that spoke a thousand words.
You lowered your head in embarrassment, grinning sheepishly. "Sorry," you murmured. "I just, uh, don't really like the cold."
"Who could've guessed."
Despite serving as an excuse, it wasn't entirely untrue. You really did dislike the cold. And it was now that you seriously regretted your choice of sparse attire. The breeze kept blowing up the dress's skirt, threatening to expose your dignity to the world. Or more accurately, to Finnick. Thankfully, you had decided to wear a pair of delicate lace underwear that morning instead of old granny panties.
Nevertheless, now that it was on your mind, you couldn't think about anything but the cold gusts of wind blowing against you. Chills ran over your skin and you were shaking like a leaf.
Finnick, being the gentleman that he was, scanned the surrounding area for anything he could use to keep you warm. He would've given you his shirt had it not been crumpled in a ball of wet sand on the ground.
There was nothing else of use. Nothing except a single apprehensive idea sitting in the forefront of his mind. It was all he had. He bit the inside of his cheek as he contemplated the potentially disastrous idea.
Then, after taking a silent deep breath, he finally said, "Come here then." Your eyes snapped to his. You must've looked like you had seen a ghost because his brows knitted together in confusion. "What?" he breathed out a chuckle. "I'd prefer not having to carry you home as a block of ice."
You thought about it for a moment. Was it really such a good idea after the thoughts that were just swarming in your mind? Another gust of wind blew by and you instinctively wrapped your arms around yourself.
"I won't bite, sweetheart. Not unless you want me to," he added.
You rolled your eyes. "Oh, shut up."
With that, you slid across the mat, positioning your body, which was still facing the sunset, in front of his legs. There was a moment of hesitation. Anxiety. But before you could reconsider, Finnick wrapped a strong arm around your middle and pulled you back against his chest, situating your body between his legs.
The exhale that left your lips was instantaneous and you couldn't help but shudder at the warmth of his skin. "God," you sighed, overwhelmed by the sudden change in temperature. "How are you so warm all the time?"
"Oh, you know. Weird internal space heater."
You laughed softly, then felt Finnick's chest vibrate against your back as he joined you. His bare arms wound tighter around you, motivated by the affectionate atmosphere. Your body seemed to melt into the cocoon of warmth he provided, and a soft smile graced your lips.
"Better?" he asked.
You nodded, responding with a whisper, "Thank you."
"Anytime."
You could hear the smile in his voice and how intently he was trying to hide it. You wished you could have seen it. To see the sense of peace you shared. However, feeling it in the way he held you was enough.
Instead of blood, your heart now seemed to be pumping out rather odd alternativesâwaves of sea-green salted ocean, iridescent seashells, smiles paired with heart-stopping dimples. How could he? How could Finnick condemn you to loving him like this? So unwaveringly; so without a hope of ever being able to return to life without him in it.
He made a mess of you. A ruin. And even with wholesome affection running through your veins, you still couldn't ignore the hazy images conjuring in your mind from the way his body was pressed firmly behind you.
How could he?
The sun had just touched the horizon, granting the sky a few more minutes of light, meaning it was almost time to head homeâan upsetting reality. You weren't sure how much time had passed before your body started to ache from lack of movement.
You wiggled your toes which were buzzing like television static. The feeling started moving up your legs and you knew if you didn't stretch, you would later embarrass yourself trying to stand on dead legs. So that is what you did. You started moving.
First, you stretched out the muscles in your legs and then moved onto straightening your back against Finnick's chest, feeling the faint pops of your spine offer you relief. And then you started readjusting your position and wriggling your hips to fit more comfortably between Finnick's toned thighs. That was your first mistake.
"Stop moving."
You were taken aback by the rigid inflection in his tone. "What?" you asked, ignoring his warning and continuing your restless movements.
"Stop. Moving," Finnick repeated, sounding more strained.
His hold on you became stiff. Completely frozen.
You were confused. Everything was perfect a moment ago, and all you were doing was stretchingâwhy was he being so weird and snappy?
In response, you exhaled sharply. "I'm just trying to get comfâ"
"Fuck," he breathed out.
Your eyes widened and it was safe to say your stomach had flipped inside out.
That was the moment you finally realised your second mistake. The rigidness in his voice wasn't him being snappy with you at all. Not even close. He was just trying to prevent the pleasure he felt below from reaching his vocal cords.
But it was too late. It wouldn't have mattered if he managed to keep quiet because you could feel it now. The achingly hard length that was pressed against your backside, reaching all the way up to your tailbone.
"...Oh," you whispered.
"Yeah," Finnick said. "Oh."
Now it was your turn to freeze. Fear consumed you, similar to what you imagined having to remain motionless in front of tyrannosaurus rex to prevent from being eaten alive was like. Thanks to the damning wind, strands of your hair blew behind your shoulders, undoubtedly tickling the exposed skin of Finnick's chest. Even that minuscule movement had your heart threatening to explode with anxiety.
As per usual, panic wreaked havoc in your mind.
What do I do? Do I get up? How will we come back from this? Does heâ
Finnick cleared his throat. "Uh, you still alive in there?" he chuckled nervously.
You felt minor relief enter your bloodstream upon hearing the normality in his voice. At least one of you was composed enough to act normally. Well, as normal as one could act after becoming hard due to their best friend sitting in their lap.
"Is itâ" You swallowed the nerves rattling your voice "âis it because there's a girl sitting on your lap, or is it because it's me?"
That was the million-dollar question. Was his reaction simply biological? A natural response to stimulation? Or was it deeper than that? More personal.
Finnick was silent.
The rapid thumping in your chest moved to your ears, like a drumroll leading up to some grand reveal. You felt dizzy; both filled with dreadful anticipation and exhilaration. Your senses were so heightened, fuelled by an inane bout of adrenaline. You swore you could almost hear the gears turning in Finnick's mind, smell the smoke as they rotated over and over, trying to make sense of your question and form a suitable response.
Religion never played a factor in your life, but, oh, how you were zealously praying his answer would be the one you spent all your nights fantasising about. But still, he was silent.
And right when you believed he wasn't going to respond at all, his lips finally uttered that single life-changing word. "You."
Fireworks seemed to light up every nerve in your body. You.
You weren't sure what to make of your thoughts at first. The overwhelming abundance of emotion caused by a singular word was difficult to fathom. Only one sentiment stood out from the restâand that was the fact that Finnick felt the same as you did for him.
It was no longer a speculation. It was a fact. A truth. An undeniable reality. You had both verbal and physicalproof, literally digging into your backside.
Finnick slowly, very slowly, unwound an arm from your torso, and you held your breath. His hand slid across your waist and then plastered itself over your hipbone, careful not to apply too much pressure to make you feel uncomfortable. When you felt the slight movement of his thumb gliding across your clothed skin, you exhaled the burning air in your lungs with a shaky sigh.
"Do you want me to get up?" you asked softly while staring at the sunset, although you were focused on anything but.
"Not a chance." And then he unwound the other arm, now cupping both sides of your hips with two large hands. The heat from his palm sank into your skin, sinking deeper layer by layer until it reached the rapid flow of your bloodstream. "Do you want to get up?"
You felt a pulsing sensation between your thighs that had your parted lips inhaling slow deep breaths, and you knew the only logical answer was no. So, you shook your head.
Finnick reached up to skilfully tuck a lock of hair behind your ear before placing his hand back on your hip. He then leaned down beside your ear, voice a hot, velvety whisper, "What next then, sweetheart?"
A wave of chills ran down your entire body.
What next? Another question for the ages. You had dreamt of this moment a million times over. You had pictured the unholiest, most vivid of scenarios, and yet here you were, mind blank as an empty void.
Then it hit you. Rather than acting from a pre-planned script, wouldn't it be better to just let your body act on what it naturally desired? On instinct? You took in a deep, stabilising breath and gave yourself into moment.
You slowly began turning your head to the side until, for the first time since he pulled you into his arms, your eyes flickered up and found Finnick's. His lips quirked with the ghost of a smile at the exchange, but he held it back. His jaw clenched and unclenched, muscles ticking with tension.
He was looking at you in a way you had never seen before. Or perhaps, you were just never close enough to notice, and he had always looked at you this way. There was a blazing intensity in his eyes, dark and penetrative, a bridge between yearning and total reverence. It was so enticing that you could feel your hands itching to undress yourself in front of him.
Finnick murmured your name.
"Yes?" you managed to whisper.
"Do you have any idea how long I've waited for this?"
Those wordsâhe had stolen them from the tip of your tongue.
You couldn't find the strength to muster any profound response. So instead, you found your head tilting back and the crook of your elbow winding up and around the nape of his neck. You didn't need to guide him down; he came willingly.
His lips caught yours in a soft, warm exchange. Singular yet prolonged. Then there was a brief pause of disconnection, a calm before the storm. And with Finnick, when it rained, it poured. Suddenly, a hand was cupping the area where your jaw and neck connected, and his lips were on yours again.
There was so much more heat in this kiss. A depth that kept growing with each connection of your lips. You could hear the fervour in the breathless exhales that exited his nose, the quiet groans that slipped into your mouth. Though the same could be said for you.
You couldn't subdue the moans and meek whimpers that leaked out. Especially when his tongue slipped into your mouth and took control over your own. At this point, you couldn't even be called putty in his arms; you were pure liquid, totally and completely submissive in his embrace.
It was impossible to tell who was throbbing beneath you anymore. All you were sure of was that the pretty lace panties you had put on that morning were now soaked. Though even if he never touched you, you wouldn't have cared. Having his lips on yours, his tongue on yours, was enough. And if he kept at it long enough, you were sure it would even be enough to get you off. That's how much power Finnick had over you.
Apparently, he felt the same too. Because when you leaned further back into him and your ass pushed against the length of his erection, his fist scrunched the fabric of your dress by your hip and his lips left yours to let out a shuddering breath.
"Fuck, sweetheart," he huffed, half chuckling.
Technically, it was a suppressed moan. Either way, you swear you almost came then and there.
With one last gentle kiss, you opened your eyes, pulling away to replenish your lungs with air. Finnick's eyes were already locked on yours in a drunken haze from the taste of your lips. Your arm unwound from his neck, grazing down his broad shoulders and bicep. During so, your eyes caught on the tiny bumps and raised hair scattered across his arm.
"You've got goosebumps," you smiled, trailing your fingertips across his skin.
His gaze moved to follow your hand, wearing a boyish grin. "Would you believe me if I said I was cold?"
Your throat buzzed with a suppressed giggle. Seeing the way his body reacted to yours was incredibly motivating. Someone telling you they lusted after you could easily be spoken with deception. But having visual confirmation, witnessing a reaction that couldn't possibly be forced, was a whole different story. Finnick's body craved you.
Given that incentive, the slight trepidation still holding you back now disappeared into the back of your mind. Your fingers curled around his wrist, dragging the hand beneath your jaw down to your neck, and then down to your chest. It didn't take him too long to figure out your intentions. He overtook your influence and autonomously moved his hand to cup your breast.
You were essentially caged in his embrace. Exactly how you wanted it.
You stared ahead with relaxed eyes, watching as the sun slipped into the dark water. Night had officially blanketed District Four and, now being shielded by darkness, the stars were your only witness. Strangely enough, you felt a new sense of shamelessness.
So as Finnick kneaded your breast in his warm hand and pinched the sensitive peak of your nipple between his thumb and forefinger through the lace of your bra, you allowed a soft moan to escape your lips.
It was almost as if you could actually feel the smirk growing across Finnick's lips behind you. One thing you actually could feel was the twitch of his achingly hard cock beneath you.
"You like that?" he asked, definitely smirking.
"Yes," you sighed almost immediately.
If only he knew how truly euphoric you felt. If only he knew how many times you had imagined being in this exact situation. Having him touching you like this. The guilt of imagining him in such a way used to eat you up. But now that you were past the guilt, there was no shame connected to the thought of Finnick eating you up.
Fuck, he would look so perfect between your thighsâbronze curls all messed up from your pulling and tugging; sea green eyes squeezed shut as he dedicated his attention to dragging you down to the pits of hell with his tongue.
Your head fell back against his collarbone. He took this as a signal to move your hair aside and start planting hot kisses onto the curve of your shoulder. Then he trailed further across, brushing his lips across your skin until he reached the side of your neck and started sucking gently, though enough to leave behind pretty little red marks of possession.
"What about this?" he murmured against the delicate skin.
The faint taste of sea-salted air sat in the back of your throat as your breaths deepened. You felt his tongue glide partially up the length of your carotid artery, and your entire nervous system seemed to short-circuit.
"Yes,"you practically whined.
He must have found this amusing because you could feel the vibrations of his chuckle against your neck. But he wasn't finished yet. Hell, the finish line was a lifetime away regarding the things he planned on doing to you. They probably couldn't all be done in one night though, unfortunately.
You had completely forgotten about the hand still splayed on your hip. Why would you pay it any attention when it was sitting idle? Only it wasn't simply resting on your hip anymore. No. Now it was moving. Moving down.
His lips were still on your neck and he was still cupping your breast, but all you could focus on was the carnal descent of his hand. He found the hem of your dress, fingers toying with the flimsy material as one did when deciding whether or not to go through with something potentially consequential. Ultimately, he began to drag the fabric up your thighs, knuckles grazing over your soft skin until the skirt of your dress was ruched around your hips.
You sucked in a sharp breath. The vulnerability of suddenly being exposed in such a manner hit you like a tonne of bricks. This was really happening. Finnick, the Capitol's darling, District Four's golden boy, and more significant;y, your best friend, was touching you. He was kissing you. He was seeing and feeling parts of your body you had never let him see or feel before.
Naturally, this unfurling web of thoughts produced a surge of insecurity.
But, when his hand curled around your inner thigh and spread a wildfire of warmth across your skin, every thought that was previously passing through your mind disintegrated and was replaced with unadulterated yearning.
Finnick's mouth finally detached from your neck to hover beside your ear. "And this?"
He lightly kneaded your thigh to emphasise his question, dangerously close to the place that undoubtedly crossed the boundary between friend and lover.
You were speechless. The desire running through your veins was paralysing. All you could do was look, see, feel, and hope to god you didn't pass out from the shallowness of your breathing.
"Come on, sweetheart," he roused in that low, seductive purr. "Don't go quiet on me now. Use your words."
And how could you ever disobey a voice like that? It took every ounce of strength and concentration you had in you, but eventually, you managed to find your voice.
"Iâ" You cut yourself off with a gasp as his thumb purposefully wandered up to the edge of your underwear. Asshole. "I lie awake every night imagining us like this, Finn. You don't need permission to touch me. You've already had it for months."
Suddenly, a gentle finger was turning your chin, compelling you to meet Finnick's gaze. His eyes lacked the intensity from before and were now brimming with awe, brows knitted as if he was asking for confirmation if what you had said was truthful. And it was, painfully so.
To answer his wordless question, you leaned forward and connected your lips with his. He responded with ardency, and not long after, you could feel his hand wander up to the waistband of your panties.Â
He wasted not a second before dipping his hand beneath the lace material and finding that sensitive spot that had been begging for his attention.
Your lips separated from his to let out a breathy moan. "Finnick."
He simply smiled, two fingers rubbing circles around your clit. He pressed gentle coaxing kisses to your lips, and you really did try to respond, but you were never one for multitasking. Especially when the man you had fallen in love with was touching you so.
His other hand wandered across your torso, holding your waist, grazing over your stomach, tracing the length of your sternum. All very loving adorations compared to what his other hand was doing.
"I think I'm going to hell because of you," he murmured, millimetres away from your lips. Such a disconcerting thing for someone to admit, but all you could manage was a hum in response. "Every time I see you, I can feel myself getting closer and closer. You derange my thoughts, sweetheart. You corrupt them.
How am I supposed to be around you if I want to fuck you every time you say my name? And what makes it so much more impossible is that you don't even mean to make me feel this way; you just do. God, you're maddening. So sweet and maddening," he cooed, fingers picking up in pace which caused you to melt back into his chest and let out a pretty little moan. "Drives me crazy."
"And to think," you managed, "I thought you had your hands between my legs because you hated me."
Your hips were rolling lightly along with the rhythm of his fingers.
At the very same time Finnick's thighs tensed around your hips from the friction against his cock, he abruptly plunged two fingers inside you. Punishment.
The moan you let out was positively filthy.
"Such an attitude you have," he said. "Anyone would think you're completely innocent in a dress like this. But I know better than that." His fingers slid in and out, curling every time the base of his fingers bottomed out inside of you. "I know exactly why you wore it. Just like I know exactly why you wore those lace panties you pretend that I can't see whenever you bend over."
Heat crept up into your cheeks from hearing his words. You wanted to provoke him by saying 'And look where it got me'but who knew how his fingers would respond to your attitude.
"You can't do that to a man," he continued. "It's criminal."
"It's only fair, Finn," you breathed out, struggling to keep your voice level. "You ruined me."
A deep moan rumbled in his chest, though it never escaped. He couldn't break that easily. He needed to remain in control. This moment, to him, seemed like an eternity forthcoming. He needed to make the most of this moment with you, needed to show you what it was like to receive earth-shattering pleasure so that you only ever wanted to receive it from him. No one else.
Despite his obvious attempts at keeping himself in check, you could still feel his thick impatient cock twitch beneath your ass. Even through the layers of clothing between you, you could tell that he was incredibly big. So much so that it worried you a little. Only, when his fingers curled again, you forgot all about it.
The pads of his fingertips buried into your inner walls with every curl. The heel of his palm struck your clit with every thrust of his fingers and you could feel your stomach start tightening. Fuck, he was amazing at this.
It had been so long since someone had touched you like this. Well, someone that was actually good at it. Just a few minutes and Finnick was already about to make you come.
"Feels so good, soâahâgood!" you moaned, eyes fluttering shut.
He reached a free hand up to your breast, lightly pinching your nipple between his fingers until you let out a gasp. At least one of you was good at multitasking.
"You gonna come?" he asked, not that he even needed an answer. He could feel the way your walls were contracting around his fingers, feel the sticky warmth of your slick leaking onto his knuckles.
You nodded fervently.
"Say please first."
"Finn," you whined in frustration.
You could hear him chuckle self-satisfyingly behind you. "Come on, baby. Sweet girls are supposed to have manners, aren't they?"
His low, husky voice almost threw you over the edge. Oh, how you would love to listen to the sound of him talking you through your orgasm. That is if he ever even let you get to that point.
Never had you ever thought you would be pleading with a man for anything, yet here you were. Though, Finnick Odair could hardly be called a man. He was so much more than that; he was bordering on divinity. And you weren't going to miss the chance of being unravelled at the hands of a divine being.
"Please, Finnick," you begged, your body literally buzzing with desperation. "Please make me come."
He pressed a kiss below your earlobe. "Since you asked so nicely."
His fingers picked up in pace. They weren't even plunging in and out anymore but were rather curling, over and over again in that electrifying spot inside you. He went hard and fast, working to bring you to your high as quickly as possible. Your moans were so unrestrained, so breathless and shallow that you started to feel the world spin around you.
Your hand flew back to hold onto his arm, nails digging into the hard muscles of his bicep. Your hips were writhing in Finnick's lap and you could hear him groan out a string of curses. He held you down by the hip to try and keep you still, then moved across to the bottom of your abdomen where he pressed down.
That is what did it for you.
You cried out as tightness spread down your stomach and pure ecstasy took control. Finnick murmured words of praise and reassurance as you rode through your high, though a lot of it didn't register in your mind. You heard only a few bits and pieces which were enough to prolong the feeling that was overwhelming your entire body.
"Taking it so well."
"That's it, sweetheart. That's it."
"Such a good girl."
As the waves of pleasure slowly began to subside, you returned to reality. The heat that had been building up inside you started melting away, leaving you in a state of relaxation. Your fingers, which previously clung onto Finnick's arm, now grazed absentmindedly across his skin. It felt like you had been sucked into a dreamâa little hazy and surreal, but incredibly tranquil.
"You okay?" Finnick asked softly.
You hadn't even noticed that his fingers had left your body. He had pulled down the hem of your dressâ not that your dignity really needed saving anymoreâand was holding your melted figure in his arms.
"Mm," you hummed contently, eyes fixed on the view in front of you. "Warmed up."
If only you were able to see his face, his smile. Those dimples. A powerful longing to be able to see every expression known to man morph his facial features washed over you. It was a little ridiculous how attracted to him you were. Nonetheless, you indulged the desire.
You pushed yourself from his lap and pivoted to face him
You were straddling his lap before any ounce of hesitation could hold you back. Finnick circled his arms around your waist, pulling you closer into his chest. He was smiling. He was smiling and it was even more beautiful than any sunset you had ever witnessed. You concluded that you had definitely made the right choice in deciding to face him.
"Hi," you whispered.
He smiled. "Hey, stranger."
He brushed back a few pieces of hair from your face, observing the blown size of your pupils and the sultry colour of your lips. He did thatâhe could not get over the fact that he did that to you. Finally.
You shrunk away from his gaze, a timid smile on your lips.
Finnick tilted his head slightly. "Shy thing."
You buried your face into the side of his neck, groaning quietly in embarrassment. You could hear the perfect sound of him laughing above you. He stroked the length of your spine, somehow managing to ease the nerves from your body with a simple touch. You left a quick kiss on the warm skin of his neck and rose back up to meet his gaze.
"Feeling better?"
"Much," you replied, sheepishly. Your eyes flickered across Finnick's, hesitated, and then gestured downwards. "But... you're not." His head tilted as though he were confused as to what you were suggesting, so you leaned in closer until your lips ghosted over his. "Still need to take care of you."
A breath of warm air fanned across your face as he chuckled. He shook his head. "It's alright. I can hold off for another time."
And although the prospect of doing this again another time was downright exhilarating, you couldn't ignore the palpable heat still lingering in your lower stomach, throbbing between your thighs. You could only imagine how he must have been feelingâcock throbbing with a need for relief, though ready to deny himself the same amount of pleasure he just gave you.
You suddenly curled a hand around the back of his neck and brought him into a slow kiss. To show him he was allowed to indulge himself. That you wanted him to. You ground your hips down on his lap and felt his lips falter against yours.
You pulled back and echoed your previous words, "It's only fair, Finn."
Time seemed to pause for a moment. Your breath and his mixed with one another in a sort of hot whirlwind of anticipation. Your bodies were still. Finnick's eyes were half-lidded staring at your mouth.
Then came the explosion.
His hands were hastily tugging your sundress over your head; his lips were on yours as he reached down between your bodies to unbutton his pants. It felt like a race against time. Like if you didn't do this now, the chance would never come by again. Hell, his pants hadn't even made it off his legs before he was holding himself in his hand and you were rising to your knees, positioning yourself directly above his length.
Your lips never left his, strenuous as it was, meaning the only gauge you got of how big he was wasn't from seeing it, but from feeling it as you pulled your panties aside, guided his cock to your entrance with one hand, and felt the entire veiny length of him fill you completely as you lowered yourself onto him.
A quiet, synchronised gasp left both your lips as you enveloped him completely in wet velvety warmth. His pelvis was connected with yours and his cock was pressed right up against your cervix. So incredibly deep, you could almost feel him in your stomach.
You stayed like this for a few seconds.
"So big," you gasped against his lips.
His hands were on your back, dragging up and down. "Want to stop?"
"Never."
This was so not what friends did.
He trailed kisses from your mouth, to your jaw, and down to your neck. You were grinding sinuously back and forth, Finnick's hands now on your hips as a guide, feeling his tip bury into the sensitive walls inside you. Your head fell back with a gratified moan as he nipped your neck unforgivingly, only to soothe the spots he marked with the glide of his tongue.
At that moment, the past and future were of no significance. The idea that doing this might ruin your relationship with him afterwards didn't concern you. You didn't bother recollecting a time when you and Finnick were merely friends, nor did you ponder how you even managed to reach this point.
All you could focus on was how fucking perfect his cock felt inside of you.
The cold, which was previously a nuisance, now served as a stimulant to your nipples which were only covered by the thin unpadded material of your lace bra. They were bouncing with every movement you made, the hard peaks rubbing against Finnick's chest and creating a triangle of pleasure between them and the depravity that was happening further below.
He was so hungry in the way he kissed you. His lips were soft, but they moved with heat and determination. His tongue was supple as it pushed against yours, moving masterfully in a way you could only compare to how he swam in the ocean. A conquerorâable to bring you into submission with ease.
You pushed yourself upwards, the muscles in your thighs slightly burning as you did so, and felt his cock glide through you. He inhaled harshly through his nose when his tip almost left your wet heat, and then groaned into your mouth when your hips sunk back down, engulfing him once again.
"Shit," he almost whined as your walls clenched around him. "I fuckinglove you."
You pulled away to look him in the eyes. It was incredibly difficult for you to contemplate his wordsâhis confessionâwhen he was, what, eight or so inches deep inside you?
He didn't look like he regretted saying it. He was simply staring at you with raised brows pinched together in pleasure, awaiting your response as you continued your sequence of rising and sinking to fill yourself up with his cock.
"You love me?" you asked in a laboured breath. He only nodded in response. You sank fully down onto his lap, discontinuing your movements, willing him to prove his so-declared devotion. "Then show me."
He was breathing heavily and watching you through strands of sea-salted hair messily splayed across his forehead. He was so beautiful it actually kind of hurt to look at him. His eyes fell to your mouth during this brief amnesty, a decision prominent in his mind. Then he was rushing forward, crushing his lips to yours and forcing your body to lay back on the mat beneath you.
Finnick somehow managed to remain inside you as he switched your positionsâhim now above you as your legs were wrapped around his waist. His body pinned you down with a comfortable weight, skin warm and flush against yours.
He was overpowering and dominating, and his thrusts were laced with a sense of appropriation like he was making you his. The slow grinds of his hips were hard yet measured and so breathtakingly deep, and the gentle upwards curve of his cock made sure his tip was prodding against that swollen pleasure-inducing spot every single time.
His kisses were sensual and slow; his tongue slipping languidly into your mouth, swirling and massaging your tongue like it was made of pure silk.
You had told him what to doânow he was showing you. Finnick Odair wasn't fucking you. He was making love to you.
Your hands were on his back, fingertips leaving red marks on the curves of his shoulder blades. You moved up to his hair, scratching your nails softly into his scalp, which earned you a soft moan in your mouth. Even you could feel yourself pulsing around his cock. Everything he did, every sound and action he made, had your body yielding to him.
His hand pulled you up into him by the waist, arching your back off the palm-leaf mat so that he was thrusting more profoundly into that blissful spot inside you. He never sped up his pace. He didn't need to. He was savouring the moment as much as he could, memorising each warm ripple of your walls his cock glided over inside you, every intoxicating moan your soft lips released, the pressure of your warm supple thighs hugging his waist.
He was committing every aspect of you to memory. Inside and out.
Having that knowledge only made the moment so much more pleasurable. Knowing that he wasn't just thinking about you with his cock, but was thinking about you with his heart too.
That feeling started creeping up inside youâthe blissful burn of heat pooling in your lower stomach. It made your walls flutter around him. Made you whine and moan uncontrollably into his mouth until you couldn't focus on kissing him anymore and had to pull away.
Your head fell back onto the mat, hair strewn out around you. The sounds coming out of you were pure sin. Desperate, greedy sin.
Finnick chuckled adoringly above you. "Too fucked out, sweetheart?"
He couldn't exactly talk. The second you clenched around him again, he groaned out a curse and youâthe parts of your mind that were still relatively comprehensibleâwere sure you could feel the warmth of pre-cum ooze inside you.
"Finnick," you mewled, and he caressed the baby hairs framing your face. "Feels so good. Shouldâshould've done this sooner."
Through your half-lidded eyes, you watched as he nodded and then descended to your forehead, pressing his lips tenderly against your skin. I know, the gesture said. You felt a rush of affection flood through your body, ultimately accelerating the build-up happening inside you.
You could feel yourself teetering so impossibly close to the brink of your orgasm. The tightness inside you was so hot and overwhelming; it was a struggle for you to keep your eyes from fluttering shut and rolling back, though you willed yourself to keep them open. You had to.
Watching Finnick's face contort with pleasure as he's thrown into his own high from feeling your walls contract around him would probably be the highlight of your entire life.
"So beautiful," he cooed as he thrusted into you. "My sweet girl's gonna come, isn't she? Can feel it."
The words flew out of your mouth. "Come inside me."
"Come inside you?"
You were pretty sure he was mocking you from the devilish curve of his lips and furrow of his brows. But your lust-drunk brain didn't really care.
"Please. Wanna feel youâ" Your chest heaved with each breath "âeverywhere."
Finnick was so obviously trying to keep himself from giving in before you. But you could see how delirious his eyes were as they stared down at you and you heard how every low, gratifiedâfrustratingly sexyâsound he made betrayed him. He was so close.
"Anything for you, sweetheart," he said, finally.
He managed to unhook your hands from around his back and guided them upwards, holding your wrists together above your head with one hand before he brought his other back to your waist. It was oddly romantic how he held you, given that he was fucking you like life after that night wasn't guaranteed.
And then, without warning, he was pounding into you, bottoming out completely with each thrust.
It was almost animalistic nowâhow you were both unable to control yourselves anymore. You were writhing beneath him, impulsively fighting against the grip he had on your wrists. And Finnick, well, he was fucking you so hard, you weren't sure if walking home that night would be a possibility.
He was a disaster of pleasured vocals, deep moans, and heavy breaths. You thanked the absolute heavens he was because it was the most beautiful sound you had ever heard in your entire life.
When your own moans started to rise in pitch, you knew you were done for. You felt so full. Stretched out to the max. Blinded by the heat that was drowning you. But your eyes managed to remain clear and locked on Finnick's the entire time, just as his were on yours.
With a fleeting glance downward, he once again placed a large hand over your abdomen and pushed down, and your back arched off the ground.
You were gone.
"Oh fuck!"
The heat, white and fiery, had consumed you. Your thighs tensed uncontrollably around Finnick, your body shaking beneath him as your insides pulsed all the way down to your stuffed entrance. White, sticky sweetness covered Finnick's cock as he continued to thrust into you, the wet sounds overpowering the waves cresting on the sands. It felt like fucking heaven.
He let out a moan, broken and breathless, and released the grip he had on your hands. In that short moment, you instantly gripped onto him, feeling his body shudder beneath your hands as his throbbing cock spurted out ropes of warmth deep inside you, the essence of both of you mixing inside your body, making you one.
You pulled him down and crushed your lips to his with a sudden intense urge to be as close to him as you could, if it were even possible to be any closer to him at that point. It felt a little spiritual, the way you practically wanted to merge your body with his. That's what having sex with someone you truly loved was like, you supposed.
The kiss was sloppy and messy, but it never lacked heat or affection. Lacking heat was impossible between you and Finnick.
A lot of time passed before either of you even contemplated pulling away from one another. Finnick was inside you for what must have been a good half hour after you had both finished. It felt close. Deeply intimate. He held you in his arms, his hands mapping out various parts of your body with unhurried measure as you lay beneath him, lazily yet affectionately making out with warm, reddened lips.
There were quiet giggles and heated words whispered between you that would have prompted another session had either of you been graced with the energy.
But it was late. The remnants of the sun had long since disappeared beneath the horizon, dimming the sky to a deep dark blue, the world's only source of illumination being the stars casting their sparkling light on the rippling water.
It was a new moon.
Eventually, you ended up laying over his chest, legs strewn across his as you both faced the ocean. Your head rose and fell with each breath Finnick took and it felt unreal.Â
You were momentarily worried your infatuation with him had grown too out of hand and you had imagined the whole day, or perhaps, the entire time you had known him. That it was all a figment of your vivid imagination.
Then, his warm hand slid into your own, which was draped across his stomach, and you knew that this, the newfound relationship between you and Finnick, was undeniably and rapturously real.
He slowly lifted them together above your bodies, palms flat against one another. There was a notable size difference between themâhis palm was large and calloused with long fingers that squared off at the tips, meanwhile, your own fist could probably fit into his palm.
Your fingers danced delicately together as you both watched from below. He traced the length of your fingers with his fingertips; followed the etches in your palm, and turned your hand to explore the protrusions of your knuckles. There was a certain gentle curiosity in his touch, similar to that of someone who was discovering the act of human connection for the first time.
"I don't know if I can walk home," you whispered.
Finnick lowered your interlocked hands to his lips, pressing a tender kiss to your knuckles before placing them back on his stomach. "I'll carry you."
"For an entire hour?"
"I'll manage," he said, "I've got muscles."
You scoffed quietly to yourself, smiling. "Ok, big strong man."
"Says the girl who needs to be carried home."
"Well, you are kind of the one to blame for that."
You tilted your head to glance up at him and found exactly what you were expecting to see. He was wearing a proud grin, all apple cheeks and crinkled eyes. It was something you had come to adore, even though sometimes it was out of arrogance.
Your head turned to rest back on his chest. You watched as his thumb caressed slow circles over your knuckle.
"What you said before," you began, "is it true? Do you really... love me?"
The heart beating beneath your ear genuinely sounded like it skipped a beat. You imagined that was a good sign, though your nerves were still a little frayed. What if he had only said it because of the heat of the moment?
A beat went by. "I've been trying to tell you ever since I first wove the mat for you," he confessed, his voice quiet yet holding the weight of the history that made up your friendship.
There it wasâthe truth laid bare. Despite hearing the words, it didn't really change anything. You suspected deep down you knew the entire time; you were just too self-doubting to accept it. To accept that Finnick Odair, the crown jewel of Panem, had fallen in love with you, an ordinary girl from District Four who just so happened to meet him at a secret beach.
Although, there was a sensation you remember upon first meeting him. That instinct that had told you to stay instead of running away, as any logical human being would do upon being approached by a stranger in the middle of nowhere. That instinct, despite sounding utterly ridiculous, caused you to believe that perhaps it was fate.
Maybe you were destined to meet. Maybe it didn't matter that he was a nationwide celebrity, nor you a simple town girl. Maybe your souls were entwined from the start and, one way or another, you would have met anyway.
Maybe.
"That's a long time," you said.
He laughed. "Yeah, well, I thought you would've gotten the hint by now."
And you couldn't help but join him. You thought you were the one who was deranged out of their mind. Here Finnick was telling you he had spent an entire year trying to confess his love without you even realising.
"I'm sorry it took me so long."
"It's alright," he said, earnestly. "I'd say it worked out pretty well. I mean, look where your obliviousness got us."
You smiled. Your legs were tangled with Finnick's; his arm was holding you tightly against his bare upper body, and his fingers were lovingly tracing over yours. Yeah, you were pretty grateful for your obliviousness sometimes. A new pair of underwear might have been something to consider, though.
A silence settled between you, comfortable, peaceful. Being in Finnick's embrace almost made you forget entirely about the reality of your existenceâthe Games, the dominion over Panem, the chaotic environment back home. It was the reason you had set off last year in search of a place away from society.
You had now found that the escape you were looking for wasn't a place or a hidden paradise, but a person. It was Finnick.
"Finn?"
"Yeah?"
The trees and palm leaves danced in the light breeze. Waves lapped on the shore.
You angled your head back to look at Finnick and felt him pull you closer. His expression was a picture of relaxation and contentment. His eyes gazed down at you, glimmering with the reflection of scattered stars in the night sky, just like the sea in front of you.
He seemed to already know what you were going to say. Always the mind reader.
"Say it, sweetheart." The corners of his lips twitched expectantly.
Sweetheart. Oh, how could you have ever felt for him in any other way?
"I love you too."
His face broke into one of the happiest smiles you had ever seen.

I kept tossing and turning in my bed, I couldn't fall asleep for the life of me it was so hot in my room that even only wearing my oversized t-shirt that barely covers my ass and a thong I was still too hot to fall asleep. I picked up my phone to check the time. "Fuck" I said under my breath as the phone screen read 2:37 AM "Well there is only one thing that can help me," I said to myself as I swiftly hopped out of my bed, rushing to my vanity. I pulled out my pink 'makeup bag' which really wasn't a makeup bag but a special bag that holds weed for when I want to smoke and that's the beauty of it, my parents would never think to look in my makeup bag that is placed on my vanity, hiding in plain sight.
I pull on the zipper revealing the contents of the bag: some papers a lighter and a small tin container "Bingo" I say to myself getting excited to smoke. I opened the container and was left shocked. It was empty not even a little left for me to smoke. I sighed as I knew what my two options were. Option one go back to bed and try to fall asleep in this hell-like heat or option two message my dealer who I'm scared of. I try to see him as rarely as possible. Chris is so hot but also hella scary and always seems cold and distant so I always kept it short and always buy enough to last me at least a month. I weighed out my options and decided that there was no way that I was falling asleep without smoking so I grabbed my phone.
"hey r u still up?" I texted him and waited for an answer hoping he was still up so I could get my weed.
"yeah i'm still up, need something ma?" he answered. He always called me ma or princess which I found weird but never dared to say anything about it.
"can I buy my usual? im all out" I text right back happy that he's still awake
"sure ma gonna be there in five" he answers
I quickly go out of my room and check if my parents are asleep. I go down the stairs and quickly sneak out of the backdoor as I usually do since it's the furthest from my parents room and they wouldn't hear the door opening or closing. I go around my house and he's already at my front door waiting in his car. I quickly get in the car. "hey ma I like what ur wearing" he says smirking. I look down and realize I forgot to put on shorts or pants and now I'm sitting in his car bare ass on the seat as my shirt raised up a bit while sitting down. "well I rushed outside and it's really hot outside" I said quietly. "Do you have my weed?" I continued right after. "Of course I do ma, here," he said and pushed a baggie with weed in my hand. My eyes lit up seeing my goods and a smile creeps on my face as I reach out my hand with cash "Damn, you're so excited over some weed. You know it's not good to do drugs right?" he says in a cold tone taking my money. "Well, this weed is the only way I'm falling asleep in this weather. Besides you should want people to buy weed it's how you earn your money" I say back. "Do you wanna go somewhere cooler?" Chris asks. " Well I don't know, my parents are asleep" I answer. "Exactly they won't even know you left the house," he says smirking again. "You've got a point, sure let's go," I say.
This interaction was a bit different than all other ones. He didn't seem as cold as usual but maybe I'm just imagining things.
We have been driving for at least 10 minutes now and I'm sitting on my side both my legs horizontally on the car seat as I look through the window listening to the music that's quietly playing in the car. "Where are we going? You never told me" I ask as I turn my head. I saw Chris looking at my ass as it was fully visible in the position I'm sitting in. "We're almost there" his eyes quickly shot to the road as he answered. "Were you looking at my ass?" I say changing my sitting position. "Well ur the one who's not wearing any pants" he scoffs coldly. "I didn't know we would go somewhere" I quickly answer. "We're here," Chris says and I look outside the window. We are at the beach, the moon is shining and the waves look so calming. We both get out of the car and head to the shore.
We find a good spot and sit down. We are the only ones here no people in sight, just me and him. Well if I think about it he could kill me and no one would ever know, the thought of that made me uneasy. "You good ma?" he asks "Yeah I'm fine" I answer looking at the pretty waves as the warm breeze hits my skin. "This feels so nice," I say quietly. "It does, do you want to smoke?" he asks holding a joint that he had just rolled in between his fingers "You bet I do" I answer and he puts the joint in between my lips and lights it. I take a puff and let the smoke out. We finish the joint and sit for a bit.
I look at Chris and notice his beautiful features in the moonlight, my gaze moving from his hair to his lips, as my eyes travel down further my eyes fall to his crotch and I feel my panties dampen. He turns his head looking at me and his clear blue eyes with a hint of red surrounding them meet mine. "what's up ma?" he asks not breaking the eye contact. "You know, you're not as scary as I thought," I say looking down at my fingers and playing with the sand beneath me. "Why do you think I'm scary, do you think I'm going to kill you or something" he shoots back a question. "That thought did cross my mind if I'm being honest. You're always so cold towards me" I say and he chuckles at my confession. "I would never kill such a pretty lady. I always love seeing you ma" he says and a smile appears on my face.
"You wanna go for a swim?" he asks "I don't have a swimsuit" I answer "Neither do I, let's go anyway, cmon ma don't be shy," Chris says looking at me shooting me a quick smirk before standing up and pulling down his shorts and his shirt running towards the waves. I get up and pull off my t-shirt throwing it into the sand and covering my bare chest with my hands as I have no bra on.
I start running towards the ocean as well, seeing Chris already in the water fully swimming. I swim to him and he looks at me staring me down, till he glances at my boobs and licks his lips. "Kiss me," he demands with a lustful voice. He takes my hand and pulls me closer until our bodies meet pushing his lips onto mine unexpectedly. His tongue exploring my mouth before breaking the kiss. He moves to kissing my neck sucking on it leaving a mark. I tilt my head back and let out a quiet moan as he hits my sweet spot. "Oh you like that don't you ma," he says and moves to kiss my collarbones leaving a trail of kisses till he gets to my breasts nibbling on my nipple. "Oh fuck" I moan. "Tell me what you want, and I'm gonna give it to you princess," Chris says in a deep voice. "I want you" I manage to say. He grabs my hand and starts running towards the shore as I'm following him. We get to the shore where our clothes are.
I lay down and he crawls in between my legs his chain dangling above my face his eyes full of lust staring at my lips before smashing his lips on mine once again as we share a passionate kiss. He pulls down my thong not breaking the kiss, doing the same for his boxers. As we deepen the kiss his fingers move up and down my heat before slamming them into me. I throw my head back as a loud moan leaves my lips. "Oh fuuck Chris" I moan out loud as he continues to thrust his fingers into me at a rapid pace. "Tell me what you want," Chris says as his voice grows deep "I-I nee-" I try to say but can't finish the sentence. Chris suddenly pulls his fingers out of me and my eyes shoot open in frustration "Full sentences princess. Tell me what you want" he says his eyes darkening with arousal "I need- I need you in me Chris" I manage to squeeze out as my hips buck up yarning for him. His thumb presses against my lips before I open my mouth sucking on it. Without any warning, he pushes deeply into me causing me to let out a scream-like moan, tears forming in my eyes. Without letting me adjust he starts pounding into me his tip kissing my g-spot "Oh my god Chris you're so big" I moan as I throw my head back. He pounds deeply into me keeping the same rhythm hitting my g-spot with every thrust "Look at me" he says but I keep my eyes shut. "I said look at me princess," his voice getting deeper than before as he grabbed my jaw, and our eyes met. "Look at you, taking me so good princess," he says as he pushes his lips on mine my hand travels to his wet hair lightly pulling it and he places his hand on my thigh, our bodies sticking to each other like glue.
He continues to thrust deep and hard as my moans slip against his lips, my hands traveling to his back. He breaks the kiss and throws his head back, rolling his eyes and letting out an animalistic growl I feel my climax coming. "I- I- I'm close don't stop please don't stop Chris" I cry out as I arch my back, digging my nails into his back leaving scratch marks, bucking up my hips to feel him even deeper. Chris lets out a moan as his thrusts become more aggressive and faster. I dig my nails into the sand holding on to anything I can "I'm so close I'm gonna cum" I moan out as I feel my walls tightening around his cock. Chris hearing that thrusts in me harder than ever making me almost scream out in pleasure. His breathing became hitched as he trusted a few more times before cumming letting out a loud moan, leading to the knot in my stomach to unravel, I let out a pornographic-like moan as my orgasm took over me.
As we both came down from our highs, he pulled his dick out of me kissing me before laying in the sand next to me. He turned his head to look at me and said "Come here ma" and pulled me closer as I laid my head on his chest. We watched as the sun started to come up "See I'm not so scary after all" Chris said with a chuckle. "We should do this again" he continued and I nodded my head in agreement. "Common let's get you home," he said and we got dressed heading for his car.

part one
after your first kiss with luffy, everything becomes much more intense. luffy becomes addicted to you and he has no shame in showing it.
he never leaves your side and is always touching you in some way, whether that be his hand holding yours, his head in your lap as he takes a nap on the sunny, or his feet touching yours under the kitchen table. if you're working around the ship, suddenly it's captains orders that you come cuddle him immediately. whenever you dock on a new island, the captain grasps your hand and pulls you off to explore the lands together, and if you canât keep up with his fast pace run, he tells you to jump on his back, and then heâs off running again laughing as you cling onto him for dear life.
he will compliment you bluntly and genuinely and whenever it comes to his mind. there are no long monologues of love from him, but there is always honesty. he will just call you beautiful in a way that's just a fact. because it is a fact, he knows you're beautiful just like he knows the sky is blue.
he's constantly asking you 'to do that thing with our mouths' and after the 10th time of getting weird looks from those around you, you have to tell him it's called 'kissing' and then that becomes his new favorite word. he's addicted to the warm tingling feeling of your lips touching his. literally youâre chained up with your other crewmates captured by the foe that luffy decided to fight, and he stretches his head towards you with his lips puckered. in the middle of dinner, while eating his second servings, he kisses you with crumb covered lips. whenever you come up with a solution, he jumps on you and peppers your face with kisses. he can't stop himself.
he's extremely protective over you - physically and mentally. if you two are ever separated by an enemy, you can expect him to raise hell, he quiet literally drives himself and whomever is around him crazy worrying about you (once the enemy pirates reunited you and luffy, albeit in handcuffs, just so he would stop asking about you). it's not that he doesn't believe in your strength, he just knows what it's like to lose someone he loves and he will not lose you. he won't stop until you're safe at his side again. he's also protective of your peace and happiness, so anything that makes you uncomfortable (like perverted jokes from your skeleton crewmate) you can expect him to have an issue and he will swiftly put an end to it. this happy go-lucky captain knows when to lay down the law when need be.
he's your number one supporter. every time your bounty goes up, he folds it up and keeps it in his pocket to show everyone - friend or foe. he's so proud of you. whenever you take out an enemy his eyes light up in stars and he cheers loudly. when you two fight together and you land a punch he'd get so excited that he'd forget about the fight entirely and just wrap his rubbery arm around your waist three times and pull you in for a kiss. whenever you say he will be king of the pirates, his heart swells with joy and pride because he knows you'll be right there by his side. or in his lap. either way.
he loves to see you smile and will do anything to keep you happy. when you're upset, he'll be a clown. if you get sick, he'll search far and wide for a medicine to cure you. when you say you miss him he packs a picnic bag and find a spot on the beach for you two to have a moment alone together, it's a much appreciated gesture even if he eats all the food, he makes it up to you by reaching for a few flowers when you aren't looking and presenting them to you with a big smile. this is when he realizes that you like when he gives you gifts so expect to have a shelf full of things he brought for you - flowers, pretty stones, or other little trinkets from islands.
he's not concerned with labels, he just knows he wants you and only you and he wants you to want only him too. and you do. luffy doesn't keep secrets from you, you know exactly how he feels about you and that he's loyal to you to the end. not even the most beautiful warlord could catch his eye because you're all he sees. there isn't a "what are we" conversation (at least not while you're on your adventures together) because the label doesn't matter, you two just know.
he no longer likes to sleep alone at night, saying he canât handle not touching you for hours. you don't put up much of a fight when he comes to your bedroom because cuddling with your captain has become your addiction too. plus thereâs nothing sexual in his request he just loves to be by your side. you love to fall asleep with him and he loves to wake up with you, itâs a perfect match he says with a grin that makes your heart melt.
so yes, he's addicted to you and truthfully he sees nothing wrong with it.

Hiiii could you write about Carlos Sainz that he has a secret relationship with an Arab Muslim girl (she doesn't wear hijab) 24 years old, Y/N and Carlos' little sister her friend because they go to the same university from Madrid and Carlos always bothered her, he was always around Y/N whenever she was talking with a boy Carlos made them run away and that's how they became a couple but secretly it was due to Y/N's religion and Carlos likes to annoy her by teasing her face to face or sharing a message by pinching her side because she is ticklish and she also annoys him.
Thanks youu đ
Romeo to my Juliet - Carlos x Reader
Plot: After studying at the University of Madrid, and making friends with Blanca Sainz you were constantly around her older brother Carlos who was ⌠obviously obsessed with you!
A/N: Ive done research before writing this on Muslim culture and struggles, however I am not a person of colour, and do not want to cause any offence when writing this! Also the wording of this request did confuse me a little bit so Iâm hoping Iâve got everything that youâve wanted in here!
Carlos and you were two people you wouldnât pin together. You were quiet and reserved whilst he was loud and expressive. You were shy, whilst he was confident. But it was those differences that actually made you the perfect pair.
Being in a secret relationship with the Carlos Sainz wasnât easy, and neither is the story that came with it.
It started when you first applied to university. You got into the University of Madrid and your parents couldnât be more happy as your father had work in Spain taken from the Middle East, so it wasnât a difficult family move.
You were a very stylish girl despite being shy and with your outfits it wasnât hard to catch the eyes on campus. And that was how you met Blanca Sainz.
It was a colder day in Madrid, around November and you were in one of your favourite winter time outfits thatâs kept you warm and cozy, still not completely used to the cold winters Europe have compared to the Middle East.
You had this Burberry scarf on, a gift from you father and a gust of win caught you, immediately your hands grabbed for your skirt leaving your scarf to fly off from around your neck.
âOh my goshâ you gasp as you tried to reach out for it but it just flew off into the distance. You started to run after it, until you saw it hit a girl and practically strangle her.
âIâm so so so sorry! The wind ⌠and it just ⌠and oh my gosh Iâm so sorry, it hit you!â You gasp at the girl who looks over you before laughing.
âItâs ⌠a scarf Iâm fineâ she giggled.
That day you guys got coffee on campus before getting to know each other and youâd been fast friends since.
It wasnât until the end of your second year in university, your mum and dad had moved back home to the Middle East. And you didnât know what to do about summer break.
Blanca actually invited you to her family trip to Mallorca and to stay with her in her family home.
You felt bad, so you suggest the first few weeks are spent in your family home in Dubai. And she definitely didnât want to turn that down.
So of course you guys spent the summer, tanning, in your pool playing games with your mum and dad when they were free and going to get ice cream.
âYour house is insane, what the hell does your mum and dad do!â She asked looking around the 6 bedroom Villa your family owned.
âI donât actually know, but heâs a business owner of some sortâ you giggle, always too bored to listen to your father explain his career.
âThereâs an aquarium in your kitchen island âŚâ she points at it, mouth open wide.
âYeah, excessive i know but my dad adores his fishâ
âAnd your house it on the beach! AND thereâs a pool? I donât even know if I want to see the garage!â She exclaims.
âMmmmmm yeah my dads also a car collector. He actually left some in Spain in the house thereâ you offer.
âYour like so humble though! I - WHAT?â She asks in shock and you just laugh her off.
You guys definitely enjoyed your time in Dubai and your parents loved her, she was invited back for the Christmas holidays too.
Then when you got to Spain you met the rest of her family.
âMum dad, this is my friend Y/Nâ Blanca offers as you enter the home which was a beautiful Spanish Villa.
âAh Y/N weâve heard so much about you from Blanca when she callsâ her mother smiles. Ana comes running down the stairs immediately pulling her sister into a hug.
âAh you must be Y/N? Yes, you are gorgeous! Where are you from!â She grins pulling you into an unexpected hug.
âIâm from Dubai!â You smile and that night guy guys all get to know one another through board games.
It got to just after sunset when you realised that it was time to pray for Maghrib. You calmly excused yourself from the family. Blanca at this point knew when you had to pray and was always very respectful and actually intrigued at the way it all worked. She would be with you on campus in the pray room, or in a random corner of a cafe you guys were studying in and offer you her coat to kneel on if you didnât have one.
She was the sweetest and most understanding friend youâd ever had.
However, this was the time you met her older brother Carlos. You were just finishing up, in Blancas bedroom when someone came into the room.
âSorry Blanca, I didnât mean to be long if I was!â You smile turning round only to see a confused man behind you.
âErm sorry can I help you?â You ask and he still stands there with his big brown chocolate eyes just staring at you.
âA-sorry you must be, Y/N right? Blancaâs friend that she brought home?â He questions and you nod standing up, reaching out to shake his hand.
He looks down at it smirking before lifting it up and placing a gentle kiss on the edge making you gasp and go wide eyed.
âWell, welcome to the Sainz household. Are you excited about Mallorca?â He smiles and you nod, of course you were, youâd be waiting all summer for it.
And it was an unforgettable summer.
Carlos was ALWAYS around. He was like this little lost puppy and the only time you donât think he was around was when you showered or slept. He bothered you the whole summer, interrupting you and Blanca when you were trying to tan, or would splash you in the pool when you were lounging on a lilo. He was a menace, but there was a certain type of endearment to it.
He was also insanely protective over you. Whenever you all would go out to bars or restaurants or clubs, you got a lot of male attention, which to Carlos wasnât surprising.
You were the most beautiful person he thinks heâs ever seen, and he wants you all for himself.
âHey Bonita, why donât you come downtown with me, and Iâll show you a good time?â A random guy from the island had said to you in a club.
âIâm fine thank you, Iâm here with friendsâ you smile pointing behind you to the table where Carlos Blanca and Ana are sat.
âIâm sure they wonât mind, come on. ÂĄVive un poco!â He exclaims looking over you.
âShe said she was fine, and I would mindâ Carlos said in a gruff voice coming to stand behind you and hand on your shoulder.
The guy swiftly left, seeing who it was. Youâd gotten used to the fact that Carlos would be noticed in public, you tried to stay out of it as much as possible. Whenever a fan came over youâd practically glue yourself to Blancaâs side.
But all the guys that came talking to you Carlos had them running away for one reason or another. Whether it was just him, being Carlos Sainz, or the look he gave them or what he whispered to them when you couldnât here. They always left.
That was how Carlos and you ended up together. You were a modern day Romeo and Juliet. You knew your parents wouldnât approve of the Spanish race car driver, just based on all the tabloid articles about him.
âWe should leaveâ he said in a huff, he was always like this and a lot of the times that you left was because of Carlosâ changed mood.
âBut we didnât get here long ago!â You offer and he huffs again, getting more frustrated.
âJust, letâs just go home!â He says again, not touching you but giving you a look as if to say, I will drag you out of here.
âWe need to get Blanca and Ana, we canât leave them!â You say as you start to look around the club for the two girls, hoping they would protest to Carlos wanting to get you to leave.
âTheyâll be fine, letâs just go. They are pretty preoccupied anywayâ he nods towards them with their boyfriends and how they are dancing.
Next thing you know Carlos was dragging you home, poking at your side saying how you broke your good girl demeanour just to leave the club with him.
âI was in a club, I canât be that good of a girlâ you tease him back and he looks over at you with a sparkle in his eyes. Maybe it wasnât even there and it was just from the street lights, but he looked so happy and content in this moment that you couldnât help but stare.
After this summer, you and Carlos hide your relationship from everyone, you hated hiding it from Blanca the most as he would often come find you in Madrid after race weekends to keep you company.
And donât even start about him at family venues. Despite Carlos wanting to keep the relationship as secret as you did because of the media, and your parents, he wasnât very good at keeping his gestures subtle.
âCarlos, I havenât seen you for a while. And whose this, a girlfriend?â One of his aunts comes over seeing you together chatting at a family reunion his mother had hosted after his race win.
He pinched your side teasingly as if to say that you guys must look good together. And as you look up at his face you can see that.
âNo this is Y/N Blancaâs friend from universityâ he offers keeping up with the secret. And your look down smiling to yourself. It was fun in a way keeping up a little white lie that you were with Carlos.
âShame, sheâs a dime and you two would look great togetherâ she winks before fluttering off elsewhere in the house.
âSee someone else who thinks we look great togetherâ Carlos says leaning down to meet your eye level making you blush.
âCarlos leave Y/N alone, you tease the poor girl enough youâll give her a heart attack one day. Come on sweetieâ his mother guides you away, you turn round to catch Carlosâ eye before poking your tongue out in a childish manner.
He shakes his head with a slight chuckles as he watches his mum pull you away to a different crowd of people and introduces you.
When you and Carlos would admit your relationship was unknown, but you knew youâd never been happier than you were with Carlos Sainz Jr.

LEE HEESEUNG !
â kissing and other types of pda
heeseung and you were alone in the dorms, all the guys were out doing their own things and you both took that as an opportunity to spend time together.
the two of you were in the kitchen getting snacks and drinks for the movie marathon you were gonna have.
âhee, can you help me? i can't reach those chips.â
âsure thing, princess.â your stomach fluttered with butterflies as he came behind you putting his hand on your waist while the other one reached for the chips, making you let out a quiet gasp, which didnât go unnoticed by him. heeseung grabbed the chips and put them down on the counter, while his hand joined the other on your waist as he turned you around to face him. you smiled at him used to this type of behavior coming from him. you put your hands around his neck as his face comes closer to yours to connect your lips. you both shared a passionate kiss, moving your head to the side to kiss him deeper. you both missed to hear the sound of the front door opening and only realized someone was in the house when you heard the voices of jake and jay coming closer to the kitchen, making you pull out slowly from the kiss, unashamed by the fact they probably saw you guys kissing. you both looked at them who were frozen looking at you guys with a confused expression.
âbut werenât you âjust friendsâ?â jake asked, making quotation marks in the air.
âwe are friends.â you said shrugging.
rest under the cut !
PARK JONGSEONG !
â going out on romantic dates
today you woke up with a text from jay telling you that he was going to pick you up by 7:30 and that you should dress fancy. everyone was confused with whatever you and jay had going on. honestly to both of you it was very simple, you were both too lazy to put a label on it. it was obvious you two were way more than just friends. you started getting ready by doing your makeup since you were still indecisive with your dress. you went for your roommate to ask her for help-
âi canât choose which one to use today, jay didnât give me details about where weâre going so i donât know which one is more appropriateâÂ
yunjin looked at the dresses then at you. âthe black is not too much and not too little, so take that one. also when will you let me know what you two have going on or?â she said, waving her hand at you. you sighed at her tired of hearing her asking the same thing every time you went out with him. âiâm not going over this again yunjin.â you said making your way out of her room.
you finished getting ready and decided to snap a picture for jay. you sent it to him and he replied almost immediately.
jay: baby⌠you look so gorgeous fuck
jay: iâm almost there
you smiled at his text happy that you didnât need to have a label with him for you to know he was yours.
SIM JAEYUN !
â going on weekend getaways
jake loved taking you out to visit somewhere when he had his weekends off from work. it was hard for you both to go out for a few days since he had a busy schedule but you both still managed to spend time together.Â
you two were now in one of busanâs beaches watching the sunset, sitting in a blanket in the middle of the sand. the beach was secluded since it wasnât that hot yet. your head laid in jakeâs shoulder as he held your hands in his to warm them up.
âhow did we end up like this?â jake asks âwhy so suddenly?â you ask him, chuckling. âi donât know, just wondering how the hell i ended up taking my best friend on weekend getaways that arenât really friendly.â you took your head from his shoulder looking at his face, silently admiring his side profile. you smiled at him and said âlife makes us do the craziest thing i guess.â jake looked at you, making eye contact. his eyes scanned your face and he started leaning closer, making you do the same. your lips fell into his like a puzzle piece falling perfectly into its place. the fresh breeze from the beach blew into both of your hairs. jakeâs hand came up to your face, cupping your cheek and deepening the kiss. you felt his tongue swiping your lower lip, making you open your mouth and letting him explore your mouth. you both pulled out looking at each other, giving one last peck and going back to watch the sunset.
PARK SUNGHOON !
â giving each other giftsÂ
sunghoon loves spoiling you and it makes you feel bad because you donât buy him half of the things he buys you. he keeps reminding you that it really doesnât matter if you give him things or not because you alone are already enough to him. whenever he's traveling with the members in work or just a tripe he will be always saying âoh, y/n would love this.â and then proceeds to it for you. he doesnât even check the price and the others keep saying something like âi donât know why you spend so much money if you arenât dating.â he just smiles at them not knowing how to explain it to them. he comes back home to you with so many bags and a cheeky smile. you stare at him dumbfounded and he just sits besides you telling you to open them.Â
âsunghoon how much did you spend here?!âÂ
âit was just a little, don't worry about it.âÂ
you do the same thing as him, or almost. when you are out by yourself, just shopping for yourself or with friends, you see a clothing item that you are so sure he would love it so you go and check the price, almost crying when you look at it. either way, you take a deep breath and grab his size and take it to the cashier. when you give them your card you always fear it will decline, knowing you wonât shop anything else for the day. when you give him his present he smiles like a kid on a christmas morning. he barely looks at it before heâs pulling you into a hug and thanking you.
âbaby this looks so expensive, you didnât need to.â
âdonât worry hoon, it wasnât.â a big lie. it was and your wallet was crying, but for him you didnât mind it one bit.

chapter 1
TWO YEARS LATER
There should probably, definitely be a lot of things on Ellieâs mind right now but, truthfully, the exhaustion flooded them all out.
Sheâs been sitting next to Tommy in his shitty, busted, old truck in the densest silence sheâs ever been in, hurtling her way back to the place she was damn sure she was never going to see again just a few months back, and all she can think about is how badly she wants to close her eyes and finally fucking sleep, but he keeps throwing out questions randomly, and Ellie feels obligated to answer them all given the fact that he just picked her scrawny ass up from rehab following almost a year of no contact.
She takes in a sharp breath of air. It doesnât rattle her lungs as much as it used to. Then, she swallows, forcing a gulp down the dry enclosure of her throat, and turns to look at Tommy.
âHm?â
âAm I taking you to ours or yours?â
âWhat?â
âJesus- Am I driving you down to Maria and Iâs, or are you gonna go back to your old house?â
Ellieâs brain stutters.
The impending situation is suddenly becoming too real.
You were starring in the film in her mind ever since the one-way flight to LA, and every time you came up on screen, she felt her stomach wrench with longing, with guilt.
She was far from home, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by people whoâs faces were unfamiliar and, quite frankly, scary. She had no idea how the fuck she ended up where she did, but she knew that the thoughts she needed a distraction from required remedies more concentrated than whiskey.
The last few months were especially shit: stuck in that building with junkies who would be back in just as long as they stayed, with nothing to do but sit with every last one of those thoughts.
Joelâs death had beaten her to a pulp; she was only just beginning to be able to talk about him, to draw him, to remember him, without all the anger and all the all-consuming guilt. Only just beginning to do that after the absolute shit-show her life became for a long moment. Yes, Joelâs death beat the hell out of her, but she herself delivered the finishing blow.
There is a lot of guilt in Ellieâs life, towards Joel, towards Tommy, towards her friends, towards you â more than she can bear for this lifetime and maybe the next few too. So, like she promised herself, thereâs no use in any of it. All she can do is just focus on each day and try to make things right where she can.
The question plagues her mind, the one she has absolutely no right to ask, of whether or not youâll be there, whether or not you waited for her. She doesnât know which would be worse.
âMine.â
Tommy nods, glancing at her before shifting his line of view back to the road and Ellie lets out a small puff of air. She hopes things can go back to how they used to be between the two of them one day. Joelâs death also beat the hell out of Tommy. In fact, Ellie was slightly surprised to hear that Tommyâs place was âMaria and Iâsâ again, since they werenât exactly on good terms when she left, divorced and all.
âDo⌠Do you know if⌠sheâs still staying there?â
He goes quiet, dropping the coy exchange of practised words and turns to look at Ellie for longer than whatâs considered road safe.
â⌠Honestly, Iâm not sure. Havenât seen her in a while. But, come to think of it, I mustâve heard someone mentioninâ someâ about her stayinâ with someone for a while... You, uh, you sure youâre gonna be okay goinâ back to yours?â
âYeah⌠I mean⌠Itâs gotta happen eventually.â
Tommy nods, breathing out,
âThat it does,"
And Ellie reclines into the hardened cushion of the seat, pressing her cheek to it to rest, gazing out at the familiar sequence of buildings blurring by. She thinks she should probably drop by Dinaâs tomorrow.
Ellieâs become mythical.Â
âI just got a text from JesseâŚâ
You look up from your screen at Dina, who is sprawled out across from you on the couch. She sits up, all serious, and the look in her eyes tells you she knows youâre not going to like what youâre about to hear.
âHe said Ellieâs coming back to Jackson.â
Sometimes you have these⌠dreams, if you can even call them that; nothing about them is hazy or dream-like, just⌠like your mind opens up a part of itself that you keep closed when youâre in control and forces you to look at it.
Youâre lucid every time, of course, even your subconscious knows that itâs impossible for Ellie to be near you, to be smiling at you the way she used to.
No. She walked out and didnât look back. And, in all honesty, you can't even blame her for that. Not when she was falling apart back here just the same. Not when she wasn't even herself anymore, when the thoughts got a hold of her.
When you open your eyes, you canât bring yourself to look at your girlfriend laying next to you. She feels like a stranger who sleeps in your apartment sometimes.
Your mind strays, and you wonder if thatâs how Ellie felt about you. Then, you close your eyes again and try to soothe the nausea that inevitably builds in your stomach - flex your fingers to remind yourself that you're a living, breathing person, who canât just rot in sheets, clinging to morsels of sleep.
When Ellie left, there was a massive gaping hole in, not just your heart, but your entire life. You tried to stay put in the house but, God, it was painful. The dusty trinkets she left behind lining the desk alone were like totems of your one-man cult devoted to her.
You packed all your shit soon after, leaving Ellieâs exactly as it was.
At first, crashing at Dinaâs place was a temporary fix, but it turned out you desperately needed the company and Dina loved having someone around to bother too. Things got better slowly, or at least they stopped hurting as much.
So, every day, you stumble out of bed and get ready for the shitty little job you got to make yourself feel human again, kissing the girl youâve been fucking around with for way too long, and then waving goodbye to Dina as you go.
Youâre rebuilt, no longer in pieces like you were when she left. In fact, your mind doesnât look back on her much anymore, but there are traces of what she did to you in everything you do.
The way you put yourself back together, itâs a bit twisted up, not quite the same.Â
Dinaâs eyes never leave yours, gaze firm in its preemptive empathy, though thereâs not much use. Your mind must have malfunctioned; thereâs not a single emotion playing out in it right now but there absolutely, definitely should be. Youâre just not sure which.
After a tense moment passes, you hum in feigned pensiveness.
She was playing bigger venues is what you heard â sold out shows, collaborating with artists she used to dream of meeting, getting into scandals and posting snapshots of her new, flashier life, or at least her manager was.
You knew Ellie, and you were well aware that she felt like a phony doing shit like that.
But, then again, you thought you knew she wouldnât leave you for LA too.
A while back, it was radio silence. Her posts stopped, the new releases ceased abruptly, and it was as if she had vanished, dropped off the face of the planet.
Rehab is what the shitty gossip threads were saying. The things you began being told every now and then were hard to hear: she was foaming at the mouth, being seen in a random state thousands of miles away with little recollection of how she got there, drunk off her ass again at an awards show. Shards of glass, cutting through the fragile peace you'd built.
At the time, it still impacted you, of course. She was once your girl. But you were forced to look it in the eye: the fact that she was in the worst shape youâd seen her in when you came across images of her online, with sunken cheeks; yellowed, bloodshot eyes looking emptier than ever, and dry, chapped lips. Fuck, it made your stomach writhe with pain. She was still suffering, only scraps left of who she used to be.
Not that you expected anything other than deterioration.
Dina inhales sharply, nodding as she struggles through the wording of the question sheâs about to pose,
ââŚHow are you feeling?â
It doesnât matter though. None of that matters, because youâve moved forward. You live in a different neighborhood, with different hopes, a different job, and a different girlfriend.
ââŚIâm not exactly gonna welcome her with open arms, if thatâs what youâre expecting. But, you know what? Iâm okay.â
Different.
She nods again.
âI mean, itâs been a long time, D. Iâve moved on.â
Dina smiles at you reassuringly, and it pisses you off because why is she reassuring you? You said youâre fine, didnât you? What reason is there to be all empathetic?
âYeah, of course, I just wanted to make sure youâre okay. I mean, itâs completely normal to feel⌠upset, I guess, even if youâve moved on. She was still super important to you for some time in your life, even if things didnât exactly end well.â
âYeah⌠Well, I donât really wanna see her, but I hope sheâs doing better.â
She doesnât know what she expected, but she couldnât stay in that house.
The first step in was cautious, casting hesitant glances into the darkness in the hope that sheâd catch a glimpse of something that would tell her youâre home, before she took notice of the hollowness.
Everything was spotless and your things were gone.
The display case with your tea set was empty, the little trinkets on your bedside table were nowhere to be found, your side of the closet was barren, and every trace of the life you shared had disappeared. The house seemed to be cocooned in a layer of dust, preserving only the imprint of Ellie.
Youâd left the duvet and a pillow tapped up for her on the bed you shared if she ever did come home, but that bed is too big for her alone now.
Ellie turned around and walked out, leaving it all behind again. She wasnât sure where to go, though she was positive she needed to be alone, away from all the people sheâd hurt. Away from all the damage sheâd done.
So, she walks till her muscles ache out to a motel on the other side of town, praying the dark keeps her face hidden enough from anyone who might recognize her and makes a nest in the stained sheets and matted carpet floor, because she much prefers this discomfort to the one in that house. Alone with her thoughts and the mechanical whir of the AC, she doesnât want to cry; she doesnât have the right to, but when a tear escapes, the dam breaks. At least it helps her sleep better.
The night passes like a flash and daylight filters through the grimy motel windows, past Ellieâs tired eyelids. She stirs awake, rubbing a hand down her face groggily, and lays in the haze for a while.
Sheâs supposed to see Dina today. The only friend she really ever kept in contact with while on her long ass bender and throughout her stay at the facility was Jesse, because she couldnât bring herself to face Dina, not when she was in that state.
She has absolutely no idea what will happen, and itâs terrifying. But she canât deny that she feels a deep-seated anxiety that can only be satiated by asking Dina about you, though the questions themselves havenât exactly been decided on yet. She thinks sheâll quickly tire of having no idea what will happen but she doesnât have much of a choice, so she slinks out of bed and trudges over to the sink to freshen up before setting off.
After confusing the fuck out of a half-deaf old man at Dinaâs old apartment and a text exchange with one of their mutual acquaintances, Ellie finally shows up at what she really hopes is the right door and delivers a series of three shy knocks.
When the door is opened, she is immediately overtaken by a wave of warmth and the scent of freshly made pancakes. She still has a hard time getting food down but, honestly, sheâd start drifting through the air towards it if she were in a cartoon.
Then, she looks up and, for a moment, her face falls at the sight of another unfamiliar face, but her eyes catch a glimpse of someone else across the apartment and Ellieâs heart stills.
You stare down at the text Nathan just sent you with guilt-ridden relief. A family emergency means the cafĂŠ isnât going to open today, so you donât have to go to work.
Feeling happy that Nathan has a family emergency makes you feel a little ashamed too, because Nathanâs a standup guy, but you didnât get nearly enough sleep last night, and getting up to go to work with the tiresome deadweight of your eyebags is the last thing you need right now.
In truth, all that has been on your mind since that godforsaken exchange with Dina on the couch yesterday is Ellie, and the night following was a restless one. You laid in bed, staring at the ceiling with a permanent furrow in your brow that was making your face ache, unable to quiet the torrent of memories and emotions in your mind, feeling like you were back in that house again, trying to sleep the night after she walked out.
You tossed and turned, grasping pathetically for comfort, but every position felt like suffocation. In your dark and still room, you felt like you were going to rupture with the pressure of the whirlwind inside you against the confines of your skull.
Each second dragged out longer than the last. Each second, you remembered what it felt like to be with her and then to watch her fade, and it was all so vivid, so inescapable. Youâre not even sure if you can call it longing, because what settles in your stomach feels a lot more like anguish, distress, a desperate hope for her to be in a better place. You so badly want to believe youâve moved on from her, but the truth is so glaringly obvious that you canât even turn away from it, so you just close your eyes.
You donât want to think about her today. Youâll do anything to not think about her today.
You guess itâs a good thing Dina set off early because even the sight of her wouldâve reminded you of Ellie.
Instead, when you glance to your left at the rustle of bed sheets beside you and see Alexis rubbing the sleep from her puffy eyes, you smile softly and try to feel some semblance of warmth at the fact that you can just laze around with her for now.
Alexis smiles back, groggily stretching the arm tossed over your waist and running it gently along your side.
There is a sinking in the pit of your stomach, though, at the realization that things are getting very domestic for something that was supposed to be âcasual.â You know now more than ever that you cannot handle that.
When she leans in and works her lips on the crook of your neck, mumbling,
âMorninâ, sweetheart,â you take it as your queue to sit up, shifting away from her.
âGood morning, babe. I got the day off, so I think Iâm gonna start on breakfast. You want anything?â
Normally, sheâs the one who makes breakfast, but you try not to acknowledge that the guilt of your impending split pushes you to take the reins this time.
Alexis crosses her arms behind her head, watching intently as you tug on some pants and states,
âYou know, Iâm kinda in the mood for pancakes.â
While she clears up the scattering of wrappers discarded along the couch from the evening before, you set up at the stove, and for the first time in a long moment, the feeling is golden, laced with the gentle timbre of Sadeâs voice spilling from your phone as you put on your playlist and keep an ear out for the hiss of the coffee machine.
Your love is king, crown you in my heart.
The wall buzzes from the beat of a knock at the front door, but Alexis is already up on her feet, clarifying that sheâll âget it.'
Your love is king, never need to part,
You lift your head to offer a greeting from behind the kitchen island to the visitor and the air is choked out of your windpipes instantly. Around you, the noise and color fades to grey so all you can hear is the echo of your own heartbeat and a shrill ringing pounding in your ears, the blood rush making it feel like your whole body is palpitating.
Your kisses ring round and round and round my head,
Across the room, the air between you becomes charged and strained with the weight of the years that part you, the memories that became dust, crumbling beneath the pressure of careful fingertips.
Touching the very part of me, itâs making my soul sing,
Youâre suspended in the memorial waves like cicadas in amber, before Alexis breaks the spell, glancing between the two of you perplexedly,
âUh... Hey?â
Tearing the very heart of me, Iâm crying out for more.
You reach out and pause the song, your eyes meeting the text Dina sent just a few minutes prior.
đ đđ đđ đđđđđ˘
đđđđđ đđđđ đđđĄđđđ đđ đđđ˘đđđ đđđđđ đ đđ đđđđđđ đ đđđ đđđđđđđđđ đđ đđđđ˘đđđ đđ
đ đđđđđ đđđđ đđđđđđ đđđđ đđđđ
You take in a sharp breath of air, inflating your figure before you look back up at the wide-eyed girl standing in the doorway, whispering a weary,
âEllieâŚâ
Ellie doesnât quite catch it, pushing out a softer than intended explanation in the face of people looking at her like she is an alien.
"I... I came to see Dina."
You nod, slowly, unsurely, fingers curling around the edge of the countertop. When youâve finally mustered up the strength to speak, you respond,
"Sheâs gonna be out for a while. You can wait inside."
Youâre surprised by the harshness in your tone.
Ellie presumably is too, lingering in the doorway for a moment, and the tension in the room is palpable, so Alexis, makes up an out.
"I gotta go⌠grab⌠something,â
The auburn-haired girlâs gaze follows her as she leaves, before she quietly moves into the room, clicking the door shut behind her with a tightened jaw. She thinks that maybe if she stands still enough, itâll be like sheâs not even there, like she doesnât even exist, but when you bring Alexisâ mug of coffee to the table by the couch for her to drink, you pull the chair out wordlessly, eyes held fast to anything but Ellieâs, before going back the stove to turn it off.
"Who's she?" Ellie wants to ask. Sheâs not an idiot, so she doesnât.
Instead, she sits down quietly, watching you with weary eyes.
Ellie doesnât look so gaunt anymore. At a certain point, she couldnât even recognise herself when she looked in the mirror. Sheâs still too skinny, hair dishevelled, eyes red, and her face is littered with small scars and the remnants of a black eye, but you can look at her without wanting to break down now, or at least not for the same reasons.
You say a silent thank you to whoeverâs out there looking out for her and then turn around to face her.
âI⌠Iâm sorry, I shouldâve⌠I didnât mean to⌠I didnât kno-â
âItâs fine, Ellie.â
A beat passes before she looks up at you, eyes wide,
âHow⌠How have you been?â
You try to take in air without it catching as you respond, keeping your eyes on the counter.
âIâm okay.â
âGood⌠Thatâs good.â Ellie picks at a loose thread on the hem of her sleeve, chewing at her bottom lip, âIâm sorry.â
It comes out a whisper, breathless, and you close your eyes before saying,
âYou know what, Ellie? It was hard at first. Really hard. I got really lonely, and I missed you a lot. I tried to make it work in that place and it just didnât. But its been 2 whole years. Iâm⌠Iâm not the same...â
âI really am sorry. I fucked up- I should never have gone to LA. I never shouldâve-â
She takes a moment to breathe, squeezing her eyes shut as she tries to work through the explosion of thoughts, wishing sheâd just kept her mouth shut, wishing sheâd had more time to think of what to say, wishing sheâd just stayed in that fucking motel room.
âI shouldâve tried harder to get better⌠ I-I know that⌠it might not be possible, but I checked myself into rehab, and⌠and I want to try to make things right⌠I just- I donât want to live like that anymore, I donât wanna be alone anymore-â
You let her speak, the lump in your throat growing painfully as you watch her fumble sadly through her words.
âI know we canât go back to how things used to be- I just⌠want to make things right and I donât know how or what that means but-â
Alexis walks back into the room, making her way over to Ellie with a tight-lipped smile before she can finish what she wants to say.
âSorry, had to go do that thing. Itâs nice to meet you, Iâm Alexis, she mustâve told you already but Iâm her girlfriend.â
Ellie looks up at her with wide eyes,
âOh.â
She holds her hand out to shake and Ellie takes it before reclining into her seat silently, staring at the wooden table in front of her.
Suddenly, it has become very apparent to Ellie that she lost her place in your life a long time ago, as a friend and as a partner, and she feels like an alien again.
She clenches her jaw.
âItâs⌠Uhhh, itâs nice to meet you too but I should get going. Dina wonât be back for a while so thereâs⌠no point in sticking around.â
You think of stopping her, of telling her to sit back down, but you know this is for the best as you watch her scramble to her feet, looking like a kicked puppy, and walking back out the door.
Things will never be the same. You canât go back to how things were, and your head knows you shouldnât trust Ellieâs words.
But, when she sat in front of you at that table, telling you she didnât want to be alone anymore, you thought you saw something you havenât seen in a long time, a sliver of your Ellie. Of her old self, of her resilience, of her will, of her love and hopes.
And you so badly want to believe youâre over her, but the truth is looking you right in the eye, and some supermassive weight has lifted off your shoulders.
âDude, was that literally Ellie fucking Williams?!â

Stardew Bachelors x Rude!Farmer Reader Headcanons
Summary: A new farmer has moved into Stardew Valley and...wait, how come they're always seen with a scowl on their face?! And why are they so mean?!
Warning(s): Fluff, Mean! Farmer, Doesn't contain all the bachelors! (I've only included Elliot and Sebastian since I didn't want things to become too long!), Farmer is low-key more of a tsundere to be honest, Slight favoritism to Sebastion at the end, !not proofread!
Note: As much as I love sweet-hearted farmers. I also love my mean, tsundere-esque farmers as well <3

Elliot
:: Elliot had heard about the rumors a week before you arrived. That the grandchild of the late deceased farmer, who once cared for the old farm a little ways away from town, would be moving in soon. He thought a new face around town would be nice. After all, Elliot was fairly new to the town himself! He thought the two of you could share in your common experience of being new to the environment and possibly build a friendly bond.
At leastâŚuntil the week you were supposed to arrive rolled around.
The rumors of you being rude. He swore they spread faster than you had actually been here.
First it was from overhearing a conversation between Gus and Lewis on Friday.
The way Lewis described you was like hearing a weary night regale his tale of how he narrowly escaped the fiery breath of a dragon. âTheyâveâŚdefinitely got an attitude.â Elliot heard Lewis say.
âIâm struggling to find the resemblances. Looks aside, theyâre rude! They threatened me the other day when I tried to ask if they could do me a favor!â
Elliot wouldnât exactly deny that the possibility of you being rude made him nervous. Everyone in town was so nice that having someone mean would be like a black sheep sticking out in the middle of white sheep, you just wouldnât belong. Yet when he had happened upon you once fateful morning on the beach/
âThe hell you lookinâ at Prince Charminââ You spat in his direction when he stared too long.
His eyes widened. âN-Nothing! Forgive me, Iâve never seen you before.â
âIâm new here, thatâs why.â
He cleared his throat. âSo I seeâŚâ He stood in place a little while longer, observing you as you crouched down to collect items from the beach. Your appearance didnât match your attitude, he thought. Your appearance was like that of nobility to him, graceful with certain details accentuating personality and your life on the farm.
From slightly muddied knees and a few scraps here and there.
But your tongue was like a freshly sharpened knife.
âThe fuck?â You hissed at him again, snapping him out of his trance. âWho the hell you looking at? Got a problem?â
âN-No!â You dropped your bag full of items before you walked right up to him, your mouth nearly curling upwards like an angry feline.
âYeah? You sure? Youâre staring mighty hard for someone you A. Donât know and B. Is just trying to go about their day! So whatâs the problem?!â
Elliot chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry once again, it's just- I think you're really gorgeous to look at. The tales of your fiery temper did nothing to speak of your beauty as well." You paused at the compliment, your cheeks beginning to redden as your temper started to ease down considerably.
Besides the compliments towards the farm and your weapon prowess when you first joined the Adventurer's Guild. You didn't hear too many compliments about yourself, the only thing you'd hear was
"That new farmer is scary aren't they? They're completely unlike their grandfather!"
"Why did her grandfather entrust the farm to them? With their attitude, they'll probably soil the crops just from their glare."
To say it didn't hurt from time to time was an understatement. It wasn't your fault that you had a mean scowl on your face 24/7 and sometimes you had a habit of speaking about how you actually felt about someone before thinking about your words!
So, to hear a compliment? You couldn't help the way it made your heart flutter and your chest begin to warm.
Not that you would let this lonely beach writer who talked like some actor from Medieval Kingdom know that.
"...Thank you." You finally mumbled under your breath.
A smile graced Elliot's features. "You're welcome."
There was a comfortable silence for a few minutes before you turned around to quickly pick up your backpack before walking off. But, not before Elliot could get another line in. "You should visit my cabin sometime! I love visitors!"
Although there was no response, for the next few months afterward, however, he kept strangely receiving duck feathers and ink bottles at his front door every other day...
Sebastion
:: The first time he had even heard the rumors of a new farmer. He was talking to his mother about her day and also alerting her that he would be out for a while riding his motorcycle. His mother had made sure to tell him to "be safe!" and likes before she told him that someone new would be moving into the old farm a little ways from town.
He hadn't thought much of it.
'Just another face in the crowd' he thought while also wondering why someone would even choose to go to this town where the most interesting thing that happened was when a slime got loose in the middle of town a while ago!
Until...the words of how rude and snappy you were began to pop up.
"That new farmer has no manners!"
"They're so mean..." He also heard Lewis say. "All I asked was for them to retrieve a...special item from Marnie's house and they said 'Get it yourself'"! Sebastion didn't see anything wrong with the supposed 'attitude' you were giving people in town, in his mind? He thought it was about time that someone had tried to bring a different energy to the town besides being yet another happy-go-lucky person who wanted to help everyone and anyone!
And even when he bumped into you one midnight evening...a sword in his hand as he wanted to go exploring the mines in order to try and put himself to sleep, his opinion of your supposed attitude remained the same.
Though, as he saw the piles of dead Shadow Brutes around...he did have a mind to be a little more weary of you. No one had told him that you were capable of slaying multiple Shadow Brutes on your own.
"You lost gloomy?" Were your first words to him as you pushed your hair back out of your face, snapping him back to reality.
He glared at you. "I could ask the same of you. Whose out fighting Shadow Brutes at midnight?"
"Me," You responded. "Something that I wouldn't expect you to do seeing how you're as skinny as a twig."
His mouth dropped a little, his annoyance with you growing as well as his interest of you. You were mean, that was no question but...unless his ears were playing tricks on him due to him not interacting with too many other people besides his friends.
He could've sworn there was a little bit of playfulness in your voice.
"I may be skinny but I've been down these mines before." He said, walking past you with a grumble as he started to look around the area for anything valuable.
As you looked Sebastion over, your mouth cracked upward a little more in an amused smile. You had just arrived at the valley, and joining the Adventurer's Guild was a good way to blow off some steam and clear your mind by fighting mindless monsters. You hadn't really thought about talking to any of the residents besides the essential ones such as Pierre, Robin and sometimes Lewis from time to time.
But, you were beginning to change your mind.
"You managed to make it all the way down to level 100 in the mines gloomy, maybe you wouldn't mind accompanying me to level 120?"
Sebastion looked back at you with a huff. "You probably wouldn't want a 'twig' coming with you."
"Even twigs can have their usefulness, don't be a wuss."
His eyes narrowed. "I'm not a wuss."
You stuck your tongue out playfully. "Then prove it! Killing those Squid Kids can be a tricky process at times." As you walked passed him, you playfully shoved him as a cocky laugh escaped you. "Who knows? Maybe you'll even upgrade from a twig to a branch."
He could've ignored you, he wanted to ignore you but...as you sauntered away cockily, climbing down one of the ladders into the next level. He couldn't deny that you were interesting despite your need to tease him despite the two of you just meeting, you may have had an annoyingly high urge to tease but...strangely enough?
He liked it.

Joe Toye
âThe Bunny and The Foxâ

These stories may not fall entirely in accordance with the TV series timeline. I do not know the real soldiers the actors portray in this series, so please understand I show no disrespect. Some or most of historical events and character interactions in my fanfics are fabricated purely for the sake of the enjoyment of fiction*
~~~~~~~
He always appeared soâŚ.serious. His face in a constant state of pissed off and disdain. If looks could kill, Joe Toye (and Johnny Martin) wouldnât have needed weapons in the war.
You avoided him all through Toccoa. He just seemed like the type to leave the hell alone. But every now and then, you caught a glimpse of him smiling or laughing with the guys.
âNot bad.â Youâd think to yourself as you admired his smile.
Since you trained with Easy as a medic, you rarely had an excuse to speak to him unless he was injured. Even then you kept your conversation short and sweet with hardly any eye contact. But with his low raspy voice came a sense of calm while you took care of him. You supposed he seemed friendly enough.
~~~~~~
June 1944 Post D-Day
Orders were given to take Carentan where German soldiers were being sheltered. Carentan was the main crossroad between Cotentin and Calvados where the ally force's tanks needed passage to attack the main objective, Cherbourg.
"Listen up!" LT Welsh shouted. "It'll be dark soon. I want light and noise discipline from here on. No talking, no smoking. And no playing grab-fanny with the man in front of you, Luz. We're taking Carentan. It's the only place where armor from Omaha and Utah Beach can link up and head inland. Until we take Carentan, they're stuck on the sand. General Taylor's sending the whole division."
Some of the men began to grumble under their breath. Everyone started to stir to gather their gear to begin the journey to Carentan.
Walking in a file formation on each side of the road to Carentan. You found yourself walking in front of Toye as Perconte proceeded you.
âHey Toye, why you always in the middle when we convoy anywhere? Ainât you ever in the front?â Guarnere teased.
âI go wherever the medic goes in case I get hit, Bill.â Joe responded.
You blushed and dared to sneak a glance behind you. As you did, Toye met your gaze shooting you a quick wink. You quickly look back to the front embarrassed he caught you acknowledging him.
âAwe now look what ya did. You scared her.â Guarnere teased.
You hear some of the guys laugh.
âMaintain your noise discipline.â Winters reminded.
~~~~~~~
"MEDIC!!"
You and Doc on separate ends of the streets trying to keep low to tend to the wounded.
You rush to two soldiers landing on your knees next to them, one on the ground with a trail of blood coming from his helmet, the other crouching over him.
"He's still breathing, help me carry him!" You call out. You each grab an arm of the injured soldier and drag him behind a building.
While you're working on the nameless soldier's head wound, a drug store gets blasted by German artillery not far from where you were, the force from the explosion sending you sideways into the brick wall next to you.
You shake your head to stop the ringing in your ears. Everything you could hear was distant as your vision became fuzzy and dark. You start to smack your ear trying to make it pop so you can get back to your senses.
âY/L/N! We gotta move! Get up!â Toyeâs muffled voice yelled out.
He grabbed you by the arm pulling you up to your feet. You still couldnât barely see so you held onto his arms for dear life.
âI-I canât see nothinâ Joe!â You called out to him.
âOk, come onâŚUP we go!â You hear him grunt as he threw you over his shoulder.
You feel him trotting to safety while blast after blast erupted all around you. You feel him lower you as gently as he could to the ground against a wall.
âHey, look at me.â Toye said as he guided your face towards his, âCan you see me now?â
You shake your head, âNo, itâs all dark and blurry.â You reply as tears started to stream down your cheeks.
Were you going blind?? Is this it? Youâre not going to be able to see your familyâs faces? Never see your own reflection? You feel yourself slipping into shock.
âHey! Stay with me now, ok doll? Donât cry. Docâs on his way.â You hear Toyeâs voice break through your thoughts.
Doc ducked behind the wall with you and Toye.
âWhatâs the mattaâ with her?â You hear Gene ask.
âShe canât see. Says everything is blurry.â
âGene, I think Iâm going blind. Am I going blind??â You asked panicked trying to reach out for him.
âWhat happened before she couldnât see?â
âA shell dropped right by her and she went flying into a brick wall.â
Gene nodded, âThatâll do it. You got a concussion, Y/L/N, you ainât goinâ blind.â
You released a sigh of relief.
âJoe, can you get her back to HQ? She ainât no good out here if she canât see nothinâ.â
âI got her, Doc.â
~~~~~~~
Toye got you back to an aid station not long after Easy Company claimed victory over Carentan. You remained there until the following day after your vision returned. As you approached a group of the guys from Easy, you were welcomed with whoops and cheers.
âHey! Look who it is!â Luz called out.
All the guys turned to find you walking towards them.
âHey look what the cat dragged in!â Malarkey joked.
The chorus of laughter from the men lifted your spirits.
âYeah, I look rough, I know. Thanks guys.â You greet.
You looked around for Toye.
âHeâs over there.â Luz pointed out as he gestured with is thumb over his shoulder.
âOh, I just, uh, wanted to thank him for-â you began.
â-yeah, yeah we know. Heâs over there.â Malarkey interjected pointing down the street.
You feel yourself get flustered so you scamper off to where they said Joe was. As you walk through the rubble that Carentan has become, you see Toye standing in a circle with a few of the other guys from Easy. He throws his cigarette butt on the ground, stomping it out with his boot before he turns and sees you.
His face lights up when he saw you walking up.
âHey there she is!â Guarnere hailed.
Bill met you and extended his hand for you to shake, which you obliged.
âGood to see you, Bill.â
âGlad to see you up and about, doll.â He pulled you in closer, âSomeoneâs been real worried about you since they left you at the aid station, by the way.â He disclosed.
You pull back and met Billâs face with confusion. He winked and motioned over to Toye with his chin.
âGo on and say hi to him.â Bill added.
You narrow your eyes at him and smile. You slowly approach Toye as he stood there with his hands in his pockets and smirking as he patiently waited for you.
âHey, Toye.â You squeak.
âHey, Y/L/N. Good to see you.â He replied with his signature husky voice.
âWell, if it werenât for you, I probably wouldnât be here. Thank you for helping me.â You say as you leaned in and kissed him on the cheek.
You hear Guarnere whistle. You turn around and shake your head at him.
Toye cleared his throat, âIt was nothinâ.â
You both stood there awkwardly until Bill came over.
âHey, the guys were going to go to the bar that survived the wreck. You wanna join us later for a few night caps, Y/L/N?â
âSure, if I can find a place to get cleaned up.â
âOk itâs that little place over there. Weâll all be there around 1900, aight?â
You knew Bill was scheming something for you and Toye. You look at him suspiciously.
âOk, Iâll see you guys there later.â
~~~~~~~
You breeze through the front door of the pub and begin scanning the room for the familiar faces of Easy.
âHey! Y/F/N! Over here!â Guarnere called out waving his hand.
You push through the crowd to get to the table where most of your guys were sitting. You catch Toye playing darts with LT Compton, Luz, and Heffron.
âWhat can I getchya?â Bill asked.
âOh, whatever youâre drinking, Bill.â You reply.
âCominâ right up.â He announced as he walked to the bar.
You look back to Toye and catch his eyes looking at you too. He smiled and raised his glass to you with a wink. You smile back and give him a little wave.
âHere ya go.â Bill returned handing you a pint glass of beer.
You cheers and take a hearty gulp.
âThanks, Bill.â You say as you squeeze his arm.
~~~~~~~
The night was filled with laughter, banter, and taunts amongst Easy. And somehow, your glass kept getting magically refilled by each of the guys. You had to refuse Malarkeyâs offer to buy your next round because you felt your head starting to spin.
âOk, weâll slow down.â Don chuckled, âBut when youâre ready, I got the next one!â
âYessir.â You quipped.
You turn towards the dart boards and see that Toye had moved. You began to search the room for him and suddenly stop at the bar where he was talking to a local woman dressed in a tightly fit dress.
You felt a distinct sense of dread mixed with anger, but you werenât sure why. The longer you watched Toye leaning closer to whisper in her ear while she giggled, the more your rage boiled over inside.
âWhatâs the matter, doll? You gotta look on ya like youâre gonna murder someone.â You hear Guarnere chime in.
You avert your eyes to the floor.
âItâs nothing.â You say quickly.
Bill looked where you were just looking.
âWell ainât that a son of a bitch. After all the trouble I went through to set youâs guys up, he goes and finds another bird to chat up.â
You look at Bill, âWhat do you mean set us up?â
Bill looked at you alarmed.
âOh, well, I thought you knew. Toye over there has got it real bad for ya. Has ever since basic but he figured he never had a chance. I told him you were a catch and that you had a thing for him too.â
âOh do I now?â You asked astounded by his response.
âWell, donâtchya?â
âI suppose heâs handsome. Good soldier. But looks like heâs not as sweet on me as you think.â You state as you gesture to Toye by the bar getting disgustingly close to the blonde bombshell.
âAh, heâs an idiot. Heâs just trying to get laid.â
You look at him with daggers behind your eyes. Billâs eyes widen.
âUh, what I mean is he donât care about her, ya know? Heâs trying to not think about you because he thinks youâre outta his league.â Bill hastily explained.
âYeah? Well, Iâll get his attention.â You declare as you storm off towards the bar.
âAh shit.â Bill mumbled to himself rolling his eyes.
You walk up to a soldier from Fox Company standing a few feet away from where Toye was with his new little friend. You approach the bar and slightly bend over to the surface of the bar and rest your elbows on it. The soldier noticed you right away and a devilish grin appeared across his face.
You look over at him and smile.
âHey, angel, youâre the prettiest face in here.â He said as he scanned you from head to toe.
You see Toye look over the blondeâs shoulder at you. So you inched closer to the stranger.
âAt least someone noticed how hard I worked on my make up tonight.â You say loud enough for Joe to hear.
Toyeâs jaw started to tighten. Your plan was working like a charm.
âWhat are you talkinâ about? Youâre a dish!â He returned enthusiastically, âCan I get you a drink?â
âA pint is fine.â
Toye excused himself from the company of his little vixen and approached you with obvious vigor. He stopped so close to you, you can feel his breath on your face.
âYou think you should have anymore?â Toye asked in a low gravelly tone.
You were almost a puddle at his feet.
âWhatâs one more?â You dismiss.
âHey, buddy, this oneâs mine. Get lost.â The Fox soldier warned.
Toye glared at him, a clear warning with his fierce gaze to back off. âShut up.â
He turned back to you. âYou hit your head hard yesterday. You got a concussion, remember? Drinking too much isnât good for you right now.â He cautioned.
The soldier behind Toye huffed outloud. You bring your face closer to his.
âHow about you go on back to your little blonde bunny over there and worry about her?â You say softly staring intensely into his eyes.
You snidely smile and gently push him aside to accept the beer the Fox soldier was holding for you. Toye grabbed your wrist before you could get your fingers around the glass.
âBecause Iâm worried about you.â He sternly replied.
âHey, pal, Iâm not gonna tell ya-â
Before the guy could finish his sentence, Toye swung and punched him across the face sending him to the ground like a sack of potatoes.
âJoe, what the hell is the matter with you?â You bark.
He turned to face you, his teeth clenched and resentment in his eyes.
âIsnât this what you wanted? You got my attention.â He said raising his arms to the side.
Just then, another Fox Company soldier soared in and tackled Toye. When Guarnere saw Toye get sacked, him and the rest of Easy rushed in, clashing with Fox Company in a battle royalĂŠ in the middle of the dance floor.
You grab a bottle of whiskey and force your way into the horde to smash it over the head of one of the opposing soldiers when you suddenly feel your feet swiftly leave the floor, and you find yourself once again thrown over Joe Toyeâs shoulder as he rushes out the front door.
You start to push off of his back to look at him.
âWhat are you doing?? Put me down, NOW! This is completely barbaric! Were you raised by wolves??â
âShut your mouth.â Toye said sharply.
He wouldnât cave no matter how hard you struggled. He continued to carry you until he got to the house where you had been staying at with the field nurses. He opened the front door and practically threw you onto the couch in the main corridor.
âYouâre an absolute animal, Joe Toye.â You snarled at him.
âYeah? You havenât even seen the worst of it yet.â He retorted.
You stood up, only to lose your balance and fell backward on to the couch again.
âWell save it.â You spit back crossing your arms, âYou can go now. Iâm sure that little dish at the bar is waiting on you.â
Toye furrowed his eyebrows at you, âYouâre the only one even thinking about her. I havenât even given her a second thought since you walked through the door of that place!â
You scoff, âSure, Joe. Didnât seem like it when your hands were all over her like a magnet.â You pointed out as you stood up slowly.
âYeah?â He queried as he closed the gap between the two of you, âYou mean like this?â
He roughly grabbed you by the waist and kneaded your hips with his strong calloused hands as he pulled you into him. Your faces so close, you thought he was going to kiss you, but he only hovered over your mouth. You were a deer in the headlights, your words caught in your throat somewhere. You almost forgot to take breath when you started to feel faint, so you took in a deep breath through your nose to recover.
You put your hands on his chest and started to push away.
âWhat are you doing, Toye?â You manage to say.
He jerked you back into him, slithering his one hand across the small of your back while the other one firmly caressed the swell of your ass. You tried to protest, but your voice betrayed you only allowing a whimper to escape from your throat. This man had you a melting hot mess in his arms and it only made you angrier that he was getting you flustered.
âWhat? Got nothinâ snarky to say now, sweetheart?â He teased.
The fire inside you began to rise, and you werenât sure if it was because you were turned on, or pissed off.
âI hate you.â You sneered as you slipped out of his grasp and headed for the staircase.
Before you could lift your foot to take the first step, you feel yourself twirled back around and face to face with Toye in his arms.
*âHalf of the people in the world are womenâŚWhy does it have to be you that stirs me?â* He growled before grabbing the back of your head to bring your mouth to his.
You wanted to fight back and push away again, but your body fought you, leaning into his body and fisting his uniform jacket to pull him as close as possible to you. You part your lips to allow his tongue to pass and explore yours. You playfully nip at his bottom lip eliciting a deep guttural groan from him. His hands scoured your body as his hips instinctively pushed his hard on against you. You dig your nails into his shoulders as you moan into his mouth.
You pull back, âLetâs take this upstairs.â
Toye only replied with a mischievous grin, then picked you up bridal style to carry you up the stairs. When you direct him to your room, he set you down to secure the door. Right at the moment he turned around, you forced him against the door and hungrily kiss him while unraveling his tie.
He grabbed you by the shoulders swinging you around pinning you against the door with a âthudâ then placed his hand around your throat. He tightened his grip enough to make a point he was in charge, but not hard enough to alarm you. You instinctively grab his wrist with both hands as you clenched your thighs together, hoping to get some friction against your core and to prevent the wetness from dripping down your leg.
You hissed through your teeth as a smile stretched across your face. Toye pressed himself harder against you, the bulge in his pants grinding into your pelvis. You slide one hand away from his wrist gradually finding your way to his belt buckle. His fingers around your neck increased their grip.
You ran your tongue along your lower lip. He looks from your eyes to your mouth as a smirk tugs at the corner of his mouth. He suddenly scooped you up from behind your thighs wrapping your legs around his waist and carried you over to the bed, dropping you on your back onto the mattress.
He removed his tie, then with one hand unbuckled his belt all the while staring at you like a starved wolf about to pounce on his prey. You scoot to the edge of the bed and start to unbutton your uniform top. He situated himself between your spread knees at the edge of the bed.
You look up at him through your lashes and smile as you start to work on removing his pants. Your top partially open with your cleavage peaking through, he fisted the front with both hands and yanked the blouse off your shoulders. You wiggle out of the shirt and drop his pants and briefs as he removed his uniform top.
Now you were both ravenous for eachother just yanking off articles of clothing and throwing them carelessly onto the floor. Finally when he slid your panties off, a devilish grin graced his face when he saw how wet you were for him.
He looked at you roguishly as he glided two of his fingers up and down your drenched slit.
âIs this all from me?â His gruff honeyed voice had you melting in his hand.
You nod without breaking eye contact. He crawled over you, caging you in between his brawny arms. As his hardened dick rested on top of your center, he started to grind into you, coating the tip of his cock with your slick between your folds.
You couldnât help but arch your back, rhythmically moving your hips with his to feel him rub against your clit. Your needy sighs spurred him on, knowing he was making you feel so good.
âOh my God, Toye-â
âNo. No more âToye.â I want to hear you say my name.â He commanded.
You stare at him.
âFucking say it.â He ordered.
âJoeâŚâ you breathed as you playfully nip at his lower lip, greedily locking onto his mouth.
He lifted you by the ass and pushed his length through your dripping entrance with one fleeting thrust forward.
You gasp then wrap your legs around his waist, waiting for the ride to begin. Joe unleashed over a yearâs worth of pent up rage and frustration from the war onto you, railing into you in almost a deliciously painful pace. He was rough, and aggressive, yet attentive and sensual.
He sat up resting on his heels and angled you closer into him by hugging your thighs against him and driving into you, hitting that spot that had you edging to your finish.
He feels your walls constricting around his cock, and starts to slow his tempo. You look at him with a pout.
All you could manage was a strained, âWhy?â
He pulled out and hastily flipped you onto your hands and knees. He reached around your front under your arms once again grabbing your throat with his perfect hand. He pulls you back until your back was flush with his chest.
He guided the back of your head to rest on his shoulder before he turned to your ear.
âYou think that fucking Fox Company chump couldâve done this for you?â He hissed.
You feel his grip constricting your neck. Youâre so fucked out you canât help but laugh.
âFucking answer me, sweetheart. You think that assholeâs got anything on me?â His voice rumbling in your ear like thunder.
You start to pant, your bare chest and peaked nipples heaving from overstimulation and restriction of oxygen.
âNo, Joe. Never.â You huffed.
You feel his lips curl into a smile against your jawline. He nipped at your ear.
âThatâs right, baby.â He purred before he thrusted you forward on all fours.
He lined his dick up with your slippery pussy and entered you with a sweet push forward until he bottomed out. He plummeted into you, spanking you occasionally while his hips slammed into you.
âMy God, Joe.â You moaned pushing back into him so he can get inside you as deep as possible.
âYeah, scream my name so all Fox Company can hear.â
He had a vice grip on your waist, guiding you back everytime his hips came forward. The slams of his front against your ass grew steadily louder with groans and grunts between the two of you.
His stride began to stagger, and you could feel him pulsate inside you.
âIâm getting close, sweetheart.â You hear his low rugged voice from behind you.
âMe too, Joe.â
âI know, I can feel you squeezing on me. Let go, baby.â He hummed.
He reached around finding your clit and began rubbing hard circles onto the bud.
You close your eyes and focus on the sensation of where his hands were and the throbbing of his cock inside you then hearing his voice roar,
âCome on, baby, let go for me.â
He chased your orgasm until he felt your walls fluttering around his cock. You throw your head back practically howling as ropes of Joeâs cum released over and over again inside you. A guttural grunt left Joeâs lips as he groped your ass to have something to hold onto to steady himself.
Sweat glistened on his chiseled torso while he caught his breath. He snatched the hand towel by the basin next to the bed to clean you up after he pulled out. He plopped onto the bed next to you, pulling you into him to hold you.
You each sigh, content and relaxed in eachotherâs afterglow.
âYour little bunny friend is going to be heart broken.â You joke.
Joe chuckled, âYeah, I have that effect on people.â
You giggled.
âI got my girl right here.â He added.
Joe looked down adoringly at you with your head on his shoulder, sensing his eyes were on you, you look up at him. He gently kissed your lips, then rubbed his nose on the tip of yours.

Word Count: 4k (and some change)
Summary: Reno is forced to go on vacation after getting pretty beat up on a mission. He takes advantage of his time off to visit the Honeybee Inn, where he becomes enamored by one of the waitresses.
Warnings: fem!reader, shinra counts as a warning, mentions of sex work (more implied than explicit i think), alcohol, kissing, over all pretty tame
A/N: This is part one! I know for sure there will be a second part, but I'm not sure if there will be more than two parts yet. I didn't even anticipate it being two parts, but it just kept getting longer!
Reno heard whispers about the Honeybee Inn for as long as he could remember. Especially once he started working for Shinra. Even the most button-down workers couldnât resist heading down to Sector 6 to check out the shows.Â
âItâs the perfect place for a guy to unwind,â heâd heard some middle manager say in the cafeteria one day.Â
Pft. As if Turks have time for that kind of fun.
His luck changed when he found himself a little beat up after a mission, and Tseng had ordered him to take a vacation. There were many things for a young, scrappy guy like Reno to get into. He tossed around the option of heading to Costa Del Sol to hang out with the cute girls on the beach, or maybe even going to the Golden Saucer for some flashy fun. Then, he remembered the excited whispers surrounding the Honeybee Inn. Heâd heard it can be hard to get into, but he was confident he could throw his status as a Turk around to get in, at least for a show. If it sucked, he figures heâd still have time to actually do something fun on his vacation.Â
After a couple of days of mostly sleeping and ordering takeout, he headed down to Wall Market to see what all the fuss was about. Heâd been here a few times for some missions, but heâd never been afforded the luxury of leisure time down there.Â
Thereâs a crowd around the door, people trying to buy tickets or even just get a peek inside. Reno wonders if itâs truly that big of a deal or if people are just buying into the hype. Heâs seen firsthand how easy it is for the masses to be swallowed up by something wrapped in shiny drapings and presented with the right flair. Hell, Shinraâs success depended on people succumbing to a bit of dazzleâŚEnough so that theyâll look the other way from the atrocities committed by the company.Â
Now isnât the time to get moral.
He pushes those thoughts aside and shoves through the crowd. He finds himself stopped by a security guard. If the guy up front wearing a bowtie with no shirt and an antenna headband could be called that. Reno was pretty sure he could take him in a fight, but he had to remind himself to calm down.Â
âCome on, you wouldnât say no to Shinra,â he says to the guard with a sly grin as he flashes his badge. The guard's eyes go wide and he swallows hard before moving aside.Â
âRight this way sir,â the guard says and points him in the direction of the front desk. Reno is confident as he glides across the pristinely waxed floors to the desk. He leans on the desk and flashes a charming grin to the girl wearing a honeybee uniform.Â
âOne ticket to the show, please,â he says.Â
âIâm sorry sir, weâre all full for the evening andâŚâÂ
âUh, maybe we should talk to Andrea,â the guard butts in, and gives the girl a glance trying to indicate that Reno is someone who should get a ticket.Â
âAndrea is getting ready for the show,â the girl persists.Â
âIâm sure heâll want to know who is here.âÂ
Reno realizes they think heâs here on business. Itâs a little annoying that everyone assumes that just because heâs a Turk, but he also sees the benefit to it in this situation. The ticket girl nods slowly as the guard leans over to whisper something in her ear.Â
âIâll be right back, sir,â she says to Reno before going through a curtain.Â
Reno looks around the lobby a little bit and peaks through the doors leading into the main bar. He sees the stage, vacant right now except for a couple of Honeybees practicing their steps for the performance tonight. He sees one girl wiping off tables. Her smile is bright and infectious when one of the girls on stage asks her what she thinks of their moves. He doesnât have time to watch much longer before the ticket girl comes downstairs again.Â
âSir, follow me, please,â she says sweetly.Â
Reno follows her upstairs. There are a few rooms closed off with âDo Not Disturbâ signs on the door. He imagined the illicit activities going on inside but did his best to seem disinterested. Then, she leads him up another flight of stairs into an opulently decorated dressing room. Some of the girls are gathered around getting ready, adjusting their costumes and applying makeup. A few of them coo at him flirtatiously, but before he can really enjoy the attention the ticket girl is leading him into a room off to the side with the nameplate âAndreaâ on the door.Â
She opens the door and ushers him inside. A man sits at a vanity, applying eyeliner meticulously.Â
âHave a seat, Mr. Sinclair,â the man says. âIâll be with you after Iâve made myself beautifulâŚOr should I say, more beautiful?âÂ
âLookinâ pretty good to me,â Reno says with a cheeky grin before sitting down on the chaise lounge.Â
âAh, flattery. I didnât know Turks carried that in their arsenal,â the man chuckles, then turns around in his chair. âIâm Andrea Rhodea, but Iâm sure you knew that already.âÂ
âYeah, I had a hint or two,â Reno confirms. âIâm Reno Sinclair, but Iâm sure you knew that too.âÂ
âMhm,â Andrea stands up and pulls on his waistcoat. âSo, what does Turk want here?âÂ
âNothing crazy. Just enjoying my vacation,â Reno shrugs.Â
âI didnât know Turks got those.âÂ
âWell, we donât often. So you can see why Iâd want to make the best of it.âÂ
âAnd the Honeybee Inn certainly is making the best of it,â Andrea boasts as he walks over to Reno. âYou can sit in the VIP section. It has the best view, and is by invite only.âÂ
âAnd what do get from inviting me?âÂ
âMaybe a favor, if I ever need it,â Andrea smirks. Then, he snaps his fingers. A Honeybee runs in, the same one with the pretty smile he saw earlier.Â
You smile up at Reno, âIâll show you to your seat sir.âÂ
Renoâs smile widens, âPlease do.âÂ
As you grab his arm, he feels his cheeks heat up a bit and he follows you obediently as you lead him out of Andreaâs dressing room. He keeps looking down at you, trying to figure you out. You seem so sweet and innocent, yet you work in a place like this.Â
Thereâs no tragic backstory for how you ended up at the Honeybee Inn. However, sometimes you weave sad tales to interested customers to get better tips. You grew up in the Sector 5 slums, and had a relatively nice childhood despite living in poverty. The big dream was Loveless.Â
Oh, how you longed to take the stage in a role within that masterpiece.Â
But living costs gil, and one of the best ways to earn it in your opinion was at the Honeybee Inn. Andrea was a pretty kind boss compared to some other jobs youâd worked around the slums to save up for the move topside. If you fluttered your eyelashes and flirted just right, the people that came in here were willing to tip pretty nicely. Some of the girls were ambitious enough to offer further entertainment in one of the private rooms. While you respected their drive and ingenuity, you werenât brave enough to go that far.Â
As you guide Reno to the table at the very front, you put on your best carefree vibe. You have him sit down at the table and he leans back as you sit beside him. You caress his chest playfully.Â
âThe VIP section comes with your choice of a personal attendant for the evening, Mr. Sinclair,â you say sweetly.Â
âJust call me Reno,â he blushes and bites his lip. âAnd uhâŚAre you one of the options, pretty girl?âÂ
âAs it turns out I am!â you say cheerfully and lean closer. âWould you like for me to tend to you for the evening?âÂ
âYeah, I think Iâd like that a lot.âÂ
ââ
Despite his effort to play it cool, you can see a little nervousness in him. Heâs different from most guys youâve tended to in the VIP section. He likes the attention, but heâs not pushy about it. Heâs not being as much of a pervert as most guys, even though his eyes do stay pretty well focused on your fishnet-clad legs.Â
âThen, Iâm all yours for the evening, Reno!â you say sweetly and lean against him. âShould I get you a drink?âÂ
âYes please,â he purrs and watches as you stand up. His eyes are fixed on the graceful sway of your hips as you walk to the bar to get him a drink. He notices you donât ask what he wants, but he trusts you to order something good.Â
You talk to the bartender and one of the other girls comes up to you.Â
âGot a VIP tonight?â she asks as she orders herself a shot to unwind before the show begins. Already people are starting to file in, and Honeybees are buzzing around to keep them entertained.Â
âYeah, he seems nice actually. I think itâll be an easy night,â you smile.Â
âBe careful, I heard heâs a Turk,â she whispers.Â
âOh?â you raise your brow.Â
âYeah, but I mean it just means he can afford to tip well,â she says before downing her shot.Â
You watch her saunter away to deal with some of her tables. Before you have a chance to ruminate on what sheâs said, your drink is placed on the bar. You try to shift back into work mode as you grab the drink. Renoâs eyes meet yours as he watches you come back, trying to play off the fact that heâd been staring at your ass while you were bent over the bar. You flash him a flirty smile as you slide into the booth beside him and set the drink on the table. You know this costume does wonders for your curves. Itâs often been one of your greatest assets at this job, but has also been the cause of many issues too when creeps thought just because you were wearing the uniform that your body was for sale too.Â
âSo, how are you enjoying your visit?â you ask as you lean against his side.Â
âItâsâŚEnticing, I suppose,â he smirks at you.Â
Deep down, Reno finds the whole thing a little bit frivolous. Wall Market in general rubbed him the wrong way. This place was thriving with gil made off the backs of those in the surrounding sectors trying to escape the sadness and mundanity of their lives. Then, of course, he had to remind himself of his place in the world. Shinra was worse by far, and he was another cog in their machine.Â
âDonât worry, it gets better when the show starts,â you say and snuggle against his chest.Â
Deep down you both know youâre buttering him up for a good tip, but Reno canât help thinking how good it feels to have someoneâs warmth against him. He almost feels like a shy teen when he drapes his arm around your shoulder. You keep him busy with light conversation, teasing him a little for how important he looks in his suit.Â
Finally, the music starts playing. You sit up and clap your hands excitedly as you draw his attention to the stage. As the girlâs start dancing, preparing to introduce Andrea, he watches for just a bit before his eyes are back on you. The way your eyes light up and your body sways to the music he realizes how badly you want to be onstage. Your feet instinctively tap along with the steps of the dances being performed.Â
You really come alive when the cue comes for you to jump on the table. As you do, Renoâs eyes are glued to you. He watches your body move to the music, but more than anything he notices how your eyes are lit up with pure happiness. When this portion of the performance ends, you sit back down beside him. You lean against his side and hold his hand as Andrea make his entrance and steals the show. Reno isnât even intrested in whatâs going on. Heâs just completely enamored with you. For the first time in so long he wants to get to know someone, and maybe to be known in return.Â
The music slowly comes to an end as the dancers perform their final steps and then take a bow. The curtain comes down, then rises a few minutes later to the house band playing atmospheric music.Â
âWell, I suppose thatâs that,â you say softly and kiss his cheek.Â
âCan I walk you home?â he asks hopefully.Â
âIâve got to help clean up,â you explain as other honeybees start dutifully cleaning tables and sweeping the floors.Â
âI can wait,â he insists. âIâve got all the time in the world!âÂ
âOkay, Iâll be back in a jiff!â you smile before bouncing away from him. When you return, youâve changed into a pair of jeans and a sweatshirt. The difference to him is astounding. You look like one of those cute college girls he sees sometimes in the city. Innocent and sweet and eyes full of hope.Â
You help clean up the rest of the tables before going to the bar to collect your tips for the night. He fishes some gil out of his pocket and doesnât even bother to count it. He just hands it over to you as soon as youâre close to him.Â
âOh! Reno, this is way too much!âÂ
âNo it isnât,â he chuckles as he stands up. âItâs not enough.âÂ
He reaches down to take your hand as he leads you out of the inn. Youâre still arguing about the tip he gave you until you head out the door, and then you go quiet mostly out of the necessity of your surroundings.Â
âIâm this way,â you lead him toward the shabby apartment building you call home.Â
For a while, the two of you stand outside talking. Itâs just innocent conversation, trying to get to know one another better. He holds some back due to his job but tries to impress you with some hints that he sees a lot of adventure. Throughout the conversation, you feel him getting closer to you. His eyes dart to your lips, wondering if they taste as sweet and juicy as they look. He stops himself from kissing you because heâs unsure how youâd feel about him doing such a thing. He has a fear that maybe even now youâre just humoring him since heâd been so nice to you tonight.Â
âWell, I better get some sleep,â you say sadly. Reno nods weakly.Â
âYeah, I gotta head home too.âÂ
You both hesitate for a moment before you finally take the plunge. You stand up on your tiptoes and kiss him quickly. Itâs nothing more than a little peck on the lips, but itâs enough to make Reno feel tingly all over. His mind spins just enough for him to bravely lean back in for another, deeper kiss. Youâre both blushing when he pulls away again.Â
âDo you think maybe I could see you again?â he asks, rubbing the back of his neck to appear nonchalant.Â
âYou know where to find me,â you giggle before kissing his cheek. âGood night, Reno.âÂ
âGânight,â he says dreamily as he watches you unlock the door and slip into your apartment. He stares at the door for a moment before shaking off the sudden coldness of the night that didnât seem so present before.
ââ
âGo on a trip or something,â Rude says over the phone.Â
Reno is pacing his apartment, trying to work off his anxious energy. He can hear the humming of a helicopter on the other line, and he knows Rude is on his way somewhere exciting even as they speak. His body tingles with anticipation, but he knows thereâs not a target for it.Â
âGoinâ on a trip alone is boring,â Reno groans. âWhy canât I just come back to work?âÂ
âBecause Tseng says so,â Rude reminds him.Â
âMaybe I could talk to Rufus?âÂ
âAnd have Tseng set you on paperwork duty for a month as punishment?â
âFuck,â Reno growls. âYouâre right.âÂ
âWhy donât you head to Costa Del Sol? You love all the girls in bikinis!â
âHmph, thatâs trueâŚButâŚâÂ
He doesnât know how to express it to Rude. It sounds crazy even in his own mind. The longing that heâd locked away for so long suddenly came rushing back the second youâd pressed your glossy lips to his. He can still taste the cherry flavor of your lip gloss, and the smell tickles his nostrils. The next day heâd had to resist the urge to run right back to your apartment.Â
âBut?â Rude pulls him from his thoughts.Â
âI dunno, I guess I just donât want to be alone.âÂ
Rude is taken aback by Renoâs sudden vulnerablity. He knew it was there, but Reno hid it well. To hear him express the feelings was surprising even after all their time working together.Â
âListen, buddy, Iââ Rude breaks out. âOh shit, I gotta go.âÂ
Reno doesnât even get to say goodbye the call cuts out. He continues pacing long after heâs tossed his phone to the side, and then he gets an idea. He checks the time and realizes he can probably catch you before your shift starts. He throws his suit on even more sloppily than usual before running out of the apartment. On the way, he makes all of the arrangements over the phone to get the two of you to Costa Del Sol, including borrowing a helicopter so the two of you could avoid all the ferry travel.Â
ââ
Heâs running up the stairs to your apartment, taking two at a time, just as youâre coming out the door. Youâre still dressed casually, but your makeup and hair is all done up for work. He practically throws himself at you, grabbing your hands as he catches his breath.Â
âCome to Costa Del Sol with me!â he practically yells.Â
âUh, is that a question or a demand?â you chuckle softly.Â
âA request?â he tries, and seeing your frown he put on his puppy dog eyes. âA plea?âÂ
âReno, I canât just drift away to Costa Del Sol. I donât have any money, I have to workâŚI justââÂ
âIâll pay you!âÂ
âReno!â you gasp.Â
âNo, no! Not like that!â he waves his hands in front of his chest. âNo, I just meant likeâŚDonât worry about the money! Iâm paying for the trip, Iâll help pay your bills if you need me to because I know this is crazy.âÂ
âBut we just met. I donât understand.âÂ
Reno sighs and places his hands on your shoulders, âI know, I know. But I like you a lot, and itâs been so long since I met anyone like you.âÂ
âSo you just want to scoop me away on a vacation?â
âYes,â he sighs. âI just donât want to go alone, and I want to get to know you better. Iâm scared I wonât get the chance if I wait.âÂ
âOkay,â you concede. âBut I swear if this is some horrible trick!âÂ
âItâs not! I promise! Iâll even book separate rooms if you want!âÂ
ââ
Itâs a whirlwind, but you shouldnât be surprised considering how heâd arrived at your apartment. After packing a suitcase and calling a surprisingly understanding Andrea to tell him the news, youâre whisked away top side. You couldâve spent the whole day just staring at the immaculately designed city. You find yourself fascinated by seeing how the other half lives, but Reno doesnât give you much time to take it all in.Â
âThereâs better to come, I promise,â he tells you as he guides you to Shinra HQ.Â
Youâve never felt so out of place in your life as you did walking on those pristine waxed floors. Reno keeps his hand protectively on your lower back as you make your way up to the helipad. He wants to sign out one of the helicopters so he can fly you there, but the worker kindly informs him he canât do that since heâs off-duty. Instead, heâll have to let a pilot fly the two of you there. He considers making a fuss and calling Tseng or Rufus for clearance, but seeing you holding his hand excitedly he doesnât want to ruin the day.Â
âAlright, alright, weâll wait,â he concedes. He guides you to the nearby lounge to wait for a pilot to become available.Â
âSo, you work here?âÂ
âOh, yeah.âÂ
âYou must be pretty high up on the totem pole to be able to use a helicopter.âÂ
âI wouldnât put it that way, but I do have some perks.âÂ
The way youâre looking at him with such awe in your eyes makes him worried about what youâd think if he told you the truth. Almost everyone is scared at the mention of his job title because of all the secrets Turks know and their reputation for doing things a little more brutally than the average soldier is allowed. Instead, he distracts you with flirty comments and a kiss on your cheek. At one point President Shinra himself comes to the lounge for a drink, and youâre shaking from the nerves because he must know you donât belong here. Instead, the President nods curtly before leaving the lounge.
âWowâŚI thought heâd beâŚâÂ
âTaller?â Reno jokes.Â
âI mean I was going to say more handsome,â you giggle. âAll of the photos and TV appearancesâŚâÂ
âTheyâre doctored,â Reno shrugs. âDonât tell anyone though.âÂ
âMy lips are sealed,â you giggle.Â
Somehow it feels like it takes simultaneously forever and an instant before you arrive at Costa Del Sol. The sun is bright and youâve never seen such a blue sky before. The harsh metal of the plates was the only sky youâd ever seen before this day.Â
âWow! Itâs beautiful!â you gasp as you look around. Many people are hovering about, enjoying their vacations. The waves crash on the shore as the smell of sea salt fills the air.Â
âYeah, itâs pretty nice,â he smiles, enjoying your reaction more than the sight of Costa Del Sol itself.Â
âCome on, we can head to the hotel first and then check out whatever you want,â he promises before getting your suitcase from you. The two of you head towards the fanciest hotel.
Once inside, he approaches the desk and true to his earlier word he requests two rooms.Â
âOh, I apologize sir, but we only have one room available at this time,â the desk attendant says as he looks over his computer monitor. Reno looks at you shyly.Â
âWant to try somewhere else?â he asks. âOr I can sleep on the sofa?âÂ
âThere is a pull-out sofa bed available in the room, and itâs quite cozy!â
You consider your options for a moment, then you kiss Renoâs cheek softly.Â
âI think one room will do just fine.âÂ
Reno is surprised by your answer but feels a warm rush of excitement in the pit of his stomach. He confirms youâll take the room available. He tells you to go ahead and check things out while he signs the paperwork. Mostly just so you donât hear the price of the room. Someone comes to get your bags and begins leading you towards the room. You skip along happily, obviously having the time of your life.Â
âFirst couple vacation?â the desk attendant asks as he helps Reno through the paperwork.Â
âOhâŚUh, yeah.âÂ
âI hope you have a pleasant time. Payment will be due at check-out.âÂ
âThanks, man.âÂ
Reno takes the keys and trails along to where youâd disappeared to moments before. When he enters the room, he finds you scurrying about checking out every last detail of the room.Â
âThis is amazing,â you gasp as you skip over to the window and look outside at the ocean view.Â
âYeah, itâs pretty great,â he smiles as he sets his bag down on the floor. âSo, what should we do first?â

rafe x british!reader AGAIN!
drivinâ on the right-side road
âcan i please drive today, rafe!â you excitedly came downstairs wearing your shoes instead of your usual heels, which confused rafe.
âi donât feel like dying today, angel!â rafe said in the same excited voice, mocking you.
âoh come on! it will be fun, i promise.â you said now feeling him up in order to get your way.
âfine.â he let out in defeat, connecting your lips and handing you his keys.
â Ë・âŕ¨ŕ§Ë
âi thought you said this would be fun, y/n?!â rafe said holding onto the door and his seat belt.
âwhat do you mean? iâm always fu-â
âY/N YOUâRE ON THE WRONG FUCKING SIDEâ rafe screamed cutting you off as a car came, having to turn the wheel towards the correct lane.
âoops?â you let out a laugh at rafeâs terrified face.
âyou are never driving again.â
he says iâm pretty wearinâ his clothes
you were getting ready for a beach day with your friends, a weekly occurrence during the summer. you were applying your spf in rafeâs bathroom when he came in grumpily with his bed hair.
âyou better get ready before we are late, love.â you laughed at him as he wrapped his arms around your waist nearly falling asleep on your shoulder.
âhmmmm iâm so tired.â he kissed your neck before leaving to his closet.
he came back in 5 minutes later dressed into only swimming trunks and no shirt, but yet holding one.
âyou gonna wear this?â he said passing you his white button up shirt for you to wear as a bikini cover knowing thatâs what you usually do, still not use to the hot weather after moving.
you immediately put it on after he handed it to you, placing your sunglasses on your head before checking yourself in the mirror for the last time.
âyou look so pretty, especially in my clothes. youâre so beautiful angel.â rafe said spinning you around, placing a kiss on your lips.
and heâs got hands that make hell seem cold
watching the sunset on the beach and then spending the rest of your night driving around with your perfect boyfriend in the front seat of his car, listening to the music you wanted, thereâs nothing that can make it unenjoyable.
except for when you regret wearing shorts.
rafe noticed the goose bumps on your thighs immediately.
he reached over the middle console and placed his hand on your thigh in an attempt to warm your legs up as well as turning the warm air on.
âhow the fuck are your hands so warm?â
feet on the dashboard, heâs like a poem i wish i wrote, i wish i wrote
when he laughs at all my jokes
you, rafe, sarah, topper, kelce, jj and pope were sat at dinner at the country club finishing up on your meal.
âso i got card for the meal and cash for the tip.â you said to the server.
well rafeâs card. he refused to let you use your own.
while the server processed the card, you handed them two twenty dollar bills.
âthatâs fake by the wayâ you laughed while the table including the server just started at you.
well except rafe who was giggling.
and he (she) says iâm so american
âi donât understand rafe. itâs our language, we are correct, itâs a fucking CRISP.â you and rafe were sat on your bed after just coming home from the store with your snacks.
âangel, itâs a chip.â he said laughing, kissing your templeâ
âgod rafe, why are you so american.â
oh god, itâs just not fair of him to make me feel this much
you, sarah and kie were in sarahâs living room gossiping about everyone and everything.
âhe just makes me so happy, this is seriously the happiest iâve ever been in my life. baldie really makes me smileâ you said laughing and also smiling at the thought of your boyfriend.
rafe stood in the door way of his living room listening to you speak about him with an uncontrollable smile, while also rubbing his head to the use of âbaldieâ.
iâll go anywhere he goes
âare we going to the party?â you asked rafe needing an answer soon to know if you should start getting ready or not.
âup to you.â he said unbothered, despite it being his best friends party. âiâll go anywhere you go.â he added.
and he says iâm so american
oh god iâm gonna marry him if he keeps this shit up
you were laying in bed from your uncontrollable period pain, nothing was working!
when you had to cancel plans on rafe, he was so worried.
he ran to the store immediately, texting sarah and asking her for help.
he chose chocolate, tampons, ice cream, crisps!!!! (chips) and also got you takeout.
when he came into your room holding the goods with a huge smile on his face, you took one look at him before crying.
he placed the things on the floor and immediately rushed over to you.
âwhatâs wrong baby, is it me?â
hearing him say that made you cry even more.
âiâm gonna fuckinâ marry you, if you keep this up.â
i might just be in lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-love
you were sat at the beach having a picnic that rafe so kindly set up after you mentioned it one time weeks ago.
you watched him stare out at the sea infront of you, looking so peaceful.
âi think im in love with you.â you said out of no where, even shocking yourself.
âwhat?â
âwhat?â
god iâm so boring and iâm so rude
ârafe why donât you come to a party get high, get bitc-â
âdonât finish that sentence, you know iâm with y/n.â rafe said cutting topper off angrily.
âbut sheâs so boring!â topped exclaimed.
âand sheâs rude, all she ever does is swear.â
âi donât give a fuck. stop speaking about her, the both of you. donât even look at her again.â rafe said before storming off.
canât have a conversation if itâs not all about you
âand so like the other day rafe and i, we we-â
ây/n. we have been at this table for two hours, youâve ate nothing and just talked about rafe.â your mother cut you off leaving you with a frown on your face.
the way you dress and the books you read
you walked into rafeâs backyard to see him laying on a sun lounger, book in hand as he focuses on the words.
heâs wearing a blue and white stripped button up shirt and navy shorts. he smiles as he looks up and stares at you, as you make your way over.
you gave him a big smile and straddled his lap, putting his book mark into his page dropping his book onto the floor.
âmy god you look so good.â you said kissing him hard.
i really love my bed, but, man, itâs hard to sleep when heâs with me
after spending what felt like a month in rafeâs house, you both decided to go to your house, and you couldnât lie, you were excited to get to your own bed.
that night rafe had took all the blanket from you causing you to freeze and unable to sleep.
ârafe i am gonna kill you, please give me blanket.â you said to basically yourself as he spread out, snoring annoyingly and taking even more of the blanket.

a/n : first jj fic! this is mostly unedited, so sorry in advance. this fic was totally not inspired by a nostalgic bridget mendler song hope you enjoy <3 requests are open
notes/summary : youâre grounded and stuck reading romeo and julliet when a certain visitor tries to get your attention from your window. | jj x f!reader, fluff, no spoilers for obx3
word count : 833
masterlist
being grounded was not supposed to be a part of your weekend plans.
well, to be fair, it wasnât the most prudent decision-making on your part either; sneaking in late from a party at the beach, drunk. especially on a school night too.
not your proudest moment, being caught red-handed by your parents as you tried and miserably failed to sneak into your bedroom window.
which is why you are here now- confined to the comfort of your home for the next two weeks. oh, and no electronics either.
phone? gone. laptop? also gone. hell, they even found your spare ipod from middle school in one of your drawers, so even your last resort is poof-gone.
so instead of being out with the rest of the pogues on another great adventure, youâre stuck, sitting at your bed catching up on reading romeo and juliet of all books for your english project due on monday.
you have to admit, itâs not the worst play your english teacher couldâve assigned. even with all the odd old-timey lingo, youâre still somewhat interested; likely because of the fact you hardly have anything else to entertain you, but still.
halfway through romeoâs sappy romantic monologue, you hear a loud clunk against your window. your gaze shoots up from the book up to the glass, contemplating whether to let it slide or get up to investigate.
you choose the former, too comfortable on top of your freshly made bed to set the book down and drag yourself over just to find nothing.
with a sigh, you restart the sentence you left on just to be interrupted once again by another thump coming from your window.
probably the gutter you think, until you see a pebble make contact with the aperture.
you push yourself up and trudge across the room.
your forehead presses against the cool glass whilst you try to find the source of the stones before you recognize the vague outline of someone standing in your front yard.
sliding the latch open, you lean against the ledge and stick your head out.
âhey! what do you think youâre-â
your sentence fades as your eyes meet jjâs, a big grin spread across his face.
another pebble lands on top of your roof and ricochets back onto your driveway.
âyou werenât answering our texts!â he shrugs, âsomeone had to make sure you didnât die.â
you roll your eyes, combing your fingers through your hair. âjeezus j! wait there.â
you quickly paddle down the stairs, simultaneously thanking all the gods that your parents were fast asleep at this time of night. you open the back door and gesture for jj to come in, bringing a finger up to your lips.
âyou couldâve woken my parents up,â you chastize while half whispering-half yelling at him as he strides in, chuckling.
âyou had me worried, sweetheart.â
the use of your pet name makes your frustration dim slightly. you let out a small sigh-and even though you find it impulsive of him to be throwing literal rocks at your window in the middle of the night- you canât help but be relieved to see him here.
you shut and lock the door to your bedroom  as jj collapses onto your mattress, landing right on top of your open copy of the play.
âow fuck,â he exclaims, jumping into a sitting position. he rubs at his hip where there's surely to be a bruise tomorrow from the point of the book. âwhat was that?â
you roll your eyes again, relaxing back onto your bed  beside him with your cheek resting on your hand.
âshakespeare.â
jj snorts, picking up the book and placing it on your side table, âsince when do you read shakespeare of all things.â
âsince i got grounded and i have nothing else to do.â
âyou could do-âÂ
your palm shoves into his chest before he can finish his sentence. ânu, uh. what were you doing out there at two in the morning?â you question.
âiâm sorry, my lady.â he over-exaggerates an apology, grasping your hands in his. â will thou ever forgive thee?â he enunciates with the emulation of a shitty british accent.Â
you arch your brow, âfor tossing rocks at my window or for that horrible accent?â
âboth?â
âhmmâŚâ
âplease?â jj juts his bottom lip out, feigning a pout, looking at you with his beautiful blue orbs.
you let out a giggle, scooting towards him until your front is pressed up by his. you throw your leg over his torso- straddling him- and place your hands on the back of his neck, playing with some stray strands of his blonde locks.
âhmmâŚwell considering itâs what romeo did to get julliets attention, i guess I canât blame you for trying to be a romantic,â you respond, lips meeting the skin underneath his jawline.
jjâs hands run over your back, sliding up your flimsy pajama top suggestively.
âi thought that was just a thing gnomeo did in gnomeo and julliet, if iâm being honest.âÂ
you chuckle against his neck, pulling back slightly to lock your eyes with his, âyouâre fucking insufferable, jj.â
he tilts his chin up, bringing his lips to brush under yours, âlove you too, babe.â
-----
pls tell me you guys have watched gnomeo and juliet. hc- jj was obsessed both gnomeo and juliet and sherlock gnomes.Â

Nick & June's Mix tape Vol. 3
With volume 3 comes the battle for Holly, separation and the unveiling of painful secrets. Season 3 was notoriously poor to our 2 lovers with June becoming seriously twitchy without Nick, Hannah or Holly. Gilead is Hell.
What Are You Good For?
Love in Gilead is less than ideal. One day youâre dreaming about a beautiful beach with your beloved and the next heâs been promoted to Top Boy at the local horror show. Granted he looks great in the suit but Nick doesnât seem to like the new tie, grabbing at it like the tightening noose that it actually is. Fred was obviously pissed about the baby snatching and his ârewardâ for Nick was to arrange a promotion complete with a quick trip to the front, undoubtedly to die.
Iâve often said that Nick sometimes DOES listen to his better angels and sometimes he takes the easy way out. Granted itâs difficult heâs stuck between a rock and a hard place, but when June asks him to take the high road, hightailing it with her and Hannah for the border, and he doesnât, it earns him a brutal verbal slap.
âWhat are you good for?â she demands and I was instantly reminded of S1 when June confronted him with his lowly aspirations: âIs this it? Youâre just gonna polish his car and once in a while get a Handmaid pregnant?â In both of these moments Blaine looks deeply shamed, June has shown him that while she loves him sheâs also acutely aware of his shortcomings.
Itâs a justified blow to his ego, particularly given his newly acquired power and his reluctance to use it for good. As she demonstrates her willingness to risk so much more for freedom, heâs left feeling like a small and suitably chided man, instead of the patriarchal Gileadâs new Big Commander. âYouâll get killedâ June says with a cold finality as he tells her that heâs been sent to the front, confronting him with the reality that his unquestioning loyalty to Gilead will now surely cost him his life. Itâs madness.
This is one of the only scenes where Nick and June are not depicted in a glowing light, itâs difficult to ignore that Nick is now almost swallowed by the shadows. Over the last 2 seasons, theyâve become one anotherâs beacon of joy and hope and thereâs a palpable air of desolation and sorrow here, as these two bid each other goodbye, possibly forever. The camera reveals Nick and June divided by a wall, Nick unwilling to leave her, his back literally pinned to the wall by the heavy weight of Gilead.
June opens the door, gently reaches around, sensing him waiting, somehow their hands finding one another and she leads him out of the dark hallway and back into her room. Doors often represent entrances to other worlds and here we see June reach across the divide to return him to her side, once again. The lock snaps shut signalling an almost unheard of privacy. Thereâs a sense of finality in it too, as though it may be the last time these two see sanctuary for a long time, if ever again. Itâs no more than 10 seconds of screen time and yet it encapsulates their relationship so perfectly. Nick constantly waiting in the shadows, bound by duty, and June always reaching across the divide to bring him in from the cold.
Nice Girl Like You in A Place Like This
The DC episode ranks right up there with the Boston Globe episode as one of the most important and insightful for this entire series. In Ep 6 June witnesses for the first time the absolute devastation this dictatorship has unleashed on her countries seat of power. Fittingly Fred has selected new wave DC as the location to construct his own personal piece of propaganda in an attempt to force the Canadians to hand Nicole back. Juneâs depicted glowering with vast angel wings, a monolith of power and holy vengeance. In the middle of Fredâs little directorial debut, Nick strolls in and June does the trademark jaw drop. Fred wants to know what heâs doing there, after all he had arranged for him to be shipped off to the front after the whole holding him at gun point / baby napping thing. Despite Fredâs best efforts though, it seems that not only does Blaine continue to breath, but heâs also shown up to visit his girlfriend.
Now if you thought Blaine looked good in a suit, wait till you see him draped in long, dark, tailor made, hotness. Itâs obvious thereâs a new kind of swagger to him and as he steps up next to June he brushes her hand and drops the line âNice girl like you doing in a place like this?â Itâs a line lifted from a Scorsese film of the same name and Blaineâs used it to flirtatiously lighten the intensely grim mood. He knows DC is Hell but he also knows June is anything but a âNice Girlâ, she blushes barely containing a smile and he smirks.
Fred and Serena canât help but notice it and Fredâs seething with jealousy. Thereâs a close shot of Serenaâs false finger clenching, a sign of the love lost between her and Fred, that contrasts directly against Nick and Juneâs hand brushing. Exchanges between Fred and Nick reek of power and control. Fred directs Nick to do his bidding, maneuvering him across the stage and verbally leashing him by calling him son, once again reducing him to a subordinate. Fred makes June kneel down for the camera, and Blaine looks away unable to watch. Unbeknownst to Fred, this will be the last time he ever exercises this type of control over Blaine.
This is Your One Chance
Here we got our epic movie moment for the series, It was like Gone with the Wind and Dr Zhivago all rolled up into one big romantic snow globe. June runs out to meet Nick her hair and cape fluttering behind her freely, a stark contrast to the DC handmaids brutally silenced. It demonstrates the freedom she feels he brings her. Nick, however seems to want nothing to do with Juneâs gamble on the Swiss that involves him laying his neck on the line and entwining himself in yet another Governments manoeuvrings for power. I, for one could hardly blame him; the last time he got involved with politics he ended up in the bottomless pit that is Gilead and heâs been unsuccessfully digging his way out ever since.
Add to this the fact that the last time he tried to help June, a multitude of people risked their lives and most certainly died, and you have one understandably reluctant Commander. But heâs helpless, she forces him to look in her eyes, tears streaming down her face and tells him that itâll be his one opportunity to truly show his love and fealty for his daughter.
Now while some may doubt that Blaine ever showed up to speak with the Swiss, I can guarantee that this little exchange ensured that he did. The fact is, Blaine is a sucker for the loyalty card and once June played it, it was a done deal. Scenes are cut and included for a reason and as we know, in The Handmaidâs Tale, even the smallest scene is there for a reason. Show runners went to the effort of showing Blaine at the embassy being called to give information; he showed up, albeit reluctantly, and despite the fact that it all went sideways, writers still wanted you to know that. Unfortunately the reality is, he just couldnât face her after it did all go to shit, and as a result he beat a hasty and somewhat cowardly exit to the front.
He knew the Swiss would soon tell her heâd been part of the Sons of Jacob whoâd been integral to the inception of Gilead, something heâd kept hidden from her for some time now, and sheâd be suitably mortified. June IS devastated, she looks out on the glowing playroom once filled with happy children that lies noticeably empty and silent. It reflects her isolation and sense of abandonment; perhaps the family she envisioned with Blaine was just a fantasy.
DC was an episode designed to illustrate the total destruction of all of our personal and societal freedoms under Gilead. To properly demonstrate this writers pulled the rip cord on any emotional support June may have previously had, this included breaking her and Serena up and having Nick leave her somewhat high and dry. It was essential to illustrate Nick was manipulated and part of the Gilead machine from the beginning. It was difficult to watch, given his devotion, but from the moment I saw him cloaked from head to foot in black, practically swallowed by his uniform, I knew it was inevitable that at least for now, Gilead pulled the strings.
In our next 2 Nick and June Mix tapes Iâll be covering Season 4, which was somewhat kinder to the Osblaine fans. Back soon.

Want to Go Home With You (Bring Me a Home)
Rating: Teen and Up (May Change With Future Chapters) CW: None, at least for now Tags: Alternate Universe - Mermaids, Hurt/Comfort, Dialogue Heavy, Took Canon Out Back And Pulled an Old Yeller, Mer!Steve Harrington, Fisherman!Eddie Munson, Soft Steve Harrington, Confused Steve Harrington, Steve Harrington is a Sweetheart, Eddie Munson is a Sweetheart, Steve Harrington Wants to be Loved, Mermaids with Animal Like Instincts, Future Propositioning, Lowkey Might Involve Some Omegaverse Aspects in the Future (Not Sorry)
This is chapter one of ????. Also this takes place in Oregon because that's what I know and the idea of a merman living in an Indiana lake-beach is odd to me. So...bear with me. This is my first like actual alternate universe, completely separate from Stranger Things, so be nice.
Also, I've written Steve here as a merman who's had no contacts with humansâhis English is choppy and his understanding of basic human communication is weird. If that's a turn-off for you, turn back now.

đ§ââď¸âââââđ§ââď¸ Fishing wasnât the ideal career to be going into after high school, but Eddie had to do something while he waited for his dreams to kickstart. Granted, going into this business was easy because his uncle owned the local bait shack. But it didnât make the job any more appealing in the end. Not even the many beaches he had the chance to truck out to. There was Cannon Beach and Seasideâs, but he stayed close to home in Newportâs.
The beach wasnât anything super spectacular. Sure, there were parts of it inhabited by the native seal population, some of the areas overloaded with crab shells. And it was damn near majestic during the summertime. Eddie, however, didnât see the gist of spending time there, though. Maybe it had to do with how every single one of his work days would go, the hours spent sitting in the serene stretches of water. But nothing was intriguing or worthwhile about spending his time there.
That is, until one particular early summer day.
June isnât a busy summer month for Eddie and his uncle. It was the right temperature, but there was still the risk of storms. Heavy duty kind of storms. Business didnât stop, though. He woke up at 5:30am, when the sun was still acclimating to the baby blue sky, and readied himself in coveralls, thick and tall rubber boots, and a bucket hat that protected his lopsided mop of curls. His hair remained back in a bun and his skin was doused with paste-like sunscreen. In one hand he carried a red fishing rod and in the other, an old black lunchbox transformed for tackle.
He went out to the docks. To the few run down boats. And climbed aboard his uncleâs tried and true, S.S. Lenoreâa tiny thing, made for up to four people, overrun with nets and crusted muddy footprints, and equipped with a singular cooler. The engine always took a few pulls to start up, jostling and crunching like food run through a garbage disposal, but it did the trick. And then he was off.
Eddie always took the chance to float out for a handful of minutes. Sometimes fifteen. Sometimes ten. Set himself up stagnant in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by nobody, with no chance in hell heâll be interrupted. Today he just needed to get a cooler full of trout. Rainbow trout, to be more exact. Theyâre easy fish to gut and debone, good for baking in the oven, and stuffing full of herbs for marinated fish stew. Heâd gone out previously to hoist in mackerels and herrings. This was the last trip heâd need to take for a good two weeks, but he was going to do a damn great amount of work for it.
âThis should be good,â he mumbles to himself, just barely breeching the edge of his boat. The ocean underneath him moves in subtle pushes, rocking him lightly against itself. Its color is bright and shiningâbluer, somehow, than the last time he visited just a few days ago. He can see schools of trout idling underneath the sheen of the water. And so he rigs one of his nets, tosses it over the side of his boat, and slowly sinks it into the water.
And he waits.
It isnât until half past when he came out that the net begins to rustle. Tugging and splashing, but it doesnât settle the way it does when itâs some regular trout. No, this threatens to topple Eddie straight into the cold depths of the water below. To sink his boat and turn it over of all its resources.
He grips to the ropes holding the damned thing up. Pulling at it hard enough to give him the starts of burns on his soft palms. And he heaves. Groaning with it. Panting unrelenting in the face of this thing trapped inside his net. Whatever he caught is surely not some common fish for his soup, this is something moreâmaybe even more dangerous. And he hadnât thought to bring anything with him to ward off danger.
There had been one time where a shark got caught. Eddie happened to have a knife on him that time. He gave in, cut the ropes on the net, and let it freeâwhich cost him the equipment, but luckily saved his life.
This is a time where having that knife would be spectacular. But as he hefts the net, he realizes that this creature caught is no ordinary thing. Itâs not a shark. Not a seal. Not a school of fish. However, through the floundering waves around him, he catches on a fish-esque glimmer. Scales of some sort shifting with the catch of light breaking through.
He wrestles with the net for a few minutes more before eventually getting a good enough grasp to tie it down. Pulling up the rest with his hands, heâs met face toâŚtail with this creature. It has scalesâpearl white and baby pink and pastel yellowsâthey shine iridescent in the high rise of sunlight. The end of the tail sports two fins, both of them crescent shaped, thicker towards the base of the tail, and spindly where it faces Eddie. Before he can stop himself, heâs poking at the scales, where they taper into absence at the creatureâs fins. Itâs then that the creature really notices him.
In one fell motion, grand and heaving, the boat rocks. Teetering into flipping. The creature turns its head to him andâŚhisses. Like the guttural bubbling hiss of a harbor seal. It rocks in the net again, as it lunges towards Eddie.
Immediately, Eddie pulls his hands away and steps as far back as the boat will allow him. Granted, itâs only four feet in width, but that puts space between him and this thing. The thing that he calculates slowly with his eyes. Tailâyeah, he already knew about that. But then he rakes up to the torso of the fish like creature, where his tail is ombre with the glistening, golden skin of a nude torso.
âThatâThat isnât right,â Eddie finds himself stuttering, surveying the torso once again. Sure enough, thereâs skin. Dotted with moles and freckles. Dark brunette chest hair that could almost be mistaken as black. Toned arms and big, veiny hands. At the ends of this creatureâs fingertips are short, curved towards the palms, white claws. Gills where its ribs are. And then Eddie goes to its head. Square-ish jaw, more freckles and moles, smile lines and baby crows feet. Thick eyebrows, triangular nose with a bridge that angles slightly to the left. Ears that threaten to point at the tops. Brunette hair that swoops to the right, falls to its collarbones, wavy and stringy with saltwater.
And its eyes.
Human eyes. Hazel, glowing honey in the sun. Long eyelashes. Drooping eyelids. Pupils that are pinpoint small, dilating with every hiss that leaves the creatureâs throat.
A mermaid.
Eddie Munson is looking at a fucking mermaid.
OrâŚmerman? It doesnât have the seashell bra like all the mermaids heâs heard tales about, but maybe thatâs just fable. Heâs played all kinds of fantasy games, but he never thought what he described would be looking at him. Wild eyes and baby shark-like teeth, though without the second row. Hissing.
It struggles in the net again, lunging. Wrapping its hands on the edge of Eddieâs boat, squeezing at the metal material. The force of this mermanâs grip enough to cause the edge to creak. Eddieâs stomach drops.
âWoah! Alright, okay!â He exclaims, hands up and placating. Briefly, he wonders if it has a good sense of smell and hearing. Like it can scent the excretion of his sweat even in the cold air. Or how his heart beats like the galloping of a race horse. âEasy! I ainâtâIâve got no reason to hurt you!â
It seems to know what heâs saying, as it relaxes in the net for the first time. But it shoots him a pitiful, pleading look. Petulantly whining at him, though the sound is gargled.
Eddie wipes his sweating palms on his coveralls and takes a tentative step forward. âEasy,â he murmurs, âIâll free you, but you have to stay calm.â
But the merman shakes its head. âNo,â it croaks, âNo free.â
Okay, so the guy speaks. It knows English. Even as choppy and awkward as it sounds.
âNo free?â Eddie questions, âYou donât want me to free you?â
It shakes its head again. Whines, gargling again in the back of its throat. Its hands grip to the boat again, this time lugging some of its weight. As if itâs trying toâŚclimb in.
Eddie startles back once more. âHey, no,â he barks, âno climbing in. You canât come onto my boat.â Though he wants to take it all back the moment he locks eyes again. If it didnât have scales and gills, Eddie would almost think it was a sad puppy hybrid. He can almost imagine the droopy tail paired with the glistening, fearful, and pleading eyes. âWhy shouldnât I free you? My boat isnât your home and I canât take you back with me. You belong in the water.â
âHome,â the merman echoes, croaking. âYour homeâŚwarm?â
âUhââ What the fuck, he canât help but think, exasperated. ââuh, sure. Home is warm. My, uh, home is warm. I live by the sand with my uncle, selling worms and cooking fish. The sun hits my skin every morning.â He doesnât know why heâs answering the guy, but something in its stare, the broken wordsâEddieâs allured. âCan you please answer my question? Iâd like to go home. So, why shouldnât I free you?â
The merman points a clawed finger at itself. âMy home not warm. Cold.â Eddie nods along becauseâof course, duh, the ocean is cold. But it murmurs, âLove.â And now Eddieâs confused all over again.
âLove?â
Its voice is soft and sweet, curious. âYou have love?â
Eddie shouldnât be indulging this. He shouldnât. But maybe the merman is a siren with how heâs drawn to answer. âI donât have a partner, if thatâs what youâre asking. But my uncle loves me. And I love him. ThatâsâI have love like that.â
It nods like it understands. Looks away over its shoulder, to the cold, salty water. And visibly shudders before facing Eddie again. âNo love,â it says, pointing at itself again. âI no have love. No warm.â It tries to climb in again, even as Eddieâs moving to pry its hands away, but it holds tight and hisses again. âWant warm. Go with. Want to go. Go now,â it demands in a low timber.
And even as pretty as this merman is, Eddie has to refuse. He shakes his head softly. Gently, he says, âYou canât. IâI donât know you. AndâŚI donât have an ocean in my house. Youâll die if you come with me.â
âSteven,â it mutters.
What? âWhat.â
âKnow meâSteven,â it says. âKnow you? Name?â
Tentatively, Eddie relaxes again. Realizes that this wonât be an end all conversation. âMy name is Eddie. Itâs short for Edward,â he answers, âbut I like Eddie more.â
It hums, observing. âEh-die,â it sounds out. âEddie,â it whispers. Without warning, it trills at him. High pitched, chirping and bubbling from the back of its throat. Smiling with the sound, squinting its pretty honey eyes. Something in Eddie stirs. âLike that,â it chirps. âShort and easy. I want.â
âYou want a short and easy name, too?â Eddie clarifies. It nods at him, squeaking an affirmative thing. âHow aboutâŚHm, whatâs a good name for Steven?â He ponders as the merman continues to look on at him, eyes bright and curious. âHow about Steve? Is that good enough for you?â
âSteve!â It crows. Trilling again, higher pitched than the last, squirming again in the net, closer and closer to heaving itself into the boat. âEasy, easy, easy,â it says at him.
Eddie canât help but chuckle. âSoâŚSteve, am I able to call you a he? LikeâŚHis name is Steve?â
He nods at Eddie. Wriggling again as if he canât contain his excitement.
âWell, now I know you, huh? Itâs a shame I still canât take you to my home.â
And now Steve frowns, eyes saddening again. âButâŚMy home is cold. You have warm,â he says solemnly.
âI know,â Eddie murmurs, âbut I donât have space for you, Steve. Your home is in the water. If I take you out of the water for too long, youâll die. You need the water.â
âI will see you again?â
Eddie shrugs. âIf you see my boat again, you can visit me. How about that? AndâŚwhatâs special about that, is that I can bring you things that arenât in the ocean.â
âManâs stuff?â
Befuddled, Eddie asks, âWhat are manâs stuff?â
âStuff I see from up here. From Eddieâs home,â Steve answers. âI find and I keep and I hide. Nobody knows. Just Eddie. Eddie is nice, though. You make me happy.â
Humming, Eddie assesses Steve again. Smiles softly. âYouâre nice, too, Steve. Even though you scared me earlier. But you were scared, too, huh? Caught in my stupid net.â He takes a careful step closer, standing over where Steve rests in the net still. He places a hand on one of Steveâs, tentatively, but purposefully. âBut if you see my boat again, you can come visit. Maybe next time Iâll bring some fish soup? Do you eat fish?â
âFish are tasty,â Steve says as a response.
Eddie chuckles again. âOkay, Steve. Iâll bring you fish soup. Tomorrow, though. I have to free you and go home, okay?â He reaches down for the ropes that he tied down earlier. Tugs on one of the knots and frees one side. Steve yelps.
âPromise you come back?â Steve meekly asks.
âPromise,â Eddie murmurs intensely, unraveling the last of the rope. âLook for Lenore. Sheâll bring you back to me.â

x
Okay, Deanâs single. Heâs single which means you have free reign to date him if you want to. What are you talking about? âIf you want toâ? You want to. Yes, you do want to. Youâve wanted to since the moment you set eyes on him. How the hell are you going to bring this up to him? What if he doesnât want you? Itâs been a week since youâve talked to Clarissa but Dean hasnât said anything to you. Maybe he wonât and if he wonât, youâre sure as hell not going to.
Itâs harder to confront your feelings because youâve quit your nursing job as much as it pained you to do it. Youâre a hunter full time now which is something youâve wanted since Disneyland, but youâre not going to stop being a nurse. If a hunter needs your help, youâre going to do whatever you can to heal them.
Over the past week, you and Dean have been practicing your fighting skills which has given him plenty of opportunities to say something to you. Maybe you two arenât meant to be. Maybe you should man up and ask him about it. You have to focus on the hunt before you can even think about your potential relationship with Dean.
There is a pack of werewolves attacking campers that need your attention so youâre going to do your job and help those people first. While Sam and Dean get ready, youâre standing on the small porch of the motel and stare at the beach right next to it. This place is the closest thing to the hunting grounds which is good for you because you love the ocean. Too bad none are in Kansas.
âY/N?â You turn to Dean. âWeâre ready to go.â
âComing.â
You head to the car but Dean stops you before you can get inside.
âAre you okay?â
âYeah, just thinking.â
âOh, okay.â
He grabs the handle of the car door but you stop him this time.
âDean?â
âYeah?â
You open your mouth to say something but nothing comes out. No, you canât do this now.
âNever mind.â
You get into the back seat of the car while Dean slides in behind the wheel. Itâs a short drive to the trail where youâll have to walk the rest of the way. You three trek through the woods until you come to the campsite you know the werewolves favor since itâs in the middle of their hunting grounds. You three look like hikers instead of hunters which you hope wonât tip off the werewolves.
âThank God,â you laugh when you see them. âPeople. Weâre lucky we found you. Weâre as lost as someone can get. Do you know where the nearest hiking trail is?â
âWhatâs the rush? Weâre about to cook something to eat. Want to join?â
âWhy not?â Sam chuckles.
You join their group and sit down at the fire next to a man who hasnât stopped looking at you. You smile politely at him and set your bag down on the ground. You look at Sam and Dean who give you a single nod. Thatâs your cue. You act like youâre taking off your jacket when really, youâre taking out the silver knife from your inner pocket. Without blinking, you stab the werewolf in the chest with the knife.
All hell breaks loose. Someone grabs you from behind and tosses you into the tree behind you, and you gasp in pain. Itâs not the worst kind of pain so you immediately get up and face the female werewolf in front of you. She bares her fangs at you but you swipe the knife at her. She dodges all of your attempts until one of your swipes gets her arm. She cries out in pain as her skin sizzles from the burn.
Her claws come out and she uses them as her weapons. You donât see them until too late and youâre thrown back into a tree. Pain erupts on your side and you look to see she slashes your skin with three nails. Dean looks at you when he hears your scream and shoves the silver knife into his werewolfâs chest. He runs at the woman who advances to you but he tackles her to the ground. She tries to bite him but he takes his knife and slices her throat vertically.
âShit,â you gasp and press your hand to your side. Blood pours out between your fingers but youâre not going to let something like this kill you. âAt least itâs not a bite mark.â
âYouâre going to be okay.â
Sam kills the last werewolf in the pack so Dean picks you up bridal style. He doesnât care if youâre getting blood in the car. He can always clean it later. He sits with you in the back so Sam drives back to the motel room. He lays down a towel on the bed but you know the blood will soak through onto the mattress.
âWhere is your medical kit?â
âIn my bag,â you groan.
Dean removes your jacket and uses scissors to cut your shirt open so you donât have to move as much. Youâre not worried about him seeing you in your bra since you have a more threatening matter to deal with. Sam grabs the kit and looks through it but there isnât much that will help.
âThereâs not enough to help you. Iâll run to the store. This will help until I get back.â
Sam hands the bag to Dean and doesnât waste time. Itâs you and Dean alone before you know it. Dean grabs a towel from the bathroom, wets it so itâs damp, and returns back to you. He cleans the blood as best as he can without hurting you further but every touch no matter how gentle hurts like a bitch.
âIâm so sorry,â Dean sighs.
âFor what?â
âFor you getting hurt.â
âDean, come on, we both know that wasnât your fault,â you scoff.
âStill. I should have protected you.â
âDonât give me that sappy bullshit. This wasnât your fault. Weâre fighting monsters. Getting hurt is kind of in the job description.â
Dean lays down gauze over your wounds to help soak up some of the blood.
âYeah, thatâs the problem, Y/N. You shouldnât have to do this. You should have stayed at your hospital and continued to be a nurse.â
You catch his eye and understand the meaning behind his words. If youâre going to confront your feelings, may as well do it now.
âYou mean I should have stayed away from you?â
âIt seems easier that way, no?â
You continue to stare at him as your mind races a million miles a second. He touches your side with an alcohol pad and you hiss in pain, causing you to break eye contact. Just then, Sam comes back with better medical supplies than the one in your kit. Youâll have to upgrade yours and add a bunch of shit you thought you weren't going to need. Dean easily fixes you up but the moment is over now.
Youâll head back home tomorrow after a long nightâs rest. The sun is going down which means itâs your bedtime according to Sam and Dean. They let you have your own room but youâre not tired. Sure, youâre exhausted from the pain but you donât want to sleep yet. When you know Sam and Dean are retired to their room, you sneak out of your own carefully to not break open your stitches. You slowly walk down to the beach near the motel and the water shimmers with the different colors of the sky.
You canât keep doing this back and forth with Dean. Either he fesses up or youâre gone. You love hunting because the Winchesters make it fun but hurting every time you look at him is too damn difficult. Maybe theyâll let you back in your old hospital. Maybe you should go to a new one. Dean looks out the window and sees you standing on the small pier overlooking the ocean. Sam is already reading in bed so he leaves to give him some space. He looks both ways before crossing the street and joining you on the pier.
âY/N?â
âI canât keep doing this, Dean.â You whip around to face him. âI canât live and hunt with you knowing you and Clarissa broke up. I thought you wanted space so I gave you space. I thought you needed to sort out your feelings so I didnât say anything to you. Itâs been two weeks and youâre giving me nothing. Radio silence. Itâs killing me. I gotta know⌠Do you love me or not?â Dean stares at you with parted lips, his expression unreadable. âIf you donât, you gotta let me go because I love you so much and it hurts knowing youâre right there and I canât touch you.â
âFuck,â Dean whispers to himself. âEver since we first kissed, you havenât left my head. Iâve wanted to kiss you and hold you every night since then. Hell, I even thought about you when I was with her. I could have left Clarissa for you but people die around me, Y/N. You almost did at Disneyland and now here. Call me selfish but Iâd rather lose Clarissa than you. I know youâll be pissed at me for saying that but itâs the truth. At least if I was with her, I still got to see you.â
âI make my own decisions, Dean. You donât get people killed. Shitty things happen to you. That doesnât make you the cause of it. This is the life we live. Monsters will do what monsters do, so we try like hell to make sure they donât get us before we get them. Iâm not gonna let that fear control me. Iâm also just a girl, standing in front of a boy, asking him to love her. If I want to be with you, Iâm going to be with you. Do you want to be with me?â
âOf course, I do--â
âThen do something about it.â
Dean makes up his mind right there and then. He stalks over to you and gently grabs the side of your face. He leans down and kisses you like how heâs wanted to for months. Itâs cliche but itâs instant fireworks between you two. Everything wrong in your life finally falls into place to complete the puzzle.
âFrom now on, youâre mine,â you say against his lips. âIâm not letting you go.â
âIâm not going anywhere, sweetheart.â
He kisses you again but is careful not to open your stitches. Guess you two were right after all.

The three of you were walking back to your house. You guys were going to play video games and they were going to sleep over. Your parents were fine with this since they trusted them with you. While they were playing Mario Kart, you were making snacks. As you were walking back you noticed Muichiro was beating Sanemi, and Sanemi was getting mad. âOh what the hell?! How are you so good at this?!!â He was practically screaming at Muichiro while you and him were laughing. âGuys I have the snacks.â You set them on the table and sat down and started eating. They decided to finish the round and come join you on the couch, one on each side.
The boys were both very protective over you and you knew that. You decided to put on a movie, they were happy with this idea as it was getting late and everyone was becoming tired, especially you.
In the middle of the movie, you felt your sleep overwhelm you. You had scooted closer to Muichiro, this pissed Sanemi off but he wasnât going to show that, but it made Muichiro happy. That was until you laid down on Sanemiâs lap. Muichiro got jealous and Sanemi gave him a smirk, until you put your legs onto Muichiroâs lap. His smirk quickly faded.
Sanemi was running his fingers through your hair as Muichiro was running his hand up and down your legs. You were fast asleep as the two continued the movie. At the end, they decided to go lay you down in your bed, Sanemi carried you as he was the biggest out of you guys. Muichiro was fine with this, he just followed behind you guys. As Sanemi laid you down in your bed, you had turned to the side Muichiro was on. As they walked away, you sat up and grabbed Muichiro. âPlease stay.â He gave you a shocked look that quickly softened.
He crawled into bed with you and you instantly cuddled up to him. Sanemi was fuming. Muichiro was stroking your hair was smirking at him. âSanemi, you too. Please.â You glanced over at him. He also crawled into bed with you and cuddled you from behind. The three of you fell asleep pretty quickly.
Once you woke up, you were in the same position as you were before. You tried to get up to go make breakfast, but you couldnât get up. You had to push their hands off.
As you were in the kitchen, you heard footsteps. You turned around to see Muichiro standing there rubbing his eyes. âGood morning Mui!â You smiled at him. âGood morning.â He gave you a soft smile back. As he sat at the table you put some pancakes and bacon on the table. Not too long after, Sanemi came down for breakfast. You both told him good morning.
As you guys were eating, you came up with the idea to go to the beach. They both agreed and after breakfast you guys got ready. You put on your favorite bikini, a black one, and you walked out. The boys were already ready so they were in the living room talking. Thatâs when Muichiro saw you. He kept his gaze on you for what felt like forever, then Sanemi laid his eyes on you. âY/n you look great.â Sanemi said looking you up and down. âYeah you do.â Muichiro smiled at you. ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
At the beach, you were laying out trying to tan, Muichiro had went to get you guys some drinks. Sanemi took this as his chance. âHey y/n, I have to tell you something.â You looked at him, âyeah?â He took a deep breath. âWell y/n, I like you. A lot. Your face went red. âI-I donât know what to said Sanemi.â He told you that it was fine and went out to the water. Muichiro came back with the drinks and sat with you. You guys talked, and when Sanemi came back he could feel the tension between you guys. ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
At home, Muichiro came up to you to ask what was going on between you and Sanemi. You told him what happened and his eyes went wide. âWell um y/n. Itâs a bad time to mention I also like you.â Your jaw dropped, you couldnât believe they both liked you. You had to talk to them. ââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You had waited till dinner to talk to them about it. âSo, you both like me?â They both nodded their head. You felt your heart flutter. âY/n, weâre not saying you have to pick one of us.â Sanemi said glancing at you then Muichiro. âWell, I like both of you guys. I canât choose.â Their eyes went wide. âWell..â Muichiro started, âwhy donât we all just date?â He was serious. âAre you joking right now?!â Sanemi yelled. âWell, that doesnât seem like a horrible idea.â You said looking down. âI mean I like both of you and you guys like me so, itâs not a bad idea.â Sanemi took a deep breath, âI suppose it isnât.â You smiled. You ran up and hugged them both and kissed them on the cheek. The three of you have been dating for around 2 months, you guys decided to keep it a secret for a while. You guys were still the bestest of friends and nothing was different other than the occasional fighting over you. But, you were all happy, and thatâs all that matters.
