Just deleted the ask I was trying to respond to, but re: "skeptics always die in horror movies" - I have mixed feelings on that trope!

On the one hand I think it sets the tone and helps the audience suspend their disbelief - people are always complaining about horror movie characters being idiots, so this can be a way to be like "see? We DID consider rational explanations, and then someone immediately got murdered very supernaturally, so stop asking questions and accept the premise."

On the other hand, I think it definitely contributes to the idea that skeptics are close-minded killjoys who are too stubborn to accept reality, which is a very common and incredibly annoying mindset. Shane Madej did not spend the last eight years marching into haunted houses and loudly demanding that the demons inside kill him for me to still be hearing shit about how "if you don't take the supernatural seriously you will Attract Evil Energies And Die".

Luffy 100% stole a bunch of the transponder snails from a marine ship, not knowing what they're even used for. He just thought they were cute. The rest of the straw hats are iffy about the snails until Luffy makes little outfits for them, so they all look like his crew. And yes. The Luffy one has his own mini strawhat.

Inspired both by the recent solar eclipse and this post by @otiksimr, an art piece I’ve never been prouder of, my WoF oc Sunkiller!

Born under a total solar eclipse (ask me about my temperature-based nightwing hatching headcanons. and also my headcanons about how sunlight affects nightwings.) and blessed with the ability of perfect knowledge of the past, or at least the past where dragons exist. This of course makes her an invaluable resource to historians everywhere, which she is absolutely sick of, and so has gotten very adept at the hermit lifestyle. For pity’s sake, you solve ONE cold case murder as a hatchling, and suddenly EVERYBODY wants your attention…

(if tui has declared anything canon about nightwings and solar eclipses, like she has for blood moons, which are lunar eclipses, i haven’t seen it)

The cave of a thousand gods reveal in TGCF is honestly so terrifying and it’s written in a way that’s supposed to make you fear HC in the same way that MQ and FX is so terrified of HC being XL’s longest standing stalker. But then you reel TGCF all the way back to the start, from XL saving HC from falling from that bridge, but also him giving HC the will to live when he wanted to die, then yk maybe it’s kinda a no brainer that when HC is at his worst (mentally and physically) at Tonglu mountains, that he would find refuge in 1) art, and 2) the person whom he admires most and swears to return to. The entire narrative of TGCF is so dramatically determined by the narrator that sometimes it’s hard to even realise how harrowing and difficult it was for HC to survive mount Tonglu the first time, and that the those statues and paintings were also probably a coping mechanism for a soul desperately hanging on to what good is left in their world, rather than simply pure obsession.
