Seven Evil Exes and Their Relationship with Ramona

continuation of this: scott pilgrim swap au but i can't draw

considering the fact Ramona made a comment that Matthew only became evil when he got into high school, meaning that Ramona still kept in touch with Matthew or Matthew was there in the same School with Lucas and Todd. So in this AU, Matthew and Ramona are still friends and basically are supposed to be Kim and Scott roles. Matthew becomes depressed but hides it well by making it seem like he's just being emo and overdramatic, cause you know, theatre kid

Lucas like I said before, was probably just going on with the other exes' evil plan thing and without the revenge thing, he basically got better for himself, making a name as an actor and getting strong. so in this AU, Lucas is basically Ramona's Wallace, kinda, he gives genuine advice coming from someone who worked to improve and get better for himself, But the moment he meets Scott, he vents and talks about how heartbroken and how hard it was when Ramona cheated on him

Envy had enough of Todd being a like a man-child and also being a douchebag, so She kicked him out. Todd in this AU is kinda like stephen but without the anxiety, he works to improve and explore himself, but that only starts to happen after Ramona remeets Gideon, because Todd really gets a reality check and also breaks down when Gideon belittles him

Since the Twins don't have much character, I'm just going to use @ken-katayanagi Headcanons, thank you for feeding the Katayanagi Twins fans for so long. Ken and Kyle have an estranged relationship because everyone assumes that since they're twins they basically are the same person, so they try to be as individual as possible but in doing so cause their relationship to be strained, it was only after Ramona dated both of them since in her mind it was just a fuck buddy situation but to the twins, they thought it was more

They reconcile and realise that they never truly knew eachother, so they swear to always have time for one another. They get over Ramone pretty quickly and after Ramona breaks up with Gideon, She calls them to get a drink but it's so she forgets about Gideon. In this AU, they're kind of like Julie, Stacey, and Wallace in two, they're aware of Ramona's flaws and call them out, they're not subtle or kind with it either, they bluntly say it. When they first meet Scott, Ken basically whispers for Scott to run, also have the best relationship with Scott, they provide alot about Ramona's past whenever Ramona tries to hide it and they genuinely care for Scott's wellbeing, while Scott was temporarily out of Sex Bob-Omb, he also temporarily joined the twins music career things

Gideon was already over Ramona when she left him, he isn't going to get her back for his harem, instead he just plays around, he only cryogenically freezes people he considers as partner material and people that genuinely interest him plus can deal with him, Ramona isn't suitable for his standards of a perfect girlfriend, so he didn't truly care when he saw ramona again

but he does insult and mock Ramona when he finds out that she's dating Scott, aka his lead bassist of the band he recently is working with (but also/probably plot twist scideon, cause i find that to be hilarious and fun to explore)

sometimes i think about the cast and general production team of st constantly saying “mikes just trying to be normal” cus like…….hes reallly not? and hes never really tried?? like this fits lucas or el more cus both of them try to live a normal life but when lucas brought up to idea of being popular and normal mike was just like “uhhhhhhh no thanks ew” in s4 so like??

season 1-2 his whole gimmick is that him and the party are nerdy and geeky and thats what makes them so cool. hes obviously bothered by the bullying, but he just doesnt make any effort to be normal

in season 3 is probably where this applies the most, because of him wanting to act more mature and do grown up things because he had spent the last 1/2 years fighting upside down monsters and would just like to experience having a normal teenage-hood… but even then HES not trying to be normal if you know what i mean? he still loves nerdy things and the only thing thats really changed is his constant revolvement around his girlfriend???

but even then his obession is kind of justfied because:

after they got will back from dissapearing, mike revolved around him for ages too. going to his appointments, waiting for hours next to him/with the party in the hostipal.

and then eleven “disappears” for like a year, and he does the same exact thing so in my head he’s not trying to be “normal” hes just relieved to have her back yknow? just like he did with will when he came back.

in s4 interviews specifically this narrative of mike trying to be normal is mentioned and im so confused cus like thats the season when hes literally trying NOT to be normal. its literally made a point by eddie that he was embarrassing when he was basic, and that hes cooler now (when he was talking about how first day of freshman year they were wearing clothes their mums picked out). they custom made clothes for him to be edgy and made him grow out his hair.

the best explanation ive seen is that they are hinting to his internalised homophobia. the reason the only thing that hes tried being “normal” at is having a girlfriend. trying to hide suppressed queer feelings by trying to do the most textbook straigh thing, make out with your girlfriend constantly. but even then i dont 100% believe that this is the reason?? because thats the same season dustin was obessed with his girlfriend and he was still one of the not normal ones… (also bc of the point i made in the s3 paragraph)

mike has never really tried to be normal. he literally becomes emo in season 4, the season where they stress this narrative SPECIFICALLY. just rlly confused me

I think I touched a bit on this in her background, but Sunny definitely has had her fair share of failed friendships.

She has a lot of insecurities surrounding the success of her brothers, and a lot of people in her life have only stuck around for the sole purpose of being introduced to her older brothers.

I feel like going to Umich was really good for her, she lived in dorms and became a bit of a social butterfly. Joining a new dance company with new girls who she quite enjoyed, not to mention her sweetheart of a roommate. Sunny and her roommate grew really close in her first year and ended up being lifelong friends.

She struggled more in her classes, a little later into her first semester when people start realizing that she is the sister to hockey royalty (that’s a stretch). Girls would partner up with her in classes, invite her out, and then try to figure out ways to get invited to parties thrown by the hockey team. And it’s all just so frustrating cause she really wants these girls to like her.

Approval means a lot to Sunny, it stems from that competitive narrative that she shared with her brothers, and it just feels like everything she is doing and is trying to accomplish will always end up intertwined with her brother's fame.

Adam gets it, kinda, like he’s supportive of her and is always there for her in her times of need. But he also is a rising hockey superstar who has no trouble navigating life, and is reaching unimaginable goals, so he doesn't quite get it.

I think Luca is really the one there for Sunny in these moments, he knows exactly what it’s like to live in the shadow of your sibling (I'm being dramatic, it's for the angst!!). He knows what it’s like to feel guilty about being jealous or having resentment for your sibling's success. Cause at the end of the day they are both so unbelievably proud of their siblings and so proud of the people they have become. But it would be so much nicer if their accomplishments weren’t turned into a game of compare and contrast.

Anyways Sunny loves her brothers, don't get her wrong, loves them so dearly they are her best friends and they are the greatest things in life, but sometimes she struggles with finding a place in life amongst the greatness around her.

Realising Sigurd and Desmond lethal company are brothers (Mentioned in the first log) Made me so emo…. Not to mention Sigurd reads to me as being the younger one so it made me think about the whole thing from Desmond’s pov.

You think you’re going on an easy but cool job where you go to other moons and pick up random garbage with your brother. You tell him to write down his thoughts to keep him grounded and tell him how cool it would be to have your notes stay on the terminal for years to come. Then you quickly discover the horrible things that could kill you in an instant, it even took one of your co-workers. Your little brother even tried to go after it to find the body— Now he’s getting all sorts of nightmares, he’s getting ideas about some thing shady behind the company you work for. You think he’s onto some thing so you investigate— You realise he’s right.

Idk some thing about the horror of being the older sibling and not being able to protect your younger sibling from horrible beasts you can barely defend yourself against and a company who really doesn’t care for the lives of it’s employees. Also it does make me laugh to think about Desmond telling Sigurd to stay behind at the terminal then Sig goes, “WHAT!!!! I’m not scared you’re scared!!!! lucas is the one whos going to piss himself out there!!! Whatever. I like being computer guy anyways.” (he writes “desmond stinks” in his notes)

Do you respond to comments?

I try to! But I get very anxious about it and tend to work myself into a tizzy, so I often put it off for later and then forget, haha. Then I'll go and respond to all my comments from the last few months and feel even weirder about it... T_T

What's the fic with the angstiest ending you've ever written?

Oof. That's... a hard one, haha. I've written a couple of fics without happy endings, though I typically don't. At least three fics which end on a canonical character death, for instance. But I'd say the ending which made me the most emo writing was Butter, a Mother 3 fic. It ends with Lucas, who's like 9, recently lost his mother, then lost his twin brother (and thinks it's his fault), and is now being neglected by his father, crawling into bed and crying. So yeah, pretty bleak, lmao... but at least he doesn't die I guess?

Do you write crossovers?

I do, but I haven't posted many yet. I'm not always huge on writing them, but I do think about them a lot. I was working on this one Persona 3 x Fire Emblem Awakening crossover but I lost steam on it, and now there's a really lovely crossover on AO3 with a similar premise that I was SO delighted to come across!!! Hope y'all don't mind me taking a break from linking my own work to shill for this one, hehe

Have you ever gotten hate on a fic?

Unfortunately, yes, about six times, I'd say. Even more unfortunately, most of those times happened earlier on in my fanfic writing career, and I was pretty sensitive to hate back then, so I deleted many of the relevant fics, and some of them I don't even have access to myself anymore.

Not gonna talk about the ones that are still upsetting, but I will talk about the funny examples: on a (since deleted) RWBY fic, I said in the author's note that I "wrote them as platonic, but the fic can be read as WhiteRose", and then I got a glowing comment gushing about how good the story was which ended with "but then you had to ruin it by shitting all over WhiteRose, how about you [long suicide bait]". Third most baffling comment I've ever received.

The two most baffling were on different fics, but both were making the same weird accusation??? One was on a ZeLink fic (actually, on Comfort, my fifth most kudos'ed fic of all time now), and y'know I think I'm just gonna show you the comment in question:

The other one was on a long-since deleted fic which focused on both a romantic ship, as well as a fatherly relationship between one member of the ship and the other member's father. I guess having a fatherly relationship with your father-in-law makes your boyfriend actually your brother (and therefore you can't date him anymore). IDK man people are crazy. (tbf the commenter in question thought I was setting it up so that he'd get adopted by his boyfriend's parents, which would give them more of a case, but like... that didn't happen in the fic and wasn't going to. they just guessed at a future plot development and got angry about their guess)

Do you write smut?

I do, but I've never posted any. I've posted one fic that was very suggestive, I'd even call it "NSFW" in a sense, but never anything explicit. Maybe I will in the future? We'll see if I can ever finish anything smutty, lmao.

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yep, I had Ultimatum, my longest chapter-fic (and by far my most popular fic in the ff.n days) stolen and posted on another site by somebody. I reported it but never checked back up to see if it got taken down.

I also feel that I've had my work plagiarized pretty damn blatantly in another fandom (I was browsing a certain AU tag and read one which contained all the exact events and sometimes word-for-word dialogue from a fic of mine, just very very slightly rewritten) but the poster had no other works and their writing was definitely extremely juvenile, so... I figured they were a dumb kid and just decided not to raise a fuss. Checked back later and they deleted it, hopefully because they realized they shouldn't do that, so I figure there's no need to start shit over it. Honestly, if that person used that experience as a jumping-off point to write their own fics, then I'm glad it happened, imitation being the highest form of flattery and all.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

No, though I had someone reach out to me on fanfiction dot net a long time ago and ask permission to translate An Unheard Goodbye, which was super exciting! I agreed, but I don't believe they ever got around to it, or if they did, they never posted it. Still very flattering, and I think about that a lot, hehe.

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

I'm.... gonna say Zelda/Link? I haven't written it in FOREVER but it was such a huge part of me coming into my own as a fanfic author, so I have to give it credit for that.

What’s a WIP that you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

.......all of them 😭 god I have so many of these damn things. But for the prime example, I'd point to Ultimatum, an old Pokemon fic that I started in middle school. I got all the way to the climax and I feel bad leaving my readers hanging, but... at this point, if I did continue it, I would honestly have to rewrite the whole fic first just to be in line with my current understanding of the characters.

What are your writing strengths?

Y'know, I think I get character voices down extremely well in a way which elevates my dialogue and narration. That's probably the thing I'm most proud of in my own writing, at least.

What are your writing weaknesses?

BREVITY. Or the utter, glaring lack of it. I have also been known to muddy up my writing with an overabundance of A) adverbs, B) unneeded clauses tacked onto perfectly good sentences, and C) em-dashes 😭

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fics?

I think it's dope as fuck, but I currently can't really accomplish it because I'm monolingual (NOT FOR LONG IF I HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY ABOUT IT, I'M COMING FOR YOU, JAPANESE FLUENCY!!!!). I will also say that I don't like when authors will write characters having a story-important conversation in another language, then put the translations in the end notes or something, requiring you to either read the chapter confused or else keep scrolling back down and back up.... I think even that's totally fine to do if what's being said isn't plot-relevant, though.

What was the first fandom you ever wrote for?

Naruto. I hadn't read or watched Naruto btw, I had only read other Naruto fanfics. I have spoken on this topic many times, but it remains hilarious to me. Also, so many of my old Naruto fics are lost to the Wattpad times, but I will take this opportunity to once again share a quote which I recently managed to unearth from my long-lost unsung magnum opus:

Never ever will I intentionally attain the level of comedy gold that I managed while writing completely dead serious Naruto fanfiction on Wattpad in 2012.

I personally prefer to ship Ray with someone who isn’t from Grace Field, for Isabella reasons 

and Violet is unlike anyone he’s ever met, in both looks and personality

but let’s be so serious: she looks like a slightly less feminine Norman, has Emma’s courage. the twist is her attitude. I think Ray would be drawn to her.

they both try to pretend they’re cool and chill, when the opposite is true they care so so so much and have a natural inclination to protect 

they look like punk ass mallrat MySpace emo kids like that’s all i can really say on that aspect. but bro trust me on this just trust me

Ray guided her and the rest of the Goldy Pond kids back to the bunker, and it took two weeks, and they had a lot of time to get to know each other. Violet was relativity uninjured compared to the other GP main players, so she’s probably the one who Ray spoke to most often (aside from Lucas ofc) and they definitely worked together while getting such a huge group across that vast distance.  

And they had even more time to get close during the search for Cuvitadala. further reading. I think, if we’d gotten more fleshed out chapters from that part of the story, we’d see them interacting a lot more.

it’s not a jump to say they became friends pretty quickly, even less of a jump to suggest they have a solid dynamic. we saw them gang up on Emma for being reckless (really, they’re both worried about her), demonstrating that they’re on the same page, and they already move as a unit. 

(we’re entering headcanon territory so just close your eyes and open your mind to my vision) While I assume Emma and Ray paired off most often during the search for Cuvitadala — they are the besties of all time after all — as well as Ray and Don, I see Violet and Ray being a surprisingly frequent pair. Gilda and Emma definitely take notice of this development.

now walk with me here, because in my expert opinion, this ship is a slowwwww burn. like it takes them almost a decade to actually get together. But they just vibe with each other. they hang out more and more after coming to the human world, growing steadily closer. 

Ray probably understands what’s happening and comes to terms with it first, deciding to simply Ignore these feelings until they go away. He thinks there’s just no way she’d ever like him like that. And seeing as he places such high value in friendship, he might even think it unfair to put those feelings on her. 

Violet is more hesitant, always cautious when it comes to investing emotionally. However, she knew early on this nerd was going to be a problem for her. She also elected to ignore these feelings, and it works for a decent amount of time. 

Time goes on, and they start to grow up. The dynamic changes a little, and their sarcastic banter has become more like play flirting, then more like actual flirting. They both think the other is 100% joking.

But Violet gets annoyed with the will-they-won’t-they a few years after they find Emma, and just decides to say Fuck It and kisses him to get it out of her system. this plan backfires, spectacularly. 

Ray is like Woah ?!?!!! 

They kinda just don’t talk about it and carry on like before, for a few weeks. Until she’s like “oh hey btw what the fuck is your problem” and he’s like “what’s UR problem” and then. bam. Rayvio. Vioray. You agree. 🙏

They say, canonically, that the color doesn't matter. Unless it's Red.

This is because the magic crystals can "bleed". Why is this? I don't know honestly; the techno-magic in [Star Wars] has always been confused as to whether it's force magic, or techno-babble. Thanks George Lucas.

A first time viewer of [star war] would assume that a light saber only works because of the force magic we've heard so much about. Until we learn that it's not much different than the blasters in the series.

The only reason Jedi's use it and other people don't is because of their [force magic]. See, because of their attunement with the force; they're less likely to injure themselves with a violently spinning laser beam.

Which is why Jedi use the weapon to begin with. Because it's extremely dangerous and normies can't use it effectively without cutting their fingies.

What this potentially means is that a lightsaber crystal can potentially be used in a standard blaster and vice versa. But there's no canonical description of the blaster disassembly like there is for the lightsaber.

But here's the thing. The color *is* affected by the force. Like it's a force-sensitive-mood-ring.

So when we see Red hues; and I'm including Magenta, Purple, and Orange, (and maybe even yellow cuz R+G)--Its because the crystal is "Bleeding" from the negative force energy.

The most famous purple lightsaber wielded by Mace Windu is the primary example of this. The Council itself was promoting a war. It was; by definition--corrupt. They had all lost their way.

While preaching peace and unity, they lead armies to commit unspeakable crimes.

Another example of this, that *might* be a bug in the graphics, and it might be real is Darth Vader's lightsaber at the end of [Return of the Jedi]. As he attacks the Sidius; his lightsaber is less red and more pinkish.

As if being reunited with his son began healing the hole left by Padmè, and thus healing the bleeding crystal.

While it is also Canon that different "Classes" of Jedi get different crystals; Councelors (diplomats) get green, Defenders (Guardians) get Blue, and Sentinels(Offensive) get yellow; this is usually because of some other flaw in the crystal itself.

With white being a pure color, and every color that isn't red being some sort of mineral deposit that shifts the color.

Like how Quartz gets its rainbow of colors.

Now, obviously it was originally just a silly indicator of Good vs Bad, Blue is Good, Red is evil. But the additional colors, indicating the character's alignment whenever they wield the lightsaber changed all that.

And so we get this weird interpretation and understanding of this "Mystical" weapon. That is mostly technology, but it's also magic, but *more* affected by dark magic.

Which is silly...

For audience reasons; if it's magic, then make it magic. If it's technology, then make it technology. But this weird in-between ? It's just silly.
