Thinking about my desire for a mistaken identity time travel fic where Obito and Sasuke get tossed into the warring states, but bc Sasuke looks like an Izuna clone and Obito for some reason gets the wild hair look back, they keep being mistaken for Madara and Izuna.

Notably, they keep being mistaken for Madara and Izuna as they are in the middle of attempting to beat the ever-loving shit out of eachother.

And because Obito likes causing problems for Madara and Sasuke shrimply does not give a fuck and might even appreciate the fake identity alibi, they do nothing to actually deny the mistaken identity. Obito actually encourages it, usually by loudly agreeing with whoever shouts "omg its Uchiha Madara" as he lights shit on fire.

Anything to cause the real Madara more problem, right? Karma, bitch aa

He actually wants to cut his hair short again but the temptation of getting to continue to ruin Madara's reputation is too good, so he doesnt

ANYWAYS. Thinking about all of the above again w the context of my "Kakashi is related to and bears a resemblance to Tobirama" agenda thats been steadily growing in like. Actually, I think almost every Kakashi fic Ive written so far (oops)

Maybe I want Kakashi in this now. Maybe I'm also thinking about Tenzo, who got the same "oh for some strange reason my hair is longer now" treatment as Obito and with the Mokuton, can now be mistake as Hashirama by those who have never seen him. Or even people who have seen him but logically assume he's wearing a henge.

There's only one known man with the power of Mokuton-- why would the ever believe it wasn't Hashirama (unless they were close enough to the man to truly doubt it on a personal level)

I have no real ideas for an overarching plot, but like. Obito, Sasuke, Kakashi and Tenzo mistaken identity time travel my beloved,,

Kakashi and Tenzo traveled + landed together and Obito and Sasuke did the same so neither group is aware of the other

(Kakashi and Obito eventually figure it out bc of the shared eye connection I think)

But in the mean time they actually keep managing to avoid each other bc they'll hear rumors ab "Uchiha Madara" being spotted in the town over (Obito continues to be very loud about it very on purpose) and then avoid going there, while Sasuke hears the same, figures its Obito, and sprints over to try and bash his face in

Obito finally eventually gets cornered by Kakashi, Tenzo, and Sasuke and gets his shit rocked fr fr send tweet

Sasuke and Kakashi bonding moment(s) where we tackle the uhh. Everything. Of canon. And Sasuke gives Kakashi a crumb of respect back or smthn

Idk but I just want to see Sasuke call him sensei, don't ask me how we'd get there

Meanwhile when they're finally like, exposed or whatever there's just SUCH a mess there to be had

I'm choosing Uchiha Hikaku as my first contact bc I love him dearly and think he serves as good middleground between ranks of importance and relevance

So like. Picture this.

You are Hikaku. You're sent out to investigate some rumors about Madara and Izuna fucking shit up and causing a general mess some ways away. A henge, a slander campaign, the real Madara-sama is sure.

You get there and find 3 people fighting.

(Obito, Kakashi and Tenzo's first interaction. It's tense. They may all come from the final battle, after Obito changed his mind, but there were a lot of things left unsaid and also they all probably just wanna beat the shit out of eachother anyways. Things happen, things are said, a fight is had)

Two of them bear a passing resemblance to Madara and Tobirama respectively, and the 3rd has the look of a Senju to him.

Ok. So, Senju slander campaign? Gone... wrong, he'd assume by the fact that they were all fighting.

You then recognize that the fake Madara has mismatched eyes (!!!! What the fuck !!! Culturally significant thing there !! Was he born like that? Was it a transplant?)

And the fake Tobirama(?) has a whole stolen sharingan he seems to be ACTIVLEY using (WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!! SOUND THE ALARMS!!!!! BLOODLINE THIEF ALERT !!!!!!!!)

You debate between just watching or entering the fight, but then the fake Tobirama makes some sort of reference to his sharingan eye belonging to the fake Madara's.

All thoughts come to a screeching halt.

Ok. So. Gonna get involved now.

There's a clear side here (Uchiha vs potential Senju) Hikaku can not leave his clanmate to die, and he doesn't yet know how he might have been involved in the slander campaign so it's honestly best to put this guy in his pocket and bring him back to Madara anyways

So Hikaku enters the battle, everyone makes appropriate shocked pikachu faces bc no one noticed him and aw shit it's gonna get more complicated, cool, awesome, great

(Also note; Hikaku became the eventual Uchiha head after Madara's defection so there's also a "oh shit no way" reaction from Obito specifically who knows this information. And also maybe Kakashi who I imagine knows a lot of Konoha's history and politics)

Battle continues, Tenzo uses Mokuton, Hikaku gets appropriately freaked the FUCK out at the idea of another mokuton user

Then Sasuke comes crashing out of nowhere , yay !!!

(Kakashi and Tenzo, who did not know Sasuke was here yet and are only seeing him for the first time, make more surprised pikachu faces)

Sasuke, who... possibly knew Kakashi and Tenzo were around and may have been avoiding them, wanting to signal that for now at least they were all on the same side (against Obito) nods to Kakashi specifically and gives a tense and sort of stilted, "sensei."

SO. HIKAKU IS KIND OF GOING THROUGH IT OVER HERE NOW.

Sasuke is a dead fucking wringer for Izuna in the way that only a direct relation can be. I'm talking they could absoloutley pass for twins kind of relation. Worst of all, they look around the same age (Sasuke is only a few years younger)

Hikaku is no longer fighting with a strange Uchiha against Senju agents he's now fighting with an Uchiha against another Uchiha (who's a dead wringer for his clan heir !!!!) He does not know who to believe or what side to exist on.

(Had this false Izuna called the fake Tobirama sensei? Oh god—)

Things happen, whether they lose or escape I don't know but it ends with an incredibly confused and concerned Hikaku returning to the Uchiha clan compound with tales of bloodline theft, another mokuton user, and horrifically— A possible sibling, lost and raised by the senju in secret.

Yeah. So. Madara won't react well to that. Madara won't react well to that at all.

(Izuna won't either, in the slightest. Does... does he have a twin...? Did he have a twin once, lost too early for their parents to bear to tell them...?)

It's incredibly hard for the Senju to deny any involvement when Hikaku has sharingan perfect memories to share of the fake-Izuna (Sasuke, they had called him Sasuke) standing side by side with a man who resembles Tobirama and another who is very fucking clearly using Mokuton. And that's "very fucking clearly using mokuton" seen by someone who has SEEN mokuton used in battle. Multiple times. He will not mistake it for anything else.

Anyways oops sorry for creating a horrible political scandal and also probably making the Uchiha/Senju wore like 10 times more charged teehee </3

Madara

He has heard the nickname "Red Oni" from his soldiers for a long time, which made his curiosity grow. He wanted to meet that man and have a fight with him. After all nothing excites him more than a good fight.

His surprise was immense when he found out that Red Oni was not a man...but a woman instead. And a very pretty one to add. Her long red hair symbolized her nickname perfectly. Madara did not like Uzumakis, but this time he eager to learn more about her.

He could tell she was a wise and powerful woman, her speech carried drops of wisdom and class, something that Madara loves in woman.

"How about we have a friendly fight?" his suggestion was thrilling for both of them and of course they both agreed. Both shinobis loved a good fight and no way would they skip such an opportunity which comes maybe once in a lifetime.

Their fight was long and tiring, with neither of them wanting to give up. Madara could not help but notice how agile her movements were and how many strong techniques she had. For him it was a relatively new thing to see woman being able to fight with him so long.

In the end, Hashirama and Mito were the ones who seperated them because both did not want to give up. Talk about being hard headed.

The more they talked, the more Madara fell in love with her, without even realising. He knew that he wanted his wife to be strong and able to protect herself, and his Uzumaki friend was a perfect candidate for his wife. Of course he took his time and invited her to many dates before asking her hand in marriage.

Izuna

Izuna, being the cinnamon roll he is, was actually very surprised when he met the Uzumaki woman. He would not admit it loud, but he loved how her hair was red and long, and it corresponded to her nickname perfectly. He found it too cute even.

In the battlefield, he would always catch himself get mesmerised by her and her moves, how fast and strong she was. Women usually were not allowed to participate in wars, but she was strong and Izuna felt sort of proud. She was breaking the traditions after all and setting an example for other strong women.

When they were able to sign a peace treaty with the Uzumakis and Senjus, Izuna was roaming around, trying to find a way to talk with her. She was looking more beautiful than ever and he was eager to strike some conversation with her.

Luckily for him, she also wanted to talk with. Not noticing Izuna in the battlefield is impossible due to his swift attacks and handsome features. They both were able to share some things between them, not noticing how time flew by.

Izuna would later on make unannounced visits to her new house in the village. The Uzumaki beauty didn't mind because deep in her heart she wanted to see him as often as possible. Villagers, seeing them together could not help but ship them, saying how adorable and matching they are. Both are like oceans, calm but dangerous when needed.

Their dates were mostly planned by Izuna. He loved making her feel special and would gift her various gifts to bring a smile to her face. A handmade thing to an expensive jewellry: Izuna was doing it all to show her his feelings.

Their interactions went on for a year, with now even their families asking what the future steps are for them. Izuna knew he made all the right choices that would secure a yes from her. The ring he also ordered was ready and there was nothing holding him back.

His proposal, which he planned very long for, was a success as he was now officially engaged to her and few months later would be their wedding. A wedding that maybe the whole village was waiting for.

Shisui

Now for this guy, the first thing that caught his eye as the red hair. Shisui is the type of person who loves seeing rare features and the red hair is definitely something new for him.

He later on learns about her clan, and their special abilities. Shisui is the type of man who is intrigued by new knowledge and he spends some time learning about the clan before talking with her.

He approaches her casually, striking a conversation and throwing few compliments here and there. Later on he makes it into a habit to compliment her hair and skills.

He is of course intrigued by her famous combat skills, but he isn't looking forward to seeing her fight or being in combat with her. The reason is, Shisui is a "gentleman" and he does not want to fight with a woman just to make sure she has good abilities. Instead, he fully believes her and always points out her strength to his friends and comrades.

His gentle nature makes the Uzumaki woman fall in love with him slowly. Shisui liked her already, but he wanted to take things slow and give her time to fall in love with him. He would not be angry if she didnt return his feelings, but he is VERY happy they share the same feelings for each other.

He would organise very cute dates for them. Picnic, stargazing, shopping dates, maybe even simple walking in the forest or flower fields. He wold gather beautiful flowers and gift them to her. Even if they are not in the flower field, where he can get the flowers himself, he will at least buy a beautiful bouquet for each date.

He makes sure to show his love and appreciation for her every chance he gets, which makes him more attractive in her eyes.

Itachi

As a history nerd, Itachi knows the Uzumaki clan and he is sort of surprised that there are still members of the clan as they have been massacred.

For this man, he does not have the courage to approach and talk with her. Itachi likes following her through shadows, learning more about her that way. It helps him evade any heartbreak he may encounter.

Little did he know, the Uzumaki woman knew about him following her long ago. She kept playing his game, waiting patiently when he will stop. Of course he didnt and she had to take matters into her own hand. During on of his regular following sessions, she took him by surprises with appearing behind him. "Isn't it time for you to talk to me instead of stalking me?"

Itachi was embarrassed of course, but he liked how fast she was and how she was aware of him stalking her all this time. Their first conversation would lead to a beautiful romance blooming between them.

They LOVE training together. As representatives of powerful clans and both having great techniques, it was easy to practice their skills together. They both helped each other to become stronger, with their feelings growing along their powers.

They were spending so much time together that their friends and some family members would tease them every time they had to leave the house. "Going to meet the mysterious Uchiha?" or "On your way to meet the red haired Oni?" comments were now asked by their families on daily basis. They could not debunk those questions of course, so they both would just silently leave the house.

Only after years of "friendship" would these two start dating. And the person who would confess their feelings first would definitely not be Itachi. Despite this, he was more than glad to get the chance to be romantic with the red haired beauty and he immediately asked her on a formal date.

Cute dates and meaningful conversations would accompany both of them everyday, turning their relationship more like a very deep spiritual connection, which they both enjoyed.

Madara of course takes the more standard position of The Father cuz clan head and all that. Tobirama is more Tobimama cuz he was with their kids the most when they were little.

But I'm asking more traditional terms. Madara as Chichiue/otou-san and Tobirama as Tou-chan and 'papa' when they're little?

Tobirama uses A LOT of them. At first to convince everyone and especially Madara himself that he is actually in love and then he actually got used to it. Madara doesn't hear his own name from his husband much lmao

Before marriage he'd call him 'Beautiful' and tease him like "Ah, you wanna dance, pretty boy?". He noticed how well Madara reacts to praise, especially of his appearance since he had an ugly duckling phase and had complexes.

Maybe later before the peace treaty and engagement he'd call Madara 'fiancé', cuz the fucker promised

When they're kids he might've call him and "Madara-chan". I mean he still has the experience from his first life and he was around kids a lot and here's little madara running around looking all small cute and funny. Ofc he's Madara-chan or at least -kun.

To be clear Tobirama probably didn't feel anything romantic towards Madara before he turned at least 16, it'd be hella wrong otherwise. Like he trained kids his age before!

But he was definitely fond of him cuz let's be honest Madara is hella cute and funny kid. That was one of the reasons why Tobirama didn't actually kill Madara when he got there. He can't just kill an innocent kid even if he has the potential to destroy the whole world.

Oh and he def called baby Izuna "-chan " just cuz he's a baby too and to see him lose his shit.

So in marriage Tobirama would call Madara lot of endearments. My love, my dear, husband dear, darling, my heart and ect.

For Madara it's an interesting story

As kids he'd try to call Tobirama "his future wife" and got thrown in the river or the river was thrown at him. He didn't get the same reaction when he called him "his future husband". Tobirama just slightly nod and Madara would be so happy for the whole day.

He'd also tried to call him beautiful once, but got shy and ran away. Maybe to go fight Hashirama to fight off frustration on himself. He's a good shinobi and he can't even compliment the boy he likes!

But he would initiate some hand holding and even hugs. Even though Hashirama REALLY didn't appreciate it. He can allow hand holding. But hugs? Hell no, "Madara get your dirty hands away from my innocent baby brother!! >:((("

When they had the fall out and Tobirama orchestrated meetings, he didn't use any terms and tried real hard to forget and bury his feelings cuz Tobirama is an enemy (even if he looks SO good when he fights)

He's an Uchiha and it didn't work. Especially cuz Tobirama still showed a lot of interest and tried to make peace.

Maybe once Madara would try to write some angsty poems about Tobirama's beauty and grace and how they couldn't be together because they're in warring clans. He thought he sucked so much but the poems are quite decent. Tobirama would appreciate it if he finds them.

After marriage he'd call Tobirama "Blessing" a lot. NOT bc of that Blessed AU that's circulating around, but just cuz he truly feels blessed that Tobirama chose him.

Oh and he'd be proud as a peacock to call Tobirama "His husband"

But when he's overwhelmed by feelings he'd be "my wife.... WIFE" - Tobirama really doesn't know where is it coming from, he's not even a proper wife by traditional japanese standards and he doesn't bottom much cuz he doesn't like the whole process of preparation (he's a busy man he can't stretch his ass for several hours straight)

also thinking about how after their deaths Madara's poems and letters to Tobirama while they were engaged but couldn't see each others and Tobirama's journal would be found and someone (probably some of their grand kids?) would edit it a bit and publish as a book as the most wholesome Romeo and Juliette story.

If Tobirama and Madara would get resurrected* again - they'd be like "THEY DID WHAT"

*it'd be a good thing for Tobirama to never actually leave any traces of this jutsu in the world, but he worried for his children and left them notes and some of his DNA in case something happens and Konoha needs saving or the whole world once again. Though maybe he'd made something of a counter seal (maybe a tattoo?) or counter jutsu that the person who summoned him wouldn't be able to control him.

Death Note x Naruto has taken over my brain these days, so I did another au (inspired by a friend's psychoanalysis on Madara who made me like bipolar Madara hc)

Basically, Madara take Light Yagami's place as Kira, killing criminals. One of the differences, tho, is that he doesn't wanna be acknowledged, since it would make his objective a lot harder

Kaguya is the shinigami, yey!! Should've I used Black Zetsu due to his nonhuman look? Yes, but I wanted to make Kaguya with a Samara from The Ring aspect + Kaguya is the mind behind Zetsu in anime + I like her better = Kaguya won

ANYWAY!!! Some lore points I have for now:

— Izuna takes Misa's place, bc he wants to help his brother getting rid of all the bad people; he seems somewhat more excited/engaged for this whole "new world's god" thing than Madara tho

Unlike Misa, he doesn't have the shinigami eyes, since Madara doesn't want his younger brother to take half of his lifespan away, especially when he already got it. Idk if Izuna has his own death note, so maybe he helps his bro in some other way (like the Oracle from DC vibes?)

— Madara wrote Tobirama's name as a "test" to see if the notebook was true. Why? Because that's his brother's ex who broke up horribly with him so why not (they realized they don't know where he is, so they couldn't possibly know if it work. two dummies)

— L is Tobirama... in the sense of who's against Kira, not who's the detective

"But he's dead way before Kira's mass killing was recognized as someone's doing, how is that possible??" you may ask, and I say

"Tobirama" is a fake name

See, l like mad scientist Tobirama and it's variations, so I needed to put this here. He's a criminal who never got caught, a really secretive one about his personal life, so most of the time he's using a fake identity to prevent people to keep a track on him; so it means Izuna didn't know his actual name and gave the fake one to Madara

"Tobirama" was one of the first people to realize all those deaths were induced by someone, so, in order to prevent his possible death in case he's caught, he started to hunt who could be Kira

— "Tobirama" is Hashirama's brother. He dyes his hair and wear eye contacts (and other things too like, idk, different clothing, some light make up to give a different look on his face) while undercover, so he can take a double life

You can't even imagine Madara's surprise when he finally realize his friend's brother and "Tobirama" are the same person

(I wanna make Itama = Tobirama, with his white hair + red eyes combo being his undercover while he has natural colors in his actual appearance, but I'm still deciding how confusing and cool it could be)

— Near and Mello aren't related to L in the slightest. I haven't decided yet who they could be (Maybe Kakashi=Near and Obito=Mello), but they would still be really close to the government and be, indeed, detective prodigies

Maybe they're chasing Kira at the same time as L? If I decide so, it would make Madara's life way harder, since it's both a criminal (with other criminals' contacts and accessibilities) and the government (two people above it, tbh) against him..... nah, he'd be caught way earlier, I need fun

Do you believe in the "curse of hatred" that Tobirama won't shut up about? Are Uchihas really dangerous like that?

I've never really gone into Tobirama's head because I don't personally like him as a character/person, but I did do some research for this ask.

So, he dislikes Uchiha. He lived in the Warring Era with Uchiha clan being their worst enemies and their biggest rivals. Of course that would influence his views on the clan and its people, because as soon as he sees Sasuke with Orochimaru, his instant reaction is to lump him with the man, without knowing anything about him.

However, at the same time, he also associates Uchiha clan with love.

As someone who had battled against them, saw how they fought and their strengths and weaknesses, he has a fair idea of the psychology of the Uchiha. What he's describing has a living and shining example in none other than Madara himself.

He seems to begrudge and admire the Uchiha. He's prejudiced against them and it's only natural because of their shared history. So, when he's calling out the Uchiha, it has a good reason. If the Uchiha were asked about the Senju, they would most likely have the similar opinion. Not all, because, yes, they accepted Tobirama's leadership over Madara's, but still. And if you notice, Tobirama specifically mentions people who shared Madara's will. He had a positive view on Kagami Uchiha.

Anyway, like I said before, he understood the Uchiha pretty well and it's not right to say that his judgement was "wrong" because what he's describing is actually a very human response, and that much love can lead to that much hatred too. It's just the extreme of the emotions and he's objectively not wrong about it. He's wrong to associate those qualities only with the Uchiha, though.

Sharingan reflects one's deepest despair and pain and we know extreme trauma awakens one's Sharingan and Mangekyo Sharingan. And the more an Uchiha suffers, the more powerful their eyes become. Sasuke is a prime example of it. Kakashi, who isn't even an Uchiha, when he felt pain and regret of the insurmountable level, he also awakened his Mangekyo. Was he an Uchiha? No. He was a human who had suffered extremely in a moment and reacted to how Tobirama describes an Uchiha would. Yes, Kakashi doesn't go out of his way to cause destruction like Obito does, but that's simply because of the outside influence of the people around them.

Kakashi was surrounded by people who loved him and Obito was lonely and manipulated into thinking he could change some things. In short, Obito's vulnerability and loneliness were taken advantage of, while Kakashi found people who cared about him.

Furthermore, people in the fandom defend and justify the Uchiha hating Senju, because of everything, but then turn a blind eye to whatever Uchiha did to Senju as well.

This, baby Itama was surrounded by a bunch of grown Uchiha men.

And killed.

Senju are evil and cruel for killing Izuna and anyone who loves that clan is depraved according to the fandom activists, but hey, how dare Tobirama hold grudges against the Uchiha for doing this to his brother.

The endless cycle of hate and violence that the main story repeatedly talks about stems from this. Truthfully, both the Uchiha and the Senju were at fault for perpetuating it. For what happened to the Uchiha clan, only Senju were not responsible, but also Madara.

Senju and Uchiha were both prejudiced against each other and they both institutionalised it. Madara through raw power when he continued to attack Konoha after becoming rogue, and Tobirama did it through the political power he held. Neither of them were innocent. But as is said, victors write history, and the narrative glorifies the idealogy shared by Naruto, Uchiha's love is antagonised and Senju are shown as good guys.

The Shinobi system itself is ruthless. It doesn't see humans as humans. I wouldn't call Tobirama a perpetrator of it, because he's the product of two system too, but he fails in his judgment, and is quite wrong about what he thinks about the Uchiha.

We see intense and violent reactions in many other characters in wake of losing the people they and the heartbreak that follows. How many of them were Uchiha? Konoan? Gaara? Nagato? None.

Tobirama doesn't see Uchiha in the positive light and it is understandable. He wants people who are loyal to Konoha. I believe we know more about Hashirama and his ideology regarding the village than we know about Tobirama. For Hashirama, the lives of people were important and that's why he wanted to establish the village. But what did Tobirama want? Did he care about the land? Did he care about the people? He seems completely okay with the fact that Uchiha clan was exterminated.

And contrary to the popular belief in the pro Uchiha camp that claims he "praised" Itachi for massacring his clan, the man doesn't see Itachi any differently, despite hearing the whole story from his own student and successor. What was he really so fixated on the village for if he cannot love its people?

Tobirama describes the intense and powerful reactions in an Uchiha that has them cursed. He says "cursed clan" rather than the "cruse of hate", because I can't find the exact words where he says that (I'd add those if someone can provide me with page/panels).

He has bad experiences, but his problem is that despite being in the position of the power and being responsible for everyone, he refused to grow up. He refuses to sympathise with a child whose family was murdered at the orders of his successor. He refuses to sympathise with a child who was forced to kill his parents and then died at his brother's hands.

Cute Overload

@iznlover This was actually too big to fit in the inbox or didn't send for some other reason. So I made this blog to basically send in my future asks lol.

I was thinking about the Izuna cute aggression post by @doveywovy...

Please consider Tobirama with a cute allergy.

At first it doesn't come up because the Uchiha are his enemies and Izuna is surprisingly professional in battle. But all it takes is for the Uchiha brothers to get into a light spat right before the fight for Izuna to bring out the whining and the sulk and the pout. Tobirama is instantly KO'd.

That, or maybe something causes Madara to be unusually sappy with his little brother after a fight and Tobirama turns to the sound of Izuna giggling and letting off a blindingly bright smile with his hair tousled.

Allergy symptoms include clutching his heart, congestion in the throat, and watery eyes whenever Izuna's nearby.

He begins to notice other little things Izuna does that's adorable to him. When he pulls off a particularly difficult maneuver, or gets the best of Tobirama in battle, his expression is basically smug_cat_face.png. When Tobirama gets the drop on him despite the sharingan, his eyes widen and he makes a little :o with his mouth. Once Izuna caught a mild cold and during their fight, he let out the tinniest little kitten sneeze. He had to later dodge explaining to Hashirama why he'd suddenly collapsed to his knees mid-battle.

Izuna is, of course, confused and even maybe a little bit offended that his rival now seems so disgusted by his presence.

If they both make it to building the village together, Tobirama will sometimes get up and leave a meeting after Izuna has spoken, which does nothing to quell the rumours that he still hates the Uchiha.

Secretly, Tobirama begins doing things like leaving Izuna books/trinkets he thinks he'd enjoy and then watching from a distance as he lights up with a smile. He joins Izuna on negotiation missions because Izuna giggles afterwards if things go well and he talks his way into a good deal, and pouts if he ended up having to concede too much.

He even waits outside of interrogation rooms in T&I because Izuna practically (or actually) skips out after a job well-done.

TLDR: Tobirama thinks Izuna is adorable in the way people think mongoose, Tasmanian devils, or (perhaps more appropriately) wolverines are adorable.

Uchihas are Jew-coded

I first started headcanoning this after seeing Obito's Kamui dimension. His panic room looks a lot like the Holocaust memorial in Berlin.

Tikkun Olam: if I ruled the world...

Jews have a collective imperative of Tikkun Olam, aka fixing the world. Obito's and Madara's drive to do so means little on the face since many anime villains have this goal, but given the previous things mentioned, this looks like part of a pattern. Itachi and Sasuke, too, wanted to shoulder the weight of the world to make it a better place. Even if it meant the whole world hating you - like the whole world has hated and still hates Jews.

Let's delve deeper into that hatred, shall we? The anti-Semitic conspiracy theory that we secretly run the world is directly tied to our imperative to fix it. You can't fix anything without power and influence. In fact, the whole notion of Tikkun Olam being our job, may strike Gentiles as conceited and inspire hatred. Obito and Madara needed to "run the world" in order to "fix it" and were happy to accept that this meant being hated.

This "Jews control the world" conspiracy theory connects seamlessly to Konoha's suspicion of the clan conspiring to take over and using the Sharingan, a trait unique to the Uchiha, to control tailed beasts in order to execute such a take-over. Kotoamatsukami is the ultimate parallel to Jews secretly controlling the media, and with them, public opinion (but not in our favour?).

Just like the Sharingan, Jews have, or are accused of having, singular qualities that facilitate our rise to power. This is because Judaism is a closed (ethno)religion and opting in (converting), having interfaith families etc. is discouraged. In some ultra-Orthodox communities, this is taken quite far... Let's just say that Uchiha wives, too, take their husband's last name, but Mikoto Uchiha looks like Sasuke looks like Izuna... go figure.

Of course, in the case of Jews, this quality is not so much a gate-kept genetic trait, as a gravitation towards intellectual and influential professions passed down through generations. This is a direct result of anti-Semitic policy though: often being excluded from handicraft etc, Jews shifted the focus to administrative, financial and legal sectors. Jews are also traditionally studious, so our apparent domination of the Noble Prize is a result of this.

But no matter the cause of our success in certain areas, it would obviously have Gentiles eyeing us with suspicion. Why is a single ethnoreligious minority so prominently represented in positions of influence and acclaim? What might we be plotting? Why shouldn't we be plotting, since we ARE - allegedly - conniving, manipulative and greedy? Better get rid of us. Remember: Nazis hated Jews and were scared of arts and literature. Ghetto Uprising/Beware the Beginnings

People who don't usually praise children, including those of "colonizers", getting slaughtered and mutilated, suddenly praised exactly that. These people have always been anti-Semitic and found an excuse to be loud about it by weaponizing Palestinian suffering, which they only care about because Jews are the culprit. Proof: Houthis are starving Muslim children in Yemen, China oppresses Uyghur Muslims, Assad gassed Muslims, America bombed Muslims for 20 years, but - crickets. Think about it.

Likewise, the Narutoverse counterpart of the Nazis or Hamas, Tobirama and his acolytes, have found many a lazy excuse, most notably the Kyuubi attack. They suspected an Uchiha, and little did they know they were right, except, just like Netanyahu and the people under his command, a single deranged Obito did not represent a critical mass of Uchihas. And yet, the clan, just as world Jewry, faced collective punishment. The Narutoverse Nazis were frothing at the mouth for an excuse for decades, and notable Uchiha individuals kept delivering, not least because their own incompetence, just like Netanyahu's, allowed things to get that far to begin with.

Isobu

Doesn't Isobu look a lot like shellfish? And isn't he why Rin killed herself? Rin was Obito's everything and she died because of this monster. Not that it was Isobu's fault, but still.

Jews aren't allowed to eat shellfish. Obito has every reason to hate shellfish for the mere memory that stuff evokes. I know it's a bit of a reach, but again, patterns.

Dress Codes

For a proud, prominent clan with a bit of a superiority complex for their gate-kept characteristics, the Uchiha sure dress very modestly, the women even more so. In fact, they might just be the least flashy of all Konoha communities. The muted colours and baggy cuts scream "modesty". If you've ever wandered an Orthodox Jewish neighbourhood, you'll see the women tend to wear long, plain skirts, long, tight sleeves, ultra-conservative shoes, and plain, long or covered hair.

Mikoto fits right in, but so do other Uchiha women. Izumi is a bit "daring" with her sleeveless look, but her overall style still fits. Nobody in that clan seems to have much vanity, while the general population of Konoha and the Narutoverse at large, is a lot more individualistic.

Flag Infestation

Uchihas have no chill when it comes to plastering their logo everywhere in their compound. They were driven out of the general public and are doubling down on pride as a result. Same applies to Jews in the safety of our indigenous homeland (the Jewish Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem predates Islam, born in modern Saudi Arabia, by many centuries, so don't Gobacktoeurope me).

Oh, and a Nazi found an excuse to ghetto them up, assigned some of them authority to keep their own in check (Sonderkommando/"Konoha" military police), then got rid of them all and managed to sell it as a necessary evil.

Now, going back to the request, OF COURSE MADARA CRIES, he's one of those persons who cries out of anger, it bothers him a lot because he feels weak but has a great facility for tears.

Now, what I did to him in this piece is a bit cruel, I apologize🤣🙏

He can't stop pacing the hallway, anxious and nervous, desperate because of the screams he hears on the other side of the door. The midwives demanded he stay out of the room to avoid creating more chaos, his distress palpable in the air every time he asked "Is she in a lot of pain? Is the baby okay? Is something wrong with (Y/N)?"

He was kicked out of the place to avoid putting more pressure on the poor women assisting with the delivery, and even as the clan leader, he was taken away the choice of whether to be part of the moment or not. It all pushes him so far over the edge he even resorts to taking off his gloves and chewing his nails like he's 15 years old again.

"You look like crap, Aniki." Izuna comments with a smirk on his face, openly mocking his poor older brother. Leaning against the wall with his arms crossed, he looks at him with amusement and even a bit of pity.

As always, his Otouto accompanies him.

"No shit." He snorts in anguish, tearing the skin off his finger and hissing from the burning. He may be the strongest warrior of all his time, but he can't help the little mundane aches and pains of day to day life.

"What's got you so bad? It's just a baby." He reaches out to him as if to lay a hand on his shoulder, but stops before doing so, knowing the outcome, clicking his tongue at how fickle fate is.

Staring at the ground and swapping the tortured finger for a new one, he fails to get out from inside his mind, raise his head, react. Worry consumes him, and (Y/N)'s screams of agony don't help. "Exactly that. I couldn't protect anyone, I couldn't protect you, I won't be a good father, what if-"

"Wowowo, hold your horses, Aniki. You couldn't protect me because I wouldn't let you, if anyone was going to take that idiot down it was me. We talked about it many times, didn't we?" He stands in front of him, unable to get his older brother out of his vicious cycle of insane thoughts, and crouches down to the ground to meet the path of his eyes. He smiles at him again, an act that always manages to get Madara's attention, and he finally listens to him.

"Did you think of a name? That'll be your job if it's a boy." Madara jumps in a startled gasp as (Y/N) screams louder than ever, and looks at the door separating them as if wanting to set it on fire. Respecting the midwives' wishes feels stupid, but neither does he want to get in the way of things he doesn't understand.

"Izuna." He answers without moving his eyes from the spot, walking and avoiding his younger brother like he couldn't just walk right through him. He moves a little closer to the door, waiting.

"What?" The younger Uchiha gets up, and moves back to stand next to him, not understanding.

"Izuna, for the name."

"You want to give your precious baby my terrible name? You'll doom him to be a beautiful mess."

"Tribute, so he'll always remember the uncle he never knew." And at the moment his eyes fill with sadness and melancholy, his brother decides to change the course of the situation.

"If you want to pay tribute to me, take him to visit my grave and drink sake over my remains, you idiot. I say you name him Inari, I always thought it was beautiful."

"Inari..."

"Sounds nice doesn't it? It's a good one to scold him after he gets in trouble, which I'll make sure he does."

"Will the baby be able to see you?"

"We'll find out."

"MADARA-SAMA!" the door suddenly opens, one of the midwives coming out agitated "THE BABY IS COMING, SOON!" She demands him to re-enter the room, and Madara looks at his brother for encouragement.

He smiles at him again, and that's all he needs to know that everything will be okay.

The makeshift delivery room, on the other hand, is a mess. Several women run around moving bloody towels and trying to wipe the sweat from (Y/N)'s forehead. One holds her hand tightly as his wife pushes and pushes, legs spread wide and revealing a picture both terrible and wonderful.

"MADARA-SAMA!" the midwife shoves him from behind to the side of the bed where she attempts to deliver their child, unafraid to be rough with the clan leader. Madara, unable to react, grabs the hand that was previously held by another woman, as he stares at her belly and can do nothing but try to hold back tears.

Paralyzed by inoperability and not knowing what to do, the Uchiha feels useless, incapable of helping or assisting in any way. His expertise is in fighting, combat, violence, he has no idea how to act in sensitive situations or those that require emotional intelligence. He is afraid to say something inappropriate, something that will upset (Y/N), and cannot find the strength to speak without crying.

No one told him he would feel this way, an experience so surreal as to make him break down.

The last time he cried disconsolately was with his brother's death, years ago, but his child's birth seems to challenge him in the same way, the miracle of life and the product of his own dedication coming to reward him, demanding him to pour out all his feelings through tears, no shame for being in front of strangers.

Everything seems to disappear around him, focused only on his wife and the task ahead. The stupor washes away little by little, getting into the game and helping her get through the experience as best he can.

At one point he thinks to be speaking words of encouragement, but has no track of what is going on. The image of (Y/N) suffering, crying, screaming, stirs him to the core of his very being, wishing he could take away her agony and be the one to endure this odyssey.

He holds her hand with both of his, while between his wife's legs two midwives demand further pushing. Everything is chaos, a maelstrom of speed where Madara can only concentrate on her, until he suddenly hears it.

The most beautiful cry he has ever witnessed, a small, high-pitched sound coming from a tiny baby in one of the midwives' arms. (Y/N)'s face automatically relaxes, ready to faint from exertion and exhaustion, yet she whispers "Hold the child" before smiling with genuine joy.

Madara, following orders while being totally out of his comfort zone, receives the newborn in his arms, and what was once silent tears now turns into unrestrained crying.

He crumbles in front of his baby for different reasons, moved and overwhelmed for having been able to produce something so beautiful, so delicate, after destroying and murdering as much as he did. That adorable little human being is proof enough, at least for him, of not being a disastrous person, for there being hope and kindness in his destiny, able to repent for all the lives he stole on the battlefield.

Izuna's death brought him great resentment for the world, condemning him to anger and rage as a way of life, willing to destroy whoever it takes to regain what was lost, yet (Y/N) saved him from an avoidable catastrophe, and showed him he could be more than his grief, giving him the tools to move on.

Holding the result of such pure and generous love in his hands is the mythical demonstration of how the blood on his hands is washable, how his past does not define him, and how his future is not marked by eternal pain.

The thrill of a better life engulfs him completely, as he stares with pure affection at the child he himself created. His son, utterly his, the most beautiful ray of sunshine. "Inari..." he whispers between sobs, and brings him closer to his wife for reconnection with his mother.

Upon reassuring (Y/N) is no longer bleeding and there are no further problems to worry about, the women begin to leave the room, carrying lots of bloody sheets and towels, cleaning the space little by little and giving privacy to the new family.

One of them takes the newborn for close examination, and when the room finishes clearing of people, Madara can see Izuna near his baby, making sure the midwife treats him well and takes proper care of his little Inari.

He can't help but cry again at the image, knowing his son will always have a guardian angel with him.

how did the uchiha siblings become growing up, I mean after becoming old and after Sumi's death 🤧 and their children becoming parents, are Kota and Izuna still immature kids, lol🤣?

Madara is actually pretty chill about the flow of time in this au. The kids are well, intelligent, and smug. He doesn’t have to worry about them really, but he did stress about the twins. Too many girlfriends and they’re too much like himself somedays.

It was nice to see them mellow out as they got older and to see Riki become a mother. It was then that he would think about how much his mother would have loved to see these things herself. He’d carry on the tradition she started and introduce Mikoto and Minori to their grandparents shrine.

Inari would be devastated by the lose of their mother and would lean on Yaya for support. Hugging his kids a little tighter. Their birthdays would be a bittersweet reminder that time is forever moving forward, but over all he’ll heal.

Once the kids are grown and moved out, he’d feel accomplished. He’s done his part and the kids are happy and healthy, he couldn’t ask for more. He’s more than excited when he meets his first grandchild 🥹

Kota would feel comfort in the thought that his parents are reunited. Sage knows that their mother had been lonely for years. He’s still a jerk, but he’s a mature one. His boys have proven to be traders with the choice of partners (all these Uchiha women and they choose girls from different clans), but they’re strong and their partners are too.

He would not handle becoming a grandfather well at all. What are they doing going around planting their seed? He’s too young for this bs 💀

Tenko is very sad about Sumi’s passing, but he knows she would want him to smile and be the one to make the others feel better too. So that’s exactly what he’d do.

All his work has lead to financial success, so he’s so ready for all his kids weddings and makes sure they’re some of the biggest events. And Tobirama will not hear the end of it when Ari gets knocked up by Sumire. They’re going to be co-grandpas!!

Izuna does show that he’s hurting, but he’ll spend a lot of time at his mother’s grave. He sees glimpses of his mother in his kids and some of their cousins, so it’s like she’s not missing some days.

As for his kids, he’s not really ready for any of their major milestones. However he’s present and willing to hear them out. He’d probably still be the father in law from hell and will absolutely treat his daughters spouse the worst if he dares make her cry

Izuna is on a quest to convince people he's not a hallucination (it's a losing battle)

Realistically tho, in that era, wouldn't it be more believable that Izuna is a ghost / somehow came back to life than fucking dimension travel?

Cearly the ghost of Izuna just doesn't realize hes died (common enough in ghost lore)

Tobirama is the only one who believes Izuna bc he has the brain cells to think ab dimension travel / time and space jutsu

Uchiha Izuna x Reader

“What’re you doing?” Izuna asked, watching you through narrowed eyes as you kneeled down in front of a kitten. The furry creature rubbed itself against the palm of your hand as you looked up at the boy, your eyes covered with a white cloth.

Izuna had always been weirded out by you. Always found it uncanny whenever you looked in his direction. At first he thought it was stupid that you walked around with something covering your eyes but he did eventually learn that it was because you saw too much when your eyes weren’t covered. While it still seemed pretty stupid to him the idea had shifted from stupid to weird. The worst part was you weren’t even an Uchiha.

Your clan, which specializes in their Ice Kekkei Genkai didn’t know what to do when you were born with such an uncommon Dojutsu that they ended up shipping you off to the Uchihas when you were young.

You smile in that stupid way you always do, “isn’t the kitten cute?”

“No and you should stop wasting your time with stupid things if you ever hope to master your stupid Dojutsu.” Izuna exclaimed.

You turn back to the kitten and Izuna can’t very well make out your expression. He thinks you're frowning but doesn't stick around long enough to find out. Not that he ever cared enough anyways.

“Ah, young (L/n)! Why don’t you come join us.”

Izuna, and the rest of the young Uchihas that had been listening to the lecture, turned to look up at you. You just happened to be passing by, turning to look at them through the doorway with covered eyes.

A few of the boys snickered and the girls whispered something to one another. Izuna rolled his eyes.

It’s always something with you, Izuna thinks. If you’re not playing with useless kittens or puppies you’re interrupting important lessons for the actual clan members. In fact, if Izuna had it his way he’d have never accepted you in the first place. Gone and sent you packing just like the rest of your Clan members. In fact, if they didn’t want you then why should they?

If you noticed the behaviour of the young Uchihas you didn’t bother to say or do anything about it.

You bow politely to the lecturer, “that’s alright. I’m actually wanted in the training hall right now. But thank you for your time and consideration.”

The lecturer standing at the head of the temporary classroom smiles, surprising Izuna.

He never smiles.

It’s annoying and shows blatant favouritism. Of course the clan elders like you. You’re just oh so polite and understanding. Always doing what was told and what’s expected. Just another reason why Izuna just can’t stand you.

“You will visit then, for dinner, won’t you?” The lecturer asks.

You flash that stupid smile, “of course.”

There isn’t much that annoys Izuna. But you-

“Izuna, why don’t you pair up with (L/n)?” His father suggested. “The two of you are around the same age and skill level.”

-You seem to be the exception.

“What?” Izuna exclaims, “but I wanna practice with my older brother!”

His father rolls his eyes, clearly not wanting to further engage with this pointless argument, “it won’t kill you to spar with her for a little while. And besides, you might find it rather constructive.”

“Fine.” Huffed Izuna, giving into his father’s demands, but only because he knows better than to argue with his father when he’s like this.

You’re looking up at his father for confirmation and he gives you a subtle nod. Then you turn to look at him, tilting your head curiously to the side, and seemingly staring at him through clothed covered eyes.

Izuna stares, “aren’t you gonna take off your blindfold?”

“No.”

“Don’t you usually take it off when you fight though?”

“So you noticed?” You tease.

“I…” Izuna groaned, “stop being annoying and just take it off already so we can get this over with!”

There isn’t much that annoys Izuna, but this-

“No.” You lower your body to the ground and into a ready fighting stance. “I don’t need it off to beat you in a fight.”

-This absolutely infuriates him.

When he charges towards you he doesn't expect you to anticipate his favourite beginning move. Neither does he expect you to dodge it and use his own momentum to turn it against him. You grab his wrist and twist it away from his body which causes him to fall backwards. Before he can worm his way out of your grip you’re letting him fly into the ground and pinning his arms behind his back.

Your movements are calm and ready.

It almost feels as though you can see the future.

He barely has enough time to think as you pull his arms back. Not far enough to injure him but far enough that he’s immobilized.

Thoroughly embarrassed one would expect Izuna to be absolutely infuriated, as he usually is with you, but Izuna strangely finds himself feeling calm. Maybe that’s a result of your cool hands against his own burning wrist.

It’s almost refreshing.

“That’s enough for you two.” Calls Izuna’s father.

You drop Izuna’s arms and look up to him. There’s a subtle nod that his father gives you that sends a jolt of happiness through you. Izuna isn’t quite sure how he knows you’re happy as you’re not smiling but he thinks he can see it in the way that your posture changes. Sees it in how you slightly lean towards his father as if you’re receiving praise from your own similar to how he does when Madara praises him.

And it’s almost… cute.

But you’re still useless.

Definitely still weird too.

“Izuna! Are you gonna play with us?”

Izuna turned to look at the young boys and girls that gathered around, “no. I’m gonna go practice today. I gotta catch up to Ni-chan afterall!”

The boys mumble amongst each other but eventually shrug and run off.

And a part of Izuna does want to run off and play with them. Of course, he doesn't. Not when so much relies on him. Even as a child Izuna had always been aware of his position in Clan life, even if he wasn’t the heir. Besides, it’s not as if Izuna hates training anyways. He’s always quite enjoyed improving himself.

Or at least that’s what he tells himself as he makes his way to the training grounds.

Most of the young kids don’t bother training unless it’s the mandated time that’s been assigned to them and why not? They are children after all.

And that happens to be another reason why Izuna can’t help but get irritated by you. Especially now as he watched you, already there on the training grounds, with your eyes closed as you hit various different targets.

Izuna has always understood other kids. Other people. Sometimes it was almost as though he could see past the masks most of them put up and into their inner selves. So why was it that he never really could get a good grasp of you? That he could never see who was underneath that stupid blindfold that you always wore?

You’re breathing heavily as you grab a kunai mid-air.

On Izuna’s return from the training grounds he passes by you again. You’re still in the midst of training.

The sun has already begun to set.

The bubble of annoyance that Izuna had worked off in training seemed to be coming back to him full force.

“What’re you doing?” Izuna asked.

You don’t bother to turn and look at him, “training.”

Izuna scoffed, “as if that’s going to help.”

“Pardon?” You ask, your voice breathless as you jumped up in the air and hit a target high up in the sky.

“Nothing.”

The cloth you usually wear is swaying slightly with your movements, attached to the side of your waist. Izuna suddenly finds himself wondering what colour your eyes might be. He imagines that you might have cool coloured eyes to contrast with your hair that always seems so sunkissed. Perhaps your hair seems sunkissed because of how much time you really do spend outside - though any hair compared to the dark Uchiha colouring is bound to seem bright.

He bets that you have kind eyes. The kind that lights someone up when you look at them. Not that he gets a chance to know as you tie the band around your eyes before turning back to look at him.

“Ya know,” Izuna says, “there’s no point in training if you just hurt yourself.”

You smile brightly, tilting your head to the side cutely as you move to stand beside him “is that a bit of sympathy I hear, Izuna?”

Izuna rolls his eyes, “just don’t be annoying,” as he begins to make his way back.

Izuna has half a mind to slam the door in your face.

Sure, you look cute with your hair pulled back as you stand at his door asking him if he wants to go for a walk with you but he definitely has half a mind after the stunt you pulled in sparring yesterday. He has to admit though, you’re pretty gutsy. He certainly wouldn’t have done something like that. He’d save his clanmates some form of pride after thoroughly getting beaten the day before, but he supposes you aren’t a part of the clan and so you don’t understand their customs. And it’s not as if people would think that badly of you anyways, with the Clan Elders always taking such a shine to you in the first place.

In fact, Izuna’s pretty sure they want you to marry his older brother when the two of you are all grown up. Something about hoping your Dojutsu enhances theirs. Izuna isn’t really sure of how that works though, both the Dojutsu and marriage things.

“And why should I go, (L/n)?” Asks Izuna.

“Because I asked you to.”

“And why are you asking me to?”

You smile shyly, “because I like you.”

“W-what?”

“Because I like you.”

“And what if I said that I don’t like you? Would you still like me then?”

“Of course.”

“And why’s that?”

“Because you’re you.”

Izuna hates how your words seem so earnest and pure. How they have such an effect on him. But mostly he hates that it seems so easy to you.

Izuna notes that you walk with your hands behind your back. Holding them together just as most of the elders in the Clan happen to do. That you prefer to wear your hair loose rather than down and that your gaze is never in a single spot for long. It’s as if you’re always waiting for something to happen. Looking around for anything that might be dangerous.

He also notices all the different looks you get from the other members of the Clan as the two of you make your way through. While most don’t seem to pay attention there are definitely expressions that Izuna is unfamiliar with. It’s almost as slurping as it is baffling for the young Uchiha.

Whenever he turns to look back at you, which is more often than he’d like to admit, he finds that you’re actually quite cute. From the way you smile ever so slightly as you look around and find interest in the smallest of things to that loose strand of hair that’s constantly being pulled back by you.

When you turn to look up at him Izuna has to quickly turn his head the other way.

You laugh, “what’re you looking at, Izuna?”

He frowns, “none of your business.”

“If you say so~”

“Don’t be annoying, (L/n).”

“(L/n).” You smile, nudging him slightly, “you can call me by my name, ya know. It makes me feel like an old woman when you use my last name. Besides, aren’t we friends?”

“Friends?”

“No?”

“No.”

“What? Why not?”

“Because I don’t want to be friends with you.”

“Why?”

Izuna huffs, “because you’re too annoying when we train.”

You’re blushing as you look at him, “okay, I am a little embarrassed after training but I only did that because I wanted to impress you.”

Izuna has to look away from you as a blush covers his own cheeks. He wanted to impress you too.

“What’re you looking at, Ni-chan?” Izuna asks, moving to sit beside his brother.

Madara’s expression softens as he turns to look at his brother, “the (L/n) girl.”

“Oh. What about her?”

“I was curious as to how good she was in her skills. The elders were thinking about sending her to the battlefield soon.”

“What? They can’t!” Izuna exclaimed, “She's from another Clan! Wouldn’t that be breaking their trust or something?”

They couldn’t send you. What if you had to fight your own Clan on the battleground. You would certainly be torn wouldn’t you? That’s a position that Izuna would never want you to be put in. Not just was it unfair but you’d have to betray either your own Clan or theirs and that would certainly tear you away from a critical part of yourself. He could already imagine how sad you would look when forced to make such a decision. And he’d likely wouldn’t ever be able to see your stupid smile again.

They just couldn’t.

He’d fight against it.

He’d-

Madara's eyes seared Izuna’s face curiously, “she won’t always be part of another Clan.”

“(L/n).”

“Oh,” you jumped slightly, “Izuna. What’re you doing here?”

“The better question is where were you?” Izuna says, “it’s way past sunset and you should have been back here hours ago.”

“I was out… training.”

“Really? Because I was out there all afternoon and I didn’t see you once.”

You shrug your shoulders, “I was out training… elsewhere.”

“Really.” Izuna’s voice is dry, clearly not buying whatever it is you’re trying to sell, “and where does this different training ground happen to be?”

“Why do you even care anyways, Izuna? It’s not as if you care about me anyways.” You didn’t smile.

Huh.

Why did he even care in the first place?

Wasn’t he supposed to not like you in the first place?

After what feels like forever of the two of you staring at one another you’re shoving yourself past him. His heart does this weird fluttering motion that he’s unfamiliar with. He feels as though his stomach has dropped. Then, before he knows it, he grabs your hand and pulls you back towards him.

“Just…” Izuna sighs, brushing back that stray strand of hair back, “just take care of yourself, okay?”

You look up at him curiously and he can feel your gaze through the cloth over your eyes. And then it’s quiet between the two of you for a while. His cheeks seem to be getting hotter and hotter the longer he’s beneath your gaze.

Eventually though, you smile and lean into his hand, “only for you.”

His heart fluttered.

Oh.

So that was why.

Whoaaah sunday maybe i'm going to ask you to write all's fair at the intersection (...and typhoon island) today

All's Fair at the Intersection:

Butsuma nods.  “If he makes it to the border, we’ll meet him there.” The Uchiha are, if anything, more protective of their coats than their eyes, though they’re monstrously ferocious about both.  The inside of Tajima’s coat is covered with embroidery: a tiger made of fire snarls in front of a smoking mountain, and the names of five Uchiha are embroidered into the coat, along with a dedication to one of the names as a reward for ‘the courage and wisdom to place the good of the clan before ambition’ which seems like quite an underwhelming feat to Tobirama.  The coat weighs more than it should, and when Tobirama rubs the fabric between his fingers, the outer and inner layers slide over what must be an armored middle layer.

Typhoon Island:

“Some of them… uh, how long… how long did they have me?” “We left the compound twelve days ago,” Izuna says.  “And it’s been four since Hikaku and I retrieved Kagami.” Ruri nods.  “They kept us all in a room, it’s all stone, and there isn’t any light at all except when they come in, and then it hurts because it’s too bright, but the rest of the time I couldn’t see anything at all, and—”  Her face screws up in an attempt to fight the tears that well up in her eyes.  “It felt like I was there forever and some of the kids said they’ve been here for weeks and weeks but maybe they weren’t actually.”

Could you share with us some Regulus & Tobirama friendship shenanigans? Izuna's reactions to those shenanigans are very welcome xD

"And you're sure the earthquake wasn't your doing?" Izuna asked, blank-faced but despairing on the inside.

Tobirama - the asshole - nodded, still unfailingly calm despite the frantic movements of the shinobi around them, trying to put out the portion of the forest that was on fire. There was an Akimichi in the background desperately using doton to repair the fissures that had split open the ground.

Regulus at least had the grace to look guilty when Izuna turned to him. His friend was fretting quietly, watching the chaos around them with a little furrow in his brow while nibbling at his bottom lip. It was a confused kind of emotion though - the associated guilt a bystander might feel at not helping.

Izuna really wanted to sigh.

"Do you...know what caused the earthquake at least?" he asked, some exasperation slipping through. Fuck, but he had been dead asleep when the call had come in. He wasn't awake enough to be the responsible one.

"An unexpected shift in the earth's tectonic plates that exacerbated the current issues of this region," Tobirama rattled off, making Izuna squint at him. He was doing it deliberately, Izuna just knew it.

"It was a natural occurrence," Regulus translated. "But we think a lot of earth-related jutsu have been used in this area and it's damaged the stability, so when a tectonic shift occurs, like just now, the impact is compounded."

Izuna looked at him, tired and frustrated. Regulus looked up at the sky for a moment, then back down.

"The ground's weak," he said, simplifying his language and speaking slowly in a way that would normally piss Izuna off. "You people throwing rocks at each other has made it worse."

"Is this going to be an immediate issue or can this wait another hour?"

Why was it always Izuna? Why couldn't Madara deal with this shit instead? His brother was the one who actually wanted this fucking village.

Tobirama finally stopped standing there looking pretty, and actually bent down to press his finger to the ground. To investigate Izuna's question or just escape the conversation, he didn't care. Whatever bullshit sensoring technique he was doing, Izuna left him to it for the moment, focussing back on Regulus.

"What were you two doing out here in the first place?"

He had said it casually, more an idle complaint of why his two-thirds of his social circle were out in the middle of the wilderness miles away from Konoha - but the way Regulus' expression abruptly smoothed out had Izuna's interest sharpening.

"Just an experiment," Regulus said waving a hand dismissively.

Too dismissively.

Izuna's suspicious mind rumbled to life.

"I wanted to see if I could increase my control over fire," Tobirama unexpectedly interjected, shamelessly taking the blame when the blaze was still being put out.

That was how Izuna knew they were lying.

His rival was, much to Izuna's chagrin, actually proficient in fire release. The wily bastard could use all the elements with minimal effort, though his water release was still his most devastating skill.

Tobirama would never have lost control over a fire, even as a child. He was too good to make such a mistake.

That he was here, admitting to such a misstep - that he was hinting at a deficiency in his abilities at all - was more revealing than if he had just stayed quiet.

Okay I keep writing comments for gravity of tempered grace in my head and then getting distracted before I can actually post them so I'm just. going to comment here instead because it's in front of me now

First: WOW you write so fast. This isn't actually like, important, but still. I am in awe

I love Izuna's cousin. "Suffer with me" he is exactly the kind of cousin Izuna (and really all of these characters) deserves. Also can't WAIT to see if Tobirama ends up finding that copy of his paper and assuming that if Izuna has it, that must mean he understands it and Tobirama can talk theoretical physics with him. I'm sure Izuna would have the FUNNIEST things to say to his cousin for causing that.

I also enjoy the chapter titles and how they tie in to each chapter. And the explanations for each of them, because I would NOT know what most of them are on my own at all.

I also like the butterfly effect/plot in general, how Tobirama got surprised by things changing in response to his changes, and now he doesn't really know what's coming even though the extra knowledge is still really useful. Can't wait to see what happens with that Nara he saved, and whether there's more fallout from the Uchiha invading.

I don't have a lot specific to say about the Hatake scenes, but I enjoyed them a lot! All the worldbuilding is fun, and very interesting.

Tobirama's characteization is also great and I love... all of it, honestly, but in particular deciding to just get a few graduate degrees on the side while he's with the Uzumaki, and his solution to people possibly not being loyal to Hashirama (even if I would also like to shake sense, or maybe just an iota of self preservation, into him for that last one).

Also while I am not the anon that asked about inspiration originally it was that ask that reminded me that oh yeah I had stuff to say, and actually I HAD heard Non-Stop... a few months ago probably? and went "this is Tobirama and Izuna exactly." So you are not alone!

Yeah I try to maintain a personal deadline so I never hit that point of losing interest because it's happened in the past. It really helps to develop a detailed outline beforehand for the whole story. Recently I've been trying to outline chapters before I write them too to see how that works for me.

I love the vision of reticent and usually quiet Tobirama just rambling about his interests. I think it'd catch Izuna off guard a little but he'd probably find it cute once he can admit that to himself. I also headcanon the Uchiha as being attracted to competency so I'm sure that'll kick in sooner or later.

I'm glad you like the chapter titles and explanations! I thought it'd be a fun way to tie everything together especially with a scientist protagonist. It's been really fun but as the story gets longer than anticipated I'm nervous about running out of relevant topics to reference lol.

The Nara will definitely be back once his clan stops mourning the death of his father. It's great that people still remember him.

It's been such a blast to dive into the worldbuilding with this fic a little bit because Naruto has such fascinating lore that wasn't explored. My biggest struggle is making sense of just how modern the time period is because it seems like the Edo period but then 60 years later Naruto has a fridge and television so who knows really. I'm making it up as I go.

The blue wardrobe against his pale skin and hair (I support the headcanon that he's albino, I think it adds so much depth) with his red eyes and face marks. How prettily his eyes are shaped too. His sarcasm and dry humor. And (last thing I promise) when he gets so indignant after Nart mistakes his jutsus for Minato's. (i literally named almost everything whoops)

HashiTobi obvs. I think their brotherly relationship is cute. Hashirama is the older sibling and yet the one who is more responsible and level-headed is Tobirama. Also the fact that Tobirama lived his life to realize Hashirama's dream of his village--as he knew Hashirama was a visionary but lacked the concrete know-how to actually execute his vision.

I have two.

TobiIzu in the way that they were true equals and I headcanon the idea that while Tobirama harbored the generational mentality that Uchiha were evil, he was also very fascinated by the Uchiha in general because of their traditions/prowess, and Izuna's strength and abilities in particular were so intricate, it was his favorite thing to study. Izuna got under his skin (which amused Izuna) and Tobirama couldn't help but be interested and in awe of him despite his pesky beliefs about the Uchiha. I believe he felt heavy guilt when he killed him.

TobiKaga in the way that Kagami was the only Uchiha ever to gain Tobirama's utmost trust. I want to know so badly how Kagami was able to obtain it. I believe Kagami was a very sunny-personality-type, who inherently understood where Tobirama was coming from and had unwavering respect for him. The beautiful "you are my exception" trope. I support the headcanon that Kagami got his Mangekyo after Tobirama left to be the decoy.

I do enjoy me some MadaTobi/TobiMada, after all they are very similar and they butt heads to it's always fun to read fics where they're stubborn in admitting they're attracted to each other.

unpopular opinion

I don't believe he is prejudice against the Uchiha, I believe his misgivings about them are so ingrained (from growing up as Butsuma's son, having to view them as enemies all his young life) in his mentality that he refuses to give them up because that would mean admitting he's wrong which he never does.

I believe he did his very best to make sure Konoha would be successful and strong (creating the ANBU, delegating roles to clans, etc.) and the fact that some backfired was not his fault. He's only a person and did the best he could with what he had.
