You stand by the kitchen door, hand on your hip and brow raised.
"This again?" You ask the moon-themed bot in front of you, as he leans one elbow on the counter. Awkwardly, mind you, with his height.
He shrugs, despite very clearly blocking the door to outside. "I'm afraid I don't follow, Sweet."
You cross your arms, nodding to behind him. "Okay, then may I get past you to go outside?"
"Why bother?" He tsks. "Dreadful weather today, wouldn't you rather stay inside?"
You wrinkle your nose. "No. I think it's a lovely morning actually, based on how sunny it is, and the nice breeze coming in through the window. I'd like to read my book on the swing."
You'd gotten up extra early for exactly this reason. You were hoping if you woke up just a bit sooner, you could sneak out and enjoy the garden as you'd so been hoping to. It was a bit frustrating that you had to put it that way. 'Sneaking out' of your own home. But that's what it had come to at this point.
Loved them as you did, but your gardeners had been exceedingly... difficult over the course of the last month or so. Despite the spring months finally being upon you, the prime time to truly enjoy the garden and appreciate their hard work, you'd been banned from the space entirely.
Keep in mind, they were always bashful when it came to their work, and would sometimes not let you see their handiwork in the early days of spring since it wasn't 'complete' until all the flowers bloomed. This was different however, as you hadn't been barred from seeing the castle gardens just mere yards from your residence, nor the plants being tended to in the greenhouse.
No, it was specifically what they were working on in your garden—the walls far too high for you to peek over, unfortunately—where the source of your woes lied. Apparently. They were being incredibly secretive about the whole affair, going so far as to deny outright that you were banned from your own space.
Or in this case, making excuses.
"Ah, but the weather could change at any time. Surely you'd rather not take the risk and spend your time doing something else?"
You lean back on the kitchen counter. "Like?"
"Reading your book inside, of course." Moon nods, straightening and walking over to you. "Even better, you can read it to me, out on the parlor couch, perhaps. I could hold you, or better yet, you could hold me. I've a terrible crink in my neck that only resting in your lap can resolve I fear. What do you say?"
You tilt your chin up as he now stands in front of you, towering over you even when he sets his hands on the counter on either side of you. Not so subtly blocking you in.
You hum. "Don't you have work to do?"
"Sun can handle himself for a bit, and really I think I've more than earned a morning's rest." He leans down so your faces are only a few inches apart. "You wouldn't deny your poor Beloved a break, Star. Right?"
You huff, though the temptation to take him up on his offer—and more—was at an all time high. "Beloved is a bit of a stretch at the moment."
"Is it now—" Just as the gap was about to close between you, Moon is gone. He makes a strangled noise of surprise as he's yanked back by a half-gloved yellow hand.
Sun releases him after a moment, cheery as can be. "More than earned a morning's rest, hm? Last I recall you didn't spend six hours potting pansies without a break, did you?"
Moon grumbles, but doesn't retaliate further than that.
Before you can say anything, Sun turns to you, seeming to know what you were going to say. "The garden is off limits for the time being, Sunbeam. I might suggest the castle grounds for a good location instead. Once we've finished up here this morning I'd be happy to join you. I'll even bring lunch if you'd like." He finally finishes putting on his glove, adjusting his work apron.
"And just where do I fit into that scenario?" His counterpart asks, searching around for his own outerwear.
Sun's grin widens further, eyes upturned crescents. "Why, you'll be busy trimming the hedges that you've been putting off all week, of course."
"That all sounds lovely, though I do feel bad for Moon." You step closer to the sunny animatronic, arms coming up to wrap around his neck. "But I do have to press you on the reason for why I can't access part of my own home. Which you live in, mind you."
He sadly doesn't buy into your scheme, hand cupping your cheek as his rays click. "You'll find out soon enough. No need to go spoiling the surprise at this time. Go enjoy your morning, Love." He presses a kiss to your forehead and you scoff lightly, despite the heat rising to your cheeks.
"Fine. But no more putting mud on the windows, while I'm gone. Makes me feel like I'm living in a cave." You hadn't expected them to go to such lengths, though knowing them you weren't surprised either.
"No promises~"
Later on in the day you do in fact, enjoy a picnic with Sun, Moon nearby as he begrudgingly trims hedges. Though, another week goes by, and you still can't enter the garden. Not to mention, the flirty banter you typically so easily exchange has dropped to practically nothing.
Your advances are avoided, to the point you can hardly even get a goodnight or good morning kiss. Which, given that you were used to being overwhelmed with affection, being underwhelmed is, incredibly deflating. So, you decide to change your tactic.
You wait until one of them is alone, in this case Sun, to strike. While he may act very blunt and avoidant with Moon around, alone you think you can get him to slip up and finally tell you what they're up to.
You find him on a quiet rainy afternoon hard at work in the greenhouse. The rain pitter-patters softly against the glass far above, the space cast in a bit of shadow from the grey sky and plants that are all encompassing throughout.
He's at a workbench, tending to a group of sickly looking hydrangeas when you find him. He jumps a fraction when your arms wrap around him, head resting on his shoulder as you watch him work.
"Oh, hello, Starlight. What brings you here in these conditions?" Despite the evenness of his tone you can hear a tinge of anxiety underneath.
Your hands shift to slide across his arms, causing him to freeze at your touch. "Was curious about you. Wanted to make sure you were alright."
"Well, as you can see, I'm simply just—" He hesitates as you turn to kiss one of his rays. "B-busy. Would hate for these hydrangeas to wither away because of a lack of care."
You chuckle, kissing him again. "I suppose so. What a pity." Just as he turns to face you, you pull back from him, moving to sit on the workbench instead.
"Something else you need, Sweetpea?" Sun chuckles nervously, you can see the smallest hint of steam arising from him.
You have to smother your smirk to keep your own composure. "Nope, just want to watch you work is all. Don't mind me."
"Ah, of course."
For several minutes there's nothing but muted clinking and such as Sun works, posture stiff as you keep your eyes—and hands—on him. Just simple little touches, traces patterns on his forearms or handing him things every so often. It only spurs you further as you notice your plan is working, the flustered avoidance you'd been experiencing is now just fluster, and you see your chance.
"You know. There is something else I'm thinking you could help with." You reach out and cup his chin. "If you're willing, that is."
You see his rays flutter just a tad. "That so?"
"Mhm. It'd be really easy for you to do too. And if you do, I might have something for you in return." You lean in, just hovering your lips above his smile.
He chuckles, eyes-lidded. "A trade then? I'm certainly not opposed."
"I was hoping you wouldn't be. Now, close your eyes—hey!" You're suddenly plucked off the bench and hauled over a shoulder by blue and white hands. Quickly marched away from a startled and utterly confused Sun, as you see when you glance back.
Moon sets you down by the door to the greenhouse, displeased grin on his features. "Dirty tricks like that belong in the garden, Moonflower."
"Well, I'm not allowed in the garden, so I had to resort to other locations." You huff, brushing off your clothes. "Was that really necessary?"
He bends to your level, eye to eye and inches apart. "It was."
"You're not on my kiss list now, I hope you know that."
Moon's hands cup your cheeks, faceplate spinning once. "What a shame then, that you're on mine."
He kisses you once, then steps back.
"Tomorrow, if the weather clears up, tomorrow you can go in the garden as you choose. I promise." His thumb rubs against your cheek, troubled look in his eyes before he shakes his head.
You keep your frown, despite the heat on your face, and nod. "Tomorrow, then."
You stomp out of the greenhouse and into the rain in the hopes of making it clear your resolve is temporary. In reality you think it just makes you cold, and wet.
But, the next morning the sun peeks through the clouds and after a brief and somewhat quiet breakfast, your gardeners finally relent.
While you're beaming with excitement, they both seem nervous as can be. You're so caught up in all the activities you wish to do that you're only half catching the anxious looks and fidgeted movements they share between each other.
Sun's hands are clasped in front of him as he speaks. "We're sorry it's taken so long, Love. We had several setbacks—" He sends a glare to Moon, who shrugs. "But, we hope you like it."
"And if you don't, just keep it to yourself." Moon's hand rests on your shoulder with a snicker, though there's still that nervous hint to his tone.
You scoff at the two of them. "I always love what the two of you create. Regardless of whether it's for me or anyone else."
With a final sigh, Sun steps out of your way and you all but skip over to and out the door, the warm morning light hitting your skin like an embrace. The garden sparkles from the dew and the day prior's rain. All across—
"Roses?" You ask, in awe at the sheer abundance of them.
Several varieties and colors cover the expanse of the garden, from the edges to the center. Every flower bed is filled to the brim with them. Yes, there's the typical flowers and bushes they plant as well, sprinkled in here and there. Primarily, however, are the roses.
You walk through the grass with a sense of curiosity at the scenery around you. It's breathtaking, but not the least bit suffocating. Brimming with life, but not crowded. It was, in a way, perfect.
Though, you don't understand why they tried so hard to hide this from you. Yes, it was stunning, but the secrecy you just couldn't—
As you turn around again, you see the two of them standing there, together, with a large bouquet in their hands. It consists of bright yellow and deep purple—near black—roses.
"These are for you, if you hadn't already guessed." Moon's gaze is elsewhere as he holds the flowers out with his counterpart.
Sun's rays are spinning quickly as you flick your gaze to him, he coughs and also looks away. "We, we hope it's to your taste. We got what we thought would suit you best."
You're too stunned to really think on the words. "Oh, these are, incredible." You say, gently taking the neatly wrapped bouquet from them. "For me, really? You didn't need to—"
Inspecting the flowers closer, you realize that in the center of the cluster, there's something shimmering in the middle of a rose. This one is different from all the others. Its center is yellow, but the outer petals expand out into that deep violet, with speckles of contrast all throughout. Lying in the very center however, is a ring.
It clicks then for you.
"This needed to be special, to show how much you mean to us, hence all the preparation." Sun states.
Moon continues. "An ordinary flower wouldn't do you justice, nor would an ordinary proposal. The garden served as the best place to refine both."
You nod slowly, feeling a little more than just choked up.
"Is, are you, will you—" Sun stops himself.
"Would you do these two humble fools the honor of having your hand?" Moon asks.
"Yes, that."
You nod again, quicker now, face on fire and tears pricking your eyes. "Yes, yes, absolutely yes!"
Before either can react you shift the bouquet so you can grab them both by their shirts, planting a kiss to each of their smiles several times.
Breathless, you pull back to hug them both. "I would have taken just a simple stroll by the lake, you didn't have to go through all this trouble just for me. But know I appreciate it more than anything. Thank you, I love you. So, so much."
Based on the clicks and whirls that emit from the two of them, and the bits of steam, you think they're as overwhelmed as you in that moment. Sun's lop-sided grin and Moon's half-lidded daze makes you chuckle.
"Duly noted." Sun states.
Moon nods. "Don't spend four years seeding, growing, and experimenting with roses next time. Understood."
"Four years?" Your brows shoot up. "But we met just roughly four years ago."
"We know. We started on this about a week in."
At this you shake your head, laughing outright. You give them another kiss, and revel in that moment.
It's going to be one you cherish for years to come.

Only have two shifts remaining in my Emergency Medicine block and I honestly don't think I've ever been sadder about the prospect of finishing a work placement 😢
#thought I would hate working in A+E but I've honestly loved it#which is mildly concerning seeing as I'm halfway through my GP Training 😅#I do want to specialise in rural GP though which tends to have acute/emergency medicine built in so the fact that I've enjoyed my time -#- in A+E is honestly such a relief#and I'm moving onto Paediatrics next which will also be lovely (especially as hanging out in Paeds A+E has been one of my fave parts of -#- the last 6 months)#but man I think this is the first placement where I've felt such a constant sense of enjoyment at work#and even on the shitty busy days the team of nurses and consultants are always so lovely and supportive#it hasn't all been sunshine and roses; I cried on the way home from work only two days ago after having to tell a lovely man and his -#- partner that his presumed stroke was actually a brain tumour#(thankfully a very rare occurrence but still a huge fucking gutpunch when it happens and it always seems to happen to the nicest people)#but I would happily spend six more months there if I could#also I know how to stitch people up now! was absolutely terrified of that before starting but now if someone needs their face sewn up I -#- just get on with it 😅#ah well - no point in being maudlin when I just know that within a week of starting Paeds I'll probably be having the time of my life#junior doctor shenanigans#medicine

I'll look After You
Pairings: Satoru Gojo x fem reader (reader is a mom)
Summary: You longed to hear from Satoru, After an epic night hooking up in a club bathroom, sure you'd been strangers, but he has your number, he made you feel so special... but... he never contacts you again. Ten months later, you have a beautiful baby named Reign, with those exact blue eyes. You never saw him again, couldn't even find him, so now, you are living your life as a single mom. Messy bun, dark circles, exhausted, you run into Satoru one day, and he sees her, his baby girl, and sees you struggling, he knows then, you're what's been missing in his life.
CW: Going to be sweet and emotional, Satoru is a freaking doll, misunderstanding led to him not knowing (nothing is kept from anyone on purpose) Fluffy long oneshot where Satoru falls in love with reader and his little girl. Gojo being a dad and being cute! Will have smut at the end as all my oneshots do lol, so MDNI, and flashbacks to the original bathroom smut
Full oneshot HERE
You often wondered about him, Satoru was his name.
As you look down at your baby girl, with her brilliant blue eyes while she’s cooing happily, giving you a gummy little grin, you wonder what he’d think if he knew about her. The random guy at the bar you gave your number to after hooking up in a bathroom, the guy who never called, the guy with no social media of which to speak. The guy you never, ever saw again.
Your baby’s father, the best thing that ever happened to you, surely, but also it was very difficult, being a single mom, you’d have to go back to work soon which you were dreading, spending sleepless nights up feeding, changing her. It had been a rough pregnancy, and a shocking one at that, people had questioned you over and over, some mentioned not having her.
But something in you knew you could do this, you could have this baby, you’re broke as fuck but she has all she needs, and she makes you so happy, but those eyes are unmistakable. No one has eyes like that, except her and her… well was he really her 'dad'? You wonder if he’d run ten million miles from you if he knew, or would he have been okay with it?
It’s odd that just a night of fun, alcohol and being on antibiotics created this amazing little girl, but you can’t be upset, not when she brightens your world. But you still ache at times, for her to have a dad, you hope you’re enough. You wonder about him though, the bright energetic man, the one that had made you feel more in one evening than anyone ever.
The last man you’d been with.
Yes, it’s been that long, Reign was two months old, so you’re damn near at a year, you say it’s because you’re so busy, but something deep in you knows that you felt something for him, deeper than the obvious physical. Something about how he looked at you, at how he laughed, at how he made you feel so special.
You assume it must have been some act, clearly, here you are, alone after all. You both only knew each other’s first names, it’s true, but he had that number. Maybe it wasn’t all you thought it was? Maybe he just was that sort of guy, the one that made women think they’re his everything with one of his kisses, maybe you were just too drunk, and he was too pretty.
You blink a bit, shaking the haze thoughts of him as you yawn a bit, exhausted from Reign keeping you up all night, her tummy had been hurting. You’re sleepily putting things in the cart, baby items, groceries, the essentials, you catch sight of yourself in the mirror above the produce, wincing then. You have a messy bun and are in pajamas, god help you if you ever wanted to meet a guy.
‘Oh hi, I have a baby with a random blue eyed dude from a bar, I’m broke as fuck, and I wear pajamas to the store. Wanna date?’
Yeah. That would go over well.
“It’s… it’s… you!?” You sleepily look up then, so exhausted you barely register the six foot three man for a moment, then suddenly it all hits.
He stares at you, those blue eyes, the eyes your baby has, wide now, his pouty pink lips dropped open. He’s just as gorgeous as you remember him, like it’s some dream, you feel weak then, chest rising and falling as your breaths come too quickly. He steps closer to you then, he hasn’t seen her yet, nestled in her little car seat on the cart, you’re panicking.
“Do you even remember me? Oh my god, that night my phone broke, and I had just got it, they couldn’t transfer the numbers! And I tried to look you up? But I couldn’t find you… and I never saw you… and then- fuck I’m rambling.” He laughs nervously, swiping his hand through his snowy locks. “Forgive me, please… what I mean to say is… Hi?”
“Hi…” Your baby whines then, and Satoru pauses, blinking and you move to the side then, he steps closer when Reign opens her eyes, grinning at him.
Satoru’s heart pounds in his chest, his entire world tilts on its axis, he was already so thrown off by seeing you again, the girl he hasn’t been able to stop thinking of, but now… he looks at you in shock, you look exhausted, but so beautiful, your eyes tear up then, he watches your shoulders slump, then he looks back at the baby, realization sinking in.
“She’s… is she… there’s no way…”
“She’s yours, I only hooked up with you for the past… year.” You manage to say softly, right in the middle of the fruit aisle, Satoru was finding out you have his baby.
“You did this alone?” He says then, blinking back emotions for a girl he barely knew, but who now has a part of him, a part he wants to know so badly suddenly, shocking him.
“I had no clue who you were, how to tell you, even if so, it’s not your responsibility okay? I take care of her just fine, I make it work.” Satoru’s heart breaks then, seeing how tired you are, seeing the endless baby items and cheap toilet paper, a cheap bottle of wine, is that all you get yourself?
You did this alone, you have his baby alone, altering your life while he’s living his just the same, partying with his best friends, working and living a luxurious life. Satoru was rich, and it’s clear his baby and his baby’s mother are struggling, and he’s here doing what? Could he have tried harder to find you!? Could he…
“We’re okay, you don’t have to worry. I’d never come for you for anything, I am happy being her mommy.” You say with a tired smile, reaching to touch her little chubby cheek, and Satoru has never seen anything so beautiful, the two of you.
He’s felt so empty for this year, is this what he was missing?
“Can I… please… can I know her?” He asks, gulping now, and you blink in shock, nodding quickly.
“I would love that.” You can’t stop your tears then, sniffling and shaking your head. “Please, let’s talk outside of the produce aisle?” You whisper, he nods quickly, unable to take his eyes off you, off his baby.
Coming sooon- based loosely on a request for @bunheadusa hehe, prob gonna be long I can't help myself.

𝐁𝐚𝐛𝐲’𝐬 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰 (𝐫𝐮𝐞’𝐬 𝐣𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐟𝐢𝐜 1)
𝐃𝐚𝐝!𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐜 𝐱 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫
𝐒𝐲𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐬𝐢𝐬: it’s your little girls first time experiencing snow and charles couldn’t be more excited to share that with her and with you
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: non super fluffy!!
𝐀/𝐍: HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON!!!! omg i’m so excited for this christmas celebratory little fanfic party time!! i love christmas and what better way to start it off than dad! charles 🥰🥰
🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Lyla Marie Pascale Leclerc was quite honestly the cutest little five month, almost six month old in the whole world, and of course as her mother and father you both weren’t being biased at all.
She was a late summer baby so when the holiday season began to come around Charles couldn’t help but become more excited at the fact that his little angel would be experiencing her first snow. Not to mention her first Christmas and you’ll admit you’d been getting in the spirit and looking forward to it, but Charles, well he took it to another level
“Lyla, regarde maman mon ange…” (lyla, look at mommy my angel)
You stood in front of Lyla, your phone out as she sat in the snow, her hands hitting the ground as she squealed happily
“Are you enjoying the snow baby girl?”
Honestly her squeals could cure anyone’s sadness, especially as she looked up at her father, Charles melting as she reached up at him
“Is it cold? You ready for papa to carry you around again?”
“She noticed you weren’t busy enough, you’re back to carrying duties my love”
Charles smiled, picking her up off the ground before coming over to you so he could place a kiss to your lips, Lyla whining as you got the attention she wanted
“Oh was maman stealing papa’s kisses? I’m sorry little love” you cooed softly kissing her forehead, effectively returning the smile to her face, that only amplified as Charles pressed kisses around her face
“Maman is all left out now..”
At the sound of the slight drop in your voice, your little girl looked at you her lips forming into a pout before she reached for you, your eyes softening as you took her and kissed her cheek
“Aw je t’aime tellement mon petit amour, merci bébé” (aw i love you so much my little love, thank you baby )
Charles was more than happy to watch the two of you cuddle up together, there was nothing more he loved than spending time with his girls, and now having the winter break, he had all the time in the world to spend with you two before heading back to pre season testing in February.
While you continued walking throughout the park, Charles picked up some snow and molded it into a snowball, bringing it over and holding it out to Lyla, causing more happy squeals to come from her
“This is a snowball princess…you throw it anywhere you want, here try it”
The little girl looked at her father as she took the snowball, obvious confusion in her eyes before she threw it, the best a five month old can, landing straight on Charles’s chest, his mouth dropping in faux shock
“Well done my love!! You got papa!” you laughed, causing Lyla to follow through, her laughs only getting louder when Charles dramatically fell to ground, snow continuing to fall around him
After a few seconds of squirming you put Lyla down and let her crawl over to her dad, letting her climb onto him and hit his chest, babbling softly until he grabbed her gently and lifted her into the air, more laughter spilling around him as you joined them in the snow.
The same spot where Charles once made you fall in a snowstorm 5 years ago on this same day, the day that changed your lives forever and brought two perfect people together, and now you had a daughter to share the love with.
The same spot that love once flourished is the same spot that love still grows…even in the snow…

Breaking point (2/2)
SUMMARY: Civilian!Reader, who works as Price's assistant, has a breakdown at work. Soap+Ghost help the best they can. Hurt/comfort. Can be read as platonic or romantic. Gender Neutral Reader.
PAIRINGS: Soap x GN!Reader
Ghost's version (1/2) Soap's part 2. Soap's part 3.
TAGS: Hurt/comfort. Military inaccuracies (I make shit up for the sake of the plot). Soap is tooth-rotting sweet.
WARNINGS: Mention of relative in the hospital, suicide ideation, depressive thoughts, swearing.
WORD COUNT: 4.3k
A/N: Very self-indulgent, Reader is going through it and so am I. 🙃Soap is Prince Fucking Charming (very cliché romance tropes). Yours truly suggest to listen to "Strong For Somebody Else" by Citizen Soldier to set the mood. (Song includes suicide ideation and depressive thoughts too, so listen at your own risk).
This bad good boy gave me a harder time than expected lol.
After ending the call, you put down your phone on your desk in a daze, hand shaking.
The news you’ve just been told cannot be real. Life could not possibly be that cruel. What did I do to deserve this? you wonder helplessly. It’s like every time you get back up, life knocks you down again, sending you tumbling on the cold, hard ground.
Clenching your fists, you stare into space, a thousand thoughts disorderly swirling inside your brain, all bursting with anguish, until a burning tear running down your cheek brings you back to the present. You’re at work, your boss is in the next room; a breakdown is a luxury you cannot afford right now. Better bite your tongue hard enough to draw blood than be caught sobbing.
Inhaling a shaky breath, you take your head between your hands, shoving your fingers into your hair, trying to convince yourself to postpone your nervous collapse. Only one hour left, and you’ll be free to cry your eyes out at your flat. Or on the way home, even. It’s not like the other passengers ever paid you attention the other times you’ve cried on the bus.
But somehow your attempts have the opposite effect, and more tears roll down your face, staining the papers beneath it. As you furiously wipe your face with your sleeve, with a blend of frustration and despair, pissed at yourself, and wanting to get rid of the evidence of your fragile state as fast as possible, the unmistakable sound of your office’s door opening makes you look up.
Of freaking course of all bloody people that could have walked in on you, it had to be Soap fucking Mactavish. Only the most gorgeous man on base - according to you, that is.
You weren't proud of it, but you had a crush on him since you arrived, six months ago. His piercing cerulean eyes, rugged good looks and outgoing personality wouldn’t let you know peace. The mere sight of him was enough to bring a goofy smile to your face, and every conversation between the two of you left you blushing and elated.
You initially thought that this silly, juvenile infatuation would fade away soon enough. Ok, he was beautiful, and he had eyes to damn yourself for, so what? Surely with enough time and exposure, he'd feel mundane. But things didn’t go that way at all.
On top of looking stunning, he just had to be friendly. He made you feel welcome when you arrived. He made efforts to include you in conversations, asking questions to get to know you. He relieved you of the burden of small talk, appeasing your social anxiety, by happily keeping the conversation going on his own, never taking offense when you had nothing to say. He chose to spend some of his free time with you, escorting you back from the archives or dropping by your office.
He was even flirty at times. Flirty. With you.
You could have still disregarded all this; tell yourself he was like this with everyone, that it was just his personality; imagining things would only end up with you hurt in the end.
But then, during a meeting, you witnessed his sincere concern for civilian lives. His righteous anger against unjust orders, when you had fully expected a soldier to obey mindlessly.
This had been your undoing; the moment you knew you were a goner. A severe fondness for him had sunk its claws deep inside your chest and had no intent to let go. It didn’t mean you had any intention to declare your feelings though; you never entertained the thought that he could return them, therefore there was no need for any confession.
For him to be the one to have caught you in this state, it was downright humiliating. Especially since his good heart would make him feel obligated to care.
He was still wearing his leather, fingerless gloves, and some dirt lingered on the contour of his face, like he tossed his weapons and his flak jacket to the side right out of the heli bringing him back to base, and rushed here.
“Hiya hen, brought you the- Shite, what happened?”
His booming voice and cheerful tone fade away as his eyes widen with concern. He briefly freezes at the door in shock before closing the distance to your desk with great strides. You lower your eyes in shame, avoiding his gaze.
“Nothing. Nothing happened. Everything's fine.”
“No offense, bonnie, but yer not very good at lying.”
You bit your lip, forcing yourself to look at him. Staring at your own lap is only going to make you seem more suspicious.
You grit your teeth and lie some more, trying to sound carefree.
“It's nothing, really. I'm just being a crybaby.”
Crybaby.
Soap turns the word over in his mind, unconvinced.
He still remembers that one time when you showed up thirty minutes late to a meeting with the Task Force, panting, leaning on the threshold, the front of your clothes soaked in blood.
“Sorry I’m late,” you started.
“‘Sorry’ isn’t going to cut it,” Price interrupted before laying eyes on you. “Bloody hell, what happened to you?”
You explained how Private what's-his-name bled out in the break room after carelessly reopening his stitches and you had to stop the hemorrhage with your bare hands and a bunch of paper towels while shouting yourself hoarse for help. Yet when Price ordered you to take the rest of the day off, you insisted on going on as usual, forcing their captain to make it clear that it wasn’t a mere suggestion.
You and him had a different definition of “crybaby”.
Clinging to what's familiar, you focus on the stack of papers under his arm.
“You have the latest reports? Give it here.”
You hold out your hand expectantly. Instead of giving them to you, he sets them down on the opposite side of your desk, out of your reach.
“Paperwork can wait.”
You blink in astonishment at him.
“No it cannot…?”
You roll your eyes at his behavior and get up to seize the reports, but he snatches them from you. You can feel your composure snap like a twig.
“Johnny, what the hell?!” you yell, throwing your hands in the air.
You could remember exactly the first time you called him Johnny, only because it had been such an embarrassment. You couldn’t get used to his alias; sure you had been warned beforehand that some of them were… original, but somehow "Soap" was the one that stood out as the most ridiculous. You briefly entertained the idea of using his first name, except that for you “John” already referred to Captain Price. Only once you tried to call him Mr Mactavish, and as a result Gaz and him guffawed so hard they almost fell off their chairs. Even Ghost let out a cough that was most definitely a concealed laugh. You were running out of options until you heard the lieutenant call him Johnny; you instantly liked it. It just… fitted him.
From that moment on you used the nickname, but only in your mind. You didn’t have any of the liberties Ghost had and you wouldn’t take them, out of respect, and shyness. Or at least this had been the plan until you fumbled and called him that to his face. The ensuing silence felt deafening as you were realizing what you’ve just done, and you apologized immediately, mortified.
He just laughed it off; said you could keep calling him that. True, he had appeared more surprised than irritated, but you didn’t want to take the risk of him simply being polite. This too, had been your plan, until he ruined it merily.
Somehow he must have noticed your efforts to not slip up again because he teased you about it.
“Not Johnny today? Did ah dae something wrong?”
You went back to “Johnny” quickly - anything to put an end to the mischievous glint in his eye and the rascally smirk on his lips aimed at you. Being the target of his undivided attention sent a pang in your chest and knots in your stomach. Those sensations weren't exactly unpleasant, but it led to an ominous feeling that this was too good to be true, and that at any second this vision would shatter to reveal the cruel reality; so you'd just grant him a timid smile to confirm he did amuse you, but then proceed to look away.
It's the first time you’re pronouncing “Johnny” with anger; real, raw annoyance, as well as animosity, instead of the fond frustration you usually display when he messes around.
To your utter disbelief, he smiles in response to your outburst.
“There we go, talk tae me. Even if it’s just tae scream at me.”
The remark pacifies you instantly; you lower your arms, defeated.
“I'm not gonna… I don't want to scream at you.”
You sigh and sit back, setting down your elbows on your desk to take your head between your hands, overburdened.
“The hell you want me to tell you? That my mom's on the brink of death out of nowhere? That when she's gone I'll be all alone in this world?”
You swear, aggravated, as tears sting your eyes again, and this time you ignore if you'll be capable of holding back the flood.
Nevertheless you can still hear Soap curse under his breath, Scottish accent growing thicker, before moving to get on your side of the desk, to reach you, dispensing soft-spoken, soothing words along the way. You pivot to face him, your burning eyes and the sensation of dried tears on your face making you painfully aware that you must look as pathetic as you feel.
Your eyes widen in surprise when you see him kneeling at your feet. His hands reach for your face, slowly enough to give you time to back away if you wanted to.
“A'm sorry, ah didnae mean tae mak' ye cry, a'm a bloody eejit. …Can I?”
His fingers stopped a breath away from your tear-stained cheeks.
At that exact moment you can’t quite believe what he's about to do, yet you nod your head in agreement - not trusting your voice to not break - all the same, the gaping void in your chest aching for any kind of contact he'd be willing to provide.
His warm fingers cup your cheeks as the pad of his thumbs gently, almost reverently, wipe the underside of your eyes.
“There we go,” he cajoles, meticulously drying any wet spot on your skin.
“A'm ‘ere whether ye want tae talk or not, aye? A'm not going anywhere.”
You stare at him in silence, thunderstruck by the scene unfolding in front of you. Never in your wildest dreams you would have expected to have this man at your feet. He sets his hands down on your knees, squeezing them softly, and is looking right at you, encouraging smile and tender gaze, reassurance radiating from his expression. The position allows you to greedily take in every little detail: the white line of the scar on his chin, the breathtaking shades of blue in his eyes, the gap in his left eyebrow.
As you lose yourself into the work of art that are his features, he keeps conversing.
“We should take yer mind aff things. We could play board games in tha rec room. Or ye could let aff some steam wi’ tha punching bag in tha training room! Ah could teach ye how tae shoot on tha shooting range-”
You open your eyes wide as his suggestions turn progressively more violent.
“I have a bus to catch, and that's overlooking the fact that I haven't done anything in my last hour of work today…”
“If anyone gives you trouble, just say ah forced you.”
You chuckle at the idea.
“You'd never compel me to do anything.”
You can’t repress a loving smile. Johnny just feels that safe to you.
He smirks mischievously at that.
“Na, but they'll believe ah dragged ye intae mah evil schemes.”
He punctuates his statement by a roguish wink that wrests a laughter from you.
“You should take my bed,” he declares suddenly, serious again.
As the silence between you two stretches and your smile is replaced by a mix of shock, confusion, and worry, he realizes how this may sound. Flustered, he starts rambling to defuse the situation.
“Wait, no- steamin’ jesus - Ah didnae mean it like that! I’d take the couch in the rec room, ‘f course. Ye shouldn't go through tonight alone.”
“Oh my god, Johnny, I could never take your bed from you. You must already sleep on the floor so often for missions…”
“Exactly, hen. This is nothing for me. The couch is a hotel compared to that.”
You open your mouth to argue more, but then he makes an expression that can only be described as sad puppy eyes, even going as far as slightly tilting his head to the side to perfect the impression. You gulp in response, stricken straight through the heart, and knowing pertinently that you could already hardly refuse him anything, so if he begins to gaze at you like that…
“Pretty please?”
Oh no. Not that line.
He's now excessively batting his eyelashes at you, which, while not exactly alluring, is both comical and endearing. Hell, who are you even kidding? You’re so smitten with this blue-eyed creature, is there any act from him you wouldn’t find endearing?
“Are you… pouting?”
“Depends. Is it working?”
You sigh, aware it's a losing battle, and look away, a futile attempt to hide the ridiculously potent effect he has on you, or to at least shield yourself from his influence, if only momentarily.
“I think you know the answer to that.”
“Maybe ah just wantae hear ye say aye tae me.”
Your cheeks catch fire at the suggestiveness of the words. As if the regular rasp of his voice, that felt like an exquisite caress along your spine, wasn’t already making it incredibly difficult to keep your face at a reasonnable temperature.
“You're gonna get me fired, Johnny.”
“Over my dead body,” he retorted with surprising determination, solemnly pressing a hand over his heart.
You scoff indulgently. Coming from anyone else, the hastily taken oath would be preposterous, but Soap has always proved himself trustworthy.
“Let's go. Your knees must be sore,” you mumble, trying to sound casual.
“Wanna make a joke aboot mah stamina when kneeling but ah will keep it fur next time,” he slips as he stands up, way too smugly for your own good, so you pretend you didn’t hear anything. As if you needed any more incitement into picturing him on his knees in a different context.
You get up quickly after, but he does not get out of your way. You rise a quizzical eyebrow, his close proximity triggering alarm bells inside your head. If he remains near enough for you to feel his body heat, you’re going to get dizzy.
He simply grins.
“Want a hug?”
You blink at the unexpected question. Yes, implores your touchstarved mind. YES, cries out your sensitive, enamored heart.
No way, rebuffs your cautious brain. It will only hurt more knowing what you can’t have.
He opens his muscled arms, smile genuine, almost blinding, like a tacit invitation, and all your reluctance seems to evaporate with that simple gesture. Before you can linger any more on the harmful consequences this lack of restraint will eventually cause, you throw yourself into his embrace. It feels like falling and flying all at once.
Your hands close on the back of his shirt, near his shoulder blades, and, pressing your face into his shoulder to make the world disappear for a moment, you cling to him like he could rescue you from the sinking ship that was your sick mind. One of his arms close around your waist while his free hand rubs your back, leaving trails of fire in its wake, but bringing you much-appreciated comfort nonetheless.
“You're too nice to me. I feel like I'm taking advantage of your kindness.”
He remains silent a drawn-out second, and you're terrified you just screwed everything up.
“Yer givin me too much credit, lass “ he finally says. “Ah don't go ‘round base comforting every person I find.”
His tone isn’t angry, per se, but it lacks its previous joviality.
Soap tilts his head back, biting his lips, thanking the universe that with your face laying against his chest, you can’t perceive his embarrassment.
He can’t tell you. Not yet. Not now.
He can’t tell you that he used to consider writing reports as the worst part of the job until you came along; until you awarded him a heartfelt, radiant smile when he gave you his; that he noticed how little you smiled outside of artificial ones you fabricate for work purposes; that when he manages to make you smile or laugh genuinely, it feels like a prize, that only he is privy to.
Months ago, he took the resolve to make you smile more; for a while now he started doing his reports more seriously, or even did the ones of Gaz and Ghost, just to have an excuse to see you, to behold the way your face lightens up when he brings you necessary paperwork before you even demand it.
And he certainly can’t tell you about that one time where he handed over his reports in advance, but you weren't there, so he left, heart heavy with disappointment, dragging his feet, until he heard your voice coming from the room he just left.
“What are those?” you questionned your coworker.
“Soap just dropped them.”
“But… I didn't even ask him to yet?”
Perplexity combines with glee in your voice.
“He's a good boy, isn’t he?” prompted your colleague.
You let out a fond, wistful sigh, before responding, half-joking.
“I know! Such a good boy for me.”
Getting to hear you beaming over his benevolent action was already a treat, but witnessing that compromising exchange? To be called a “good boy” by you short-circuited him. He swore - “Steamin jesus” -, ears burning, face on fire, covering it with one hand. He needed to leave badly. Seek refuge in his room, where he could be free to replay that tantalizing line on loop in his mind. “Such a good boy for me.”
Your heart beats a bit faster than usual as you obediently follow Soap through corridors you’ve never been in before. You trust him with all your heart, but that doesn't change the fact that what you’re doing is against the rules; and those rules aren't high school's, but the ones of a military base.
You flinch hard as a familiar voice screams in your direction.
“SERGEANT MACTAVISH!”
Oops, you think. That's Captain Price, your supervisor, and he sounds pissed. You never witnessed him calling Soap by his last name before, but that being said, you never saw him deal with a kidnapped assistant either.
You've been caught red-handed.
Your mind begins to come up with plans to lessen the punishments that are without doubt about to descend upon you two, but Johnny grabbing your hand brings you back to reality.
You lift your gaze to him. He doesn't seem worried at all, if anything… is that a spark of delight in his eye?
He only pronounces one word.
“Run.”
So you run, carried away half by adrenaline, and half by the sergeant dragging you. Thankfully Soap is aware that there's no way you can keep up with him and his training, so he comes to a halt a minute later.
Panting hard, you double over, hands clenching your knees for support, heart thumping in your chest, blood throbbing in your ears.
“Why… are we… running…!?” you manage to exhale. “It's only… gonna make… things worse…”
By your side, he's standing fresh as a daisy, barely ruffled by your flight. The sight would be infuriating if his eyes weren't glinting with amusement and he wasn’t offering you a dazzling smile.
“Because it's fun,” he affirms like it's evident.
Little by little, you catch your breath, throwing Johnny a look that's half in earnest, half in jest.
“More fun for you than for me.”
He doesn't get flustered by your moderate reprimand.
“Is it selfish o' me tae wantae spend more time wi' ye? Didnae want us tae git interrupted yet.”
The line feels like a punch to the chest, stealing the breath you just recovered and leaving you agape.
He takes your hand again with the natural of a well earned habit.
“C'm'on, ah have more than one trick up mah sleeve.”
You're unsure which of the views unfurling under your eyes is the most magnificent; the sunset in front of you that's painting the sky in shades of pink and orange, or the striking man by your side whose eyes could rival the most astounding sights.
Nibbling on the dinner Soap smuggled out of the cafeteria with too much ease for it to be his first time, you regularly sneak glances at him as he fills the silence with tales of his adventures - the parts that aren't top secret, at least. You two totally did not break onto the roof moments ago, no sir.
Goosebumps travel along your arms and any exposed skin as the night falls and the sun takes away the warmth with him. You furiously brush the outside of your arms for heat, and you're about to suggest finishing this inside, when a jacket lands on your shoulders.
It is still warm with his owner's bodyheat, deliciously so. You curl up and drag it closer, your face on fire. Realizing that Soap gave you his jacket without you even having to ask or complain about the cold… you’re conflicted between obsessing over this like a giggling schoolgirl, and feeling apologetic.
Once you more or less got your blushing under control, you turn to him, displaying a contrite expression.
“I don't want to take your jacket on top of your bed, Johnny.” you pout.
“A'm a bloody furnace. Wanna check?”
He asks, cheekily, even adding a wink for good measure. As if there was any more artifice needed to make you putty in his hands.
He presents you his bare arm for the taking, all golden skin, bulging muscles and a constellation of white scars.
You indulge him and lay a hand on his bicep, knowing he won't relent otherwise; that is definitly the only reason; it has absolutely nothing to do with your own desires.
Indeed, he's burning. As you envy and bask in the heat provided by his body, forgetting that your touch is lingering too long for someone who is just a coworker, he chooses that moment to flex shamelessly, showing off the impressive circumference of his muscle. You feel obligated to squeeze it in response, a way to finally meet him head-on instead of passively enduring his quips, and it feels like reinforced concrete under your fingers.
You fail to hold back your laughter at his facetious demeanor.
“You're ridiculous.”
The comment holds no bite, a smile brimming with tenderness stretching your lips.
“I'll be the most ridiculous man on the planet if it makes you laugh.”
He's leaning back, hands propped on the ground behind him, head slightly tilted to gaze at you, and the earnestness on his face could almost make you believe his words.
Almost.
But instead a sharp pang pierces your chest, right between your lungs, at heart's level. The smile you return him in spite of yourself oscillates between content and heartbroken, before opting for the latter.
Tomorrow you will ask him, maybe even plead; tomorrow you'll ask him to put an end to the flirting. You cannot bear it.
But just tonight, you'll indulge it. You'll pretend to be normal, a well-adjusted human being, instead of a broken shell; you'll act like an adult for who flirting is a regular event and not the mental equivalent of a nuclear bomb.
You abruptly stand up, dusting yourself off, purposely ignoring the newfound lack of understanding on Soap's face and how his mouth opened for a question.
“It's getting late,” you state, not nearly as casually as you'd like. “I'm beat!”
You're running away and you know it; but you never claimed to be brave. Really, it is the best solution for everyone involved, or at least it's how it has always seemed to be your whole life.
He escorts you to his room - of course he does. Even if he already picked up his things earlier to crash on the couch, already showed the place to you.
As you awkwardly face him on the doorstep after saying your goodbyes and your thanks, unable to look away yet incapable of making eye contact, pain flares in your torso thinking of him, somehow intertwined with joy and gratefulness for his existence. Maybe your inner struggle shows on your face because next thing you know, he cups your cheek, forcing you to look up, but as the deranged idea that he's about to kiss you manifests in a remote corner of your mind, your brain swiftly shuts off as his lips make contact with your forehead.
The touch is light yet your entire being seems gathered on that point of contact.
“G'night, bonnie,” he half-whispers, as if to make sure his words exist only for you.
He grants you one last smile, small but so sweet you feel your heart tightens.
“Good night, Johnny,” you manage to articulate before sheltering in his bedroom. The room smells like him.
The moment the door shuts behind you, you rest against it, tilting your head back, letting out a deep sigh. Morbid curiosity pushes you to glance in the adjacent bathroom's mirror, if only to see what you look after this evening. A flustered mess? A sorrowful wreck?
Catching your reflection's eye makes you grimace as you realize an incriminating detail.
You forgot to give Soap his jacket back.

taking requests, angel? if so...
I saw some Kathryn gifs and an idea came to me: Agatha, after a long and exhausted working week, asks female reader to have a date, but the date is on their house because Agatha is too tired to go out. Reader is happy, tho, because her love language is quality time and physical contact. Something like a dinner, maybe, idk... so they end up having a very lovely time together, cuddling on the sofa until they fall asleep. Smut or not in the end, it's up to you... but I'd love to read something cute from you:( I don't know if that's okay...
if you're not taking requests, I totally understand that! I don't want to bother you.
- 🌙
Fun fact, this is my first time writing something that's not meant to build up to sexy times! Also the fluffiest thing I've ever written so hopefully it's good!
Home is where the heart is
A change of plans in your date night with Agatha leads to a confession.
Word count: 1200
Warnings: fluff, softness
Still on for dinner and a movie tonight?
It’s the text you sent your girlfriend, Agatha, an hour ago and she still hasn’t responded. This usually isn’t like her, but you know how busy work can get. And you know how tough the last week had been on her, but you were really looking forward to spending this Friday night with her.
The two of you had been dating for three months now and it always seemed like the older woman wanted to do something, whether it be going to a nice restaurant or mini-golfing or painting pottery. Like tonight, Agatha is supposed to take you to the newest spot in town that just opened up and then you were going to see Corpse Bride as it was playing again in theaters.
You would never complain about any of this, but you’re a little worried that Agatha thinks that you need all of this to hang out with her.
A text from Agatha buzzes finally. Doll, I’m so sorry. You frown and pick your phone up, afraid she’s going to cancel. I’m so exhausted from work, how would you feel just coming over tonight for something chill? I can order pizza.
You breathe a sigh of relief and type back. I would love that! See you later. You almost finish the text with a ‘Love you’ but neither of you had said it yet and you were sure as hell not going to say it over the phone for the first time.
You also weren’t sure how Agatha felt. She was older and you weren’t exactly sure what she saw in you. She was beautiful and confident and wealthy and could have anyone she wanted, and yet she chose you.
A part of you deep down is perturbed that this is just a fling for her. It would crush you if that’s what it was.
But you bury that insecurity somewhere dark inside you and you get ready for date night.
Since you’re not doing anything special, you opt for a comfy purple sweater and black leggings. You do put on lacy underwear just in case Agatha’s in the mood, but you are totally content if not.
You just want to spend time with your girlfriend.
You get to her house right at six, which was when you were supposed to meet anyway, and you only have to wait a second after ringing the doorbell for Agatha to appear.
“Hey, baby,” she says, stepping to the side so you can enter. She’s wearing sweatpants and a tank top, hair loose, but she’s never looked more beautiful. You press a cheek to her kiss and she hums happily and follows you into the kitchen. “Sorry to cancel our plans at the last minute, I’m just so tired.”
“No worries at all,” you reassure her, opening the pizza box that’s already on the counter. It’s your favorite kind and you put two pieces on a plate and grab a beer. She does the same and leads you over to the couch where you sit on opposite sides facing each other. “Everything okay?” You ask once you’re both settled.
She sighs dramatically and her head flops back against the couch. You laugh and nudge her with your foot.
Agatha looks back at you, mirth sparkling in her eyes. “It was just a rough week, hon. Lots of people bothering me, asking stupid questions they should know the answers to, following up on emails that they haven’t responded to. And I had to work late those couple nights.”
You frown. “I’m sorry. You work so hard and no one seems to give you the credit you deserve.” You take a bite of your pizza and chew it thoughtfully, wondering what else you can say. You know she’s been really busy and you’ve hardly seen her at all this week.
But she leans forward and pats your thigh. “But this has certainly helped.”
You raise an eyebrow. “The pizza and beer?” You ask innocently, fishing for more. She rolls her eyes fondly, knowing how much validation you like.
“And the company, hon. You’re pretty great, you know?”
You smile and squirm with contentment. “You are too, Aggie. I’m always happy to just sit on your couch and talk. I just want to spend time with you, no matter what we’re doing.”
She smiles gratefully. “Me too, baby. Now, how has your week been?” You launch into an animated retelling of something that happened at work and she hangs onto every word. It takes you a bit longer to tell the story in-between bites of your pizza, but her attention never wavers.
It makes you feel so warm inside how Agatha always pays attention to what you’re saying. She makes you feel so seen and you couldn’t be more lucky to have her.
Once you’re done talking and with the pizza, she puts on an episode of Modern Family, your comfort show. You lay between her legs, your back to her front, while she gently strokes your hair. You trace lazy circles on her thighs through her sweatpants and it’s absolutely perfect.
She tilts your head to the side and angles hers so she’s able to kiss you softly. It’s just a press of her lips against yours at first, but it slowly becomes more and your mouth parts for her tongue.
It’s not a needy kiss though, not a kiss meant to lead to something more, it’s a kiss full of adoration and longing and intimacy.
“You’re so perfect, baby,” Agatha murmurs against your lips.
“Not as perfect as you,” you say back and you can feel her smile against your skin.
She lets you go back to the show and wraps her arms around you. You can feel her deep breathing and you feel so safe and warm that you start to doze off.
Right before sleep takes you though, you feel her nuzzle your temple and whisper into your ear: “I love you, baby.”
Your heart leaps and you suddenly feel more awake than ever. You whirl around so fast that you almost fall off the couch. Agatha’s eyes are wide and you think you see fear in them.
“Did you just–” You start.
At the same time, Agatha says, “I’m so sorry–”
You both cut off at the same time. You smile wider than you ever have before and you move so you’re straddling her lap. You put your arms around her neck and rest your forehead against hers.
“Agatha Harkness,” you say. Her eyebrows raise. “I love you, too.”
She closes the distance between you and kisses you again, this time with more passion. You whine and try to pull her as close as you can, needing to feel her body against yours as much as you can.
“Say it again,” she says and you smirk.
“I-” You kiss her. “Love.” Another kiss. “You.” She grins and gives you a long kiss and it eventually sizzles out and the two of you are just holding each other, your chin on top of her shoulder.
“I’m so glad I cancelled our other date,” Agatha muses and you chuckle, squeezing her tighter. “Stay here with me forever, love?”
You promise that you will.
And when you both wake up in the morning in that same position, she tells you that she loves you again.
You hope she never stops saying it, because you know that you never will.

The well deserved and highly anticipated group-vacation of one week was finally here. This time, Wooyoung and the other members had decided to spend the time in a somewhat secluded spot near the mountains. Hongjoong and Seonghwa had planned a surprise for Wooyoung, especially since he hadn't had much time to be around his family.
You and Nabi, your and Wooyoung's three years old daughter, were waiting on the porch of the vacation home for the boys to arrive. When Nabi heard the laughter of her father, she couldn't contain her joy and jumped off the porch to run towards the men, giggling happily and calling for her daddy.
“Nabi! What are you doing here, my little butterfly?” Wooyoung asked when picking her up, a bright smile on his lips, looking around. “Eomma and I waited for appa! You bring all the samchons too!” She squeals with joy, already leaning towards her favorite uncle who quickly picked her out of Wooyoung´s arms. It didn't take long for Wooyoung to spot you on the porch, his gaze softening as he hurried over to you to help you up. “Careful, Jagi,” He hummed, pulling you into a gentle hug, making sure to not accidentally push too hard against your belly while doing so. “Please tell me that you didn't come here all alone with Nabi. You were careful and had someone help, right?”
“Wooyoung, baby. I am pregnant, not sick.” You chuckled, cupping his cheek before placing a kiss to his lips. He couldn't hide a little laugh, but then got cut by a loud squeak coming from your daughter. Both of you were quick to turn around, already panicked, but when you see Yunho holding Nabi and twirling around with her, you let out a relieved sigh. Wooyoung however was not as relaxed at this sight.
“Yah, Yunho hyung! Be careful with her!” He shouted and with a roll of his eyes, Yunho let San take her from him. Nabi´s arms immediately wrapped around her favorite uncle´s arms, giggling and kicking her little feet, which sent one of her slippers flying right against the back of Hongjoong´s head. Wooyoung´s cackle startled you a bit, it is quite loud right next to your ear, yet you soon join in when you see the expression on Hongjoong's face, who seems to be indecisive between being angry or amused. Your daughter quickly hid her face behind her hands, giggling with joy.
She's probably one of the most spoiled children in Korea, especially with Wooyoung as her dad and seven wonderful uncles, who would give her the world. Shaking his head, Wooyoung wrapped his arm around you to lead you over to the porch to sit down again, handling you with such love and care, as if he fears you could break in his hands. Admittedly, handling a three year old while being six months pregnant is a whole lot of work, but Wooyoung´s family always supported you and helped you wherever they could.
“How are you, jagi? Has Nabi been very difficult?” Wooyoung asked quietly, sitting next to you to watch your daughter playing with the other members. Nabi´s giggles and happy squeaks reach your ears and you lean your head on his shoulder, his hand gently resting on your belly. “After this vacation, I´ll be home more, I promise.” And you knew that he meant this. Wooyoung always made sure to spend any free minute with you and Nabi, and if it was to just play with her, so you could rest. “Don´t worry, Woo. Nabi is not as bad as dealing with you, you know?” You chuckled, kissing him before he could protest.
“Eomma! Appa! Look, Joonie samchon made me a music again!” Your daughter squeaked as she came running to you and your husband, waving around her ipod that the guys gave her once and which Hongjoong constantly filled with new music for her; of course all of it child friendly and approved by you and Wooyoung. “And Jongi samchon singed!” “I can sing for you too, Nabi,” Mingi then laughed, but a pout replaced his smile when your daughter shook her head, her black locks swinging around. “Noo! Min samchon sounds scary when he makes his speakmusic.”
Her words let all the others burst out in laughter, even Mingi soon joined in. Yes, his rap probably can sound a bit scary for a child. “But he also can sing prettily, little butterfly.” Yunho chuckled, ruffling her hair with a happy smile while looking at you to check if you agree with it. “I´ll show you his music that's not scary, okay?”
When Nabi nodded and then as she ran around on the gravelly path towards the house, she tripped and fell, staying in that position for a moment as if waiting for something, but before anyone could say anything, your daughter gets up, brushes the dirt off her legs and then smiles at San. “Look Sanie samchon! No ouchies. I'm a fighter like you!” She giggled, lifting her hands to show that she's not hurt, causing you to let out a breath of relief. In the beginning when she was even younger, Wooyoung would have jumped up and checked on her at the slightest bump, but by now, both of you were a little more relaxed in this.
“A fighter? I thought you're a princess, little sunshine?” Seonghwa chuckled, to which Nabi put her fists on her waist, pouting a little. “Princesses can fight too! Sanie samchon says that!” Your daughter spends so much time with all of the boys when they have time, she's been raised to be a very independent, yet loving and strong girl. “Ah, that's true. I forgot that. Did you know your Mingi samchon is a princess too?” The oldest of the boys asked with a grin, making your daughter giggle and run over to you, where she gets her princess crown out of her little bag so she could hand it to Mingi to put on.
“Yah, no one's allowed to look cuter or prettier than Nabi or y/n!” With a laugh, Wooyoung wrapped an arm around you, kissing your cheek gently, he's just relieved to be able to spend the next week with you, their daughter and his friends. Wooyoung loves you and wants to show you that, and unbeknownst to you, he's cleared at least two weeks around your due date in three months, just so he won't be missing the birth of your second baby. “Now let's unpack and then enjoy our vacation, alright? And don't you all dare to bother my pregnant wife to cook or anything!” He added, glaring at his members, who just rolled their eyes at these words. None of them were ever a bother for you, they usually just take over your tasks, so you could rest, which they do throughout this whole vacation as well.
After Wooyoung and you had unpacked your things, Nabi had been with San the whole time, you all meet in the living area of the vacation home, where you see your three year old argue with Mingi about what you all will do first. He wants to visit the hot springs, Nabi however would like to go to the little zoo she saw on the way here. The final decision would be made by a game of rock paper scissors, which Mingi won, but your daughter truly had all the boys wrapped around her little finger. With a pout and some tears, the child quickly changed Mingi´s mind, which caused the other boys to laugh.
An hour later, the ten of you were walking down a small path, cherry blossoms around you and the sounds of various animals surrounding you all. Your daughter was switching between the other members to hold their hands while walking, your own hand constantly in the soft hold of Wooyoung's hand, fingers entwined. The giggles of your daughter only bring smiles to your faces, a chuckle escaping you, when Nabi drags Jongho after her to show him the red pandas in their enclosure. “Be careful, Nabi! Make sure to watch over Jongho, yes?” You called after her with a little laugh, amused by her enthusiasm, while walking over to a bench to sit down for a bit. “Hey, are you feeling well, y/n?” Seonghwa asked, when he followed you and Wooyoung to the bench, a small frown on his face in concern. “Yes, don´t worry please. I just didn't sleep a lot last night. A little rascal wanted to cuddle with me and snored a lot.” You chuckled, leaning back against the backrest and stretched your legs.
Seonghwa just nodded and then went with Hongjoong to find something to purchase some bottles of water and some snacks, since you all forgot to get them before coming here. Wooyoung and you kept watching your daughter with Jongho, Yeosang, San, Mingi and Yunho, a content smile on your faces. Nabi is really just a mini copy of your husband Wooyoung, even their laughter is similar, but hers is more adorable and giggly than his.
The day at the zoo kept being eventful and eventually, Nabi fell asleep being rocked in San´s arms while he carried her back to the car. Since you all ate dinner there, you decided to let her sleep on the way back to the vacation home, where San put Nabi to bed and you and Wooyoung cuddled up on the sofa, where both of you fell asleep soon as well. The others decided to not disturb the two of you and since the sofa was big enough to be comfortable, they placed a blanket over you before then heading to their own rooms, all of them too exhausted to do anything before going to bed as well.

Best friend!Lee Know x Afab!Reader
Genre: Friends to lovers?? Angst?? Fluff??
Summary: Mysterious letters from a stranger made you fall in love despite your best friends apprehensions. You think back to every moment that's led to you meeting your secret admirer but the memories do little to prepare you for the mystery you're about to uncover.
Word Count: 2.4k A/N: This is a repost because I just kinda... wanted to repost it? Idk. I don't think that it did as well as it could the first time so here we go againnnnnn!
❋ Italicized parts are flashbacks
❋ This One shot was inspired by the song i love you by Billie Eilish
✧ Masterlist ✧
Six months of mystery has led you to this moment. You started getting letters from a stranger, dainty decorated notes with cursive words declaring their undying admiration for you and all that you are. You’ve never been the type of person who’s felt seen by those around you, you’ve grown content with floating in the background and only being heard when someone chooses to unmute you. Maybe that’s why these letters felt like a thunderbolt hitting uncharted territory. Maybe that’s why each word that you read when you plucked the baby blue stationary from your mailbox made you feel dizzy as you burned with the desire of a thousand suns.
“You don’t even know who’s sending these letters. What if it’s some creep?” Your best friend, Minho, grumbled on the other line as he struggled to give his stubborn cat her medicine.
“No creep could ever write the things I’ve read. He’s emotional and profound and - and he’s…” Your mind wanders off into a daydream as you think of all that he could be.
“A stranger, he’s a stranger. Listen, I’m all for fairy tales but I don’t want you getting hurt. Just let me take you if you decide to meet the guy.” You huff, he’s right he is a stranger and you shouldn’t meet with this guy alone. “I’ll hide behind a tree or something.”
You giggle at the thought but agree happily. “If that’ll make you happy then sure. I’ll let you know when he can meet me.”
“Thank you.” A comfortable silence settles on the line before Minho speaks again. “Wait, how do you know that he’ll want to meet up? He doesn’t put a return address, you can’t send him anything back.”
“He’ll want to meet, I just know it.” You stare up at the ceiling with stars in your eyes and butterflies in your stomach. Minho scoffs on the other line.
“You’re so hopelessly romantic that it’s sickening.”
You sat knee to knee with Minho on the Subway, three more stops and you’d be there. Three more stops and your prince charming would be sitting and waiting for you by Gapstow Bridge. You’ve been to Central Park dozens of times since you’ve moved to the city but nothing could ever top this. You watched as people piled on and off of the subway car, eyes glued to their phones and headphones blasting music or some mystery podcast that would keep them up all night but you couldn’t bring yourself to listen to anything other than the hammering of your heart in your chest, what if his is beating at the same rhythm?
“You really don’t have to go with me. I’m a big girl. You have to go all the way back to Korea the day after, you should be packing and resting and spending time with the cats and -” Minho nudged your shoulder as he glared at you with narrow feline eyes. He looked annoyed but you could tell that he was amused.
“I want to take you, let me see Central Park one more time before I have to leave for half a year.” a weak chuckle escapes you but it quickly drags off into a despondent sigh.
“I don’t want to go either, trust me, but I’ll be back before you know it. We’ll video call in the middle of the night and early morning and we’ll use our friendship lamps and you can send me a million pictures of Central Park in the winter. I know how much you love Gapstow Bridge.”
“It’s beautiful when it’s covered in snow, really. You have to see it in person, there’s nothing else like it.” You force a smile onto your lips but Minho doesn’t have to pretend. His smile is genuine, it’s just the effect that you have.
“Promise to spam my phone?” He holds out his pinky, his boba eyes upturned at the corners. You can’t help but to smile back, your doe eyes turning into shining moons that no lunar eclipse could rival.
“Promise.”
You turn to look out of the window as the train turns the last bend to your stop. You gasp, a smile spreading over your lips and a plum colored blush adorning your chilled cheeks.
“Min! Min, it’s snowing. It’s sticking, look!” You tap your best friend, he’s been fiddling with his fingers the entire ride. His usual jokes have been nonexistent this evening, maybe he’s nervous for you. He seemed so worried after all. “I get to spend the first snow with you!”
You smile over at him, eyes wide like Venus or maybe the moons of Saturn would be a better comparison. No matter the celestial object they could never compare to the shine of your hazel orbs. They are mere specks found in the never ending galaxy of your irises.
“Maybe this is a sign of good luck.” He grins as his eyes scan the scenery. “Maybe you can make a wish on a snowflake tonight.”
“Look who’s being a hopeless romantic now.” You stick your tongue out at him, squinting your eyes and shaking your head playfully. He huffs a laugh with the crooked smile that he’s known for as he watches you. “Oh! This is us, let's go!”
You grab his hand and pull him out of his seat as you race towards the sliding subway doors. You race up the subway steps, your agile friend trailing behind you quickly with a tight grip on your hand. Once you make it to the top you stop and stare. A thin layer of icy white covers the street and sidewalks. You watch with wide eyes as the slush settles onto the tree branches and falls around you like feathers during a pillow fight. Soft, pretty, comfortable.
“Are you sure that you want to do this? He could be a creep, ya know.” Minho has asked the same question about fifteen times since the two of you started walking to the train station and your answer has been the same every. Single. Time.
“I’m positive and if he is, which I doubt that he will be, you’ll be there to do a quick one two jab and save me.” An eye roll and a sigh are all that he offers you as the two of you make your way down the steps to the station.
“Just… prepare yourself okay? You really don’t know what you’re walking into and I don’t want you to walk out of there with a broken heart.”
“I’ll be fine. I’m a big girl, remember?” You take the lead, heading for the turnstile and swiping your MetroCard. You walk through just as you hear the train pull up and turn to Minho with wide eyes of excitement, your heart is still full, he can’t let that be taken away by someone no matter how infatuated you are with them. “It’s here, come on! Run!”
You run up the metal stairs, the heels of your boots making a song out of each step and Minho follows right behind you, jumping the turnstile and running quickly as he ignores the staff yelling for him to pay. He’s sure that he’ll pay soon, he’ll pay in a currency greater than any atom in his body can handle.
“There! He said to meet him on the bridge.” You jog towards the attraction that’s always held a special place in your heart. The stunning aged stone and the shining water underneath it made for a beautiful scene. “I don’t see anyone yet though.”
You walk up the slope of the bridge, squinting into the evening darkness. The sun set two hours ago but the lights of the surrounding buildings make up for the stars absence. Despite the orange of the surrounding lights, the air is cold. Your presence is all that makes the atmosphere feel warm. Comfortable.
“Maybe we should just -” You turn to Minho, your fingers laced together across your chest. Your black gloves that are slightly too big slipping up your wrist.
“He’ll be here. He wouldn’t let me down.” Minho sighs, looking over towards the small lake with crisp leaves flowing with each careful ripple that the wind creates. Maybe that’s how this will go, it’ll be smooth like he’s guided by the wind. Certainly he won't shatter the universe in your eyes.
“Y/n.” It was barely a whisper but you heard him. You’re on your toes looking in the other direction when he calls your name but you snap your neck to look up at him. That sparkle in your eyes is so bright. “I’m so sorry.”
“What do you mean?” He can see it, a star dying in real time. What kind of monster would do this?
“When I- It wasn’t supposed to go this way.” The tear that trails down Minho’s cheek is nearly turned to crystal by the cold bite of the winter air. It blows his parted hair as he stares down at you. You’re putting it all together. The stars dimming at a pace that would leave NASA baffled, confused, anxious.
“Minho, stop messing with me.” You smile and for a second he thinks that he can see them come back. For a second he can spot Orion and the big dipper seems to take one last breath but when he looks away, when he squeezes his eyes shut and chokes back a sob, that’s when the lights go out.
Minho’s never seen a shooting star, he’s never seen light fall at such an alarming rate that we call it beautiful and now he wishes that he never had. He hates that the one time that he got to wish upon a falling star was when he broke your heart.
“When I started sending them I thought that I had more time, I thought that we…”
“It was you?” A tear trails down your cheek as you whisper, your once sparkling eyes are clouded with frost as the snowflakes catch and melt on your lashes. “You knew about every letter, I read them to you, I told you everything but you already knew because you - you wrote them.”
“I had to tell you. I had to tell you how I felt I couldn’t take it anymore; it was eating me alive. It was killing me.” He turns to you, tear stains on both of his blushed cheeks. His eyes are glazed with worry, panic, and so much love. They’re packed with so much adoration that you wonder how you ever missed it in the first place. “Not being with you was killing me. I just - just wanted to tell you and then I got that damned call. If I would've known that I'd get called back to Korea I wouldn't have done this.”
“How long have you known?” You cross your arms, staring at his chest rather than his face. “You sent twenty-six letters… which one did you send after you found out that you had to leave?”
“Please.”
“Which one?” Your voice is weak, hoarse with sentiment as you hold back the hurricane of emotions in your chest.
“Seventeen.”
“Wow.” Your mouth hangs open in a silent cry of disbelief as you turn to look into the distance of the dark park.
“I should’ve told you, I know that. I should’ve stopped and confessed I shouldn’t have done this to you but - but you looked so happy. You were so in love with being seen and I was so proud of you for finally believing that someone sees you. That’s all that I’ve ever wanted” You scoff, laughing a bit as you blink up towards the sky, welcoming the snowflakes onto your skin, offering them a safe place to melt as you come undone in the night.
“Did you have to do it like this?”
“You love Gapstow and I knew it would snow.” You huff, grinning sadly. You turn to face him again, large eyes searching his anxious ones. He can see the wounds that he’s created but of course you make it look beautiful. Of course your wounds bleed constellations, he’d expect nothing less from you.
“You never cry.” It’s his turn to grin now.
“You make me do a lot of things that I said I never would.”
“Like what? Write twenty-six love letters and sneak them into my mailbox?” You chuckle, are your stars coming back?
“Like love. Believe in love enough to give it a chance. Fall in love so hard that I profess my endearment on expensive stationary just so I can see you smile. Even if you didn’t know that you were smiling for me, because of me.”
“Minho…”
“I’m an idiot and I don’t deserve to love you.” His words are rushed as he smiles down at you. They're a sad and pitiful attempt at masking how much he hates himself right now. It's an attempt to hide how much he wishes he could take this all back and call it all a joke just to see you shine like you did a bit ago. “I don’t deserve to have you love me back either.”
“But I do.” Another tear escapes the floodgates behind your eyes and the hurricane in your chest grows stronger. “I do and I have for so long.”
He stares at you with tears falling faster than before, they chase each other down his cheeks and drip off at the edge turning into snowflakes themselves. Maybe he can make a wish on one.
“I don’t want you to love me.” He chokes out as he blinks the tears away.
“It wouldn’t make you leaving hurt any less. I’d just be losing a different version of you.”
“I put every ounce of myself in those letters, as long as you have them you’re never losing me.”
The thread behind your eyes snapped in that moment and it sent your hurricane of emotions free from your chest. You expected for the trees around you to be lifted up into the air. You expected for you and Minho to be whisked away as you twirl like ballerinas in violent gusts of frigid air but it never came. All that visited you were tears as you began sobbing into your hands.
Your oversized glove slipped to your fingertips, holding on desperately just as you were. Minho wasted no time before wrapping you in his arms, you clung to his chest like a sad child on the playground. Whining sobs into his coat as he quietly matched your emotion.
He knew it. He knew he’d pay for this in a way much bigger than him. He knew he’d empty your heart once you found out but he was selfishly in love with you. How could he confess to you like this when he knew he had to leave?
He should’ve stopped at letter Seventeen.

There's no "I" in Team but there are two in Migraine
Bruce had no issue with teamwork, despite what his children and colleagues might think. Teamwork was great. If done properly it was efficient, and it was good to have backup. Competent backup, at least.
Bruce helped found the Justice League. Obviously he was a supporter of teamwork.
However.
Some teams he really could have happily lived out his life without them ever existing.
He had a list.
One: Dick and Clark Kent
Clark had been the first hero he had introduced Dick to. It was a move he had regretted ever since.
He was glad the two of them got along, of course, but did they have to get along so well?
He could withstand torture but the two sets of sad puppy eyes attacking at the same time was on another level altogether.
Two: The Titans
Pros: Dick was making friends.
Cons: Dick was either away with his friends, or they came home with him. Really, all Bruce wanted was to spend one week without putting out any fires caused by teenage superheroes. Literal fires, not metaphorical ones. Well, actually there were plenty of those kind too.
Three: Dick and Jason
When Bruce first brought Jason home he wasn’t sure how Dick was going to react. And so maybe he panicked slightly and didn’t end up telling him for three weeks. In his defense, the voicemail he had left asking Dick to call him soon was left before the newspaper article came out.
Perhaps not his best moment.
Eventually, though, the two boys were introduced.
There was some yelling that took place, mostly directed at him, but other than that things seemed to go rather smoothly. Assuming, that is, that smoothly meant neither of them seemed to care about getting to know the other one, and mostly kept to themselves and their own activities.
And then, four months, two weeks, and five days after Jason first came to the manor, Bruce came home to discover the two of them had bonded over some unspoken activity that neither were willing to divulge. Alfred knew and didn’t disapprove so it couldn’t be that bad, but from then on out it was…well…
Bruce began the daily habit of checking his blood pressure.
Four: Talia al Ghul and Lois Lane
Bruce didn’t know how the two of them had met and he didn’t want to. See, Dick, he was okay with not knowing things. Sometimes. In this one instance, at least.
Five: Dick and Slade Wilson
Worst three weeks of his life.
Six: Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn
He was happy for them, he really was. He just wished they could be happy together somewhere less structurally damaging.
Seven: Jason and Harley Quinn
Explosion therapy was not a thing, despite both their arguments otherwise. They didn’t even give him a Joker effigy to blow up. They could have at least asked. He would have happily paid for that one and all the rest of them.
Eight: Tim and Barbara
He wasn’t that old. He knew how to use his computer.
Nine: Jason and Cassandra
Too competent. They should never have been allowed on the same team for any game ever. If he heard one more complaint from any of his other children he was going to seriously lose it.
And then there was that one time the two of them disappeared for a week and no one, not even himself or Clark, could find them. They had turned back up with grins and minimal injuries, and Bruce had tried to not investigate, he really had. But he needed to know, regardless of how much he regretted it later. (A lot. He regretted it a lot.)
Ten: Dick, Jason, and Constantine
Bruce hated magic.
Eleven: Jason, Diana, and Barry Allen
No one knew how or why the three of them had teamed up. It had been four months of secret meetings and pointed looks and minor heists that couldn’t technically be traced back to them but Bruce knew. And then there was the regular day-to-day hero-ing. Diana, he could understand. That’s what she did. Jason? Had always been vocally opposed to getting too involved with the Justice League, but had also always looked up to Diana, so maybe that was understandable? Allen? The man was retired. And he wasn’t suddenly out of retirement for some reason, no. He was just there to “lend a hand” to the other two.
At least Bruce could comfort himself in knowing Jason was spending time with two respectable individuals. It was certainly a step up from his unfortunately ongoing acquaintance with Rayner.
Twelve: Stephanie and Hal Jordan
They should never have been allowed to meet. It was a disaster. For Bruce.
Jason had been the one to introduce them, as he had proudly let Bruce know after the first breaking news cycle hit.
Thirteen: Duke and Damian
Bruce would have told Jason how thankful he was that he was acting as the moderating adult influence with those two if he didn’t think Jason would start doing the opposite out of spite.
Jason would make a great parent someday.
Bruce would love a six month vacation.
Fourteen: Alfred and Martha Kent
He didn’t really need to explain this one, right? Everyone could just move on, continue with their lives and so on and so forth.
Fifteen: Damian and Batcow
Because a boy needs a cow and a cow needs an emotional support duck, turkey, cat, dog, rabbit, goat, and raccoon. Apparently. Tim and Jason were, in Bruce’s opinion, far too enthusiastic to provide research as evidence whenever needed (or not needed, as was usually the case).

Perfect / Love Won’t Die
Dominick “Sonny” Carisi x Reader • Law and Order SVU • Domestic Fluff, AFAB!Reader
Summary: Sonny happily holds the bouquet of flowers he bought for his girlfriend only for her to open the door and start crying. He immediately panics, but soon finds himself amused when she reveals the true reason for her tears. AO3
A/N: I’ve never posted any of my SVU imagines, but I had to with this one :) Happy 2024! My resolution is to post more of my work so I’m digging through all my drafts and posting them lol. Enjoy husband material Carisi <3
In all the six months you had been dating Sonny, there were never many problems that couldn’t be resolved with a simple conversation or a hug and a kiss on the cheek. As far as Sonny was concerned, it was the perfect relationship. He had gotten to know all your little habits; likes and dislikes, pet peeves, niche obsessions. Six months wasn’t exactly a super long time but it wasn’t short either. After only half a year of dating each other, he’d confidently testify that he had fallen in love with you deeply, enough to want to spend the rest of his life with you. He was happy to get married, have babies, grow old together…the whole shebang.
Things were going steady with you. He couldn’t imagine himself being with anybody else, and he was over the moon to know that you felt the samw way. Long late-night conversations about the future the two of you dreamed of revealed that you wanted him to be a part of it as much as he wanted you. Sure, Sonny was aware of how much of a (hopeless) romantic he could be sometimes, but that was in the past, and all of those relationships weren’t with the right people. His sisters had been talking his ear off ever since high school, warning him about women that would only break his heart. It made him wince just to think about all the red flags they ticked off angrily; gold-diggers, manipulators, emotionally unstable women, emotionally unavailable women…and the likes of it. That and their own broken-heart experiences that prompted very fuelled lectures of examples of men Sonny shouldn’t follow always rang in his mind, even until now.
He’d also been made well aware of how right they were about his exes with a bunch of ‘I told you so’s’ and narrowed eyes, but those relationships were in the past and he was much, much younger (and dumber) than he is now. He only had a couple of serious relationships in his adulthood, which ended up not being the right fit for either parties. Then, his love life got buried under the heavy, heavy load of police work and law school and he never found the time to make himself available in the dating pool. He was always too tired, too beat, too mentally drained. It was never a priority.
Then everything came to a stop and his whole world wouldn’t do anything but revolve around you. Sonny was smitten, like a lovesick puppy who got shot by cupid’s nuclear-powered bazooka as fate would have it.
He never felt this way about anyone in his life before, it was a feeling he relished in and was adamant on not letting go.
You were perfect.
Obviously, you had your flaws, but all only human, none of them fatal. Like how you had a habit of ordering too much food but he ends up being the one to finish it up when you realised your eyes had been bigger than your appetite — but he didn’t mind that at all, in fact he secretly loved being able to feast like a King — or how sometimes, you would arrive 10 minutes late to your dates on one of your busiest weeks, which he never complained about because he had his fair share of being unpunctual as well. Plus, you always made it up to him one way or another.
You were absolutely perfect, inside and out. Sonny thanked God everyday for sending a woman as smart, beautiful and kind as you his way. He’s never felt so lucky.
Sonny knew and loved everything about you, down to your weirdest quirks. If there was a Jeopardy! game where the topic was You, he’d be waving around his trophy like a mad man. What you didn’t tell him, he learned. It was the same way you got to know him. The two of you were always honest with each other, trust being the pillar of your relationship, it was why you got along so well. You knew how to make him happy, as he did for you.
So, why is it that you were crying as he handed you a bouquet of your favourite flowers as soon as you opened the door to your apartment?
“Hey, hey, what’s wrong?” His sweet smile dropped to a concerned frown, uncomfortable and nervous at your sudden reaction.
There you were in front of him, dressed in your most comfortable pair of pyjama pants and an oversized tee that he was sure once belonged to him, messy hair up that he found extremely adorable. Nothing seemed out of place, except for the fact that…well, you were crying.
He always brought you flowers. Was he late? He glanced at the clock on your wall. No…was it something he said? Something he did? Something…he totally forgot about?
“Nothing- no, everything’s fine, nothing’s wrong.” You sniffed, hugging the fresh bouquet close to your chest, dipping your nose into the floral fragrance to smell it only to find that the tears had triggered an onslaught of snot. That only made you cry more.
The bubble of nerves in Sonny’s chest was bursting at this point, he was almost worried he was having a heart attack. “Doll, you’re crying, something’s wrong.”
He held out an arm to pull you into a hug and you eagerly sunk into his embrace. You buried your face into the fabric of his suit jacket, breathing in what you could of his faded perfume. His calloused hands stroked your hair, softly caressing your head as he cradled it. He gently peeled you off of him to get a better look of your face, now red and eyes puffy from sobbing.
He held your cheeks between his palms and you pouted, looking up at him with sad doe-like eyes, and if that didn’t break his heart that he must not have one because the look on your face was shattering him in every possible way right now. One of his thumbs swiped a fresh tear off your cheek, he felt you nuzzle into his hand.
The tall blond gently led you to your couch and set the flowers down on the coffee table before cuddling up with you close to his chest. You wrapped your arms around him desperately, wanting nothing more than to be absolutely engulfed by everything Sonny — scent, skin and biceps.
“You’re killing me sweetheart, you gotta tell me what’s gotten you all upset like this.” You felt him kiss the top of your head and love bloomed in your chest immediately. “Come on, doll, what’s up?”
You sighed, big and loud, huffing away all the choked up tears with one big breath. “I swear it’s nothing. I’m so stupid.”
He was quiet for a while until you felt his voice vibrate from his chest again, “Was it…me? Did I do something wrong?”
You whipped your head to look at him, only to be greeted with a very worried expression.
Oh, Sonny. Oh, sweet heavenly innocent Sonny. How could you not love this man with every fibre of your being when he’s got that look in his eyes? The one where his pupils are so dilated, you could see your reflection in his big, blue puppy eyes.
How could you have been so careless?! Of course he’d think you were crying because of him, the sweet stupid man — God, you loved him so much. The thought only made you more emotional…and just like that the waterworks came rushing back in.
“Oh, God, Sonny-“ you hiccuped, pulling yourself away from him to put your face in your hands. “I’m so sorry- it’s not your fault at all,”
The lovesick, worried-sick man shot up next to you to pull you into his arms once again, stomach churning at the wave of emotions you were going through. He couldn’t even detective his way through this, his mind going haywire with every sniff that came from you.
“Then what is it?” He tried to keep the panic out of his voice, “Did something happen at work? Is it that asshole again?”
With what he dealt with at his job, it wasn’t out of the question for his mind to be going down that dark path, but he shoved his anger and panic down to focus on your well-being, remaining rational until you were calm.
That made you shoot up to look at him again, words tumbling out of your mouth hurriedly to curb his worries. “No, no! I’m okay, I’m absolutely fine, Todd — that ass — didn’t do anything to me, I promise you, I swear to God. And it’s not you, it’s not anything even remotely related to anything sane at all. I don’t even know why I’m getting all worked up over a bunch of random things, it’s just so—“
“Doll.” Your boyfriend’s voice pulled you out of your rambling. The loving concern that radiated off of him was enough to bring you back to your senses. Gently, he asked again. “What is it?”
You melted immediately, both embarrassed and exhausted from all the sobbing you had been doing. “I’m on my period.”
Oh.
Oh!
“I know, I’m not usually this emotionally affected but my hormones are all over the place and my TV decided to autoplay The Notebook, now I’m a mess.” You sniffed. “I’m so sorry. You shouldn’t have seen me like this, much less deal with me.”
It was only then that the detective noticed the TV screen, paused on Ryan Gosling’s frowning face.
He tried to stifle his amusement, but it came out in a fit of giggles, much to your dismay.
“It’s not funny.” You pouted.
“I just— I thought—“ His laughter consumed him, shoulders shaking as he held up his palms to his face and ran his fingers through his hair, uncaring of how it would mess it up. Sonny leaned back into the couch and continued to laugh with his hands over his face.
“I’m sorry.” Your voice was so quiet it came out like a squeak, ashamed of how you cried like a baby in front of him. Although the two of you spent plenty times over at each other’s places and hanging out with each other, over the six months he knew you, you never had your hormones hit you this hard. It wasn’t uncommon to you, but it wasn’t a regular occurrence either, and it certainly wasn’t an event Sonny had the pleasure of experiencing…until today.
“It’s okay if you’d prefer to be at your own place right now, I totally get it. I won’t be offended in the least, okay? I’ll call you in the morning.” Some men in the past have been weirded out when this happened to you, so you weren’t lying when you said you wouldn’t be offended — it was ‘your fault’ anyway, that was what you had grown accustomed to.
But Sonny, the ever-loving and understanding guy, did not share the same view. Of course not! Raised-with-sisters, loves-his-mother, thoroughly Italian, good-Catholic-man-who-respects-women Sonny, would never in a million years ever even think about being upset with you just because your period messed with your emotions. And that’s why you weren’t sure why you were so surprised when he responded to your offer with a kiss.
This was Sonny. He would never think lowly of you because of something you couldn’t control.
“That’s crazy talk, doll.” He mumbled into the kiss, smiling as he continued to love on your lips. “I’d never leave you alone like this.”
You pulled away a bit to properly look at his face, “Really?”
This was the man your heart belonged to. You don’t know how you didn’t explode when he gave you the most charming smile that ever graced his lips.
“Really.”
Everything you were worried about solved itself into place, like sentient puzzle pieces figuring themselves out with confidence.
“You’re too good for me.”
Unabashedly, you continued to make out with your boyfriend on your couch, a newfound appreciation driving you mad with love.
“I’m only for you, babe. Don’t need anyone or anything else but you.”
———
Now that the two of you were freshened up and settled down with mugs of hot cocoa in your hands, you and Sonny were much more at ease.
There was nothing better to Sonny than to be cuddled up with his girlfriend with her head laying on his chest. You practically clung to the arm draped over your shoulder, making a nest out of his bicep for your face — which reminded him of a koala bear, but he kept that thought to himself. He was so comfortable, so happy that this was his life. His nose pressed against your hair, the scent of your shampoo reminding him of a holiday well-spent together in Mexico. Deja Vu hit him the minute he kissed your head, laughing through his nose when he remembered the events that happened just a few hours prior.
“Hey,” he nudged you with the arm you were glued to. You pulled your focus from the movie you were watching — a comedy, nothing that would make the ‘bloody demon hormones possess me’ as you put it — and raised your eyebrows curiously in response. “I’m just wonderin’…”
“Hmm?”
“Why did you cry when I gave you the flowers?”
You groaned, still somewhat embarrassed at the flurry of emotions you attacked the innocent man with. But you humoured the question anyway, “I opened the door and you were standing there, so handsome and so sickeningly charming, holding up flowers that you brought for me. You should be worried if I didn’t cry.”
“Wow,” he whistled. “I’m really that handsome, huh?”
You playfully hit him in the chest with your fist as you resumed your initial position, “Shut up.” A smirk managed to rip it’s way through your lips. “But mostly, I was crying because I was so sad that the flowers were going to die. I don’t know, just weird how my brain works on my period.”
It was a nonchalant mention, nothing big to you, but it stuck to his mind. Flowers dying made you upset. How precious was that? He catalogued the thought, filing it away for the future. The inkling of humour tempted him, though.
“So, not so much on the handsome part?”
You snorted, “Eh, I’ll give it a 60/40.”
“It should be in the news or something. ‘Guy So Handsome, Makes A Grown Woman Cry’” he gestured in the air as if there was a banner.
“How about, ‘Girl So Hormonal, Makes A Grown Man Cry With Her’?”
“Psh, I didn’t cry.”
“You so were.”
“Was not.”
You laughed, thinking he’d given it up when the sound of the movie began to fade into your hearing again.
“You should come over the precinct, tell the guys how I can make the ladies cry just by showing up at their door.”
He wore that goofy, toothy grin you were so accustomed to whenever he was joking around.
You rolled your eyes. Then decided to mess with him. “Excuse me? Ladies? Plural?”
The grin immediately wiped off of his face. “No- I meant lady, as in singular.”
“Mhmm.”
“I mean— no, that’s not what—“
“Sure, Son.” The monotonous voice you used made him sweat.
“You know you’re the only gal for me! I was just joking…hey, baby, come on, look at me…”
———
Months passed by and relationship milestones came and went. You finally met his family on month eight, and him yours. Month ten, you got a promotion at work and thankfully — not by your doing — Todd left the company. Sonny and the rest of the SVU team made a breakthrough on a case, you met his coworkers you heard so much about for the first time when he brought you along for their celebratory dinner. He was teased relentlessly for ‘keeping such a wonderful woman from us all this time’. You enjoyed the camaraderie that they shared with each other, and felt like you won a prize when they extended it to you.
Time passed by you so fast that you barely noticed it was almost a full year since you and Sonny made it official.
The day of your anniversary, he made reservations for the two of you at a fancy restaurant — Italian, of course. You reminisced the journey of your relationship together over some fine dining and a delightful bottle of wine. The ambiance, mixed with the light-headed feeling from one too many glasses of wine, only made the love you had for Sonny so much more emphasised. It was a dream, to be loved by such an amazing man, to have found your soulmate. If you weren’t at such busy points of your career, you’d literally have his babies right then and there. A couple of mini Sonny’s would do the world good, you pondered. Unbeknownst to you, the subject of your thoughts was thinking the exact same thing, only he was dreaming up a babble of mini You’s instead.
Sonny and you walked home together — he had basically moved into your apartment by now, he was finding it harder and harder to be separated from you at night. Having you next to him made him sleep better, and just generally being around you made him feel better — the two of you never made his move-in an official thing, but there was no need to. It was almost like you shared a telepathic connection. Although, Sonny being Sonny, will make the moving in an official thing whether you needed to or not. Maybe into an actual house, with a backyard and a huge kitchen and a family to raise in to make it a home. One day. Maybe even tomorrow. He’d do anything, anytime with you.
“Got you something, by the way.” He grinned, keys jangling on the doorknob as he swung it open for you.
“Sonny, you didn’t have to.” You blushed. One year together and he still had that effect on you.
“Well, I wanted to.”
While you were taking off your shoes, he used it as a distraction to take it out of the hiding spot he so carefully planned — his height being an advantage to said plan — and waddled over in his socks to where you were sitting on the couch, handing it to you once he was sat as well.
It was a daintily patterned gift bag, not too big and not too small either, with a card attached to it on the front. You carefully removed it to read his words in neat handwriting.
Happy 1 year anniversary, doll. I love you so much. You make me the luckiest man alive. My love for you will never die.
You wanted to cry, so touched by his short but undeniably sweet words. He saw how your bottom lip jutted out, the way it usually did when emotions got the best of you, and smiled to himself with a bit of pride in getting his words right.
Slowly, you pried the top of the bag open, only discovering a plastic dome. “Careful.” Your boyfriend noted.
You wondered what it was, going over all the possibilities in your head as you took it out of the bag; lava lamp, necklace, tiny bottle, lantern…only to gasp when you saw what it really was inside.
A small sphere-shaped cactus with a crown of pink flowers, placed inside a white ceramic pot with the words, ‘My love for you will never die’ engraved in cursive writing around it.
Ahhhh, here come the waterworks.
“Sonny,” your eyebrows scrunched up, lips fully pouting now. “This is the sweetest fucking gift ever.”
Your use of words didn’t go unnoticed by the smiling man, earning you a chuckle out of him. “I remember the time you cried when I brought you flowers, and you told me it was because you were sad ‘bout them dying…it’s cheesy, I know. Corny, a bit. But I thought you’d like it.”
The rising inflection of his voice gave away his nerves, but you were quick to make your appreciation known. “I do, I do! It’s just the most beautiful and thoughtful gift anyone’s ever given me. Thank you, baby. I’m- Aw…“
You choked up and he took that as his cue to pull you into his arms, careful to set the prickly plant down so you wouldn’t accidentally get hurt.
“It’s true though, my love will never die. You’re stuck with me for as long as you want me.”
“You know I’m shit at keeping plants alive, Son!” You couldn’t help the wavering in your voice, “Oh, but this is just so, so sweet. You’re just too cute for your own good.”
“Well, I was cute enough for you to accept the babbling guy who asked you out a year ago.” The giggling that followed made his blue eyes seem brighter.
“Yeah, I couldn’t say no to that face.”
You took the comfortable silence that ensued as a segue to your own offering to him, “Speaking of this cactus being put at the risk of dying, I’m gonna have to appoint someone to remind me it needs water every now and then.”
“I’m assuming that would be me?”
“Yup.” You shifted around to look through your purse. “So, I was thinking…”
Sonny narrowed his eyes at you, “Thinking…?”
You held out your palm and reached out for his, dropping a familiar weight into his hands. As soon as you pulled your hands away, the object revealed itself to be a single silver key with a brown leather strap keychain attached to the ring, ‘Det. Carisi’ engraved on one side and ‘Sonny’ on the other.
He looked up at you, meeting eager eyes that matched his own. You were practically bouncing with giddiness, excited to reach yet another milestone.
“Move in with me? Officially?”
God, you were so perfect.
“Abso-fucking-lutely.”

hero's homestead
A/N: just a lil blurb I've had stuck on my mind and had to frigging get out since watching Road House
Pairing: Elwood Dalton x f!reader
Warnings: physical injuries, jealousy, kissing, mentions of grief and death
SHARING IS CARING, SO PLEASE REBLOG
Growing up in Glass Key made your face quite familiar around these parts. Everyone knew you, not because you were popular or from a rich family. Lord knows you wish you were.
But because the island was just so small, like a little fishbowl with too many sharks circling around their prey, everyone knew each other around here. However, the small island was full of a strong sense of community.
Your friendship with Charlie started while you were in high school. You were just a freshman and Charlie was six when Stephen and his wife would very often ask you to baby-sit.
Saying no to them was nearly impossible. Not only did they pay you well, but they always offered you a ride home and made you sure you had dinner before leaving. They really treated you like you were part of the family and helping one another in the community was just so normal.
They always treated you with welcoming kindness and respect so, if there was anything you could do to help them, you did it. Aside from baby-sitting Charlie, this included working at their book store.
You were around there most of the time. If you weren't at home or at school, you were at Glass Books.
As you got older, you started to spend less and less time there in order to focus on your own personal and professional life.
That didn't mean you were never around anymore. You still made your frequent stop to buy the new read of the week.
"Why don't you just get all the books you want for the month, so you don't have to keep coming back?" Charlie questioned genuinely curious.
"Nah, I like coming here. I like the service. And besides, you'd miss me too much, kid" you chuckled watching the young teenage ring your book up at the register.
When Stephen told you about his wife's illness, it really took you by surprise. She could've easily been voted the happiest woman of Glass Key. The aura she possessed could make the dullest room become the brightest. Her sense of humor would have even the most no-nonsense person cracking a smile. She was an amazing woman and a motherly figure to most.
The entire community mourned her loss. The blue sky and the tropical environment wasn't enough to brighten the day for your neighborhood's residents. The heavy rains that followed that entire week led you to believe that even the island was weeping for her absence.
Between medical expenses, funeral costs and a growing teenager, Stephen had to learn to be a single father quite fast. And that meant working a full-time job to make end's meet.
He asked you to help out with the store and you happily agreed. Glass Books was his wife's dream. She loved spending her days there, in the cozy little bookstore she'd built with the love of her life.
Although you know Stephen has a lot on his plate, you can't help but wonder if he wants to avoid the store and her memory altogether.
You refused to accept money for it, knowing the shop didn't make so much money. Even so, Stephen would still transfer you a small amount whenever he could and would often bring you breakfast, lunch or dinner because he felt it was the least he could do.
All you wanted to do was help.
He was more than grateful, especially when he saw how you could make Charlie laugh by putting on music and dancing in the middle of the store with her.
He could see her slipping into a dark place after the death of her mother. Dealing with his own pain, he did his best. But, you were the best friend she needed. A feminine figure she could go to talk about more embarrassing situations or just to get her mind off of the loss.
Gradually, it seemed like their small family was beginning to heal. Although the loss was a still a fresh wound, and Stephen would often find Charlie clutching a small portrait of her mother asleep in bed, they were managing to keep the pain at bay.
You understand how important this store to them. It represents so much more than being just a simple local book store. It represents her.
The store was just as special to you as it was to Charlie and Stephen.
It had always been your refuge, but now, it was always the place where you met him.
Charlie, with her overly friendly nature that she inherited from her mother, struck up a conversation with the then stranger just outside the bookstore.
Her overprotective father was soon outside within seconds. Although the friendly streak ran deep within him too, he knew these parts were full of men with bad intentions.
Once he realized the stranger wasn't from around, he felt a little more at ease.
Although you remained inside the shop, you could overhear their conversation as you inched towards the door and opened it to stand in the doorway, eyeing the stranger with caution.
Stephen was surprised to know he'd come out of town to work at the Road House. To be honest, neither of you expected him to last very long. At that place, security never does.
The bouncer turnover never ceased with the riots that broke out there almost every night. So, you didn't bother getting your hopes up.
However, Dalton kept coming back. Every other day, he came in with the excuse of using the computer or buying a book just to strike up a conversation with you and lay down his flirtatious charm.
Charlie was the first to notice he would always come around when you were there and, if you weren't, he'd always make sure to ask when you were.
She had quite a bit of fun poking fun at you, telling you he had a crush on you or mocking the unconscious change in your voice you had when talking to him.
It didn't long take for feelings to develop between you and him. There was no doubt in either of you. Although unspoken, the magnetic attraction was undeniably present.
Some of those talks were deep and you felt you could confide in him to share things you hadn't shared with anyone at all. He, in turn, told you about the night on the train tracks and how the last fight he had in the ring haunted him every night.
There was no denying the bond you were forming. However, the rumors that were spreading around the island about the closeness between Ellie and him made you hesitant to make the first move.
When you casually brought it up into conversation, he shook his head and told you it wasn't anything serious and that she'd took him on a date once. You wanted to ask him if he had feelings for her, but that would be too much.
"So what's the deal with you and Dalton?" Charlie curiously asked, having picked up on the constant courtship that you two refused to act on.
"There is no deal. We're just friends. Hardly that."
"I may be young, but I'm no fool. I know there's something going on between you two."
"Sorry to disappoint you, kid, but there isn't. Besides, I hear he's got a sort of a girlfriend" you replied without looking up at her from the book in your hand.
You were both sat in fold-out beach chairs placed in front of the store, enjoying a couple of white cherry slushies, hoping the ice cold drink could soothe the hot, humid weather.
"How do you have a 'sort of girlfriend'? Either she is or isn't."
"Those things are complicated. I guess they're getting to know each other," you shrugged wishing you could avoid the topic.
"Like you guys are?"
"There is nothing going on. Sure, he's cute and funny and all, but he's seeing someone else. He's not interested in me, Charlie."
"So, you are interested in him?"
"It doesn't matter if I am. She's a doctor, she's smart and she's really pretty and drives a nice car. I know I don't stand a chance, so I'd rather not get my hopes up," you rambled, failing to read anything on the page you were stuck on. "Can we please drop this now?"
"Oh my god," she smirked staring at you. "You're jealous."
You scoffed at her ridiculous accusation and shook your head as you closed the book and set it in your lap.
"I am not jealous. I do not get jealous."
"Yes, you are! You totally are!"
"I am not! I just don't want to talk about this anymore, alright? So can we drop it?"
"Alright, alright. Sorry I brought it up."
She couldn't stop smiling as you opened your book to continue reading. Although you weren't her parents, her mind couldn't stop thinking of a way to parent-trap you into getting together.
However, her plans were brought to a halt when Brandt's lackeys invaded the shop just a few days later.
You tried your best to stand your ground and defend the shop along with Stephen. He told you to leave, but you refused.
After the beatdown you both received unwillingly, a fire had been set and the cruel men left. The adrenaline that surged through your bodies was enough to numb the pain in order to get you both quickly back on your feet to put out the fire.
Between the blood loss and the resurfacing pain, the billowing smoke got stronger and stronger. The flames became too strong too quickly and had engulfed the entire wall across the front counter.
Light-headed and dizzy, Stephen tried to save whatever he could from the store. As you rushed back and forth, you realized that the fire had grown too much and swallowed the front entrance.
The heat of it shattered the glass windows. The open air only fueled the fire more. Coughing from the heavy smoke, both you and Stephen got down on the floor to avoid the unbreathable air and attempted to crawl to the back exit.
Everything went dark after that and melded into one huge blur.
You don't remember when you actually blacked out, but you do remember feeling relieved once you heard the fire department's arrival.
The time you spent in the hospital was short - only a couple of days - but it was enough to make you reflect on your life.
An overwhelming sense of regret washed over you as you thought about Dalton.
You'd only known each other for a few weeks, but what if you could've had something special? What if Charlie's jokes were true and he actually ended up to be your soulmate?
She could be wrong too, but the fact that you could've died and never found out if you ever really did stand a chance ate at your mind.
You hadn't fully realized the extent of your attachment until a couple days later.
You show up at the store with a limp from the beatdown you'd received a couple days ago.
Stephan tries to assure you they're fine, that you need to rest and recover, but you argue that you'll go insane if you stay at home with nothing to do, high on pain meds.
Helping the owners clean and salvage whatever they can, Charlie casually mentions that Dalton and left her and her father a suitcase full of money to rebuild the store before he got on a greyhound bus destined to leave Glass Key.
The same regret you'd felt in the hospital strikes you again and secretly consumes you.
You try to play it off and instruct her to not to tell anyone about the money. You barely understand what she said after that. All you can think about for the rest of that morning is that he left and didn't even say goodbye.
When Charlie and her father invite you to get some lunch with them, you politely refuse, opting to stay back and keep yourself busy. You lie and tell them you had a big breakfast beforehand just so they won't worry.
You promised you wouldn't get your hopes up. You knew better than that. Bouncers never last at the Road House. You know this just as well as any of the other residents of Glass Key.
He's gone now.
You just want to be alone for a bit to process it.
The door opens and the bell above it rings as you sweep away at the shattered glass, forcing you to look back over your shoulder.
The sight you see has you frozen in surprise.
His face is impossible to forget. You could never forget those big blue doe eyes, even with the dark skin that circles his right eye.
You groan lightly at the shooting pain from your broken rib as you straighten and turn to face him, holding the broom by your side as you stand next to it.
Dalton closes the glassless door behind him as he greets you with a silent but friendly smile until the cut on your lip and the black eye remind him of the damage he caused.
He doesn't look too different from you. His eye is still a little swollen but mostly black now, his lip busted and the stitches on his eyebrow are all evidence that business has been handled at the Road House.
"So, the Glass Key hero returns" you smile at him, ignoring the sting on your bottom lip. "Charlie said you were riding off into the sunset. You forget something?"
"I'm not a hero and, no, I didn't" he starts, looking around the burned down shop trying to swallow his guilt.
"Changed your mind?"
"Someone kinda changed it for me, actually. A very wise person told me that heroes don't always have to ride off into the sunset. They can stay and make a homestead instead."
Joy bursts within you like fireworks on new years. You try to fight back the smile that creeps onto you lips.
"Thought you weren't a hero."
"I'm not."
You nod biting the inside of your cheek to mask your excitement. You take the second broom that Charlie had been using earlier and left leaning against the wall by the front door.
"This homestead could use a hand" you smile and offer him the broom.
He takes it with a happy grin, feeling finally accepted as if he finally found somewhere he belongs.
"There's, uh, one more thing" he says in a soft voice.
His hand raises to your chin, tilting your head up as he cranes his neck to kiss you in the most tender of ways.
Unable to forget about Ellie, you place a hand on his chest and gently push to stop the kiss.
Dalton's face contorts with confusion. He doesn't notice the breath he's holding, anxiety settling in as he fears that you'll ask him to stop. Maybe he got the wrong signals and you don't like him that way. He'd respect it, if that's the case, but it doesn't mean his heart won't be crushed.
"I thought you were seeing Ellie?"
He blinks slightly surprised. That's not what he had expected to hear, but it makes him kind of happy that you're not asking him to stop.
"She took me on a date and we kissed, but that was it."
"So, you are dating her?"
"What, are you jealous?"
"Why does everyone keep saying that? I'm not jealous."
"You sound a little jealous" he smirks.
"I'm not. I just... I don't wanna get my hopes up."
"I'm not dating her," he says gently stroking your bruised cheek. "I told her there's someone else for me, someone that I really wanna date."
He gazes into your eyes as you smile up at him and let him continue his kiss. You let his lips linger on yours and smile when you feel them stretch into a grin.
The cuts on your mouths hurt, but neither of you bother to pull away.
His kiss gradually intensifies. His tongue flicks over your bottom lip, politely asking for entrance. His free hand reaches for your waist as the other sets against your cheek, leaving the broom tucked in his arm.
You let his tongue slip past your defenses. The gentle way his hand cradles your face has you holding onto his strong forearm and the other broom for balance as the room spins around you from his vertiginous kiss.
Your chest presses against his as you moan softly into his mouth. It takes him every ounce of his self-control to not pin you against the wall.
The bell rings again, alerting you both of another's presence so you quickly pull apart, trying to quickly compose yourselves. Your eyes shoot to the door along with Dalton's.
You realize who it is, so he shyly lets his eyes wander around what's left of the store and sweeps the ashy floor.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything," Charlie smirks sipping her juice from a straw as she stands in the doorway.
"No, no," you reply nervously as heat pools in your cheeks. "Dalton and I were just, uh, cleaning up."
"Cleaning what? The floor or each other's throats?"
Dalton snickers at her candor, glancing at you until she continues.
"Good to see you're back though. And if you ask me, it's about time."

Wish You Were Closer
Idol: Jennie Kim (Blackpink)
Fate will always be a tricky fellow. Sometimes you either run from it or take the opportunity.
Word count: 2.9k
Warning: past relationships, angst, sad jennie, ambiguous ending, hurt reader, brief panic attack
☕buy me a coffee☕
A/N: soooooo remember that poll where you all voted for Jennie?
Staring at the text on her phone screen for what seemed to be five minutes, the rapper silently wishes that the message changes or a follow up joke comes in, but there's none of that and she's only left to give an affirmative to the request.
It wasn't like she had a choice either way.
“Hey, everything alright?"
Looking up, the brunette frowns before passing the phone for her older member to see.
Squinting, the actress reads the content before her mouth slowly forms into a small o before she's looking back up at her friend. “... will you be okay, Jennie?”
It's a dumb question, they both know, but Jennie only chews at her lower lip as she tries to think of all the possibilities this scenario would go through.
"I don't know. What if they don't agree? Will they change my partner?”
In hindsight, that would be much better and less stressful, but Jisoo knows it was unlikely.
"The performance is a month away. I'm sure you can pull it off.” But seeing the look on the older woman’s face, the brunette wasn't so sure if it really was a good idea.
..
"It's so good to see you two. I'm sure you already know about each other and I know that you'll be the perfect match for this performance.” The dancer clapped happily while Jennie stood awkwardly to the side, eyes trained in front of her to ignore the third person in the room for as long as she could.
"The fans will eat this up for sure." The dancer cheers before he's waving his hands. “Come on, Y/n, no need to be so awkward. Relax." The man claps you on the shoulder, laughing before he's gently shaking your arms in an attempt to soothe your nerves, but your expression gives nothing away as you stare at him.
He only rolls his eyes in good nature. “Okay, so before we go ahead and start preparing for the dance, I'm going to let the two of you get to know each other better so we can build your chemistry."
Jennie winces a little when she sees the way your eyes narrow. It makes her ten times more uncomfortable as she fidgets with her fingers.
Chemistry.
She doubts that you'd have that together. Not after the history you both shared.
And almost as though she were being mocked, music blared through the speakers though it wasn't loud enough for her to not hear either you or the dancer.
“We’ll bring some spice into this so behave~” He teases before jogging off to one side of the room, grabbing his phone to try and see what steps he could come up with.
With the lyrics of Closer by The Chainsmokers echoing inside the practice room, you can't help but roll your eyes while Jennie bites her lip, hoping to somehow start a conversation for the sake of this performance.
“So…” Rocking on her feet, she silently curses herself for being so out of her element at that moment. "You've been pretty busy lately.” She comments and you don't even spare her a glance when you start to stretch your legs. "Doubt it's as busy as you.” You answer curtly and her lips pressed together, pouting slightly before she averted her gaze to the floor.
“I guess so-"
“We don't really have to talk." You're quick to cut her off when you stand back up, now stretching your arms. “It's just a dance. After that, we can go back to pretending the other doesn't exist." She bites her tongue to stop herself from retorting. Instead, she sucks in a deep breath before slowly nodding her head.
“Okay."
It hurt, but she wouldn't tell you that.
Just like before.
..
The second week rolls by and Jennie feels nowhere near motivated to go to practice today and spend another six or so hours with you. It wasn’t as though you were horrible, in fact you were pretty professional, going through the routine without an issue and acting as though everything was fine.
And that was her problem.
Jennie was anything but fine, not with having you so close where she can practically hear the sound of your breath as it teases her skin when you’re just too close to her. She’s not fine when she can smell the same cologne that you always used before you cut her from your life - the same smell that she would often look for in the shirts she used to have you wear, in the sheets of her bed until she decided it was time to let them go. She’s not fine when she can feel your heart beating just under her fingertips when the choreography tells her that she has to do it, just to remind her that you truly were in front of her and not just a figment of her imagination.
She’s not fine when she feels your warmth wrapped around her when all she knows is that your heart was wrapped in nothing but ice because of her. She hates the way you stare at her like she means something to you while you’re dancing because she knows it’s all an act for the performance.
It wasn’t real.
“Unnie, have you tried talking maybe?” Chaeyoung knows that it’s a sensitive topic, but seeing the distress on the older woman’s face urged her to ask. Maybe they could think of a way to help.
Blinking slowly, Jennie shakes her head while letting out a breath. “Y/n always makes sure to leave before I can even try.” She grimaces when she remembers calling your name once, only to see your back facing her before you had shut the door behind you. “Even during breaks?” The Australian inquires and the rapper only shakes her head once more. “They’re making it very obvious that they don’t want to talk to me.” She says softly and Lisa frowns from her side before crossing her arms. “How are you even managing to do a dance like this if neither of you are talking to each other?”
Honestly? Jennie didn’t know the answer either.
It just felt like a long forgotten rhythm that both of your bodies merely remembered after years of being locked away. And as soon as the song played, it naturally came out.
“Can we talk?" She knows it's a long shot, but she was growing desperate. Despite knowing you'd rather be anywhere but here, the words come out of her mouth before she can even think when you already have your back to her.
"If you didn't want to be around me so much, why did you agree to do this?”
There's silence when you pick up your phone and the rapper doesn't even realize that she's held her breath until you finally turn around to look at her.
"If I knew it was you, I wouldn't be here.” You state simply but it's not enough as she persists. "Then how about after we met? Before we started practicing? Why didn't you back out?"
"Because I don't give up.”
Your tone cuts through her and Jennie’s mouth winds shut when your gaze pierces her soul. It's filled with so much raw emotion that she almost suffocates.
“I wanted to turn back as soon as I found out it was you I was being paired up with, but that would only make me a coward. When I do things, I make sure to get the job done even when it's killing me."
She says nothing more as you finally turn on your heel, grabbing your things to leave once more, but at the last possible second, she finds her voice again.
“I'm so sorry for what I did." Her voice is so soft, so delicate that you most likely didn't hear her, but seeing the way your hand stops on the knob is a clear indication that you heard her loud and clear. “I never meant to hurt you, but I just-"
“You didn't mean to… but you did it anyway so you could focus on yourself. It doesn't change what happened." You cut her off in a low tone. “It takes you four years before telling me that you're sorry? Only because we happen to be in the same space?" You turn to face her again and Jennie feels so small under your stare. “If you were sorry you would have tried a little sooner."
“I couldn't-"
“-risk your career.” You finish for her with a cold look. “You already made your decision, but a single call or text wouldn't have hurt." You spat bitterly, letting your calm facade break for a moment as you finally allowed your emotions to reach its peak. “I would have understood, but you left me all alone like I was a toy that you were done playing with, Jennie. You made me look like an idiot, embarrassing me like that and for what?”
Jennie’s lips pursed together as she listened to you rant, feeling her heart thumping against her ribs as the ache spread throughout her body.
She never meant to abandon you. But she felt as though if she were to keep communicating with you after the breakup she would eventually cave and run back to you. That would ultimately put the two of you in a difficult position that could throw all your hard work away.
“I'm sorry… “ Is all that she can really utter out and you just shake your head. "It's a little too late for that."
And with just a few steps, she was all alone in the practice room again.
She wonders if this is how you felt when she left you all those years ago or was it worse than this?
..
“You mean… they just left?” Jisoo asks with furrowed brows and Jennie nods while hugging her knees to her chest. “I don't blame them though… I fucked up.” She's ashamed of what she's done. She hates herself for the decisions she's made in the past.
If only she were wiser.
But she was just a kid in love when it all happened. When she thought she was doing what was right then, she realizes it's different now that she's older.
“They're right though. If I had just… been more mature about it, maybe they wouldn't hate me like this.”
"Come on, unnie, I don't think they hate you.” Chaeyoung cuts off her troubled rant. "Y/n is hurt like any other person out there. And from what you've told us, you're basically their first everything.” She adds on, Lisa nodding as the light haired female continued. "If they did hate you, they would have asked to be replaced for this performance you're both having."
Jennie's frown only deepens at that. "They're committed." Is all she can say and Lisa sighs in exasperation. “Unnie, put in a little more effort! The whole reason you guys really broke up is because neither of you decided to. You broke up with Y/n because it was easier-”
"It wasn't-”
"And they just accepted it because of whatever reason, I don't know. Did you bother asking?” Jennie goes quiet when the maknae continues. “If this so-called relationship really meant anything to both of you, you guys would have done at least something instead of giving up the way you both did.”
Jisoo looks at the brunette with a small nod. “They're right, Jennie. We get that we make mistakes, but this just shows how neither of you were actually ready for a real relationship.” She added, causing the rapper to sink further in her seat. "How can I ask them when they avoid every conversation that isn't about the performance?"
The two maknaes share a look, silently communicating through their eyes before nodding their heads.
“Leave it to us."
Jennie isn't sure what the pair were scheming, even Jisoo couldn't guess what they were up to, but whatever it was, she trusted that they would be of help and not the other way around.
Serious times often forced them into serious minds.
However Jennie was not prepared to be shoved in a recording booth with you like some high schooler. She could only mentally curse at her two friends before she heard your voice.
“Is this supposed to be some sort of prank?" The disdain is laced into your tone and Jennie panics at the small space between you. “I've been locked in here for nearly fifteen minutes." Jennie's eyes widen before she's shaking her head. “I swear I didn't do anything."
Spinning on her heel, the brunette quickly knocks on the door while trying to pry it open. “Guys! Let us out!" But you're both only met with silence, leaving the two of you alone and Jennie can feel the panic setting in. She tried desperately to pry the door open but that only proved to be futile when it barely even budged.
“Seriously you guys, this isn’t funny!” Sensing the anxiety in the woman’s voice, you purse your lips together before letting out a sigh and reaching out, hand coming in contact with her shoulder before the rapper flinches. “Jennie, calm down.”
But as she turned to look at you, you can't help the worry that sets in when you see the look on her face.
“You need to take a breath.” You know about her anxiety and the panic attacks, so you let your defenses fall as you gently tug her away from the door and sit her on the only stool inside the room. “You’re fine. They’ll let us out eventually.”
You were talking to her.
Even as embarrassing as the situation was, you were actually talking to her.
“I…” But her voice is stuck in her throat as her hands tremble. She was more terrified than elated. This method was far beyond what she wanted, even if it did manage to bring you closer to her.
Seeing the way her hands begin to shake, you mentally curse before carefully reaching for them, doing your best to ground her back to reality. “I need you to breathe." You say sternly, making eye contact with her in an attempt to catch her attention. Fortunately enough, the contact is enough to do just that and her eyes are connecting with yours.
She follows your breathing pattern, watching the rise and fall of your chest until she's hearing you more clearly. By the time you notice that she's more than calmed down, you finally take a step back to give her another once over.
“You know this is very high school for your members to do.” You can't help saying as you cross your arms over your chest and Jennie is able to gather her bearings before she finally looks at you. “I promise you, I had no clue that they were going to do this.” She swears wholeheartedly and you can see it in her eyes that she absolutely means it.
Sighing, you just shake your head and turn away. “I'm assuming they're aware and this is their form of an intervention?” Her silence is all the answer that you needed. “You know that what happened between us can't happen again.”
She definitely wasn't expecting you to finally talk to her, but something in her comes to life and she quickly shakes her head. “It doesn't have to be.” You look at her in confusion. “We don't have to go back to the way things were. We can be better.”
“Jen-”
“Please.” She knows if she doesn't say what she has to say, she might not get another chance like this again. “Please let me make it up to you. Please let me treat you better.”
She can see the emotions shifting in your expression this time. Your walls are cracking the longer you're together like this. She just needs a little bit of a push.
“Why now?” Your voice is barely a whisper when your shoulders grow slack. “I don't think I can go through that again.” You quietly admit and Jennie sucks in a deep breath as she takes a small step closer to you. “I promise I've changed.”
“If you feel like I'm lying then you can cut me from your life. You'll never hear from me ever again.”
It's not as though your life wasn't already like that before this performance, but you knew Jennie. And if she aims to simply be a ghost from your past then she will make that promise come true.
She knows it in herself that if you tell her no, then she'll walk away. But deep down she hopes that she can mend the connection you've both lost or at least make a new one.
Seconds tick by as you stare at the brunette, apprehension clear on your face as you try to weigh the pros and cons of letting her back in. The tension between you is palpable and Jennie fidgets in place the longer you don’t say anything.
She doesn’t know what’s going through your head anymore.
She used to be able to read you like an open book, but you were different now.
And so was she.
“My name is Jennie.” She finally says after sucking in a deep breath and extending a hand in your direction. “I hope we can get to know each other better.”
She holds her breath when you stare at her hand, registering her actions before realization soon falls upon your face. She isn’t sure what to think, but when you slowly lift your head to look at her, she sees the way your eyes soften a little before carefully taking her hand in yours.
“Y/n. It’s… nice to meet you.”

Oh So Reluctant 2 - PJM (18+)
Pairing: Husband!Jimin X Wife!Reader
Theme: Angst, SMUT, little fluff, Arrange marriage au. Majorly Jimin's POV.
Summary: For the past eleven months that you have been married to Park Jimin, he has not looked at you the way he has been doing today. And there is sinister in his eyes.
Word count: 2367
Warnings: Angst, unhappy married life, Jimin struggles with his feelings, he tries to keep himself sane, jealous jimin, unprotected sex (stay safe), swearing.
Minors are NOT welcomed in this blog!!
A/N: This story was requested by lovely @chimmy-licious. This is the second and last part of the two-shot. Hope you all like it.
Part 1
If there is anything that Jimin has learned in his 29 years of life then it’s the fact that nothing lasts forever. When he was merely 18 years old, his father divorced his mother and shifted to the states. That’s the first event to break his concept of “happily ever after”. He always thought his parents got well together. They weren’t a lovey-dovey couple but they knew how to spend days and nights with each other without having random fallouts. But he was wrong. He probably never understood that what he thought was peace is actually the lack of communication.
When Jimin was 22, he had his first real break up. He was in love with this girl and the moment she said she wanted to end it all, he felt as if his carefully constructed sand castle was crumbling down. And this was the second time he realized nothing actually lasts forever.
But he was still quite cheerful about his life. He had a ton of friends, went partying with them and led a prosperous life, thanks to his mom. And then came his 25th year and everything turned upside down. His best friend cum colleague betrayed him in the most unbelievable way.
That guy, named Sung Kwon, was accused of recruiting trainees in exchange for money. When the company ran an investigation on him, he blamed it all on Jimin. Jimin, who knew none of it, felt his vision turning dark and his wit getting lost. Even though further investigation proved Jimin innocent, he already faced all the emotional damage he could. He then promised himself that he would never ever get attached to anyone ever again. And he kept his word by drawing himself in working and achieving new heights ever so often.
He has had random hook-ups, one night stands, some acquaintances to drink with, some people to check up on him, but he never got close to anyone any more. That is why when his mother proposed to him to get married, he revolted. He couldn’t even think of getting into an active relationship and marriage? That was impossible for him to accept. However, in the end his mother won. He couldn’t reject her anymore given the fact that the lady had gone the extra mile to provide for him after his father left.
When he met you for the first and only time before the wedding, he cleared it up that marriage is his mother’s wish, not his. You made a good impression on him that day. You didn’t seem to be the clingy type or the curious type. You were rather composed and listened carefully to what he had to say. So, he concluded you would respect his space after marriage.
And you did, but not always. For the first six months you tried to get closer to him, which made him quite uncomfortable. You cooked dinners, planned dates, gave him meaningful gifts but he only felt guilt. Guilt of not feeling enough to do the same for you. Most of your interactions were awkward and your eyes would turn gloomy whenever there was a failed attempt of getting to know him more. And then you eventually stopped. You stopped trying anything at all.
Suddenly there were no cooked dinners to come home to, no movie nights to understand each other’s movie preferences, no little gifts to look forward to. Only then Jimin understood he got used to it all.
For the first six months, if Jimin felt anything for you then it was sexual desire. I mean, you are very attractive and sexy and he is a man with a dick, which obviously twitches seeing you in flimsy camisoles and shorts (even though you two don’t share a room). Nevertheless, when you stopped trying, he missed more than just your sexy body. He missed your face, your voice, your smile, your warmth and you. But his ego and cold nature never allowed him to approach you and he stayed holed up in his own space, lonely and guilty.
Just a week ago you asked him to attend your company’s event with you. He was internally happy to have you finally talk to him but he was scared that he is getting attached to an almost stranger again. So he said no. He lied. He said he had a press conference to attend, while he had no important schedule that day. He could clearly see the way your eyes started glistening right away. His heart dropped.
After a continuous battle with himself, he finally decided to give it a try. He decided to give you and this relationship a chance. He decided to talk to you about starting to take things slow rather than jumping into promises of forever. And the very first step of doing so was attending that event.
He intentionally got late to make it seem like his claim of having this nonexistent press conference was true. He styled himself well, asked a hairstylist to do his hair and drowned himself in his favorite perfume only to find you wrapped around another man’s arm while talking about divorcing him. He saw red. He quickly understood that he is jealous as well as scared of the prospect of losing you. Fuck! He was already attached to you.
“Who was that guy? Your ex?” his mouth runs on its own accord.
“No. He can be my future though.” You reply calmly, as if it’s not a big deal to leave your husband behind for another man.
“What makes you think I will let you go so easily?” Jimin confronts you and himself at the same time.
“Your reluctance towards my existence?” So this is what he had made you believe? You think he is reluctant towards you when he is always hyper aware of your presence? No. This is not right. So he clarifies himself, “I am not reluctant towards you, Y/N. I am rather very much aware.” Jimin raises his voice a bit as if to emphasize his statement.
“Aware of how much you don’t want me in your life?” If you asked him this question within the first six months of your marriage, he would have said yes. But he doesn’t feel the same anymore.
“No! Quite the opposite actually.” he replies.
That makes you take a look at him, as he already stares at you. You cock your eyebrow as if to ask for an explanation. When your eyes bore into Jimin’s, he finds himself getting entangled within his inner conflict. How should he explain what he feels for you? He knows he is attracted but is that enough to keep you in this worthless marriage? Will you even consider his feelings after the way he treated you? So he does what he feels like the best option. He changes the subject.
“You look very… beautiful tonight.” Jimin doesn’t lie when he compliments you. You are obviously very beautiful but tonight your beauty is just overshadowing everything. He rakes his eyes through your body. Your exposed cleavage makes him want to bury his head on your chest, taste your skin and mark you as his, only his.
You cross your legs and expose more of your skin as you catch him staring shamelessly.
He smirks. One of his hands reaches to grab the supple flesh of your thigh harshly. You almost spit your drink out.
“Don’t tease me, Y/N. I have been having a tough time controlling myself for these eleven months already.” Jimin’s voice drops down a few octaves. He is getting horny already. He knows it’s not right. He knows you two need to talk before getting into bed with each other but how can he keep himself sane when you look like this? His thumb draws invisible circles on your thigh.
Your eyes widen as you try to play innocent, “What do you mean?”
Jimin’s fingers glide higher on your smooth skin and it reaches where he has only imagined his fingers before.
His digits hover above your mound as he mouths, “Let me show you what I mean.”
You seem to contemplate what he just said for a couple of moments but then you swat his hand away from your body. Jimin thought he finally got you under his spell but his confidence lowered the moment you declined his advances.
“If you think you can win me over with sex after making it clear that you don’t want me in your life, then… you are wrong, Jimin.” Your words are followed with a sigh. Jimin removes his hands from your thigh as he reflects on his choice of action. This is not what he wanted but he fucked up anyway.
Just when he is about to apologize, he gets interrupted by that same guy from earlier.
“Y/N, Mr. Choi wants to congratulate you. Could you spare me a minute?” The guy questions looming awfully closer to your body.
“Sure, Taehyung.” You smile sweetly at him and Jimin feels himself turning green yet again.
You walk away with this taehyung guy as his hand stays on the small of your back. Jimin glares at the sight.
“Can I get you something, sir?” the bartender diverts Jimin’s attention.
“A dirty martini, please.” he says briefly as his eyes remain only on your figure.
This Taehyung guy is sly, he is on a mission of stealing you away from Jimin, that’s what Jimin concludes upon seeing Taehyung getting all cozy with you. But what bothers him more is that you don’t appear to be uncomfortable with any of it.
Jimin takes a large sip of his drink as he observes you. Your body slots perfectly in Taehyung arms as you two talk to whom he assumes a stakeholder. Taehyung says something in your ear and you roll your eyes at him. Then he takes you towards the dance floor and you give him one of your blinding smiles.
Jimin’s stomach feels funny, his heart tightens around his chest as he sees you swinging your body rhythmically with Taehyung’s. He places both of his hands on your waist and Jimin’s hold on his glass goes tighter.
You two look like a lovey-dovey couple when the truth is that he is your husband and he is sitting here alone watching you. The urge of claiming you overpowers his rationality as he finds himself leaving the barstool and walking towards you.
“Let’s go home. It’s quite late already.” Jimin says a bit loudly, placing a hand on your shoulder. You turn to look at him with an unreadable expression.
“I don’t wan-” You start but he cuts you off.
“We need to talk, Y/N. Please.”
You nod at him defeatedly.
He waits in his car while you bid goodbye to your colleagues.
“Are you really planning on divorcing me?” Jimin questions you as he drives towards home.
“If that’s what makes both of us happy and less burdened, then yes.” you seem to choose your words carefully, as if you have given this subject a thousand thoughts.
“I- I don’t want so. I wanna give this a try. Give us a try.” Jimin’s voice trembles a bit.
You look at him, “I understand if you are feeling overwhelmed after seeing your married wife with another guy. It’s not what you think it is, Jimin. You just feel possessive because I wear a ring of your name, not because you feel something for me.”
“No, Y/N. I know myself. I know what I feel and what I don’t. And I-” he gulps, “I think I developed some feelings for you.”
“Jimin, you are mistaken.” you try to reason.
“I never felt this much jealousy in my entire life. I was not only possessive but I am still very much jealous because that guy knows how to make you smile and make you feel comfortable around himself and I don’t. I hate myself for that. I am your fucking husband and I can’t even make you smile!” Jimin scolds himself.
“You never tried. I am sure you would have succeeded if you at least tried.” Your eyes drop down on your lap. Jimin knows you are teary.
“I am sorry. I am so fucking sorry, Y/N. I will try. Give me a chance. I will try my best to push away all of the insecurities and be there as your husband. A husband that you deserve.”
You don’t reply but Jimin hears a faint sniffling sound.
“You will give me a chance right?” he pesses on.
“Well I guess it’s not too late.” You reply, finally smiling at him through tears.
“Do you even have any idea how I felt when I saw his hands grazing you in places I never did?” Jimin’s breathy voice fans over your mouth as he pounds into you restlessly. His hold on your thigh goes tighter, making his nails dig into your flesh.
“How did you feel?” you place your question, grabbing Jimin’s shoulder for your dear life.
“I felt like dragging you off the dancefloor and fucking you on the bartop for everyone to see. Everyone should know you are mine. Right?” he bites on your collarbone and earns a whimper from you. But you don’t provide him with the answer he is looking for.
He slaps harshly on your naked butt while pressing you more on the glass window of his bedroom.
“Fuck. yes. Yes! I am yours, only yours. Fuck-” You feel yourself getting closer to a dizzying orgasm. “I’m close.”
“Me too. Hold on a bit more, baby. Let’s finish together.” Jimin’s hand leaves your thigh alone as it flies towards your cunt. His fingers start abusing your clit and send you over the edge.
“Jimin, I- I can’t-” You pant hard.
“Cum now.” Jimin commands and you comply. You cum on his cock as he spills his white hotness inside you.
You two come down from your high connecting your foreheads together.
“So… Do you still want to divorce me?” Jimin chuckles at your ruined state.
“Absolutely not.” you reply, pulling him down for a kiss as if to seal your fate together.

thinking about you rejecting choso’s first ever marriage proposal. not because you’re not absolutely head of heels in love with him, but because you have only been dating for about six months when he asked you.
not that there’s anything wrong with that (idk i would freak out tbh). the thing is, choso had heard about the concept of marriage, for the first time, maybe two weeks before he proposed to you.
he didn’t know any better is what i’m trying to say.
when you had explained it to him he was so fascinated by the fact that you were bound for life and ‘till death do us part’ that he didn’t even think that maybe, you were to young to marry, and maybe, you hadn’t been dating for nearly long enough to know if you really wanted to commit to each other or not. (even though he knew that you were the one for him)
the fact that you would have to wear rings that symbolized that you were happily taken was also a very prominent factor in his decision. i just know that this man is possessive as hell, even though he doesn’t show it much.
anyway. choso was shocked when you turned down his proposal. he had been so excited, but when you didn’t immediately jump into his arms saying yes his face completely changed. he looked at you wide eyed, a mix of shock and betrayal visible in his face.
because you had told him that couples take proposals, as well as weddings, very seriously. he had arranged a full on special night on your six month anniversary. so the fact that you had said no, was something that he couldn’t comprehend.
you had to explain to this man for at least 30 minutes, that typically people don’t propose to each other before at least five years, or so, of being together.
he would say things like "but why? i already know i’m going to spend the rest of my life with you." and then you would explain that maybe his feelings or yours would change over time. he would say "i know mine won’t." or "you don’t want to be with me anymore?" in a petty tone.
long story short, he waited and waited patiently. until he felt like you were comfortable enough, and he was confident enough that you would say yes.
he also asked around about when the right time to propose was. like for example, he’d go to yuji and ask if he knew anyone that was married that he could talk to about this. yuji would introduce him to whoever, like gojo or nanami, maybe even geto. but they would all say the same. that you would feel when the right time was, and that it would be a special moment.
that only confused him even more. but ether way, when he asked you it did feel really special for the both of you. and, of course, you said yes.

Love in Every Stitch
TerzOmega ~ Fluff ~ Heartwarming Domestic Bliss ~ Resurrection AU
3.5k Words
AO3 Version
"If Omega were being honest, he didn’t just like knitting because it gave him something to do. He liked it because it made him feel as though he had a way to materially provide for his family. It made him feel like he was helping out. Rationally he knew that he intrinsically had value, that he brought plenty to the table and did everything he could, but sometimes it didn’t seem like enough."
Omega channels his love for his family into a physical medium through a new hobby.
A sweet little holiday treat!!! ❄️☃️🎄✨️
CW: vague implications of pregnancy and mpreg(cis)
---
Omega and Terzo were sitting side by side on the sofa in their new quarters, six months into Terzo’s return to the realm of the living. They were finally starting to fall into a routine, to feel more normal. More safe.
“You are doing an excellent job, amore!” Terzo praised him as Omega held the needles in his hands, working his way through knitting his first scarf at a surprising pace. “My my, such a quick learner. And such talented hands…” Terzo purred, moving closer to kiss his way up Omega’s neck as his own hand moved across the ghoul’s muscled chest. Omega hummed happily. He tried to be humble, but it was true; he had always been adept with his hands, easily picking up most skills that utilized his dexterity. Knitting appeared to be no exception.
Now that the ghouls were freed from servitude, Omega had chosen to retire, making him a newly-minted househusband. They had nearly everything they had ever wanted, and Omega would never dream of complaining. However, he did find himself growing a little restless when Terzo was busy with work. Omega volunteered a lot, helping with this task or the other around the ministry. There just… never seemed to be enough for him to do now with the new chain of command in place.
“Do you really think this will help pass the time, tesoro?” Omega asked innocently, unsure of himself. Terzo’s features softened, and he planted a kiss on Omega’s cheek.
“I do not know, amore mio, but if it will give you a way to occupy those beautiful hands of yours, it is worth a shot, right?” Terzo gently took the knitting needles away from Omega, holding Omega’s hands in his, much smaller by comparison. “I am so sorry that you’ve been getting bored. I cannot help but feel responsible, I’m gone all day while you’re stuck here all alone.” He kissed each of Omega’s palms, closing his eyes and letting his lips linger. Omega gently grabbed his face, meeting him in a tender kiss.
“Why would I ever complain about having the life we’ve always wanted?” Omega took another kiss. “No more sneaking around, no more leaving before the sun is up, no more worrying about getting caught. We’re living together! That used to just be a fantasy for us.” He rubbed their noses together affectionately. “I’m fine. I promise. I just need to figure out how to handle myself when you’re not here,” Omega said, rubbing Terzo’s thigh, inching higher and higher until Terzo’s breath hitched.
They decided to set their project aside for the rest of the night.
Omega took his newfound skill and ran with it, creating afghans, pillows, dishcloths, socks, gloves, hats, scarves, cardigans, and of course, sweaters. Omega was eagerly awaiting their first Christmas together, already scheming up designs that he could bank for the coming years. While the ministry as a whole didn’t really make a big deal out of Christmas, Terzo and Omega had always privately celebrated. Truthfully, they would take any excuse to spoil each other with gifts, any reason to spend more time cozied up together.
When December 1st rolled around, Omega surprised Terzo with two matching sweaters done in the same hues of purple and gold as Terzo’s formal robes, one for each of them. They were decorated with stars and a full moon in a brilliant reflection of the night sky. He explained to Terzo that while he knew it wasn’t a traditional Christmas theme, he chose the pattern because it reminded him of the sky they’d gotten married under. Terzo cried in Omega’s arms, wearing it as much as he could get away with until Christmas was over.
They kept up the tradition, and on the third year, the month after Christmas, all of their wildest dreams finally came true: they learned that they were expecting a quintessence ghoul kit. After the initial shock and many happy tears, Omega bemoaned finding out too late to make her a Christmas sweater. Terzo reminded him that she wouldn’t have been able to wear it anyway. Still, they could have hung it up with the stockings he’d made them as a reminder of things to come, Omega had said.
With their little one on the way, Omega went into knitting overdrive. His first project was a tiny pair of baby booties and a hat with holes for the horns they could already see on the ultrasound. They were made with a soft cotton yarn, perfect for their baby’s sensitive skin, and breathable enough for her August due date. He took great joy in being able to create the first clothes his daughter would ever wear. He set to work making her a full wardrobe as best he could: rompers, overalls, cardigans, dresses, bibs, socks and leg warmers, an adorable star-shaped onesie… anything that he could find or make a pattern for. He planned for the winter, too, getting the highest quality merino wool he could get, to retain more heat.
Terzo joined in on the knitting once he went on leave to give his growing body a break, but Omega could tell that he was discouraged by how quickly the ghoul outpaced him. Omega did his best to encourage his husband, praising the beautiful pieces he created, but he could tell that Terzo found it patronizing. After a while, Terzo stopped altogether, choosing to instead curl up into Omega’s side while he worked. It made Omega’s heart ache, but he wouldn’t ask his mate to do something he no longer enjoyed.
“Terzo. You know I love cuddling with you, but I’ve been meaning to ask. Why did you stop knitting? You’re the one who taught me, you know you’re fantastic at it,” Omega asked one afternoon. He felt Terzo stiffen next to him.
“I don’t know what you mean, mio caro. I’ve just been too tired. Carrying a kit is hard work, you know.” Terzo’s tone was defensive, and Omega didn’t push the matter.
Before the birth of their first child, a little ghoul they named Starlight, Omega made the props for her newborn photoshoot: a knitted crescent moon pillow with smaller stuffed stars to arrange around her. The yarn they were made with happened to match her snow-white hair almost perfectly. They had the photos framed for their sitting room alongside the props, arranged in a shadowbox.
“How is she sleeping through this?” Terzo asked reverently as they snapped the pictures, carefully arranging her into a new pose. When they looked at each other, the awe and adoration in Terzo’s eyes made Omega’s knees weak. Satanas, Omega’s love and gratitude for his family was infinite. Omega couldn’t resist stealing a gentle kiss, trying to communicate his feelings through his lips. A tear made its way down Omega’s cheek and was quickly kissed away by his partner.
“I love you,” was all that Omega could manage to croak out in response to the other father of his child.
Halloween was upon them before they knew it. This holiday was a much bigger deal within the ministry, as was to be expected. With Starlight not even being three months old, though, they chose to stay home. That didn’t stop Omega from making her a Halloween costume, and so she was an adorable jack-o-lantern with a curly vine and two star-shaped eyes, leaving a hole for her tail as always. They got another priceless photoshoot out of it, this one staged in Primo’s garden amongst real pumpkins. She was the smallest, cutest gourd in the patch.
Omega continued to outfit Starlight as she grew. Almost as soon as she could speak, it was clear that her favorite color was pink, so Omega bought up every shade of pink yarn he could find. She would clap with delight every time her Daddy presented her with something new, driving Omega to work harder. Both of her parents knew they were spoiling her, and neither of them cared.
Their principessa’s love for stuffed animals grew almost as quickly as she did, and Omega was happy to indulge her with his own contributions. The pile of stuffed animals in her room quickly grew into a mountain, and they kept having to buy more storage for all of her toys. Terzo swore that someday she would have one of every animal.
“You know, Star is the most spoiled rotten child I have ever encountered,” her Uncle Primo remarked as he was picking the toddler up for a sleepover at his quarters one evening. He was laden with several bags full of “necessities” that Terzo had packed for her brief stay. “You’d think she was moving in!” Terzo shot him an icy glare. If Primo were bothered, he didn’t show it. Omega couldn’t help but chuckle, earning himself a glare as well.
“Just be glad that I trust you enough to take her and stop complaining, old man. Before I change my mind.” Terzo had a hard time parting with his only child, even temporarily, but Omega insisted they needed regular alone time. Especially if they had plans to grow their family. Terzo didn’t necessarily disagree, but he had serious separation anxiety.
He compensated for his lack of control over the situation by ensuring that his daughter was well taken care of. If he could only provide for her materially, then her Papa would make sure she was as prepared as possible. This included packing several changes of clothes and an abundance of toys, many of which were hand-made by Omega. Terzo took some solace in being able to send her off with the comforts of home.
Starlight was two when they found out about their second child. It was once again winter, but this time right in the middle of December. Omega got to work immediately, knitting in secret while Terzo was attending to his ministry duties during the day. On Christmas morning, Omega presented his husband with a tiny sweater. Upon seeing Terzo’s confusion, Omega explained that he had made the sweater for the newest addition to their family to wear the following year, for her first Christmas. He expressed that he simply couldn’t wait a whole year to include her in the festivities. Starlight didn’t understand why her Papa started crying, or why her Daddy soon joined in. She was pulled in for a fierce hug when she tried to comfort them.
Omega started knitting for their new kit right away. Terzo had gently suggested that they could reuse Starlight’s old clothes, but Omega would hear none of it; their second child deserved something just as personal and unique as their first did. When they were far enough along to get a more detailed scan, however, Omega had to scrap all of the hats he’d made and start over. Her horns were different than her father’s and sister’s. They curved elegantly off to the sides like a ram’s horns, meaning the holes would have to be larger and positioned differently. Omega welcomed the challenge, and when the time came to test his handiwork, they fit Astrid’s head perfectly.
“You really are so talented, amore. We are very lucky to have you,” Terzo praised, scratching between Omega’s horns. Omega’s spaded tail swished happily. If Omega were being honest, he didn’t just like knitting because it gave him something to do. He liked it because it made him feel as though he had a way to materially provide for his family. It made him feel like he was helping out. Rationally he knew that he intrinsically had value, that he brought plenty to the table and did everything he could, but sometimes it didn’t seem like enough. Being able to visualize his contributions helped. He confessed this to Terzo.
“Mio caro, what do you mean?” Terzo sounded genuinely puzzled, but not judgemental. “You gave me two beautiful children, of course you are a provider.” Omega flushed dark, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Terzo, anyone can do that…” Omega’s eyes were fixed on the floor. “I just mean… You work all day. You make the money, you keep us comfortable. Hell, you influence policies that keep all of us safe.” He took Terzo’s hands, looking deep into his eyes. “You do everything for us. I just want to be able to give something back.” Terzo’s face softened, and he took one of Omega’s hands, kissing the back of it.
“Mia ombra. You are an amazing father, and an amazing husband. You take care of our daughter, now daughters, all day. You take care of me all day. You teach and shape them in ways I cannot, because I cannot always be there. You take care of our home, make it cozy and clean and welcoming. You and these little girls that you have given me are my whole world. You are my everything,” Terzo sniffled. “Please appreciate yourself more… You do not need to do anything extra to deserve our love.”
Omega simply nodded and allowed himself to be kissed, not sure what to say and fighting back tears.
Astrid’s newborn photos were taken with similar hand-made props, again stars and a crescent moon, only this time in golden-yellow, with a dark blue backdrop. These photos and props found their way onto their sitting room walls, just like they had with her sister before her. Between the shoots, family portraits, and Starlight’s artwork, they were running out of room.
“Mm, you know we are going to run out of wall space eventually if we keep framing everything, right?” Terzo teased. Omega kissed him, nipping at his bottom lip playfully.
“Good.”
When they brought Astrid home, they gave her the blanket that Omega had made her. It was the dark blue of the night sky, decorated with yellow five-pointed stars and crescent moons. It was only as they were wrapping her up for a nap that Omega realized to his horror that he had forgotten something big: he made Astrid a baby blanket, but he had never made Starlight one! His guilt was instantaneous and all-consuming. How could he have forgotten something as crucial to a small child as their first blanket? Starlight was very attached to her store-bought fuzzy pink blanket now, it was too late to replace it… He was in quite a pickle.
For Astrid’s first Halloween, Omega made her a tiny bat costume; she was smaller than the average 4 month old, having arrived prematurely. Starlight wanted to be a lion, and of course Omega delivered. They took the girls around the ministry, participating in the trick-or-treating and child-friendly festivities that Frater Copia had instated during his reign for the couple dozen children who resided within the ministry halls. The adorable costumes seemed to soften the hearts of even the most hateful clergy members, the ones who still harbored disdain for ghouls even after they had been given their freedom. Omega took great pride in showing off their beautiful half-human children to those judgmental old fools.
For Christmas that year, Omega themed all of their sweaters around the one he’d made Astrid the previous year, before her arrival. Astrid’s sweater fit a little roomy due to her early arrival, but she cooed happily in it nonetheless.
To make up for Starlight’s lack of a handmade baby blanket, Omega decided to knit a large afghan for her big-girl bed. The base was white, but it was adorned with five-pointed stars much like her sister’s was. They were done in a full rainbow across the blanket, Starlight’s second favorite “color” behind pink. Omega thought it suited her bright personality perfectly. It took months of work, but it was finally done just in time for her fourth birthday.
Seeing as Omega was a stay-at-home dad, he was unable to hide the project from Starlight, but when she received it as a gift, she was overjoyed. For days she wore it around the house like a cape, dragging the ground behind her. Omega was glad that it was washable. They tucked her into bed with it every night.
“I love you, Daddy,” Starlight told him with a wet kiss on the cheek upon receiving her gift. Omega felt lightheaded, like he was in a dream. Like this life couldn't possibly be so perfect and real and his. He returned the sentiment and the kisses tenfold, not caring if it was a dream or not.
Music had always been prevalent in their home, with Omega and Terzo regularly playing and singing together. First they played for themselves, and later, for their girls, even before they were born. Terzo in particular was a fan of musical theater, and he passed that love down to his children. Starlight’s favorite movie was the 1998 version of Cats; she had been humming and singing along as best she could since before she’d turned three.
Over time, those sing-alongs turned into dance-alongs, and eventually full-blown productions. She would recruit Astrid and her Papa to perform with her, something that neither of them minded. It was only when Omega had the bright idea of making them hats with cat ears that Terzo protested.
“Now this is just silly,” Terzo whined. “I look ridiculous!” The giggles of the girls didn’t help the matter.
“Pease, Papa?” Starlight begged. “It makes the show more realistic!” Terzo grumbled, wondering out loud how exactly a cat in a beanie was realistic, but he went along with it anyway, if only to please his girls.
In the winter of the year of Omega and Terzo’s wedding vow renewal, when their children were nine and six years old, Omega could tell that Terzo had something up his sleeve. Terzo had been staying at work late, always coming home more tired than usual. Omega was too secure in his marriage now to suspect something like infidelity; he knew Terzo’s heart too well for that. But when they connected through Omega’s quintessence, Omega could tell that Terzo was hiding something, was walling something off from him. It was a skill that Terzo acquired only somewhat recently, one that he rarely used.
December 1st rolled around, and Omega gifted each family member a matching Christmas sweater; this year’s theme was snowmen. This time, though, Terzo had something for Omega as well. To Omega’s shock, Terzo presented him with a sweater of his own. It was a starry night sky with a big full moon, done in the same style and colors as the first pair of sweaters that Omega ever made for their growing family. However, this one had a few additions: four five-pointed stars, each in colors Omega knew to be the favorites of his children and husband respectively. Pink for Starlight, blue for Astrid, purple for Terzo, and green for Omega. A very specific shade of green: the green of Terzo’s eye, the eye he’d passed down to Astrid as well. Omega reached for it with trembling hands, careful not to snag it with his claws.
“Terzo, h…how did you…?” Omega stammered, struggling to find his voice as his mouth hung open. Terzo smiled at him warmly, his eyes soft.
“I have been working on it in my office. It is why I’ve been gone late so many nights,” Terzo explained. He put a hand on Omega’s shoulder. “You are always doing so much for us… I wanted to try and give back a fraction of what you give away so selflessly. It is not enough, and it is not perfect, but I know how much it affected you when I stopped knitting with you. I was thinking… maybe we could start again. Together.” He took Omega’s hand, twining their fingers together.
Omega pulled him in for a watery kiss, tears streaming freely down his face. Terzo buried his free hand in Omega’s hair, bringing him closer. He heard Astrid start to ask what was wrong, but she was quickly shushed by her sister. Omega couldn’t help but chuckle through the kiss; Starlight had witnessed too many emotional scenes like this in her years to be concerned. She knew her parents were ok. They just needed a moment.
When they finally broke apart, Omega took Terzo’s face in his hands, kissing his forehead. Terzo leaned into his touch.
“I love you so much, tesoro,” was all that he could say. They took two sets of photos that year, one in their matching sweaters, and the other with Omega in the sweater that Terzo made for him. Omega had one lingering question, though.
“How did you find the right shade of green? It really is a perfect match!” Omega was thrilled to have something so close to the color of the eye he would happily spend eternity staring into. Terzo’s grin was sheepish.
“Ah, it was, eh… a lot of staring in the mirror, and a lot of trial and error. A lot of returned yarn.” Terzo shrugged. Omega nuzzled against his face.
For the rest of the month, Omega alternated between wearing the sweater that Terzo made him and the one he’d made himself. Terzo needed to gently talk him into retiring it once the season was over. It was never forgotten, though. In fact, Terzo kept everything that Omega, and now he, ever made, organized by year and sealed away from damage. They would periodically go through them together and reminisce. They hoped that one day, their grandchildren would appreciate the love that was poured into every stitch as much as they did.
