wait until you find out what he says in the official netflix polish version, because this is insane

just walk this out with me. they've changed the "would" from a transition form of the modal verb "will" and said it in present tense. the most present there is. he's not thinking about being a ghost and not having senses. he says i miss kissing, right now to edwin, looking at him shyly and smiling.

do not even get me started on the profound meaning of the word "brakuje mi [czegoś]", which etymologically could be translated to "i lack [something.]" it's missing something with a slight emphasis on the emptiness that creates itself in you, not the longing. personally i'd say it's more urgent than, for example, "tęsknić" [to miss something in the wistful sense].

but that's not all, no sire, because polish subtitles charles, the bi-king of all come ons who's really trying to score here, adds unashamedly, "and do you?"

I think the other thing i love about Conclave is some of my favorite poets and writers are queer people who are/have been profoundly devoutly religious like the moment i found out benjamin alire sáenz went to monastery and was on track to becoming a priest before becoming a writer I was just like "Aha! You can tell Alien Covenant was made by people who never left some very niche bubbles, because all of the futuristic exploration technology looks like it was designed by Apple and Elon Musk, with zero indication of regular human use or even any involvement of an actual person with technical knowledge. Also the "alien landscape" looks like pretty much any forest from the Rockies westward, leading me to believe they don't travel much or even look at pictures from other places. Plus it just shits the bed instantly opening on what's supposed to be a genius ceo, which we all know is a complete fiction.

It would work incredibly well if it was meant to be a grim satire of future capitalism, but it's pretty clear the whole thing is someone's idea of futuristic. The twenty five percent of it's that's any good is exclusively composed of material meant to remind the viewer of Alien, which comes off like "hey remember that other, better movie you liked?"

The term shameless money-grab is appropriate for this kind of movie because everyone should have been too ashamed to make it.

i've always wanted to know what catra can hear melog saying to her in these scenes since she's the only one who can understand them. i know this doesn't count since it's just me making up shit i imagine is the kinda stuff melog could be saying - except kinda silly hah. but i couldn't help it. had to make it. tbh, there may be other versions of this in the future idk tho lol we'll see~
