#one piece #sanji #black leg sanji #everysanji #sbs #this is going to be entirely unrelated to the sbs above here bc i havent seen reservoir dogs #but i feel like i havent done a little tag life update in a minute #as of time of queuing this the season has been going for about a week #work hasnt been too bad we're normally done closing by like 3:45 but we still have to wait for the bus #which doesnt leave until almost 5 which. i get it.#like the lifties dont get done til after 4 and same with retail and such #bc rentals arent due until 4:15 so they have to stay open for at least that long #but man its not fun just chilling in the lodge for over an hour until the busses start loading #but the work is fine i'm enjoying it enough #hopefully by the time this posts i'll have been able to start taking my ski lessons which i'm super excited for #i want to learn to ski so so bad #also!! i managed to befriend one of the ski instructors on accident #he's from the same area i am as well so we talked a lot about that lol #but he's sweet i like talking to him #i made a comment about how my brother was getting so old bc he turns 18 in june and he went #so what does that make me #sorry but you are 21 you are baby to me (a whole 24 years old)#the difference is i've known my brother for his whole life and you for all of like. three days #but yeah that's mod's life so far its been chill #but man i get winded just climbing the stairs up to the lodge every morning #tbf we are at like. 11000 feet above sea level so like #the air is suuuuuuuuper thin #also we're right along the continental divide too #its beautiful 10/10 would recommend #also editing this on 11/21 to add the steve buschemi screengrab

something that will never fail to be amusing to me is when an mdzs college au needs the name of a professor, and then suddenly shen qingqiu is there

#ah yes professor shen we all know him #would love to see a fic that is like. largely focused on whatever mdzs characters are thrown into the college au setting #but you get the impression there's some kind of b-plot happening just off screen #where shen-laoshi is having some kind of weird drama with his former TA #or even just like. in the middle of class or office hours or something #professor shen's absurdly beautiful husband shows up to deliver him lunch #im imagining wwx going into office hours or something #and his brain to mouth filter completely fails him and he makes some comment like damn shen-laoshi's got game!#sqq regrets every decision he's ever made and lbh is having to remind himself that he's not allowed to kill his husband's students #anyway. i think it's silly and i enjoy it #i mostly only see it with sqq but i did read a fic once where one of the random jin kids bullying jin ling #was named luo bingbing and i was like ??#i don't think it was a reference to him but it felt like too strong of a coincidence #i think more scum villain characters should be random background characters in mdzs aus. it's very funny #sqh and jgy work in the same accounting firm or something #lqg is jc's personal trainer. idk.

i see a lot of people saying it’s just men on youtube playing mouthwashing and not picking up on the implications of what happened to anya but i’ve been going out of my way to watch women playing it and uh. so far it’s proven to be a pretty gender neutral thing

#the only playthrough i’ve seen so far where they immediately understand is pixel partners. also i just enjoyed that one a lot #i mean just bc people don’t openly acknowledge it doesn’t necessarily mean they didn’t get it but #a lot of people i’ve watched play it (women included) made a comment like #‘oh i guess jimmy and anya were in a relationship and just never mentioned it and jimmy doesnt want to be a parent’#mouthwashing #not really trying to make a point here just. mentioning i guess??#and also maybe hoping for recommendations for any other good playthroughs #bc this game blew up and there are so many on youtube #i dont wanna watch every single one haha

I don't understand why people say "Go read about Helena instead of Jason!" I really don't. If I'm in the mood for stories of a Gotham vigilante with resurrection themes and issues with Bruce as a failed parental figure I'm going to read about Jason and Cass.

Jason & Helena are…two Gotham vigilantes who are willing to kill. That’s uh…that’s about it. Helena gives us more mafia focused stories, and has not been dead for realsies or dealt with as much magical bullshit as these two.

Now, you know who Helena does parallel? Bruce motherfucking Wayne.

Came from wealthy Gotham families? Yep. At age eight, witnessed their parents’ murder? Specifically with guns? Yep. Voluntarily pursued martial arts training in their youths, outside Gotham, and then stepped up to be independent vigilantes as adults once they came home, financing it with their inherited wealth? Yep.

Have been members of the fucking Justice League? Yep. May take orders from team leaders (and be cranky about it) but have never actually been anyone’s sidekick? Yep.

Helena has more in common with Bruce than she does with Dick, let alone Jason.

“Why focus on Jason when you could focus on Helena?” That’s like asking why I’m focusing on Jason instead of Bruce. "Willing to kill" and "refuses to kill (when in right mind)" are important traits to the characters personally, but they are not the be all end all of these characters, their stories, and themes.

Man I’m having such a hard time writing. When I was writing fanfic all the comments I’d get really kept me going (and the comments I get on my original work send me into orbit with how much I love them!!) but without that same influx of people showing interest I’m all in my head like is this not good enough? What if my ideas suck actually? And I keep gettin roadblocked by my own brain telling me that what I’m writing isn’t worth it q-p

does anyone else have a fic that is their most popular, but you don’t want it to be, because you don’t think it deserves it, and you have better stuff, and while ofc you are grateful that people like something you wrote, it’s almost annoying that for some reason That one is the most popular. lmao

#for me it’s this like time travel shenanigans ml fic called Why Are You Like This #which I had a ton of fun writing and I like the fic #but I also tend to forget about it lol #and then I see that it’s my most popular one and I’m like ‘not but this isn’t even in my top 5 favorite fics I’ve written. why’ hdjsjs #it’s probably closer to the bottom of the top 10? and I do not have that many fics hahaha #I remember rooting so hard for tell me something I don’t know to surpass it in kudos #which it eventually DID and I was so happy #but then later WAYLS passed up tms again lol #and I was slightly annoyed to realize that WAYLS was my first to break 5k kudos #while tms still hasn’t #it’s very close tho I need like. 2 more #ok ok sorry this definitely sounds super entitled DHDKDK #I promise I am VERY grateful for every fic interaction!! every kudos or comment I’ve ever received!!#thank you thank you to anyone who has ever read my stuff💜#I just think this is kind of funny #cause I keep scratching my head wondering why that one is the top fic #I think ppl just rly enjoy time travel stuff?#also I did it as a gift for yunyin based on one of her comics so that probably boosted it haha #anyway

i just want everyone to know that i read and adore every comment on my works on ao3, and while i WANT to reply to them all individually, i often struggle to keep up (which is not to say that i get so many comments, i can't keep up with them all, i just don't often have the spoons to reply until 3 months later when they've all piled up)

so i recognize that i have to stop kidding myself into thinking i can reply to them all but just know that i read them all (i still have notifications for comments turned on) and i love them and i love you

i will admit that my first reaction to hearing they were making a beetlejuice sequel was big eyeroll, moreso when learning that they were using the original cast rather than making a reboot, but i finally watched the trailer and............ yeah, i think that's my trash

#is beetlejuice (1988) especially good? ...no comment. was the cartoon good? for a 90s schlocky toon i think so but also no comment #is the musical good? ...it's COMPLICATED (i have opinions but also i love it)#is it a foundational part of my personality? Undeniable #(were the reams of fanfic i read in the aughts good? ...yes. but also VERY MUCH no comment.)#basically. No this franchise does not have to be good for me to enjoy it and in fact. for the most part. It is not Objectively High Quality #i can't deny that maggie mae fish was right about it in that one video essay #HOWEVER. it is every nerd's god given right to go too hard for whatever trashy thing they loved at age 17 for the rest of their lives
