Okay so apparently kids these days don't know how to be safe online because their parents are fucking stupid and don't know anything about the internet!!!
So I'm gonna tell you teenagers how to be safe and not get abused because there is no shortage of predators on the internet. I'm gonna go from super basic things you can do to keep yourself safe to more specific instances where a predator may be trying to groom you that you can recognize. Remember though; if you are abused or have been abused it is not your fault. You deserve protection and you deserve respect as a minor, regardless of how you spend your time on the internet. Victim blaming helps nobody but predators, but there are ways you can protect yourself, even though you shouldn't always have to.
Basic tips:
DO NOT SHARE YOUR REAL NAME
DO NOT SHARE YOUR AGE
DO NOT SHARE WHERE YOU LIVE
DO NOT SHARE PHOTOS OR VIDEOS OF YOURSELF
DO NOT SHARE PHOTOS OF YOUR HOUSE
IT IS OKAY TO BLOCK WHOEVER YOU WANT, WHENEVER YOU WANT, REGARDLESS OF THE REASON.
Don't sacrifice your safety, comfort, or peace of mind just for someone else's feelings! Especially a stranger! Also, if you think something is off, it probably is. You need to trust your gut. SPEAK UP! Tell a trusted friend, sibling, or adult! I'm sure you've heard the phrase "silence is violence" -- this phrase goes for abuse as well! Unsafe people want you to stay quiet so they can continue to harm you or others. It is not inherently problematic to have friends who are adults, in fact it is healthy and helpful to have friends who are older than you, however we live in a world where you cannot trust many adults, so you need to be cautious of adults you encounter at all times, including ones you know well or are well known by others. It is also not inherently problematic to be asked many of the questions above, but it is important to ask yourself whether or not you want to give that information to the person asking. If not, simply tell them that you do not give out that information and redirect the conversation, or block if you feel uncomfortable.
MOST IMPORTANTLY, DO NOT INSERT YOURSELF INTO ADULT SPACES.
I know it is tempting, especially with the way hormones effect judgement and your emotions, and we all want to be included, but inserting yourself into spaces you know you should not be by lying about your age is incredibly unsafe and leads to horrible situations that aren't always easy to get out of. This includes adult fandom spaces, websites, searching adult topics, NSFW blogs or accounts, and even group chats. Even if your friends invite you to these spaces, it does not mean you should neglect your safety to be accepted. It's okay and encouraged to say no. You will thank yourself when you get older!
More Specific Tips:
YOU SHOULDN'T PUT YOUR MENTAL ILLNESSES OR DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES IN YOUR BIOS ON YOUR ACCOUNTS.
Awareness and solidarity for mental illness and disabilities is very important, however predators are more likely to go after people who may have a more difficult time discerning what is normal and what is not in social situations, especially when speaking to an authority figure like an adult. Do not make yourself a target by listing the ways you struggle with social cues, understanding rules and safety, or communication. It is okay to seek solidarity, but there are predators seeking out disabled and mentally ill youths to abuse.
DO NOT OFFER INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR SCHOOL ON THE INTERNET.
It is dangerous to release information about your whereabouts in any capacity on the internet, especially your school where you are doubly putting your peers and classmates in danger as well. If you come into contact or into the orbit of a predator that is bent on finding you or meeting you, your school is a public place where one may feel brazen enough to pretend they know you. Even if other kids are doing it by posting fight videos or even innocent videos, doesn't mean you should.
JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE INSISTS THEY'RE A SAFE PERSON DOES NOT MEAN THAT THEY ARE.
People lie on the internet all the time, including in some really bizarre and meaningless ways, but there will always be people who lie to get closer to someone to make them a victim. Just because someone tells you they are against abuse or even if they advocate against it does not mean that they themselves are a safe person. Predators will do anything they can to get you to trust them, and while predators are usually very pushy and want things to go quickly, some will take their time to groom you.
!!!!BIG RED FLAGS!!!!
IF YOU SEE ANY OF THIS BEHAVIOR, RUN! BLOCK AND REPORT PEOPLE WHO DO THESE THINGS FOR YOUR SAFETY! IT'S NEVER WORTH STICKING AROUND THESE KINDS OF PEOPLE!
THEY CONTINUALLY SEND YOU SEXUALLY EXPLICIT MATERIAL, INCLUDING FANART, FANFIC, AND VIDEOS.
THEY TELL YOU AGE IS JUST A NUMBER, OR LOVE HAS NO AGE.
THEY EXPRESS THE OPINION THAT MINORS CAN CONSENT TO SEXUAL ACTIVITY.
THEY CONSTANTLY MAKE "JOKES" ABOUT MINORS IN A SEXUAL WAY OR ABOUT BEING ATTRACTED TO MINORS.
THEY EMPHASIZE THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING "LEGAL" AT THE AGE OF 18 OR FIXATE ON AGE OF CONSENT LAWS.
THEY GET ANGRY AT YOU FOR SETTING A BOUNDARY OR IF YOU MENTION TELLING YOUR PARENTS.
THEY ENJOY "LOLI" OR "SHOTA" MATERIAL OR ENTHUSE ABOUT THOSE TYPES OF CHARACTERS.
THEY CALL YOU PET NAMES THAT YOU AREN'T COMFORTABLE WITH, EVEN WHEN YOU TELL THEM NOT TO.
THEY ASK YOU HIGHLY PERSONAL QUESTIONS ABOUT SEXUAL ACTIVITY, YOUR PERIODS, OR MASTURBATION.
THEY TELL YOU THAT YOU'RE MATURE FOR YOUR AGE, OR THAT YOU'RE NOT LIKE OTHER KIDS BECAUSE YOU'RE MORE ADULT THAN THEY ARE.
THEY ASK YOU TO SEND PHOTOS OR VIDEOS OF YOURSELF DOING SEXUALLY CHARGED THINGS, WHICH INCLUDES DANCING OR STRIPPING, OR SPECIFIC PARTS OF YOUR BODY.
THEY KEEP STEERING THE CONVERSATION IN A SEXUAL DIRECTION. THIS INCLUDES ROLEPLAY!
NONE OF THIS BEHAVIOR IS NORMAL. IT IS NOT NORMAL FOR AN ADULT TO ASK HIGHLY PERVASIVE QUESTIONS OR TO BECOME PUSHY OR ANGRY IF YOU EXPRESS DISCOMFORT. BLOCK AND REPORT THESE TYPE OF PEOPLE, THEY EXHIBIT BEHAVIOR CONSISTENT WITH SEXUAL ABUSE PATTERNS.
Adults and Minors alike please feel free to reblog. It is imperative that young people who don't know these things learn them, because the only thing a predator hates more than a jail cell is a minor who cannot be abused.

The 2nd bunch of sprunki designs c: More headcanons under the cut-
Also I may just tag this an an AU at this point (Also to maybe not step on any toes >-<; -) because man… Love coming up with the weird ass setting these guys are in which will probably be explained when I get to Mr. Sun’s design. But the short of it is they all live in an isolated little suburban town with a pretty small population (everyone knows each other to some extent.) and that there are other populations of Sprunkis and stuff such as large cities and rural villages.
OWAKCX
29 He/Him
- Was an accountant traveling to another city.
- Fell off a cliff near the town and sustained head and spinal injuries whilst on the phone. Vineria found him and took him into the town’s clinic to keep him from dying.
- Listed in the town’s documents as “OWAKCX” due to him unfortunately having difficulty speaking post-accident when asked what his name is. His speech has improved significantly since but has issues with volume control and a tic of making a loud startling sounds.
- His actual name is Ozwalt but accepted at this point that everyone calls him OWAKC. “Sure is a name” he says.
- Does not want to go back to the city he lives in due to how long he assumes he’s been gone. Most likely presumed dead.
- Clunkr and Garnold had made him his wheelchair. Said wheelchair can go very fast much to OWAKCX’s inital terror when first using it. Now he’s quite good at speeding across places (it took a bit.).
- Is a bit high strung and easily startled at times. Has bit someone in a panic before and apologized right after.
- Can get a bit snarky and sarcastic, joked about Raddy’s ability to hammer nails (Hits them too hard and they bend,) and got clocked in the head with the hammer he was using. He knows a bit better not to snark Raddy anymore.
- Lives with Vineria in her greenhouse/normal house, He helps her file her taxes and documents for free… Its repayment for literally saving his life. Everyone else has to pay him if they want him to do that for them, Mostly to keep his workload low and so nobody else asks.
- Chronically grits and grinds his teeth and shakes like a cold chihuahua even when under a blanket.
- Had an alt rock phase in high school that is slowly coming back…Not fashion wise but he is blasting it straight into his ears as he works.
Vineria
27 She/them
- Moved to the town because she wanted to have her own greenhouse to grow a variety of plants. Including weed
- Has gotten in trouble in her previous residence for seed bombing golf courses and smoking in her apartment.
- Very chill and laid back.
- Likes to climb trees and go on nature walks.
- Has tasted moss out of curiosity while watching over brud, has gone on record going “mhm not bad!” but tries to give him more normally edible plants.
- Naturally bald, used to just wear a beanie before her wigs.
- Found her first plant wig in the woods near town. Has been raising the same kinds of plants for her other plant wigs though the first one is her favorite and most worn.
- Helps out occasionally at the town clinic after she brought OWAKCX in, Mostly because she wanted to make sure she could check up on him while he recovered.
- Actually calls OWAKCX “Oz” instead as she knows his actual name.
- Has given plants and saplings to people as housewarming gifts.
brud
21 He/They
- Was once in foster care and a group home due to being abandoned, Had ran off when he had aged out of the system.
- Cannot feel pain, This had caused issues such as chewing his tongue to the point of it being a stub and scratching at himself without realizing he’s hurting himself. Has since been trying to be more careful and wears gloves and long sleeves over his hands to deter the picking and scratching.
- Can talk but not very clearly, Prefers to nod or shake his head or if really needed- To sign in sign language or write down what he wants to say. Also squeaks in excitement and whimpers when sad.
- Has terrible eyesight due to his eyes facing separate directions.
- Has a bucket over his sharp single horn to stop it from hurting other people and because he likes the bucket.
- Is a sort of permanent resident at the clinic due to his condition and tendency to get injured
- Hangs out with Simon the most out of the clinic staff. They’re besties.
- Likes earthy tastes which is why he eats moss sometimes.
- Gets mistaken for a child by newer residents.
- Loves to hug people and being hugged
Tunner
56 He/him
- The town’s sheriff who patrols around to help others, Likely gives new people tours. Did this as a hobby for a bit until he was officially given the role.
- Lives a bit farther in the outskirts, Likes his peace and quiet. This is also near Jevin and Sky’s caravan.
- Used to live in a desert town where he was a street performer who played the guitar and fended for himself until he could afford a gun and leave that place.
- Has an old horse named Cornbread who he rode into the town, she can be found grazing near his house.
- Very talkative, specifically loves telling stories about his adventures before he settled down though they tend to get long winded and embellished depending on whether or not he’s trying to make himself sound cooler/ Trying to impress someone. Jevin
- Has lost a tooth in a fight a long time ago and got a gold tooth to replace it. How he lost it in the fight changes every time he retells the story.

siambre's fanfiction master list
hi!!! just wanted to make a list of all the fics i've written so far in case anyone's interested. beware that 99% of them are ZUTARA, so please don't come for my neck if that's not your cup of tea :) i'll try to keep the info up to date and add new fics if/when i write any. the list is below the cut 🌸
WIPs
Through Fire and Vows - zutara | rated E | currently at 22.6k words | arranged marriage, enemies to lovers, slow burn, hurt/comfort | TW: minor character deaths (including children), dubious consent, graphic violence, suicidal thoughts, mourning
Zuko never held a pivotal position in the royal family. He was just the son of Fire Lord Azulon’s secondborn, and brother of Azula, the prodigy. To most, he was nothing more than some entitled guy they had to tolerate, so insignificant that nobody really protested when a Water Tribe bride was deemed suitable for him. Yet he soon finds himself kneeling behind his father at the Coronation Plaza, draped in white funeral robes for the second time that month while the nation hails their new Fire Lord. Now, as the unwanted heir with a foreign wife, he must navigate the deadly politics of the Fire Nation court to survive.
The Ocean of Flames - zutara | rated M | currently at 38.8k words | prisoner katara au, harem au (with a twist), slow burn, enemies to lovers, hurt/comfort | TW: child abuse, alcoholism, suicidal thoughts, referenced pedophilia, referenced sexual assault
After Aang is shot with lightning, Katara gives herself up to the Fire Nation to protect him. Meanwhile, Zuko grapples with the consequences of betraying his uncle and a certain waterbender who had once trusted him. Neither are aware that their destinies are intertwined, nor that their paths will cross again in the most unlikely of places — the Fire Nation Royal Harem.
one-shots
The One That Got Away - zutara | rated T | 2k words | unrequited love, heavy angst, inspired by lotustiled's art
The early autumn is warm in Ba Sing Se, but that’s not why it feels like he's on fire. No, his reason came in the shape of a gorgeous girl with bright ocean eyes and an even brighter smile. It’s the way her laugh is the most beautiful sound he’s ever heard that has his stomach flipping—the way he knows he’s the luckiest person on the planet, even for a brief moment, when she’s merely explaining him the ingredients of a Southern Water Tribe soup. Because he’s about to ask her out, and he’s not ready for it whatsoever.
Your Wish Is My Command - zutara | rated E | 5.8k words | smut with a sprinkle of plot
Ruling a war-torn nation is no easy task. Both Zuko and Katara had known this when they’d signed up for the roles of Fire Lord and Lady. Yet, even a decade later, they still struggle with balancing their private and professional lives. So one night, while Zuko is going over some documents in his study, Katara pays him a visit to make up for their lost weeks of intimacy.
A Diplomatic Interlude - mor x hellion from ACOTAR | rated E | 4.4k words | smut
Both Mor and Helion are weary after the tense meeting of the High Lords. Yet, even after everyone has excused themselves for the night, they keep sitting together in the living area, talking and drinking. That is, until Helion makes her an offer she cannot refuse. This is the tale of what happened on the night Mor and Helion went to her bedroom in 'A Court of Wings and Ruin'.
Yours Lovingly, Zuko - zutara | rated G | 532 words | fluff, love letters
Centuries after the Hundred-Year War has ended, Fire Lord Zuko is renowned for his accomplishments during the war—but more than that, his name is now synonymous with being romantic due to the mountains of beautifully written love letters historians have found in his personal archives. A student in Ba Sing Se High School reads one such letter and fawns over it. Little does she know, Zuko was just one big turtleduck that had absolutely zero romantic skills.
Unspoken Conversations - zutara | rated G | 1k words | fluff
After Mai unwittingly opens an old wound, newly appointed Ambassador Katara shares a comforting moment with one of her dearest friends.
on indefinite hiatus

I absolutely love your Vrains analyses and I honestly can't wait for you to reach season 3.
I was wondering what you thought of the character of Spectre? Out of the whole cast, he's the one I really can't pinpoint how I feel about. (Beside the obvious fact that this kid needs therapy, I know they all do, but THIS ONE REALLY DOES.)
To be honest... Spectre is just really funny to me LMAO
My guy was raised by a tree. As a BABY. No food, no water, no body heat. There's probably ants crawling all over him. The tree scares away wolves who try to eat him, because they're probably like Oh shit, did that tree just fucking move???
This is peak Yugioh. Who put this Giving Tree-ass backstory into a hard sci-fi card game anime? Give them a raise. Where is Spectre's tree mom going on the Yugioh parent tier list?
Besides the funniness of staying connected to tree mom through card games, I like his Sunavalon deck. The Spectre vs. Lightning duel fucking ruled. From a gameplay perspective, it's one of the best in all of Yugioh. The reverse extra link? Stealing Judgment Arrows? This duel goes incredibly hard for no reason and definitely made me like Spectre more.
So yeah, those are my prevailing thoughts on Spectre, he's just not very important in my mind. If I were to take a more in-depth look at him, though...
I actually disagree with the premise that all of the kids need therapy, but I especially disagree that Spectre especially needs therapy. It's pretty explicit in the text, that Spectre is better off because of the Lost Incident.
Yusaku: If you endured the same hell as me-- Spectre: Hell? What do you mean? Am I different? I guess so, from your point of view Spectre: I grew up in an orphanage. I lacked the ability to mingle with others. Even among people, I was always bored and alone. That's when that incident occurred. Finally, I was entertained. Yusaku: The Lost Incident entertained you? Spectre: Yes, I enjoyed it. Even if I could go home, loneliness and boredom awaited me. Nobody would talk to me. Nobody cared about me. But it was different in that room. Someone was testing me. Someone expected big things from me. When I realized that, I felt the will to live for the first time. Spectre: You probably can't understand. Because if the incident hurt you, you must have led a happy life before. Yusaku: You don't hate the Knights of Hanoi? Spectre: Hate? Revolver-sama gave me a place to belong. Am I strange? But I think you're stranger, loudly proclaiming your sense of justice. Yusaku: Due to that incident, time has stopped moving for me. Spectre: But due to that incident, it started moving for me.
Spectre is characterized as someone who's fundamentally different from other people (maybe because he was RAISED BY A TREE), and this is the case long before getting kidnapped. He's not crazy because of the Lost Incident, and he might not even be crazy at all. He has what he wants, he's happy, he's just happy in a way that normal people, including the audience, cannot understand.
In the above conversation, Spectre is very aware of how he is strange to others, questioning multiple times, "Am I different?" "Am I strange?" Despite being unlike others, he has the capacity to understand how others think and live, and because of that, how they see him. He's actually very discerning, in general, about the perspectives of others; this is how he's able to manipulate Aoi in their duel, and how he easily recognizes Lightning's secret.
Because that's one way of coping with a world of people very different from you -- getting very good at understanding people who would not put forth the same energy to try and understand you. That's what happens in that conversation with Yusaku. Spectre is able to recognize that he is strange to Yusaku, and why. Even though to him, Yusaku is the one who's strange. But he doesn't say that either of them is "right," just that they have different perspectives.
Now, is all of that what the Vrains writers were thinking when they made him?
Uh, maybe I'm just cold and dead inside, but I think they mostly just wanted to make their antagonist seem like a crazy psycho who believes he was raised by a tree and enjoyed getting kidnapped.
Because if I were writing a story about a character who feels alienated by what other people consider normal, I don't think I would have gone the route of, "Some people actually enjoy trauma! It makes them feel important!" I mean, you could incorporate that into a story about how different people experience trauma differently, but, I dunno, these would not be my first choices if I was trying to write a nuanced character exploration.
I also would not go the route of dedicating his entire life to Revolver, and if I did, I would actually develop their relationship.
I wish Revolver had more of a relationship with the Knights of Hanoi in general, which could have actually fleshed out his character. All of them, including Spectre, are just loyal yes-men who do whatever he says. Any scene with them may as well be Revolver monologuing by himself, because they don't bring anything of their own to the table. It just makes both Revolver and the Knights less interesting to me.
There's various other areas in which Spectre could have been better utilized too. Like I said in the Aoi post, it would have been interesting if they actually built on the themes explored in that duel, and had some recurring interactions. I also would have liked to see him actually interact with Earth, and his actual perspective on the Ignis and the AI vs. humans conflict.
To be honest though, not every character in Yugioh has to be a main character. So while all these things may be interesting to explore in theory, I think Spectre is mostly fine the way he is in canon: funny tree man.

Okay, but let's consider something even funnier:
Reader is this fucked up little feral goblin creature, similar to Nifty, except you CANNOT leave them be to their own devices, otherwise they WILL cause CHAOS worse than extermination does.
And, being the feral little creature that they are, they get distracted easily. So the Hell folks just have to find ways to keep their attention, like throwing shiny rocks at them, or jingling a bell. Heck, maybe they even make Husker wear a collar with a bell so they could keep reader at bay
If you wanna know what inspired this, I came across a clip on YouTube that was titled "Markiplier jingles you" and I found it hilariously funny. So yeah XD
Hazbin Hotel with Reader Crazier Than Niffty
I couldn't think of an actual storyline for this, so here's a list of scenarios
• Nobody really knew where you came from. It was like you spawned in and suddenly started living at the hotel
• You were tiny, almost as tiny as Niffty, and twice as insane
• You didn't really care about killing the bugs that ran around. In fact, sometimes you were the one to release them
• You were a big fan of pulling "pranks", but those pranks usually included nearly burning the hotel down
• You're just about the only person willing to push Niffty down the stairs when she asks
• Alastor didn't really offer you a deal, you just asked if you could work for him
• He agreed, but didn't realize that working for him meant he'd never get rid of you
• You put googly eyes on everything. EVERYTHING
• You tried biting Vaggie's wings when they grew back. She kicked you across the room
• You never pay attention, something shiny always catching your eye
• You really like little noises, though
• Alastor decided to put a bell on Husk
• He wore a collar anyway, and bells were just shiny little things that made nice noises. The plan was foolproof
• You did try to steal the bell on occasion (Husk didn't appreciate you scaling him to grab it)
• You're useful when it comes to eavesdropping (you really like hiding in the vents. It's the only time you're quiet)
• You weren't very helpful, but Angel liked having you around because at least you were funny

Dangancember 2024 - Danganronpa Top 24 Class Trials: Number 17 Danganronpa Another Case 2
//Oh man...
//I'm gonna get in trouble, aren't I?
//Also wow, Yuki is staring REAL hard at Ayame's boobs in that image, isn't he?
//Alright, but forget that...
//I understand that this case is very popular. And believe me when I say that this is is a really good trial to me as well, and I really did enjoy it.
//What you have to understand is that we're in the area of the list where we're talking about the trials that I actually think are decent, and I have more positives to say about them than negatives. But with that said, I still have some negatives, and personally speaking, I think that this trial is kind of overrated.
//Something I notice is that opinions on the trials in the DR series are usually pretty common across the games. Most people, myself included, universally agree that the Case 3's are generally bad why the Case 4's are some of the most spectacular mysteries in the series.
//With Case 2, it's more of a dice roll. I definitely like Kizuna and Ayame's case WAY better than I like Mahiru and Peko's or Kokoro and Emma's, but FAR FAAAR less than I like Ryoma and Kirumi's and Chihiro and Mondo's.
//My biggest issue I think is generally the same big issue I had with 2-2 and A2-2. Especially considering the trial has some very similar story beats and moments.
//As I mentioned with 2-2, the pacing was awful, because the mystery itself is so simple in practice, but it gets derailed on pointless tangents and only around 30% of the trial itself is dedicated to the mystery. This is kind of the same, though not nearly as bad.
//The entire first half of the trial is trying to figure out the logistics and order of events with the case, and ultimately, it's concluded that Akane Taira is the culprit. Then the next quarter of the trial is trying to figure out how she did it, only for that to conclude in being a red herring.
//Then the rest of the trial immediately shifts focus onto Ayame Hatano being Kizuna's killer, and I feel like we didn't dedicate nearly enough time to her and her interruptions in the case. We kind of just said, "she did this, this is where things don't add up, KICK HER!"
//Makes a weird case when the vast majority of the trial is talking about everything that Akane did, and how Kizuna ended up dying, and only a small fraction of it is dedicated to the ACTUAL crime and how things played out.
//There's also the fact that it didn't need to be this long and drawn out, because considering Ayame's motive for killing Kizuna, she could have deflected the blame away from Akane at any time. And yes, I know that Ayame did have her own agenda behind her actions, but the general point of why she did was she did was to save Akane. To not see her jump to her defence.
//Besides that, there are a few other issues I have with this trial. I think the main one of those issues is the fact that the "decisive evidence" just really ISN'T decisive whatsoever.
//The wiretrap is the best example, because the way it was handled in this was kind of dumb. Not only does Ayame's use of it backfire massively because she literally cannot tell front from back, but the assumption that she even used it in the first place is covered far too quickly.
//It just feels like something that's immediately noticeable, and I immediately questioned it. But the fact that nobody brought it up until the end of the case made me second-guess myself the whole time.
//It's ultimately kind of disappointing to me that I had an idea about something that I thought might not be correct, until I find out the only reason it wasn't covered is because everyone in this game is a dumbass for some reason. Especially since it's not IMPOSSIBLE that she could have accidentally hit the back of her leg through some means, and with it being the evidence that ultimately nails Ayame as the killer...doesn't feel right...
//Still, despite the fact that you don't have to rack your brain too much in order to cover all the points this trial makes, the mystery itself ends up being decent on most fronts. So I can't complain too much about it.
//My other issues mainly stem from the characterizations. There are some standout character moments here, but there are a few things that I do take issue with.
//The big one...is Kizuna.
//Kizuna is essentially Hiyoko but somehow worse. She spent most of her screen time bullying other students, and she's also guilty of pimping herself and her friends out to people, literally tries to RAPE Yuki during her last FTE, and in this case, tried to convince Akane to assist in killing Yuki because he allegedly knew the identity of the Mastermind. Something that, while an interesting twist in retrospect, was fairly groundless.
//Then she tried to kill her when she refused because she knew too much. She also confessed that she had been prepared to kill someone since day two.
//It devolves to the point that at the conclusion of the trial, nobody is upset with Ayame for taking her life. I know this might mostly be because Ayame did it with mostly noble intentions, and Kizuna was the asshole victim, but it still feels like Kizuna got absolutely wasted here.
//The most redeemable thing Kizuna does in the entire time she's in the Killing Game is she writes "Maid" in her blood after she is stabbed by Akane so that the others know she killed her, but alters the message to "Maid X" meaning "Not the maid," after Ayame shows up to complete the task.
//But then she dies, and any kind of decent character arc or development she had was cut short.
//A case can be made for Hiyoko in that despite still being rude to people, before she died, she was showing genuine growth, and a desire to move on, mainly through how she was trying to learn to tie her kimono without Mahiru's help. But the way Kizuna is handled here makes it seem like she's developing, only to rip that away from her at the end, and make the claim that "Oh yeah, she was always this evil bitch."
//Hiyoko wasn't evil, she just grew up in the wrong environment, and as she got older and more mature through the killing game, it was shown by her growing out of it. Meanwhile it really does just feel like LINUJ was trying to reinforce the fact that Kizuna won't, and cannot, change, no matter the terrible situation she's in.
//LINUJ does this A LOT! Especially in SDRA2. And I HATE it.
//In Chapter 1, she is introduced as a typical Cruel cheerleader who hides behind a vivacious façade. However, in Chapter 2, Yuki and Akane overhear her sobbing about how lonely she truly is, and they encourage the other students to embrace her into their friend group, which she accepts with tears. She cries when she confesses that men have only ever seen her for her appearance, and seems to connect with Yuki after he persuades her not to rape him, if you follow all of her free-time events.
//Only later, she tells Akane that the entire incident was a ruse to win their trust so she may kill Yuki, whom she (rightly, might I add) believes to be the mastermind. When Akane tries to stop her, she easily turns the knife on her.
//It just bothers me that there are so many accounts of Kizuna showing remorse for her past, a genuineness in her character, and on SEVERAL OCCASSIONS at that, only for the game to ultimately decide that she's a jerk to the soul with no redeemable qualities, and then rips everything away from her so that a bad taste is left in your mouth.
//I don't know, I just don't like it. I'm not really sure what else I'm supposed to say. Like, I get why LINUJ sees the world this way, but he has proven he's capable of writing characters who do bad things, but grow and feel remorseful for them.
//Akane and Ayame both go through that in this chapter and they are the best examples.
//Speaking of which, let's talk about the latter next.
//To her credit, I think Ayame is one of the best killer's in the original Another game, if not, THE best. For me, it's a toss-up between her, and another character who we'll get to later.
//What actually happened with this case is Ayame found Kizuna's almost dead body after Akane accidentally stabbed her, and even if she had hurried to get help, Kizuna would have very certainly died from her stomach wound by the time she returned, and Akane would have become the Blackened as a result. In light of this, she believed that turning into the Blackened herself was the only way to stop Akane from doing so.
//Which, surprisingly, is something that we've NEVER gotten before. Despite how easy it could be, the original Danganronpa series, even to this day, doesn't have a single case where someone took the fall for someone else to stop them from being executed.
//The closest we've gotten to this up until this point is Chapter 2 of Danganronpa 2 where Peko killed Mahiru. It's widely accepted that the reason she did it was so Fuyuhiko didn't have to become the Blackened himself.
//However, with Peko, not only did she not deal the killing blow after Fuyuhiko already attacked Mahiru, but she mainly did it as part of her duty to be Fuyuhiko's tool. Which isn't to say she didn't genuinely care about Fuyuhiko as a person; but what I mean is that in Peko's mind, her duty to serve as his weapon against his enemies would have come first.
//And unlike Ayame, Peko really thought out the consequences, and acted completely selflessly. Because Peko did not care about herself enough to try and beat the odds.
//In the case of Ayame, her actions to kill Kizuna and stop Akane from being executed were driven by genuine friendship, and not wanting her to die. She knew that the liklihood of her beating the trial wasn't that high given the united forces against her, and she would have been content losing her life so long as she got to save Akane's.
//But what I also like about this case and Ayame's motives is that even she herself admits that her actions weren't entirely selfless. Rei rightly points out to her at the conclusion of the case that if she really wanted to save Akane, there would be no need for the trial, because in the case that she won it, Akane would have been executed anyway.
//And Ayame affirms this and accepts the responsibility for that. She just retains the consistent honesty that she's known for, and doesn't try to play up her actions as heroic or noble, because she herself DID have a desire to escape from the academy, and she IS selfish to an extent.
//As well as the fact that another reason is because she wanted to be sure that she had done the right thing, and that Akane really had stabbed Kizuna on accident.
//It's one of the saddest deaths in the entire game, especially given how Akane desperately tries to say everything that's on her mind in Ayame's final moments so she can be sent off with them.
//What's even better is that Akane turning out to be the Mastermind doesn't change any of this for me. The fact that she forgot her memories before the end of Case 5 and ended up forming this genuine bond with Ayame is wholesome as hell.
//As well as the fact that she admits in her final moments that it's Ayame's kindness that really helped her switch sides.
//Which I think is an interesting and underrated parallel of Akane's relationship with Utsuro. The reason why Akane sweared fealty to Utsuro is because he was the one who saved her life from an extremely shitty situation.
//You could argue that Ayame did the same thing here. So Akane developed a similar devotion to her late friend, and ultimately decided she didn't want to waste the second chance she got.
//Kind of the complete reverse of what I was just talking about with Kizuna's arc being betrayed in place of just keeping her a terrible person. Akane was a terrible person who did a lot of wrong, but I like that just as it can take one bad day to turn a reasonable person into a morally questionable individual, the reverse is true. One act of kindness can change an entire world view and reshape people.
//It's kind of the main message of Danganronpa. That Hope and Despair are equally as strong as each other, and you will find traces of one in places where the other might thrive. Akane's character arc throughout most of Another revolves around this singular point with Ayame, and it pans out spectacularly.
//So yeah, I can find no fault with Ayame honestly. She's just generally a really great character in this case, and has a lasting impact that spans the rest of the game, which is more than Mitch and Kinji can say, or deserve. I think it takes a lot of emotional maturity to be able to do the things she did and make the claims, as well as willingly accept that her actions weren't as noble as they might come across.
//Speaking of emotional maturity, Tsurugi has fucking none of that.
//I eluded to this in the previous post about the case that came before this one, but for me, this is the point where I REALLY started to fall out of love with Tsurugi.
//I get that he's supposed to be the antagonist character, but Byakuya, Nagito, and Kokichi, while definitely antagonistic, never reached these levels of evil in terms of their antics. Byakuya definitely told someone to off themselves once or twice at some point, but he never said it in a serious context.
//In the midst of her complete and total mental breakdown over Ayame's execution, he icily orders Akane to kill herself, for no reason other than that he alone believes she still counts as a murderer because she accidentally stabbed Kizuna.
//Again. ACCIDENTALLY!
//Let me tell you all a little bit about the way court legislations work, my friends. Most jurisdictions allow the use of force, including lethal force, if you have a reasonable belief that your life or someone else's life is in imminent danger. The force used must generally be proportional to the threat. For example, using lethal force against a non-lethal threat may not be justified.
//But this was a lethal threat. Kizuna was straight-up trying to kill Akane here.
//Accidentally killing someone in self-defense might not automatically lead to prison, but the outcome will depend on how the law views your actions.
//But even with all this, coupled with the fact that Akane DIDN'T ACTUALLY kill Kizuna, is completely irrelevant to Tsurugi. And for the entire rest of the game, no matter how nice she is to him, he remains vindictive towards her for the entire game from this point forward.
//Even though she did essentially nothing wrong.
//And while that does make Tsurugi an interesting antagonist in this game, it makes me absolutely despise him as a character.
//Even though his accusations against her aren't entirely false, this is still a terrible situation. Despite his declaration that he is willing to collaborate with the other students on Kanata and Kakeru's murder trial in the very next chapter, he singles out Akane to explain he still views her as an attempted murderer.
//He does NOT let her get over it for the rest of the game. The only other character who does that is Kokichi, but he does that out of childish immaturity and a desire to get under people's skin. Tsurugi doing this is petty, and it makes me absolutely loathe him.
//It's in the same vein as why I hate Haiji Towa. Haiji's actions are pretty realistic given the situation that he's in, and I don't think he's a poorly written character at all. It's just that said writing makes them out to be so detestable that I can barely stand to be in his presence.
//I'd normally appreciate a 180 like this in a normal narrative, but this felt way too fast for me.
//And yeah, before anyone says it, I do know that there are no manslaughter laws in the killing game, and that these laws can be kind of complicated. If you kill someone in self-defence, you still become the blackened, because that's basically what happened with Leon, kind of.
//But the fact that Tsurugi complies himself to this bothers me.
//However, that's mostly all my negatives out of the way, and everything else I have to say about this case is actually pretty stellar. The primary reason why it's not higher is because of the reasons that I've just discussed, plus I have a lot more positive things to say about the cases going forward than I do this one.
//Personally though, I think the biggest selling point for this trial for me is something that I normally recognize Fanganronpa's over, and one of the key selling points for any fan-related work:
//Originality.
//Look, if we can be completely frank about something, as much as LINUJ does get creative with his cases later, SDRA2 is the one that really branches out in terms of mysteries, while A1 plays it kind of safe by sticking to the same formula as the first and second games.
//Look at all the other trials, and you'll see what I mean:
//A-1 is the same as 1-1: The murder is committed by the sports jock, and he uses his talent to assist in his cover up of the crime. He also has the most brutal execution right out of the gate.
//A-3 is the same as 1-3: The murderer is a typically reserved and mature individual who throws all of that to the wayside when they start to become cornerned. They also kill two people, and suffer a similarly religious-themed and passive execution that quickly turns intense and silly.
//A-4 is the same as 2-4: The murder arises during the height of tension among the students and involves them trapped inside a specific area of the Killing Game with very limited resources. It's also the point where they are most at each others' throats, and somebody makes a sacrifice in order to rescue them, either by killing themselves, or agreeing to commit a murder with another person.
//A-5 is the same as 1-5: It's a murder and plot actually committed by the mastermind, but framed by another student as a means of taking back control of the Killing Game and dividing the students again. The student that they try to pin the blame on also somehow manages to escape their execution. Albeit Mikako's way of doing so is a lot more tragic than Makoto's.
//And A-6 is the same as 2-6: The main cast of characters are revealed to be part of a larger conglomerate that they forgot about upon their memories being erased, and the Killing Game itself is revealed to be the prelude to a much bigger event. The main character is also revealed to not only be the true mastermind behind the killing game, and also found to be an entirely different person than anyone, even themselves, believed, but they also possess an unholy superpower of talent that makes them near unstoppable, despite their preconcieved normalcy among the cast.
//A-2 is the only trial that doesn't share almost anything in common with the originaly Danganronpa games. As I mentioned already, the closest point of commonality is how Peko and Fuyuhiko's situation slightly mirrors Akane and Ayame's, but even then, that's a stretch, and almost a completely different situation besides a few things.
//There's also the way that Ayame disguises her motives by pretending to be evil, like Peko did, but that lasts like...4 seconds, in comparison to Peko's half an hour, smh.
//It feels detached from anything that we've seen before in Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despair, and really stands on its own legs as a case on the same level as the franchise has shown.
//What is most impressive is that this originality in the writing of the case is only the simple grounds upon which the rest of the mystery is built. After all, most of SDRA2's cases are fairly original, but that originality doesn't make them good (see A2-2). The case takes it and runs with it in good ways.
//For one, I like that the case shows the truth that eyewitness testimony and personal accounts of a case alone are nowhere near substantial enough to solve a case on its own, either by misconstruing a situation, or just straight up lying about what was seen.
//It's a hurdle that I feel most Danganronpa cases fail to jump, but this one does.
//Pun...not intended.
//I also really like the plot twist this chapter, and what ultimately drove Kizuna to single out Yuki especially, in that he apparently knows who the Mastermind is. We later find out that it's Yuki himself...kind of...but it's an interesting twist that sets the game apart from what is known in DR1, and the way it turns the others opinion of him on its head is pretty tense and engaging.
//But in general, I think this case is just all around super solid. It's just that compared to the other Chapter 2's in the Danganronpa series, this one is the middle ground. It's a compelling mystery that stands on its own merits, but it's not engaging enough to breach the top 10.
//I'm very sorry, because I understand that this trial is particularly popular among the audience.

This wasn't asked for because nobody in their right mind would ask for this but this is a fic rec list of fics I cannot stop rereading
Just started yet another reread of Inimitable Verse by deniigiq and I fully plan on rereading their into the multiverse series which occasionally crosses over also - this is a Spider-Man/team red focused series, think comics canon infused early mcu-spidey since only homecoming had come out for a non substantial amount of time they were working on the series and the daredevil stuff is explicitly tv show AND comics. Also the multiverse series is how I got into Murderdock and therefore how I got into Spider Gwen
Unpretty's Sorrowful And Immaculate Hearts series which is just a loosely interconnected series of DC fics. My personal favorites are Empty Graves, in which Martha Kent keeps killing time travelers trying to kill baby! Clark; any of their clois fics but especially Third Wheel; and Anti-Social, which is a social media fic mostly about Tim and Bruce that made me cry laughing. Catch Bruce trying to get Walmart's employees to unionize. Also shout out to unpretty's only fic with Jason in it, it looks awesome but is tragically incomplete
This particular Reverse Robin AU which put in the work to reverse every single younger generation and is chef's kiss I LOVE this version of Tim he's wild
Both of Shoalsea's fics are in constant rotation for me I talk about Into The Brighter Night all the time in the tags of reblogs and stuff it truly lives in my head rent free. Anyway Tim gets kidnapped by aliens and the batfam have to watch as yj98 saves him and it's angsty and funny and such a good take on what could have been if the new 52 hadn't happened. And Compassion Builds No House is about Tim and Pru from Red Robin. Ugh they're both so good
Speaking of Clois (I did you've just forgotten this by now) brilliant (like a confession) by kathkin (penny-anna on the hellsite) is so fucking good I'm. Okay. Anyway it'll be listed as inspiration if/when I finally post my two person love triangle fic for them
I'm too anxious to catch up on this before it's done but jumble sale chic is hands down the best spideydevil fic series despite and because of the omegaverse
Make A Little Birdhouse In Your Soul is my favorite take on Jason, period, and has a lot of fantastic Damian stuff going on too. It's updating every few weeks still! Sometimes more often! I love you bacondoughnut it's me JustGail the person who will not stop commenting on your fic you're stuck with me forever
I lied above Rumspringa Murderdock is what got me into Murderdock but that series is second place. I found this one while scrolling through the tv show's mattfoggy tag, thinking I was safe
Speaking of Murderdock mattfoggy, The Lawyer All the Wickedness was written early on in spider-gwen's history and so diverges from canon really early in ways that I think are super interesting and creative
Oh also straight on 'til morning by merils (Tumblr url mamawasatesttube) does SUCH a great job unpacking Kon's trauma and building up healthy relationships around him including a budding timkon romance and yeah it makes me sad and happy at the same time
We're getting into poisonivory territory so just trust if you like the pairing and poisonivory is writing it you'll like it. Ok rapidfire
Like A Handprint On My Heart mattfoggy soulmate au with a twist
Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow? Damijon future fic/au. Jon came back from the future when both of them were 19. Demisexual!Damian at its best. Damian's terrified of being abandoned by Jon again and it made my heart hurt
I feel like I've already recommended every JayRoy fic by poisonivory and genuinely I do reread them all, sometimes in order of publication if I'm in a particular mood. Maybe the one I've read most though is I've Got the Feeling You're the Right Thing After All which is about Roy and Jason starting a fwb thing while Roy still harbors old feelings for Dick. Can't see anything going wrong here lmao
Mmm this post is long enough so I'll leave it at just superhero fic for now but I do in fact have the ability to do a whole post just for the Witcher or Leverage so I might do that. Anyway thanks for following me on yet another burst of insanity it will happen again
#fic recs#team red#spiderman#mattfoggy#murderdock#daredevil#spideydevil#damijon#timkon#jayroy#clois#batfam#superfam#marvel comics#dd tv#marvel#dc#gail speaks#if I didn't also list their tumblr urls we're not mutuals#although obviously a lot of them are in fact on tumblr

Does Bhaal's "kill everyone on the planet" thing extend to the undead?
Bhaal's 'kill everyone on the planet' thing involves world domination in the form of a 'nation ruled by the dead, over the dead' with nobody alive within his personal kingdom (except maybe his followers and his loyal children, who maybe get a pass for being 'beholden to [him]'). His ambitions include ruling, so he's going to need something to rule over. Not being alive, they don't trigger his hunger, and he notably has never displayed animosity towards the undead that I've seen, and is one of the gods directly liked to them conceptually:
In the FORGOTTEN REALMS™ campaign set, only followers of Bane*, Bhaal, Myrkul, and Talos make normal or usual use of undead [Velsharoon joined the party later, and I do note Shar got kind-of involved eventually]. - Lords of Darkness
Other religions might use undead as tools now and then, but apparently the Dead Three are the intended gods of the undead (even though Myrkul got the largest chunk of the association).
Bhaal personally loves having armies of undead under his command and adding to their numbers via more brutal death.
He does favour mindless undead, particularly skeletons, but can and will go in for sapient undead now and then, such as death knights and the Murder Tribunal, who I'm pretty sure are listed as ghosts. I'd imagine the distinction is that undead who are loyal to him are good, undead that aren't are bad. Not that it matters much, since undead are completely helpless against him: no undead can attack Bhaal in any fashion at all, ever, while Bhaal can wipe them from existence beyond all recovery on a whim. Good luck saying 'no.' Bhaal wants to rule and cannot tolerate the living, and the undead are the perfect subjects for him to rule.
I'd actually put forth the argument that having died/been killed but being denied death, thus stuck between Bane and Myrkul's spheres of ruling over the living and the dead respectively, the undead should be Bhaal's thing more than anybody elses', but whatever.
Besides undeath is great, because it directly spits in the face of life and upsets/causes pain to those deities whose nature is aligned with it:
'Each of the undead creatures was a blasphemy against life itself, a chaotic disruption of the balance of all things.'
Most undead also share his innate hatred of life and desire to consume/destroy it, so they have a lot in common.
I can see him being annoyed by vampires, who don't have that innate hatred and are noted to earn eyerolls from other undead due to their pretentious habit of clinging to/mimicking being alive the way they do. He's never directly expressed that opinion though, that's just my reading of things.

hi! love your blog. I was wondering if you have any fic recs? I’m especially looking for royjamiekeely but I’m flexible :) thank you!!
Hi! I have read a lot of the R/J/K tag, and gosh, there is seriously so much incredible stuff in there. It sort of depends on what kind of vibe you're going for, but here are a few* to get you started.
Note: many of these are rated M or E, so please check the actual warnings and ratings and summaries before reading :)
Start with author inlovewithnight and literally just read everything they've ever written, it is all completely brilliant and there is something for all tastes. My personal favorites are the blood in my mouth, I wish it was mine and they threw me a whirlwind and I spat back the sea, but do be aware those are definitely darker/heavier fics and heed the tags!!! (the first has quite bit of noncon [not between RJK] and the second involves physical abuse initiated by James Sr.). For a lighter option I recommend Follow the Hearts and You Can't Go Wrong which is a lovely future R/J/K fic about the end of Jamie's career
from there move along to @valonia47 (Ao3) and @belmottetower (Ao3) and Mixtape Star (Ao3) and also read everything they've written :) I wanted to single out favorites for you but how could I when it's all so very good?
our bodies touch and the angels cry by lennynards: R/J/K that starts out with Roy & Jamie having to stay within 10 feet of each other at all times after both accidentally drinking a weird tea Jane brewed up for Beard. Yes it sounds like a completely ridiculous premise but it is one of my favorite RJK fics ever, 12/10
In Colour series by lyricl: this one feels so very true to canon and it just gets them all so right, I don't know how else to describe it. It's not a complete series though and nobody has actually gotten together as of yet, fyi. They're all far too busy having a lot of complex (& horny) feelings about each other from afar.
This might be a long shot that's not quite what you're looking for but, For Now series by Wild Wren. It's actually mostly a Roy/Keeley series, and I started reading it on a whim because I literally ran out of new things to read in the R/J/K and Jamie tags at one point, lol. Then it ended up being some of my favorite fanfic of all time. It's Roy/Keeley but like, in a not normative and also very kinky way that does a great deep dive into their respective ~issues~. Also Wild Wren had them break up even before the show had them break up, and in a much better and far more detailed way, just saying!! Part 4 is pre-ot3 in the messiest possible way. What a brilliant series, I cannot recommend it enough.
Outgrow the shoes of expectations by @destinationtoast : Brilliant on the ot3 side of it and even better on the character study of each individual within the ot3. Sooo so good. I think about it all the time.
another box with a question mark by irishmizzy: going to be completely honest when I say I don't fully remember this one, but I do know it was very funny and excellent and it is also rated T which makes it different from a lot of the others on my list, so i wanted to include!! It is in my bookmarks and I'm going to be rereading it asap now :)
something that's so close by @ohlafraise : s3 outtake that is very funny and perfect and lovely and also happens to be rated T :) also check out one night upon the shore by the same author. It's Jamie/Keeley, but don't worry Roy's there in spirit. You'll see. That one is very much not T though, lol
by any other name by renecdote: Jamie accidentally wears a Kent jersey instead of his own jersey on the pitch and the internet thinks they're dating (spoiler: they are dating). Who cares if it's not realistic because it's so hilarious and wonderful, amen.
Oh Lord, You've Never Been so in Love by asexual-fandom-queen. I literally just read this one, it's hot off the presses and it is so sexy and tender and also just gets these three so very right. the perfect anecdote to the end of s3.
Anddd of course I have to self promo a little and recommend you Waterfalls (between seasons 1&2 canon divergence), The Full Picture (s3: Jamie attempting to parent-trap RoyKeeley while avoiding his feelings for both of them) and my new one Confetti (ot3 fluff where they celebrate Phoebe's favorite holidays)
*I said I'd give a few and then proceeded to be really long about it, but like, what else is new? For that reason I've tried to stick to strictly R/J/K fics, but if you'd like Roy/Jamie or gen fic/Jamie fic recs also let me know because I could totally make a whole separate post about those, lol.

top 10 favorite star wars characters atm
luke skywalker and ahsoka tano
cannot decide between literally me irl and my childhood favorite. also their relationships to anakin both kill me and thats whats at the heart of star wars, so i thought it would only be fair they tie (plus its my list, eat my ass)
2. hera syndulla
ghost crew mother turned military leader. she's one of the few female characters we get to see with high military status and we get to see her growth up to that position. she loses so much but she always keeps going because its whats right. also best pilot in the galaxy is hera syndulla argue with a wall
3. alexsandr kallus
BEST REDEMPTION ARC IN ALL OF STAR WARS FIGHT ME ON THIS SUCK MY DICK AND BALLS also he's voiced by david oyelowo and that man has such an attractive voice. i fully believe that the fandom would not have accepted kallus's redemption arc w any other va bc the subtlety david oyelowo puts into that performance is fucking insane
4. commander cody // cc-2224
favorite of the clones. to be fair he is everything that a clone is supposed to be which can be boring to some people, but i find it really interesting. his armor is by far my favorite armor in the show too which does contribute to him being up so high, sorry im a sucker for good character design
5. din djarin
father #1 on the list. pedro pascal bedroom voice, need i say more, but i will. hes such a morally gray character in the beginning but hes also so funny. bro asked luke skywalker if he was a jedi. din is the definition of main character who really wishes he wasn't one. also themes of religion and the intensity of different denominations of it is so interesting esp within star wars
6. hunter // cc-9901
father #2 on the list. his fighting style is one of my favorites in star wars, even though we mostly see that from him in his episodes in clone wars. also favorite clone design in terms of how he differentiates himself from the other clones aka not his armor
7. omega
child of father #2 on the list, but she's also so luke/ezra coded. she can make friends with everyone, including hounds, regardless of the shitty hand of cards she's been dealt. also she gambles and is a child which is hilarious
8. artoo
the character ever. if he were an organic being he would have the saddest story in star wars, besides obi-wan shhh. he's there for everything and even when c3po is reprogrammed to work for the empire during rebels, artoo isnt, showing how useful that lil mf is. also anyone that stands up to chopper is so brave in my book
9. torra doza (from resistance)
this is such a random pick, especially bc i dont really like the sequels and this show comes right before them, but i just remember her being such a good character. design again is a big thing in this, but she's also a super talented pilot which i love. she's optimistic and bubbly, which isnt my favorite thing in a character, but i like how she was done so she has to be on here. sorry i feel like nobody knows who she is
10. lando calrissian
is this bc donald glover plays young lando? uh....neways lando did NOTHING WRONG. he gave up han because he had to protect his people and he ultimately makes up for doing that anyways. also charismatic and so so so sexy (all versions of him) what an iconic star wars character

everything under preferences & emotions for the jumbo ask game? :3
woagh a beeg one
so my heart always wants to talk about Pride and Justice, literally all the time, for any reason. but i also want to shove Harlan and Yvonne in everyone's faces, as the new kids on the block. so to satisfy my extremely indulgent urges, i'm going to split this list in half and answer 5 for each couple.
Pride & Justice
🔥 Give us a list of general likes and dislikes, such as colors, textures, music, weather and other stuff!
Okay for Justice this is easy. He likes books and analyzing books (especially romance, especially in his book club), basically any animal (including humans), bright colors (yellow, light green, soft blues, lotta pastels in his wardrobe), soft textures, fruity scents (like in lotion and shampoo and stuff), his favorite season is spring, he likes overcast skies, and he'll listen to just about any music but has an affinity for classical and Lo-Fi Hip-Hop Beats To Study/Relax To.
On the other hand, Pride is so repressed that he does not allow himself to enjoy things for a hot minute because he's afraid of looking Weak and Vulnerable for Experiencing Joy. He'll admit to enjoying weed, alcohol, shoplifting, and inciting violence, but that's about it. Eventually, he comes to enjoy the punk scenes Ollie frequents and trips and falls into emo stuff (he also listens to pop-y club music when he's not at the club, but won't admit it), he can tortuously admit his favorite color is maroon, he obsesses over telenovelas with Sofia, he loves watching bad movies on purpose to make fun of them, he likes rain and snow, and his favorite texture is "Justice's clothes."
🍊 What is your OC’s favorite meal? Snack? Dessert? Drink? Any reasons behind this besides liking how it tastes? What is your OC’s most hated food? Stuff they can’t stand to eat or drink?
Justice is partial to breakfast food in general, but simply cannot resist the opportunity to eat French toast when it's available. It's the first thing he perfected while learning to cook for the first time, so it's special in that way too.
Pride doesn't cook much (or rather, doesn't cook anything recognizable as human food), so his favorite things are made by other people or store bought. In general, he likes tart, sweet-and-sour flavors because it reminds him what his sin tastes like, and Ollie's weed brownies for exactly the reason you're thinking.
I haven't thought too much about what either of them dislike, so I'm pulling these out of my ass. Pride thinks yogurt is the weirdest, grossest food in the world, and Justice really doesn't understand the appeal of avocados.
🍑 Where is your OC’s favorite place to relax or calm down? Recount a story of their time spent in this place! What makes it so special to them? Is there anywhere your OC hates to go to? Anywhere that stresses them out or have negative memories of?
For a while, Purgatory was Pride's escape. Nobody cares about Purgatory, nobody would ever look for him there, so it's where he went to cool off after another fight with Lust or to escape someone he pissed off. Relatedly, Hell is his least favorite place (shock, gasp).
On Earth, he kinda just goes to his room and curls up in his blanket nest when upset. Sometimes he will accompany this with extremely loud sadboy music. If he's just chilling though, he'll sit in the most space-taking position on the couch possible and watch Epic Fail compilations or something. Bonus points if Justice is there and he can invite himself into his lap.
Justice likes to sit on the balcony and be quiet, either with a book or nothing. It's his Thinking Spot, where he goes to brain it all out. It's important to him because he never really... had a place for that in Heaven. Everything he did was strictly regulated and controlled, so all his "relaxing" had to be done during his designated "relax" time, which he """shockingly"""" didn't get a ton of.
He hasn't been on Earth long enough to have negative associations with any particular place, but his memories of Heaven have been quite tainted by his recent rejection. He both wants to go back desperately, and hates that he wants to at all.
🧡 Who is your OC’s favorite person? Why is this person the top of their list and have they actually met them (an idol or role model or celeb can be someone’s favorite after all!). Who does your OC absolutely hate, the one person who they’d sell to Satan for one corn chip? Why do they loathe this person so?
Pride's favorite person is HIM!
In seriousness, Pride has himself on a pedestal because literally nobody gave a shit about him up until the events of the story happened. It was/is a coping mechanism, a survival technique, a way to rationalize all his actions away as Correct, because if he was ever wrong then that meant that everyone who had ever hurt him was right. As he grows, he begins to unlearn this way of thinking, but he never really lets go of that core idea. Pride is the most important person in the world to Pride, because he has to be. When nobody else is around, he has to truly, genuinely, earnestly love himself, not just to cope, but to like... be happy. But since he's not alone, and does have people who love him, Justice is his favorite non-him person for both character development reasons and extremely gay reasons.
As for his least favorite people, that could honestly fill a book. He is so bitter. God for obvious reasons, Lust for being abusive, Lucifer for lying about being better than God, but his hatred for Envy is I think the most interesting. In real life, the emotions of envy and (unhealthy) pride are very closely linked - people who have an unhealthy relationship with their pride are often envious of other people. Pride hates Envy because she's the concept of everything he can't admit to himself (he's envious of angels and humans who are happy, loved, and have God's affection), and Envy hates him right back for flaunting his confidence/dismissal of her sin as a concept at her and showing what she thinks she needs to be happy (and no longer envious). They're catty as fuck.
Justice loves Pride (for gay reasons and character reasons), but it's an extremely close race, maybe even a tie, for his sister Kindness. She's the reason for a lot of who he is, they intentionally modeled their human bodies so they would look related. Kindness really helped shape his understanding of how God's justice and God's kindness work together to create the Perfect Wholesome World of Heaven and is a big reason he believes what he does. Obviously when Heaven turned out to not be so wonderful and wholesome, he still took those ideals with him to Earth. One of his core philosophies is that justice should be guided by kindness, not the other way around, and she helped teach him that.
His personal antagonist in the book is Honesty, and he loathes her for extremely good reasons. She was his direct superior in Heaven, and made his life very difficult once he started suggesting that maybe Purgatory isn't the best way to do things. He has been under her thumb for ages, and him leaving Heaven was basically the excuse she was looking for to brand him a traitor. Justice does not wish death on anyone, but he's very close saying some very mean words about Honesty.
📙 What kind of subjects (of conversation, of discussion, in school or whatever) does your OC find interesting or engaging or that they can talk for hours about? What kind of stuff do they just find fun? What things bore your OC to tears and they couldn’t care less about? Why?
Justice LOOOOVES Blorbo From His Books. Pick up any book in his collection, he'll have hours of conversation at the ready. Even the trashy pulpy ones - ESPECIALLY the pulpy ones tbh. He's also a rules lawyer by definition of embodying God's justice, so he also enjoys having a friendly argument of semantics and creating the most busted TTRPG characters you've ever seen based on nothing but technicalities.
What Justice does not like talking about is... arguments for the sake of arguing? I guess? He doesn't like getting into fights, he just likes talking about rules, so anyone coming at him with like... real Stakes in the topic at hand with Furious Rebuttals immediately turns him off. He's just playing toys. Why are you so mad.
As previously mentioned, Pride doesn't really allow himself to enjoy things for a while, and even when he does, he doesn't like the idea of talking for hours about stuff. When he gets into art and starts painting, he doesn't really talk about it as much as he just... does it all the time, here's a picture. He'd rather show, not tell, and let the art speak for itself. Even with his bad movies and telenovelas, he doesn't have much to say other than "they're so fuckin hilarious, this one's my favorite, we should watch it Right Now, No Take Backs."
Pride finds SO many things boring actually. Don't talk about sports, don't talk about anything with numbers, don't bring up PROBLEMS in the NEWS??? It better be FUNNY or SEXY or VIOLENT or he is not listening to you.
Harlan & Yvonne
😊 What can make your OC smile even when they’re feeling down? What cheers them up and makes everything feel better for them? Is your OC generally a happy person and do they enjoy making others smile? What about your OC makes others happy?
Harlan is definitely a happy guy by default, especially after starting magic HRT. He lives a very party-heavy college lifestyle around a lot of other party people, so he's very rarely in a situation where thinking about his problems is in the forefront of his mind.
Music pretty reliably makes him happy, and just being in a situation where there are lots of people having a good time also makes him want to have a good time, which is where the parties come in. The infectious energy and the drinking games and whatever party potions everyone is passing around, all that is where he wants to be, with the people he wants to be with.
Harlan is also very good at being your personal hype man? He will simply not let his friends get away with self-depreciation, and give you compliments until you agree that they're true.
Yvonne is a more subdued kind of happy. She's consistently homesick for her herd, but does her best to keep in touch and explore her big city lifestyle in Athendrolyn and make a new "herd" for herself.
When she's particularly homesick, she'll either go on a long walk/trot along the beach or the forest trails, or if the weather's bad, curl up with a warm drink and a blanket and watch nostalgic movies from her foalhood.
Her social battery for people she hasn't integrated into her "new herd" is drained quite quickly, but if she's mentally made you part of that group, you're basically family to her. She'll drop anything for her herd, no matter the situation, and is all around a very compassionate and loyal friend.
⭐ What is your OC afraid of? Any crippling phobias or some such? How do they act when scared and what helps them calm down? Does anyone ever find your OC scary? Why?
Yvonne is a centaur, so she has crippling horse anxiety. Which is to say, she's afraid of most things! When she was living with her herd, it was mitigated by being in a herd and having a community and a leader to follow, but when she moved away for access to magic HRT, it got worse. She's particularly afraid of unexpected loud noises, sudden movements, and can get pretty overwhelmed in flashy environments like parties or concerts. She definitely leans on the "flight" half of fight or flight, and will look for any escape route possible. Depending on what's causing the episode, just being in a quiet room with someone she trusts for a few minutes can be enormously helpful, but the most reliable way for her to not be anxious is for people to announce when they're coming into a room, explain whatever that noise just was, and not go to parties.
As for being scary, Yvonne is a Clydesdale, so I wouldn't put it past people to find her intimidating, but usually once she opens her mouth all that is put to rest. She's very friendly!
Harlan isn't a particularly anxious person, but does avoid the ocean whenever possible. He's terrified of the sea and most deep water in general. He can swim, he just doesn't like doing it, and it's pretty easy for him to be calm by not going near deep water👍ever 👍
He's not scary either, nor would he ever want to seem scary.
🍋 Does your OC act petty and jealous easily? What sort of things make them feel like this and do they experience guilt for getting so worked up? How do they deal with these emotions when they get them? If your OC doesn’t feel like this often, why not?
Harlan is definitely very petty. One thing that happens in the short story is that his friends tease him about making up Yvonne (because they'd never met her/seen a picture of her), and once she shows up he takes EVERY OPPORTUNITY to rub their noses in the fact that HHHIISSS girlfriend is here, and his REALLY AWESOME GIRLFRIEND is right there, and wow did he mention they're DATINGGGGG??????
He really hates being underestimated, or being made a fool of, which is why he reacts so strongly to things like that. He doesn't like feeling like he's second best, so if he feels like that's happening (even if it isn't), he asserts his "authority" basically with any straw he can grasp. Sometimes this is easy, like when Yvonne turns out to be real and not fake, but other times it's just... unrelated or insulting or made up. He's not good at impulse control, so usually he has to be told to knock it off.
Yvonne is not very petty or jealous because in general very calm and not very confrontational. She can be a little insecure, too, so in instances where she is feeling jealous, it's more internal, and she doesn't act on it.
When she does feel it bad enough, she can shut down and be kind of closed off. Usually someone can help talk her back out of it, and Harlan is especially good at this because he likes to hype her up at every opportunity.
📀 How easy is it to shock your OC? To confuse them? To lie to them, to manipulate them? How are they with feelings of trust? Can your OC be trusted?
Yvonne grew up pretty sheltered in a rural area with only other centaurs, so she's pretty out of her depth when she moves to Athendrolyn with its dozens of different creatures and customs and traditions. The culture shock made her pretty susceptible to being tricked, both in non-serious ways and worse ways, but she's definitely more vigilant now. She's very trusting, even after those unfortunate incidents, and will generally give people the benefit of the doubt.
Harlan is much quicker to call bullshit, but also quicker to go "yooooo no wayyyyy," about something that personally piques his interest, whether or not it's true. He tends to trust people unless they have a known history of being untrustworthy, and his fraternity (or whatever I'm calling it in this fictional world) can definitely spread news, true or false, faster than anyone can possibly outrun it, so if he's trusting someone he knows he can trust, but they got their info from someone else who got it from someone else etc... yeah.
On his end, Harlan is a pretty straightforward guy, but he does fib a liiiittle bit on occasion to seem cooler. It's why his friends jumped to "your girlfriend isn't even real" in the first place. It's more dramatic than the things he's done in the past, but it's also not not something he would do.
💛 In general, how in control of their emotions is your OC? Do they have a good hold on them or do their emotions control them, not the other way around? What do you think is the reason behind this and is your OC ever concerned about their lack of or good control?
As previously mentioned, Harlan doesn't have the greatest impulse control, and will act on how he feels before he thinks through what he's actually doing. He really feels the need to prove himself among his peers and seem cool and interesting, and the party lifestyle that encourages impulsive actions ddddoesn't help? much?
He knows he has this problem, and does try to catch himself, but it's a process after acting impulsively for so long. Yvonne being a stable, calm presence in his life has tremendously helped him.
Yvonne isn't impulsive at all, kind of the opposite. She has a lot of anxiety, and that prevents basically any impulsive action, which can cause her feelings to rule her life in a different way. She can be closed off and wary of things that aren't already in her comfort zone, especially growing up so sheltered.
She actually didn't realize how closed off she'd gotten until she met and started hanging out with Harlan, and has been slowly trying to increase her tolerance of out-of-comfort-zone experience since.

Butchering this nonsense up
This person said "Motorsports Marketing" and talks 0 marketing aspects about motorsports at all 😭😭
"Mercedes thinks they are Ferrari"
"Mercedes don't really have the brand loyalty"
Went on for +2 minutes yapping about brand loyalty when the concept went over her head LMFAOOO
Let's be real here. ⭐ big brands sponsors : Petronas, IWC Schaffhausen, SAP, HPE, and more are gained through MB's connection with the companies. There are certain parts where an individual plays its part but it's not the key. Sponsors are not like fans. You cannot downplay the concept of sponsors to just "oh they're here for a certain individual" (I don't hate but this goes for everyone including George Russell). Why am I saying that? Because sponsors are putting stakes in said company, they are putting money in the company. That money is an investment and they are not just 1 dollar or 10 dollars. It involves MILLIONS of dollars. Tenths. Hundreds. These sponsors are not babies, they know the company they're going to invest in and they won't just be there just because "someone's popular! let's sponsor it". If you're a 'marketing person' and you have this mindset, go back to marketing class and don't forget to take PR classes as well.
I do not deny the fact that most of Mercedes' fanbase are made up of one type of fan but to suggest that the company does not have a brand loyalty or simply that their value will drop by the end of someone leaving is simply ridiculous. If we're talking about a fraud paper company, yes. But we're talking here about Mercedes. MERCEDES. Their brand value, brand loyalty will not fall or suffer as hard as these people exaggerate. It is ridiculous.
About the "they are pushing more of George Russell", Lewis Hamilton got involved in Mercedes AMG campaigns as well ever since he announced his departure (AMG launch in China, AMG uncovered, Concept car release in Monaco) and more main sponsors promotional content (SAP, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger, IWC Schaffhausen). We all know Lewis doesn't do the type of tiktok contents George do but that doesn't mean he is sidelined. He does his own portion of PR work that is suited to what he usually does and what he likes to do. Saying that "Mercedes did blah blah so fans can like George more" is stupid. A) A driver is leaving in 2025, why wouldn't they push their other driver more? B) George Russell has done a lot of PR work since 2022 and 2023 (I did research about it for my paper and I got the list) so stop bullshitting if you do no research and know nothing.
"The (PR) transition has been rough" There is no the overexaggerated transition like this person mentioned. George and Lewis both had their own PR promotional styles and directions in which Mercedes divides them equally based on their personal image. This has been done since 2022, 2023.
This person acts like a driver can't leave their team and a team will crumble without said driver. They overexaggerate things that are not real? Like? Okay drivers come and go. And Lewis did have such closeness with the Mercedes brand for a decade but that doesn't mean they could not recover from it once Lewis left. They can.
"They are not even performing well. They don't have a good car (as a reason for their brand loyalty to not grow)" This person clearly doesn't know that Mercedes generates the record highest revenue of F1 with $500M in that W14.
"Fanbase that will go over to Ferrari" Again. This. Is. Mercedes. Stop acting like we're a nobody. "I literally have no solution for Mercedes" Skill issue. Go back studying and working to get more experience. "I don't know what I would do if I were them other than begging at the doorstep to change his mind" If this is your mindset to work in the marketing department, you will not survive. This literally shows the fact that you have 0 crisis management skills. A long 2:14 minute of overexaggeration and stupidity

More mystery with portraits of Hasburgs
These two paintings are located in different museums, but are believed to be once a part. Currently they are labelled currently as Philip of Austria and Margaret of Austria, 1483, by Master of Legend of Magdalene.
And it's kind of a problem. Because at least the boy doesn't look like early work of this artist at all! Not even remotely close.
So other artists have been suggested instead, and for example the girl's has been most recently labelled as by Pierre Coustain.
Which doesn't make any sense either. Because while this was court artist in Burgundy, he specialized in making coat of arms and flags, sculptures etc. Like we can speculate on Pierre Coustain's involvement in these portraits(figures by Pieter van Coninxloo):
But only about the coats of arms. This guy wasn't portraitist.
...And you know me, I am nitpicker. I my motto is:
Never trust period label...because often times they are added centuries later.
So of course I checked the labels. On first glance, they seem as very genuine. This form of letters was around in 15 and 16th century.
...So I needed some help reading it, but luckily on wikipedia it was in description of paintings.
Girl's:
Gedaen Int Jaer ons here 1483 tsinen v en Jaerre/FAT LAN M.IIII.C.IIII.XX ET TROIS QUE LORS AUOIT TROIS ANS ET TROIS MOIS)
This was created in 1483 and she is 3 years and 3 months old.
(Very specific...oddly so.)
Gedaen Int Jaer ons here 1483 tsinen v en Jaerre / Fat Lan m. III c. IIII xx. z trois ou ve. an de son eage.
Once again it says year 1483, but that Philip is 3 or 5 years old.
Like how does nobody question this? You cannot be specific to month with girl, and not know how old the boy was!
Unless the label is not original at all! And likely not even done in 15th century. Because at those days, labels weren't really popular. They took off mainly in 16th century. And given the amount of mistakes I doubt Margaret nor Philip were even alive when this occured.
Because have they been, somebody would take greater care in getting it correct!
(And, If the text is from much later it is damn well-made.)
So if text is untrust-worthy, the dating of 1483 is also untrust-worthy, and then we cannot even be sure it is Philip or Margaret!
And though the boy doesn't fit Master of Legend's early work, he damn sure looks very alike to his late work! (1510-1527)
But then these kids cannot be royals from Netherlands. This is not its fashion from 16th century. We have portraits of Philip's kids raised in Netherlands, we know what they wore.
And while, yes the girl's hat looks bit like 1460-1470s male hats worn in netherlands, girls didn't wore this I checked. And given Netherlands were already back then northern capital of painters. It's very unlikely it wouldn't appear in art of that time from that country.
So possibly these are foreign royalty. But whom?
Well, artist started working around 1480/1490 and stopped about 1527. (Assuming we have correct artist.)
And the boy wears order of golden fleece around his neck. And clearly he is not adult. List of knights of Order of Golden fleece is on wikipedia and it includes when people got it and their birth year.
So finding people who got it before age of 15 in corrrect timeframe wasn't that hard.
Six candidates:
Philip of Austria (who it is currently identified as)
Henry VIII
Charles V
Ferdinand I, Holy Roman Emperor
Louis II, King of Bohemia and Hungary
Philibert of Chalon
But at age of 14 and 13, Henry VIII and Philibert are simply too old...to be depicted here. And Louis II's sister was older than he. And we know what Charles and his sisters raised in Netherlands wore.
Thus if not Philip and Margaret, the only other valiable option is Ferdinand and Catherine of Austria.
(if the list of candidates was complete...)
And it just so happens that if you put correct dimensions to these(in cm), and put them in order of birth, they don't look so weird...
Potentially this might have once been full set of siblings.
Done firstly around 1507(first four)
and rest after 1515, when Ferdinand became the member of the order.
...And if we compare what the girl wears with spanish fashion, then at least in examples from 1490s similiar hats were popular(not as much raised, but we always see them on adults. Maybe then the raise is not so high, and traluscent veils of this kind even much later(those are with cofia de tranzado)...this shape of neckline, also very popular in Spain at least around turn of the century.
In my research into iberian fashion, i didn't go that much into fashion after 1505(not in debt) and it's not ideal that I point to examples about 20 years prior to when I think it might be.
But it is a possibility, and would explain the resemblence.
...
However then we have to assume 2 more possibilities.
A) the list of knights of order of fleece was not complete...and we're missing candidates...and then once again, where does the fashion point us?...Spain in case of girl...
B) But what if the boy and girl don't belong together?
What if they just had same background(popular in Burgundian/Netherlandish court from 1450? to about 1507)
and same dimensions(by chance, or they were later cut to make them same dimensions)?
(C)what if both options? L)ist wasn't complete and boy and girl don't belong together?
Well, the boys who got orders of golden fleeces as kids were usually royalty, with whom Hasburgs had friendly relationship.
Only other option already not covered, would be either Christian II of Denmark-but he was made member in 1519-so he is on the list, as adult...
or John, Prince of Asturias and Girona. He married Margaret of Austria, in 1497 and died that same year. And Joanna married Philip of Austria in 1496.
We know Margaret's portraits were created in early to mid 1490s, likely to be sent to Spain, and probably Philip's also.
But what if Spanish send reply? And Hasburgs send their own painter, to paint Spanish royal children? That would also explain resemblence to Joanna's children. Because boy would have to be her brother, and girl Joanna herself.
Again, the boy seems to be later work of the master, but it was a workshop. It is possible one of its member simply became more prominent later in workshop's lifetime and it happened to be him who was sent to paint the boy.
And i cannot get further than this. Dendrology would be helpful here.
However as these portraits have year upon them, the institutions who own them think they have the correct date already. We can only hope they decide to test it anyway.

UNRELIABLE NARRATORS; SIDE A
Lemony Snicket Propaganda:
(I would like to preface this by saying that Lemony Snicket is the author's pen name, not a real person, and he exists as a character in-universe as well as being the one in-universe who writes the books!) I'd say he's unreliable because he spent time collecting information about the Baudelaire kids and then... wrote books about it. He has no idea what any of their dialogue actually was, what they were thinking, or even the whole plot, he's just doing research into the incidents and then filling in the gaps to make it a story. What ACTUALLY happened to the Baudelaires? Nobody really knows for sure
While the Baudelaire siblings are in potentially life threatening danger, he will randomly start talking about his own life and just leave the siblings hanging. For example, once Count Olaf was threatening to kill Violet, and then Lemony randomly began talking about how he met the love of his life at a costume party. This man CANNOT stay on topic. Usually when a new character is introduced, Lemony tells us right at the start that they’re either going to die or that the Baudelaire siblings will never see them again. Foreshadowing is not subtle in these books. CONSTANTLY emphasizes how miserable he feels while writing these books. At one point he admits that he had to put his pencil down and go cry for a while because of how sad it made him. Once he filled an entire page with nothing but the word “ever” to emphasize how dangerous it is to put forks in electrical outlets. He also repeated a paragraph about deja vu later on in the book to give the reader deja vu.
Dr. James Sheppard Propaganda:
The story, centered on murders in an English village, is narrated by Poirot’s mild-mannered sidekick, Dr. James Sheppard. [SPOILERS} At the end, the killer turns out to be Dr. Sheppard himself, a shock despite the reader having been privy to his thoughts for several hundred pages. Christie does not allow her narrator to record a single falsehood; his slippery omissions and evasions are enough to conceal his guilt.
to quote the wikipedia article on this book: "The novel was well-received from its first publication,[4][5] and has been called Christie's masterpiece.[6] In 2013, the British Crime Writers' Association voted it the best crime novel ever.[7] It is one of Christie's best known[8][9] and most controversial novels,[10][11][12] its innovative twist ending having a significant impact on the genre. Howard Haycraft included it in his list of the most influential crime novels ever written.[13]"
Dr Sheppard’s telling the story by documenting Poirot’s investigation, starting by first telling us the events that led him to finding Roger Ackroyd’s body. He’d had dinner with Ackroyd that evening to talk about a woman’s recent suicide and her admission she’d poisoned her husband after struggling with a blackmailer. Ackroyd had a letter from her and when his body was found the letter was gone. He tells us opportunities the main suspect had to do things all while professing said subject would never do *that* when you go back and look at them again knowing what you do at the end you can see how these little things you can see how they relate to opportunities which could have led Sheppard to be exposed as the blackmailer and murderer. It’s brilliant how Christie set it up, especially if you’ve read other Poirots and are used to Hasting telling us the story. I always read it twice in a row, once just listening to the story and then going through and noting those little clues that change in context. I’m not sure I explained it that well but it’s really good how he lies to us by telling part of the truth.

Not to be rude but it’s not really ridiculous for somebody to get prickly when you reblog an article that whines about people softblocking the author for being fine with somebody creating erotic pedophiliac content.
I want to tell you that I genuinely appreciate you being the first of, like, anybody to actually tell me what your interpretation of the article was. It gives me a jumping off point for something I've been thinking about all day, which if you're not in the mood for that feel free to tune out after the first paragraph responding directly to you. Otherwise, I'm just using this as an opportunity to open the floor for discussion.
That was not my takeaway from that article, nor has that been the takeaway I've seen other people have, including people I had to ask in my real life about it. I assumed I must have read it wrong by the strong reaction I got. So I would say that, from my perspective, it was in fact very ridiculous. I also respectfully disagree with your interpretation. To even call it whining I find is an incredibly poor read of it. Maybe there's some layer of discourse I'm not privy to, they left names out so I can't investigate these accused artists for myself.
But this perfectly segues us to what I really want to talk about. The entire article is from a japanese artist aimed at a japanese audience, explaining how the word "proship" is an american fandom centric term that has no specific meaning, and therefore cannot be taken at face value. I understand the people coming at me for reblogging it feel that we all unanimously agree proship specifically refers to being pro incest/pedophilia, but I regret to inform you it's not as unanimous as you think.
As someone who was around in 2015 when the words "proship" and "anti" started to enter the common fandom vernacular, the muddling of what proship actually meant can be pinpointed to bad actors in the MHA twitter fandom at the time, popularizing the use in order to attack people that shipped BakuDeku, or fans who wanted Endeavor to have a redemption arc. This is when the meaning of being "proship" or "anti" began to get extremely conflated.
I'll take a step back real quick to say that the words "pro shipper" and "anti shipper" have been used since the 90s to mean, quite simply, someone who wants to talk about shipping or someone who doesn't. There was no laundry list of ulterior meanings, it was a way to identify who in fandom had no interest in shipping. This is also coming from someone who's been around in these spaces long enough to know this as fact from experience.
Somewhere along the way it started meaning pedophilia/incest/abuse, I find that very suspicious the way it shifted meanings from something so literally innocent, to something so ambiguously ill intended, when you can just say "they fetishize incest" without having to bring shipping into it. You can just call someone a MAP, what does shipping have to do with it. More people should be questioning why that is.
Who benefits from ambiguous terms the most? What kind of people are looking for ways to get around calling themselves pedophiles? Why let them feel safe in fandom spaces by giving them ample opportunity to hide behind something that has nothing to do with them. Shipping isn't your problem dude, you like children, fucking go to therapy. (not a statement aimed at you, the anon)
People are taking issue with the article even wanting to have a nuanced discussion about the word proship, when they should actually be taking issue with the fact nobody knows who our enemies and allies are anymore because we keep inventing new ways to include our personal """squicks""" (for lack of a better word, not huge on the word squick tbh) into it. Just say what you hate, it's fine. I hate people who abuse children, I hate people who abuse adults, I hate terfs, I hate fascists, I hate incest, I don't like pregnancy, eye stuff is weird, death makes me really upset, I think I should be allowed to kiss Rom the Vacuous Spider. Really easy to just say that in no uncertain terms. Anybody of all languages can pick up what I'm putting down.
If someone from another country cannot understand the point you're trying to convey without you first giving them a fandom history lesson as to what it really really means for REAL to be called a proshipper, idk maybe just say you hate pedophiles instead, coward (not calling you, the anon, a coward. I have aimed this at God himself).
And keep in mind too, this is barely a fraction of a tangent to a larger discussion that could be had about this, philosophically. We haven't even touched on the effect media has in real life, the dissolution of fandom minors being able to have safe friendships with fandom mentors, or even how the recent infighting of fandom, and fandom """""Purity Politics""""""" of the last 5 years, can be traced back to decisions made by corporate web3.0 wanting to monetize its 3 biggest platforms SO BADLY that it refuses to create spaces for minors to escape adults. A minor cannot even play roblox without being under threat of a 30 year old content creator existing near them, and I think that's fucked up.
A real plethora of nuanced discussion here to be had.

Jilypad Week Day 4: Favorite type of story that you like to Read and/or Write for this ship?
There are so many types of stories that I love to read or would love to read / write in the future… so I made a list! Under the cut because this got long.
@jilypadweek
Established Jily falling for Sirius and trying to lure him into their bed/ relationship by any means necessary as an absolutely top tier fic plot that I cannot get enough of. Not only does it have James and Lily giving Sirius the love and attention and wooing he absolutely deserves, BUT Sirius can also be having major crisis at the same time. Sirius freaking out because he is already dealing with an inappropriate crush on his best friend, but now he’s also developing an EVEN MORE inappropriate crush on his best friend’s wife is just such a good time!! And it can include so many of my favourite tropes from the misunderstandings and mutual pining and obviousness. Wedding Jitters by @siriuslystarbucks has this kind of plot and its amazing! Maybe even my fav jilypad fic of all time.
Hot jilypad smut is always a winner. All three of them are far too attractive. Some favs in this catagory are Shh by penknife and Dark-haired men by julestales, Royalty by @jmagnabo92
Jilypad being brilliant, ruthless, capable and far too protective and loyal to each other during the war is another catagory of fics I love. These are two of my faves The Rule of Three by Ahida and Le Mot Vagabond by ironicallyinternational (both WIPs but moving toward jilypad).
The three of them raising Harry together. I love the wholesomeness of this trope. But also love Pen’s metas on the three of them just being the hottest parents ever (which I want to link to but now can't find 😭😭 why is tumblr's search function like this 😭). And if raising Harry is paired with Jily trying to get Sirius into bed / a relationship with them (like type 1) then all the better!
(this turned into a bit of an unintentional list if my fav jilypad fics - I feel like they are always getting lost in my bookmarks so yay for a useful reference tool! Also I missed a whole bunch I am sure and there are probably another bunch I am yet to discover :))
And now onto the types of (or more ideas for) stories I would like to write or (preferably given my too long list of WIPs and lack of time) encourage someone to write so I can read haha:
I really want an atmospheric slow burn jily to jilypad story where the war takes a particularly nasty turn and to protect Harry, the three adults take Harry into hiding in the middle of nowhere. All they have is each other, they’re living off the land because they can’t be spotted even by muggles and maybe they aren’t allowed to use magic in case its traced. And by all rights they should be bored out of their minds, but they are just so grateful that they are all still alive. And Sirius, James and Lily just get closer and closer and the tension just builds and builds until suddenly it just snaps.
I’ve also fallen in love with war fic idea kind inspired by the Pearl Harbour movie (and also very much inspired by the Care of Magical Shippers podcast episode on Lilypad). James and Lily are together but James gets captured by death eaters and everybody think he's dead. Sirius and Lily lean on each other, grieving together, protecting each other and helping each other move on... then *things* happen between them. And they are riddled with guilt but James is dead, right? and surely he'd want them to be happy. But then James turns up alive! And everyone is drowning in guilt and feelings, both Sirius and James try to step out of the way of the other, because they love eo so much and want the other to be happy (even if it means they end up alone without either of the people they love). And Lily can't bring herself to make a decision because she loves them both so much. Everything is a big tangled mess until they release that nobody has to step aside as all three of them love each other, and its all gooey and happy in the end!
I know there are more too but I'm running out of time and this is way more than I expected to write so this will do :)
