would anyone happen to know if this hairstyle that Sansa often wore in the first seasons of Game of Thrones has a name? or at least any ideas or theories about what real-life hairstyles it was inspired by? it's one of my favorite styles in the whole series (and is one of my favorite fantasy or period-drama styles in general), but damn is it un-searchable.
#based on what little I know part of me wants to assume that it was partially inspired by the Japanese fukiwa hairstyle#but just medieval europe-ified by using braids rather than just wrapped hair. because the kingslanding dresses were vaguely Japan inspired#but I can't actually say that for certain & also that doesn't make the style any easier to search lol#got#game of thrones#sansa stark#fantasy drama#period drama#hair#hairstyles#costume#costume design#question

I don't really have a final conclusion for this, I've just been thinking recently that I appreciate the effort Shannon made to say its okay to learn differently than others and have unique needs, however Exillium being the medium through which that message is conveyed in Unlocked falls short (at least for me) because...that's also the punishment school. Having different educational needs and being sent to a different school--not to mention one that's not even part of formal society and is literally in the wild--for poor behavior/choices are two very different things, but they've been lumped together.
Yes, it's entirely okay to learn differently and have unique needs, but that's not why kids get sent to Exillium. It's not a school to help accommodate their learning. Kids are, from what we've seen, sent almost always because they've caused problems and are deemed unfit for the typical schools. Disruptive, problematic, criminal, lesser, etc. So also having it be the alternative learning school kind of implies a correlation between having different needs and making poor choices/having problem behavior. Like none of these students "learn differently" (that we've been told at least) they caused problems (intentional or not) that people didn't want to deal with. Maybe this isn't representative of all Exillium students, but it's all we've seen so far that I can recall.
And yes Exillium is improving and did have a positive initial intention, but as it is right now I find myself (personally, these are my feelings) uncomfortable at it being used to say its okay to learn differently. Because it doesn't feel like it follows through on that message. Having the school where kids with criminal behavior are sent out of sight separate from the rest of society being the school for alternate learning styles just doesn't sit quite right.
And yes, some of the kids sent there were just labeled disruptive/problematic and they didn't actually do anything wrong but be themselves, but their being fucked over by the system doesn't change that that is how the system works.
I'm not really going anywhere with this and it's difficult to articulate (I'm sure I've missed a few clarifying points because I keep debating with myself back and forth) because I do think Shannon meant well, I'm not an expert, and there are always arguments to be made to the contrary (like I said, I've been debating with myself). It's just something I've been thinking about because I always feel icky reading that part of Linh's Exillium commentary, but maybe I'm making a problem out of nothing.
#kotlc#kotlc discourse#i keep doubting myself like is there actually anything there or am I making this up#i don't think I am?#for aforementioned reasons#and also...what alternate learning does it even show?#i don't have experience with accomodated learning styles so I can't say for certain#but I thought it was about learning the same things just in different ways presented differently#exillium isn't teaching them differently its just teaching them different things entirely#perhaps I am in over my head#and the fact exillium's being criticized and improved renders this null#and the fact students were having problems in the usual schools does indicate a different learning style thus rendering this null#but it just doesn't sit right with me#like none of these students 'learn differently' they caused problems people didn't want to deal with#and I. don't like that the two are lumped together#does any of this make sense?#long post#added one of these tags to the original post because i think it summarizes something well#i have read over this so many times. releasing it into the world now please be nice#<- doesn't not mean you cannot disagree or offer alternative perspectives just don't be rude about it#i'm genuinely trying to think and reason it through because I'm doubting myself and keep going back and forth#on whether or not there's actually anything to this

can i please.. request more of sentinel prime tfone… 🙏🙏 starved actually.. i LOVED ur fic..
TFO!Sentinel/High guard!Reader/Starscream [NSFW]
tw: pre-TFO, advisor!Sentinel (still a huge dick here as usual!), leader of the high guard!Starscream, possessive behavior, threesome, doggy style, gn!reader but they have a valve, PiV, blowjob. word count: ~1200 i wanted to post other fic i did before, but plans changed so yeah....i would sleep less but at least i made a sex fic with hot alien robots! anon, you asked for Sentinel but you also get Starscream as a gift :р
The fact that Starscream and Sentinel knew each other, at least to a level where one felt comfortable enough to mock the poor seeker while the other wants the false Prime dead...it just never leaves my thoughts. I wonder, how was their relationship before the fall of Primes? Before Sentinel became the self-proclaimed leader of Iacon?
As one of the high guards and protectors of Iacon, you always find yourself tied to Primes. As one of their loyal warriors, you are ready to defend your home against Quintessons in a sparkbeat. It is your duty, after all.
Your remarkable loyalty is one of the things that caught the attention of Starscream, at first. Attentive, obedient to the orders, respectful, what more could a commander dream of? You eventually find yourself right next to Starscream most of the time, during your shared missions.
But it seems a certain advisor of your well-beloved Primes just can't help but force himself between the two of you whenever he has a chance. It's hard to tell if Sentinel does this just to mess with a seeker, or was it a glimpse of jealousy you see in those pretty blue optics?
It wasn't really bothering you, really, most of the time, Sentinel was a nice company to kill some time with, even though you had to deal with grumpy Starscream on your back by the end of it. Be ready for him and his not so subtle, loud expression of dissatisfaction about it. If you had any idea what a parrot is, he would have reminded you of one.
“Can't you see that this fool is slacking off his duty just to come here and annoy me—no, us!?” he walks from one side, to another, a deep frown on the seeker's face, as he tries to control his anger.
“Yes, I can see that, Starscream,” you reply with a usual calmness, which, for some reason, just annoys him even more, as he gives you a glare.
“No you don't understand!” ...aaand here he goes again.
Regardless of the rivalry between the two bots, which mostly looks like a one-sided competitiveness from Starscream's side, you all have to work together, as one. That's why you can't just tell your Primes that your commander is a pain in the aft, because their advisor is apparently trying to drive their high guard's leader to nuts! What a day, huh? Imagine putting up with this for cycles. The idea of being able to live for millions of years doesn't sound so good now...
Sentinel tends to act in a more subtle way. The way he always makes sure to walk past you, flashing you a pearly white smile of his whenever he can, or maybe cracking some jokes, that would make both of you laugh. You barely even notice how he lays his servo on your shoulder, the act is so casual and yet, can't help but gain another hiss from Starscream, mumbling another curse towards the mech under his nose.
If you want two bots to start cooperating, make them share. Even though deep inside, they're all too greedy to do so. You can't exactly say that this is...what you quietly pleaded with Primus for. Not in a way like this, at least.
Finding yourself between the two mechs was overwhelming, suffocating, even. The proximity you find yourself in makes you shiver, your knees and arms hurting and slightly shaking, as you're positioned on all fours. Not to mention, that the position is more than just awkward.
“Now, now, can't you lower that squeaky voice of yours? Even our friend over here can't handle it,” Sentinel says, a voice hiding mockery by the image of concern, his servo encouragingly pets the top of your helm.
You can hear Starscream huff in return, his own pair of servos tightening around your waist, tugging you a little closer to him. Despite the situation, where the two were supposed to share, Starscream still keeps being a brat about it, you were his first, right? His comrade first, his subordinate, his, his, his— Why should he share with Sentinel, of all bots?
“You should shut your mouth before I slap it off your fragging...”
The way your valve clench around the seeker's spike makes him let out a strangled moan in pleasure, words dying on the tip of his glossa before he even has a chance to finish them, which only gains a cocky smirk on Sentinel's face.
“You're doing so good, sweetspark, you should see his face now,” Sentinel says lowly, his optics focused on your face. “He's speechless.”
Can he really blame Starscream for wanting to keep you all to himself? When you take him so, so well, swirling your glossa around the tip and making those cute little sounds, whenever he forces your head down his spike? You can feel his spike twitch in your mouth, leaking droplets of translfuid, and a short after - receiving a groan from the mech.
Does it really take all of this just to get some peaceful and quiet moments with you three? For both of them to finally shut their mouths and concentrate on more important things to do right now? Not like you're totally against it, though.
The way they're both, panting and overheating mess right now, squeezing, holding, and caressing every smooth part of your armor makes you arch your back into the touch, wanting..no, begging for more. Starscream is more than happy to serve, his hips snapping back and forth, driving his spike deeper inside you.
If the circumstances were different, he would have held you closer, pressed tightly against his chassis, with his servos around your waist and his face hidden in the crook of your neck. Would you like that? Be this close with him? Or you're just doing that because that blue moron is with you now? Starscream might annoy you with his constant complaints about this and that, but you certainly love him more. Are you? Please don't make him this desperate.
You feel Starscream's servos gripping your thighs harder, the feeling of your walls practically squeezing his spike makes his urge to overload right now almost unbearable. Almost, almost there, you can tell this by the way his optics are half lidded, and he bites his lip so hard, just to keep his own needy noises hidden. It would kill him to let Sentinel hear him this pathetic just from a quick fuck in one of the abandoned rooms.
If only the poor seeker had any idea how much of a desperate mech himself Sentinel is right now. His spike is pulsating and jerking more frequently with each passing second. Unlike Starscream, Sentinel would make sure the other mech heard everything. The soft “keep going”, “just like that”, or a “taking us so, so good, sweetspark” constantly heard from him. He likes how good your mouth feels around him, making him buck his hips into the feeling, he also likes how good his own voice sounds (he's a self-centered bastard, what do you expect?), but he likes it even more watching the other mech in such a state. If every time he toys with and teases the leader of the high guard, he ends up in a situation like this...Sentinel would love to keep this up.

Can i request headcanons of hunter with a Romantic and platonic s/o that is like flutershy from mlp? Like, extremelly shy, meek and sweet, loves all animals no matter how dangerous they are and probably a beast keeper,i hope is not to much for you, keep doing good work and take care🫶
Oh yes! Yes! Thanks for the Request!
Hunter Noceda x Fluttershy! Reader
Genre: Headcanons
Reader: female
Warnings: this include Golden Guard Hunter so, he's kind of a adorable jerk sometimes, but it gets better, Reader is very shy and kind, Reader is a Beast Keeper, References to Belos but nothing grafic. Fluff.
As always a little context.
reader has always had a great connection with animals (perhaps her parents could have been farmers or already part of the beast coven?) and this was both a great advantage and a double-edged sword.
On the one hand, she could be quite safe in Bonesburgo compared to the average, since she could VERY easily tame the creatures that came across her, be they fairies, spiders, any creature.
Her family may even have been able to make a living from this lol
However, it also had its bad side since reader was not able to see that most of these animals and creatures were only friendly and docile to HER, generating incidents such as fairy infestations, bringing honeycombs of fire and causing injuries, things for the style.
Although, being bonesburgo, most people only saw readee as a very tender killing machine whom they should respect more than anything else xd.
Apart from that the affinity with animals only increased as she grew, drawing more attention.
reader joined the coven of beast keppers very early, gaining even more prestige, much to her bad luck.
Because precisely having had so much attention from such a young age made her become more shy and in a certain way reserved.
She simply doesn't like to be the center of attention, so she tries to be as discreet as possible.
More when sometimes she gets involved with famous creatures in smuggling or that Belos does not explicitly allow.
Maybe even thanks to this, reader tried to live as far away from people as possible, simply because that way she could raise her little animals and not so little animals in peace.
but obviously you can't always make a living from what you do in the garden (I would like to) and you go to the city from time to time for supplies.
NOW, I have two versions of how Hunter and reader may have met.
1- on one of these trips to the city or 2- the reader could be the apprentice of Eberwolf (the leader of the Coven to which she belongs).
For a certain matter of ease, I'm going for the second.
Training with Eberwolf is... strange, mostly because reader has to interpret everything he "says", but it's not as bad as one would think considering the feared reputation of the coven leaders.
Hunter would probably know at a superficial level about the existence of reader, mostly from the incidents involving her "little animals."
but I don't think they interact as such until the episode where Hunter wants to earn the respect of the Coven leaders.
There not only Hunter interacts with Darius and Eberwolf, but also with reader.
Maybe Eberwolf is trying to get Reader to go with Hunter to improve her social skills since they are both of a similar age, or maybe he just wants to annoy her, we don't know.
or even reader may be one of the few people who actually stay when Hunter calls the Coven leaders because well, he's the Golden Guard! He technically has a higher position than her and doesn't want to get into trouble.
and thanks to this small show of respect and "discipline" Hunter drags her with him to his mission as an "assistant" which, to the reader's discontent, involves interacting with people.
Regardless of how she has been assigned to Hunter, reader at first is used to just following him because she doesn't really know what to do in this situation, she is almost as socially inept as Hunter, so when they try to come up with ideas of how to get more people in to the emperor's coven, they unintentionally end up sabotaging themselves.
H: Do teenagers like the same things that we don't? rules, train-
R: fierce but cute animals? follow the strongest? silence?
H: animals that end our enemies for us? you are a GENIUS-
In a way they do bonding through their VERY WRONG ideas of normality and when they go to bring recruits they fail even more than in the canon.
(I imagine reader doesn't think much about FlapJack at first, she just can't help but see the Palismans as animals too, so she pretends she didn't see anything every time Hunter talks to him).
However, when the topic of the Flying Derby comes up, things definitely start to take shape.
I don't think Reader is weak basically, you have to have strength to handle wild animals even if they are tame, so when they practice a little, Hunter ends up QUITE impressed with how much weight she can actually carry.
(When he makes a comment about it he meant it as a compliment but it sounded ruder than he intended. He facepalmed for a long time).
Reader quickly becomes friends with Vinny and hee griffon, even telling her everything she knows about his specific breed type, diets, allergies, clothing size--
reader compensates her lack of speed with strength and her animals, speed is Hunter's strong point so they both complement each other quite well.
reader may even share a little of her philosophy with the animals (and people) to Hunter when they win, having a better understanding of each other and the "opportunities" they were given.
Even when the mission ends and Reader has to return to Eberwolf, Hunter continues to seek her out for other missions after that.
I would say that for quite some time their dynamic is like a "villain" that no one takes seriously with a faithful "servant", except that Hunter treats the reader as a sidekick or teammate. He doesn't feel like he can do the job without her.
especially when her positive affirmations become something he EXPECTS, or he gets used to having hair from whatever animal the reader brought with her that time, or when he learns to sharpen his hearing to hear whatever the reader murmurs when she thinks that He's not listening (which he's not doing! Not at all!)--
Let's say it's obvious to everyone except them.
If we talk about a relationship in general, it is a perfect balance.
Hunter wants to pretend for a long time to be the perfect guard, who doesn't make any mistakes and who is arrogant and so on. but in reality he is much more in need of attention and AFFECTION than he wants to admit.
reader is someone who evokes a certain tenderness and kindness, someone who you would think would be incapable of harming a fly, but is much stronger than she seems, she could perfectly turn all the fauna of the Boiling Islands against you--
Hunter learned quickly not to underestimate reader and sincerely likes that she can handle herself, of course, it doesn't mean that he doesn't like to show off a little and protect her from time to time, but knowing that she can protect herself leaves him very in peace.
Hunter wants to know as much as possible about the reader's interests to be more helpful when her "little animals" get out of control.
I honestly think Hunter is surprised how the reader can find any of the creatures on the Boiling Islands remotely endearing (except maybe King?) but he definitely understands how her connection to nature (which doesn't want to kill her) helps the reader.
Hunter supports any animal his partner brings in as long as it doesn't bite her off a limb.
although the Hunter post Time Skipe is definitely much more into the topic of animals and will happily introduce the reader to the WORLD OF WOLVES.
Hunter is happy to have a partner with so much empathy and who sees the good even in beings who objectively cannot see them that way, having lived with Belos all his life. Hunter is truly touched by how the reader takes care of the animals as if they were her own babies.
Hunter will definitely fight for the reader's animals (not only for her, but because at this point he is as in love with her as he is with the animals).
Hunter himself is shy, and although at first it was difficult for him to adapt to his partner's shyness, he quickly adapts and even feels safer with her because of it, because he knows that she will not judge him for having problems communicating certain feelings.
👏introduce👏reader👏to👏Darius👏both he and Eberwolf definitely saw it coming from afar, but Eberwolf still made good money.
READER TEACHING HIM HOW TO MAKE ANIMAL EMBROIDERY AND THANKS TO THAT HE DECIDES TO MAKE A FLAPJACK EMBROIDERY I CAN'T---
I know I just said that Hunter would not be overprotective, but I can see him being cautious in social settings since the reader's personality can be the target of either 1- teasing or 2- attempts to make her feel bad for that very reason, and Hunter ITS NOT HAVING IT.
Don't even get me started on unity day :,) Hunter would insist the reader not only not go to the congregation, but to RUN AWAY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. If reader didn't do it and, worse, was with Hunter by the time the drain spell passed, both of them would be heartbroken to see the other in so much PAIN.
We could say that it is even the reader's personality that helps him in especially dark moments, like when he is in the human world (without reader) he probably tries to cheer himself up or tries to think of an alternative plan thinking just " What would do reader?" and so even if it's just being a little happy thinking that "she would probably hug a "bear" or whatever that thing is"
GHAAAA DURING THE COLLECTOR SPECIAL HUNTER WOULD BE SO WORRIED ABOUT READER AND THEY WOULD HAVE TO PHYSICALLY PREVENT HIM FROM COMING AFTER COLLIE IF HE TURNED HER INTO A PUPPET---
reader is like his TORCH of hope in the black sea where Belos left him, which encourages him to get out of there, see all the possibilities, be HAPPY. and Hunter wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING AT ALL.
Shares, reblogs and comments are very welcome!

Ben 10 Omniverse isn't a terrible show, but it often misses its mark for the sake of comedy. And it's not even good comedy either; it's the same old "Lol. Ben's so lazy, ignorant, and irresponsible. It's a wonder how he keeps the Omnitrix at all! LMFAO" And it's like, okay, we get it. Everyone thinks Ben is a moron, but if Ben's a moron, what does that make the people who lose to him? 🤨
One of the times Omniverse misses the mark on what could have been a legendary episode akin to Adventures Time's "The Hall of Egress." It is the episode Universe v. Tennyson.
The episode about Ben going to trial for recreating the universe. Besides seeing Alien X fight, the episode doesn't make any sense. And I entirely blame writers. They did not think of the logistics of how a trial of this sort of magnitude would actually go. I wouldn't be surprised if the trial was just an excuse to see the celestialsapiens in action.
They wanted a reason to explain the different art styles and all the retcons. Which in itself is stupid. As the audience, we know why specific changes are made. They didn't need to hand-feed us retconning; it always happens.
But more to the point, the entire trial is a sham. And it pissed me off to no end!
1. Ben was never subpoenaed. Alien or not, you can't part the sky like the Red Sea and drag someone to court. You have to set an official date and time for trial, allow the defense to acquire a lawyer, and build their defense. This is basic shit, and if your excuse is that it's just a kids cartoon, that doesn't excuse bad writing.
I just can't stand when people brush over essential details.
2. Only in certain circumstances can you forcefully take a person to court. And that is if the suspected criminal is considered a danger to the public or a flight risk. And even then, it's an immediate arrest before going to court for a hearing. Ambush arrests are considered a last resort; considering Ben's positions as a plumber and wielder of the Omnitrix, Ben has little to no criminal record.
3. Due process, refering back to my earlier point, the celestial sapiens would have needed to give notice of charges, and Ben would need to be heard in front of an impartial tribunal. The entire universe is not an impartial jury. There's a reason any Rando can't walk into a courtroom and decide whether a person is guilty. What if several people aren't even aware of the trial? That could skewer the vote in favor of the Plaintiff (Celestialsapiens)
If the writers on Omniverse weren't so focused on having a hate boner for the main character, this could have been a great episode. And it is a hate boner because why else would they pick Mr. Baumann as the first witness. This dude had beef with Ben since early childhood before having the Omnitrix. His opinion is beyond biased.
Also, Rook took the first chance to air his petty grievances with Ben in front of the entire universe in a court of law, and that is beyond shitty. Ben being "ignorant of many things" isn't a proven fact; it's a personal opinion. Also, being ignorant is a crime?
And had Ben been sentenced to death or died in the trial by combat, what was the plan afterward? Rook carries Ben's body to his mother and says,
"Sorry, Ms. Tennyson, your minor child didn't have the mental knowledge and fortitude of a 50-year-old veteran; his death was totally justified. "
If Ben is ignorant of many things, it is because he is young and has only just started exploring the universe. Many toddlers should be behind bars if simply being uninformed is a crime. It's like the show constantly forgets that Ben is still young but insists on punishing him for it.
The court case is to decide whether Ben recreated the universe; his lack of knowledge and irresponsibility are not up for debate. Besides, Rook has only known Ben for a few months; I doubt that makes him a sound judge of character.
I wish they had brought different people to the witness stand. They could have made excellent callbacks by bringing characters like
Tetrax- He is literally the guardian of Omnitrix and decided that even at age 10, the Omnitrix was safe in Ben's hands. Also, the fact that Ben restores the planet Petropia can be used to defend Ben's recreation of the universe.
Reinrassig III- I'm sure the word of Highbreed Supreme would hold more weight in court than Mr. Bauman. A small store owner on a tiny planet in the far corner of the galaxy.
Queen Cicely of the Lewodan( ep. Con of Rath) - The mother of the Tiffin, you know, the baby Ben jumped down a man's throat to save. Ben broke the law by doing that but still prevented a massive war.
Magister Hulka- (ep. Basic Training) Hulka is a well-decorated Plumber and was Ben's academy instructor. Ben passed with flying colors despite disobeying orders, saving Hulka's life. He even gave Ben his medal for creativity and effective tactics. His word holds more weight than Rook Blonko's, a literally rookie in the plumber association.
Azmuth- do I even need to say anything?
Maxx and Xylene are more than familiar with the Omnitrix and Ben himself.
Paradox is literally the number one expert on the subject.
Could you imagine the cross-examination with these characters?
And even without proper character witnesses, Ben could argue that what is illegal is not always morally right.
What is the actual crime, the crime of caring too much? And if his crime is recreating the universe without prior permission. The celestialspaiens were a hidden society; how would he have gotten permission?
If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?
If Ben was the only living thing left after the universe was destroyed, did he really break the law since no one was there to uphold it?
Especially since he created the universe up until the very moment it was destroyed, so no time would have passed at all.
Ben's other option was leaving that universe for dead, and pulling a Rick and Morty, but he didn't do that cause he's not a sociopath.
The only angle that makes sense for this trial to happen is if it wasn't to prosecute Ben, but to send a message. The message that Celestialsapiens are not to be trifled with and that any attempts will be met with extreme prejudice and even death by combat.
The Celestialsapiens have recreated the universe multiple times, with even more drastic changes than just a smoothie flavor. I mean, Grandpa Max can't even open his eyes, and Azmuth's voice has changed several times. They literally point that out in the episode, and yet this is the first time a trial has ever been broadcasted to the universe.
In fact, this is the first time any other aliens have seen a celestialsapien save for Alien X. And even he was deemed a myth. So why now? Why the grand fan fair? Why broadcast the trial at all? They never notified the universe before.
It's because the celestial aliens were afraid for the first time since their conception. Their entire beings were briefly erased from existence and recreated, and they did not like it! Do you honestly believe that they changed anything about themselves after recreating the universe multiple times? Of course not!
But Ben doing that sent the species into a mental spiral of worry and anguish with the fear of not being completely yourself. The same curse they've placed upon the universe prior without any hint of guilt.
The trial was about establishing dominance to keep Ben from recreating the universe regardless of his reasoning. But also to prevent other aliens from attempting the same thing. That's why the trial was broadcasted through the galaxy. This was just a bunch of dick-swinging, so the celestialsapiens don't have to face any sort of actual accountability.

Love reading your thoughts on Laws character 🙏💯. Which kind of people do you think he wouldn't get along at all? What are his No-Gos he couldn't forgive?
This is another post grouping many different asks in one post! Please scroll lower for different questions!
Thank you! I love receiving such nice asks ❤ those few extra nice words besides just leaving a like really go a long way!
Which kind of people he doesn't get along with? I think there are a few factors to it rather than "certain types of people". First of all, let's take a look at Kid. He admits openly he kills anyone who makes fun or disagrees with him, and Law dislikes killing, because he's a doctor. So I guess he doesn't really like people who kill others like it's not a big deal. Coincidentally, in his first meeting with Drake that we see in the manga, Law mocks him by asking "how many people did you kill?".
Second of all, people who call Law a monster (or in Kid's case, talk shit about Law behind his back). Any time that happens Law ends up doing some nasty shit Hannibal-style like putting random limbs of people together, to show them who the real monster is (not him). Law might have a bad reputation (despite the fact he doesn't seem to actually kill anyone! Original owners of 100 hearts are apparently still alive, as well as every Marine Law fought against), and he might even play along with it to his benefit, but he's more compassionate than people give him credit for.
Third example would be people who don't respect their family or crews, or hurt children, or drug people to control and use them. Clearly family ties and his own crewmates mean a lot to Law, so people who go against their own blood, like Doflamingo, automatically are on his black list. It probably does help that Doffy is also a manipulator and I think Law has enough of people like that in general.
I would also say he dislikes bullies, but then he met Shachi and Penguin when they were literally bullying Bepo and later he still became friends with them. Which means nothing is truly set in stone for him and he might change his mind about people, as long as he understands them and their reasons a bit better. Well, I guess many people will disagree with my answer here, but that's my best guess. It's possible Law actually prefers people who are "good people", the same as Luffy.
Well well well... let's see, whenever people are dramatic around Law, how does he react? That might give us an answer why he "dislikes when people are dramatic".
In case of Tashigi, she was lashing out because she truly believed Law killed Smoker by ripping his heart off. She knew she's no match for Law, but she was hurting so much that all she could see were her own emotions and need for payback. Even if Law told her Smoker isn't dead there was a chance she wouldn't even listen, considering the state she was in. So what did he do? Ignore her pain? No, actually he switched her soul with Smoker's, so she could find out by herself that Smoker was fine and alive. That was his mercy. So, the answer would be: because when someone is dramatic it doesn't leave Law unaffected. He might act like he's beyond that and is just stoic and uncaring, but he is clearly anything but.
The same can be said when Bepo is super dramatic about his painful stomach in Wano. We know he won't die from it and will get better if he just listens to what Law tells him to do, but Bepo is exaggerating a lot there.
And the result? Law can't leave him alone, despite the fact he needs to manage the crisis situation with the Strawhats. The final result is disastrous and Luffy lands in Udon. Whenever someone overdramatizes their reactions Law has a hard time following his own plan and goals, he is ready to ditch everything. He says that Cora-san gave him a heart and that heart sure is very compassionate, and Law must be finding himself often in situations in which it backfires on him.
The same can be said about the situation with Shinobu who clearly exaggerates "whenever a ninja is caught, they take their own life or another ninja makes sure to kill them" and Zoro with his "this is my final attack. If it fails (and I die), the rest is up to you". Whenever someone is very dramatic it is somehow always very effective on Trafalgar Law. And he ends up doing whatever that person wants him to do. You want Law to do a certain thing? Just be dramatic about it, tell him you're dying (and be a good actor about it if you're faking), and he will do just about anything for you, lol.
I also elaborated a bit more about Law's weakness to cute things, which is also somewhat related to this, because the reason is the same: it appeals to his protective side.
Glad you liked it! I think Cora-san would indeed prefer for Law to just live his life any way he wants, he wouldn't even judge whoever he becomes in the future (a pirate, a marine, a village bum, a doctor), because Cora would be happy as long as Law is happy. He wants him not to feel limited anymore, for him to be free. Law aiming for revenge or dedicating 10 years to prepare a plan against Doflamingo would not be something Cora-san would be pleased with.
But if Law decided he wants the world government to pay for what it did to Flevance? I suspect Cora-san would actually support him in this. Because that's what Law chose himself to do, not for someone else's sake, and because it matters a lot to him. But would he still prefer him to chase after his childhood dream instead? For sure. For Cora-san Law is his hope, his legacy, his wish to do things right, that's why he would want Law to have the best life and live the longest possible. His love for Law is really beautiful, in a way it's the perfect family love, definitely up there with Bellemere's.
Hi, anon! I actually did write a bit about scenes with Law and Robin before. In case you didn't see it, I will leave you here with a link: https://www.tumblr.com/l-in-the-light/760794596720656384/. In first ask I analyzed their Wano and Dressrosa interactions, and in second ask below it I listed their similarities and tried to take a guess at how they would vibe with each other in the future.
Long story short, I really think Law did take some risk when he shared his hidden name with her, but he doesn't exactly trust Robin yet (which shouldn't be a surprise, they're both very reserved people, especially towards strangers!). Also fandom tends to forget that Robin and Law don't know each other's pasts. Law might know some stuff about Ohara, but Robin has no way to connect Law with Flevance unless he's the one to tell her about it. That link I left you with is all I've got for them for now, but who knows, I might be doing Law's relationships with each of the Strawhats (maybe as a series of posts) in the future. Of course besides Luffy, because I wrote already like 12 posts about Law with Luffy alone haha.
The simplest answer is: because Bepo is a mink, not a human. I know, I know, it sounds like the most boring answer ever, but that's how it is when it comes to Bepo and his special privileages of physical affection with Law. He's allowed to hug him, garchu him and touch him in general, and Law returns it by leaning on Bepo when he naps. Bepo is literally the only person Law allows so close to him, you don't see Shachi or Penguin touching Law.
Besides the physical touch, Bepo is also privileaged in few other areas, he seems to know Law is a D., for example, Law also told him about Flevance and probably more things about his past. But I'm sure Penguin and Shachi know all about it as well, all four of them are besties and they basically are friends since Law was 13. I guess any close friend Law would know for a decade (or more) would get the special privileages ;) tho it's probably also important that he met them so soon after losing Cora-san. They were there for him when he had no one left anymore.
When it comes to Bepo, Bepo likes to act a little like a younger brother Law would have to take care of. He's also a bit silly and has poor self-esteem, so it goes well with Law's protective older sibling side of personality. I think Bepo likes the attention so he might be occassionaly acting more immature or weaker than he actually is, just so Law pampers him a bit, lol. It's definitely very effective. But it's also mutual, Law seems to like to care for someone this way.
Some nice anon requested for me to write a seperate post about Law with his Heart Pirates, so when I get around to it, I will definitely try to elaborate on all the fun dynamics they share :)
He's definitely friends with Zoro. Zoro even wrapped an arm around Law in post-Dressrosa feast! Law also scolded him so openly in Wano, even holding him by his clothes like he's about to punch him (he would never though, so far Law has never punched anyone lol). Those two definitely grew quite close together. And in Zou they share a lot of comments with each other and when they both react to danger, Zoro says he will take this on himself, probably mindful of Law's arm that was still recovering.
And let's not forget that Zoro asks Law to take over the fight in the raid. We never saw Zoro trust someone *that much* before! Law even goes as far as saving Zoro a few times in that fight and gives him finally to Sanji (best person to leave Zoro with, 100%, no irony included, I swear).
Zoro trusted Law really fast, which is unusual for our resident strawhat swordsman. He was so suspicious of Robin, for example, but all it took for Zoro to hit things off with Law was one day in Dressrosa. Absolutely stunning. But not so surprising, he saw Law taking a blow from Doflamingo for the plan AND the strawhats at the same time, almost dying in the process, so of course that would earn him Zoro's respect. After all Zoro would do exactly the same, and Law did it despite the fact Strawhats aren't his own crew. Zoro probably sees Law as very responsible, daring (he aims to defeat Kaido, after all!), brave, respectful (towards the captain, Law never takes over for Luffy despite being older and more experienced!), protective towards people, serious and reliable. Those are all the traits Zoro would find very admirable. Zoro's faith in Law as a person who would take care of the Strawhats (to the point that Zoro has no problem leaving everything up to Law and just goes on a voyage around Wano) is really exceptional. It's like he believes in Law 100%.
Law on the other hand has a bit different experience with Zoro, I bet. He saw him being a great swordsman (so he earned some respect definitely), ready for sacrifices if needed and protective of others, kinda reserved but with good instincts and levelheaded most of the time, but also way too daring to the point he doesn't think too much about his own wellbeing, a bit lost and goofy (the whole Wano situation lol) and perhaps even a bit pushy (the last one is just my hunch, Law is even more reserved than Zoro after all and he wouldn't embrace anyone randomly like the latter did). If I would have to put it into just few words or one sentence, I would say that Law sees Zoro as someone he respects, especially in terms of strength and determination, but also someone he would worry about, because he tends to push himself way beyond his limits, endangering his own life all the time, and well, Zoro's gimmick of getting lost would definitely strike a protective side in Law as well.
That's why their relationship is a bit imbalanced, because it seems Law feels more inclined to take care of Zoro than Zoro feels the same for him. It's worthy to note tho that Zoro protected him in Dressrosa, even found his sword for him, when Law was the most vulnerable and immobilized thanks to seastone cuffs. I'm sure Law appreciated it a lot (he even says in Wano how important it is to trust your companions to have your back in the heat of the battle) and will not forget to return the favour as well, given the opportunity. He was probably also very touched when Zoro told him he's leaving things up to him. That kind of trust in Law's abilities and in him as a person feels very special.
They're also just two people who share quite a number of similarities. They're both rather deadpan, dislike emotional outbursts, are both levelheaded and logical (sometimes to the point of being dreadful, after all both Zoro and Law told Usopp to "just die" rather than betray the cause lol), and reserved. Might be why they get along so well together, they just share similar vibes. I totally adore their friendship! I wish more people would notice it. But then I wish more people would notice Law's friendship with Strawhats in general, not just with Luffy. He totally treats them as his second crew and I will die on this hill!
Maybe I really need to write those posts about Law and his friendships with the Strawhats.
Actually, yes. I think he is absolutely trash at opening to people, so he definitely needs people he can take care of, because they slip right under his defensive walls (and he can be a total impenetrable fortress otherwise). Just compare Law's first encounter with Luffy when he thinks Luffy is strong, independant and has a great crew, he totally believes Luffy doesn't need him in any way so Law acts super detached. Yeah, he talks with Luffy, but as soon as Luffy declares him as his rival, Law retreats without as much as a word. But when he sees Luffy helpless and dying in Marineford, suddenly it's Law who reaches out towards him. And it stays that way also in Punk Hazard. That's because Law realized Luffy is reckless and needs someone to watch over him (not even his own crew is able to do that at all times).
It's actually really hard to imagine him opening up or getting along with people who he thinks don't need him in any way. We have literally no canon example of that. Even Cora-san appealed to Law's protective side, because he was a total klutz who sets himself on fire by accident all the time. Even Kin'emon, with who Law became friends with, is a bit goofy and not very smart, so it's easier for Law, because he can help and protect him. This is all related to the fact that Law just really wants to save people, it's his "new" call in life after losing Flevance and Cora-san. Who knows what would become of Law if he never met Penguin, Shachi and Bepo, another people he could take care of and who care for him back?
This might be one of the reasons why Law also doesn't get along well with Kid, until he observed him actually acting like a child, not really thinking strategically. Kid's idea of proving his worth is just to punch the opponent till they can't get up again. The moment Law realized that he started cooperating with Kid, even protecting him by distracting Big Mom in their fight. Without the Hawkins gimmick with the voodoo doll and Kid's bull/hippo attacks Law wouldn't do a thing for him. Law actually doesn't interact with many people canon-wise (you can easily count them) and it's a constant proof that he just wouldn't reach out to people or would even avoid them in general.
And sure, you can argue that Heart Pirates aren't strong so that's why Law keeps them around, because he feels responsible for them. But if you look at Strawhats, not every Strawhat is super strong either. Take Nami or Usopp or Chopper for example. They're good at what they're good at, but they can't deal with strong opponents at all. I would say it's kinda the same with Hearts, they're good at what they're good at, but definitely can't take on Kaido, Big Mom, not even Queen or King. But it doesn't mean they're just cheerleaders. The fact that they respect and love their captain so much is seperate from their actual fighting skills, imo. It's to show how much they appreciate, look up to and love him as their captain. Law might not have many friends, but those that he does keep close to him end up very dedicated to him. He definitely can attract people towards himself, he just doesn't. Unless they need him. It's not that unusual in people with strong survivor's guilt to behave in such ways that Law does.
I mean, I think I wrote a lot about it here: https://www.tumblr.com/l-in-the-light/761478106370424832/
The only reason I didn't elaborate on in that post was their first meeting, which clearly rubbed Law the wrong way. Kid literally talked behind his back about him and Law didn't enjoy that (he even flipped his finger at him). He hates when people call him a monster. Kid also called out Law on his "bad manners", and that must have triggered him, because that's exactly how Vergo talked to Law, always scolding him for not adressing him with "mister". Kid might have thought he's telling Law a compliment, but Law definitely did not think it was one. Law hated their interaction so much that he couldn't stand the thought of Kid doing any sort of favour for him (taking care of the Marines outside the auction house), and besides complaining about ordering him around, he refused to talk to Kid at all.
It was the same in Wano, Kid literally had to mock and tease him to get any sort of reaction out of him. Seems when Law holds a real grudge, it runs deep. But once he knows the person a bit better he can get over it. He just didn't have occassion for that with Kid before and also probably wasn't very interested in him either, before he learned Luffy friended him and basically dragged him to the raid as well. Surprise! So Law had to learn how to interact with him as well, and at first he wasn't exactly nice to him anyway, even dodging Kaido's attacks, uncaring that they will fly right towards Kid lol. By the end of their co-op fight against Big Mom Law grew a tiny bit fonder of Kid, I guess. Just a tiny bit.

Do you have any idea why Nana continued to dehumanize Shigaraki after learning that her murderer groomed him to be evil?
I think what a lot of people don't get with the whole "you might have to kill Shigaraki" thing is that Nana (and Torino by extension) aren't removing his autonomy when they say that.
At a certain point, it doesn't matter who's fault it is for turning someone into a villian. The entire purpose of Deku's rematch with Muscular is to make it clear that some people aren't going to stop destroying things and hurting people by talking about their abusive dad or their dead mom or whatever tragic circumstances led them here.
Tomura has also reached a similar point, refusing to compromise on his goal to destroy the causes of his suffering. That includes both All for One and the society that left him to rot. AFO meticulously planned a lot of Tenko’s misfortune but he didn't manipulate the strangers that passed him on the street. He didn't create that feeling of abandonment, only pointed it in the wrong direction. Tomura not making this choice for himself because he was groomed genuinely doesn't matter anymore because these are his choices now. He's shown multiple times to understand that AFO is using him against All Might and for his own ends, but he doesn't try to get away and turn to the heroes; he tries to get away so he can be a villian on his own terms.
It's easy to forget, since he's the protagonist, but Izuku's optimism about saving the crying boy at the core of who Tomura is, is a massive outlier and his leaps in logic aren't always solid. Nana is very callous when she talks about it, my personal guess is it's because she's still not fully willing to face her sense of guilt that her attempt to save her son from AFO led to the creation and abuse of Tomura. But she is still correct, regardless of what pain lingers inside Tomura, it is too late to help him.
Even when Izuku reaches his hand to Tenko when he is at his absolute most vulnerable, he maintains his loyalty to the league. He's been cast from society for so long that there's nothing that can convince him to stop. He would rather die destorying than live in a world he couldn't change.
In fact most of the major deaths in the league maintain this theme. Twice would rather die fighting than let his friends get screwed over by his own shortcomings again. Toga would rather die a free girl that lived as she pleased than fall in line with society. The heroes didn't choose to kill any of them from the outset, they could have gone quietly at any time to save their own skin, but their cause was more important.
This is what Nana means when she maintains that Shigaraki dying is a possiblity that needs to stay on the table, because he won't allow anything that isn't victory or death. It's tragic but I think it helps convey the message that the ending wants to, that change in how we treat the strange and disparaged doesn't just need to happen, but it needs to happen sooner. You can't just wait until a villian tries to blow up the country to try and help them, you need to give that kindness to everyone before those villians can even exist.
Sorry this got off topic because I really hate how people simplify the ending as bad writing when to me it seems really obvious that Horikoshi was going for a bittersweet ending with the league. They did destroy society but didn't live long enough to see what it rebuit into because even trust in one person trying to save them isn't enough when you're this far gone.
Either way, Horikoshi's writing style leads to a lot of necessary intuiting about the characters to actually understand the motivations for how they act. I think Nana ends up being a particularly rough victim of this because her stoicism and blunt attitude is very obviously supposed to be a front.
She opened herself up to others and All for One killed her loved ones, so she guards her heart the best she can to avoid showing more weaknesses. She does feel like a failure to her legacy; she never fully believes she made the right choices regarding Kotaro or Tomura. But if she cracks then not only is she done but AFO will make it his duty to twist the knife and hurt the people she cried for too.
She's a contrast to Izuku serving as a cautionary what-if scenario if Izuku's big open heart just makes more people targets by association (which it does!). She's not entirely right when she calls Tomura a monster but she isn't being entirely honest with herself either.

Reaction to seeing their Partner's Hyper Feminine Home Decor
꒦꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒦꒷꒦꒷꒷꒦
Warnings: Jake is dirty minded for a split moment but nothing happens. The feminine spanish word for doll is used but I don't actually have reader's gender or pronouns mentioned anywhere. So if you're a guy living in hyper-fem decor you're good
Author’s Snip: A few things. When I say hyper feminine, I don't mean the Barbie Dream house kind, though I do love the look it has, or the Senrio kind of feminine. I'm talking about the soft and cottegecore-esk type of hyper feminine. Also, I don't want to exclude Marc but i can't think of what reaction he would have to this scenario.
If you want you can reblog saying how you think he'd react. I love hearing your guys' opinion.
I’ll shut up now. Enjoy! And don’t be afraid to request.

Steven Grant
When Steven offered to maybe go to your place and you gave him the heads up that you had very hyper feminine decor he didn't think that much on it
If anything he just thought that most of the furniture was going to be pink and you'd have feminine designs and patterns on a few things
And he was kind of right
But when you unlocked the door and let him in he was taken aback
Everything was so dainty and soft looking. Most of the colors were light and extremely soft pastels
Whatever you guys were originally going to do is completely out the window because Steven's just looking at everything in awe
"I feel like I just stepped into a fairytale or something." he says with a goofy little smile
He kinda feels like a bum with how his apartment looks. His is all cluttered and looks like an attic, meanwhile yours looks like you wake up with cute little woodland creatures
If you have canopy bed, with the sheer curtains to block out the light he looses it /pos
"This doesn't even feel real. I feel like I should pinch myself."
He honestly loves it he thinks it's a cute way to live. He really doesn't make any actual jokes at your expense.
He likes it's just lovely
Jokingly asks if he can spend the night sometimes because he just feels like he'd just get the best sleep ever
Jake Lockley
See, when to warned him that your apartment was decorated in a feminine way, he was expecting Barbie Dream House level
But seeing it makes him feel like he's in a vintage style dollhouse
When he looks around he's sort of doing it in both awe and also trying to see if everything is real because he feels like he's in some dainty little dollhouse
He feels so out of place as this big tough looking guy in this nice pastel apartment
It weirdly does something to him that he can't quite gauge
He thinks the decor is cute and he compliments it, don't get me wrong but like woah
You have such fancy and elegant looking furniture like the couch, your vanity, the rug
Don't even get me started on the bed
His mind goes a certain way when he sees your fancy and cute bed with the canopy curtains but his own mind shames him for thinking it because how could he in such a soft place
After that he starts calling you "muñeca" (doll) because you literally live like one

i almost posted this on the true detective subreddit episode thread but thought better of it:
I've gotta say… I feel like a lot of complaints people are having about this season of the show don't pass muster objectively when held up against Season 1. Melodrama, "unrealistic" dialogue, complaining about being shown too much about people's personal lives and not caring about the characters…
There is so much unrealistic dialogue in season 1. The way Marty and Rust during their video interviews just come in talking about some big philosophical idea or "life wisdom" nugget in the middle of the episode (nobody talks like that IRL). The scene with Marty's daughter and the princess crown, for example. Marty cheating on his wife multiple times isn't like, objectively "more interesting" than Evangeline's sister having mental health issues or Liz being sexually promiscuous and a mess.
I've seen season 1 probably 10 times and I adore it but a lot of the angry comparisons people are making to S1 kind of just come off as straight up misogyny at a certain point. Like it rubs people the wrong way because it's women. Complaining about Liz and Evangeline going to the dredge without backup but when Rust and Captain America Marty Hart do something like that it's believable?
I don't think anyone's obligated to like the season by any means but you can just say you aren't feeling it as opposed to trying to make these apples-to-apples comparisons to season 1 that really don't hold water; I think people are just a lot more willing to accept this type of storytelling when it's about men and kind of has a fetishization/shame angle with masculinity in general. Like S1 is very masculine but it's also a love story. idk. I'm gay so I should probably stick to Tumblr for talking about this show, ya'll are wild.
----
idk watching people who are probably white dudes complain on Reddit that we are seeing too much "native culture" on the show strikes me as really icky.
i recognize that these are reddit comments and not like, actual media criticism but i think it says a lot about how people are conditioned to understand storytelling in general. like there's still so much fucking misogyny and white supremacy in our mainstream media and i realize a lot of people wouldn't say it out loud but i think they genuinely just find it exhausting that they're being asked to contemplate the interior lives of native alaskans and women by watching this show lmao
(that's not a value judgment about how well it is doing at depicting Iñupiat culture because i'm not the person who gets to make that judgment but it REALLY rubs me the wrong way that people can't STAND even seeing it depicted)
(i think the fetishization of the American south also has a lot to do with it, like people are very willing to accept the aesthetic style of the American south as a vehicle for crime/mystery/possibly supernatural storytelling because it really doesn't challenge any conceptions they might have about the genre) (it helps that Woody Harrelson and Matthew McCounaughey are native southerners with great acting talent and natural screen chemistry who really took Season 1 to a higher level, in no small part thanks to their uncredited script doctoring. with lesser actors I think the story falls flat as hell because you need them to sell a rich relationship and complex inner lives with their performances because SO MUCH of their relationship is subtextual) (so when people see these great acting performances in the context of a police procedural set in Louisiana i think they're very pre-conditioned to elevate it to an almost mythical status in the genre because it doesn't present TOO many challenges to a conventional worldview about who has power and agency in stories)
like I said i've watched season 1 probably 10 times. it's very good. but it does MANY of the same things that people are complaining about regarding season 4/night country in terms of showing a lot of relationship/sexual drama for the leads and their Tragic Pasts. they just don't like it. which is fine. i just think it's a disingenuous angle to approach criticism of the show.
like if any actor other than McConaughey were doing Rust's monlogues in S1 it would not have been very good because it would have come off like self-serious edgelord shit, which is what it actually was (pizzolatto sucks) before it ended up in the hands of competent producers and performers. instead it really comes off like a man who has suffered and developed this worldview genuinely, within himself, not as a way to wield power over others but to protect himself from harm.
anyway....
for my part, i wanna know what the fuck is up with the spirals and the bad CGI polar bear visions and i'm going to be disappointed if it's not just some massive red herring designed to freak people out a little because that's what we deserve.
but in terms of like, the characters' lives, i generally find them very interesting. the opening scene of episode 3 with annie genuinely moved me to tears. annie seems like a fucking cool person and i would love another flashback about her.
i love that liz is a fucking asshole who is constantly being forced to confront her own behavior as racist, self-centered, impulsive, etc.
i love that evangeline is a very lonely person just barely keeping it together. kali reis is putting on an amazing performance. also, for the record, i'm VERY gay.
i wanna know more and there are only 2 episodes left and i hope it sticks the landing so i can write a big actual essay about what it did well from a storytelling perspective!
gosh i just love serialized fiction on the television

Loona x reader???
I just did general dating headcanons, I hope that's alright ♡
Loona dating headcanons (gender neutral)
Content warning(s): none that I'm aware of
Dating Loona is basically like having permanent scary dog privileges
No one wants to do or say anything that might upset you or otherwise accidentally piss her off because most people are smart enough to realize not to make her mad
The two of you as a couple also follows along the lines of the "I hate everyone but you" trope
Loona will snap at anyone who so much as looks at her wrong, but with you?
Literally a huge, overgrown puppy
If you're ever mad at her or have a fight she's a lot more rude than usual while simultaneously pouting that you're avoiding her
Doesn't always apologize first, but when she does you can tell she really means it
Likes when you pet her, even if she refuses to admit it </3
Will let you braid/style her hair to your hearts content as long as you ask first
Same thing with her makeup
Just don't make her look like a clown, intentionally or otherwise, because it's likely you won't be allowed to touch her face with any sort of makeup product ever again
She isn't the big or little spoon because she doesn't really like to cuddle or sleep real close (unless either one of you is upset)
Actually, you might not want to share a bed with her at all because she a) hogs the covers, b) flails around a lot in her sleep, and c) snores really, really loud
The only time those things won't happen is if you've fallen asleep on her accidentally
Loona will refuse to move even an inch, afraid she might wake you up
When she's certain you're definitely asleep, she'll be surprisingly gentle as she picks you up and carries you to bed
Really over protective when it comes to you
She knows just how awful hell can be, and she doesn't want you to get hurt
She also gets jealous really easily, which stems from her abandonment issues
If you spend so much time with someone else, you might realize how much happier you are with them and end up leaving her
Of course that would never happen, but she can't help worrying all the same
Shares her earbuds with you when you're listening to music together
Also shares her clothes, her makeup, her magazines... anything, really
You're the only person who has that privilege, by the way, so don't take it lightly
♡ Send in more requests here ♡

Interview with Thomas (January 9, 2011)
By: Andreas Burkert for Süddeutsche Zeitung
Mr. Müller, where is the Golden Shoe for the best World Cup shooter?
At home, in my games room, where the dartboard and Play Station are. Everything that has now accumulated is on the windowsill. Before it gets dusty in the boxes, I'd rather put it outside.
The reason for your award, Germany's World Cup performance in South Africa, was part of every annual review. Did you watch it when this Müller suddenly walks through the picture?
Of course I've also seen Müller in a few previews. But I don't necessarily have to watch the whole thing. The year went really well and I'm always reminded of that, even if I forget about it; I can't avoid it anymore. But it's over now. I can't buy anything for it anymore. Now I have to prove myself again.
What came up in your personal review of 2010 on New Year's Eve?
It was the World Cup. But there wasn't just one moment for me, there were so many great moments.
You only made your debut for the national team just under ten months ago, in Munich against Argentina.
Yes, that was special. When I heard the national anthem, I thought: Now I've made it, now I'm really where I want to be - (A German tourist of an older age approaches the table and wants an autograph. Müller asks for her understanding that he can't now, but will be happy to do so later) - Well, since the World Cup, even those who don't know much about soccer recognize you.
Just older ladies?
Nah, nah, all the age-group are already there.
Does at least your grandma, who you greeted on TV after the round of 16 against England, have some peace now?
In the meantime, yes. The problem was that my parents, my grandma and the people here in Pähl didn't have a media manager like we did at Bayern or the DFB. But I was back home over the Christmas period and everything was nice and quiet.
People who know you well say: Müller, he doesn't take off, not even now, he doesn't drive a Ferrari yet. Don't you have a quirk? And how do you reward yourself after a year like that?
I once asked myself the same question. We have a great sponsor, so I don't need a new car. But I do sometimes walk past watch stores, but then I see that they are sometimes really expensive. Then I'd rather not, it's not worth it to me. I'm also not a bird of paradise who dyes her hair. My wife rides, which has now become important for us. Apart from that, I really do have everything. I'd have to make my own problems if I wanted to have any.
Do you ride yourself?
I tried it out a year and a half ago. Well, I didn't fall off directly, but I felt sorry for the horse afterwards. The risk is too big for me and the horse.
2011 has started for you with the loss of a title: You no longer have the thinnest legs.
You mean because of Luiz Gustavo? Well, we haven't measured his thighs yet, but it's possible. People always joke about my legs, I know they always have. But don't worry, my mother has already noticed that they don't break much. They were never a problem for me, in fact I think they helped me, even when I was younger. Because if you don't just have your body to fight back with, you also have to use your brain to run certain routes to avoid direct duels.
Is that how this urge came about? Müller goes up top, to where the ball suddenly appears?
Certain things are certainly trained automatisms. But often it's a certain instinct, a feeling for the spaces. I'm glad to have this ability.
In any case, it's difficult to compare your style with another player. Do you perhaps know one?
No, I am somehow unique. There are dribblers who are pretty similar, strikers too, but what am I actually?
Yes, what is Müller?
Hm. Well, what am I? A Raumdeuter (space interpreter) ? Yes, I'm a Raumdeuter. That would be a good title, wouldn't it?
In any case. Because, if I may say so, you do score goals, but particularly beautiful ones are rare. But you are there.
That's true, I'm not known for scoring beautiful goals. But the important thing is when it's in. I've often been accused of being lucky, but if it happens five times in a row at the World Cup, there must be another reason for it
Your former amateur coach Hermann Gerland once said: "Müller can play like shit for 90 minutes - but then he scores a goal.
The statement is correct. I consciously take risks in my game, I often try things on the direct route towards goal that are perhaps great in terms of the idea, but difficult to execute. Mistakes happen, but you have to say to yourself: no more, next time I'll try again. Reviews sometimes say: He tried a lot but didn't succeed. Yes, then it just didn't work out. I try a lot, and there are a lot of rejects. I know that, and that's why I don't drive myself crazy.
Did you get the impression after the World Cup that your opponents adjusted better to your unconventional style?
Not really. The first half of the season was a bit different, I mainly played on the right or left. It just didn't go well for the team overall, no individual player was able to break away from the trend, not even me.
Your roles change frequently. Where would you have Müller play?
I would put Müller behind the front line, which is the position at Bayern that is closer to the opponent's goal and therefore more dangerous. I can penetrate the gaps better from there. You have to be more tactically disciplined on the right and left, and the number seven position in the national team is a different right than at Bayern, because the DFB always swap sides with Mesut Özil. I need a bit of freedom to be able to play on the left or right. That's why I see myself behind the front ten. But I'm versatile and also like to play other roles.
Van Gaal said last season: "Müller always plays for me". Has this confidence made your rise possible?
He didn't even need to make that statement. Because I always had the feeling that he was counting on me.
How did you notice that, his confidence? A year ago it was said that some players were afraid of van Gaal.
Oh, I like talking like him too. He wants to create a certain amount of friction, which is why he prefers his way of talking. I really like his direct manner, we're similar in that respect
You, but also other players, were unusually outspoken in your support of the coach during the critical fall weeks. Out of gratitude?
No, there was no agreement between us, but I think everyone deliberately supported the coach. You could have asked each player individually, independently of each other, and everyone would have told you how convinced they were of him and his philosophy. Of course, in a squad of 25, there is dissatisfaction from players who don't play. But even colleagues like Hamit Altintop or even Martin Demichelis have spoken positively about the coach. And when you see what's happening here in Doha at the training camp, how they're stepping on the gas: This team really enjoys working with this coach.
Were you not worried when President Hoeneß was sharply critical and things were tight with the headstrong coach?
Not really, and after the contract extension I had the feeling that the club management was counting on him. We were all very happy about that, and the coach was also pleased that he had the support of the whole team. That's why there was never any talk of a rift between players and coach.
Then you would actually have to persuade van Gaal to stay as long as you and the others who have now signed such long-term contracts.
I think if push comes to shove, you might be able to do something about it. However, the pressure here in Munich is certainly exhausting and I don't think you can be Bayern coach for ten years without damaging your health.
At 21, you are part of the Lahm/Schweinsteiger generation, which is gradually replacing the Ballack generation. What are the differences?
Football-wise, that's certainly a level. But I think even Michael Ballack experienced different times as a young player when it was more difficult to integrate into teams. There are now many young coaches who bring in their philosophy, with a flatter hierarchy. That perhaps makes it easier for us young players today.
At 21, you've already achieved a lot. What else is there to come?
I want to bite down hard, at a very high level. In ten years' time, I want to say that I've always played at the very top for a decade and my body has endured it, and fortunately so has my head. That's my main goal.

Dear Peach, did you see the Restaurant manager’s clarification on his post of noir_kia’s fan art?
“whw_hk__1.31 13h :
Silently, there are some weird posts, so l'll be precise. I love all of BTS and they're saying ridiculous things about guys dating, so please stop saying weird things on my social media. We love everyone and they are really kind and precious people. They are having a hard time in the military right now and we pray for their health and always cheer them on from afar and only those who wish them well should leave comments. If you're going to say weird things, do it somewhere else.”
I was not expecting him to say: YES, these 2 are a couple, but his stance is pretty strong. Can’t it be that we just overthink Taekook for more than just great close friends (just for now?)
I recently read an interview about a similar situation with Louis Tomlinson & Harry Styles and seems so familiar with what we do with Tae and JK…
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/louis-tomlinson-harry-styles-larry-conspiracy-1235001225/
Louis even sort of said all these rumors damaged his relationship with Harry. What do you think?
I'll be honest... I can't quite read the tone of his reply. I'm unsure which comments he's taking offence to.
At first, I thought he was saying guys dating was ridiculous and weird and was ready to be annoyed but I actually think it looks like some people overstepped the mark and that could be what he's calling ridiculous and weird.
He does also say "only those who wish them well" should leave comments so maybe what he's actually complaining about is people being aggressive in the comments.
It was, after all, him liking comments about them being married. Maybe he was just liking them because they were positive comments without really reading them. But I do think if he's taking umbrage at Taekook comments specifically - he doesn't specify - he maybe... should read what he's liking?! It could be unwittingly but he has contributed here. Like he posted that, nobody else did?
Maybe he just thought they looked like bestie best friends and didn't bother to click and see what else Kia posts.
I had a little bit of an initial "UHM WHAT?" response yesterday but then I chilled and thought "hang on, why would have insider information about them in any way?"
He is literally just a guy in a restaurant, it's hardly like they're coming in going "So we'll take six tables, free ice cream for armys and by the way, we're GAYYYYY. TOGETHER."
As for the Larry stuff, I was thinking about this earlier. I don't think a lot of people realise how little would change for me if it was revealed they weren't a couple. 75% of the time I'm arguing that it's not impossible that they are; that Tae is important to JK; that Jennie looked a lot like media play; that they're super close because Jimkookers seem incapable of accepting that. I'd still be here defending Tae against accusations of being an annoyance to JK who just shows up places where he is for clout. I'd still be arguing over Jungkook's unfair characterisation. I'd still think ITS was a truth-bending moment.
I'd still be arguing with y'alls over the same stuff.
I'd still find their faces at Dreamiere beautiful, I'd still find Hawaii wonderful. None of this changes in that eventuality and I always keep the possibility at the back of my mind.
So while yes, I do happen to believe it and would have a few confusions about why certain things happened, my life won't change much! So I don't feel particularly like I am overthinking. I'm not overstepping by going into lives or weverse or instagram posts to scream about Taekook to people who don't wanna hear it. I'm not even on twitter where I know they read! It's a clearly labelled Taekook blog and if you're here and reading this, it was because you chose to.
But I think it's REALLY important that you make your own mind up about how comfortable you feel in this space if this Larry article has bothered you. I can't be your compass on this.

hi let's talk about her
Honestly I have so much to say about her. so much. so here's some of it
-Asajj (NOT VENTRESS THAT'S HER LAST NAME ISTG PEOPLE JUST HATE USING HER ACTUAL NAME AND IDK WHY I GUESS IT'S A COOL NAME BUT ASAJJ IS ALSO A COOL NAME AND)
-Asajj was last seen in canon in the Dark Disciple novel. Where she died. I would never recommend that book to anyone so if you haven't read it yet please don't. In short, after becoming a Bounty Hunter in The Clone Wars she grew out her hair, got a cool yellow Lightsaber and for some reason teamed up with Quinlan Vos to try and kill Dooku. They didn't manage to do it. And Asajj died (was fridged) trying to protect Quinlan. The Bad Batch will not contradict that, as was said by the creators. So this is just a summary for anyone who hasn't read it because I wholeheartedly believe that book is bad
-I have not watched a single Bad Batch episode in my life. As a disclaimer. I started the first one, watched their TCW arc and saw memes screenshots clips and spoilers but I do not know this show. I will watch it now that Asajj's there tho
-She does not have the same outfit anymore! It's a change, and we haven't gotten a clear look at her new design so idk how to judge it yet. Might be to look less recognizable, but it has a very different vibe than any of her prior outfits. There's a leftover shoulder pad and probably some other stuff from her last design but I feel like they kinda clash with the new one and tbb's design language in general. The Bounty Hunter look has a very TCWish feel to it and this one is a sharp turn in another, much more casual direction. I'm not inherently against it but I guess we'll see how it looks in action soon
-In my opinion the hair looks like shit. I don't think she should have hair ever. I don't understand why she can't be bald. Why is she bald when she's evil and has hair when she's a padawan (good) and when she is "redeemed"? guess we'll never know. It's a leftover from the cancelled Dark Disciple TCW arc design (and the Dark Disciple cover and promotional material ofc) and it's bad if you ask me but to each their own and if you like it good for you
-Her Lightsaber!!!!! Same case as the hair in terms of irl development but I like it so much better. The yellow just fits her character and it's pretty. Would love for her to find another one and get back to dual-wielding (I know that won't happen)
-The bag and pouches make me so happy as a design element do you think she carries a (tooka) cat in there
-Now, visually she looks great and the animation style is smoother and nicer than TCW (as is the quality), but what about the direction the character's going in? I didn't like her being dead before, but I felt like it was somewhat better than her being shoved into being a cameo character in new content. If you can't touch her after a certain point, you also can't mess her up. But I do wonder where they're going with her. A few questions:
-Asajj in canon is a directionless character. Also, a partially nonsensical and inconsistent character in her choices and storylines. I've talked about it a lot but in short she just feels messy. What's her purpose in life? Her motive? Her origin story doesn't really make sense, even. She's a Bounty Hunter, sure, but why? If all she wants is revenge on Dooku and maybe money (which was pretty much the case in Dark Disciple), what's she doing after the Empire? And more importantly, why?
-Obviously, the question I haven't asked yet because I don't like it: How the fuck is she alive? Nightsisters have a weird relationship with death but seriously, how?
-She's a Force User after the Rise of the Empire now, so what does he do about that? Is she founding The Path? Fucking around and finding out? Making a not-Jedi-not-Sith order with other force users she finds? Is the Empire after her? Do they know she's live?
-What about her girlfriend? Is Latts Razzi safe? Is she alright?
-Why is she in The Bad Batch show? Are we making her into a cameo character or is there a purpose? Why'd they bring her back? For fun? What is she doing after the show? Floating in dead space? Cameo-ing? Will we have a book?
-OK enough for tonight but if we see Quinlan Vos in the show I'll become violent (/neg). We probably will (he might just get mentioned idk).
#daily asajj thought of the day#sw#star wars#ventress#the bad batch#asajj ventress#the bad batch season 3#tbb#star wars the bad batch#if you catch me watching only the asajj episodes of tbb and nothing else don't mind me#i still don't really care about that show#star wars the clone wars#tcw#if you read the whole thing thanks#i think i'm so interesting#this still feels unreal#need to remind myself it does not effect legends asajj in the slightest#to calm down#i'll draw some version of this design at some point#most likely

Sparkstember Day 13: Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat (Progress)
Pulling rabbits! What a cool little album. It was actually one of my earlier ones too (all thanks to Progress, which I heard beforehand and which left me in desperate need of more of that exact type of thing) and over time my opinion hasn't changed that much. It's cool! I think I can say that it got at least just a little bit cooler overtime though, because while originally it was mostly just a couple of standout tracks for me, I eventually warmed up to the entire thing. I never had any major problem with it, but it also just never stood out to me spectacularly. And maybe still doesn't. Well, at least it's fun to be able to randomly remember about it and enjoy some of that slightly less frequently heard music.
After stomping In Outer Space into the ground yesterday I feel the need to explain my opinion a bit more here. The thing however is that... well, it's hard to say what EXACTLY it is that makes me like this album but not the previous one. Even though they could be seen as pretty similar, there's still something that Pulling Rabbits has and IOS doesn't. It's funny considering that *Rabbits* is the flop album out of the two!
I just remembered that I like describing Rabbits as "aggresively 80s" because that's really what it is to me, and in a completely positive way. I'm pretty partial to this era and style of music, that for better or worse is mostly recognisable by the synthy sound (and also the 80s drum sound honestly) that you could not in any right mind use today without appearing very retro. Maybe IOS is more, subtly 80s? In any case, its whole spirit is a bit different I think. And this album is definitely a collection of very enjoyable tunes!
Favourite songs (and other highlights):
Pulling Rabbits Out Of A Hat
Love Scenes
Progess: can't say what it is that makes this song so incredibly cool to me but it's seriously so enjoyable and a real standout. Still feeling a little bit unfulfilled by the fact that I never really heard anything else that manages to capture the same certain type of *thing* and vibe as this one
With All My Might: song than unexplainably sounds like Christmas to me. Definitely not in any way connected to it being my jam around that time last year. It's so very nice and sweet!
A Song That Sings Itself: very similar case to the above song!
Sparks In The Dark Part One & Two: quite fond of these fun little instrumentals and I think they add some extra unique flavor to the album!
#been thinking of what to add in the tags for 5 minutes but maybe i just don't have anything else to say this time. hooray!#sparkstember 2024#my art#goose monologues

The queen herself!
design notes under the cut
alright, let's get started with the outfit-
The thing is that Ravens outfit is really cool, but it is a PAIN to draw, at least for me. There are some small details that come from them having to fit doll molds that drive me crazy, like the fact that Ravens shoes don't have heels but she walks like they do
I also had gotten really, really bored of drawing skirts, so pants it is
Ravens look is majority black with purple and silver accents, but I tweaked it a bit so that purple is the primary color, just for fun
The feathers were cool, but I wanted to save them for fancier looks, so instead I went with dragon wing style clamps on her jacket. It always bugged me that she was the first character with a dragon and that she didn't have any draconic features on her
Alright, so this is my explanation for the way she dresses in this interpretation- she doesn't want to be seen as evil, but her wardrobe is literally cursed to make any and all clothes she tries on as much like her mother's as possible. So she has to try and mold it to her own style, like "ok what's the most normal thing in here" but she's going through Goth Skeletor's closet and this is what she's managed to put together. I'd say she did pretty good! Cravat is a little much though
Yes she only wears one glove, that's on purpose. It was gonna be that the gloved hand is her primary spellcasting hand, but I immediately ruined that, so now I guess that's just something Raven thinks looks cool
Ok now the more character lore stuff
That weird little skull nightmare next to her is Prince! I don't have and have never read the books, but I have spent a lot of time going over wiki pages to try and find details I can incorporate into these designs. Apparently when Raven was a little kid her dad got her a puppy which she called Prince. At some point her mom decided it was unfitting for an evil princess and transformed him into whatever the hell a bone rat is. Needless to say, traumatizing. I can't stand a single even vaguely negative thing happening to a dog, so I'm deciding that Prince is alive, kind of immortal since he's undead-ish, and maintains the same memory and personality. He lives with Raven's dad when she's at school and he's a very good boy, he's just really, really weird.
Yeah I don't know where I'm gonna fit Nevermore in, I think she's just gonna have to join the canon with the rest of them in Dragon Games, cause I like Prince way more conceptually tbh
Evil Raven cause why not. I actually have some ideas on how the queen lineage would work, especially because Raven seems to completely control every aspect of her powers after signing in Way Too Wonderland. I really like the idea that as the next queen grows they gain more magic, but because they siphon it from the previous generation. Raven had a natural affinity for basic spells her whole life, but after a certain age she started to take her mom's powers, which are the new ones she can't control. Plus, I like that angle on the whole jealousy thing. The Queen isn't just bitter that Snow White is more fair than her, it's the double whammy of knowing that no matter what she does, her power will be drained away and made pointless by both Snow and her own family. Usurping based angst

farleigh analysis PART 3, because i might as well do the entire movie at this point. i'm locked in. this is going to cover the early-saltburn summer era. AKA, oliver's once in a lifetime, hand job on a haybale, golden big boy summer. everything after venetia and oliver's sex scene is in another post on my blog. this one is pretty short.
[0:34:42] (they're watching superbad. teehee.)
farleigh looks borderline revolted in the background of this shot, which is so funny to me. superbad is, in my opinion, notoriously rude. the comedy is hollow, childish, homophobic, etc. even seth rogan admits that the movie is tone deaf and aged horribly. that's neither here nor there, though. all i'm saying is that i can't imagine farleigh would enjoy the movie as a queer person.
[0:35:19] elsbeth: is that right, he had to put his fingers down his mother's throat to make her sick? farleigh: yeah. felix: farleigh, that's private stuff! farleigh: well, you told us. felix: in confidence!
when elsbeth initially asks the question, she's looking directly at farleigh. yet, when felix confronts farleigh about discussing private matters, farleigh responds with "well, you told us." meaning the family, i assume. felix had no issue with elsbeth and pamela discussing oliver's home life until farleigh was very moderately involved. it's odd to me. and yes, felix is the one that told them. moral superiority, or something. having someone to blame, even when you enabled their gossiping in the first place.
[0:35:34] elsbeth: we should give him the most wonderful time! farleigh: good luck, he doesn't smile much. elsbeth: farleigh seems to think he's ghastly. why are you friends with him, darling?
really, you can tell that elsbeth likes farleigh. she respects his opinion to a certain extent. i also talked about the tutor scene in part 2, and how i consider the "style over substance" debate a metaphorical parallel to farleigh over oliver. here, farleigh once again points out the style of oliver's social interactions: he doesn't smile much. when you look at this from a social and... neurotypical perspective, lacking a smile during conversation can mean a lot of negative things. farleigh seems to have a dedicated focus on arbitrary social expectations, largely because he has to.
[0:35:33] farleigh: and here he is now! we were just talking about you. elsbeth: don't be silly! farleigh, you just make up the most awful things. of course we weren't!
once again, in traditional catton fashion, farleigh is scolded for saying doing something that contrasts the cattons saviorism. obviously oliver knew they were talking about them. i can't blame elsbeth for attempting to backtrack, but "farleigh, you just make up the most awful things" is a weirdly unnecessary throat punch. she's stepping on farleigh to appear taller, if you will. at 0:36:34, when elsbeth asks oliver to sit by her, farleigh looks so exceptionally irritated. he rolls his eyes, looks back towards his computer, and sighs dramatically. wonderful. he's so sick and tired.
[0:37:20] elsbeth: i've lost so many friends to addiction. so, so many dear, dear friends. it's the root of poor pamela's horrors too, i'm afraid. farleigh: and the only interesting thing about her. elsbeth: farleigh! no, she is rather dull, actually. but she's so beautiful. you have to admit, she's very beautiful.
elsbeth and her obsession with physical appearances. once again, style over substance. and her outrage at farleigh refusing to soften the blow on his statements, before following it with her own (albeit less crude) dig at pamela. style over substance. wouldn't it a little uncanny, a little scary, to be the only person of color in a household that places physical appearance on such a high pedestal? especially a household as ignorant as the cattons. that's just conjecture, though. oliver has the ability to manipulate a space for himself in the family without sacrificing any of the qualities he began with. he never really smiles more, throughout the summer. he never really loses his signature awkwardness, his imposing energy.
[0:40:05] elsbeth: you know we're delighted to have you for however long it is you mean to stay. farleigh: forever...? pamela: oh, no. i think i might have, erm, found somewhere. elsbeth: oh, well done, darling! james: oh, good!
right after james says "good," you can see farleigh turning to look at him. prompting james to drop the hatchet on pamela's prolonged stay at saltburn, i'm assumng. this is what's interesting to me, i think. again, farleigh lacks the drive to play the same game as oliver. farleigh doesn't want to nurture the charitable actions of the cattons. farleigh believes the other guests at saltburn take up the space that he would otherwise fill. just like at oxford, when felix is sitting with someone else, farleigh is discarded. when elsbeth invited oliver to sit next to her, farleigh looks annoyed. the cattons capacity for attention and kindness is depressingly small. farleigh isn't playing chess, he's trying to win by sheer survival of the fittest.
for the next few, brief scene of farleigh and oliver interacting, oliver repeatedly proves that he does his research. i can't get over it, to be honest. neither can farleigh; if looks could kill, oliver would've been dead within 10 minutes of arriving at saltburn. the methods farleigh and oliver uses to remain relevant in the catton catalogue are so wildly different. farleigh, who uses his personality and social skills to keep the cattons entertained and charmed by him. i'm sure he loves to gossip with elsbeth, wine and dines with venetia, and he clearly does everything in his power to stay glued to felix's side throughout the school year. this is someone who has never considered manipulating the cattons; he just wants to be one of them, and he wants it to be easy. can you blame him?
#saltburn 2023#saltburn#farleigh start#oliver quick#felix catton#elsbeth catton#rararararara#i'm off the henny or something like that#yipee!#movies :P
