a tumblr user (OP) got upset that they were blocked by a few haladriel accounts after claiming that people who like celeborn/are interested in seeing him join trop/multishippers were not real haladriels but antis in disguise. We've also been accused of essentially being "fake fans" who don't care about the lore, which is....so funny to me. **EDIT: I also want to add that I myself do not like Celeborn! But many of my friends do, and some of them write great Galadriel/Celeborn, and even Galadriel/Celeborn/Sauron fic! And while we disagree about this one fictional elf, I support their excitement and creativity!!** there were some responses made by multishippers in support of "ship and let ship" that did not reference the original post or name OP.

At the same time, members of a private discord were airing their frustrations with OP's post and subsequent reaction in a private channel specifically dedicated to venting. A friend of OP was a member of said discord and took multiple screenshots of multiple conversations, then coordinated a release of a handful of cherry-picked photos on tumblr to prove the discord members were "racist bullies."

The screenshots were both taken and shared in bad faith and the ones that "prove racism" were specifically from a conversation between members of color that occurred before OP's friend even joined the discord.

That's pretty much the sum of it. I feel awful that these screenshots were released, not only because of the severe violation of trust, but for those who may have been referenced in them. Venting is not bullying. These conversations were private with no intention of ever being made public because no one involved wanted to cause any harm. Now, harm has been done under the guise of — honestly, I don't know, helping? somehow? "winning" over shippers you don't agree with? — and there's no way to take that back.

It's so funny how people in fandoms of horror adjacent media are so uptight about 'problematic' ships. Like "ooh you can't ship that because that guy tortured and killed that guy" as if the media where these characters are from doesn't already heavily feature dark themes such as murder, torture, cannibalism, et cetera. Horror is not limited to viscera and violence and death. There is absolute horror in codependency, manipulation, and abusive/problematic relationships, and people can and will explore that in fanfics and fanart and shipping.

BUT DID THEY JUST ENTIRELY RETCON THE PILOT EPISODES AND SEASON 1????

BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT IT SEEMS LIKE

Because like, they do time travel shenanigans, blah blah blah... end of episode boom, but like, then they ask about the golden weapons and okay, that makes sense, everything seems to be according to the previous timeline, Lloyd's aged up, they're training, etc. but then they ask if Lloyd remembers the Garmadon being in possession of the golden weapons, that's all chill and good right?

HE TALKS ABOUT HOW GARMADON NEVER HAD THE WEAPONS AND DOESN'T RECOGNISE WHAT THE GOLDEN WEAPONS ARE WHICH MEANS

A. The pilots are changed significantly and the timeline changes so that they have different motivations and shit for each of the characters, they never met the dragons and never got the weapons, as a result Lloyd still releases the serpentine and the great devourer is still around, making it strange that Lloyd is still aged up as he should have returned to his child form as Garmadon was never released right?

OR OPTION B. Everything occurred the exact same but without the weapons meaning that the weapons were essentially wiped from everyone's memory WHICH JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE?
