Small little dogs, great ferocious creatures, strange cryptids, wolves that swim and run, insects and all there goings, flying (and non flying) birds, felines, equines, assortments of objects, dragons, angels, sea creatures, demons, vampires and gods, beautiful and strange plants, computers, robots, all of you really!!

I love thee nonhumans with disabilities, nonhumans who don’t use gear, who can’t or don’t do quadrobics.

Recovering or recovered zoophiles, nonhumans who are also furries, young nonhumans, adult nonhumans, queer nonhumans, physical nonhumans, nonhumans with delusions. I love all thee neurodivergent and not nonhumans, nonhumans with “gross” urges, nonhumans who experience their nonhumanity in a way that is less common. Nonhumans who feel connection to humanity, nonhumans who love humans and nonhumans who don’t.

Domesticated animals, wild animals, nonhumans who aren’t animals at all. Nonhumans with many kin types, nonhumans with few. Nonhumans with common kin types, nonhumans with uncommon kin types. Newly awakened nonhumans, those who have known their identify for a while and those who are still not entirely sure.

My personal feelings on people headcanoning the Hollow Knight world as small is that it always feels uncomfortably like looking at a world where there are no humans and immediately deciding we'd have to be overpowered supergiants that are being worshipped more than the actual gods.

I've seen it paired with takes that PK or even Radiance would be helpless before a god, when Radiance in particular is, you know, a god of dreams shown to be able to affect or press on just about anything with a mind to the point that other deities were scared of her, and even if she was the size of a soccer ball she'd pose a significant threat to an ordinary person.

Ruka's point about the nails being obviously in-name-only, that the scavenged weapons are scavenged from the corpses of larger creatures and not from any evidence of a bigger creature civilization also grates on me because not only is it literally a plot point in strengthening your weapon that the nailsmith works raw ore, nail weaponry is obviously a sophisticated technology with cultural and practical variations in how they're made... but it feels lavishly patronizing to look at a character like the Nailsmith who is very explicitly being driven by a single-minded obsession to make the perfect weapon, and insist he has to just be stealing thumbtacks from humanity, that he can't possibly compete with.

Like I'm in neither the position nor the desire to run around other people's blogs screaming at them until they Forsake Their Ideas, people think what they will think, but I think it's important to ask questions of, why do we believe what we believe? The idea that the HK bugs are tiny seems to come inextricably paired with the notion they are subordinate to humans, which there's no existence of humanity in HK. We don't even see evidence of mammals. Some bugs mostly resemble earth wildlife, but others? The God Tamer's beast was a lobster in its original concepts.

You cannot accidentally fake things!! Faking is intentional! If you're scared you're faking being alterhuman, then you are probably Alterhuman! If you're afraid of faking being plural, you're probably plural! If you think you're faking being gay/trans/whatever, chances are, you. aren't. faking!!

It takes a conscious effort to fake things! If you think you're 'accidentally' faking, you're probably not faking!!!

I cannot stress this enough. Doubt is normal, and having it is not a definite sign you are, but if you are and you're worried about being fake - you cannot unintentionally pretend. It's normal and perfectly fine to be wrong and misinterpret things. I used to believe I was starkin, but as it turns out, I'm a Polymorph. It's normal to mislabel things as you go along, but you cannot 'fake' something if you aren't trying to fake it.

on my way home from another post-op appt :D

i finally got my left drain out so i am now drainless!!! the office staff reminded me to continue to take it easy.. just bc i have my drains out doesn’t mean i can do anything just yet 🥲

but i’ve been cleared to start trying to side sleep again!!! and i drove myself to and from my appt, which makes me feel very capable :))

i didn’t feel the right drain removal at all! for the left side, i did feel it sliding out for like 3 seconds, which wasn’t painful but definitely weird to feel.. i’m so glad to be done with them tho!!

next appt will be my 3 month post-op appointment, when they’ll tell me about scar care/massaging. i have to continue binding/wearing compression garments for 3.5 more weeks.

i’m genuinely so pleased with my results and everyone who sees my incisions is shocked (in a good way :D) and says that they look fantastic!!! (i can’t wait to post a chest reveal!!!)

i also found out that i lost a total of about 7.5 pounds from my chest, and i couldn’t be happier about being able to breathe, standing up straight, and existing freely. it only gets better from here!! 💕

i can’t really complain about this to anyone because no one gives a fuck (understandable) but i have two new bug bites from over the weekend and they are driving me to fucking insanity not being able to scratch.
