the thing about trying to recommend fiction podcasts to someone who isn't familiar with them is that not only are so so many genres represented but also the level of production can fall anywhere from "basically an audiobook" to "major motion picture minus the pictures"

Part 3 of my buddy re-read of the Raven Tower with @ofliterarynature (sorry Im being so so slow 😭)

I reached 75%! This book is slow going, but I really enjoy how the pieces start falling into place. The whole thing about gods figuring out the way the world works, and that making their powers more efficient, is such a cool part of the worldbuilding!

I now remember why I don't really like Mawat (not a fan of people who strangle their friends when they don't hear what they want, lol) but Eolo remains a neat protagonist. I really enjoy the ways his transness is alluded to, never outright stated but nevertheless undeniable.

I'm nearing the end and realizing I don't remember at all how it resolves, but despite my slowness Im having a good time with it. Its such a weird (affectionate) little book
