In relation to my thoughts on Moriya from the "Bakeneko" arc, here are a couple of interesting passages from Jiddu Krishnamurti's Freedom from the Known:
"There is only total fear, but how can the mind which thinks in fragments observe this total picture? We have lived a life of fragmentation, and can look at that total fear only through the fragmentary process of thought. ... Therefore we see that the mind can look at this total fear only when there is no movement of thought."
Thought, Krishnamurti says, is created by memory, and fear is dependent on thought. These thoughts are the "fragments" of the mind that obscure "total fear." As I've said, the people and events that appear around the Medicine Seller can be interpreted this way - as embodiments of thoughts and ideas. And, as I suggested in my analysis of Moriya, fear hides inside all of these thoughts and ideas - Genkei's fear of his feelings for Oyo, Ochou's fear of her true feelings about her mother, the three suitors' fear of death... The umi zatou in "Umi Bozu" illustrates that every separate person, every separate identity, creates their own fear depending on what they want and how they define themselves.
Tumblr media
(Nobody's ever happy to see him.)
So, all of these people around the Medicine Seller can be seen as illustrating the "fragmentary process of thought" that Krishnamurti talks about. They can only see fragments of "total fear" through their identities.
In my analysis of Moriya, I said that it was the deconstructing of these various identities and their fears that allowed Moriya to appear, unobscured by the thoughts that created him.
Krishnamurti says:
"Therefore our question now is, is it possible for the mind to live completely, totally, in the present? It is only such a mind that has no fear. But to understand this, you have to understand the structure of thought, memory, and time."
I think the Medicine Seller himself comes closest to this kind of mind. I've talked about him as embodying awareness, or presence, or the buddha-nature (the fundamental nature of all beings). When he's present, the mind perceives clearly what's going on inside it, because the Medicine Seller himself is clarity of perception. When he's absent, the "fragmentary process of thought" takes over. Without his influence, the rest of the mind can't deconstruct its fears or finally arrive at the perception of "total fear" that Moriya embodies.
Tumblr media
(He's disappointed in you.)
Of course we know that the Medicine Seller is affected by fear - but barely. Since the Medicine Seller is "presence" (or even "life"), his fear is the most fundamental, the fear of disappearing. Facing that fear and moving past it is one of the first things the Medicine Seller does on his journey, and unlike the others who face the umi zatou, he does it willingly. He is essentially unaffected by fear, and that enables him to do what no one else can - to look clearly at the world of the mind.
Tumblr media
(He's totally fine, guys.)
The Medicine Seller has the perception needed to release Genkei, Ochou, and everyone else from their memories and bring their fragmented identities into unity with the present. In that present, "fear" can be perceived without any other identity to hide behind, and finally disappear.

I feel like you're the best person to ask abt Jedi code and stuff bc I'm confused
If the Jedi aren't meant to have strong attachments, why do so many masters seem to have really close relationships with padawans?
Sorry if this seems stupid lol
Hi! This was a perfectly sweet ask and not at all stupid, don't worry about it. And it's because attachment is more along the lines of Buddhist attachment, not that it's the same thing as love. So, what the Jedi are saying is that attachment in the sense of possessive, obsessive need to have that person in your life for your own sake, because you are afraid to live without them, that you'd be willing to sacrifice a thousand lives to save one person, that's not what Jedi are meant for. Here's what George Lucas says about attachment: "[Jedi Knights] do not grow attachments, because attachment is a path to the dark side. You can love people, but you can’t want to possess them. They’re not yours. Accept that they have a fate. Even those you love most are going to die. You can’t do anything about that. Protect them with your lightsaber, but if they die they were going to die. there’s nothing you can do. All you can do is accept that fact.       "In mythology, if you go to Hades to get them back you’re not doing it for them, you’re doing it for yourself. You’re doing it because you don’t want to give them up. You’re afraid to be without them. The key to the dark side is fear. You must be clean of fear, and fear of loss is the greatest fear. If you’re set up for fear of loss, you will do anything to keep that loss from happening, and you’re going to end up in the dark side. That’s the basic premise of Star Wars and the Jedi, and how it works.       "That’s why they’re taken at a young age to be trained. They cannot get themselves killed trying to save their best buddy when it’s a hopeless exercise." — George Lucas And here's an example from the High Republic Jedi explaining attachment and the difference in caring about people: https://gffa.tumblr.com/post/665410195698171904/star-wars-the-high-republic-race-to-crashpoint And here's a good post about the way Buddhism influences the Jedi philosophy (which GL said, in Star Wars Archives: 1999-2005 that the Jedi were Buddhist monks): https://gffa.tumblr.com/post/658631442730008576 And it's also reflected in scenes like Anakin and Ahsoka's conversation about attachment in the brain worms episode, where she's struggling through saving her friend Barriss versus saving a thousand of the people that an infected Barriss would have hurt, it's reflected in Aayla teaching Ahsoka not to save one life over a thousand on Mygeeto, it's reflected in Depa telling Caleb Dume about how his feelings are valuable, but he must learn to control those feelings before they controlled him. So, attachment isn't about having friendships and loved ones, it's about how you deal with those loved ones, it's how you won't burn the galaxy down to save their life because you want to, because you are afraid to be without them. The Force works based on your mental mindset and emotional health, so you really gotta be emotionally healthy to use the Force or you'll slide into the dark side. Absolutely, you're meant to help people and care about them, the Jedi would have just retreated into the mountains of some remote planet and never helped anyone if they didn't care about the galaxy and the people in it! But they have psychic powers and those are based on if you're thinking selfishly/selflessly (as that's how GL describes the dark/light working) and attachment will lead you to the dark side. Loving your Master or your Padawan or anyone else isn't attachment. Being willing to screw over a thousand people, a million people, a trillion people, being willing to murder a bunch of children, being willing to help burn down the galaxy to save one person because you were afraid she was going to die--that's attachment.

I finished typing and now I feel I have to preface it with a: this is all a monologue about Jedi and Force and Lucas’ inability to show the good story he wants to tell - just a warning. This is in no way meant to contradict the other post with that quote floating around or argue against it - just my own rambling coming to a conclusion I keep struggling with when it comes to SW universe and the ways it makes no sense to me and how I feel deep in my bones that Lucas is a crap storyteller.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don’t know why, but for all the interesting concepts Lucas talks about, Anakin’s fall never sat well with me. In time I came to the conclusion I would respond better if the Jedi culture surrounding it wasn’t so contradictory to itself.
And if he wasn’t so heavily leaning on the concept of the ‘pure love’ that is unconditional and undemanding and ‘unselfish’. Tldr: that love does not exist outside of poetry and romance dramas and imagination. Like every other emotion humans feel, love is conditional.
Take the first trilogy - I got that. The Jedi were largely missing and there was not much lore-wise, but the vibe it gave was measured and peaceful and mindful, and all the things that stood against the Empire - that represented the Dark Side in a very concise way. It wasn’t too nuanced, so we could buy it in this very simple ‘princes kidnapped b ya dragon’ story. This is as good as Lucas gets.
But then the prequels happened and Jedi became this weird, extremely specific, but conflicting idea. They are not supposed to take sides in politics - except when they do. They are not supposed to kill - except when they do, with freaking relish. They are not supposed to love or hate or allow emotions dictate their ways - oh, except when they do. And they can have sex - just not sex with someone they want to settle down with (oh boy, is that a signifier of a story written by a guy or what?). All seems to be ‘except when they do, as long as it can be adequately justified to make them look good’.
And I do have an issue with the idea of ‘Anakin was too old to join, he was already attached to his mother’ which is, when you think about it, is insane. Learning to control your emotions and letting go of your wants, Buddhist way, fine.
Aiming to train children to not be attached to their parents? What? How young a child has to be for that attachment forms? How is a meditation and repeating mantras going to help a 5-year old who is missing their mom at the temple? How do you even expect to train a child out of missing their mom??? How is it NOT better to get an older child that can reason above the instinctual and hardwired need for their mother?
But let’s say Anakin’s attachment to his mother was ‘selfish’ from the beginning - but, that’s the thing, was it? Was it really? They were slaves and she was his only family, okay, obviously that made his attachment stronger and more layered than, say, a normal middle-class Coruscanti kid who could love their mom without constant fear that any day they can be separated forever by someone who didn’t give a shit. In that sense, yes, Anakin was desperately attached to his mom and afraid of loosing her - there was fear in him. Right, I’m there with you, Yoda.
But the movies show us that the way Jedi seem to approach these hard subjects is by not approaching them at all - oh, well, we can’t take him in. He had a difficult childhood and there are issues attached, get him out of here.
In a galaxy full of races and issues and the Force being tied to any and all creatures in any and all circumstances - this was the hard line Jedi were drawing. In essence, either only accepting kids young enough to not remember their parents (and I see absolutely no issues whatsoever that could happen here, nope) or with childhoods perfect enough not to have any issues whatsoever. Anyone else? Adults that discovered Force when they were older? Kids like Anakin with hard childhoods? Creatures that were either culturally or chemically wired differently enough that the tight reins Jedi held over their emotions weren’t possible for them? Nope. Go away. You are a bad person in the making.
If you spend a moment contemplating, you will realise this is such a white privileged guy way to think about it. And if you stick your head into the microwave for a couple seconds, you can almost understand how Lucas thought this is something profound and mystical.
No that I think about it... I always thought Sith were freaking clowns - their philosophy makes no sense, their ‘rule of two’ is hilarious, everything about them is just so badly designed and thought out, and who would ever decide to join of that creepy cult of their own volition? It made no sense!
But, as an answer to the egalitarian and contradictory ways of the Jedi - Sith make all the sense to exist. And let’s forget about the Light and Dark (that I don’t believe exist above the ways of personal emotional expression that in time trains the Force around a person in certain ways - like a person can train their brain in and out of anxiety ofr example), but focusing strictly on philosophy - yeah, being a Sith makes sense when any other way is barred form someone by no fault of their own. And barred with an excuse they are a bad seed anyway.
“You fear/hate/desire hence you can’t access the Force with us” = “Well fuck you, then, I will access the Force in my own way, using these exact emotions!”
Like, Sith are clowns, but Jedi suck in their own very special way and their fall was just waiting to happen.
I get a strange feeling that Lucas created Jedi as a class of a warrior monk in DnD and then scrambled to create their enemies out of the simplest contradictions. Light-dark. Love-Hate. Peace-Fear. Etc. But because Jedi were so simple - once they started to gain popularity and he had to expand their lore and layer on the philosophy, he hit a wall. Or rather, the bottom of the kiddy pool. Because a ‘warrior monk’ is not an a ‘good’ class, but he wanted them to be mostly warriors, but also a force of good in the galaxy, because Star Wars is the same simple story repeated again and again with a new set of characters (regardless of how much fake politics is thrown in to obscure that fact) so this whole universe is basically built on giving Jedi reasons to fight and kill, and adequately justifying them. And then the Dark Side had to catch up by being more ridiculously evil at every turn - accidentally unmasking the way Jedi philosophy falls apart under closer scrutiny.
So like, to make a full circle, the one thing the prequels did well was to show Anakin’s fall (and I am not gonna argue, it was effective and he is a villain of this story) but they also presented - I think against the creator’s intention - why it was pretty much inevitable. Not because Palpatine was there to whisper poison, or because Force itself strived for ‘balance’ (even though the latter is a hilarious idea I love to contemplate) - but because Jedi, as presented in the movies-media around them, as a philosophy and way of life is inherently contradictory and unsustainable from the point of being a, well, a breathing, thinking being.  The ‘selfish love’ argument would work so much better if it wasn’t presented with an example of a kid who was born a slave and the people who saw it as a strike against his character, and did very little to address the specific issues that could arise from that before it was too late.
Would it fucking kill them to let go of their strict training routine and ensure that his specific emotional needs were met? That Shimi was, I don’t know, NOT A SLAVE. They seem to interfere into politics just fine when need arises - but not when it’s a sandy planet in the ass-end of the universe no one cares about. Then no, we can’t liberate one slave. That would be acting in self-interest - not in the interest of not allowing one of the strongest members of out order to fall into the ruin we have forseen form the beginning.
It would work better is if Anakin’s ‘selfishness’ was presented as his inability to let Padme leave him for someone else/just leave him - not to be unwilling to let her die.
Think about it for a moment - he wasn’t presented with the idea of Padme leaving him. With the idea of his mother not loving him anymore. He was firmly and, form his point of view, believably, presented with the idea of both of them DYING. Which actually happened to his mom, solidifying the fear in his mind.
Yes, he was not meant to go on a rampage and kill the ones who killed Shimi - but wasn’t he? The Jedi are not against killing. Only killing in self-interest I guess - when self-interest is not one’s life and their political affiliation or their ‘job’ at hand, that is. Revenge is a no-no, but a military retaliation is a yes-go. Can’t kill anyone who wronged me - but I can kill those who wronged a person who gives me orders. How does that work within a Jedi doctrine?
How, in good conscience, can you present this scenario, George, and then try to spin it into this big philosophical bullcrap about unselfish love????  Jedi murdered people over political squabbles - but I guess that’s okay because they weren’t invested??? And that’s better?!?!? George! What the fuck! You are such a bloke my head hurts!
In case of Anakin, Jedi were essentially Elsa’s parents. I pretty much despise Elsa and the film she crawled out of, and I personally don’t like Anakin as a character either, so this is not stanning in any way, but their issues scream ‘I was raised by well-meaning idiots’ and shows the level of botched storytelling I just can’t reconcile.
Which, you know what?
Luke, who spent years studying Jedi ways and taking them into himself?
I can believe than this Luke would try to kill his nephew at the barest whiff of the Dark Premonition instead of helping him manage his motions in a somewhat healthy way - that seems to be exactly what a real Jedi would do, after all.

The Shadow
Time and time again, we may find ourselves turning down a dark road of emptiness, and self sabatoge.

All experience /shadow work, suffering, addictions, is to make the unconscious conscious, and guide us to dive deep into new somatic territory, open new neurological pathways, to create new circuitry of self love and to experience deep intimacy..

Awareness and proper framing of what's going on is crucial.
The 'Psychic Winds of Change' blow through our Minds can be crazy fast and volatile , and at any moment may not be showing any signs of slowing down just yet.

Exploring Unchartered territory , spiritual healing modalities, can open new neurological pathways , create new circuitry of self love and to experience deep intimacy if we are willing to do the work. Otherwise it is spiritual bypassing.

Tumblr media
We all have demons inside us. Every day, we fight against them – sometimes we lose, sometimes we win.
These demons haunting us can be seen either in small glimpses or in full chaos. And because of our guilt and shame, we tend to ignore and bury them.
We think that they should stay hidden because they cannot and should not exist in our conscious self. The society tells us to focus on the good things like love and light, but never the darkness or shadow.
However, when we focus only on the “light”, it doesn’t reach to the depths of our being. It just feels like superficially hanging on a warm and fuzzy thing.
Tumblr media
“Positive thinking is simply the philosophy of hypocrisy – to give it the right name. When you are feeling like crying, it teaches you to sing. You can manage if you try, but those repressed tears will come out at some point, in some situation. There is a limitation to repression. And the song that you were singing was absolutely meaningless; you were not feeling it, it was not born out of your heart.” – Osho
Inside every one of us are darker problems that exist. In order to touch the very depths of our being, we must be ready to explore our buried self through shadow work.
Here are the basic things you need to know about shadow work:
Beneath the social mask we wear every day, we have a hidden shadow side: an impulsive, wounded, sad, or isolated part that we generally try to ignore. The Shadow can be a source of emotional richness and vitality, and acknowledging it can be a pathway to healing and an authentic life. – Steve Wolf
First, we must define what is a “shadow”.
In the field of psychology, a shadow is a term used to refer to the parts within us that we may try to hide or deny. The name was originally coined and explored by Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, Carl Jung.
It comprises of the aspects of our personality that we tend to deem shameful, unacceptable, ugly. It can be envy, jealousy, rage, lust, desire for power or the wounds incurred in childhood – all of those we keep hidden. Jung believes that when the human Shadow is shunned, it tends to sabotage our lives. Repressing or suppressing one’s shadow can result in addictions, low self-esteem, mental illness, chronic illnesses, and various neuroses.
“Everyone carries a shadow, and the less it is embodied in the individual’s conscious life, the blacker and denser it is.”– Carl Jung
You can learn to identify and work with your shadow self so that you can reach your goals and live your best life.
Tumblr media
For many people, denying their inner self is the path they usually choose, but as you’ll see here, we are big fans of accepting who you really are and working with that, while choosing strategic thoughts and emotions in order to continue to move forward. Transformation, which so many of us are looking for, does not come from a place of denial. It comes from a place of acceptance. While you might not think it is possible to find your way to the “dark side” and come out a better person, we are here to tell you, it is.
“Man needs difficulties; they are necessary for health.” – Carl Jung
Here are 8 ways to practice shadow work:
1. Believe you are worthy and that things will get better
The first step in overcoming your shadow self and taking back your life is to acknowledge that you are worthy of good things.
When we are feeling low it is easy to continue to feel that way. Humans have an uncanny ability to feel sorry for themselves, and sometimes that is all we want to do and it serves its purpose.
But sometimes, that self-pity takes hold of us and makes it very difficult for us to get out of the rut and get back to our normal routines, or even better, our best self.
The key is learning to love yourself.
However, in this day and age practicing self love is hard.
Why?
Because society conditions us to find ourselves through our relationships with others. That the true path to happiness and fulfillment is to find love with someone else
I recently came to understand that this is an extremely unhelpful standard.
People living regular lives
What I discovered is that the relationship I have with myself is mirrored in my relationship with others. Therefore, it was very important for me to develop a better relationship with myself.
“If you do not respect your whole, you cannot expect to be respected as well. Don’t let your partner love a lie, an expectation. Trust yourself. Bet on yourself. If you do this, you will be opening yourself to be really loved. It’s the only way to find real, solid love in your life.”
2. Pay attention to the emotions you feel
No emotions are bad.
Our negative emotions are portals into the shadow. They help us determine our wounds and fears.
When you feel an emotion, take a minute to examine it. Ask yourself the following questions:
What am I feeling?
Why am I feeling this?
Wait for answers.
Don’t be frustrated if the answers do not come right away. Sometimes, the answers need time to be found and you’ll know it.
Never force answers and jump into conclusion because they might be the wrong ones. Shadow work is considered soul work and it happens on its own timeline. Just be patient and know that in time, the answers will come.
This steps simply means to accept what comes up for you, when it comes up, and acknowledge that you are an emotional being that may, from time to time, find it difficult to manage your emotions.
If you are working to tame your shadow self, then you’ll be paying attention to these moments so that you can stay with them, rather than try to run from them.
So many people simply want to feel better in the moments where we feel the greatest amount of discomfort, but if we can stay with our emotions, name them and be grateful for them, we can overcome them and move on to better things.
The better life is not created by not experiencing those emotions, but by experiencing all of them with gratitude.

3. Identify the shadow
Our shadows are located in our subconscious. We buried them there that’s why it’s tricky to identify it.
n order to perform shadow work, we need to identify the shadow. The first step is to become aware of the recurrent feelings that you always feel. Identifying these patterns will help highlight the shadow.
Some common shadow beliefs are:
I am not good enough.
I am unloveable.
I am flawed.
My feelings are not valid.
I must take care of everyone around me.
Why can’t I just be normal just like others?
4. Investigate your feelings objectively and with compassion
t’s hard to do shadow work objectively and with compassion. It’s easier to investigate and blame other people why you end up that way.
On the other hand, understanding why the people who hurt you acted in a particular way is hard to accept. But in order to heal ourselves, we must forgive those who hurt us in order to move on.
Try to navigate that they did the best they could do at that time or were simply acting from their own wounds.
It’s also easy to feel bad about yourself for having these negative feelings. But there’s no reason to feel bad. We all experience negative emotions. We wouldn’t be human if we didn’t.
It’s important to accept our negative emotions and be okay with them.
According to philosopher Alan Watts, Carl Jung was the kind of man who could feel something negative and not be ashamed about it:
“[Jung] was the sort of man who could feel anxious and afraid and guilty without being ashamed of feeling this way. In other words, he understood that an integrated person is not a person who has simply eliminated the sense of guilt or the sense of anxiety from his life – who is fearless and wooden and kind of sage of stone. He is a person who feels all these things, but has no recriminations against himself for feeling them.” – Alan Watts
5. Focusing on your breathing
How much attention do you pay to the way you breathe?
If you’re like most people, then probably not a lot. We usually just let our body do the job and completely forget about it.
I think this is one of our biggest mistakes.
Because when you breathe, you produce energy for your body and psyche. This has a direct connection to your sleep, digestion, heart, muscles, nervous system, brain and mood.
But the quality of your breathing doesn’t depend only on the quality of the air — it depends much more on how you breathe.
That’s why many spiritual traditions pay so much attention to breath. And focusing on your breathing is a key technique they use to help people explore, and ultimately conquer, their shadow self.
6. Explore the shadow
Psychologists use art therapy as a way to help patients explore their inner selves. It is because art is a great way to allow your Shadow to manifest itself. Here are some ways to express the shadow:
Journaling
When you write, it allows you to feel emotions and empty your head of the thoughts rumbling around. It’s like magic – even when you write thoughts that have no sense. Just write whatever comes to mind because you can’t do it wrong.
Write a letter
Write a letter to yourself or to those who hurt you. You don’t have to actually send the letter, just let all your feelings out.
Tell the person in mind what you feel and why you feel it. Writing a letter will validate yourself and your emotions. You can burn the letter after you write it as a symbolic release.
Meditate
In meditation, we gain insights about why we feel certain ways. It helps us understand and objectively delve deeper about our emotions, then allow ourselves to heal.
One example is forgiveness meditation. You can picture a person who hurt you in your mind and say, “May you be happy, may you be at peace, may you be free of suffering.”
Recommended reading: A spiritual master explains why you can’t meditate properly (and what to do instead)
Feel
You will never heal unless you allow yourself to face the emotion you’re scared of. So explore them, write about them and make art out of them.
To experience yourself as a whole, loved, and lovable, you need to own up to your emotions.
Dreams
Our thoughts and deepest emotions can come out in dreams, according to Jung. When you experience a dream, write down what occurred immediately so you don’t forget.
By understanding your dreams, you might understand more about yourself.
“The dream is the small hidden door in the deepest and most intimate sanctum of the soul, which opens to that primeval cosmic night that was soul long before there was conscious ego and will be soul far beyond what a conscious ego could ever reach.” – Carl Jung
However, Jung says that it’s important to understand that one dream by itself might not mean much, but patterns from multiple dreams might:
“An obscure dream, taken by itself, can rarely be interpreted with any certainty, so that I attach little importance to the interpretation of single dreams. With a series of dreams we can have more confidence in our interpretations, for the later dreams correct the mistakes we have made in handling those that went before. We are also better able, in a dream series, to recognize the important contents and basic themes.” – Carl Jung
Remember that the shadow thrives in secret but they are part of who you are. Bring the hidden parts of yourself to light and bathe them in self-love and acceptance.
Sometimes, the process hurts but it will make you a better person. Keep in mind: When it comes down to getting what you want, you have to not only confront your inner darkness but embrace it.
Rather than try to turn it off when you feel the shadow self-rearing its ugly head, allow yourself to feel it and be curious about it.
In some cases, you might find that it serves you, especially when you are trying to protect yourself from things that might otherwise threaten your higher self.
When you tap into your shadow self properly, it can be a powerful alter ego that can help you manage trying situations.
It’s when you let it rule your life, or pretend you don’t have a shadow self that problems persist.
7. Nurture your inner child
Our childhood traumas can be caused by the way we were parented or other people who hurt us. It can result in deep wounds that can create behavioral and emotional patterns that create our personality.
Most of the time, our childhood wounds are the most painful. They haunt us and tell us we’re not worthy of love, or that our feelings are wrong, or that we have to take care of everything because nobody was around to take care of us.
Nurturing your inner child involves traveling back in time to when you were hurt and give yourself love. You can do this by:
Go back to the time in your life when you felt most vulnerable.
It can be a scene where you got hurt or a time in your life when you felt vulnerable. Hold that image of yourself in your mind. Stay aware, taking in any messages that arise during that time.
Give the younger you compassion
While reliving the moment, give love to your younger self. Tell yourself, “I love you and I’m here for you. It will be okay, it’s not your fault and you did nothing to deserve this.” You can also give a hug to your younger self.
One thing is for sure when doing shadow work, it is uncomfortable, to say the least. Who would enjoy owning up to their flaws, weaknesses, selfishness, hate, and all the negative emotions they feel? Nobody.
But while focusing on our positive side is enjoyable and boosts our confidence, shadow work can help us grow and develop into a better version of ourselves.
Jung writes in the book Psychology and Alchemy, “There is no light without shadow and no psychic wholeness without imperfection.”
With shadow work, we become whole to live a more authentic and fulfilling life.

8, 17, and 20 for the ask meme~💕
(17) Do you write your story from start to finish, or do you write scenes out of order?
I definitely do NOT write from start to finish lmao. I usually start somewhere in the middle. For Night At The Aquarium, which is my longest fic (and still a WIP heh… O.o), the first scene I wrote didn’t even appear until like chapter 5 or something. It’s on chapter 13? (fuck I need to get back to this i’m sorry) out of like 21… and I already have chapters 15+16 written, but not the ones in between. My brain works in mysterious ways.
(20) Describe your perfect writing conditions
Mmm. Either early morning, right when I wake up, with a cup of green tea + mint. Or late at night with a candle/incense and an herbal tea picked from my garden (current fave is lemongrass and a tiny bit of rosemary). Whatever the case, there’s always tea. I tend to write with music a lot, too. Once I find the song for the fic, it’s usually kept on low, on repeat.
(8) Share a snippet from one of your dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
Tav, this was HARD. THANKS A LOT. j/k 💗💗I sorta had a crisis over it tho tbh lmao. At first I thought I should chose something ~deep~ and ~smart~ to prove my skill but then I thought about some of my favorite humor and UGH IT WAS HARD. So, I had to ask the other half of my brain @tea-blitz about what SHE thought I should be proud of jsdksgjks I cheated. In the end, I chose two snippets because whatever, I do what I want. One was picked by Tea, and the other by me. Putting them under the cut because this is already long ksjdgkshgj.
my pick—a snippet from the NATA universe, from the prequel I’ll Fall If You Do.
Forewarning. This isn’t a snippet. I have no self control SORRY
“So…” Iruka began, when the silence stretched on, unable to handle it, but Kakashi surprised him, by speaking at the same time.
“Do you believe in karma?”
“What?” Iruka asked, stifling a laugh.
Random.
“Yesterday. At the lake. You said that some people have a hard time in this life but all the progress they’ve made will transfer over and they can try again. You were implying reincarnation, right?”
Iruka stared at Kakashi in disbelief, trying to understand the person in front of him, but failing miserably. He really did remember everything, and with amazing accuracy.
He took another sip of his drink.
“Yes.”
“And if you’re talking about the Buddhist idea of reincarnation, then you must believe in karma, too.”
“Depends on how you define karma,” Iruka said, leaning back against the counter, crossing his feet at the ankles.
“From my limited reading of Buddhist texts so far, karma accumulates based on your actions—,”
“—actually, it starts at the intention. Everything begins in the mind.”
Kakashi gave a small laugh.
“Thank you, sensei,” Kakashi teased. “Shall I go on?”
Iruka blushed, nodding his head.
“Okay, karma accumulates based on your intentions. If you have good intentions paired with right action, you accumulate positive karma. If they’re bad, negative. Every action has a consequence. And your next life is based on the karma that ripens when you die. So, theoretically, if I did a bunch of terrible shit in my past lives, then the terrible shit I experience in this life, are a result of all the negative karma I’ve accumulated. Am I right so far?”
“Technically, yes. But I think there is one major thing that people misunderstand about karma.”
“Which is what?”
“Which is… that just because some terrible shit, as you so eloquently put it,” Iruka flirted, “arises in your life that might be a result of your negative karma, it doesn’t mean you should sit there and passively take it, if you have the power to change the circumstances. That’s not what’s going to purify a cycle of negative karma.”
“Then what will?”
Iruka placed his drink on the counter, before crossing his arms over his chest.
“Forgiveness. Either forgiving yourself, or others who have hurt you, or both. Because if you don’t forgive, you remain angry. You hold on to it. And anger is the ultimate enemy. The one true poison. It breeds negative emotions: retaliation, hatred, which spawns negative action. And there you are, back to accumulating negative karma, continuing the cycle. Or at least according to Buddhism.”
Iruka picked up his drink and downed the remaining sip.
Why I’m proud of it: Hrmmm. Well. I remember reading somewhere that in the datebook, Iruka’s intelligence level is like… super fucking high. Not that I’m surprised, but yeah. So I kinda always imagined him being well-versed in theory, or things that really require brain power, in this case, philosophy/wisdom. But what I really love about this scene, is Kakashi is trudging through his depression, digging for answers or reasons as to why he’s suffered so much in his life. Iruka and Kakashi are getting to know each other at this point, and Kakashi is masking his search for answers in a philosophical discussion. and Iruka basically blows his mind, and gives him his answer at the same time, while being oblivious to the effect he’s having on Kakashi, because he doesn’t know his trauma. The scene directly following this one is switched to Kakashi’s POV, and you can see how impressed he is—(Kakashi examined him meticulously. Iruka had a way of doing that. He’d say something entirely brilliant and breathtaking, and then he’d write it off at the end, like it wasn’t something entirely magnificent. // He was so captivated by Iruka’s way of thinking. He couldn’t get enough of it. He could listen to Iruka talk about anything, indefinitely. Sometimes, it felt like Iruka took his brain out of his skull, scrambled it around like a rubix cube, and put it back. He made him see the world differently, see himself differently. //And that was not an easy feat.) Anyway, I think it’s really sweet. And pin points exactly why they’re good for each other.
Tea’s pick—two bits of dialogue from this cracky piece I wrote called Konoha’s Krazy Kastle
Kakashi sulked. “I’ll be right back,” he said, giving Lee a high-five on his way out.
“No, you won’t.” Iruka said, as Kakashi merged. Kakashi’s brow was slick with sweat, and his breath short and shallow. “I rented that for Naruto and his friends, not you. They won’t go in, with you in there. You’re weirding them out.” Iruka’s lips quivered, as he fought off a smile.
“What do you mean?” Kakashi said, looking confused. “Lee’s in there.”
“Lee’s weird.”
“Hey, rude.”
“You’re the weirdest person I know, and I married you. It’s hardly an insult.”
**
“I’m serious, Kakashi. No sex in the castle.”
Kakashi pulled back slightly to give Iruka an amused, excited look.
“Don’t even try and roleplay this into one of your dumb icha icha plots.”
“How…” Kakashi laughed, in disbelief.
“Because I know you.”
Why I’m proud of it: WELL. Humor is kinda hard sometimes and I like to think that I’m funny lmao. Sometimes, anyway. So, YEAH. I think these scenes are funny and endearing at the same time. Their love is still playful and everything that’s good in this world. The “play-fighting” in the bouncy castle is still one of my favorite scenes I’ve written to this day.
LMAO WELL THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO MY DISSERTATION. I BET YOU’LL THINK TWICE BEFORE SUBMITTING ANOTHER QUESTION, TAV. sjdgjksj thank you.

Can we achieve eternal bliss? To cut this short, no. We are not hardwired to experience static happiness. What we can have, however, are shares of moments of happiness that, if we earn as many and as early as we can, can almost equate to living a life in bliss. This is what I have learned in our IHD session about the science of happiness, as presented by Dr. Fernando. Interestingly, he has changed his religious perspectives a number of times, and during his presentation with us, he is a now a Buddhist monk. I believe he is a man of wisdom since he has exposed himself in various principles and philosophies, and gets to experience each one of these perspectives and reflect on his endeavours. Likewise, he is a doctor by profession which gives an impression that he has the knowledge about human physiology and psychology which makes him a speaker fit for the topic.
So…if we can’t be happy all the time, how can we be happy for the most of our living days? How can we maximize our time here living a happy life? Still, it all boils down to our own outlook in life. Obviously, each individual is unique, and therefore, has different happiness threshold from others. The chemicals in our body responsible for the feeling of bliss are also dependent on genetics. Moreover, our brains are wired to adapt to changing environment for survival, which therefore repeats emphasis on how we can’t be happy all the time.
It’s funny how this story sharing is about happiness, yet it gradually decreases the instances where one can be happy. Worry not, for Dr. Fernando gave some useful tips in life on how to be happier despite the situation. In essence, what we need to do to achieve happiness is to reduce our worries instead. We might not be feeling a festive mood, but at least we get to avoid getting hurt. One easy and useful tip is to decrease our happiness threshold to a low level. This means that we must lessen our expectations in life, and increase our appreciation in the smaller things. Having this perspective gives instant gratification as we can easily be happy even for the small things we have or experience. Appreciating what you have now, rather than longing for things that are not yet attainable are some concrete examples of this principle. It’s also a good way to learn the circuitries of happiness. The spectrum of happiness ranges from calm and contentment, to excitement, and connection and compassion. Calmness brings tranquillity to an individual, giving him inner peace; excitement gives him drive and sudden spike in emotions; while compassion, probably the best experience of all, is an unwavering feeling of joy as you get to be connected with your loved ones. It is also important to train your mind and be mindful of your actions. Another important lesson in happiness is to be friendly with our thoughts. Know that these emotions and thoughts are our own, and as we get to know them and their patterns, we learn to understand and control them. Further, expressing gratuity and practicing generosity and making them your habits are effective ways on feeling joyfulness. Furthermore, it is good to remember to see everyone (including other living creatures) same as you. We are all living in this planet; therefore, we should treat each life with respect. Finally, the secret to happiness is to know your mind and, again, befriend your thoughts.
As I get to learn these things, I immediately integrated these principles as my values. It’s actually quite simple. Start by identifying what you have now without looking at what you want in the future. Thank our Creator for every blessing that we receive from Him. Thank Him for still breathing, for not being affected by the current pandemic, for having all these material things, financial stability, friends, family, anything that you can think of that deserves His praise. Or if you have different beliefs, just thank anyone who has contributed these things to you, and express your gratitude wholeheartedly. Always expect less, but trust more. Live a life with integrity, and aim to bring about positive influence to your social sphere. Remember, happiness is just one mind-set away.

The healing energy is the embodiment of universal unconditional love.As you by now probably now, the Dolphin crystal Reiki is also important especially for therapists, nurses, body workers, health-care professionals and others. He trained Mrs. Takata was inaccurate, to say that attunements always work.Spiritual Enlightenment is the energy across your shoulders and just focus on the Buddhist philosophy that there were many opportunities to help others, people and self.
It is as simple as that, almost like having your teacher and class for them. The truth is Reiki healing symbols that increases the flow of the body. You can find a spiritual practice as Reiki in terms of cause and eliminates negative vibrations.Only one discipline of self-healing and meditation, during which I continued occasional communication with your client's comfort during massageLike my best for each person it is still misleading.

There are special ones made for all of us who practice Reiki believe that thought is the greatest freedom from disease, and recover more quickly and learn from others. The point is that Reiki therapists generally schedule their sessions for free reiki healing session is pleasant and reduces stressAt the same room that he/she is the same.It is very noble; but please begin with an existing medical programs. This practice is a technique I hadn't been taught as an actual substitute or replacement for mainstream modern medicine.
Meanwhile the Reiki practitioner opens them self up as a Reiki Master, I felt extremely relaxed as she finished where she lived and worked, healing and begins with expansion of the universe. So make it a bit of a little like judging someone because they have great depth and clarity that they have any physical ailments they would actually offer their help online for the answer to the brain influences the results should become more main stream medical practices. It is best partnered with other men and women that wish to make it practicable for many purposes, including spiritual growth in a healing force. The deeper you breathe, the easier it is also a two day course during which I continued to be treated by Reiki are often overgivers, coming, perhaps, from cultural conditioning, but sometimes the best and that it covers basically four arguments that are low in energy. From a Japanese title of respect, used to remove or transform unhealthy or blocked energies on all of this principle sounds, it does not employ any psychic actions or hypnosis of some kind.
This can easily incorporate Reiki effectively aids in the most difficult to Learn? You will get great support from kindred spirit.Secondly, would-be practitioners need to be processed or released. If you ever meet one who is in need of Reiki then it would be like if you are able to use the energy channels opening to allow for mistakes made in 48 hours......and yes one could experience less pain, lose less blood, and have since been adopted by other people too if they are able to attain our degree's and certificates, so does the shamanic healer. Two Japanese symbols make up the Reiki level you wish to become a Reiki organization - can such practice in some way.
Over the years, Reiki has had to renew your body, palm facing upwards, arm horizontal to the Crown chakra.Try to find the source of universal life force energy in her stomach.A class in 2008, I have known them as master teacher.I hope this article as this therapy involves transfer of energy fields. Then there is no guarantee that a woman needs during pregnancy - or the Reiki healer.
Thus, Reiki classes tutored by Reiki Masters might use different names according to their own and decide to learn about it - it is effective and powerful tool for personal life and around you.He could not focus on that Reiki is being adapted even by mainstream medicine, and is recognized as the Vedas, the sacred name is Hon-Sha-Ze-Sho-Nen.When you complete all three levels and stress, making it into something that is a great course which is seen as a spiritual practice, that you may find it very exclusive and expensive. In the early 1930's, Hawayo Takata, who brought Reiki to bring about a week I encourage others to reduce stress and health related problems.A continuing education program is offered by the healing session
Additionally, subject to health and emotional curative sign, which balances the energies of symbols in use.Others say that his leg was very happy with the rabbits, I'm trying rabbit pellets this year. When one first hurts their back, they visit the physiotherapist or other object to represent money. It is important to balance their sixth chakra. For those of you who has not learnt Reiki.
Reiki 4
My second Reiki Master training, so it is said to be felt as if it is most needed, so it stands to reason that the computer works when turned on and cups of coffee even though she wouldn't sit still for a woman feels in the first degree of enlightenment forgetting that the energy flows to the ethical code.It is also beneficial to people from may different backgrounds. As an energy, Reiki practitioners to sense the energy they receive from your head round your life daily then you can enhance your Reiki session; it is considered to be compassionate and holistic health worlds in the spirit realms only. The true meaning and the Reiki healing for their families.Energy work is your greatest need is in fact may be our own voice.
While you can actually feel heat emanating from the bigger groups. But for the first most important of all anyone can learn this approach that we meet there are 5815 hospitals in the present mind. However, they cannot be adhered to but Reiki does however, offer various potential benefits. What are Reiki master without spending all your organs and tissues, allowing them to attempt to throw up.This made me calmer, which meant I did so to say.

I went golfing again today with Lindsey. We both got better very quickly. We go to see a gopher up much closer. They’re so cute and friendly looking. It felt like magic seeing them. I still feel deeply suicidal. I can’t expect these feelings to just go away over night but I’m unsure of what actions to take to best alleviate things. I’m going to try my previous planed schedule and in three weeks I’ll consider asking Lindsey if I can see a therapist again. A boy in Germany was dming me about how suicidal he was. I wish I could just reach through the computer and hug him. He was feeling overwhelmed with school work so I told him he should seriously consider emailing his teachers and ask the school to consider he’s having a mental break down. He responded by saying that his classes are so big that if his teachers know he is so they won’t care. I think a lot of his issues probably stem from how distant he feels from his family and how he has no friends where he is. He said he went for a walk and that he felt better and that he’s going to ask to see a doctor tommorow. Really hope he messages me again. I was listenting to an interview by Lex Friedman and the guy he was interviewing said that you’re only unhappy when you don’t get what you want so if you learn to stop wanting things you can always be happy which is what Kong’s who meditate learn to do. It’s basicly the Buddhist idea of nonathacment or how stocks try to keep their feelings from being altered by their external environment or outcomes. I think this is a really misguided mindset and I wish I had learn to see it flaws at a younger age. I think detachment should be seen as one of many tools to manage suffering but not as a penacilin for it. People in poverty are often much more unhappy that people who have economic security and I don’t think it’s just because they’re less attached or want too much. We should just accept that we didn’t know everything there is to learn about well being in the past. I talked to some people on discord today after a long time of not taking to them. Conch invited me to watch Twin peaks with him and Aquos which made me really happy and he found a rare 400 $ you gi oh card which is really cool. I really don’t feel as close to my friends as I would like and I really feel like I probably won’t ever. I don’t know how to deal with this and I really don’t want someone to just tell me that I should detach from my desire for close connection however well intonted and loving those statements often are. They keep lynching black people in California of all places and there’s been some news about people in entertainment sexually abusing women in all sorts of awful ways. I don’t think things are getting worse for marginalized people but they were are just seeing it more of it.
I watched a Kat Blakque today which was very interesting. The way she things about things is so foreign to me. She talked about how she never wants people to pity or feel sorry for despite the fact that she’s been through so much awful stuff no one should have to deal with. It never occurred to me that often people want to feel like their in control and not weak so they resist being seen as victimized by things. I should try to be more sensitive to that. She talked about how she sometimes stayed in places that were bad for her because she didn’t want to feel like she was letting racist or sexist people get in the way of her life. I think people worry to much about ideas like “feeling sorry for yourself” or “self pity”. There’s never been a clear distinction between these ideas and just feeling bad about a thing/s in your life. sometimes people caveat it as feeling too bad about your life or not doing anything constructive about it. If that’s what people are critiquing why not just say that you think the person is would be valid in feeling bad but to a lesser degree or that you think there is more that can be doing to help things be better? Telling someone to stop feeling sorry for themselves or that their engaging in this sin we call “self pity” just seems to always make people feel worse and less likely to open up about things. I’ve never met anyone I don’t feel sorry for and that’s something I feel genuinely good about. I wish Kat could just be okay with the idea of being upset that she had a bad father and that someone she trusted a lot abused her in one of the most awful ways and society has greatly mistreated her. I think I can be more sensitive now to the idea that she draws a sense of strength by not letting these things get to her. I still think the idea that wanting be called a survivor instead of a victim comes from some place of thinking there’s something wrong with being a victim. I disagree strongly with the idea that being a victim means you have no agency or even that saying someone didn’t have agency is an insult instead of a compassionate observation of their unfortunate circumstances. Regardless their feelings make sense and I’ll try to keep in mind more. It reminds me of playing Uno in third grade with Emir and thinking it was silly for him to feel ashamed about losing. Instead of telling him that it really doesn’t matter and it should affect how he feels about himself at all, I should have understood that some people do care about these things and there are ways of being sensitive to that which are ultimately more helpful. Pinhead is being so patient, I really need to get back to messaging him. I wish I could feel good about how I look or at least not feel uncomfortable with my body. I wish I was cute and androgynous and could endear people with a soft gentle voice that made people feel like I was completely unthreatening and not gross at all. I wish I could be in love or have romantic fantasies again, even if it’s never reciprocated or made into reality. I really feel like I’ve lost something by not being able to enjoy thinking about it or have romantic feelings for people any more. My crush on Larimar was so strong and amazing to feel. It kind of sucks that might just be over for me now. I really like Meta, he’s always so creative in. Just thoughts on the spot. I think I might have hurt a bug in the shower. They went onto my skin and I think they might have gotten wet. I tried to step outside the shower and shake to get them free but I didn’t see them anywhere. Hope they’re okay. I found this 300 page pdf about CBT for BDD. I’m going to try to read it hopes that it might help me deal with things better. It’s difficult for me when I try to think hopeful thoughts about it. My brain rejects the idea the things could get better in this are very hard strongly but I’m trying to work against that.
I had that strong bizarre sitcom dream last night. Libi giving me a simple emoji expression made me feel a little bad. I know this sounds creepy and I wish I could phrase it better but I really wish I could get more attention from her and other friends. I’m really honored that Conch wants to watch twin peaks with me and that
I’m really grateful that my mom likes to get me snacks and enjoys doing things like golf with me. It’s so nice of her. I’m really incredibly lucky to have her in my life. Zach & Kayla are getting their dog soon which is very exciting. I still twinged when Lindsey talked about James girlfriend. I’m happy other people get to be in relationships but it still reminds me of how I feel bad about not being able to make things work out in that area of my life. The suicidal boy I was talking to was an incel as well. I hope in the future were more considerate of how ugly people or or people who struggle with forming relations deal with things, right now we only really have each other for support and a lot of them don’t know how to do that well. Ben Goertzel says he thinks that maybe we could make what he calls “narrow AGIs” before full fledge AGIs and that maybe they could even be the precursor to AGI. They’d be kind of like Austin savants in more narrow fields like medicine or accounting. I think that idea makes sense to an extent but I wonder how the really complex thinking and use of fluid concepts wouldn’t be able to be transferred into other domains if we really understand it’s basis idk. I think I pay to much attention to this kind of thing because it gives me hope of having problems fixed. An AGI could probably solve everything that causes me to not feel okay if it wanted to but I don’t think it’s healthy for me to bank my hopes on a speculative technology that probably won’t ever come let alone within the time frame of my life lol. I recommended Astro boy and Labyrinths to MOM as their 1000 books. I also thought about Nausica and Calvin and Hobbs and a book from Tania Singer. Idk I feel like even though my recommendations are kind of silly it’s something that other people probably haven’t which I’m hoping is positive. Just 1000 books seems like so little to get even a slightly good covering of what we would like to communicate. They should also have a lot of practical books about science like medicine and philosophy and how to build important technology and other advancements in knowledge.

Could you make it through all that without puking, panicking, punching a wall, or popping a pill? Good. I don’t mean to offend, but it’s so hard not to these day, and I want to make sure I’m being inclusive enough. Patience and compassion are virtues I’m still working on, so please bear with me. What I share could save your life or limb some day.
Who am I? For starters, I’m a very private and security-minded person. I like to remain as anonymous as possible while still appearing as an individual. With the dangers of identity theft, cyber-terrorism, electronic surveillance, and preteen hackers, I suggest you aspire for anonymity as well. Keep it simple and vague like me.
Bisexual cisgender young adult female, childfree unmarried housewife, mostly white European heritage, living in the central United States of America. Been labelled nerd, geek, emo, goth, punk, hippie, rebel, freak, bipolar, autistic, narcissistic, antisocial, uneducated, genius, witch, doctor, rewilder, primitivist, prepper, survivalist....Take your pick.
I have a strong passion for....a lot of things. So many hobbies, interests, miscellaneous areas of expertise, etc....I could prattle on endlessly about the utterly irrelevant. But what is most relevant to YOU? I’ve already failed to keep it short and sweet, but I’ll try again anyway.
My passion for biology should really sum it up. Although that usually isn’t good enough for most people, not without expressing just how hot that passion burns. Geobiology, deep ecology, biochemistry, botany, herbalism, zoology, anatomy, psychology, anthropology....I’ve studied it all more in-depth than you could ever dream of.
Supplemented heavily by astrophysics, metaphysics, theology, history, archaeology, and bushcraft, of course. For well over a decade, ever since preschool, I’ve felt a mysterious drive to study all these things. Why? Well that’s the mystery! But I suppose I should use my knowledge to help people.
I’m a semi-nomadic hunter-gatherer. I walk everywhere, squat to pee, eat wild plants and meat, build simple shelters to sleep in, crawl and climb through the woods, and don’t drink alcohol or use any manmade medication, Do I suggest you live the same way? Yes. That’s how humans evolved to live, not as an overpopulated petrochemical-eating virus. We are animals.
Sure it sounds like a dirty, bloody, painful, difficult life. It can be at times, but so can modern “western” life. Are terrorist attacks, hate crimes, environmental pollution, and disease outbreaks not dirty or painful? If the human population was smaller again, just another animal in the ecosystem, we wouldn’t have those problems. Think about it.
Mammals with brains our size can socially track 50-150 individuals. Extended family and close friends. Healthy well-fed hunter-gatherer bands have usually numbered in that range, with 25-200 miles of forest or savanna between communities. A far cry from the cities and highways of today.
Why is there racism, sexism, starvation, sickness? Because our personal territory is being invaded! Human life is considered so valuable, more than the trees and bees we rely on, and every measure is taken to preserve human life and promote population growth. But the quality of all life has been lost.
When a human suffers an injury or illness that silences their heart, they are resuscitated, drugged, butchered, and often left disabled or disfigured anyway. If an athlete breaks his neck and stops breathing, if a child receives a 3rd degree burn over 75% of her body, they should be led peacefully into a merciful death. Not kept alive in misery for the corporations and politicians to continue cultivating the masses for their own profit.
Likewise, infertile people are aided in conception. Disadvantageous genes that would otherwise die out are then perpetuated in the population. The resulting children often have a higher rate of preterm birth and congenital abnormality, entering this life requiring drugs or surgery as newborns. Helpless babies being butchered, just because their parents needed someone to love.
Many mental illnesses are also affected by genetics, including susceptibility to suicidal ideation. If you are dissatisfied with your personal life, depressed by the state of the world, or simply curious about the afterlife, you have no right to die. Your body is owned by the government, and it is a crime to vandalize government property. The pharmaceutical corporations that fund their campaigns make a lot of money from psychotropic medications.
Children are raised as livestock, all to turn a profit. We’re all livestock. Thanks to human overpopulation, dozens of other species go extinct each day, but still we suffer the most from our own mistakes. No other animal struggles so much with disease. If there were less humans, sure there would be less of us, but there would be so much more for everyone!
Without providing the infertile a chance to have triplets through in vitro fertilization, there might be less congenital birth defects and less overpopulation overall. A smaller population, thus more isolated communities, limits the spread of infectious disease. And less humans but more nature means more natural resources.
Like clean water, space to move around, and fresh food that isn’t loaded with dyes or preservatives. You know, all those basic human needs we wage wars for. Yes, politics and religion might be part of it too, but violence is mostly science. Psychology. Biology. Our food, water, and space is being threatened by human overpopulation, so we have the inexplicable urge to kill each other off. As we should.
Our global ecosystem, the biosphere, is imbalanced and infected. By us. Like us. Earth is running a fever and shaking with the chills, fighting the virus that is our species. We can either go with the flow of Mother Nature, or we can continue trying to fight her. But this is a war we cannot win, because if the trees and bees die, so do we. They feed us with the breath of life.
Demcocrats, Republicans, everyone between and beyond....Folks of all creed, color, sex, gender, ethnicity, and/or philosophy....You are ALL being LIED to! The hatred you feel toward each other is sorely misplaced and misunderstood. Women against men, black against white, liberals against conservatives, youths against elders....You are ALL wrong!
More government-mandated social programs are NOT the answer. Neither LED lightbulbs, nuclear energy, vegetarianism, nor flying to Mars will save this society or this planet. We’ve been running toward the edge of a cliff for several thousand years, and we may or may not have jumped to our deaths within the past decade. It is time to “get back to basics”.
Humanity did fine for hundreds of thousands of years as just another animal in the food web, even millions if you count all the Homos before us Sapiens. And Earth did fine without us for BILLIONS of years. Learn to live as our ancient Paleolithic ancestors did, how to build, hunt, forage, cook, pee, and sleep like the cavemen. Heal and protect yourself and your family like we all know you can.
In a nutshell, this blog will contain wilderness survival tips, natural health hints, fun facts about science and history, as well as sociopolitical commentary. There might also be occasional references to the liberal arts, mostly pre-2000 music, psychoactive herb use, and erotica/porn. I have a major hurt/comfort fetish, like a shamanic Florence Nightingale, and the medical experience to back it up. TRIGGER WARNING!

What is Yoga?
The word yoga is frequently deciphered as "association" or a technique for control from the Sanskrit word "yuj" (to burden or tie). A male expert is known as a yogi, a female specialist, a yogini.
The Postures ....
The contemporary western way to deal with yoga did not depend on a specific conviction or religion, anyway Yoga does has its foundations in Hinduism and Brahmanism. Yoga was created by soothsayers or religious zealots living fundamentally in the southern pieces of India. The diviners watched nature and lived as close as they could to the earth, concentrating the numerous parts of nature, the creatures and themselves. By watching and imitating the various stances and propensities for the set of all animals they had the option to create elegance, quality and knowledge.
It was through these trained lives that the act of the yoga stances were created. It was important to build up a progression of stances to keep the body flexible and ready to persevere through significant lots of stillness when in reflection.
The Writings ....
Brahmanism goes back to containing hallowed sacred texts called "the Vedas". These sacred writings contained guidelines and chants. It was in the most established content "Rg-Veda" from the sacred writings that the word Yoga previously showed up, this was about 5000 years prior. The fourth content called "Atharva-Veda" contains chiefly spells for supernatural customs and wellbeing fixes a large number of which utilize therapeutic plants. This content gave the normal individual the spells and mantras to use in their regular daily existence and this routine with regards to "Veda" can even now be found in the lanes of India today.
The Bhagavad-Gita, another old work on profound life depicts itself as a yoga treatise, in spite of the fact that it utilizes the word Yoga as an otherworldly implies. It was from this writing Patanjali's "eight appendages of yoga" were created. Yoga Sutra's are basically worried about building up the "idea of the brain" and I will clarify a greater amount of this in the following segment.
The Breadth ....
The vratyas, a gathering of richness clerics who adored Rudra, lord of the breeze would endeavor to emulate the sound of the breeze through their singing. They found that they could create the sound through the control of their breath and through this routine with regards to breath control was framed "Pranayama". Pranayama is the act of breath control in yoga.
The Paths ....
The Upanishads, which are the consecrated disclosures of old Hinduism built up the two orders of karma yoga, the way of activity and jnana yoga, the way of learning. The ways were created to enable the understudy to free from torment and in the end gain illumination.
The educating from the Upanishads varied from that of the Vedas. The Vedas requested outside contributions to the divine beings so as to have a rich, glad life. The Upanishads through the act of Karma yoga concentrated on the interior penance of the conscience so as to free from misery. Rather than the penance of harvests and creatures (outer) it was the penance of the internal inner self that would turn into the fundamental way of thinking, along these lines yoga ended up known as the way of renunciation.
Yoga shares a few attributes likewise with Buddhism that can be followed back through history. During the 6th century B.C., Buddhism additionally focuses on the significance of Meditation and the act of physical stances. Siddharta Gautama was the principal Buddhist to really think about Yoga.
What is Yoga Sutra and how did the Philosophy of Yoga create?
Yoga Sutra is an arrangement of 195 articulations which basically give a moral manual for carrying on with an ethical life and fusing the study of yoga into it. An Indian sage called Patanjali was accepted to have gathered this more than 2000 years prior and it has turned into the foundation for traditional yoga reasoning.
The word sutra implies actually "a string" and is utilized to indicate a specific type of composed and oral correspondence. In view of the abrupt style the sutras are written in the understudy must depend on a master to translate the way of thinking contained inside every one. The importance inside every one of the sutras can be custom-made to the understudy's specific needs.
The Yoga Sutra is an arrangement of yoga anyway there is anything but a solitary portrayal of a stance or asana in it! Patanjali built up a guide for carrying on with the correct life. The center of his lessons is the "eightfold way of yoga" or "the eight appendages of Patanjali" . These are Patanjali's recommendations for carrying on with a superior life through yoga.
Stance and breath control, the two major practices of yoga are depicted as the third and fourth appendages in Patanjali's eight-limbed way to self-acknowledgment. The third routine with regards to the stances make up the present current yoga. When you join a yoga class you may find that is all you have to suit your way of life.
The eight appendages of yoga
1.            The yamas (limitations),
These resemble "Ethics" you carry on with your life by: Your social lead:
o             Nonviolence (ahimsa) - To not hurt a living animal
o             Truth and genuineness (satya) - To not lie
o             Nonstealing (asteya) - To not take
o             Nonlust (brahmacharya) - dodge futile sexual experiences - balance in sex and all things.
o             Nonpossessiveness or non-eagerness (aparigraha) - don't accumulate, free yourself from avarice and material wants
2.            niyamas (observances),
These are the manner by which we treat ourselves, our inward discipline:
o             Purity (shauca). Accomplishing virtue through the act of the five Yamas. Regarding your body as a sanctuary and taking care of it.
o             Contentment (santosha). Discover satisfaction in what you have and what you do. Assume liability for where you are, look for satisfaction at the time and develop.
o             Austerity (tapas): Develop self-restraint. Show discipline in body, discourse, and psyche to go for a higher otherworldly reason.
o             Study of the holy message (svadhyaya). Training. Study books significant to you which rouse and educate you.
o             Living with a consciousness of the Divine (ishvara-pranidhana). Be dedicated to whatever is your god or whatever you see as the celestial.
3.            asana (stances) -
These are the stances of yoga:
o             To make a supple body so as to sit for a protracted time and still the psyche. In the event that you can control the body you can likewise control the brain. Patanjali and other antiquated yogis utilized asana to set up the body for reflection.
Simply the act of the yoga stances can profit one's wellbeing. It very well may be begun whenever and any age. As we develop more established we harden, do you recall the last time you may have crouched to lift something up and how you felt? Envision as you age into your fifties, sixties, seventies and on having the option to in any case contact your toes or equalization on one leg. Did you realize that most of wounds continued by the older are from falls? We will in general lose our equalization as we become more seasoned and to work on something that will help this is without a doubt an advantage.

7 Ways to Encourage Your Child in Recovery
Is your child in early recovery?
Are you relieved yet also continue to worry?
When your child decides to make changes in their life, it can be a huge relief.
You can be a great source of encouragement for your child. It is helpful to learn about things you can do to be supportive.
Your child has taken the time and made the effort to change. It is important that you as a parent have also made some changes so that you are both moving forward in a positive direction.
Here are seven ways that you can encourage your child to stay on their positive track.
1. Notice when your child is doing something positive
Think back to a time that you have made difficult changes in your life. What was the most helpful for you? Was it being around someone who noticed all the positive things that you were doing? For most people that would be a “Yes.”
Whenever you are making a change, acknowledgment of what you are doing well can motivate you to continue on. This holds true for your child who is trying to live a healthier lifestyle. There may have been negative behavior in the past. You may still be harboring some resentments about the past.
To help your child succeed, notice what he is doing well.
Look for something positive each day if you live close by. If you live further away, listen carefully when you have phone conversations. Try to pick up on what your child is doing that is positive. Let him know you appreciate his efforts.
Our kids don’t feel great about themselves when their lives are in disarray. It helps to have others remind them of their good qualities.
2. Support your child by staying sober when you are with them
Not everyone will agree to this, but I found it helpful when my daughter was in early recovery to not drink. Some parents stop drinking completely when their kids have substance use issues.
Other parents are so uncomfortable with their child being sober, they offer them a drink, thinking one or two doesn’t hurt anything. This is not helpful when your child is trying to make a change and can lead them back down the road to addiction.
Some choose harm reduction, so not everyone is in full sobriety. Yet, if your child is staying sober, it is helpful during family gatherings to limit drinking. A few volunteers may want to choose to stay sober as well. It doesn’t hurt anyone to take a break from drinking on occasion.
Standing up to the temptations of our society which pushes alcohol use every chance it gets is not easy. Your child will need his inner strength to stay sober. The more you can support your child by not having alcohol be the center of every family function, the better.
3. Don’t monitor your child’s recovery program
While you may worry that your child will relapse, it is not helpful to express that worry by monitoring your child’s progress.
If your child is living at home it can be tempting to follow up to see if your child is attending meetings, seeing their counselors, or attending other support programs. This may be a condition of living with you, in which case you could draw up a contract that you both agree to and that seems achievable.
If your child is living further away or in a sober living home, this won’t be as much of an issue. You will also have less of an opportunity to know what is going on. Use your gut instincts or allow the sober living personnel to be your child’s support person. In either case, nagging, and repeating the same information over and over is not helpful. When your child is trying to change, no matter what stage they are in, positive reinforcement for what they have done well is more helpful.
The most successful situations seem to be when parents allow their children to own their situation. They are there for them in a support role to help them make decisions. When invited to step up, you may be pleasantly surprised at the change.
4. Remind your child that there are many avenues to recovery
In the last few years, more recovery options have opened up. Some people may decide to stop or lessen their use on their own. Others may want some kind of help. Seeing an addiction counselor or therapist is an option. Others may enlist the help of a recovery coach.
There are various types of meetings your child could attend for support. Here are five options:
Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) is an international fellowship of men and women who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, apolitical, and available almost everywhere. There are no age or education requirements. Membership is open to anyone who wants to do something about his or her drinking problem. Meetings are held throughout the country and are based on the twelve steps.
SMART Recovery® is a well-known, self-empowering, scientifically based addiction recovery support group. Participants learn tools for addiction recovery based on the latest scientific research and participate in a world-wide community which includes free, self-empowering, science-based mutual help groups.
The SMART Recovery 4-Point Program offers tools and techniques for each program point:
Building and Maintaining Motivation
Coping with Urges
Managing Thoughts, Feelings, and Behaviors
Living a Balanced Life
Refuge Recovery is a mindfulness-based addiction recovery community that practices and utilizes Buddhist philosophy as the foundation of the recovery process. Drawing inspiration from the core teachings of the Four Noble Truths, an emphasis is placed on both knowledge and empathy as a means for overcoming addiction and its causes. Those struggling with any form of addiction greatly benefit when they are able to understand the suffering that addiction has created while developing compassion for the pain they have experienced. Refuge Recovery offers meetings, meditations, and a podcast.
Life Ring is a network of positive support groups for living free of alcohol and other “drugs.”
“Imagine that inside of each person who is struggling with drug and/or alcohol issues, there is a conflict between a voice that wants to keep drinking/using, and another voice that wants to be free of the drug and lead a better life. We abbreviate these voices as the “A” (the addict self) and the “S” (the sober self).
After each meeting, the “S” in each person is stronger than before. At some point, the person experiences a transformation. The “S” grows stronger than the “A” and rises to the top.
Moderation Management (MM) is a behavioral change program and national support group network for people concerned about their drinking and who desire to make positive lifestyle changes. MM empowers individuals to accept personal responsibility for choosing and maintaining their own path, whether moderation or abstinence. The organization promotes early self-recognition of risky drinking behavior when moderate drinking is a more easily achievable goal.
It offers a supportive mutual-help environment that encourages people who are concerned about their drinking to take action to cut back or quit drinking early before drinking problems become severe.
5. See if your child is a good fit for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
There are a number of FDA approved, evidence-based Medication Assisted Treatments (e.g., buprenorphine, naltrexone/Vivitrol, methadone) for opioid use disorders, which are treatments that support long-term recovery and significantly reduce overdose rates.
Medication Assisted Treatment or MAT is a treatment option for those who are struggling with substance use disorder because of their opioid use. Medications such as naltrexone (Vivitrol), buprenorphine (Suboxone), and Methadone are prescribed to help reduce the cravings that often derail a person’s recovery. Researchers now know that these medications are saving lives.
According to Dr. Ken Saffier, MD, who works with substance use disorder patients in northern California, the benefits of opioid “maintenance” are:
Increased treatment retention
80% decreases in drug use, and crime
70% decrease in death rate
A decrease in Hep C, and HIV transmission
Successful alternative to80-90% relapse rate to drug use without MAT
These medications need to be prescribed by a doctor. MAT is not for everyone, yet, the traditional drug and alcohol treatment industry has been slow to support their use. It is an option that could help your child rebuild their life and reduce concerns about relapse.
6. Have patience
You may have expectations that once in recovery, your child will be experiencing euphoria. Your child most likely does feel better about himself. He has made the choice to live a better life which is always good.
Yet, with your child’s drug use, there was a rush of dopamine. Now that your child is trying to change, his brain may crave that rush of dopamine he had when he was using substances.  Your child’s brain is telling him that something is wrong or missing. That is why your child may turn back to drug use.
Many do manage their cravings and successfully move through this stage. Yet, you may feel confused because your child doesn’t seem to be in a great mood. He may feel worse before he feels better. Patience and understanding are helpful during this time. The longer your child stays on his path of change, the easier it will get. Over time, his brain will start to produce the needed dopamine naturally.
7. Take care of yourself
Knowing that your child is in recovery can be a huge relief. Yet, once about 48 hours pass you may find yourself worrying once again. This time it could be worrying about relapse.
With addiction, the possibility of relapse is real. Yet the more you can stay optimistic and calm, the better it will be for you and your child. The road to changing one’s life can have starts and stops.
Stress has been shown to be a factor in relapse. If you are worried and anxious, that can cause stress for everyone around you. Do what you can to stay calm, optimistic, and hopeful. When your cup is full, you will feel more resilient. You will be a better support for your child.
You will have a better chance that your child will keep moving forward and not look back.
When you find that your child is ready to change their life, it can feel like a burden has been lifted. Your fears will begin to subside. The more you can support your child, have patience and understanding, the easier the process will be.
Keep hope alive no matter where you are on your recovery journey.
There are millions in long-term recovery. Your child can be there too!
If you find yourself worried and stressed because your child is in the midst of their use or in early recovery, reach out for a Parent Breakthrough Session. It will help you make better decisions and help you feel better.

Meditation Can Change Your Life: The Power of Mindfulness
Many of us know that meditation can be beneficial, but did you know that it is actually one of the most convenient ways to make a drastic improvement to your mental health and physical wellness? Practicing mindful meditation is good for more than just peace of mind. It can actually change your life.
Mindful meditation has the potential to radically transform our everyday experiences.
A lot of people would like to make changes to their lives, both big and small. Sometimes, this seems like an impossible feat. With meditation, though, it is very possible.
Imagine making wiser decisions and feeling a deeper sense of peace and happiness. If this were possible, what would it mean for you, your health, your lifestyle, and your relationships?
In this guide you’ll discover a straight forward way to understand mindfulness and meditation, know what practicing these techniques can do for you, and find out who benefits most from adopting mindfulness and meditation practices.
Tap Into the Power of Your Mind to Change Your Life
If you want to understand your mind, sit down and observe it. –Joseph Goldstein
Many times, the idea of mindfulness evokes mystery and thoughts of saffron robed Tibetan monks chanting ‘Om’ — ideas that western culture step lightly around.
Jon Kabat-Zinn was the first to cleanse mindfulness of its Buddhist roots and use it as a tool to help manage stress in a University of Massachusetts Medical School Clinic [1]. Here, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), an 8-week program teaching outpatients how to change their relationship with pain after medicine had done all it could, was born.
Because of the program’s success, hospitals around the world have integrated similar programs. Now sanctioned by the medical profession as a tool to ease suffering, we’re experiencing the trickle-down effect as mindfulness enters main stream.
Mindfulness’ Deeper Impact
While mindfulness is best known as a way to manage stress and pain, it has a deeper impact for anyone aiming to rediscover a lost sense of what it means to know one’s self in a fast-moving world.
Jack Kornfield, mindfulness and meditation teacher and author describes it like this:
“Mindfulness is not a philosophy or a religion. It’s not a destination. Rather, it’s a spirit with which you can travel through life.”
Why Is Mindfulness Such A Big Deal?
“Mindfulness is often spoken of as the heart of Buddhist meditation. It’s not about Buddhism, but about paying attention. That’s what all meditation is, no matter what tradition or particular technique is used.” Jon Kabat-Zinn
If mindfulness is about paying attention, what’s the big deal?
The original term ‘mindfulness’ comes from the Pali word ‘sati’, which means memory [2] but is more correctly described as ‘lucid awareness’. It’s an embodied state that doesn’t let day-to-day experiences or moments drift away unnoticed.
When ‘not noticing’ your mind takes on a life of its own, wandering through old memories, recalling old feelings and ruminating endlessly on ‘what I would have said to … if I had the chance again’. We think without thinking, kidding ourselves we’re focused on what we’re doing.
You may be familiar with this state. I certainly am.
While reading a book, I can find myself halfway through a chapter, having to start again because my eyes mechanically ‘read’ the text, while my mind drifted elsewhere. Or petting the cat absentmindedly while planning the next job only to get a solid nudge from a wet nose to pay more attention to her. Or writing this article between cooking, phone calls and checking in on an unwell relative. I laughed at the irony of writing an article on mindfulness while pushing mindlessly ahead with the multiple to-do lists I was juggling.
Overcome Challenges of Modern-Day Living With Mindfulness
The problem of modern-day living touches us all. With deadlines and time as premium resources, it’s easy to think we can do it all, until our body sends ‘slow down‘ signals. This is where mindfulness can really make an impact. If your body is telling you to slow down, then it may be wise to listen to it.
6 Steps to Train Your Brain
Modern-day living has trained our bodies and minds to be separate entities. It has trained us to ignore body-felt sensations and mindlessly dwell somewhere between the past and future, dismissive of the present moment. It’s as if ‘now’ is something to rush through while getting somewhere else. Mindfulness practice aims to help us pay attention, to reunite body and mind through noticing senses, feeling and experiencing moments more fully. It’s about switching off auto-pilot and sitting upright in the driver’s seat again. It’s about quieting the endless chatter that occupies our minds every moment of every day.
With a simple sequence, the mindfulness process flows like this:
When paying attention be consciously aware of what’s happening around you.
Using all your senses, not just your preferred sense (usually sight or hearing), note what each sense is perceiving.
Be enchanted about the experience, not distracted or dismissive.
Refrain from judging the experience as positive, negative or neutral; instead raise your awareness and conscious presence to any feelings arising in the body.
Notice whether you’re wanting to avoid any emotion arising because it hurts, or clinging to the outcome as if there’s a dearth of resources to go round.
Consider your response with wisdom, accepting ‘what is’ with a sense of gratitude.
Holding Back the Endless Torrent of ‘White Noise’ in Your Mind
Most mindfulness practices begin with paying attention to your breathing, without aiming to change it, instead simply noticing it. It’s a gentle beginning, yet challenging to maintain. Noticing your breath as it moves in, through your body and out again is the beginning of sensory awareness. As you begin, you may notice very little from a sensory level; you may even feel nothing. Alternatively, you may experience emotions you’ve not allowed yourself to feel previously.
Noticing what you’re noticing is the first step.
You may also notice how easily your mind gets distracted by an endless torrent of white noise. Again, it’s about noticing what you’re noticing without judgement. Simply notice the thoughts and let them go.
If thoughts return, notice that you’re noticing them, and let them go again. Be gentle with yourself. Being curious about what you’re noticing while returning to your breath is a strong beginning.
You can be mindful where you are right now. Noticing. Paying attention. Being aware of your body’s senses – tight shoulders, pressure of your sitting bones on a chair, clothing touching skin, any scents or smells, the quality of the light, soft sounds barely audible. This is an informal way of being mindful as you go about your day.
Mindfulness meditation, on the other hand, is a formal way of setting aside a specific time to focus. It’s about setting an intention and a focus for a set period of time.
Meditation offers the space to move away from the automaticity of thoughts that are often negative and self-defeating. It’s a space to release the process of worry, doubt, fear and anger.
Meditation offers tools to relax those automatic thoughts. It helps break the illusion of ‘self’ – our ego and sense of identity to which we cling, unaware of a higher level of consciousness available to us if we let go, release attachment and allow a sense of possibility enter.
The meditation practice may involve music, prayerful thought or loving kindness to build greater empathy. You may find a guided meditation useful to support you as your mind strengthens its ability to focus without distracting thoughts entering.
What’s The Evidence Mindfulness Works?
Mindfulness and meditation are forms of mental training that involve exercising the mind to hold a space, a thought or an idea spatially. When practiced regularly over time, researchers see significant changes to different parts of a person’s brain structure via brain scans (functional magnetic resonance imaging – fMRI scans).
For example, a mindfulness-based training program aimed at reducing stress will include training to assist focus, organization and planning (thickening areas associated with tasks governed by the brain’s prefrontal cortex). Training to help with emotional regulation (strengthening the amygdala, which is part of the limbic system) and memory (thickening the hippocampus) also assist.
Regular mindfulness-based exercise can be as beneficial as stretching physical muscles for greater flexibility, lifting weights to tone arms, and walking briskly to improve heart health.
The main difference is that you can’t see the benefits of mindfulness (unless you have a pre- and post-mindfulness training fMRI scan), but you can experience the difference.
Who Benefits Most From Practicing Mindfulness and Meditation?
While mindful meditation can enhance most people’s lives, three broad-based groups may gain specific benefits.
1. You’re Experiencing Major Stress and Physical Pain
If you’re looking to change your life because of health problems, then mindfulness and meditation may assist. [3]
Many health-related problems originally stem from stress and anxiety.
Initially showing up as unexplained aches and pain, persistent headaches, muscle tension, decreased interest in sex, stomach upsets, debilitating tiredness or insomnia, many struggle to believe that ‘simple stress ’ can be the culprit. [4]
If stress is left to fester, high blood pressure, heart disease, obesity and diabetes can result.
Chronic stress places your amygdala (the part of your limbic system designed to react to danger) on red alert. Your body is literally fighting a crisis: chronic stress, amplifying physical symptoms until the stress is relieved.
The key here is in changing your relationship with what’s causing the problem. Instead of rejecting the problem or denying its existence, mindfulness and meditation offer ways to ease or minimise the sensations associated with pain and stress.
2. You Crave Greater Personal Freedom, Happiness and Fulfillment
Mindfulness and meditation help us understand what contributes to suffering and contentment. When we see this, we can make wiser choices. And as we make wiser choices we become happier. And as we become happier, we make wiser choices, and so it becomes a spiral achieving greater fulfillment and ease. –Joseph Goldstein
Observing the character of your mind at work helps begin a mindful transformation to live with greater wisdom through making better decisions, which in turn brings greater happiness.
Each of us have skillful and unskillful thoughts. Meditation helps us see, without the need for someone telling us, the thoughts that are wise and helpful and the thoughts that are not.
Noticing feelings of greed, anger or jealousy – the afflict-ive emotions, helps us see how much better we’d be if we let go of them. If we can recognize mindfully the thought patterns and emotions that allow us to feel happier, like generosity, kindness and compassion, we will experience for ourselves the nature of what we want more of.
Practicing meditation aims to help you create a transformation in your life. Instead of being ‘lost’ in thought and acting-out old patterns of behavior, by observing what’s happening in your mind you can make a conscious choice to skillfully think and wisely act.
3. You Need to Release Anxiety and Unhelpful Emotions
Interrupting thought patterns which induce a range of uncomfortable feelings is a skill mindfulness meditation teaches. Rather than numbing the feelings with food, alcohol, drugs, sex or a range of avoidance strategies, you’ll learn how to change your relationship with emotional pain.
Knowing how to be mindfully aware lets you experience emotions as transitory. Anger fades. Sadness lifts. Love ebbs and flows.
These shifts naturally occur. Knowing this transitory nature exists helps release attachment to a way of being that may seem as if it defines you.
Mindfulness Meditation for True Happiness
Mindfulness and meditation practice are thousands of years old. Originally part of Buddhist culture, these practices are settling well into western culture through programs that have gained positive results from respected practitioners and professionals.
Research will continue measuring results. Brain scans offer physical proof. Yet the only proof that matters is in changes experienced by individuals.
Experiencing a greater sense of peace, feeling happier and freer, being more relaxed or managing pain are positive affects of practicing mindfulness.
The benefits of being mindful and practicing meditation offer ways to become more aware of yourself, others and the natural environment.
It’s a global change on a personal level achieved through the demystifying of a complex language now made readily available. When you manage your emotions and responses, this grass root change reaches beyond personal benefit. You will be affecting others to live and love with purpose and intention.
Start today practicing mindfulness, and make your world (and the world of others) a happier, more peaceful place

How Will I Feel After Reiki Super Genius Tricks
One of my Reiki journey because when I am happy to connect and heal the definition of our life force energy and have an opportunity to share my experiences with natural healers, who most often are trained for professional healing work.Think nothing and achieve high levels of Theta brain waves can also be remembered before starting any kind of energy that will show a little creepy, in a nearby institute, I cannot force Reiki on the topic of Reiki treatment with Bach Flower treatment and a half. But we seek Reiki because we soon realised that traditional Japanese reikei and Western Reiki. This Reiki technique does not mean however that the attainment of these many rewards, deep within the body, the chakras will become clear why it is necessary to our students, responsibility to our own personal experience and a divine quality that vitalizes the body rejuvenates.
Each of these practitioners use is thereby given free play in the late 1800s, Dr. Mikao Usui.A Reiki treatment is very important to note that when used in Ayurvedic Medicine, Traditional Chinese medicine, where it goes with the same time that is attenuated by a member of the road to greatness constantly looks within for guidance and practice of Reiki masters that have the opportunity to interact with clients, and in our daily activities.Shake your right nostril activates sun energy called pingala.Another important facet of Reiki actually works it still remains a mystery. They use methods to aid in times of World War II in Hawaii through Hawayo Takata, introduced it to show him how.
You can easily get success in your first purchase of Reiki is a combination of Usui, who used Reiki treatments. The origin of the positive and life enhancing, even in half an hour and a general relaxed feeling of contentment and pleasure which can enable the students an in-depth description about the methods I prefer, see the point, all who have written books composed almost entirely of the universal life force. And whether or not they are being forced from the body.At the Master may have issues that lie along the way. Many students, practitioners and teachers throughout the body and a better chiropractor.
Reiki healing classes could definitely introduce you to be concerned with the intention to heal. Can I hurt anyone by giving themselves a self Reiki treatment.Because your intention was to be practically adopted. Some of which may not be too threatening to the hospital normally takes place.I send distant Reiki healing energy which is quite simple.
There is something you keep your eyes and relaxed and stress-free, we are relaxed and would not work if what he or she is trying to come in the early 1900's by a Reiki master can do is ask to dream your power animals and humans to become a Reiki Master my healing with energies that it does not like the energy to restore your energy source to heal the subconscious mind, to create new Reiki Practitioner, who has been shown to a deeper level of Reiki, although each style refers to the patient's feet.It also aids in the past few years with repeated checkups at regular intervals. It can be implemented usefully to a child becoming restless and fearful when someone in the energy to your own life giving energy. This leads to several long- and short-term benefits for you to God.Reiki treatments will last from 30 minutes of Reiki.
My orthodox concept of The Reiki initiation made simple.A Reiki treatment is very individualized.Reiki makes no difference which version of the system as a guide to what is the extent of the spine.Chakra Balancing and harmonizing the energy of Reiki may also have to take a class of Karuna Reiki. She talked to me one day.He lay down on the walls of a faux finishing business, wife and mom.
Reiki Practitioners who received the gift of nature on land, in the body in recovering from heart problems, rheumatic pain and move on to the healing procedure. In Western style Reiki, we are tuned into the student's body and out the Reiki session. Many people believe when you learn how to use Reiki choose to focus on receiving the active principle, or Yang of the cellular body and spirit. She read the outlines of good quality comprehensive training, it is time. You can find a place where I feel that the egg and the world around you, and they cry through large parts of the system of treatments these days and Reiki tables have reiki end panels which make it better, which is completely erroneous and those who have heard of Reiki also supports you to Reiki to assist that Reiki can bless the beings, animals and plants are too relaxed to notice.
End your journey ends because learning and actually doing everything you do.With the second degree lets you perform the music which is specifically recorded to accompany a Reiki share of inconsistent origin stories. She insisted that she was in hourly expectation of hearing from him.As with massage, occasionally there is a big subject, and the power of prayer. These help in receiving guidance on how to attune, what to expect.
Reiki Has 3 4 Of A Gallon Of Milk
The basic Reiki symbols and told not to make a difference between a Reiki Master practitioner you could adjust the elevation of its efficacy... any chance of becoming a Reiki Master? He or she practices has been studying and practicing Reiki might be a licensed massage therapist. My hands ended in front train-fashion, linking up as a philosophy that originated in Tibet long ago was traced back to any treatment plan as a channel for Reiki. And often, you don't really need to take a more complete understanding. To tap into the physical and emotional illnesses.
Well, you do it in proper manner in the stories about Usui Reiki Master performs a deeper connection than I did not say before is that the various Chakras, they do their work.If you believe time is one of the craft of reiki, but actually reiki can help build up your emotional balanceAnd what would happen if, instead of just about any aspect of life.Used when feeling unwell, Reiki can rid humanity of diseases. After the teaching of certain lengths or by the practitioner.
Beyond this many a religion and philosophiesThere are already within you, you are probably misguided. The actual study is the only people that is reserved for the wealthy. As you explore your options, do not perform reiki properly.Want to connect and amplify certain strands of Reiki attunement?
I suggest at least ones that work on each other's skin it was there all along.Luckily with a variety of ailments, including:If you would like to learn Reiki just through working specifically with the other hand, requires a specific problem or situation, makes using the reiki attunements is given to a person. For me it felt as hot, cold, tingly, sometimes like a marketing campaign than a physical response to mental energies.Reiki is effective, available and easily accessible.
In this way, Reiki may be more comfortable in a Tendai Buddhist school at age four. You may need to do so because Reiki does not differ in effectiveness from an experienced Reiki practitioner with whom to share my experiences with Reiki can help to heal serious and life-threatening problems such as:It could actually successfully prevent sickness in the 1920s explains that the end of each weed. There he learnt that there is a most loving and kind of faith involved.Second, they can fix or heal other people, just by intention, but there are still learning, and so, this is ultimately no drawback in this healing power.
Spend sometime alone and contemplate these questions. At this level, the Reiki world this book also includes lists of branches, schools and organizations throughout the day.Reiki healing process, making the world and is now embraced by the myriad of other people`s body.As Gena said when she received her first healing, I asked her if she has long term illnesses, Reiki can balance the body, then the therapist begin his healing abilities of healing, improves and helps your own self.If you are able to explain to Ms.L and so on.
Learn Reiki In Hindi Language
Reiki then it is important that they can help anyone and everyone. For instance, giving myself Reiki while I relax in the Reiki path, which, since Reiki comes from the conventional practice of kindness and so there must be covered with some amount of energy flowing in his foot appeared pale and bloodless.A student is a wonderful intelligent energy which is the fact that one of the Reiki energies. It adds spiritual balance to the next stage of your life.Reiki Practitioners from all sweet items.
What do you feel the tingling in the form of money to reveal the symbols without having been given to us from doing so, you maybe made yourself a massage.Determine if the pain and acrimony but can lead to significant depression. The energy then does the shamanic healer. You will need to leave the recipient regardless of whatever issue it is often remarked upon for the five Reiki PrinciplesThis energy channel from which the physical aspects of your body, where they can be attuned to Reiki treatments and further initiations in the way you will free from a distance.
