bucktommy + coffee shop au
Ngl I had to google what these were cause I've never read one. Anyways!
Buck works as a barista in a small coffeeshop not far from the 118. Tommy stops in before his shifts and usually orders the most boring long black (americano but stronger) that he can. He's initially a little withdrawn, not reciprocating Buck's blatantly obvious flirting, but Buck is determined to crack him.
After a few months of chatting (generally one sided but Buck doesn't care), Tommy begins to be a little more open with him. Buck learns his boss is a bit of a dickhead and he doesn't want him to know about his sexuality, so he usually keeps his head down when he's this close to work. Buck understands and dials back on the flirting, instead turning his attention to finding Tommy a different type of coffee with "more flavour and not just dark like Tommy's soul" (Buck's words)
Every time Tommy comes into the cafe, Buck makes him his coffee, but he also makes a smaller option, of whatever flavour is most popular that week. He gets creative too, mixing in different pumps of syrup, adding some spices, but also sticking to the favourites like pumpkin spice lates, peppermint mochas and the like. Tommy declares all of them far too sweet, but Buck can see from the twinkle in his eye that he's secretly enjoying it.
One day Tommy comes in with another couple of men, and Buck can instantly see a change in him. They're all wearing firefighter's uniforms and when Buck catches Tommy's eye, the guy shakes his head imperceptibly. Getting the hint, Buck acts as though he's never met Tommy before, being perfectly cordial to him and the other men. One of them is much older and has terrible manners, and Buck assumes this is the dickhead boss. In a spur of the moment decision, Buck writes his number on the bottom of Tommy's cup, with a short message saying "if you need to talk". He taps it as he hands the cup to Tommy, hoping he understands.
It isn't for a couple of days that Tommy calls. He hasn't come to the store before then and Buck is starting to get worried. Tommy asks if Buck would be willing to meet somewhere and chat for a bit. Buck readily agrees, and he and Tommy (ironically) meet for a coffee, where Buck judges the way Tommy's coffee is made and reckons he could do it better. Tommy tells Buck that after the other day, his boss was fired and it was like a huge weight was lifted off his chest. He feels more comfortable being himself around his coworkers, and says he's liked Buck for a while now and would really like it if they could go on a few proper dates together. Buck, who hasn't been at all subtle about his crush on Tommy, readily agrees and their relationship begins.
Send me a ship and an AU!

Where I live, there’s an old firehouse that was converted into a coffee shop and now I’m thinking about a coffee shop au where Buck owns a shop like that, maybe it’s called HotShots lol and it becomes a popular place for firefighters and that’s how he ends up meeting the 118 and Tommy. The first time he comes in, he tells Buck to surprise him and even though the drink is godawful, he refuses to tell Buck his order. So they make it a thing, Buck makes him a different drink each time, determined to get it right, they flirt, they exasperate the 118 and Harbor, who start a betting pool of who will ask out the other first. Tommy comes in on his off day, when Buck is short-staffed so of course he jumps in to help and it’s a busy, stressful day but they realize hey we make a pretty good team. At the end of the day, when they’re cleaning up, Tommy notices Buck has flour on his cheek from making pastries so he leans in to wipe it off with his thumb and then Buck grips his wrist to keep him there, closes the distance, and they finally, finally kiss.

for @bucktommypositivityweek Tuesday 8/20: outsider's perspective | at the coffee shop | 1372 words | rated T
There were pros and cons to working at the coffee shop next door to LAFD Station 118, that was for sure.
The lights and sirens could get overwhelming at times, blazing by with no warning. Eliza sometimes had to cover her ears, and during her very first week behind the counter she’d flinched so badly she dropped a pitcher of near-scalding milk when the third firetruck in ten minutes had screamed out of the garage – that had been fun – but she’d more or less gotten used to the noise.
Business was really reliable. Some of the firefighters and EMTs who came in had stupidly complicated drink orders, but the majority just wanted their coffee strong and in copious quantities. They were good tippers, for the most part. And when they had the time to hang out and shoot the shit for a while, they always had the craziest stories.
Eliza liked the vicarious excitement. Eliza’s life was not exciting.
She hadn’t even intended to work here as long as she has, but you know, life happens. A summer job before community college started up turned into a bout of depression that meant pushing school back a semester. And then another. And then her sister had gotten pregnant and needed help leaving her asshole of a boyfriend, so she’d moved in with Eliza and that had meant a lot more bills, of course.
It was whatever. She did some classes online here and there, when she had the time. Her nephew turned two and was drop dead hilarious. And she liked her job; it wasn’t complicated, but there was good variety from day to day. The manager kept the schedule predictable and wasn’t an asshole. Coworkers came and went, but they were mostly decent. She got by.
The regulars were definitely the best part of the gig. The 118 A shift were in and out nearly every day, and Eliza liked to think that some of them had become – something close to friends. Maybe the kinds of friends you saw at work, or in class. There was Hen, the beautiful paramedic with an even more beautiful wife; and Howie, who was weirdly hot for his age and always ready with a stupid joke. Eddie, who practiced his Spanish with Claudia when she was behind the counter. The captain, who was the best tipper of the whole crew and always remembered to ask after people’s kids and spouses.
And then there was Buck. His credit card said Evan, but he always asked them to write Buck on his cups, so that was what they did. He was tall and muscular and his hair had a little red-gold tinge to it when the light hit it right, and Eliza could admit that she’d had a crush on him since probably the second time he’d walked through the coffee shop door.
It wasn’t even the long legs or the muscles, though those were nothing to sneeze at; Buck had one of the most expressive faces she’d ever seen. It was like there was a little weather system right in the crease between his eyebrows, broadcasting every emotion for the world to see: rainy and stormy when he was down, or bright like the sun whenever things were going well.
He was chatty, too; loved to strike up a conversation with anyone, regardless of how they were dressed or what side of the counter they were on. They started a “question of the day” on the chalkboard just because Buck kept coming in with new facts to share with everyone.
So, yeah. Eliza had been nursing her crush for years, at this point. It was lame, she knew it was lame – but it was harmless. Buck was the perfect kind of guy to have a crush on, if you asked her. He was in proximity enough to keep it fresh, but distant enough that nobody’s annoying traits got in the way. Like the good friend of your older brother, or the guy who sat across from you in class: close enough that something felt almost tangible, but never too familiar. Never close enough that she saw any of his flaws, and certainly never close enough that he saw any of hers.
She’d thought seriously about giving him her number, once. She’d kind of felt like things were ramping up between them for weeks – their banter had felt a little extra charged, a little more flirty than a simple barista-customer exchange warranted. She told herself she was imagining things and only let herself think about him when she was drifting off to sleep in her creaky double bed, making little deals with herself: if he says this tomorrow I’ll do that. If he makes a crack about my apron again, I’ll write my number down. If he references that inside joke, I’ll ask him out. I will.
The next day, Buck had been walked to the front door of the coffee shop by a gorgeous, slim redhead with a dynamite smile, who’d kissed him passionately goodbye on the doorstep. He’d come in like he was walking on air, and Eliza had served him his usual with a smile, and crumpled up her daydreams like so much receipt paper.
Things actually got a little easier, after that. The redhead had stuck around for a while, and then there had been a hint of an explosive argument, and she had disappeared. Buck had seemed down for a while, and then he’d bounced back; things had been normal for a while, and then he’d been gone – Hen had alluded to some kind of medical leave, and everyone’s faces had been a little more pinched than usual for a bit. But he’d bounced back from that, too.
And Eliza’s life had gone on. It wasn’t exciting, but it was nice. She took her classes. She was saving some money. She had a friend in a band, and most weekends she went to see them play out around the city. Once there had been people making art, live, painting to the music while the bands were on, and she’d gotten to try her hand at it, and liked it so much that she started taking an art class every Tuesday afternoon at the community center around the corner from her apartment. Her nephew was about to start kindergarten, which was going to free up a lot of time and money for her and her sister. Life was good.
She was a little older, a little wiser. She still worked in the same coffee shop, and Buck still came into the same coffee shop, and they made the same jokes, and he seemed a little older and a little wiser, too. It was comforting, in a way, to think that they both were finally growing up.
Sometimes she still wondered, with the tiniest little pang, what might have happened if she’d been brave enough to give him her number, way back when. Sometimes she still let herself dream about him, just a little, only while she was falling asleep. What it might have been like to ask him. What it might have been like to kiss him.
One day Buck came in accompanied by a new guy. He was handsome, as tall as Buck – maybe a little broader in the shoulders – with brown hair and piercing blue eyes. Eliza wondered, briefly, if he was a probie or a new transfer to the 118. He was definitely another firefighter; she had gotten to know the type, could tell just by looking at him. He was looking at Buck like he had all the answers to the new guy’s questions. And they were holding hands.
They were holding hands.
Oh.
Eliza could have laughed. Oh, she could have gone into hysterics right then and there, she really could have. But instead she put on her most professional smile, and raised her eyebrow only a little bit at Buck’s obvious blush. The new guy’s coffee order was clearly some kind of inside joke.
She could work with that. She loved her regulars, loved an inside joke.
She wrote Tommy on his cup and had the feeling that this guy was going to stick around for a while.

Bucktommy AU
Where Tommy frequents a bakery/coffee shop a couple of blocks away from his house because it’s the only place that opens at the crack of dawn. Tommy isn’t much of a cooker, so he gets a coffee and a pastry to go there before driving to work.
One day a new guy shows up, whose coffee ends up being terrible, but the pastries are to die for. And he looks cute, always happy and smiling, and Tommy’s day always gets better when he sees that guy in the morning.
Tommy learns the new baker’s schedule showing up on his work days a little bit earlier for a few more minutes of small talk with “Buck”.

Accident Prone Buck gets rescued by fire pilot Tommy Kinard AU:
The first time they met wasn’t even on a call. Tommy was out getting something to drink from his favorite coffee shop, when he ran into the cute Barista whose name plate read “Evan”.
“Hey there, what can I get for you today? Or would you me to take a guess at your perfect coffee order?” The Barista, Evan, asked.
“Do a lot of people ask you to guess their coffee order Evan?” Tommy responded.
“Well no, but I figure it’s a good way to shake up your routine. Mix things up a bit. Everyone should shake things up once in a while.”
“Well then I guess I’m convinced, take a shot at my perfect coffee.”
A few minutes later Tommy is picking up his drink from the counter while an excited Evan stands behind the counter waiting.
“Well how did I do? Is this how you like your coffee?” Buck says excitingly tapping the counter.
Tommy takes a sip of what tastes like a cup of cinnamon, milk and sugar that someone poured an expresso into.
“So not like that.” Tommy jokes
“Ah man, I was so sure. Let me you get you your actual order, it’s on me.”
“Hey don’t worry Evan, I think you did a good job for your first try.”
“Nah, it’s fine just tell me what you want.”
“I usually get a black tea with lemon, mint, and honey.”
“Wow, so I didn’t even have a shot at getting your order right. You should’ve said you preferred tea before I made you coffee”
“Yeah but watching you try to get it right was fun.”
Evan goes back to work getting Tommy his tea. While he is working on adding the honey to the tea there is a loud popping sound as the expresso machine explodes.
Tommy immediately rushes from where he is sitting behind the counter to see if everyone’s okay. When he gets there he sees Evan on the ground holding a small wound on his forearm.
“Are you okay Evan? Let me see the wound so I can treat it.” Tommy says.
“I don’t think that customers are supposed to be behind the counter” Buck jokes, but Tommy can see that the smile Buck gives is half hearted.
“Well I am a firefighter, so I think I’m allowed back here is case of an emergency.” Tommy says taking a look at the gash along Buck’s forearm.
Tommy gets to cleaning the wound and checking on Evan.
“What’s going on out here? HOLY HELL BUCK WHAT HAPPENED?!?” An older lady with a name plate that said Manager and Helena, said rushing out from the back.
“He will be fine miss, but we will need someone to call 911, and it looks like he might need some stitches.” Tommy said gesturing her to go to the phone.
“Don’t worry Helena, I am in good hands.” Evan said.
“So Evan, what’s all this Buck stuff about?” Tommy said flashing him a smile.
“It’s a nickname, but you can call me Evan it’s fine, I like the way you say it.” Evan says blushing beet red.
“You are adorable.” Tommy says as he finishes cleaning Evan’s wounds.
It’s then that the paramedics from the 133 arrive and take over, they are able to patch Evan up, and start to load him up to get him checked out at the hospital. Before the paramedics shut the door to the ambulance Evan gives Tommy one final wave.
(Let me know if you want me to write more snippets from this AU)

this was supposed to be a Bucktommy focus version of this ficlet (Buck & TK owning a coffee shop and Tommy and Carlos being regular customers) but it turned into more of a first meeting AU thing. And it got kind of long.
---
"Before we start your grand tour of LA, I need coffee." Tommy said, greeting his new neighbour Carlos. The guy had moved in next door to him about a week ago, and after talking to him and finding out he'd barely made it to the end of their street yet, Tommy had offered to show him the city.
"Alright. Are there any good places around here?'
Tommy smiled.
"Yeah I know just the place."
They'd decided to take Tommy's car so Carlos could sit back and check out the city without having to deal with traffic.
He drove them to a coffee shop he'd discovered a few months ago. He'd taken a short cut to get to work because he'd been running late and a rainbow flag had caught his eye.
Apparently the place had just opened and Tommy had made a mental note to check it out when he had more time.
The first time he'd actually gone in, there had been a fairly cute guy behind the counter. Definitely attractive and apparently a huge flirt, but not exactly the kind of guy Tommy tended to go for.
Though he was only human and he enjoyed the attention. And it turned out the coffee wasn't bad either so he figured he could come back every now and then.
The second time he stopped there for coffee, the place was a lot busier than the first time and the flirty guy had apparently called in reinforcements. There was a second guy behind the counter this time.
Tommy watched him for a minute. He was serving up an order for a woman and a little girl and winked at the kid and told her he'd put extra whipped cream on her drink.
"You spoil her." the woman commented with a laugh and the guy just shrugged and smiled as he watched them leave.
And oh. That smile. He was adorable.
Though knowing his luck, the woman was his wife and the kid his daughter.
"Hey, what can I get you?"
"Uhm I uh... a coffee... please?" Tommy stammered.
Smooth Kinard, smooth.
"I can do that. What kind of coffee? We kind of have a lot of different kinds."
"Uh yeah... I uh... what's your speciality?"
"We kind of just opened... so we don't really have that yet... But I'm told I'm really good at guessing people's orders. Can I try with you?" The guy asked, getting excited.
"Oh... uh yeah... yeah sure."
The guy looked him up and down.
"Ok. I know just what to make you. Any allergies I should know about?"
"No... I uh... don't think so."
"Alright. Give me a few minutes and I'll have your drink ready for you." He grabbed a marker and a to go cup. "What's your name?"
"Uh Tom... Tommy."
"TomTommy?" the guy gave him a grin.
"Uh... just... Tommy..." he corrected himself. He wasn't usually this much of a bumbling idiot around cute guys.
The guy nodded and wrote Tommy's name on the cup before turning around to make his drink.
Tommy watched him work. Watched the way his muscles moved under his slightly too tight shirt. imagined for a moment what he might look like without that shirt, before shaking his head and reminding himself of the woman and little girl that had been there when he'd walked in.
"Ok, here it is." The guy set his cup on the counter. "Be honest."
Tommy was curious and carefully removed the lid, a habit he'd picked up in the army, where some of the guys loved to play pranks on people by putting something in their drinks, and took a sip.
"And?"
Tommy tried his best to keep a straight face while making himself swallow the absolute worst concoction his poor taste buds had ever had the misfortune of coming across.
"It's uhm... different..."
The guy's face fell.
"You don't like it."
"It's uhm... not what I usually go for."
"Sorry... I don't actually guess people's orders... I just wanted to impress you." the guy admitted with a sigh. "Just tell me what you do like and I'll make you that. On the house. And you won't have to pay for this either."
"You... wanted to impress... me?"
"Hmm... it's not every day a Greek god walks into my shop." He said with a shrug. "Can't blame a guy for trying."
"I... I'm Italian actually. On my mother's side." Tommy's brain managed to come up with. He wanted to kick himself for being so awkward but the guy smiled at him so maybe it wasn't all bad.
"Well then I guess you're definitely used to better coffee than this."
"It's not that bad." Tommy lied but didn't make a move to take another sip.
"It's ok, you don't have to lie, I'm a big boy, I can handle it." the guy promised. "Just tell me what you do like and I'll make it. Latte? Americano? Ice coffee?"
Only before Tommy could reply, the little girl from before ran into the place and up to the counter.
"Uncle Buck! We lost mister snuggles!"
"Jee, inside voice please." the guy, uncle Buck apparently, told her after wincing and covering his ears in an overdramatic way.
"We lost mister snuggles." the girl repeated, at a more suitable for the environment volume.
"That's not good. Did you have it when you were in here with mommy?"
The girl nodded.
"I will look around and if I find him, I'll come bring him home to you myself tonight ok?"
Another nod.
"Where's mommy? You didn't run off without saying where you were going did you?"
As if on cue the door opened and the woman that had been with the girl earlier walked in.
"Mister snuggles disaster?" Buck asked her.
"Not anymore." she turned to the girl. "Auntie Hen just called to say you forgot him there, Jee. So let's go and get him and then go home. Daddy should be home from work by now. Say bye to uncle Buck."
The little girl reluctantly left with her mother and Tommy made a mental note of the use of the term uncle. Not his daughter then.
"Sorry about that. She's three and we haven't found her off button yet. Which is kind of my fault because that drink earlier was basically pure sugar. But normally that's her parents' problem." Buck joked. "Anyway, what can I get you that you will drink?"
Tommy smiled and felt his cheeks heat up as he put the cup on the counter.
"Just a latte is fine. I'm easy." He said and wanted to kick himself when he realised what he'd said. "I mean... for drinks. I'm easy to please for drinks. I uh... like simple things I guess. No fuss. Just... I'm going to stop talking now."
Buck laughed a little.
"One latte coming up." he said and made Tommy his drink. "Better?" he asked as he watched Tommy take a sip.
"Much. I mean the other stuff wasn't bad but... well..."
"it's fine." Buck waved his comment away. His coworker was busy helping other people but Buck didn't seem in any rush to move on to another customer.
And Tommy found that he really didn't want him to.
"So... Buck?" he asked after staring at the other man like an idiot for way too long.
"It's a nickname. Short for Buckley. My last name." he replied with a shrug.
Tommy nodded.
"And what's your first name?"
"It's uh... It's Evan."
"Evan Buckley." Tommy said, testing out the name. "Is it ok if I call you Evan? I think it suits you better than Buck."
Buck Evan smiled and ducked his head and Tommy swore he was blushing.
"Yeah... Yeah that would be ok."
That had been a few months ago, and the place had become Tommy's number 1 stop to get coffee. He'd wake up earlier than necessary so he'd have time to talk to Evan before he had to go to work, and on his days off he had to remind himself the cafe was Evan's place of work and he'd look like a stalker if he camped out at one of the tables the entire day.
They'd gone out on a couple of dates and after the last one they'd ended up in Tommy's bed together and he'd discovered making coffee wasn't the only skill Evan possessed.
He was pretty sure they were on the same page, but they hadn't officially defined them yet.
And maybe offering Carlos a tour of the city was the perfect excuse to go see Evan on his day off.
And then maybe invite him over for dinner. So he could ask him to be his boyfriend. As juvenile as it might sound, Tommy really wanted Evan to know he was serious about them, and didn't want either of them to date anyone else.
The place was a little too busy for Tommy's liking when he and Carlos walked in and he could see Evan do a double take when he noticed the two of them coming in together.
"Hey, Tommy right? What can I get you? The usual?" he asked and Tommy realised he was trying to stay professional for Carlos' sake.
He decided that wouldn't do and put on what he hoped to be his flirty voice and told Evan to surprise him. Judging by the grin on Evan's face it had the desired effect.
He briefly glanced at Carlos who was deciding what to order and talking to TK. Tommy figured he was in good hands and focused his attention on Evan.
"Busy day?" he asked, trying to start a conversation. "I've been telling everyone I know about this place. Even dragged my new neighbour over here by offering him a tour of the city. Looks like my work is starting to pay off."
Evan briefly glanced at Carlos before looking back to Tommy and smiling.
"And we appreciate it very much, I'll have to think of a good way to thank you." he leaned forward onto the counter. "How about coffee and something sweet?"
Tommy smiled and leaned closer too.
"I won't mind a little sweetness."
Evan laughed and pulled him to the side and briefly kissed him.
"I was hoping you'd do that." Tommy grinned. "I kind of like it when you do that."
"Good thing I like doing it too then." Evan replied. "You look nice today." he smoothed out non existing wrinkles in Tommy's shirt. "All this for a little sightseeing?"
"I'm just being friendly... are you jealous?"
"No... I just... would like to spend more time with my boyfriend when he's looking like this instead of him hanging out with another guy all day."
"Boyfriend?" Tommy asked, hopeful.
"I uh... yeah... I know we haven't really talked about... us... yet... but uhm... I'd like it... if you were my boyfriend."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah... It's ok if you're not there yet or want to keep things more casual or..."
Tommy put two fingers under Evan's chin, tilted his face up, and softly kissed him to shut him up.
"I'd really like to be your boyfriend. If you'll be mine."
Evan looked at him with a dopey smile on his face.
"I... I yeah... yes... yours... ok... yes." he stammered and Tommy couldn't help himself and kissed him again.
"God you're adorable."
Evan blushed and mumbled something under his breath Tommy didn't quite catch, but was pretty sure it was something along the lines of "shut up" and "I'm not."
He decided to ignore it for now. He'd have plenty of time to convince Evan if he had anything to say about it. He squeezed Evan's hand to get him to look at him again.
"So my friend is getting married soon... And I kind of need a date..."

“E–Evan Buckley,” he croaks out, and the sound makes him want to be devoured by the floor but he’s not that lucky. “Evan,” Tommy repeats, trying the name out on his tongue. Hearing Tommy say his name makes his knees wobble and the feeling in his belly stretches up into his chest. “Y–yeah,” he lets go of Tommy’s hand and the warmth in his body evaporates, “but, uh, most people call me Buck.” He doesn’t know why, but he doesn’t want Tommy to call him Buck – there was a softness, a gentleness, to the way Tommy said his name that he wants to hear again. And again. And again. “But Evan’s fine. You can– you can call me Evan.” “Okay. Evan.” Tommy’s smile stretches into a grin, his eyes crinkling, and he steps past Buck, brushing him in a way that has Buck’s breath catching in his throat. “Want to rack the balls?” “What?” Buck twists to face Tommy, face scrunching up in confusion. “Do you want to rack the balls?” Tommy matches his expression as he gestures to the table near them. “I mean, I can if you don’t want to.” “Oh. Right. Uh, no, I–I got it.” Warmth floods him and for the first time tonight, he knows this feeling. Embarrassment. He steps to the table, shoving some quarters in the slots, and clicking the button in. The machine spits out the balls and with shaky hands, he places them on the table in the triangle.
👻 grief fic (major character death; Bucktommy; Eddie & Buck's interaction in this snippet is strictly platonic)
Somewhere in what feels like the far off distance he hears a lock sliding. A door opening, closing. Footsteps stomping up stairs, then the bed dips behind him and hands are gripping him, pulling him against something solid. For the first time in 4 days, 17 hours, and 23 minutes, Buck cries – it’s like a dam has opened up in him and he can’t stop. It’s ugly, he knows, but he can’t stop. Snot runs from his nose, tears flood his face and mix with the saliva dripping down his cheeks. His chest aches, and it only gets worse when he tries to swallow the tears, swallow his sobs, so he doesn’t. Eddie doesn’t say anything – just holds him. The crying turns into hiccuping, which he also can’t stop. “I–I was going to propose.” His voice sounds so raw and his body shakes with another hiccup. “I–I was going to ask him to marry me.” Hiccup. “I didn’t get to ask him, Eddie.” A fresh wave of warm tears blur his vision before sliding down his cheeks and dripping onto someone’s clothing. “I didn’t get to ask him,” he repeats. Eddie finally speaks, “He would’ve said yes, Buck. He loved you.”
☕️barista!tommy + skateboarder!buck + unintentional college au (ages: buck is a senior in college, about 22; tommy is probably not in college and is 26)
“Okay…” Tommy doesn’t sound convinced, and Buck can’t blame him – he wouldn’t be convinced if he was him either. “The usual?” “Yeah. And, uh, an everything bagel with garlic herb cream cheese.” There’s a pause and Tommy’s eyes are on him, studying him, and Buck feels naked – exposed. “Are you sure you’re okay?” “Well, no. I kind of really want to kiss you and also buy you dinner but I don’t know how to tell you that–” Buck stops, mouth hanging open as it hits him that he has said everything out loud. For Tommy to hear. In a public coffee shop. And this is absolutely not at all how he wanted any of this to go but there it is – all out in the open – and Tommy is just staring at him, eyebrows raised. This would be a fantastic time for his legs to cooperate and take him out of the coffee shop, across the greenway, across campus, and back to his dorm. But he can’t seem to get his legs to work so he’s frozen to the spot across the counter, staring at Tommy who isn’t saying anything which is worse. “That’s– that’s not how I, uh, wanted to ask you,” Buck says, voice quiet and small.

Hi cia~ I'd like to know more about the hotshots coffee shop au pls <3
ivy hiii 🥰 lol I literally just came up with this one today but basically buck owns a coffee shop called Hotshots that used to be a firehouse. It becomes a popular place for firefighters and that’s how he meets the 118, among others- including Tommy. They flirt their way through interactions, until one day, Buck is the only one manning the shop because his staff is either off or sick so Tommy jumps in to help him and they end up kissing 🫠

Since I wasn't able to get the sequel to "mornings are sweeter with you" out today like I originally planned (because it ended up being a lot longer than I originally planned. Rn it's at 4500 or so words and the date is just about to happen. whoops), here's a tiny, unedited pre-date snippet to get you through to tomorrow:
”And he’s a firefighter,” Buck mumbles and downs yet another shot. ”A pilot firefighter.”
”So he’s also very smart,” Hen says. ”What’s the problem here?”
”I didn’t know I’m gay,” he tells them for what seems like the hundreth time that night.
”You’re not gay!” Hen and Karen say at the same time.
”How do you know?” Buck whines and slams his forehead against the table a little harder than he meant to and whines even more. ”Ow.”

Loved your recent fic!💗 What’s the next thing you’re working on?
Thank you so much 🥰🥰❤️ My hope was to finish the bucktommy coffee shop au with one final fic before season 8 began, but looks like that might not happen 🙈🙈 I have the tummy fic and migraine fic still in the * I'm thinking about it * phase. Plus, I really really really need to start properly working on the rwrb sequel fic but bucktommy has taken so much of my time, that I'll have to read what I've already got written for that fic because I've already forgotten 😭
Also my attention has been on an actual book I want to publish one day whoops who said that
