My thoughts on CX-2 (or Scuttlebug, as his name shall remain forever in my mind) in light of the finale.

Only good things though!

I know the Tech girlies are all in mourning, I feel you, but I do want to analyze Scuttlebug further now that we know he isn't Tech.

Because they did spend a lot of time focusing on him; so why?

This recent interview with Jen and Brad confirmed my own theories (it's also a good fun read for picking their brains over making this show we all love)

CX-2 is Crosshair's narrative foil.

I noticed how when CX-2 is shown, its usually right before or after Crosshair is shown- or Crosshair is the one to sense/pay attention to him.

Anytime CX-2 goes up against the Batch, it almost always turns into a 1v1 between CX-2 and Crosshair- the sniper duel on the staircase, the knife fight in the river (of course), and Crosshair missing the shot to tag his ship after the Pabu invasion. (and the hand thing. oof.)

He's the intrusive thoughts breathing down Crosshair's neck [You chose the wrong side]. His personal failures made physical. What Crosshair could have been if he'd just made a slight few different choices.

Essentially, in Extraction, Crosshair fought his shadow self and... well, he didn't lose, but he didn't quite win either.

Because he doesn't think he really is different from CX-2. He believes he deserves worse for everything he's done- as he says in The Cavalry has Arrived.

And this is why it's so important that Hunter is the one to kill CX-2, AND right after Crosshair knocks CX-2's DIRECT KILLSHOT at Hunter off course.

Hunter kills the shadow, kills the idea that Crosshair has anything left to atone for. Crosshair is his brother, and he's taking him home.

I always liked Brett Sawyer -- at least, I enjoyed watching him take a beating. He was chubby and cute in the face and hopelessly weak, I love guys like that! He was often compared to his older, stronger, more successful brother, Buzz. In this Tag Team match, Brett plays Face-in-Peril in baby-blue trunks, needing to be rescued by his hyper-masculine older brother.

Buzz watches in frustration from outside the ring as his little long-haired brother gets owned by the fierce Japanese warriors. They apply various Back-Breakers, knock his ass out of the ring, and repeatedly Drop-Kick him (which inspires Buzz himself to give his wimpy little bro a Drop-Kick too, ostensibly in error.)

We hear commentary in English dubbed over the original Japanese language. They repeatedly point out how weak and slow Brett is, how he doesn't belong in the ring with these other studs-- further emasculating him. Did they have any idea how these comments would make me horny to see Brett in more one-sided matches, getting utterly dominated?

The team up from hell: this one has Cass as the MC and it's Jason-centric (despite Jason's best efforts and Jason being barely in the story at all. Jason wants these people to leave him the fuck alone.) Basically Duke has a vision while accidentally touching Jason's scar of Jason bleeding out and dying from the batarang, and goes to Cass for help with the investigation (because the vision seemed to incriminate Bruce but it can't be, right?) So it's Cass (who dislikes Jason but can't handle the idea of Bruce killing anyone), Rose (is chill with killing and has a hard time minding the importance of parental abuse but is developing feelings for Jason and doesn't want Jason to get hurt), Roy (not RHATO compliant, got dragged into it by Rose after he lost Lian because he's destroyed and needs a monster he can punch, furious that a parent would kill their own child), Duke (equally freaked out about all the aspects of it and a real driving force of "we need to figure it out and face it no matter how badly we don't want it to be real") and Jason, who is less part of the team and more the uncooperative witness trying to stop them from solving his own murder.

Nightwing, Brothers in Trauma: This one includes the csa hc and is a continuation of the Blockbuster incident. Basically instead of Brothers in Blood, Jason finds out Dick locked up Catalina for killing Blockbuster (but not what she did to him) so he frees her from prison and they start dating. Dick is consequently freaked out but doesn't know how to explain to Jason why he's concerned, hence tensions manipulation fights misunderstandings etc. Eventually the truth comes out, they're both retraumatized as fuck and Catalina is back in jail... But then she's found dead and since neither Jason nor Dick wants to talk about anybody about anything about this situation, they have to team-up to solve the murder (and for Jason to prove his innocence) and actually talk about it despite their best efforts.

SPY x FAMILY (I don't know I've never seen the show)

I don't really know exactly where this idea came from. I just thought it was cool to draw Spy with Scout's mom and all of her sons, well dressed like they are some sort of organized spy/mafia group on a mission.

I really like scout, the pose turned out really great.

This scenario doesn't really make any sort of sens but I thought it was cool.

You can't stop me anyway.
