What's in a like?
What's in a like?
or in a like it alot?
Our household has a favorite film which we have now watched dozens of times, and that fact has me wondering why? Why that particular film?
We have a couple of other must-sees, like Connie and Carla, or Barefoot in The Park, or Moonstruck too. What draws us to these films or the otherswe frequently…

"Chapter 1. He adored New York City. He idolized it all out of proportion...no, make that: he - he romanticized it all out of proportion. Yeah....To him, no matter what the season was, this was still a town that existed in black and white and pulsated to the great tunes of George Gershwin... Uh, no let me start this over." . I love these opening lines from 'Manhattan' but I wish Woody Allen was personally less problematic, this post is just about his love of New York though so I hope it's OK. I also wish that when I went to NY in 2006 I'd taken more movie location pictures to use here. I did buy this snow globe from Macy's though. It's in the visually stunning 'Manhattan' (1979) that Allen's love of NY is most evident, but it's there in many of his films. So much so that when The Academy made a post 9/11 New York tribute film they asked Allen to introduce it (his only Oscar night appearance ever). In his speech he said; "for New York City, you know I’ll do anything, I got my tux, I came out here, it’s a great great movie town. Ever since I was a little kid, movies that I grew up on in New York, movies that were shot there, it’s been a great romantic and exciting backdrop for movies, New York, and it’s a great place to come and work and make your movies because it’s still a thrilling and very very exciting city". . You can see the film (by Nora Ephron) here: https://tinyurl.com/ybalvs9j . . . . . . #filmlover #filmlovers #instafilm #instamovie #filmfan #moviebuff #cinema #filmstagram #moviestagram #newyork #woodyallen #manhattan #broadway #bulletsoverbroadway #manhattanmovie #oscars #noraephron #filmlocations #snowglobe #movielocations #woodyallenfilm #bigapple #thebigapple #thebigapple🍎 #macys #macysnewyork #broadwaydannyrose #woodyallenmovie (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bs5K9SsH9l0/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1xm033w2s10da

Hi there. I enjoy your mad little rants. You're very amusing.
:D Well, thanks! Haha. It just amuses me to remember some of the Monkees-related experiences I've had and how naive/ridiculous/gullible/silly I was at the time. Mostly I post whatever comes into my head, and since I'm a writer, the majority of my posts end up as text posts, instead of pictures. Thank you for the kind words, though! I'm glad you enjoy my posts. :)
