British Pudding Day
Tracing its history back to the early 14th century, British pudding has evolved over time. The name likely started out as “poding”, which literally was an animal stomach filled with meat and boiled. And considering that at the time it was something sort of like a sausage, the term was somewhat fitting!
History of British Pudding Day
Developing into something that could either be savory or sweet, by the 17th century British puddings or “puds” were typically boiled in special bags that were just for making pudding. And by the 18th century, most puddings did not even include meat. These dishes were typically boiled but also started to be steamed as well. In modern times, however, puddings can also be baked, though this would not have been the traditional.
Today, the idea of pudding is almost exclusively related to desserts, unless preceded by a descriptor, such as “black pudding”, which is made from pig’s blood and may be included as part of a traditional English breakfast. Steak and kidney pudding is also savory, and is similar to a steak and kidney pie but the pastry is made from suet instead of being surrounded by a shortcrust pastry. Yorkshire pudding is another term for something that is savory, as sort of a roll or bread that is traditionally served with a roast dinner.
But, by far, sweet puddings are the most common. In fact, many restaurants have now simply taken to calling the sweet course that takes place at the end of the meal the “pudding”.
Sticky toffee pudding is a big favorite that consists of a sponge-like cake that is covered in a toffee sauce that is, well, sticky. Bread pudding, Christmas pudding and figgy pudding are some others.

So, one side of my family is AGGRESSIVELY British, and so that means that we celebrate the traditional 12 days of Christmas. It's Childermas right now, and we're discussing when we're doing Twelfth Night, since the 6th is a Monday. On top of that, I need to figure out what I'm wearing to our get together. I have no guide for a Twelfth Night outfit, and when I look it up I get memes about the Shakespeare play. So I guess I have to wing it lmao

Ok, now this is a souvenir-gift I received from a relative when they were in Newfoundland (I've never been to Newfoundland, hope to go one day). It was a bag of split-peas with instructions on how to cook them the traditional way to make "peas pudding" (peas porridge).

It says it's a traditional Newfoundland recipe but actually it seems it's a traditional British recipe. Same thing, really.
You remember the rhyme from when you were little? Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old. Some like it hot, some like it cold, some like it in the pot nine days old. I loved that rhyme for some reason when I was about 4 years old. I think because it was fun to say.
Anyho. That's what peas porridge is. I remember it was hard to get it out of the bag. I wonder if there's an easier way.
And that's about it! There's a Ziploc bag, I put the peas pudding bag and recipe in there. And a paper bag that I put in recycling. The wild rice I put on the other shelf together with the other rice, and I moved the banana chips, cookies and chocolate syrup from the other shelf to this one. The produce chart I taped to the inside of the pantry door. Slowly getting organized!

it was the hungarian gp. you were in the mclaren hospitality. the mclaren kitchen was quite big, and your co-workers were extremely sweet. you mainly cooked for the drivers and mechanics, while guiding the others. you were tasting a dish when you feel a presence behind you. you immediately recognise who it is.
"what is it now, lando?" you ask with a knowing smile on your face. he sits down on the counter beside you and watches you as you work. "i was wondering if you would like to, maybe, just maybe, come outside with me and sit down and talk and get some food you know?" he blabbers
"are you asking me out on a date?" you tease him. "well, yeah. only if you want it to be. its okay if you say no" he says with a sad smile on his face. you cup his face with one of your hands and give his cheeks a squeeze. "ofcourse i'll come, dumbass. now shoo, let me work. you're too distracting"
the smug smile he has on his face makes you blush. "so i am distracting huh? what else am i? you can give me details when we go on that date" he winks at you and walks off. you just simply shake your head in amusement.
the date goes well. to be honest, more than well. you both have the most fun ever. lando is everything that you craved. he was the sweetest boy. day by day, meal by meal, both of you started talking more, discovering each other. one fine night, in his apartment in london, where you taught him how to bake his favourite cake, he surprises you by asking you to be his girlfriend. you say yes without hesitation. you knew he wasn't going to play around with your heart.
it was the brazilian gp. lando had placed P2 again! you were the proudest girlfriend to exist, and the happiest. you were just so incredibly proud as he was doing so good this year.

Americanisms that annoy the crap out of me in writing

Welcome back to another post! Today is a little rant/PSA for all of you who use American English and terminology.
When I read books that are meant to portray British characters, I get so annoyed when I read jarring Americanisms. Here’s a list of them that are especially annoying (I’m sorry):
“Pants”
Pants = underwear. Every time I read something on Ao3 along the lines of “Harry spilled a cup of tea on his pants” I immediately think of him drinking said tea in his undies which is absolutely hilarious.
Somebody who can’t afford to go to the GP/hospital??
Hello, we have the NHS which is free at the point delivery!!! #rare uk w
I had to fully stop reading a fic when a British character couldn’t afford medical care and that was a whole plot-line.
As a medical student, this scenario is fully bizarre for me to comprehend. The only situation in which someone wouldn’t seem medical attention from my pov is if they don’t want to wait for hours at the A&E
Chips/crisps/fries omfg
Chips= the fatter ones you get with fish and chips

Cookies vs biscuits
To this day, I still don’t fully get the cookie/biscuit thing but according to my British friends who get annoyed when I mix them up, biscuits are meant to be crunchier (eg. Chocolate digestives & jammie joggers), while cookies are softer, eg. chocolate chip cookies
Biscuits covered in gravy????
What is that. That is not a thing. The UK equivalent would be a scone (sweet, eaten with jam and clotted cream or smth like that and which one goes first is a whole debacle) or a Yorkshire pudding.
Accent/slang
Different people from different areas in the UK speak differently & have different vernacular. When who’s meant to be posh speaks in roadman talk, it’s the funniest thing ever, so please do research carefully!
Takeout
Unfortunately I do say this quite a bit, but people are saying this more in the UK now imo. Takeaway is the preferred term.
Fall
“It’s fall because the leaves fall form the treeeeees” no bro it’s autumn. I grimace every time I read this in a book set in the UK.
I could care less
Ok, then care less? It’s I couldn’t care less, which makes more sense anyways.
Fanny pack
Fannies mean something else in the UK lol. It’s a bum bag, but this term is used more now maybe?
Freshman year? College? Frats? Spring break?
We have a different education system :) uni is three years usually, colleges are halls at uni or sixth form colleges
Little annoyances:
Math: It’s maths. Mathematics.
Vacation: holiday (more interchangeable now tho)
“Line up”: “QUEUE up”
On accident: by accident
Trunk/hood: boot/bonnet (I do a weird mix and say boot/hood, my bad lol)
I drive stick vs I drive manual (learnt this from my ex). Most people in the UK (and Europe) drive manual because it’s supposedly superior
Movie: film (more interchangeable now)
Principal: headmaster/mistress
There’s probably a longer list somewhere…
Thank you for bearing with me. My friends are now subject to me saying ‘trousers’ every time they say ‘pants’, I can’t help it (help I’m getting colonised)
Also look up slang (esp slang from certain parts of London, or roadman slang), they’re hilarious and I can’t help but say some of them now (I blame my friends but honestly calling a meal a scran is so funny)

What do amor and alexia do during Christmas time? Do they have any traditions?
Oooo this is a good one
So Amor and Ale’s Christmases growing up were very different
Spanish winter vs English winter are very different and the traditions are very different too
Amor is a little confused over the shit related holiday traditions - mainly the Caga Tió (the pooping log) and Caganer (the Christmas ‘crapper’). Amor defo gets very into it even if she doesn’t fully understand the traditions (especially around Ale’s cousin’s kids and whatnot)
She loves the grapes at New Year’s idea. If she’s at a party she’s 100% down to do it, but if it’s just Amor and Ale she’s not too fussed, if Ale wants to do it, she’ll happily whip the grapes out.
Amor goes all out for Reis d’Orient (the Three Kings) - she always offers to bake the Tortell de Reis and definitely loves getting the pressies for the kids (and Ale)
Alexia is equally as baffled by the British traditions. She’s not really used to a cold Christmas, and that’s definitely something she has to get used to. She thinks Christmas Pudding is vile (so does Amor so that’s not really a loss) and loves a Cracker. She’s not a giant fan of mince pies either.
She doesn’t understand the hype about the Christmas adverts but she smiles and nods along when Amor shows her the John Lewis one (Amor decides that it is officially Christmas when the John Lewis advert comes out)
Ale is not opposed to a roast, but she definitely prefers Spanish/Catalan food. (When they eventually have kids they come up with a Catalan Roast and it’s a random mix of Catalan and British food and it becomes their own family tradition)
They usually split the holiday between England and Spain, usually flying to Amor’s family before Christmas, then coming home and spending Christmas Day in Barcelona doing absolutely nothing (maybe some Christmas sex) before going to Alexia’s family after Christmas. New Year’s is usually reserved for friends/parties/etc. it remains the same when they have kids (Amor’s family before Christmas, the actual day just as a family, and Ale’s side after the holiday)

As you walked into the Ever funeral, you couldn’t help but feel the nostalgia hit you like a wave. This was where you’d learnt to cook, where you met some of your best life-long friends, and of course, Luca. As you looked at the halls you’d known so well, you couldn’t help but think about your time there, and how it had impacted you, in every way.

Your first day…
You walked in ten minutes early. You were supposed to be twenty minutes early, if you hadn’t had to stop and vomit before you left your new apartment. Chicago was growing on you, though you were surprised at how cold it truly got there, since you’d been living in Spain for the past couple of years. You walked through the halls, everything new, as you greeted fellow students/ chefs. Everyone knew who you were, you were supposed to be a rising star in the food world, winning the ‘Rising Chef Award’ that year for your work in Azurmendi restaurant, a michelin star restaurant in Spain. You were supposed to be the best, so when people found out you weren’t, they would have a fucking field day. 
Carmen Berzatto was quiet, but he was the person you clicked with the most. Clearly the mentally disturbed got along well, that's what you two said anyways. 
Luca was a fucking prick. He was the cockiest of cocky pieces of shit, he was acting like he owned the place, and better yet, he was fucking stunningly gorgeous. You turned to your new friend, Gilian as she swooned over the British accent, tattoos, and built arms. 
The day went by smoothly, hitting it off with other chefs in the group, but never really getting close enough to Luca to really see anything other than his cocky smirks and party-boy aura. You loved Ever already, and you were excelling. You got put with Gillian as your partner, and Carm was put with Luca, and though they both tried to switch, no one would take the other, so they were forced to deal with it.

Your first week…
Luca and Carmen were a match made in hell. They politely threw digs at each other right under Chef Andrea’s nose, and when they were caught, she was too fond of the both of them to actually punish them. You’d learnt that Carm had a great way of getting people to do the things he wanted them to, aka, screaming at the top of his lungs, and Luca was slower than Carm, which meant they were both equally as insufferable as each other. Like you said, match made in hell. 
You stayed late one night, trying to perfect a recipe you were supposed to send back to Azurmendi. It was beating your ass, every single time it just felt wrong. Like something was missing. 
You watched in horror as Luca walked into the kitchen, his apron on and a bowl of pastry dough in his hands. 
God, this was going to be a long night. 
“What are you making?” He asked, kneading the dough. 
“Just something for Azurmendi,” you mumbled, not exactly wanting this conversation to progress. Some of the girls had been complaining about his ‘asshole behaviour’ but what they really meant was that he was handsome and didn’t want to go out with them. 
“Can I see?’ he asked, and you nodded slowly, moving out of the way of the dish to let him try it. 
It was a deconstructed caramelised banana pudding with raspberry compote that was still missing something. He walked around the counter, his eyes on you the whole time as you absorbed yourself in the plate. It looked beautiful, but did it taste good? You’d tried a hundred and one things with it, strawberry compote, vanilla sauces, mango, everything. This was your last resort. 
He looked at the plater, moving it around to get different angles. It was a stunning presentation, he couldn’t lie. “What does it taste like?”
You shrugged. He chuckled. 
“What?” he chuckled. “Are you messing with me?”
You shook your head. “I don’t like bananas, or raspberries,” you shrugged. “You taste it and tell me.” 
He was in shock when you handed him a spoon. “You’re sure?” and you nodded.
He dug in, tasting the banana pudding, with the caramel, and the raspberry compote and… it was delicious. Probably the best thing he’d ever eaten, and from the prettiest girl he’d ever seen. See, you wouldn’t know this until years later but since the first day, he’d been looking at you. He’d wanted nothing more than to even be friends with you, he didn’t even know he;d one day become your boyfriend, then your fiancé, and soon, your husband. “That’s fucking brilliant.”
You smiled softly. “You sure?”
“Best thing I’ve ever eaten, hands down,” he nodded, taking another spoon. 
You chuckled. “You’re just saying that.”
“No, trust me, I’m not,” he said, shovelling another spoon into his mouth. “You mind if I finish this?” He asked, mouth full of the dessert. Usually stuff like that would make you gag, but Luca made it funny. You found yourself laughing. “Luca,” he smiled, holding out his hand for you to take once he’d finished his meal. 
“Y/n,” you smiled. 
“You’re really impressive, I’ve seen your stuff. I’d love to pick your brain about Azumendi, if you wouldn’t mind me geeking out about you for a few hours?” He smiled. He was pretty charismatic, and pretty well… pretty. 
“Sure,” you nodded. “When are you free?”
“Saturday night? I know this great restaurant nearby,” He smiled. 
“I’m free Saturday night,” you nodded. “Sounds like a plan.”
“Sounds like a date to me!” Chef Andrea called from behind you two as she walked in. You two jumped apart, despite being pretty far apart to begin with. 
“I-um-you didn’t- it doesn't have to be-” you stumbled over your words as Luca watched with a crooked smile on his face. 
“It's a date,” he cut you off. “Unless you don’t want it to be.” 
You nodded. “Then I think it’s a date,” you smiled. 
Luca was sure to thank Andrea the next day. 
---------------
Saturday night…
You got out of your chef white’s the second you got home and straight into getting ready for the date that was forty-five minutes away. You did your makeup, got dressed, then waited by the door for Luca. 
The doorbell rang and there he was, pink shirt, black slacks and that same Luca smile. He looked you up and down and smiled. “God you’re fucking gorgeous.”
You felt yourself heat up at his comment. “You don’t look too bad yourself.”
He smiled wider and off you went to Lorenzo’s, an Italian spot near Ever.

The night went off perfectly, he was sweet, funny, and he actually listened to you as you geeked out about food and restaurants and everything in between. Luca was great. 
When he dropped you back off at your apartment, you were laughing so hard you almost fell over, he caught you by the waist, pulling you into his as he chuckled. 
You didn’t realise how close he was until you noticed his breath on your cheek. Soon, the laughing was softened to sweet smiles, and he cupped your cheek and kissed you softly, much softer than you'd imagined. His lips were sweet, still tasting of the berry dessert you’d shared after your delicious meal. You pull back, a shocked smile on your face.
“I really like you,” he admitted, blushing. “And I really want to take you out again.”
You smiled. “I’d really like that.”
His face lit up. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” you nodded. He let go of you, watching as you unlocked your apartment door. 
“Bye,” he smiled. You couldn’t resist, you pressed your lips to his again as his hands circled your waist and yours went to mess up his hair. 
“Bye,” you called after you pulled away, turning to go inside. He looked so good like that, lips red, hair slightly tousled, shocked look on his face. It was nice. He was nice.

One month in… 
Luca watched you as you walked into the kitchen, talking with Chef Andrea as she asked about the dish you had made in Azurmendi. He thought you were gorgeous, his eyes were always drawn to you in every room. The past month had been full of dinner dates, getting lunch, and sometimes meeting up for breakfasts before work. He was falling in love with you, and he knew it. Everything about you made him want to know more, to spend more time with you, to be with you. Granted, he hadn’t asked you to be his girlfriend yet, but all that would change today. He’d decided that on your usual lunch break, he’d ask you to officially be his girlfriend. That was the right thing to do, right? 
“You good man?” Carmen asked, chewing much too loud in Luca’s opinion. 
“Fine,” he answered, finally out of his trance. 
Carmen stared at him for a moment. “You good?”
“Good Chef,” he nodded. 
“Cause it looks to me that you’re staring at Chef Y/n,” he observed. “And that means your head isn’t in the kitchen. Is your head not in the kitchen, Chef?”
“My head is as firmly in the kitchen as yours is up your ass Carm,” Luca retorted before leaving to grab his ingredients for the day. Carmen Berzatto was a dick, Luca had no idea what you saw in him as a friend.

You were cutting, the same as always. Then you felt the familiar nudge that CArm had been giving you in recent weeks, just a friendly tap on the back as he passed behind you. Then there was a knife in your hand. “Fuck!” More specifically, there was a huge gash in your hand. 
Everyone’s eyes shot up, all attention on you. No one moved as you grabbed your hand, blood gushing as your eyes welled up. You crouched down, holding your hand in pain. 
“Y/n-” Carm tried but Luca was quick to swoop in, kneeling beside you. 
“Are you alright? Come on, let’s go,” he held you as he led you out of the kitchen. He held you close, practically carrying you as he put you into his car, rushing you to A&E.

Some stitches, a lot of bandages, and a blood bag later (you’d lost a lot), you were discharged and exhausted. Chicago A&E wait times are no fucking joke. Luca drove you back to your apartment. 
“Anything I can do for you?” He asked, still worried about you. 
“Do you want to come up and we can get takeout? I need to thank you for taking care of me today,” you chuckled. He shook his head, a smile on his face.
“No need for thanking, I’m just glad that you’re ok,” he smiled. “But I will take you up on dinner, since we missed our lunch date today.”

You chuckled. “I’m glad.”

“That was so diplomatic!” you giggled. 
“Who says ‘oh’ after someone says they love them?” Luca laughed, pulling you into his arms as you laughed. 
Your fight had been long forgotten in a matter of seconds.

“Thinking about things?” Luca squeezed your hand, bringing you back to reality. He smirked at you. 
“Maybe?” You smiled, holding him closer. “You?”
“Of course I am,” he whispered. “You looked so gorgeous on the counter-”
“Shut the fuck up!” You groaned. 
Andrea suddenly appeared in front of  you two, a bright smile on her face. “My two chefs!”
“Andrea!” You smiled, pulling her in for a hug. Andrea had always been one of your biggest supporters (well, her and Luca), always calling when she heard something new about your restaurant, and even coming to visit when she was in London. 
“How are you two?” She asked. You smiled at Luca, who smiled back. 
“We’re engaged,” you beamed, showing off the beautiful ring Luca had given to you, just a week ago. 
“Oh my god!” she squealed. “What wonderful news!”
“What’s the wonderful news?” Carmen butted in, a smile on his face. 
“We’re engaged,” Luca answered. 
“Shit, congratulations!” He smiled, pulling you both in for a hug. 
“Well, that is going to be one amazing wedding,” Andrea added. “Who’s your caterer?” She joked.
You both laughed. It felt good. It felt good to be this loved.

They had been making their version of sticky toffee pudding since 1984, and their creation became popular. They made only 25 puddings per week at first. Now, they make a million per year and they are sold all over the world. They say that their pudding contains 100% natural ingredients with no preservatives. That’s probably one of the keys to their success.

It was a random Tuesday evening 3 weeks after the break up when he first heard from Tommy again - well 3 weeks, 4 days and 34 minutes to be exact; not like Buck had been counting.
He was in the middle of baking his latest batch of baked goods, a sticky toffee pudding recipe he found after a late night binge of The Great British Bake Off. His fingers were itching to call him, his heart aching to hear his voice again. So when his phone started vibrating and Tommy’s name illuminated Buck’s phone, he practically leapt across the kitchen to answer.
“I’m going to therapy.” Tommy blurted out when Buck answered. Buck was speechless; because after weeks of no contact, this is the first thing Tommy has to say to him?
“Shit, sorry, that is not how I wanted to start this. Hi.” Tommy backtracked slightly. His voice was soft yet slightly frantic. Like he had been practising what he was going to say but chickened out at the last minute. And, despite himself, Buck found himself smiling. He never thought he would miss the sound of someone’s voice so much.

Silverstone. Lando's home race. Y/N couldn't wait. Ever since she was a little girl, Silverstone had been one of her favourites. When they were kids, Y/N's father had taken her and Lando to Silverstone. It was the first race Y/N had ever attended, and the race that let Y/N fall in love with Formula One.
It had been a full month since Y/N had last spoken to the current world champion. Y/N didn't know why Max wasn't speaking to her. Or answering her text messages. He'd been missing out of Y/N's life completely for the last month.
For once, Y/N had nothing special planned for Silverstone. Just a simple Q and A video.
Y/N missed the Friday free practice. Where she'd usually be there to watch Lando and the rest of her friends (namely Charles), but, this time, she was at home with her family.
British families had some weird traditions and Y/N's family was no exception. Every Sunday in the winter months they ate a huge roast dinner and every Sunday in the summer was reserved for having a barbeque.
With a job like Y/N's, she didn't much get to see her family. She was always away at the grand prix or the city hosting them. Her family missed her, sure, but they knew she was living her dream. So, whenever she was home, Y/N made sure to visit them.
Y/N sat at the dining table, checking her phone. Nothing from Lando, nothing from Charles, nothing from Danny. Nothing from... Max.
That was the most upsetting thing. Y/N hadn't spoken to Max in so long. She didn't realise she'd miss him until he disappeared. There had been a couple of times where she'd text him, but he'd only read it, not respond. Y/N was getting desperate. Desperate to hear from him, but they weren't in a place where she could beg. Right?
"Dinner!" Y/N's mother shouted as she and her brother ran in the dishes. Chicken, potatoes, sprouts, carrots, parsnips and more. Y/N's mother always went above and beyond with roast dinner. It was a whole performance for her.
Y/N allowed her mother to plate up her food. It was something she loved doing whenever Y/N was home, her way to welcome her back. "Mum, do you think we can watch the free practice?" She asked as her mother placed a Yorkshire pudding onto her plate.
"What? No way!" Her brother suddenly shouted across the table. "If Y/N gets to watch formula one I get to watch football!"
"Neither of you are watching anything. Y/N is going to make the most of being here with us before she makes her way up to Silverstone, okay?"
Y/N's mother was not a scary woman, not by any means. But, when she commanded something, it happened. Y/N and her brother nodded as they tucked into their food.
Y/N checked her last messages to Lando and Max beneath the table. Lando hadn't yet seen her message, but Max hadn't responded. A small part of her wanted to throw her phone at the nearest wall, but she didn't. Instead, Y/N slipped her phone back into her pocket and tightened her hand in a fist, nails digging into her palm.
Her family could tell something was wrong. Normally it was non-stop chatter about the world of the paddock. But, aside from her request to watch the free practice, Y/N didn't talk about formula one at all. Even when her brother tried to ask, Y/N answered with single words.
That night, in her childhood bedroom, Y/N looked at the pictures of her and Lando. Them in school, them at Lydden Hill for Lando's Karting career. Silverstone when Lando was in F2, Lando when he first joined McLaren and that was it. The rest of the pictures were in Y/N's own apartment, a place she hardly saw the point in paying for when she rarely lived there.
Her phone began to ring. Picking it up, Y/N placed it to her ear. "Hey, Lan," she said to her best friend as soon as she answered.
"How's your mum? How's your brother? How's the cat?" He asked quickly.
The cat in question was currently sleeping on Y/N's bed. The moment she moved out, the cat began living in her room, sleeping on her bed or in the empty closet.
"Mum is good, brother is good, cat is good," she said, sitting beside the cat and stroking her fur. "How was free practice? I tried to watch on the television but Mum wouldn't let me."
Lando told her all about free practice and how his day at Silverstone had been. He told her about the media things she and Oscar had to do, the fun he and Carlos had been having and more.
When he fell silent, Y/N found herself asking a difficult question. "Lan, is Max okay?" She asked him. "Does he hate me or something?"
"No," Lando answered quickly. "Why would he hate you?"
"Can you tell him to answer my texts then please."
Lando didn't answer that. How could he, when he was the reason for Max's silence? But, he couldn't tell Y/N, either. He could tell her that he was the reason Max was refusing to speak to her. So, Lando took it in a different direction.
"What's going on with you and Max?" He asked. His tone was genuinely curious, leading Y/N away from his crime.
Y/N shook her head. "Lan, nothing. Nothing is going on with Max and I. He was just the only person who let me interview him in Monaco. He just happened to be the person who helped me out after the drunken quiz video. Why does that mean something has to be going on with us?"
Again, Lando didn't answer. Guilt ripped through him. He was selfish, a selfish little boy. He drove Max away from Y/N just because he didn't want to lose his best friend
Lando was quick to end the call. He said his goodbyes and left Y/N to it. Max liked Y/N, he knew that much. But did she like him? God, he felt like a child back in secondary school as he thought about it.

"Hey guys, welcome to the Silverstone weekend," Y/N said to the camera as she sat on her bed with her cat in her lap. "As you can see, we are not in a hotel room for once. We are actually in my childhood bedroom and we have a visitor." Y/N held the cat up to the camera and waved her paw.
"Today we're going to be going in with a Q and A video," she said, pulling up her phone. "I know a lot of you have a lot of questions around how and why I do what I do, and I'm going to answer them all."
She went into her twitter and pulled up her first question. "Right, question one. How did you meet Lando?" She read and put the phone down. "Oh, what a story this is," she said and let out a little laugh. "When Lando and I first met each other, we hated each other. We were eleven years old, both starting at secondary school. In maths we got sat beside each other, and it all kicked off from there.
"Lando was so loud! Seriously, he did not stop talking. And he spread his stuff to my side of the desk, which really pissed me me off. So, I told him to shut up and he told me to bleep off, and then we became best friends."
The cat in her lap was purring as Y/N stroked her. She grabbed her phone and checked for the next question. There had been a lot on there asked about the nature of her relationship with Charles and her relationship with Max. They were things she wouldn't get into, only because it would make the situation so much worse.
"Ah, what do you do when you're not travelling around?" She read and put the phone back down. "Well, I travel to the grand prix and then I explore the city the grand prix is held in with my friends. These bits I don't usually film, but I'm considering doing city vlogs. If you guys would like to see this, drop a comment."
Y/N went on and on, reading through the questions. There were many about hers and Lando's friendship, many that allowed her to grab pictures of little Lando from the wall.
"What is your favourite quote from anyone on the grid at the minute?" She read.
It made her grin. "Well, I've got one that I use all the time which is when Charles says 'Lando we can be world champions', but I'm a big fan of those noises Danny makes? You know, 'ki ki ki ra!'" She shouted.
There was a noise from downstairs, her mother shouting a complaint.
After getting through at least twenty of the questions, Y/N checked the time on her phone. "Oh my," she gasped when she saw how late it was. Or, rather, how early in the morning it was. "I guess that's the end of the video," she said to the camera. "Thank you guys for watching. Like, subscribe and I'll see you at Silverstone," she said and got up to switch off the camera.
