Janet Van Dyne (a.k.a Wasp) is inside the prison morgue, investigating the mysterious deaths of the prisoners - Whirlwind, Griffin, Piledriver, Anaconda, Icemaster and Quicksand. While Janet and the guardsman are too busy discussing with each other, they did not notice that Quicksand and the prisoners (except Whirlwind) are not dead, they had been playing possum. Quicksand wakes up to knock out the guardsman. The fight breaks out in the morgue until Whirlwind gets up but it's not really Whirlwind, someone else is possessing Whirlwind's body. Then, the fight between Janet (and now, Not-Whirlwind), and the prisoners continue in the morgue. Janet and Not-Whirlwind are seemingly outnumbered when more guards come into the room to subdue the prisoners. Before the guard could take him, the Not-Whirlwind claims that he doesn't know Janet and he calls himself Victor Shade.

ANNABELLE (2014)

💁‍♀️Strong Female Lead

A lackluster follow up to The Conjuring. The main character is a believably concerned mother going through the twists and turns of this tale but the father is a disingenuous flap of cardboard. The film is unremarkable, it has some good scares as well as some general creeps, but in many cases the doll was just funny. There was no reason for this story to be a stand alone film.

A 70's couple are pregnant during the Manson family cult scare. The neighbors are murdered and the wife is stabbed, they flee with the baby (and so many dolls) to a new abode for fleeting safety. The young mother, alone, deals with the presence growing in strength while the father is inexplicably working (and no that isn't a sexual euphemism for this piece of toast boy). The whole thing comes to a boiling point when a priest informs them that the demon wants a soul, the catch being it must be offered. The mother is ready to sacrifice herself for her child but a friend steps in at the last second and gives her soul to the doll. The demon's hunger is sated but the box office isn't, "more Annabelle!" The hoards of sheep bay as they are spoon fed Chucky wet dreams.
