ARG SPOILERS FOR II 18??? THE SURVIVORS
Tumblr media
using this crossword, we get everyone who's alive (and will play a role in ii 18) and I have SO many questions (ignore my bad handwriting)
one, TOILET ISN'T HERE??? Which mean that MEPHONE MIGHT HAVE MADE HIM. OH MY GOD
DUDE. Toilet is just Mephone's OC he made so he would have somewhere to vent out all his anger. Like he literally made a guy just to be annoyed at him for doing the ONE THING he was supposed to do. Mephone what is your problem?? HELLO??? Toilet wanted to just fill the role he was LITERALLY made for, and then he got replaced by some random tablet like I'D BE MAD AS HELL TOO
Tumblr media
Though that does make me kinda confused why he would accuse Toilet of being affiliated with Cobs if HE made him? Unless he just forgot he made Toilet?? I have no clue what's going on there. It COULD be a bait and switch; they make us think Toilet's dead, but he comes back and proves he truly is the GREATEST assistant.
Shimmers, Cobs, and Mephone being alive all make sense, not really much to say there. I assume that line that Cobs have about Mephone "proving himself" relates to the Shimmers in some way (possibly sneaking onto their ship to take the Baby Egg Fan and TT were raising??). I mean, the Eggs are still hanging up their in the ship, they're probably going to be fairly important.
I don't really have much to say about robot versions of Brian and gang (sorry buddies, I'm sure you'll be VERY vital. I just don't know how) BUT MEPAD AND THE GHOSTS- With Purgatory Mansion gone, I'm assuming Dough and Bow will immediately have to possess something, otherwise they'll probably just dissipate. MAYBE they could possess the phone and Baxter? The three of them definitely had something cooking, probably relating to Bow's Tail story (PLEASE I WANNA HEAR IT SO BAD!!)
Bow being alive could lure the Shimmers closer to their little trio... but also alert Cobs and Mephone to their location as well.
Tumblr media
BOT IS ALIVE! THEY LIVE!! AND they're probably really sad since they just watched all their friends disappear in the blink of an eye. But THEY LIVE YAY!!! Really excited for the Bow Bot meet up. I'm guessing the finale will just be the Ghosts, Mepad, and Bot (and Baxter! Can't forget him.) trying to save or stop Mephone from hurting the Shimmers while also not getting caught by Cobs.
Maybe the Shimmers help them recover those who they lost in exchange for saving their baby again?? I'm not too sure yet, I'll have to see the trailer! And I have NO clue how the robot versions of J.U.S.T.I.N and them will play into all this. I'm really excited so I will be impatiently waiting patiently.

II 17 SPOILERS UNDER CUT
So I have a LOT of thoughts on this episode but there’s one that has been weighing on my soul since watching it.
Mephone is stuck with Cobs. For good.
After telling everyone the truth. They all hated him. Even MePad told everyone to get behind him because he thought mephone just wants to hurt the contestants for amusement.
While what mephone did to them was unfair, mephone admits to not seeing the problem because that’s how HE felt. He never knew how that would affect a person. He’s known NOTHING ELSE
He felt broken. And all of them were broken as a result. It’s like when I kid grows up in an abusive environment, they assume everyone has the same experience.
Kids make up silly gags with basic stereotypes because they don’t think how that could affect someone. Mephone was still mentally a child/had childlike innocence when he first thought of the contestants.
This could also be taken in a meta stand point with Adam, Justin, and Brian making the characters stereotypes for jokes and not seeing how that directly effects the character. They’re characters so why do the childish authors care?
Back to my point, now that everyone knows, why would they help him? They have been helping him every season! 1 4s sacrificed himself for him, marshmallow killed bow to help mephone! S3 balloon, cabby and silver campaigned for his life! And he had to be saved from being thrown into a volcano!
Now that they know their lives weren’t theirs in the beginning, why should they help the person they’ve been saving, but made them broken? (I’m not saying they never had their own lives it’s just they don’t feel like they had any control over their lives. This is a whole post in of its self)
So even if the contestants came back as ghosts, none of them would help him.
Neither would MePad.
After everything MePad has done for Mephone, MePad doesn’t have any good feelings towards him anymore. MePad borderline hates mephone.
So … mephone is.. completely alone. Not a single soul will help him.
The only people would would WILLINGLY help him is toilet or bot but either probably won’t work
We still don’t know if toilet is real or not. We didn’t see him at the end so we could assume he disappeared with everything else. And Bot is in S3. They could come back because everyone there might be disappearing too and needs help but once they find out mephone made the contestants and that test tube and fan died.. it’s really a 50/50. I don’t know they will be coming back to help him.
Another possibility is the shimmers but mephone is still a Meeple product so even if he knew he was a shimmer (which I don’t think mephone even knows he’s a dead shimmer) they wouldn’t trust him enough to help him.
So. Mephone has no choice but to take the one hand that is given to him. He has nothing else.
There’s no where to go, no one to call, nothing. Just him, his abuser, and the cycle of abuse.
Everyone might live, and get a semi happy ending with them being free in the afterlife but mephone.
There’s no happy endings without him, but none for him.
It’s time for him to go home. Start over from the beginning.

II S2 Ep 17 Spoilers
I'll be talking about what I got right from my previous theory post and some newer ones too.
Theory 1: The contestants aren't gone forever
This didn't happen. However I do think it will. I am one of the people who think there will be an act 3. Mostly because there are a lot of loose ends and plot points that they brought up (even just in this episode).
I am now more sure then ever that this is how their going to bring the contestants back. Or at least it will be an important part.
Tumblr media
The fact that they continue to focus on soaps phone kinda proves that to me. Why bring so much attention to something meaningless.
Theory 2 (well not really a theory, more of a question): What about bow and dough?
Bow and dough are indeed created by Mephone. Which also means that Mephone can create soul-like-substitutes. Which is wild.
Theory 3: Mephone didn't know he created the contestants.
I was right with this one! Yippee! Kinda. While he didn't remember creating them, he did assign them personalities and quirks. What Cobs really did here was make Mephone put 2 and 2 together.
What I believe happened was after Mephone escaped he was like "Time to start a reality show! Wait... I need people for that" and his subconscious was like "haha, wait a minute, we already did that" and spawned in the contestants. Seeing as he had an interview with suitcase, a season 2 contestant, we can assume that the rest of season 2 and 3 contestants were all subconsciously spawned in, then held an interview with Mephone.
Tumblr media
The picture below is just to highlight that even the season 3 contestants where characterized by Mephone.
Tumblr media
Also I haven't seen enough people talk about how genuinely awful and disgusting what Cobs did here. It actually makes me kinda ill.
Theory 3: Mephone is part Prime Shimmer
I was also right with this one! I am on a roll! Mephone being a Shimmer just makes sense narrative wise.
Now, onto the theories/observations I have after this episode.
I don't think Mephone knew he could freeze everyone. Besides the fact that he didn't know he created them an therefore wouldn't think that was something that he was capable of, just look at him.
Tumblr media
He has no idea what's happening around him. He's far more focused on the season 3 folder then his surroundings.
I also don't think Mephone created the island. He may have terraformed it but I don't believe he can straight up created an entire island.
And like I said earlier, I really don't think that this is the end.
Reason 1: the loose ends/plot points
It feels weird to me if they brought up important information just for it not to be used. Like Bow's tail story/coming back from the dead, Soap's phone, and the Prime Shimmers. Not to mention all the people who would still be there, like Mepad, Bow, Dough, Bot, Baxter, and the Prime Shimmers (and maybe toilet too? But that is a huge maybe in my books). Or even The Unvitational Committee. What do they feel about everything that's happened. What are they gonna do now everyone's gone.
Reason 2: common act structures.
While this is admittedly one of the weaker points, as they're allowed to do whatever they want, I think it's important to bring up. "Act" is a very specific word choice, and most stories follow a three act structure.
Reason 3: The themes.
II has a really prominent theme through the entire show, you don't have to be what others think of you. It can be seen within most character arcs. This episode is kinda the antithesis to that theme. Even the title "Through No Choice of Your Own" highlights that.
Reason 5: Brian said that there will be 2 special guest voice actors and we haven't gotten that yet.
Tumblr media
Reason 6: He also specifically said "multi-part." People don't tend to say multi-part for 2 episodes, optioning to say two-parter instead.
Tumblr media
Reason 7: Adam deleted his account shortly after he made(?) it. He also died from Mephone X. However this could just be nothing more then a fun way to leave and I'm looking to far into things. I thought it was important to bring up anyway.
Tumblr media
Reason 8: General vibes.
While II has had lots of sad moments before, they usually have some kind of happy/bittersweet/hopeful ending. This is just depressing, with little to no upside.
Look man. I'm gonna be honest. This is mostly me sipping copium. I genuinely can't fathom there being no act 3. Like, that's not even an option. This ending is so genuinely horrible (emotionally) it's unreal. I might make another post just about how awful this all is for Mephone specifically. Like, it's the worst possible outcome from him. Anyways, post is ending here. I had some more ideas but I forgot them.

So... episode 16 huh?
Okay guys, what the FUCK WASTHATTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!1! that was. wow. oh my god. wow. okay I need to sit down. I'll be doing the bullet point breakdown again cause my thoughts are everywhere:
THE ANIMATION IS PHENOMENAL??? The art in general is AWESOME ii2 always had really fluid and cinematic animation imo but GOD this is such eye candy
Seeing the III contestants ISFUCKING SCARY I DIDN'T THINK WE'D GET TO SEE THEM AT ALL??? I THOUGHT THEY WERE GONNA BE MENTIONED??? They look soo weird in the old art style but this is cool I like it
okay I did NOT expect Taco to be doing her apology thing so early BUT OH MY GOD????// THE ENCOUNTER IS EVERYTHING I FEARED BUT IT WAS SO GOOD EVEN WITH THE SHORT TIME SPAN OHGUEAHGH......PICKLE........SORRY BUT I WAS CHEERING FOR HIM HE KIND OF ATE THAT UP........... AND THE PART WHERE HE FUCKING DIED AND TACO WAS CRYIGN?!?@!@KASJKADSDJWHATTHE FUCK WAS THAT. WHAT TWAS THAT BRIAN. BRAIN. WHAT. I thought they were having a fight or something but NOOOIT WAS WAY WAYWAY WORSE. HELLO???? HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FEEL ABOUT THIS . Actually! I'm not feeling okay. I don't like this.
II SUDDENLY TURNED INTO A MUSICAL WHATT!!! Steve Cobs song certainly was not on my bingo card but here we are. hate that guy but man he got a good voice
I'm digging the payjay angst but I didn't think that was a segue TO KILL OJ?????WHY WAS THAT SCENE SO GOOD. I'M FOAMING AT THE MOUTH IT WAS HORRIFYING!!! THE ENTIRE SEQUENCE OF MEPHONEX APPROACHING THE CONTESTANTS WASSOASHDGHWAHWASHJD But real talk, does this imply that Toilet was created by Mephone in some ways???
Hi guys I'm actually not okay with us seeing characters that are in pairs be separated. Mm yeah. OJ, Soap, Nickle. Yeah. I'm not okay that they spent the episode showing these characters hanging with their friends only for them to die. Yeah.I'm not okay seeing their friends being in complete shock of what just happened. Yeah. Mh yeah.........
THE HAUNTED MANSION GUYS ARE BACK YAYYY!!!!! and they were roomates <3 (dough i hope you die the second time)
Knife and Suitcase interactions are so well written I can't get over them. Also the way both of them handle 3GS isSOOEUAHGH I lovee 3GS
Knife and Trophy. Need I say more
Suitcase, Nickel and Balloon. Need I say more
Steven Cobs is horrible I hate him but he was also the most entertaining character in this. Him putting Mephone on speaker phone isEVIL I HATE HIM!!!!!! also never realised that he was so egotistical to name his products with "Me" in them that's such Steve Cobs things
THE PLOTTWIST IS SO. DEVASTING. IVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT IT FOR HOURS NOW. SO YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT MEPHONE WAS JUST ROLEPLAYING WITH HIS OCS????? SERIOUSLY???? This just makes so much sense but it's also so horrible. like how many of the stuff tthat contestants did was intentional??? Is this why Bot was one of Mephone's favorite contestants? because they were "real"???
Also quick thing but I just hopped off from Brian's stream just now and he said something along the line of how BP is the opposite of Steve Cobs. Which just makes me wonder if like. did Mephone ALSO make BP??? Did he make someone he could look up to as a healthy father figure??? This is making me insane
yeah my brain is absolutely jumbled right now. if anyone still want to yap on about ii16 hit my dm please I still don't know how to feel about this act. LIKE YEAH It's awesome I love it but wow......is the emotional damage really worth it....

OK dudes, I think it's time to be rational here
This is not a finale. It's just can't be
And not because I dislike it, but because logically and storywise this finale just doesn't make sense
It doesn't make sense for the contestants to just kill themselfs, there was no reason for them to do so without any outcome out of it
It didn't make sense to even have hotel survivors (aka Paper, Taco, Mic and Box), because they didn't affect the story anyhow. It could be just MePad and nothing would change IF IT WAS ACTUALLY A FINALE
It doesn't make sense to conclude MePhone story like this when his story was about him finally reflecting on his past trauma and facing his abuser
It doesn't make sense to leave any other question like "Where's Bot?" and "What will The Shimmers do now?" unanswered
Yes, I now ONE's ending exist, but there's two important things to remember
1. Even though ONE's ending is open, it still concluded its story. If TNCOTO is a finale, it concludes NOTHING
2. ONE and II are still extremely different stories with different themes and narratives, and therefore they are just incomparable
Adam, Brian and Justin are storytellers. They've been writing II for more then a decade. And I just can't believe, that they will throw it away like this
And. Again. BOW AND MARSHMALLOW HAVE A PLAN
BOW AND MARSHMALLOW HAVE A PLAN
BOW AND MARSHMALLOW HAVE A PLAN!!!

Hey so I know a lot of shows have the running theme of having a funny first season and then a heartbreaking second season. I’ve seen it done a lot of times with the owl house, gravity falls, DuckTales, etc etc.
What I wasn’t expecting though was the most heartbreaking and soul crushing one to be from an object show.
Ngl this one hit harder than ONE frfr. At least with that show there was a happy ending for some of the characters. But no for II there was no happy ending. Not for MePhone, not for Bot, not for Cobs, not for the Eggs, and certainly not for the viewers.
I’m now going to fill the void in my chest by rewatching seasons 1 and 3
Thank you Brian Koch for writing one of the most devastating endings I’ve ever seen 🫡

I hope you guys like it we worked really hard on it and we're continuing to work on more stuff with this au !!
More info (+art!) under the cut :] SUPER LONG THREAD BTW !!
Tumblr media

Tumblr media
2. Microphone (The Loudmouthed Jerk), and Knife (The Jab To The Ears)
Tumblr media
3. Suitcase (The Forgivable), and Balloon (The Pushover)
Tumblr media
4. Bow (The Wannabe), and Pepper (The Sweet yet Bitter One)
Tumblr media
5. Paintbrush (The Creative Mindset), and Lightbulb (The Sparkling Firework)
Tumblr media
6. Salt (The Desperate Memory), and Marshmallow (The Forgettable Sweetheart)
Tumblr media
7. Dough (The Explosive Puzzle Piece), and Bomb (The Unusual Stoic)
Tumblr media
8. Paper (The Calm Idiot), and Pickle (The Insanitys' Candidate)
Tumblr media
9. OJ (The Long Gone Rogue), and Taco (The Easy-Going Victor)
Tumblr media
10. Tissues (The Teary Eyed), and Cheesy (The Walking Stench)
Tumblr media
11. Yin-Yang (The Balanced), and Cherries (The Rivals)
Tumblr media
12. Trophy (The shining freak), and Soap (The jealous jock)
Tumblr media
13. Cabby (The Studier), and Apple (The Ditzy Genius) ok so the only thing we Really changed here are their personalities because Cabby's OWN BODY is important to her story, and also tbh we couldn't think of who to swap Apple with. So she'll be friends with S&P in this au!
Tumblr media
14. Test Tube (The Rambling Fan), and Fan (The Mad Scientist)
Tumblr media
15. Goo (The Angsty Puddle), and Blueberry (The Optimist)
Tumblr media
16. Tea Kettle (The Selfless Helper), and Lifering (The Proud Papa)
Tumblr media
17. The Floor/Guinea (The Unknown Luck), and Clover (The Tiny Sneaker) In this au, Clover is like a regular plant stuck to the ground, and as for Floory, we had to give him a body and since his VA is from Australia, we thought he would be a Spreading Guinea Flower, or Guinea!
Tumblr media
18. Candle (The Posh), and Silver Spoon (The Enlightened)
Tumblr media
19. Ghost Salt (The Dead Memory), and (Salt) Bot (The Unwilling Shadow) !! Bot's form is inspired by Canon Salt because we all know that Bowbot was created out of Fan and Testube's idealized version of the real Bow. So we thought Idealized Salt was based off of canon hehe
Tumblr media
20. MePhone4 (The Envious Terminator), and MePhone4s (The Short Tempered Host)
Tumblr media
21. Alex Inksky (The Man of No Regret), and Corn Cob (The Bearer of Bad News)
Tumblr media
22. Siri/Stylus (The Upgraded), and Trash (The Fool) So we know 4S Had Siri in canon ii right? OK SO before 4S ran away, he sees this robot stylus body. We couldn't swap "mepad" and "toilet" with each other because we thought it'd be too difficult.
Tumblr media
23. B.R.I.A.N. (The Writer) Since 4S is voiced by Brian, we thought that He would be the "Adam" of this Universe hehe
Tumblr media
24. Box (The Pastry Box) LAST BUT NOT LEAST!! BOX!! Weeee couldnt change him either so his box type just changed
Thank you for reaching the end of the thread!! have a bonus doodle i made of swap!suitcase in s1ep1 :]

I'm making this post WAYYYY later than I thought I would but I am still NOT OVER part one of the ii finale, and I just wanted to gush about why I think it worked so well (long post + spoilers ahead, everything here is just my own personal opinion!)
And to start talking about the episode, I'm not going to talk about the episode at all, but rather THE BUILDUP
as has been said many times by Justin and Brian, Mephone4 creating the contestants has been something they've planned for awhile (since 2015 if my memory is correct), so they have had plenty of times to sprinkle in little details building to this reveal. But what I find fascinating is how well they hid the clues to the reveal because they all were hidden in plain sight
Fan glitching and saying he doesn't know who he is outside the show
Cabby struggling to remember her parents
Anytime a character is asked (in FFF or an exit interview) about their past they reply with "for as long as I can remember"
Characters describing how the show can feel like it's taking over their lives
Looking back over everything I almost feel stupid for not catching onto it before, but the clues were made by design to go over viewer's heads. Because in almost every case, there was a second, "more reasonable" conclusion the audience could take away from these moments.
For Fan his whole arc had been about his unhealthy attachment with the game, it made sense that he would struggle with his identity outside of it (we just didn't know how LITTERAL that struggle was). And him glitching was in response to being beamed up by the Prime Shimmer, at the time it was safe to assume it was probably something to do with the alien tech and not Fan himself. For Cabby's scene, god I love this scene, everyone (including the characters themselves!) assumed that it was just Cabby's memory that was at fault because that's what her arc was centered around. Every clue was so well hidden because they used our own assumptions against us
And now I want to talk about season 3 a little more because in my opinion, the twist would NOT have hit as hard without it
I know there were a lot of real world reasons why the crew made a season 3, but it serves as the perfect primer for the season 2 twist. First and foremost the Cabby scene again; since the objects' world is so different from our own and there is no universal "lore" on how such a world operates, Cabby's scene with Bot is soooo important for one specific reason; it plants the idea in the viewer's heads that, in this world, objects are supposed to have parents. Cob's specifically has a line taunting Knife and Suitcase about this (What did your parents say when they heard the good news?) that would not have hit as hard without this scene subtly directing the audience to expect them to have parents
Then there is Walkie's whole monologue at the end of iii's finale;
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'm gonna be real, when this finale came out I really did not understand this monologue at all. I didn't understand WALKIE at all. She suggests she wasn't made by Meeple, which didn't feel like a lie, but I just couldn't figure out what her deal was.....then the season was just over!
I was confused and a little irritated when they didn't elaborate on who exactly she was and where the hell she came from, and I think the crew wanted the audience to feel that way. They wanted us to keep the questions of "who" and "why" in our heads so that season 2's reveal would make it all click into place
iii's confusion doesn't stop there either, since after it ended probably the biggest question everyone had was how does it fit in the timeline? Because the crew always said it was canon, and the characters kept making references to how season two was "still going on", so when episode 15 aired I was really curious on how it would all fit.....
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
....what?
That was my reaction at least. There was no way season three happened in only half a day....right? And then I thought, "oh, ok, silly object show rules. They didn't want season 3 to intrude on season 2 so they're going to brush this off, just don't think to hard about it". Obviously, this wasn't the case, but we wouldn't know that until the finale. And again, I think the crew wanted this confusion. By leaving the audience with questions, you're helping to build tension towards that finale payoff (and to be clear, at the time of writing this we still don't know 100% HOW this timeline works, but no doubt Mephone's powers had something to do with it)
With all of these questions, and Brain running polls on twitter on how many characters we thought might die (thanks brian), finally it was time for part one of the season 2 finale...
and then the twist dropped like a bombshell; mephone made the contestants
the very foundation of my understanding of the show changed after that. Everything I had been prepared for was thrown entirely out the window, which I don't think was an accident. With how the crew teased about this episode, it felt like they were preparing us for everything except the twist, ensuring it could fully blindside the most amount of people possible
I want to talk about how brilliantly they presented the twist as well because honestly, building up to it is half the battle. With how important this moment is and how much of our understanding of the show it changes, it needed a ton tension and weight behind it, which the crew pulled off flawlessly. I still get goose-bumps watching that final scene
Kicking it off, Mephone finally answers the call from Cobs. As someone who is particularly invested in Mephone this was huge, it's the biggest thing we know he's been dreading and shows some significant growth from him as well (I don't think pre-iii finale Mephone would ever face his fears like this). Then Knife and Suitcase confront Cobs, Suitcase setting the mood by saying "It feels too easy, doesn't it?" and it does. We, as an audience, know that this is only part one. There is no way Cobs is about the be defeated....not to mention that he has some sort of grand plan we don't know about, so the audience is now on the edge of their seats wondering what is about to go wrong
As the pair confront him they have this exchange;
"Bored? You expect us to believe that??"
"I don't know, it is the truth though"
Since Cob's is known to be an unreliable narrator, to me this feels like Brian subtly signaling to the audience that whatever Cobs is going to say next IS going to be the truth, whether we like it or not
Cobs then nonchalantly confirms he's the one deleting the contestants, putting the audience on edge. I mean, who calmly admits to murder like that?? Then, he begins probing about the bizarre nature of the show. Alllll of the little things that might have bugged us, or things we brushed off because "its an object show" Cobs highlights. He builds the audience's tension by pointing out the same questions a lot of them have been asking themselves since the beginning. And then, he starts building the tension with the contestants;
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I really love this beat, how he takes a moment to think of just the right question to ask without giving it all away. It shows how much he's enjoying fucking with the contestants, really living up to being the final big-bad of the show)
The way he begins to lead us to the answer is so sick and twisted. Asking Knife and Suitcase seemingly innocent questions, going on about creative vision, answering Mephone's call and realizing with delight how even HE doesn't seem know the answer. Winding the audience up and up and up before;
"How'd you get an interview with him anyway?"
"What'd your parents say when you told them the news?"
"You'd think you'd remember something like that, oh wait, no you wouldn't."
"He made you."
...
To this day, Inanimate Insanity is the only show to leave me literally speechless after an episode. I think everything about part one was handled phenomenally, hats off to the entire crew
Finally, I wanted to talk about where this twist leaves the show. Let's be real, putting a "nothing was real" type twist into your story is risky. If not done properly it can leave the audience feeling like the story was pointless or is no longer engaging to revisit. I can confidently say ii's twist has avoided this pitfall
Not only has this twist been properly built up too, incredibly I think it makes the characters more interesting in hindsight. Many of them follow an arc about becoming more than who they are assumed to be at the start. With this twist, those arcs are suddenly much more meaningful because instead of overcoming a personal flaw, they are overcoming what they were literally created to be. It changes the status quo in a way that will alter your perception of earlier episodes, but in a way that makes you re-engaged with the show and excited to revisit it
All in all, I love this episode and I love the twist, and I'm really excited to see how it continues to shape the characters and world in part 2 :)

ii talky moments,,, Today's ep my first watch I feel like nothing happened? But I always watch the eps twice cause I usually have way more to say after a second watch. But imo the way they handled cabby's file stuff in today's ep just seemed like they were like "Look we took into consideration everything you said abt the files! See! We have all the talking points!" and yet people are still like BOOO WE HATE IT like this is LITERALLY all the points you brought up in the ep before, it reads like someone writing out the points everyone threw a fit over and then writing it into the ep like "See,,, her files are good,,,, ok,,,,,,,," Like 100% the reason why I've been moving towards ii twitter is because at least people tag their ii neg without sending you anon hate :/
YEAH PEOPLE WILL JUST HATE IT NO MATTER WHAT LMAO like personally as somebody w/ pretty bad memory problems i understand what people were talking about with cabby's files but also there was NOTHING that implied that cabby was in the wrong for using them or that the other characters were objectively right so?? like it was clearly building to a plot point of understanding between bot/test tube/cabby but people wouldn't even give it a chance bcuz they have the worst possible faith reading of every aspect of this show. it's good that brian was listening and worried abt not sending bad messages or upsetting people and i do think it was always the intention that cabby's files weren't BAD but he maybe rewrote it to be directly stated more than it would have between otherwise
AND THEN PEOPLE HATED IT ANYWAY
this episode was fun idk i dont have very strong analysis of most inanimate insanity season 3 episodes bcuz they're pretty low stakes?? like it was fine i was happy to see goo and clover again :) happy that silver spoon and candle continued to be toxic yuri but i agree it didn't really move anybody's stories forward very much (except maybe blueberry lmao)

Did anything in particular happen or have you always disliked Fan? I'm out the loop with ii so I don't know recent information or anything
Might be misinfo but i think fantube is canon now?? Or will be??? (Again might be misinfo but i heard someone say brian confirmed this during the recent bfbxii event)
my hatred for fan is purely theatrical BUTTT i do think he would make a shitty dad and personally not a big fan of the idea of fantube being canon (i’m not a fan of any ship being canon)
What set of my recent posts was watching the new episode and hearing ppl say tt and fan are the greatest parents ever, while paintbrush IS RIGHT THERE (i swear pb is more of a parent to bot than fan has ever been, ik it’s because fan isn’t even on the show anymore but honestly i don’t think you could convince me he would be a good parent if he was there)
Ngl also a little out of the loop, i’ve been mainly ignoring whatever ae has been saying and only get the occasional ii posts on my dashboard (i’m very aware of the criticism ii has been getting tho, i’m glad people are talking about that more because when i was hyperfixating on ii i felt like i couldn’t talk about stuff like this at all without getting spellcasted into the void)

KDNFB Reads # 4/12... and also #5/12
Life got away from me, and it’s not looking like there will be any significant changes any time soon. So I’ll poke my head in every few weeks or so, to answer asks and messages, etc. and well, these posts don’t take much effort, just recording what I’ve already done, so I’ll try to keep up with them. But yeah... fandom time is at a premium here. Here’s what I’ve read since April 18th until today, May 31st, 2021. Hence why I’m calling this post 4 & 5. As before, anything marked with an * is something I’ve read before and chose to reread either just because I wanted to, or because it’s part of a series and a new volume was recently released. 😘

Which Work Am I A Bigger Fan Of?  I Cannot Choose!
I have two works that I really like, and they are Transformers and Sonic The Hedgehog.  Both enhanced my creativity, and I grew up with Transformers (the live-action films, anyway; but I got into G1 when I got into the 1980′s); they have extraterrestrials that are allies or enemies with humans (and they have anti-heroes as well (I’m looking at you, Armada Starscream and Shadow The Hedgehog)); and they have English and Japanese versions of their own media (the original Unicron Trilogy and Sonic X are all anime series in which the Japanese versions with English subtitles are better than the English dubs).  I have been fans of both works for a couple years (I saw Transformers first, and then Sonic The Hedgehog).
However, I am debating whether I like one more than the other; I believe I am, but I am going to differentiate between these two works to see for myself.  Here it goes; I am going to start with Transformers, first.
The first Transformers work I saw was the first live-action film directed by Michael Bay.  It looked very realistic, and the graphics were nice.  I saw two more live-action films, and they were okay, but the third film went downhill, especially since they killed off some of my favorite characters from there (especially Ironhide; I really liked that black truck, and Sentinel killed him).  I don’t remember when I saw the 1986 film, but it is one of these factors that got me into the 1980′s (among The Transformers, in which that animated film was based on).  I started to prefer G1 over Bayformers since their styles looked fantastic, and it is also how I got a little into Mecha anime (Golion/Dairugger/Voltron got me even more into Japanese anime).
I then looked to see if there are any other Mecha shows I would watch, and I remembered fans talking about Transformers Armada, and I searched via Anime News Network; when I saw that Ironhide was in there, as well as Starscream, I got the urge to watch it.  I saw all 52 episodes of the show (called Micron Legend) with English subtitles, and I was hooked into it.  Micron Legend became even more of my favorite Transformers work than even G1 because of many G1 callbacks, certain soundtracks that sounded 1980′s, and many complex characters from both sides.  I then saw another show, in which it is called Energon (actually, it was Superlink), and I got as much hooked as I did with the other show, despite some flaws such as not giving certain characters enough screen time.  I was upset when the characters from Micron Legend got killed off (especially Ironhide/Demolishor), but was amazed at some new characters, especially those that were based off of their G1 counterparts, such as Inferno, Lazerwave (homage to G1 Shockwave), Wheeljack, Springer, and Omega Supreme.  I saw Galaxy Force (original version of Cybertron) once, and lost interest, despite some interesting characters such as Soundwave and Chromia (Thunderblast).  Similarly, Headmasters made me lose interest, since some of the characters were really bland, and they were lacking some character development in some of the Transformers (and even humans).
Since the first Bayformers film was the one I liked a lot, I didn’t want to watch anymore live-action films until 2018, in which the Bumblebee film debuted.  I was skeptical at first, until I got the chance to saw it; it was fantastic; the film was set in 1987, and it had many themes and styles of the 1980′s, and it stayed true to the G1 continuity (besides Micron Legend, Superlink, and Galaxy Force).  And the villains were phenomenal, especially Shatter (ROTF Alice didn’t give me enough excitement for a believably evil Decepticon who is female (or at least feminine), she was too bland, in my opinion).  And don’t forget the music, especially when Stan Bush’s song appeared in one scene where Bumblebee was encouraging his human friend, Charlie Watson, to dive off a cliff (which is safe, and has water).
Now let’s go with Sonic The Hedgehog.  I have noticed some people playing the games, and I never got the hold of it until I noticed that there was an anime show based on the games (especially the Adventure series), and I decided to give it a watch.  The anime was Sonic X, and it was in Japanese with English subtitles.  I was blown away because of Sonic’s tendency to break the fourth wall and throw in English here and there, the graphics which looked similar to Micron Legend in many angles, one original character with his many racing supercars (Sam Speed), contains Mecha (usually by Dr. Eggman), the soundtrack, and, of course, Shadow The Hedgehog (the first time I understood that character was in this show).  Also, the anime had many callbacks from the previous games (1991-2003; 2003 was when Sonic X was first broadcasted); and the Metarex saga gave me a feel from the part where Unicron debuted in Micron Legend.
One of my cousins have many different Sonic games, since he is a huge fan of them.  He had spin-off games as well; one of them was Shadow’s own game.  The first time I took interest was when I heard some fans talk about him using guns; at first, I thought it was a joke, until I saw for myself.  Many die-hard Sonic fans don’t like the 2005 game, but I certainly liked it, especially after I saw Sonic X; it was dark and edgy, yes, but it also gave the main character more depth and characterization, he can use firearms if he chooses to, and drives vehicles such as motorcycles and cars; I even have the option to play it in English or Japanese (of course with English subtitles for both).
I also did some reviews for three Sonic TV shows during the 1990′s.  Adventures Of Sonic The Hedgehog came to mind, especially this one episode, Zoobotnik, in which it featured a villainess, Katella The Huntress, who is the most underrated Sonic character of all time.  I found her costume appealing (including the circlet she wears on her forehead), and I found it amusing to see her with Dr. Robotnik/Eggman (I believe this is the only time I will ship Eggman with anyone else; besides Sera/Sara from the OVA, of course).  The English shows were not as appealing, but at least I got some insight after watching a few episodes.
I think I like both works because they are related in many ways, even though the Transformers originated in the 1980′s, and Sonic The Hedgehog originated in the 1990′s, among many other differences.  I really like extraterrestrial characters, but I also like Mecha robots (especially sentient robots).  Maybe I like Transformers even more than Sonic The Hedgehog.
Another thing these two have in common is their voice actors, who appeared in both works; seiyuu are more prominent.  Here is a list of English voice actors first, and then I will go with the Japanese voices:

Like I said, Sonic and Transformers have a lot in common, but they are unique in their own ways.  Maybe I like Transformers the most because it was from the 1980′s (which, by the way, is my favorite decade).  I wasn’t too much of a 1990′s fan, but I did like Sonic, which originated in the 1990′s.  So, I suppose Transformers is the winner, and Sonic The Hedgehog is in second place.
Well, that is all I will be saying for now.  I will be posting more soon, but I have other things to do, as well.  Stay tuned for more posts.
This is FirebirdTransAm68 signing out.
