i was coordinating with ~10 friends to get tickets (we're all going together) and we somehow ended up with an extra one so we were going to sell it (for the exact price we paid for it, it's illegal to sell them for profit in brazil) and we couldn't really figure out who to sell it to since we all knew someone who wanted them

i never realized how international it was, y'know. specially bc here it's got umbanda and candomblé syncretism for Xangô.

the page peaked my interest because of the song Ederlezi, that's about st. george day and it's typically sung by the romani who celebrate as well. the song also commemorates the arrival of spring, which is funny bc in the south hemisphere the 23rd of april is still autumn lol

with all christian imperialism aside (if it's even possible), worldwide cultural links like this is heartwarming delightful to me.
