it  was  only  at  the  very  end  of  his  little  impassioned  rant  did  loki  realise  that,  the  whole  time,  peter  had  been  somewhere  else  entirely,  and  hadn’t  been  listening  at  all.  almost  instantly,  all  that  grandeur,  that  excitable,  flamboyant  energy  in  which  he’d  explained  everything  completely  dropped.  instead,  he  now  fixed  the  mortal  with  a  blank  stare,  lips  pressed  into  a  thin  line. 

          ❝  why  ask  a  question  if  you  don’t  care  for  the  answer?  ❞  the  trickster  grumbled  in  response,  crossing  his  arms  over  his  chest.

         ❝  no.  ❞  he  sighed  eventually, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration —  he  couldn’t  fly.  that  was  the  short  answer.  of  course,  there  was  more  nuance  to  it  than  that.  with  the  aid  of  certain  magical  items,  he  could  if  he  were  so  inclined.  but  loki  absolutely  wasn’t  going  to  waste  anymore  breath  on  the  idiot  who  won’t  listen  to  him.
