Oh my god. There's a mayoral debate going on in São Paulo and one candidate (Datena) hit the other (Marçal) with a chair.

The video is so funny

Just... "alpha male" Marçal accusing Datena of not being man enough to do anything to him, followed by "No, Datena! No! Nooo!!" in the background as Datena comes into frame and hits him with a chair, cutting to a different camera right as he hits, the moderator going "OUR COMMERCIALS, PLEASE", a "son of a bitch!!" yelled out in the background...

Rationally I know it's awful, it's shameful, but right now I just can't stop laughing.

Some guy attempted some kind of terrorist attack in Brasília a few hours ago. Attempted really badly. Got himself exploded, did zero harm to anyone else besides inconvenience. Also, he was wearing a suit that was apparently a reference to the joker.

#i'll let you guess his political views #anyway this was a lapse on the end of Abin (Brazilian intelligence agency) bc the dude had been posting a lot abt his plans online #posted some ''you have 72 hours to disarm this bomb'' type of bullshit #thankfully the guy just failed on his own #to be clear the bomb squad was called and people were evacuated #but there was nothing #a woman who was in that general area said she saw the guy walking by before he did it and he waved to her and gave her a thumbs up #then he walked up to a statue and threw explosives at it and he fell down #(bc one of the explosives hit and killed him)#he also had a car full of explosives elsewhere but that didnt do jackshit either #first some dumbasses tried to attach an explosive to a truck carrying fuel near the Brasília airport back in 2022 #(the explosive device didnt work)#now this #thank fuck all those far-right aspiring terrorists are too incompetent to harm anyone but themselves #my stuff #brasilposting

Part of why I decided to finally watch this last year (on top of it being considered by many the best brazilian novela of all-time) is that there's a remake coming this year which has zero odds of being the best anything of all-time but which I'll watch anyway. My prediction for this remake, in this blog where no one knows what I'm talking about, is that the writer will say this ending no longer makes sense because in 2025 the italian prince could just go into politics as an out gay man, even as a conservative, and wouldn't need a beard, homophobia is kind of over, so she'll do something much worse. My other prediction is that meanwhile the lesbian couple will be explicitly called a couple this time around, but the network will cut all the kisses they film between them from the aired version until social media makes so much noise they are forced to include maybe two, but still no implication the lesbians have actually seen each other naked. The evil boyfriend will not be bi.

Finished the classic 1988 telenovela and tell me why I grew up hearing this girl was one of television's most despicable villains and she's not only an all-time girlie who barely did anything wrong but also ends up. marrying a gay italian prince who wants to go into politics. and has been bankrolling her evil bi boyfriend. and they're all just going to live together. in italy. and she gets a million 1988 dollars per year of marriage. to live with her boyfriend and her boyfriend's boyfriend who's her gay prince husband. in italy. why did nobody ever mention this part to me.
