In 2008, Kyoichi Tsuzuki documented the fashion brand addiction of young japanese collectors. Through HAPPY VICTIMS, he gives us an insight into their collection, and interior. By putting an interview next to each photograph, he also brings us some explanations about their behavior.

"People find my photos of fashion victims interesting because such top-of-the-line items coexist with their less-than-fabulous everyday lifestyles, all very matter-of-factly. To see top people surrounded top goods by might make people jealous, while the lowest of the low scraping the very bottom of the barrel is merely painful to look at. But when things mix that normally don’t go belong together, now that’s the stuff of excitement and inspiration."

this series of photos were taken to warn people about over consumption, I see a lot of people glamorize these pictures or say they’re "goals" and it upsets me! ethical over consumption is still over consumption. That’s something I don’t think many j-fashioners realize :(

i have a theory about shinji, gin, and aizen, but i'm not really sure how to word it.

we never really see shinji and gin interact all that much, which makes sense bc both of them have significantly more important relationships with aizen, but at the same time it's a little odd how much there isn't.

like. gin cut hiyori in half. shinji is understandably pissed about that, but he aims that anger at aizen - and this seems to be one of the very few things in the bleach world that honestly isn't on him bc he never told gin to do that, he never even implied it. hiyori was never a threat to him. hell, we don't even know if she was charging in the right direction; if anything, attacking her implies that she was which is a really stupid thing to do when you're surrounded by a bunch of people who super want you dead and would kill you if they could be sure you weren't tricking them into stabbing each other (ofc it could also be a fakeout but still)

but i don't remember shinji's beef ever really being with gin, even tho he didn't seem to anticipate that gin was working with aizen the whole time during tbtp. so like does he feel responsibility there? cuz gin went straight from academy to 3rd seat and shinji could plausibly feel like that sent him right to aizen bc he doesn't know that gin was always aiming for that. did he blame himself? does he feel like he should've seen it coming? does he still see him as some weird genius kid? does he just view gin as an extension of aizen, which is both dehumanizing to an extent but also entirely fair bc gin did that to himself?

the thing is, since we never really see them interact much, it's kind of only interesting on shinji's side of things, bc gin doesn't really care about much outside of whatever the fuck he thought he was doing and the version of rangiku that he has in his head who needs back something that the real one doesn't ever seem to have realized she lost to begin with. gin's so disconnected with basically everybody that most of the time you can usually assume his thoughts are just "lol. lmao" and there's no reason to think that doesn't extend to shinji as well (gin has deep thoughts on: aizen, ichigo, and matsumoto (massive asterisk on that one ofc) and i think everyone else is kinda set dressing to him lmao the guy is Fucked Up)

anyway i think it's interesting to toy around with that relationship as it was in reality as well as how it might've been perceived, but also in the sense of both of them being sort of opposite ends of the manchild spectrum - shinji leans into his childish side but still has a fairly adult worldview, and gin is able to pull off maturity to an extent but was never able to escape a deeply childish mindset

The creator I'm currently completely obsessed with is Medusone, who made long detailed, well elaborated videos on the Depp v Heard case. Today (20th Sept 2023) she posted on her YT channel a new, "shorter" but no less pointed video about the newly unsealed court documents. I call the unsealing of the court documents by the Johnny Depp stans an ongoing public harassment of Heard aided by the silence of content creators that jumped on the band wagon last year and failed to follow up. After the verdict was read many just moved on, despite new developments in the case, case in point post verdict settlement prompted by Amber's appeal.

Now we have a new band wagon, the accusations against Russell Brand. The knee jerk reaction on so many sides is "trial by media" and "why come out to the media and not report it to the police?".

Amber tried to go about this quietly. As Medusone points out in her video, they literally forced her to re-live her SA on the stand while her testimony was broadcast. Amber was against cameras in the court room. Amber didn't want any of her suffering to be publicized and broadcast, Johnny Depp did. His lawyers wanted the cameras in the courtroom,...to humiliate her. Amber never sought out publicity about her divorce, she followed the NDA after the divorce. She obtained a restraining order against him. She went to the police, she did what she knew how to do, best to her abilities and mental state and taking in account that he's an insanely well known person and she's virtually a nobody in comparison. So all I can say about the public's reaction to the Brand accusations is: fuck all y'all who expect victims to act a certain way after being abused and letting abusers off the hook because the victim wasn't perfect. Do you know how insane that is?!

The four women approached the media because they instinctively knew all this, yet here we fuckung are. No matter how much evidence is produced nothing will be enough for most of society short of a gruesome video of the assault and even then many would find a way to put this on the, in these cases female victims.

This society hates women, plain and simple.
