something something i have many thoughts on the deliciousness of jyn and cassian’s relationship being specifically about the... ambiguity, or if not the ambiguity, the places where it shirks and twists away from the modern hollywood play-by-numbers Movie Romance into something... earthier, messier, more human and intimate. like i don’t personally feel like we needed the kiss, or the infamous deleted wedding ending, as much as i would love to see it in the cut scenes, because i feel like what the movie provided us felt so much more true to character. because there is no kiss, no hollywood declaration of love, the audience has to look at the text as is and the body language and acting decisions and those are simply more insane than almost any other live action star wars couple

A curated list of Lost Galaxy observations (as the worlds number one Gingaman enjoyer). Ordered from "found this fun" to "grinding my teeth very mad losing sleep over this"

1 - i absolutely love how all over the place they are about emulating Gingaman's I C O N I C running. They kinda sorta do it sometimes but no one ever seems committed to it and its so fucking funny. Like an embarrassed kid not wanting to play "yes and" in front of his friends in drama class. Delightful.

2 - Endlessly amused by Mike's Aura Changer. Ki ryoku tenshin. Mike of the heavenly ring star. Cow Ranger.

3 - They only ever use the washed out/thrown overboard/kinda dead Bucrates suit for Kegler (they dont actually use ANY Gingaman footage for this character isnt that fun)

4- The Gingaman Yartotos: baby boy, baby. The Lost Galaxy Swabbies: evil. Its the eyes man, why are they looking at me like that

5 - what's up with the big ass scar on Captain Mutiny's chest?? It's cool and makes him look like a battle hardened pirate but also he never had this in Gingaman (not even in the megaranger crossover) and i wanna know how it happened

6 - Magna Defender comes back as a ghost and tells Mike to kill himself this has nothing to do with anything i just think its so fucking funny.

"Killing myself fixed all of my problems. You should give it a try"

7 - these poor suits are absolutely wrecked lmao i wonder if thats one of the reasons Mike never does anything. the texture on the magna defender suit is making me feel like i need to wash my hands

8 - i'm beating my head against a wall over these. how do you even fucking manage. very funny tho hi Gouki hi Shelinda

9 - Are the Torozord, Centaurus and Stratoforce Megazords not sentient??? Like, they are just as self aware as the other galactabeasts right?????? WHY DID ABSOLUTELY NO ONE FUCKING CARE WHEN THEY ALL GOT BLOWN UP??????????? none of them appear in the crossover so I'm making the assumption that they died for good and NO ONE. CARED. is the Zenith Carrierzord ok? does he miss them????? this actually hurt my feelings tbh

10 - this is THE BIGGEST nitpick i have and really it doesnt affect anything and i'm only upset because of how much i love Hyuuga but

Mike suddenly just HAVING THE KNIGHT AXE fucking gutted me. I lost count of the amount of times this team suddenly had a new weapon at their disposal with no explanation and typically this kinda shit doesnt bother me but you CANNOT just give the Defender Torozord this FUCKING AXE. this axe is so important to Hyuuga's character and story arc and Mike just fucking pulls it out of his big cow ass, uses it like twice, and then blows up the Torozord. IN FACT, I DONT THINK HE EVEN USES IT OUTSIDE OF THE MEGAZORD.

ALSO. dont use the close ups of the Defender Torozords head moving around like he's talking if you arent goiNG TO LET HIM ACTUALLY TALK he looks so silly

BONUS - this is from the Lightspeed Rescue crossover but like jesus fucking christ they dont even use the morphers like this why did they use this footage who made this decision i would like to speak to them

#Love Letters For Joy #aroaessidhe 2023 reads #hm.#the good: so many disabled characters!#main boy has asthma; side characters in wheelchairs and two others incidentally with CP;#and like every other character is wearing glasses #(which tbh. is probably just a normal amount of disability i any given group of people but how often do you see that much in a book lmao)#(I also just noticed the BG characters on the cover too)#but it is very…….doesn’t really explore anything in depth and also the drama got pretty comical at the end?#i forgot it was the CDB retelling.#feel like it should have taken the concept and then ran with the natural possibilities for the characters instead of trying to stick to tha #no more YA where the secret anonymous person keeps their identity secret for no reasonable reason and it only causes problems pls #near the end the dude is outed to his parents and kicked out. and like holy shit it does not explore that in depth??#one of her ‘friends’ is in love with her and after kissing her without consent goes on this aphobic tirade and becomes like a comical vilai #neither of those things are handled very well #also just little things like joy tells her friends that over the course of the book she’s realised she’s pan -#which was not mentioned a single time in her internal narration. there's tons of that kind of thing. telling not showing.#asexual books #while she mentions she's ace a lot she doesn't talk about specific experiences a lot #(which is not an issue but damn i wish it would have done that with Something in the book)

seriously though if you want to look into vtubers, or are looking for new or more vtubers/streamers to watch, or if you're just looking for something to watch in general, please check out the holostars. there's 10 of them in the english branch rn and they've all got such different personalities and senses of humor and streaming styles that its pretty likely you'll find at least one whose streaming content and community you vibe with. plus they're all very close so whenever they collab with each other those streams are always entertaining, and they stream with others outside of stars pretty often as well

since they're part of hololive productions that means they're also virtual idols as well, so if you like music they have several original songs and plenty of covers to check out! (axel and hakka have the most, octavio is catching up to them, and all the others have at least one cover each except ruze and goldbullet, though both of them are in armis' debut original and new year's cover (also i think one of them hinted recently they're working on a cover? but now i cant remember if it was goldie or ruze omg both of them i usually listen to at work so now i cant remember who said it))

also also the second generation, tempus vanguard, are getting their 3D models now, it's very exciting! bettel's showcase was the other day and is a very great example of the kind of show he likes to put on so check that out if you're interested (he was exteremly nervous at the beginning but did hit his stride by halfway through so keep that in mind, haha). flayon and hakka's showcases will be this weekend and are sure to be a blast as well, with shinri's showcase and the celebration collab with all 4 of them (and mostly likely some other guests) are going to be the following weekend!

#there's also 13 members of the japanese branch but since i dont know japanese i dont watch them /as/ much #i'll watch as many special streams as i can (meaning.... when they aren't in the middle of the night or like ass o'clock in the morning)#and also when one of the en boys raids one of the jp boys i'll stick around an amount of time depending on what time it is #but definitely check them out as well they're also all really hardworking and cool. at the very least there TONS more originals #and covers from the jp boys and you dont need to know japanese to appreciate music so definitely give some of them a listen #rikka does have an english version of his first original song re:hello world #so that may be a good place to start (his voice is beautiful. we love rikka)#speaking of ass o'clock the 5th anniversary concert is this saturday at 4am and hhhhhhh #imma try to go to bed early friday so it doesnt suck so much to wake up that early but im def gonna watch that live!#gonna be spending this week looping all their orignals so im more familiar with them cuz ive been slacking on doing that lol #vtuber posting
