Redrawing this character every year since her creation in early 2023.

Echino was born on Baryte in a litter of four, being the runt of said litter her parents worried that if she wouldn't survive, and when she did make it to toddler age, they began to instead worry she would simply not be able to amount for much. But as Echino got older and began to understand her parents' fears, she vowed to prove them wrong.

Echino began apprenticeship under a senior hunter in the sept by the name Meloi, and began learning to hunt, trap and fight under the older aviset's guidance. She was a very persistent student, never allowing her failures to keep her from learning, though she gained some scarring along the way. Eventually she reached a point where she was able to hunt on her own, and from there she quickly started rising in the ranks as she trapped all kinds of prey. As she got older she got more ambitious, targeting the larger and more dangerous animals of Baryte. She became a prized trapper within her sept, no longer was she doubted, but still she was driven to do more. She made it her goal to trap every kind of animal there was to trap on Baryte. That goal was, after several years of hunting, completed. And with it..she found the drive to do more still.

She left Baryte behind to hunt new prey elsewhere, and it was during her travels she came across a bounty hunter's guild. It was perfect, a way to keep hunting, but now her targets posed more of a thrilling challenge.

Sooooooo I’ve got a new Mandalorian oc!!! Meet Kalaar Hett’tra!!

“Kalaar” is a combination of the Mando’a words for “blade” (kal) and “song” (laar), and “Hett’tra” directly translates to “burning sky.” I spent a while on that name and I am very proud of it :D

He’s a bounty hunter in the Clone Wars/Early Empire era. His parents were members of the Haat Mando’ade (True Mandalorians), but they were killed in the Galidraan Massacre when he was still a teenager. He went on the run and built a reputation as an elite bounty hunter. When hunting, he goes by the name “Genet”, the Mando’a word for “grey.” To Mandalorians, grey is the color of mourning. No surprise that a grieving teen chose that name to go by.

What species is he? To be honest, you could probably call him a humanoid mutt. He’s got the typical Mandalorian genetic soup. His most prominent features, the red hair and blue-tinted skin, come from an Icarii ancestor, along with his ability to recover quickly from severe injuries. He’s got fangs and claw-like nails from some Cathar or Farghul heritage, and excellent memory and agility from a Kage. There’s a few other undefined species thrown in there as well; he’s never tried to figure out what parts of him come from where.

After the death of his parents, he’s spent most of his life alone, save for his charhound, Edee, who he found as a puppy not long after his parents’ death. And, within the last few years, he’s started picking up some kids of his own. Truly living up to his Mando’ade heritage, lol. He’s got Prri, a Pantoran/Theelin hybrid; Osor, a Pantoran; Meeko, a Squib; and an as-of-yet unnamed Twi’lek (or Twi’lek hybrid). All but Meeko belong to various internet friends, and I’ll talk about them later <3

Here's a bit more lore on the guy:

for being one of the oldest bounty hunters for hire, he's still able to do his work better than most of the youngins out there!

because of his experience, he's trusted to do more dangerous bounties that would otherwise kill an unprepaird hunter.

his preffered weapon of choice isn't actually a weapon! he uses all kinds of poisons, venoms, and other substances to kill or subdue his targets.

an old friend of Hipswitch, he'll find the wisdom and knowledge he gained from old age to be of great help to the main four.

Some fun facts below the cut!

- Khel doesn't have any children himself, but he does have 2 nephews and a niece! (He absolutely adores his niece the most)

- Tzarians are a venomous species! Their venom stuns their victim for a period of time, the duration changing from person to person.

- Tzarians are a matriarchal society, women are highly respected in their culture.

- Khel himself is a very kind person to those he befriends, oftentimes becoming a father figure to those who need it.

- his scarf was given to him by his mother when he was a kid. He keeps it with him as a reminder of her after she passed.

- the reason his home planet's years are different from human years is because their planet takes longer to orbit! His home planet orbits around a red giant, so it takes 7 human years to make up 1 Tzarian year!

- has lots of friends within the bounty hunter groups, including our good ol robo pal Hipswitch!

- he calls anyone and everyone 'kid' and 'kiddo'
