i made these sword wall mounts from Link’s house in BotW! i made three in total to match the three in Link’s Hateno house. the TotK ones are slightly different, featuring a rod to stand the weapon upright, rather that against the wall.*

i’m gonna be overly descriptive here for my own reference, as well as anyone else who would like to make something similar!

here’s the specs:

mount:

h - 44 in // w(top) - 16 in // w(bottom) - 14 in

plaque:

h - 2.5 in // w - 8.5 in

- made from plywood and cut wooden sticks

- bindings used screws, wood glue, and a nail gun

- base colour using spray paint

- border colour using primer paint

- fastened with velcro temporarily

- backside is hung on wall with a wire line

i plan to add Hylian text to the plaques. probably something general rather than a specific weapon name (so i can swap swords between mounts).

also planning to replace the velcro strip with a leather strap and buckle. something adjustable for different sizes. i’ll either use rivets or simply cut two slots in the sides for the leather strap to go through.

all my swords i plan on hanging here are high-density foam/PVC pipe. so far, i have the royal claymore, great flameblade, and master sword. although the first two are larger in game, they are roughly the same size as the master sword seen in the photos. this allows me to make a one-size-fits-most build!

Hi! For Wild’s chapter in Like a Rag Doll, is it possible to get a translation for the old English sentence at the beginning? I think I got most of it but I am not sure about the “warden hi onyenes” part is supposed to be.

Hello! Just to be entirely honest before I share it--I absolutely based it off the stone tablets in totk. There are some other words that I researched before adding, but for the most part it was me squinting at the text and trying to figure out how the words worked XD

You did get most of it:

'Ond so the goddesse seyde tha a champion bith from the skie comen, to warden hi onyenes the wroth god of derknesse.’

"And so the goddess said that a champion born from the sky will come, to ward it against the wrathful god of darkness."

It's definitely not perfect, but I'm choosing to make it the consequence of time on poorly kept oral tradition.

But yeah, it's referencing how Sky had to hold back Demise, specifically the seals he would use. Hylia was 'speaking' in this part, as her plan to defeat Demise was explained to the audience ^-^

I really wanna see Zuko with the Gerudo from Zelda. Just. Imagine it. Earning grudging respect by just constantly sneaking in and escaping? He's got it down. Little lightning lessons from someone with powers like Urbosa or Riju?? Yes please. Tiny pale Zuko next to the tall, tanned, red-haired warriors? (He can still hold his own, don't get me wrong, but they will be teasing him about it.) How did he get there? Was he transported to a loz world? Have the Gerudo just been chilling in the atla deserts like the sandbenders for who knows how long? Don't care. I don't even care. I just want it. Also, I feel like he'd look great in their styles

progress update on the weapon mounts!!

ok so if you missed the first part, i’ll link it here:

i finally finished the plaques fully! once again, i’ll be a bit overly descriptive for anyone who wants this as a reference.

you may notice that two of the swords aren’t a perfect fit into the plaques. that’s because i modeled the original mockup with only the master sword. i didn’t want to make three different sizes for each weapon. partly out of laziness, and partly because i can swap out the swords if i ever get a new one.

in BotW, the sword plaques are a lot bigger in comparison to link. the size of mine are actually closer in size to the bow plaques. i wanted these to be somewhat portable and fit on my wall. (plus my three swords are roughly the same size so it would’ve been a waste of resources).

i might paint the word “Builders” in Hylian on the bottom slab, matching the Tarrey Town brand in the game.
