any recommendations for nonprofit newsroom-type-things that do good work?

i have a higher donation-matching limit via my employer this year than i thought, so i'm particularly interested in throwing some donations at any independent journalism / investigative reporting-type outfits that could use the help. (for a point of reference, i've supported Pro Publica for a while, but some of their reporting has gotten disappointingly Vice-y lately, so i'm looking for something else to fill that donation niche.)

The whole password-sharing thing happening at a point where Netflix’s quality is arguably decreasing at a pretty steady rate is wild. Netflix used to be THE place to go for streaming movies and TV, and now there are so many other competitors - many of which have better originals, and many of whom have been actively poaching from Netflix’s selection of licensed shows and movies. The only thing I use Netflix for atm is Seinfeld and the occasional movie, even though I used to watch it all the time. And now they’ve introduced a restriction that actually devalues their own service by limiting its convenience, which is literally what the brand was initially built on. This always would’ve been a bad move, but if they’d introduced it 4-5 years ago before the market fractured into 25 different streaming services they probably could’ve gotten away with it. Now it’s just business suicide because a whole bunch of people who were on the fence already, and barely use Netflix, and hang onto the subscription “just in case” (like me) are gonna cancel. And anyone who didn’t consider it worth the money before absolutely won’t pay for it now that you’ve actively undermined one of your main selling points. What the fuck is happening over at Netflix HQ. Who ever let this be a thing

Hi! In case you’ve subscribed to my youtube channel (xoxomyseriesxoxo) or/and you’re wondering where did my kdramas (esp. HDL/IOTNBO/TYH) videos and Ichiruki AMVs go, I got hacked last week (more precisely, my google account got hacked not once but thrice, unfortunately, I couldn’t get it back at all after their third successful attempt). This is how my channel looked before it happened:

The person who stole my account downloaded “[Adobe/other softwares] Full Crack” videos that have malware links in the descriptions and that led to my channel’s termination... I am currently in contact with youtube’s team to try to get it back. In the meantime, you can subscribe to my YOUTUBE BACKUP CHANNEL. 

Depending on whether I can get my main youtube channel (xoxomyseriesxoxo) back, my new channel (xomyseries) will either be a backup channel where I’ll post old videos/unfinished projects or it will become my new youtube channel.

Don’t worry, I fortunately got most of my original video files on my hard drive so in worst case, I will repost my own edits on my backup channel. I will also continue to vid (I even had a Byakuya edit finished in case you’re wondering).
