2023 has been, without a doubt, the most depressing, dire, enraging year for the internet. youtube is blocking adblockers. twitter is a racist homophobic NFT bro incel's paradise. tumblr is shoving their dumbass live service in our faces (yet it's still the most habitable social media right now). reddit had that whole API disaster thing. instagram killed hashtags and now it's basically impossible to grow an account on there...and horrific everything-phobic comments are allowed, and if you report them or call them out, YOU'RE the one who gets banned.

at the beginning of 2023, most of these websites were still themselves for the most part, but for some reason it was this year when they all decided to burst into flames. the internet is literally uninhabitable. we live in a world that's suffering from inflation, where the average neurodivergent youtube junkie like me isn't able to afford 15 dollars a month to remove ads. there are too many streaming services. everything is too much. it's too overstimulating.

Can I just say that one trend with computers that I absolutely fucking hate is companies manufacturing them without disc drives?

Is physical media really considered so woefully obsolete these days that computer manufacturers don't expect you to even have any anymore?

The only device I own without a physical disc drive is my gaming laptop, and that is only because they don't make gaming laptops with DVD drives anymore.

So any physical PC game I own, I have no way to install it on that laptop unless I purchase an external disc drive. Is it really so fucking taboo to ask for the computer I am spending money on to have a built-in disc drive?

Every other computer I've ever owned, including the one I am writing this post on at this moment, has at least had a DVD drive.

You'd be surprised at how little Gen-Z understands how technologies & software actually works.

You'd think decades after we were in high school, that Computer Education & Software Applications would be promoted from being elective courses to being a requirement in the digital age.

This is likely because those in the education departments assume that Gen-Z and later would have the same knowledge & know-how as us Gen-Y do.

Holy crap gen z we are literally the latest example of a generation that was screwed over by the previous ones. Start being smarter and NOT fall into the trap of thinking the next generation sucks just because they’re younger and grow up a little different and maybe, I dunno, actually help them become better if you hate them so much considering they’re only like 5 and will only become worse if we treat them like shit????

I was an introvert before the internet made it a fashion trend. Not everybody is meant to be the quiet one, and some of you need to understand that before you have an episode. I get it's easy to be socially conditioned by society to never speak but you're allowed to deviate from that. Be the dork. You don't even need to yap, just be a good listener and maybe invite people over for some food.
